Bad Sector - Chronoland ( Power & Steel: PAS30)
This new album of Massimo Magrini is the soundscape for a mind movie and another masterpiece that picks up where the previous work CMASA left off. Twelve beautifully crafted chapters of music segueing between morphing layers of thick drones, haunting melodies and crackling vocal transmissions. Chronoland unfolds a fascinating and cineastic atmosphere of frightening ambient melodica with dark soundwaves deeply imbedded in the music and bursts of electro-acoustic effects. This release is another step forward into the sound cosmos of Massimo Magrini with new directions but always in the unique way of BAD SECTOR.. $12.67

Bad Sector - CMASA CD ( Power & Steel: PAS23)
In 2005 Massimo Magrini was invited to provide a soundtrack for the M3M art exhibition in Pisa/Italy. The exhibition was based around images of the seaside and the rivers estuary of Pisana area with CMASA airplane factory built there in it's centre vis a vis of archaic marine cottages. This marvelous seaside scenery mixed with vintage industrial locations, together with some kind of nostalgia, created an unexpected but amazing mood. To sculpture a soundtrack of this scenery Massimo Magrini was asked to use acoustic and natural sounds too and so he added for this work treated piano and snippets of acoustic guitars together with water sounds and metal samples. This may sound unusual for a BAD SECTOR release but all those new elements are perfectly blended into the massive and ambient soundwaves for what previous releases are known for and making CMASA probably to the most emotional album of Massimo Magrini to date. All initial exhibition sounds where regenerated, remastered and re-assembled during 2007-2009. $12.67

Bad Sector - Kosmodrom 2CD Box ( Power & Steel: PAS33)
Originally released in 2005 as a limited CD and CD/MCD edition which has long since sold out. Now available again - remastered and expanded! The 2xCD box includes the original album and the MCD with five extra tracks, which turns the second disc into an additional full length release. Includes 12-page booklet.
In Bad Sector's 20 years of existence. Massimo Magrini has developed a sound aesthetic of harmonious sonic drones that marked its beginning with the first album Ampos in 1995. Many releases and a decade later the ground breaking work Kosmodrom was published and sold out within a few months. Dedicated to Konstantin Tsiolkovsky, the Russian pioneer of astronautic theory, the key element in Bad Sector's´s music (bringing together science and sound) was brought into the foreground with this release. Original Soviet sound devices like the Aelita synthesizer and the electro-optical ANS (which Coil also worked with) were mixed with heavily processed sources from space missions, adding an unearthly human dialogue to the electronics. The sounds on Kosmodrom are deep and droning, pulsating and constantly flowing with processed rhythmic sequences, supported by a bed of radio signal recordings. A timeless masterpiece of deep ambient electronica!. $18.00

Bad Sector - Transponder ( Infinite Fog: IF-12)
Re-release of a 1999 CDr on Blade Records. Transponder really was an unheralded gem (with a criminally small press run of 120) within the Bad Sector catalog, collecting tracks from various cassette compilations from the mid-'90s and capturing the classic Bad Sector sound; meditatively hypnotic textures, vibrant ambient swells, and percolating beds of ghostly ambience. 60 + minutes of material here, with 2 previously unpublished tracks from 1998.. $9.33

Bad Sector & Astro - Idioblast ( Power & Steel: PAS32)
In 2005 a small Russian label, Insofar Vapour Bulk, proposed to Bad Sector to work on a recording made by Hiroshi Hasegawa (Astro). It was a "drone-like" sound of only a few minutes, but despite the difficult nature of the assignment, Massimo loved the very static and cryptic structure of the piece. So, starting from this basic recording (without using additional sounds) he developed a 45 minute long track, dissecting it and re-arranging it on a molecular level, The original Astro sound can still be heard at the beginning and at the end. In between, you'll find the classic Bad Sector sound; warm, enveloping, resonating drones and shimmering textures. The re-edition comes in beautiful cardboard case with silver-embossed printing.. $12.67

Constantly in flux and constantly fascinating. Great work!. $13.00

Bad Sector/Sshe Retina Stimulants - Neurotransmitter Actions CD ( Power & Steel: PAS37)
Originally released in 2000 this long sold out collaboration work is now available again and brings back some fine piece of well crafted deep sounding electronica from Italy. The BAD SECTOR tracks of Massimo Magrini building up again a sonic cathedral of sub-harmonic drones and rhythms while Paolo Bandera of SSHE RETINA STIMULANTS/SIGILLUM S dissects precisely the frequency oscillation and adds an intense and contemplative manifest of digital noise to the second part of this split-work. This is an outstanding example in sound research by two of the most important masterminds of the Italian electronic music scene.
The CD is presented in a beautiful cardboard package with bronze-foil print.. $8.00

