Aderlating/Nekrasov - Split LP (Vinyl) (Chrome Leaf: Chrome5)

This the foul and utterly terrifying split LP between Australian noise terrorists NEKRASOV and our old pal Mories (Gnaw Their Tongues, De Magia Veterum) with more oppressive new material from another of his noiseterror projects, ADERLATING. This LP release will be limited to 300 copies only, on translucent dark green with silver splatter wax.As one might expect from such a union, this split LP shall surely be one of the most frightening releases of 2010, punishing the listener with each act’s depraved experimentation within black metal, dark noise and ambient sub-musical territories. Australian one-man unit NEKRASOV embraces Nothing as a state and rejects Nothing as a value. NEKRASOV was initiated in 1997 to direct those to the black pain at the body’s core. The hell unleashed by the unit here is severely haunting; their lone track clocking in at a mammoth 24:42 in length… And that’s all before you even get to the wretched B-side of the split. From within the same dimly-lit hate cellar and born of the same dismal mind as Gnaw Their Tongues, the cavernous suffocation delivered by ADERLATING bursts forth with low frequency horror, nausea-inducing 20khz drones, fistfucking distorted tape-hiss and raped soundscapes, while the lowest and vilest of demons provide a diabolical orchestration. This is purely demented, scathing, metallic bliss.. $15.66

Aere Aeternus - Humanity Needs No Funeral (CD) (Kaosthetik: KSTK006)

Re-stock! "Humanity Needs No Funeral", the first full-length album from Aere Aeternus, is released on the French label Kaosthetik. With a multi-national and eclectic lineup, the band comprises Alex (Macabre Omen, The One, Razor of Occam), Claudio Alcara (Frostmoon Eclipse, Striszek), Cyr (Dark Sanctuary, Elektronic Society) and Radu. Drawing on the wide range and considerable musical experience of its members, Aere Aeternus creates a dark, disturbing atmosphere that probably best fits within the ambient and minimalist genres, and which the band themselves describe as "half misanthropic ritual and half sex ritual." Very obscure and brooding sounds full of spoken incantations, ritual percussion, and just a very evil, disturbing vibe all around. The dominant atmosphere combines a sense of impending insanity with sexual deviancy and a large dollop of occultism, creating a dark and troubling misanthropic sojourn that is relatively unique. The final track is probably the most musical, as it is centred on a guitar arpeggio, but no such concessions to convention are present elsewhere on this deeply troubling disk. The accompanying video of "Invocation" shows a Satanic ritual in all its kitchsy glory. Recommended for those looking for something a darker than the usual entities. .. $13.33

Ahnstern - Logo T-Shirt (Shirts) (Ahnstern: AhnsternTS)

Two sided brown shirt with "Ahnstern" on the front and big logo in back.. $18.99

Alfarmania - Bottenscrapet pic LP (Vinyl) (Autarkeia: AVI36)

This luxurious epic release by the Swedish sound terrorist Kristian Olsson, also known as the leader of Survival Unit, has built a monument for the postmortem electronics. A style mainly characterised by dirt, chaos, noise and a deliberate disregard for quality. Two long tracks of Bottenskrapet album offer a hymn for the dump of human civilisation and its madness. Absolute provocation released in the heaviest pic-LP vinyl illustrated with the visualisation of the talented 21st c. collagist Kristian Olsson, whose suggestion equals that of Hieronymus Bosch's hallucinations. The release includes a postcard and a few stickers for labelling police cars. Their blurb on discogs is classic: "Post-mortem / power electronic depravity from northern sweden, brimming with insanity, negative emotional charge and filthy technocratic dizziness. crafted with primitive tools revealing claustrophobia syndrome among four walls of an asylum, the hell of chemical paradise and existential terror".. $28.66

Alfarmania - Bottenskrapet Boxset (Vinyl) (Autarkeia: AVI36Box)

Lmtd 30 boxset, coming in a suede, engraved box and containing multiple inserts, stickers, and embroidered polo shirt with Alfarmania logo, buttons, and a small cylinder that I'm scared to open. Oh, and most importantly, the pic LP as well. If you already have the LP, I could probably be persuaded into knocking some cash off the price. Talk to me directly at malignant@03.malignantrecords.com. $180.00

Allseits - Hel (CD) (Cyclic Law: 23rd Cycle)

ALLSEITS is the Solo project of the german instrumentalist Nina Kernicke known from her recent collaboration with German Drone pioneers Troum of which Nina has also been a recent live member of and her work under her other alias, ALLSIDES. The Album "Hel“ describes the way into the underworld, the listener is guided through various stages on the journey down to Hel, the Norse mythological term for hell and also for the goddess Hel who is said to keep watch over the underworld. The journey begins at the foot of Yggdrasil, the world tree, under which the entry to Hel is hidden. We then ride the river Gjöll, that flows along the human world before it runs down to Hel. Gjöll is spanned by the bridge Gjallarbrù which is guarded by Modgudr, a female giant, who decides who can pass the bridge. Leaving Gjallarbrú behind, the large dog Garm that sentinels the gate to Hel is waiting and at his side sits Fjalar, a rooster that will crow to signify the beginning of Ragnarok, the end of the world. After passing Fjalar Hel is finally reached. This allegoric tale is expressed diligently by Kernicke with the use of guitar, bass, drums and skillful sampling creating thick drony layers of deep and solemn emotions.Edition of 1000 copies In gatefold cardboard sleeve.6 Tracks.. $12.33

Aossic S'lba - PanAeonic Glyphs CDr (CD) (Old Europa Café: OECDR40)

New project from Ulex Xane, otherwise known as Streicher, though going in a completely different direction from that infamous project. Aossic S'lba is an occult project based in large part on the work of Kenneth Grant, a British occultist, student of Crowley, and head of the magical order previously known as the Typhonian Ordo Templi Orientis Nothing harsh here - just ritual and obscure dark-ambient music, with flowing textures, hallucinatory, dream like electronics, and spaced out shimmerings. Surprisingly polished and well done, considering the overall lo-fi nature of Streicher.. $13.33

Arktau Eos - Ai Ma Ra 2CD (CD) (Aural Hypnox: AH11)

Ai Ma Ra is a monumental album containing over 105 minutes of experimental elemental and ambient music, original in the literal sense of the word. More than music, it is 'ethnography of the unknown' in action, providing vistas into rarely glimpsed corners of reality. Created primarily on acoustic instruments, organs and harmonium, carefully mastered on vintage tape, the sound is equally earthy as it is otherworldly – a contradiction in terms maybe, but then Ai Ma Ra is not classified easily in any other respect either. It is a record in which to immerse one’s self over time, containing more than two years' worth of strange experiences and sensations distilled into a curious, potent elixir, the use of which may in its truest sense be determined only by the individual listener. Ai Ma Ra, pressed in 1.000 copies, comes in a sturdy, deep green cardboard box stamped with the mark of Arktau Eos. Contained within is an 8-page booklet bound in tête-bêche format on high quality paper, a small talismanic print, and two CDs.. $18.75

Aspectee - Morben (CD) (First Fallen Star: FFS003)

Debut of from Aspectee offering 9 atmospheric tracks mostly staying in the pure dark ambient vein, with some slightly rougher, experimental nuances sprinkled throughout. Either way, this has a very nice flow to it. Cold and solemn, yet still emotive.. $12.00

Atomine Elektrine - Archimetrical Universe (CD) (Eternal Pride: EPP015)

Re-issue/remixed version of 1996's Archimetrical Universe (Yantra Atmopheres) + bonus tracks from extra limited CDr boxed version of the album Nebulous. Archimetrical Universe showcases Peter Andersson (Raison d'Etre, Stratvm Terror) dissection of the sky, a Caesarean section that births massive, geometrically perfect sonic diversions, all spheres and angles, burnished metal dreams and pristine sonic caresses that reconfigure sound into smooth surfaces. To counterbalance the exactness of the sonic development, light rhythms emerge, huge slabs of disrupting tones puncture, the scattered remnants of all of Peter’s projects utilized in the creation of the music here. Everything seems to be in perpetual motion, evolving, revolving, reinvented at the mercy of Peter’s deft hands and devious whim. The clarity of production and meticulous restructuring of the known (space, stars, planets) with the unknown (space...stars...planets...) only heightens the journey upon which he guides us, an alluring venture into the cavernous realm of space...but not a space most of us would imagine. Whether he is sonically scrubbing the architecture, or just mesmerizing us with another sound sculpture at the edge of forever, Archimetrical Universe is, quite possibly, one of Peter’s finest releases, which says a lot because his sonic portfolio runneth over with intoxicating, mind-altering sound manipulations that inspire one’s imagination with conflicting emotional responses (sorrow, desolation, awe, wonder) at all times.. $12.66

Atrium Carceri - Phrenitis (CD) (Cold Meat Industry: CMI203)

'Phrenitis' takes the listener to a twisted place where the walls between worlds are razed. The ruinous cities of wars long past, where time itself is but a prisoner and the warlords roaming their purgatorial halls are free to destroy the very foundations of the natural order.'Phrenitis' is the 6th album of Atrium Carceri and is yet another step of the ever increasing Atrium Carceri wake up call. Simon Heath shows himself and the world, yet again, that no man is ever truly the master of their art unless they strive to evolve with it. The soundscapes he has created bypass the conscious mind, taking the listener deep into his pristine nightmare. The evolution of sound is spot-on and sets Atrium Carceri apart from other lazy dark ambient acts by being a truly diverse piece, replete with details upon details to make the illusion complete, and haunting compositions to make the mind yearn.. $14.33

Bereft - Your Messiah Will Fail (CD) (Bloodlust!: B!143)

Your Messiah Will Fail takes a far more confrontational approach than Bereft’s "Tough Man" b/w "Religious Leaders" single, which had a darker, more death-industrial feel to it. Comparable to the high-fidelity assault of the recent Twodeadsluts Onegoodfuck 7-inch and the classic P.E. approach of Slogun—all the while maintaining its own personality and style—Bereft is now a venomous two-piece group, as Andrew Grant (aka The Vomit Arsonist) has joined Peter Lee (also the head honcho of the Force of Nature label) to accost listeners with harsh-yet-nuanced electronic sounds and potent vocals that feature prominently in the mix.. $9.49

Bocksholm - Rinna Leathercluster Liveaction 2008 (CD) (Autarkeia: ACD044)

4th CD from this collaborative project between Peter Andersson (Raison d'Etre) and Peter Andersson (aka Lina, Deutsch Nepal), this one a live recording from the 26th of July 2008 at the Industrial Vacation Festival in Malmö Sweden. Dominated by remarkable, powerful industrial rhythms, outbursts of psychedelic ambient, intoxicated, gargling vocals, sombre and dismal atmosphere transfused by alcoholic delirium, alcoholic despair and alcoholic hysteria that has only one culprit... No, no, it is not the alcohol, but this isolated, remote Swedish provincial town Bocksholm with its fauna and polluted nature that had such a heavy impact on the childhood of these alcohol addicts.. $14.50

Burmese/Cadaver Eyes - Split CD (CD) (Heart & Crossbones: HCB016)

Like demented twins in crime, Burmese (tUMULt / Load Records) & Cadaver Eyes rephrase Doom, Grindcore and Power Electronics by using an agonizing mechanism of plain brutal aesthetics, ascending these genres to a higher level of cognitive surge. This split CD is difficult and pungent, a warm spew in the face and an endless buzz in the eardrum that fiercely occupies the brain and treats the grey cells as if they were an ashtray. A crude awakening and a classic case of ponderous self indulgence.. $10.00

Caithness - Apostasy & The Sorrowful Child (CD) (Kaosthetik: KSTK007)

4th release from Caithness, but the first I've encountered, which make it rather surprising given the quality of the work. Very reminscent of early Raison d'Etre - introspective ambient soundscapes with sorrowful melodies, monastic chants, acoustic enrichments, and haunted atmospheres, all drenched in the requisite reverb. To discover.. $13.00

Caul - Kairos CDR/Book (CD) (Aglaia: AGL01)

Stunning new self released Caul CD that comes with 7" x 7" softcover book with 17 color photos. More structured than anything Brett's done, incorporating some dub bass-lines and percussion. Think early-mid era Scorn meets Bohren and der Club of Gore, with classic Caul climatic squalls and haunting melodic textures a la Crucible. Beautiful, noir-ishly dark, and entrancing, this is Caul moving forward into a somewhat unexpected, but amazing direction. Totally recommended.. $19.44

Collapsar - Beyond the Event Horizon (CD) (Malignant: TumorCD38)

NEW!! Malignant presents another rising star within the dark ambient scene, this time in the form of French act Collapsar. With their debut CD, “Beyond The Event Horizon” Collapsar transports the listener on an epic journey deep into the cosmos, forging a path across a vast, inky void, and steering a course around a roiling galactic core of hyper-dense stars and black holes. The sound is epic, expansive, and most of all, HEAVY. There is beauty and tranquility within these realms, but there is no light – just massive, pulsating textures coalescing into shimmering drones, rippling sound waves, and billowing, multi-dimensional layers of powerful dark energy. “Beyond the Event Horizon” is without question, dark ambient in its purest form and one of the more genre defining releases of the last several years. A must for fans of Inade, Lustmord and the like. In 6 panel digipak, with design by ::: Eye.Lyft ::: As of September 23rd, 2009 also available on iTunes.. $11.50

Contagious Orgasm - Confession of Mannequin (CD) (Industrial Recollections: IR-C02)

Highly worshipped earliest material of the cult industrial-experimental band from Japan. This 2nd tape from 1988 (mistakenly stated 1989 in cd cover) shows a different side of what CO is known to be today. You see why they established deals with many leading European industrial/pe labels (Tesco, Ant-Zen, Praxis Dr. Bearmann,..) in the early 90's. Great dynamics and amazing quality. Covers include full re-print of all original tape artwork as it was. Industrial Recollections. $14.95

Contagious Orgasm - Impregnate (CD) (Industrial Recollections: IR-CO1)

Highly worshipped earliest material of the cult industrial-experimental band from Japan. This debut from 1987 shows a different side of what CO is known to be today. You see why they established deals with many leading European industrial/pe labels (Tesco, Ant-Zen, Praxis Dr. Bearmann,..) in the early 90's. An intersection of highly collaged experimental, surreal, and warped sounds; rhythmic noise, tool box clutter, cinematic fibres, deranged voices, and a multitude of other sonic oddities.45 minutes presented with original sound from metal master tapes without any modern day boosting gimmicks. Great dynamics and amazing quality. Covers include full re-print of all original tape artwork as it was. Industrial Recollections.. $14.95

Contagious Orgasm - Invasion (CD) (SSSM: SSSM11)

First new full-length release from Japanese sound virtuoso Contagious Orgasm (aka Hiroshi Hashimoto) in 3 years! Masterfully assembled collages of processed field recordings & electro-acoustic sound, that range from rhythmic industrial (NOT of the techno variety!), to noisy ambient and all parts in between. As with all of CO's releases, this is an adventurous and highly hypnotic listen, with tons of layers, styles, and complexity, with things rarely staying in place for long. Presented in a sealed card sleeve.. $13.50

Crepuscular - Deep Slow Majesty CDr (CD) (Black Drone: BDRL002)

New CD from a name a lot of you may recognize from the recently released Dark Ambient Radio Vol 2 CD. The disc title as well as the track titles are pretty revealing as to the actual sound creations; Descending Darkness, Deep Slow Majesty, Ethereal Shadow etc etc - resonant washes of pure dark ambience, cosmic drone, and deep atmospherics. Quality material.. $12.00

Dense Vision Shrine - Time Lost in Oblivion CD/DVD (CD) (First Fallen Star: FFS001)

Having created music for many years under such project names as Arcane Art, Penitent, and Defraktor, Karsten Hamre returns in 2009 with the simultaneous release of "Through the Eyes of a Stranger" and Dense Vision Shrine\\\'s "Time Lost in Oblivion" - both on First Fallen Star! Although it mysteriously shares a similar title and artwork with "Lost Time in Oblivion" (2007, Desolate Sonorities), "Time Lost in Oblivion" is a completely new album with no known connection to the 2007 release. Building upon a solid foundation of dark ambient, Dense Vision Shrine also employs sampled sounds and sparse rhythm to carefully design the listening experience of a realm where time itself has stopped, of a blackened voyage into oblivion. Each track of the album is distinctive, yet always possessing the signature of Dense Vision Shrine and proving unmistakably bleak. Even a seemingly benign track title like "The Girl Next Door" is in fact found to be quite ominous and devoid of any hope! "Time Lost in Oblivion" is presented in a DVD case with professionally pressed CD and professionally printed artwork, limited to 1,000 copies. The first 500 copies are presented in a 2 disc DVD case with a professionally pressed bonus DVD (PAL format), also titled "Time Lost in Oblivion," that takes the viewer on a visual journey of imagery used for live performances. $12.99

Der Blutharsch - Flying High! 2LP (Vinyl) (WKN: WKN34LP)

Flying High!” with this psychedelic combat cry, one of the most eccentric and innovative projects from Austria returns. On their ninth studio album, Der Blutharsch continues travelling in the direction they took back in 2005, when the former guru of martial industrial/military pop, Albin Julius, and his band, rocketed towards the deep space of psychedelia. One of the most controversial bands of the last decade staked its claim anew, totally breaking with old images, clichés and tunes. Having already started on the last album “The Philosopher’s Stone,” the walls of guitars and repetitive chants are recognizable. Flying High! transforms this into a programmatic climax. If you start thinking Sunn O))), Guru Guru, Amon Dül, Tangerine Dream or Godspeed You! Black Emperor you are not to far away, but most of the apocalyptic feeling which you are already used to is still inherent. Highly influenced by the American west coast sound of the late sixties with small doses of that which some people used to call Krautrock. The tracks develop into each other, ambient parts followed by ecstatic deathrock songs and then they glide into a wall of sound. The guest parts on the vocal side are full of well known artists: besides Bain Wolfkind and Albin Julius or Gianni Serusi, you discover 1980s legend Patrick Leagas who celebrates the title song in his typical distinctive manner. Flying High! is a dark record, it mixes eros and deathwish, productivity with destructivity. Since the release of “When Did Wonderland End?,” Der Blutharsch have mutated into a psychedelic rock monster; their motto, “into new territories!;” their symbol for this mutation, a battle fought not by marching but by flying, “Flying High!” Flying High! is a weird trip for blown minds through the dark worlds of today’s society, passing love, hate and lust during its journey into the center of the sun! This double LP is housed in a deluxe gatefold cover and strictly limited to 750 copies.. $38.00

Der Blutharsch - Tour Single 2009 7 inch (Vinyl) (WKN: WKN35)

Desiderii Marginis - Years Lend a Golden Charm (CD) (Eternal Pride: EPP016)

With "Years Lend A Golden Charm" we are invited to experience the very birth of what is now a well established project within the Dark Ambient Industrial scene. 73 minutes of material from the first three DM cassette releases from 1993 ("Consecrare", "Via Peregrinus", "Hortus Conclusus / Triptych"), plus one previously unreleased track. Highly sought after by collectors but only available in a mere dozen handmade copies, these songs are now finally made available to a greater audience. When you listen to the music with the knowledge that hindsight brings, it is obvious that these are the roots and the foundations, not only of the first full album "Songs Over Ruins", but of every subsequent release up to the latest, "Seven Sorrows". Russian import in a digipak.. $12.50

Deutsch Nepal - The Silent Container 4CD (CD) (Old Europa Café: OECD121)

Finally, the re-edition into digital format of the “Silent” tape trilogy out so many years ago on OEC and long since sold out . A great opporunity to hear the evolution of Deutsch Nepal in a long, accurate and complete work. Re-mastered in high quality CD standards by Peter Andersson (RAISON D’ETRE). This is the complete "Silence" saga with the new triple CD digipak (containing Only Silence Among the Filthy, The Silent Earth, and Behind A Wall of Silence) plus the old "The Silent Siege" single CD digipak, all coming inside a slip-box and including a set of 4 inserts. The re-edition of "The Silent Siege" album comes with a completely new label design similar to the "Silent Container" triple CD set. Across the board, some pretty classic, psychedelic industrial sounds in the true old school DN fashion. FYI, I did not order (on the recommendation of OEC) the edition without Silent Siege, since the price difference was fairly marginal.. $39.49

Doornen/Content Nullity - Perpetual Avidity CS (Cassette) (Scrape Tapes: Scrape004)

Reissue of the instantly deleted split cassette from last year. Originally released in an edition of 20 copies in luxurious fetish-themed packaging, this work is once again available in a second run with all new oversized artwork and an additional track from each project, pushing the material to well over an hour's length. Expect aggressive demolition followed by utter digust and despair. Doornen's brand of dirty sex-noise is sure to please all harshheads, never straying away from grime and sexual depravity, lapping up every drop of filth. This is truely a ruthless barrage of uncompromising harsh noise similiar in nature to artists such as Blod and Incapacitants. Side B documents Content Nullity's early stages of venturing into power electronics. Sharpening his knives to showcase ruin and the rising of a failure, it all begins at the end of the blade. Distant dreams fade away into smoke as all hopes are crushed like glass and memories are torn apart. Abandon everything: now. Harsh electronic music for worthless cuntheads. Each side includes a ten minute remix of one artist using the other's source material.Limited to a hand numbered edition of 50 copies. Chrome black labeled tape comes packaged in a 8" x 11" ziplock bag, with pro-printed folded cover and insert, and two pin badges.. $13.33

Escuadron de la Muerte - Thanatophilia Cruentus CDr (CD) (L-White: LW057)

When you look at the crime and corruption running rampant in Mexico right now, is there a better breeding ground for power electronics? And so we have the second CD from Escuadron de la Muerte. 55 minutes of harsh electronics, full of shrill noise, burning frequencies, and a scourge of overloaded sounds and loops. Noise with elements of power electronics, as opposed to the other way around.. $13.66

Folkstorm - Ortodox (CD) (Old Europa Café: OECD126)

The return of Folkstorm sees Nordvargr more pissed then ever. Screaming vocals, harsh analogue filter sweeps, distorted, pulsating oscillations and mammoth electronic grind. "Ortodox" is a return to the fine tradition of making entirely analogue music - no computers, no sequencers, no modern trickery. A pure celebration of classic Swedish industrial music, and a protector of values that are about to be lost. Killer stuff.. $14.66

Genevieve Pasquier - Le Cabaret Moi (CD) (Ant-Zen: Act231)

Three years after Soap Bubble Factory and Virgin Pulses, Ant-Zen is proud to present Geneviéve Pasquier's new album. From the very first note the listener will be mesmerized by the elegant electronic pulses that are dominated by the persuasive/icy quality of her vulnerable and adorable voice. Le Cabaret Moi is Geneviéve Pasquier's very own cabaret. A cabaret which transforms her desires into fourteen songs of diverse styles (without regard to any arbitrariness). The music's scope ranges from subtle, slow-moving ambience (Changing, Nobody's Darling), electro noise tunes (Bouge!, Fusion), beautiful atmospheric lounge cabaret (Mon Cabaret), insistent electroid beats (Rubberpop) and finally into a furious rapid interpretation of the Normal's Warm Leatherette. At once beautiful and distant, Geneviéve Pasquier's delivery speaks to everyone's feelings of loneliness, anger and pleasure that crop up at some point in life. a revue of class and noblesse - enter and enjoy your stay.. $14.99

Genocide Organ - :Live in Japan 2003/2007: CD/DVD (CD) (Tesco: Tesco077)

Finally, this long awaited document is to be made available!Japan has been a wasteland for German Industrial and/or Power Electronics bands for many years, but in 2003, GENOCIDE ORGAN entered the motherland of noise. Invited by Teito and MSBR, GENOCIDE ORGAN played two remarkable shows in Tokyo. The first took place in a typical noise/hardcore club called 20000V, and the second at a small theatre called Die Pratze. Because of the different locations and atmospheres, G.O. prepared two completely different sets. While the material at 20000V featured tracks from what was, at the time, the forthcoming album "In-Konflikt", plus a selection of powerful, well-known tracks, the setlist at Die Pratze featured a calmer and more peaceful atmostpher integrated into a theatrical-type performance. Though very different, both gigs represent the repertoire of G.O., which makes this band more than just a phenomenon of one genre. The two shows are presented here on DVD in their entirety, edited from three different camera angles by Frank Merten of Seismic Wave Factory, known for the visuals of Herbst9 and Land:Fire. The DVD is professionally mastered and features a fully animated menu.In 2007, GENOCIDE ORGAN returned to Tokyo for two more shows, both hosted at 20000V, and again, each show had a different setlist. The audio CD in this collection features a selection of the best tracks from both evenings. Many had never been released or played live before, while some 'old favorites' appear here as completely different versions. The quality of the recording is amazing, and you will feel the full power of these two gigs. In 6 panel DVDdigipak. Ample stock, no need to reserve. $22.00

Genocide Organ - Live in Japan LP (Vinyl) (Tesco: Tesco077V)

Gjoll - Sum of Transformations (CD) (Ant-Zen: Act237)

On their third full length album this Icelandic project continues its ideological struggle against men's arrogance and pretend predominance. Wrathful but never nihilistic, Gjölls lyrics appeal to those who still keep an open mind, a large amount of hope, and the ability to separate right from wrong.Musically, Jóhann Eiríksson and Sigurður Harðarson have expanded their previous album's harsh eruptions into powerful ambient noise hymns and drones that are combined with a kind of post-krautrock feel. Sum of Transformations contrasts analogue guitar strokes with the digital iciness of dark and disturbing soundscapes. An outstanding release, both calming and intensely enraged at the same time. Not to be taken lightly.. $14.99

Goldenrod (Streicher + Macronympha) - Fuck You All (CD) (Industrial Recollections: IR-GOL03)

Goldenrod was an obscure collaboration campaign of Streicher, where each release was combined with source sounds of some international noise artists. In 1996, 3 different C-60 tapes were released, but when Streicher's Zero Cabal label quit their activities, the material barely reached listeners. Now Industrial Recollections is proud to present these utmost crude and nasty assaults of analogue destruction, filthy rumbles, broken electronics, and physical wreckage. Black & White covers remain faithful to original design and the sound has not been cut/edited, only transferred from tape to digital medium with best possible means.. $14.99

Goldenrod (Streicher + Odal) - Brigade Nord (CD) (Industrial Recollections: IR-GOL02)

Goldenrod was an obscure collaboration campaign of Streicher, where each release was combined with source sounds of some international noise artists. Golgatha - The Waste Land (CD) (Cold Meat Industry: CMI198)

The German ritual-folk-formation :Golgatha: was founded in 2004 by Christoph Donarski. The first full length album ‘Waste Land’ after two compilation tracks appeared in an edition of 100 hand-numbered CD-rs. Published by the musician himself it shed first light on things to come. ‘Waste Land’ is the rare prequel to the acclaimed and successful 2008-album ‘Sang Graal’ (with Dawn & Dusk Entwined) and is itself inspired by T. S. Eliot’s enigmatic grail-poem ‘The Waste Land’ which works as a key metaphor for a spiritually dying world. On “Waste Land” sinister and pessimistic soundscapes unfold and spread fragmented allusions and remarks on spiritual death and cultural clash. The symbolic name of :Golgatha: - which is the execution hill in Jerusalem where Jesus had been crucified - was never more fitting than in this early apocalyptic soundtrack for an Inner Cinema, carried by ritual drums, dark drones, mysterious sounds and sacred voices. For this re-release the original sound was totally re-mastered and appears more powerful than ever before. The original artwork is added by bleak photos from the same era to complete the image. This CD contains two original versions of tracks later remixed by Dawn & Dusk Entwined for ‘Sang Graal’. Bonus tracks: two combined tracks from ‘In the Crystal Cage’-compilation (2004) and ‘Shred your skin’ from the SAW II-soundtrack by Charlie Clouser (Trisol).‘Waste Land’ is a terrifying soundtrack for the Kali Yuga, the darkest of ages. Comes in a 6-panel digipak.. $13.99

Grunt - Peeturien Rooli (CD) (Freak Animal: FreakCD049)

Finally, after what seems like forever and a day, a new full length studio recording from the almighty Grunt! Recorded between 2007-2009, making it the longest recording task of the project so far. Peeturien presents some of the new sides of Grunt, but with the touch known from before. No harsh noise, but an innovative mixture of fierce power electronics with echoes of early 80´s Ramleh & Sutcliffe Jugend, experimental organic noise influences a la Organum & Ferial Confine, as well as heavy dominant euro PE/industrial attacks with rhythic elements and metal percussion in the vein of Vivenza, Test Dept and Militia. Exclusively Finnish language lyrics and samples, with themes related to the history of Finland from the early turbulent years of civil war to the post-WWII atmosphere. 64 minutes with 9 songs presenting a wide variety of moods, sound sources, compositions, and approaches, blended into album that could be said is unique, even in the extensive Grunt discography.. $14.99

Hadewych - Hadewych (CD) (Tuchtunie: Tuch01)

Proper re-issue of a CDr from 2007 from this very interesting one man project from the Netherlands. Extremely difficult to categorize, encompassing elements of dark ambient, post-industrial, avant-garde, and some fuzzed out drone/rock, yet transcending them all. If I were a consumer and I saw what I just wrote, I'd probably be scared to buy it - but, you shouldn't be. Peter Johan is super talented, that's obvious, so weaving between genres is not an issue and he does so with ease. The music here strikes me as very much organic and alive - vibrant yet shadowy, dark yet beautiful, and always brooding and mysterious. There's an aura that permiates this release when you listen to it, that you just don't find very often (though a quick reference would be Contrastate and Lycia, but that's not saying much). Recommended. And stick with it - it's charms don't immediately reveal themselves until you get through at least %50 of the disc... $14.77

Hall of Mirrors - Forgotten Realm (CD) (Silentes: SME0927)

Second “chapter” in the “Hall of Mirrors” saga, a project that hides the fervid minds of Giuseppe Verticchio/Nimh and Andrea Marutti/Amon. On this release they’re supported by Andrea Freschi (Subinterior, Konau…) and Andrea Ferraris (Ur, Sil Muir…), who gave their contribute with additional sound sources. Another long and fascinating journey among the ruins of lost and ancient civilizations, among desolate landscapes forgotten by time… To enrich the already busy electronic stratifications, among slowly evolving ambient sonorities and occasional parts of more sharp and “rough” elements of a Post-Industrial nature, we also find suggestive sound of reverberating flutes and dilated electric guitar parts, ending with delicate melodic arpeggios and evocative rhythmic accents of a vague cinematic taste.. $13.66

Halo Manash - Taiwaskivi CD/DVD (CD) (Aural Hypnox: AH12)

As winter hibernation and spring awakening gives way to summer, Halo Manash rises radiant into luminosity, with wings spread into all worlds, and brings forth Taiwaskivi, an opulent work of solar ambience and primordial Ur-music. Taiwaskivi, a work of sonic flame and aural ash, consists of seven interrelated tracks, utilizing such diverse instrumentation as organ, horns, vocals, drums, gongs, percussions and various string instruments as well as field-recordings captured during the pilgrimage that the creation of the work embodies. An air of finality abounds, as Taiwaskivi, although a complete work in itself, can also be viewed as the third and final facet of a tripartite series of works that are part of one holistic creation – a treelogy, with seed, root, trunk and finally, branches. Being the culmination of an ascending journey through the aforementioned realms within and without, Taiwaskivi is the celestial crown at the peak, reaching toward Sol, source and beyond; it is the leaves and fruit of the branches and their skybound nectar ever-flowing - the sacred fire, the consummation and conjunction of All. Comes in a hand finished cardboard booklet. Lmtd edition with DVD and inserts, lmtd 500 copies.. $14.99

Heimatfolk - T-Shirt (Print) (Heimatfolk: HeimTS01)

Hyios - Consuetudines (CD) (Malignant: TumorCD40)

The alluring debut from Leipzig Germany’s Hyios, Consuetudines offers 7 lengthy compositions of cold ritual drones, arching trajectories, and visceral descents into subterranean caverns, where rich, kinetic textures and deep resonant tones move and morph in a fluid, serpentine fashion, sprinkled with the debris of an ancient culture and something more otherworldly and primordial. Leipzig has historically proven to be fertile ground for dark ambient and Consuetudines continues in the fine tradition set forth by such notable acts as Inade and Herbst9. In 6 panel digipak, mastered by Secret Lab. A great new discovery.. $12.00

Imminent - Cask Strength (CD) (Ant-Zen: Act239)

Cask strength is the term used in whisky making to describe the strength of whisky (in a cask) during maturation. This strong whisky is not the one that is usually bottled, as at cask strength the whisky isn't as drinkable. Most bottled whisky is normally diluted with spring water to bring its strength (alcohol by volume) down to a level that makes it more palatable, usually about 40%. while the majority of whisky bottled by distillers is watered down, some whiskies are bottled at cask strength, which is about 64% abv.
Imminent Starvation has been a leading light in the intersection of powerful industrial music and advanced electronics. Incessant technoid rhythms, twisted electronic noise and cold, sinister atmospheric textures are the key ingredients in olivier moreau's musical spectrum. After finishing 'Nord / North' in 1999, he destroyed his mixing desk, gave away the pieces as part of the limited 'Nord' release and shortened his moniker to Imminent. After the name change he produced remixes for Sonar, Iszoloscope, Orphx and others, appeared on compilations, performed live and collaborated with Synapscape as 'The Incredible Three'. Furthermore he constantly worked on this new full length album - which has now been completed.
Like any good whisky that has to mature for at least 10 years in a cask, it took the same time for this release to maturate - and it was worth awaiting the ripening. Indeed the music is comparable to a cask strength whisky's taste: raw, aggressive, powerful, without any concession or any additive to dilute it's true nature, but it also includes a lot of complexity that awaits to be discovered by a true connoisseur. Straight beats interwoven with sophisticated breaks, brilliantly placed samples, intertwining powerful atmospheric synth textures and forceful distorted sequences (without inhibition) form into the sophisticated style of industrial music Imminent is known and loved for. 64 minutes of music - just like a 64% abv bottled cask strength whisky contains - taste it and full satisfaction is guaranteed!. $14.99

Imminent - Cask Strength Wooden Box Set Edition (CD) (Ant-Zen: Act239.1)

Cask strength cd in wooden box 20x20x2,5cm w/ laser engraving and ornaments. Limited edition. $24.99

Inade - The Incarnation of the Solar Architects (CD) (LOKI: LOKI50)

There is a world that shadows our world, a world of mysterious design and unspoken secrets, of space that breathes and infinite echoes that never cease to cry. Mirrors that refract images into dark pools of cosmic nothingness. Inade explore these worlds on their latest masterpiece, The Incarnation of the Solar Architects, in which sound is utilized in a transformative manner, not only to focus on that which lies beyond and that which has never been seen, but to embrace the Darkness and let it wash over one's soul. The mythology that Inade has created touches that place beyond forever, yet now, through the insistence of that which lurks in the margins, a metamorphosis has transpired, in which the cosmos of self has awakened. If one believes that God is everywhere, so is the Darkness that came before Him. A Darkness thriving with anonymous ideals (the possibilities are endless ... ) and devious intentions, resplendent with mystical creatures that shamble through antediluvian kingdoms constructed from polished metal, luxurious crystals, and unlimited dreams ... though one would need new eyes to see them, and new ears to hear them. Inade provide the soundtrack--the frisson of unease is abundant, a churning, seething dread that veers into awe. It's up to the individual listener to listen intently, behind shuttered eyelids ... to see and experience the true labyrinthine hierarchy of black splendor that awaits. Massive, awe-inspiring, crushing cosmic doom from the best dark ambient band in existence. A MUST!!! Those of you on the boxset list should expect an e-mail from me shortly (otherwise, please note it is %100 sold out).. $15.99

Innfallen - Three Days of Darkness (CD) (First Fallen Star: FFS004)

Collaborative effort between veteran Doyle Finley (Invercauld) and talented newcomer Kevin Scala, presenting a rich, illustrative tapestry of multi-layered soundscapes that is undeniably the soundtrack to the frightening prophecy of the "Three Days of Darkness."Slow drifts of very bleak textures and keyboard drone, sprinkled with the slithering background noise of some lurking horror. "Three Days of Darkness" is presented to you in a retro uncoated A5 digipak.. $12.00

In Scissors - Orbis Terrarum Requiem (CD) (Zoharum: Zohar008)

In Scissors actually sent me this awhile ago looking to release it on Malignant. I turned it down, mostly because it wasn't really a good fit for Malignant, but I thought about it a lot, and there's definitely some strong pieces on here (the first track alone is enough to leave quite an impression). Mostly string and woodwind based neo-classical in the more "romantic" vein rather than the bombastic vein, but flirting with aspects of ritual dark ambient. There's definitely some reference points you can make here , but In Scissors seems to have their own feel."Orbis Terrarum Requiem" in brief means "The World's Requiem" or "The Earth'sRequiem" and in the case of this album the second explanation given fits better toits concept and thematology. It is a requiem for the destruction that has befallen Earth/Nature as inflicted by humans.. $12.66

Iron Fist of the Sun - Behavioural Decline (CD) (Cold Spring: CSR116CD)

Personal obsessions skewed by drug use, codes of behaviour observed by a misanthropic mind. Bitter and cold. Nihilistic and scornful. Elitist and Pure. Behavioural Decline documents the rise of treachery and the fall of honour. Power electronics that sonically takes inspiration from electro-acoustics and ideology akin to black metal / black noise. A deeply personal recording. $13.00

Jahrtal - William Blake ~ Lieder von Unschuld und Widerfahren (CD) (Ahnstern: Ahnstern39)

This is the second album by the Austrian Psychedelic-Folk artist Jahrtal. The man behind Jahrtal is Ewald Spiss, a artist from Tyrol, who already started doing electro-acoustic music and sound-installations in the early 80ies. Jahrtal today is authentic psychedelic Folk music, maybe only compareable with In Gowan Ring. The lyrics of the second album are poems of "Songs Of Innocence and Of Experience" by the english poet William Blake (1757-1827), translated by Ewald Spiss, as near as possible to the original Blake-texts.. $13.77

At last, Karjalan Sissit return after 4 years of relative silence with their most obscure and harshest work ever. Fucking whore society is an anger and Vodka fueled bombastic opus inspired by the world's psychopathic state. A revolt against the cruel and sickly ways of today’s society and a visceral and personal statement denouncing betrayal. Karjalan Sissit have masterfully expanded their signature sound with dense ambient passages and unsettling vocals all combined with their intensely unique orchestral passages, presenting us their best and most intense work yet. Produced by Peter Bjärgö (Arcana / Sophia)Edition of 2000 copies In A5 gatefold cardboard sleeve.. $12.99

Kawabata Makoto - The Tales of the Dream Planet (CD) (Housepig: Hpig015)

mastermind behind Acid Mothers Temple (and a zillion other projects) parked his spaceship long enough to fish this cd out of his beard and give it Housepig, before closing the hatch and rocketing back into the stratosphere. What he brought back from the Dream Planet is two tracks of long, overlapping guitar drones; glacially melodic, meditative and a touch otherworldly. Curl up in your favorite dashiki, let your hair hang down, fire up some incense (or anything else) and let Kawabata spin you a tale! This cd is presented in a dvd-style clear poly case with full-color four-panel jacket, and is limited to 500 copies.. $11.33

Land:Fire - Shortwave Transmission (CD) (Power & Steel: PAS25)

Coming back with an all new album after more than 5 years the alter ego of Herbst9 delivers another outstanding soundtrack about radiological warfare and it's debris during the last century. SWT is like a massive energy spike with a surrounding maelstrom of machine noises, rhythms, interferences and electromagnetic waves. The complex arrangement of technical sounds creates a deadly atmosphere of fallout and devastated landscapes with an apocalyptic aura reflected by dissonant harmonies and deep shimmering ambient scapes. Presented in a 6 panel digipak. Mastered by Andreas Wahnmann (First Law). $15.33

Lethe - Catastrophe Point #5 (CD) (Intransitive Records: INT034)

Catastrophe Point #5 is the latest in Kuwayama Kiyoharu’s signature series of compositions that explore the charged, mysterious atmosphere of disused industrial sites. For this album, Lethe turns his attention to an abandoned warehouse by a pier in his hometown of Nagoya, Japan, using objects discovered in situ to perform a ritual of sonic resurrection. He brings a dead space back to life, giving it a voice and allowing it to speak. Metal chains, sheet metal, broken machinery, and factory debris are bowed, struck, and dragged across the concrete floors of the massive hall, reverberating and responding as Kuwayama and his microphones scuttle across the desolate terrain. Growling cello and unstable horns underscore the torrents of percussive clatter. Catastrophe Point #5 is a haunting album of volatile, malevolent ambiance.. $12.75

Lionel Marchetti & Seijiro Murayama - Hatali Atslei (L’Echange des Yeux) (CD) (Intransitive Records: INT031)

For his second Intransitive album, Lionel Marchetti returns to his favorite subject: the modern musique concrete composer as shaman. Amid an atmosphere of heavy mystery and engrossing, sublime confusion, Hatali Atsalei (L’Echange des Yeux) seems to be informed by radio drama, improvisation, and documentary recording. According to Olivier Capparos’ liner notes, the album provides a “rather faithful“ experience of Ancient Greek ritual: Hatali Atseli, the exchange of eyes. Marchetti the alchemist takes the listener to the scene of an imaginary sacred rite, drawing us in with hints of narrative, only to throw expectations aside with the slice of razor on tape. Fire, water, wind instruments and percussion are blended with the voice of collaborator Seijiro Murayama to create something which is not quite a representation of ritual, but is a ritual itself that becomes completed by the act of listening.. $12.75

Macronympha - Amplified Humans (CD) (Industrial Recollections: IR-Macro01)

One of three re-issues of this legendary harsh noise unit Macronympha, published at the same time to give a diverse presentation of the Macro sound. Considered by many to be Macronympha's best tape, this is two long tracks of crashing wreckage, utilizing scrap metal, loops, high end shrieks, low end rumble, mid-level crunch and all points in between. A relentless onslaught of listenable destruction. Mastered directly from original master tapes. With black/white artwork in jewelbox, reprinting original covers." - Industrial Recollections.. $14.99

Macronympha - Baroque (CD) (Industrial Recollections: IR-Macro02)

One of three re-issues of this legendary harsh noise unit Macronympha, published at the same time to give a diverse presentation of the Macro sound. Baroque was originally intended to be released on SFCR/Armed and Loaded, but that never materialized and so it was released on cassette and ltd to 100 copies. Huge, roiling noise scapes here - corrosive and crunchy as hell, with scrap metal clangs colliding head on with low-end rumble, loops, cut-ups, psychedelic free form madness, and electronic screeching. Sound from master tapes, with black/white artwork in jewelbox, reprinting original covers. Industrial Recollections.. $14.99

Macronympha - Notes from Underground (CD) (Industrial Recollections: IR-Macro03)

One of three re-issues of this legendary harsh noise unit Macronympha, published at the same time to give a diverse presentation of the Macro sound. Notes From Underground offers the more straight forward rumbling distorted noise assault. Two master tape versions existed of this release, and chosen was the one with more detail & dynamics as opposed to slightly more blown up compressed one that may be also in circulation. Mastered directly from original master tapes. With black/white artwork in jewelbox, reprinting original covers.". $14.99

Macronympha - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (CD) (Trash Ritual: Trash050)

The long-awaited CD reissue of this LP, originally released by Praxis Dr. Bearmann in 1995—one of the key foundations of the contemporary direction of noise. "Rusted Steel And Rotted Flesh" is restored to its full, uncut length (just under 45 minutes). "Western Pennsylvania is a graveyard. No ideas or worthwhile activities exist in this decaying nightmare of horror and stupidity. Just hatred and broken lives. The native population is an indigenous mutation of inbred sickness and mental corruption. Someday everyone and everything here will die a miserable death. That day cannot come soon enough." Edition of 500 copies. For me, one of the seminal noise recordings. Classic stuff, though you'll miss the full out poster that came with the original. $11.66

Maeror Tri - Multiple Personailty Disorder (CD) (Purple Soil: PS33)

Of all the Maeror Tri stuff that's been re-issued, it's amazing that this, their very first CD, took so long. Aside from a short intro, MPD offers 4 slabs of pulsating rumbles, slithering textures, transcendental drones, and atmospheric washes of sound done in the classic MT style.. $13.00

Manifest - Reunion Psyche CDr (CD) (Shadowgraph: Shadow03)

Delirious, surreal atmospheres filled with disembodied female voices and sounds, forged in an almost fractured, collaged manner with haunting melodies and creepy, nightmare infused noises drifting in and out of the mix. Hard to find a real comparison here, but there’s definitely a nod to the dada-istic sound manipulation of Nurse With Wound.. $10.66

Martin Bladh - Study for a Theater of Cruelty (CD) (Annihilvs: Apex006)

This is the long-delayed and anticipated solo release by the genius frontman of Swedish industrial legends IRM. Aktionist, provocateur, visionary: Martin Bladh has composed an eerie score for impossible performance art, incorporating sparse, stringed drones, singular, penetrating tones, and chilling atmospheres similar to Bladh's work with performance artist Bo I. Cavefors.. $11.33

Maurizio Bianchi - Ludium (CD) (Silentes: SME1033)

A long and almost “solemn” track built with reverberated piano notes, a slow and rhythmical flow leaned on a background made of clashing hisses and vague, distant, rustling ambient noises… A brief interval based on obscure drones moving in circles, inexorably entangled on themselves… Therefore another long piano-based track, this time more dilated, confused, ethereal and prim, so much that it takes the distinguishing features of an indecipherable sonic mass, abstract and booming, estranging, deep and psychedelic…A few and minimal elments, “directed” in a masterly fahion and assembled in an absolutely fundamental work, from the brightest mind of Italian experimental scene and of all the music “without compromises” of the last thirty years.. $12.66

Mauthausen Orchestra - Sonic Deprivation (CD) (Silentes: SME0930)

A selection of archive materials from the "golden age" of Mathausen Orchestra, the Italian power-electronic project born in the early 80s from the mind of Pierpaolo Zoppo, recently back in full to his artistic activity. These six tracks collected from his very first cassette releases (Murderfuck, Mafarka, Anal Perversion, Host Sodomy, From Homicide to Slaughter) are released in a completely restored and remastered edition that finally does justice in full to the incredible and futuristic visions of one of the most significant Italian experimental artists of the last thirty years. Unthinkable and apocalyptic sonic masses pushed to the extreme, an endless flux of strong emotions, a violent and devastating impact.. $13.75

Mauthausen Orchestra/Nimh - From Unhealthy Places (CD) (Silentes: SME0932)

Collaborative work between the Italian legend MO and lesser known Nimh. 3 long tracks of psychotic, tormenting drones, crashing waves of delirious textures and powerful factory noise. Awesome. There's an emotional quality and intensity here that's almost awe inspiring.. $13.99

Mezire - Electronic Warfare 3inch CDr (CD) (L-White: LW-58)

5 tracks of German power electronics in the vein of Control and to some degree Ex.Order. Somewhat minimalistic, but heavy and very threatening, with writhing, distortion filled pulsations mixed with some processed vocals and samples and packed with intensity. A great new discovery in a genre that needs some new blood. Recommended!! Lmtd 200, in mini DVD case.. $12.66

NDE - Krieg Blut Ehre Asche (CD) (Cold Spring: CSR110CD)

Debut from this Belgian duo. Like the dark solitary figure which adorns the cover, NDE are shrouded in mystery and desolation. No website. No myspace. No contact details. The music speaks loudly and across the centuries. A unique smelting of malevolent, noisy Black Metal, pounding, anthemic martial drums and wretched Death Industrial in eight acts. $11.66

Osoka - Caustic Smoke (CD) (Rage in Eden: Rage68)

Debut album of Russian experimental rock group Osoka, based in Rostov-on-Don. Their sound draws from influences ranging from sludge and doom metal, with stoner rock background to dark ambient and industrial music on the other pole. It can be referred to post-rock, post-metal. The band inspirations are Cult of Luna, Neurosis, Isis, Meatjack, Khanate, Nadja, Sunn O))), Halo. "Caustic Smoke" is one expanded track, 45 minutes long, slow, repetitive and crushing, with heavy sections of distorted guitars often interspersed with dark ambient and industrial interludes. Painforged/Gnaw Their Tongues - A Confession of Worshipping the Depraved and Perverse Human Psyche....CDr (CD) (Shadowgraph: Shadow05)

Lmtd 100 split CDr. Most of you will probably buy this for the GTT side of things, but will discover some really horrifying, blackened doom from Painforged in the process. 3 tracks of sludgeing bass, growling vocals, and nightmarish atmospherics offering absolutely no sliver of light. GTT needs no description.. $9.66

Panther Modern - Sex Murders CDr (CD) (Scrape Tapes: Scrape015)

Any attempt to pidgeonhole the New Jersey based trio Panther Modern's latest opus and second full length album is futile. "Sex Murders" is a phrase used by Don DeLillo in White Noise to describe mass hysteria during a public event. In the past, Panther Modern has tried to live the hysteria inherent within noise by making a project based around cultural terrorism, Satanism, and free improvisation, i.e., the most important things in life. Sex Murders documents their most successful experiments to date in over 3 years of dedicated debauch. Sex Murders transgresses through blackened noise, power electronics, metal percussion, industrial filth and doom all held together with pyschedelic lulling synthesizers and even harsh noise wall, but all heard through the hypnagogic vortex. Live the dream until your life becomes a nightmare from which you cannot awaken.Limited to a hand numbered edition of 100 copies. Labeled disc comes packaged in a black glossy card sleeve with pro-printed front and back covers, sealed in a plastic wallet.. $10.66

Persona - Ruines (CD) (Marbe Negra: MN04)

After multiple comp appearances and several CDrs (as well as a collaboration with Eldar on their CMI CD), here we have the formal debut of this Spanish male/female duo.Stylistically this is pretty varied - the bane of my existence when I have to write my own review for the catalog. But, it's made easier by the fact that Persona manages to do all styles very well over the course of Ruines 19 (!) tracks. So, what do have here exactly? Really, a bit of everything - pagan style ritual ambient (think early Wolfskin to some degree), gothic twinged neo-classical with soaring strings and angelic vocals, martial orchestrations, and passages of some good old fashioned industrial clangor. Put that all together and you'd think it wouldn't work, and yet it does - as long as you don't get settled into one mood for too long a stretch. In beautifully designed digipak with 20 page booklet.. $13.66

Peter Bjärgö - A Wave of Bitterness (CD) (Kalinkalad Records: KAL36)

Debut release of this solo project of Peter Bjargo, known of course as the mastermind behind Arcana. 9 stunningly beautiful and sombre tracks that will certainly appeal to fans of Arcana and Dead Can Dance; haunting, ethereal atmospheres peppered with ethno-ritual percussion and rich, flowing timbres and melodies. It doesn't get more gorgeous than this.. $14.66

Raison d'Etre - The Stains of the Embodied Sacrifice (CD) (Cold Meat Industry: CMI202)

Finally back in! 'The Stains of the Embodied Sacrifice' is not only vibrating on the surface of your skin. It is alive and breathing, a creature with a knife that cut deep wounds in your body while your soul shatters for air. It is a psychosomatic and transgressive disease opressed by a compulsive behaviour manifested in dualities - the one of your body and mind - and states of metamorphoses - mind becomes flesh become wounds become fluids become stains. Play it loud if you want to become the martyr. Play it low if you are the innocent victim. There are no levels in-between. Violent and intense, it is a hell of an ordeal. But withstand and you are promised bliss.'The Stains of the Embodied Sacrifice' is the new full-length studio album by raison d'être.. $14.33

Ramleh - Valediction (CD) (Second Layer: SLR004)

The first all new Ramleh album since 1997, and the first new power electronics recordings from the project for 25 years. And yet Valediction is no ordinary “power electronics” record, nor is it anything as straightforward as simply a return to their roots. Valediction is very much an entity of its own – both consolidating and expanding upon everything Ramleh have touched on in the past, but also digging into entirely fresh ground for the band. Valediction is, perhaps, Ramleh’s most bleakly psychedelic creation so far. Comes in a 4-panel gatefold sleeve with 8 page booklet with photos and cut-up lyrics from some of the tracks. Limited to 1000 copies.. $13.66

Re-Drum - S (CD) (Zoharum: Zohar007)

New work by Pavel Aleshin whose previous recordings were released by Oophoi's record label Umbra and Slovakia-based Black Orchid Productions. This album explores the area of sacral and infinite, hence the title. S can be seen as the symbol of them. 4 long tracks of experimental drone-scapes using various sound sources (or so at seems) and incorporating melodies and some ritual nuances. Fans of Troum, Maeror Tri, and should find something to like here.. $12.66

Roma Amor - Femmina (CD) (Old Europa Café: OECD122)

Second album from this Italian duo. Terrific, totally authentic and well done noir-cabaret. Think smokey cafe on a dark Roman side street, this is the music of old Europa - romantic, sombre and melancholy with it's steady accordian drone, raspy female vocals, and gentle guitar melodies.. $14.33

Rome - Flowers in Exile (CD) (Trisol: TRI362)

FINALLY in stock. With ‘Flowers from Exile’, the Luxembourgish folk formation ROME surpass their work to date, which already includes three full-length albums in just a few years. Just as early releases were apocalyptic and aggressive in nature, the expressionistically-tinged CD ‘Masse Mensch Material’ (2008) could be said to have a revealed inner vision. ROME’s universe was expanded by proud resignation and sweet melancholy. The latest album, ‘Flowers from Exile’ (2009) goes a step further in this direction. Similar to the early albums of the legendary songwriter Leonard Cohen, stories from the (inner) exile are told here with fatalistic gestures and dark timbre; of the longing for a lost homeland, of loneliness and eternal travels, but also of unexpected friends far away and the actual homeland in your own heart. Songs such as ‘The Secret Sons of Europe’ or ‘To Die Among Strangers’ (which was previously released as a CD single) form a song cycle full of metaphors for estrangement – the poetry of longing. Highly detailed arrangements use the sound of the flamenco guitar as well as mysterious samples, pulsating beats and sad melodies. In ROME’s songs there lives a stoic sense of the melodramatic. As well as Cohen, one must look to icons such as Tom Waits and late Johnny Cash in order to be able to describe the lyrics and voice of Jerome Reuter. ‘Flowers from Exile’ is just as much an emotional as a critical work. The personally stamped album of a modern singer-songwriter which tells of journeys both within and without. Jerome Reuter’s moving vocals and Patrick Damiani’s complex musical arrangements leave the musical roots of folk far behind and send these ‘flowers from exile’ to all listeners who are willing and capable of feeling the dignity, the hope and the pride behind the lyrics and who are prepared to recognise themselves in those restless spirits whom the twelve part song cycle conjures up. Into the heart…. $14.66

Re-edition of long deleted legendary CDR release. This time comes only in handmade wodden box limited to 118 copies! Dedicated to the remembrance of the 118 members of the crew of the Russian nuclear submarine Kursk that sunk on the 12th of August 2000 in the Barentsz Sea. Sachiko - zUnya (CD) (Musik Atlach: MA006)

Live recording from the Summer of 2008 from vocal performer Sachiko. Grimey, rust filled factory drones developing into organic, psychedlic swarms of sound and then later, ghostly vocalizations. For those that remember, this sort of reminds me (at least the early part) of Chop Shop, whereas the latter part comes with a sort of Aghast quality.. $14.99

Sect - Imperative (CD) (Rage in Eden: Rage69)

With his second album Lukasz Maj, the man behind Sect, has returned with his strongest and most mature work to date. This time we get more bombastic and often militant orchestral and industrial music than on the debut. Sect managed to expand his ideas and turn them into classical orchestration, so with "Imperative" we get mature, powerful orchestral piece of music in the vein of Arditi, Sophia or Predella Avant. The majestic, threatening, dark and sometimes aggressive and fierce symphonic sounds arranged in a dark concept album with a brilliant balance of bombastic and melancholic fragments should satisfy both martial industrial fanatics and neo-classical orchestra enthusiasts.. $14.99

Sektor 304 - Soul Cleansing (CD) (Malignant: TumorCD43)

Equipped with a frightening and impressive array of primitive instrumentation pulled from junkyards and scrap metal heaps, this Portuguese outfit has delivered an astounding formal debut – a heady mixture of truly old school industrial in the vein of Einsturzende Neubauten, Test Dept , and S.P.K , and the grinding, bass heavy dirge of vintage Swans and Godflesh . These are anthems to the past, but geared towards an apocalyptic and bleak future… a form of counter-culture using what is most evident in modern western society: the debris, the abandoned objects, the waste, the noise, and the interference.
With a solid foundation of rusty, oil drenched percussion, Sektor 304 adds layer upon layer of squalling industrial clangor, hammering metallic noise, grimy atmospheres, heaving masses of haunted factory drones, and threatening tribal batter, with a strong and commanding vocal presence. The sound here is almost physical in nature – provocative, persistent, and demanding. No one is doing what Sektor 304 is doing right now. Anyone into TRUE industrial (and that includes not just the aformentioned old guard, but also things like Strom.ec , Militia, Negru Voda , and Knifeladder ) really should not miss out.In 6 panel digipak, mastered by Steel Hook Audio. 3 tracks posted on the Malignant myspace, so be sure to check them out if you want an idea of what Sektor brings to the table. $12.00

Shift - Sleep Paralysis (CD) (Freak Animal: FreakCD048)

Re-issue of the tape done by Freak Animal not so long ago. A landmark in Shifts discography. Heaviness, slowness, heavily processed vocals, deep throbbing synths... Somewhere between power electronics, death industrial, heavy drone, not fitting exactly to the easy sub-genres, but suitable for anyone appreciating dark and heavy electronics. Full color covers in jewelbox. Freak Animal. $14.95

Skinwell - Tunnels (CD) (Angle Rec: AR0506)

On Skinwell's Tunnels, Christian Corvellec and Martin Dumais serve up an hour-long exercise in industrial ambient-noise dronescaping, with the emphasis more on the ambient than noise side of the equation. “Orcvent” proves that the two are eminently capable of working up an apocalyptic roar when the mood strikes, but the track eschews the harrowing screech of a prototypical Merzbow assault for something less obliterating. Likewise, the cyclonic “Theodolite” churns relentlessly for nine minutes without ever reaching a pain-inducing pitch. Dumais (multi-slab processing, analog melodic extractions) and Corvellec (initial templates and layers, digital processing) ensnare the listener with cycling patterns and machine-like pulsations, much of it smothered in foggy textures and gnarly noise. A steady pitch of controlled squalls and unearthly industrial rumble opens “Floor” but gradually a bruising, indomitable throb moves to the forefront to eventually overpower the other sounds. In “Dissiminate,” a careening ghost-like specter hums at the center of cyclonic thrums and ear-piercing pitches, while the comparatively gentler “Fissionned” stretches its piano-like streams through softly crackling whooshes of static and hum as synthetic swoops ring out in the distance. Skinwell saves its deepest plunge, “Grim Coast,” for last, at which point the duo works up a steam-shop factory sweat for a good seventeen minutes. Textura.. $12.33

Splinterskin - Wayward Souls (CD) (Cold Spring: CSR114)

Caught in the oblivious borderland, Splinterskin unveils his spell after years of solitude and hermetic isolation, in the form of a harsh, dark folk music. His tales are told using an old classical guitar accompanied by haunting vocals, violin, and soothing whispers cradled in the delicate atmospheres of autumn. With simple yet mystically riddled lyrics that beckon, Splinterskin taunts the listener with hidden meanings, allegorical concepts, nearly indescribable deep feelings, and a sense of universal understanding only a spirit as Splinterskin could possibly weave together as music.‘Wayward Souls’ is a collection of tales blending life and death, entities & creatures, hidden wisdom, unknown places, pain and suffering, folklore, possession, insanity, nature and the dark world that surrounds. With tales such as 'Dancing Dead Men,' 'The Thing that Wasn't,' and 'Chanting Bells Call Shadows', one can only suspect the moods are of a dark, moody and nightmarish nature...yet, there are no words to truly describe Splinterskin's message or music. $12.33

Svartsinn - Elegies for the End 2CD (CD) (Cyclic Law: 26thCycle)

The 4th by Norwegian dark ambient act, Svartsinn, shows a more melodic yet rather obscure side of the artist. 2009 is the 10th year of Svartsinn's existence and it has inspired Pettersen to try a different approach and to experiment with some new ideas. This new musical journey deals with sadness and melancholy, about not knowing one's place in this vast and at times uninviting world, how it can become a daily torment to not be able to find one's reason to exist. And it's also about finding one's personal path, finding ways to endure and hopefully transcend these engulfing life challenges. The Double CD includes a unique collaboration track with Dahlia's Tear and a 10 years anniversary bonus disc containing exclusive remixes by Triarii, Kammarheit, Letum, Life Toward Twilight, Gustaf Hildebrand, Tenebrious, New Risen Throne, MGriffin, Visions and Hovmod. All acts giving very interesting perspectives on some of Svartsinn's previously released tracks, making this second disc a very special homage to the singular world of Svartsinn.Edition of 1000 copies in 8 panel foldout cardboard sleeve.. $12.88

Taphephobia - Black City Skyline CDR (CD) (Reverse Alignment: RA7)

3rd album from this Norwegian act led by former Northaunt member Ketil Söraker. The Joy of Nature - The Empty Circle Part II - Rastos de Sangue e fragmentos da Tradicao (CD) (Ahnstern: Ahnstern38)

"Rastos de Sangue e fragmentos da Tradição" (Trails of Blood and fragments of The Tradition) is the second part of the trilogy "The Empty Circle" by The Joy of Nature. It reflects and gathers fragments of the Perennial Tradition. Naturally, it is also about the Spiritual inheritance of the Portuguese ancestors. Musically, it's the most song-orientated The Joy of Nature release until now, with its roots in the folk tradition of rural Portuguese regions (it includes three covers of traditional songs), especially the Azores. the album is not just a Folk-album, it also has several amazing psychedelic moments. In this second part a lot more instruments were used and more musicians collaborated, like R. Coutinho, B. Ardo (Sangre Cavallum), Rui Almeida (Massa Última), Triarca, Mara Neves and M.J. Not only a reaction against the modern world, but an alternative to this post-modern world. The Joy of Nature is a multimedia project from the Azores, with music as its main focus (the Azores are a group of 9 islands between Europe and North America, belonging to Portugal) . It was created in 1999 as "The Joy of Nature and Discipline", and reduced to "The Joy of Nature" in 2006, following a change in its sound - more organic and acoustic. Musically, "The Joy of Nature" is like a serpent always renewing itself - never resting in one shape, changing the form but keeping the same essence. 14 songs / 65 min.. $12.99

Theme - Valentine (Lost) Forever (CD) (Heart & Crossbones: HCB023)

The third album from Theme, a band comprised of Stuart Carter, Jeanne Boyer and Richard Johnson (from'90s influential industrial-experimental band Splintered and head of the Lumberton Trading Company label), is a hallucinogenic intersection, where the exploration of twilight spaces, dreams, bitter reflections and hopes collide with a sense of escape (to better places?) or an abandoned 'self', either lost or searching for much needed identity. More 'song'-based than their previous album, on Valentine (Lost) Forever Theme often witnesses barbed yet oblique words cut-up and formed into mantras over a mesh of cascading drones, textures, blissed-out guitar strums, submerged tamboura, metallic sheets of electronic frah, occasional drum pounds and chilling swells 'n' flecks of musique concrete. Overall, it catches the group exploring their environment, in more senses than one, with renewed vigour and nothing but questions left either open-ended or vying for interpretation. It's a world of rubble, dust and sprawling collapse, psychological or otherwise, screaming for meaning and purpose in a world gone mad where inner conflicts, vulnerability and regret are drowned in vast existential pools... With an additional remix by ex-Siouxsie & the Banshees bass player Steven Severin, this genuine album offers an apocalyptic sound mirage that recalls the experimental and post industrial works of Contrastate first and foremost, but also Throbbing Gristle and Coil, as well as the occult-like numbness of Current 93, the bleak avant-electronica of Andrew Liles and the psychedelic drones furrowed by the group's own previous work in both Splintered and Theme. In that sense, Valentine (Lost) Forever is a definite masterpiece in the ever-evolving legacy of the U.K. industrial scene, and if this is the end, then it's time to burn the truth.. $11.33

The Vomit Arsonist - Wretch (CD) (Cipher Productions: Sic57)

"Wretch" is brought to you in partnership with Cipher Productions and represents a journey through the mind of Andrew Grant, aka The Vomit Arsonist. A decidedly personal and unnerving recording, "Wretch" was written during a period of mental instability that lasted nearly two years. The result is a release that bleeds raw emotion: loss, hatred, self-loathing, and reflection; starting at rock bottom with waves of dark ambience, grim death industrial, and quietly spoken words, moving further into the depths of a tortured mind. The result is a gradual advance into forceful, vengeful power electronics.. $10.66

Trait (aka Eric Lunde) - Inspirationals (CD) (Industrial Recollections: IR-EL01)

Back in 1988 Arbeit Group released obscure industrial-noise release by a project called Trait. The A-side of the tape included several different arrangements for inspiration in battle. The B-side included several of those arrangements combined together for temporary unified action. 45 minutes of the most primitive analogue destruction, leaving no place for easy listening or relaxing moments. Coarse sounds of tape loops, manipulation and electronics make this into difficult industrial-noise. Trait is one of the most vicious works of Eric Lunde (Boy Dirt Car). The material has been transferred from the original master tapes by the artist himself, leaving everything 100% as is. The artwork is faithful to the original release, replicating the it as accurately as possible.. $14.95

Transitional - Stomach of the Sun (CD) (Conspiracy Records: Core080)

Stomach of the Sun serves up as an excellent full length reply to last years debut release " nothing real, nothing absent ". Over an hours journey through a sonic universe of 9 tracks all of which give you different possibilities and range of what this band can produce. From devouring linear drones, lush melancholy to pure unadulterated rage experienced through a back drop of churning rhythms, using Cohesive experimental recording techniques combined with discordant world eating riffs enveloped in a signature approach to atmosphere and interspersing melody making a truly individual record. The line up consists again of musican/producer Kevin Laska on guitar/voice/electronics/synth and drum programming, who's probably best known work before transitional was with Anthony Di Franco ( ex- skullflower ) as Novatron. Dave Cochrane( who's past and present credits to name a few include Head of David, jesu, Greymachine and God) on Basses. This record also sees the introduction of Phil Petrocelli to the band (whos past and present credits include, to name a few, Trey Gunn, The living Jarboe, fear falls burning and Bill Laswell) appearing on drums on several tracks throughout the record. Mastered by Justin K Broadrick.. $13.33

Treha Sektori - Sorieh (CD) (Kaosthetik: KSTK008)

Black, ritual ambient with whispered voices, nightmarish atmospheres, and an overall feeling of bleakness, claustrophobia and desolation. For fans of the earlier CMI sound and to some degree, Aural Hypnox.. $13.00

Triore - Three Hours (CD) (Eternal Soul: ESCD10)

This fairytale started to unravel four years ago with the release of Triarii’s “Piece Heroique” (ES-05). A sinister seed was planted in the fertile soil of northern Europe as Christian Erdmann (Triarii) and Tomas Pettersson (Ordo Rosarius Equilibrio) gave birth to the track “Roses 4 Rome”. And now finally, the progeny has been conceived and fully developed; and what they call TriORE, has ultimately been born. Both participants go beyond themselves and step out of normal character, but TriORE is nonetheless the embodiment of all that which is Triarii, and all that which is Ordo Rosarius Equilibrio; like a succulent apple in two opposite pieces just waiting to be devoured. The bombastic touch of Triarii is still there; the string sections, the choirs, the martial drums and much more; alongside the eloquence of Ordo Rosarius Equilibrio, musically, melodically, as well as lyrically. This is what all lovers of both bands have been waiting for, a complete forty minutes of Art Deco Industrial Pop. This work begins where Roses 4 Rose left us, and takes all the way from the rising of victory, through the trenches and all the way till Europa falls. This is the lmtd edition with slipcard and two inserts. Sorry about the price, but the dollar blows (yet again) right now.. $17.33

Troum - Sigqan (CD) (Transgredient: TR-06)

Troum re-releases their mysteriously alluring Sigqan on Transgredient Records. These three part live sessions were originally recorded in 2002 and released on Desolation House records a year later. Sigqan which means “sinking” or “to sink” in old Germanic Goth unravels time with abyssmal washes of hypnotic layered strings and atmospheres that encapsulate your senses for sixty-three minutes. These compositions reveal some of their best live studio work in the past decade making this well worth a re-release!. Alan McClelland. $13.33

Troum/Asia Nova/Voice of Eye - Actualization (CD) (Diskorporeality: Diskorp02)

This CD presents 3 live collaborative tracks from Troum, Asia Nova and Voice of Eye at Fundus in Weingarten, Germany, 2007. The fourth track documents another first-time collaboration with Troum / S.Q.E. / Ure Thrall live on KFJC Radio, 2001. As you might expect, this is pretty orgasmic stuff - mind expanding sonic explorations full of shimmering drones, celestial swellings, and dense clouds of spaced out effects. A must, naturally. No image at this time. $12.00

Vargr - Aldebran (CD) (205 Recordings: 205REC893)

Third (and most secretive) part of the Ave Maria/Orsic Trilogy, gives us four tracks of scorching brutality, full of steroidal frequency drones, flatulent blasts of lower end noise-grind, and general electronic abuse.. $12.66

Various Artists - Dark Ambient Radio Vol. II (CD) (Dark Ambient Radio: DAR2)

This compilation is the result of almost one year of careful design and polishing of cutting-edge dark ambient songs, good cooperation, and intense competition. After already releasing a very good compilation with Vol.1, Dark Ambient Radio managed to raise the level with this superb collection of dark ambient music. This is not a big surprise since the 11 songs on the CD were selected out of 26 quality tracks that have been submitted during 2008 and would have been sufficient to release a good 2CD compilation. The selection of the tracks was a painful but fair process as the participating artists voted for the tracks individually and the agglomerated rating decided which tracks ended up on the compilation. So you can be sure that there is no weak track on the CD. All tracks have been done exclusively for this compilation. Featuring: Tholen, Inner Vision Laboratory, Aspectee, Phelios, Crepuscular, Nagual Art, Troum, Phobos, False Mirror, and more!. $12.00

Various Artists - Tension State of Collapsing-HoustonNoise Compilation 2CD (CD) (Industrial Recollections: IR-TSC1)

The years 1995-1996 could be described as the golden years of Texas noise. Proof of this, were these two compilations, curated by Richard Ramirez, and originally released on Chaotic Noise Productions, in tiny editions almost 15 years ago. Known for it's harshness and simple ear assaulting qualities, these compilations showed the nightmarish industrial-noise edge of clanging metal, tape manipulations, fierce feedback, and brutal samples. 2 hours with 28 tracks. Slave Labor, Kaibatsu, Electro Anal Kink, Limacon, Infant Erection, Black Leather Jesus, Rotten Piece, Threshold of Sleep, Scrotal Termites, Manplug, Mass Murder Media, Stab Range and many more! Both compilations are presented with original line-up´s. Volume levels have been corrected, but otherwise sound left untouched to reflect the mood of the original tapes. Voice of Eye - Emergence & Immersion 2CD (CD) (Old Europa Café: OECD123)

In 2007 Voice of Eye ended their 12-year silence with 2 CD-R improvisation volumes, released for their European tour in editions of only 100 each. Now those impossible-to-find, extremely limited releases are finally available on factory-pressed CD’s! Between the 2CDs (Emergence and Immersion) we're presented with over 2 1/2 hours of blissful, impossibly vast and spaced out psychedelic soundscapes in the classic VoE fashion - all completely improvised and spontaneous, though it seems amazingly composed. For those that were a bit turned off by the more structured aspects of Seven Directions (I know you're out there), this is more in line with their earlier releases; music more beautiful and wondrous than you could ever imagine, yet wrapped in warping vortex of darkness and fear. A large array of instruments are used here including guitars, trombone, flutes, double-reeds, percussion, voices as well as Voice of Eye’s self-made instruments: Squawk Box, Bass-Thing, Jeemna, Thing and Thing-mini. Comes in a 2CD digifolder , re- mastered with a new bonus track, “Peacock Symphony”Step into the vortex !. $16.66

Wicked King Wicker - God is Busy....Save Yourself (CD) (Cold Spring: CSR125)

Wicked King Wicker is pure doom. Their brand of guttural expression strips away the rock n roll base and leaves nothing for the listener than the caustic reality of the darkest side of life. It is heavy, barbaric and void of hope. Wicked King Wicker has taken the power of doom metal and added noise to mix to make its point. “God Is Busy… Save Yourself” is their 6th album, and their first released outside of the U.S. Wicked King Wicker is unique, and their extreme doom stands alone as the heaviest, most brutal doom imaginable and it may take you places you don’t want to go.. $13.00