Band of Pain - Sacred Flesh O.S.T. ( Cold Spring: CSR33)
The soundtrack was written by Steve Pittis' Band Of Pain, creating a very dark, brooding atmosphere to compliment Nigel Wingrove's film. Originally with a 16-page booklet depicting explicit scenes from the film, pressure from the distributors forced the artwork into a revised 4-page version. Sacred Flesh is dark journey into realms of mental anguish and repression; a very Black Ambient soundtrack. This is Band Of Pain working in the medium to which its most suited. An incredible album with massive demand from both film and music distributors alike. 10 year anniversary edition of 666 copies!. $5.00

Bardoseneticcube & Shinkiro - Inner and Outer Space CD ( Zhelezobeton: ZHB-LX)
This is already the second collaboration album of Bardoseneticcube from Russia and Shinkiro from Japan, this time under their own names. The first disc "Four Noble Truths" was released under the combined title of Bashin on the French label Athanor in 2011 and was dedicated to the basic principles of Buddhist teachings. The meditative and contemplative subject continues here as well, now being focused on the aspects of inner and outer space. We submerge in the dark thick matter of sound, fluid, transparent and stratiform. Woven from abstract electronics, omnifarious samples and transformed voices, textures are smoothly interchanging, always showing new visions in the black mirror of our viewport. Makes you wonder - does the perceivable exist separately from the percipient? In any case this is dark, nocturnal, cosmic music, epic and with drama. Worth having in your playlist for the next space travel!
The disc is packed in a matte 4-panel cardboard digisleeve with artwork made by Vitaly Stromchinsky (X3D5, Eternal Return Records).. $11.33

Barrikad & Government Alpha - Daydreaming 3 inch CDr ( L-White: LW055)
Harsh ...no, make that HARSH noise collaboration between these two acts. One 20 minute track that's extremely loud and brutal. Mostly operates on the mid-level and not so much in the upper frequency bands, which makes it much more listenable to me. But, really, there's not much to write here ...it's just good old fashion, devastatingly heavy, tinnitus inducing noise.. $4.00

Barst - The Western Lands CD ( Consouling Sounds: Soul076)
After having released the critically acclaimed three-way collab album with Treha Sektori and RM74, numerous cassettes, and a whole lot of live shows, BARST is finally ready to present his full length debut album “The Western Lands”. This is an obvious reference to William S. Burroughs. The fragmented, the transcendental and the viscerally unsettling of his work was taken as an inspiration point to build up the massive effort that is BARST’s debut full length. Moreover, the cut-up technique of Burroughs earlier work, where layer upon layer is fitted to build up a work of art, is exactly BARST’s modus operandi too. Cutting up sounds, and layering them from very subtle to incredibly huge is in BARST’s DNA.
To reach the massive sound achieved on the “The Western Lands”, he had the help of an amazing riches of musicians like Mike Armine (Rosetta), Dehn Sora (Treha Sektori, Sembler Deah, …), Karen Willems (Inwolves), Mathieu Mathlovsky(Mathlovsky), Nicolas Van Meirhaeghe (Empusae, Onus, …), An-Sofie De Meyer (FÄR), Tokyo Oyo and Herr Man. The album is one epic trip, encompassing ambient, drone, metal, shoegaze and electronica. “The Western Lands” captures a multitude of musical universes, and blends them seamlessly together in one of the most complete albums we have ever heard. Recorded, mixed and mastered by Tim De Gieter at Much Luv Studio. The artwork, which reflects the same inspiration, was expertly executed by Niels Verwijk. $10.99

Barzel - Born to Destroy Armalek ( Topheth Prophet: TP014)
Thought this review from Blood Ties webzine was pretty fitting, so here you go: "For those of you not in “the know” Barzel is a extremist Zionist power electronics unit twisting the more traditional conservative white power extremist stance that many pe projects espouse and putting his own Jewish Orthodox spin on things. This album comes at an interesting time to me as I just finished watching the film “Paradise Now” about 2 suicide bombers on the Palestinian side of things and the issues they faced while deciding their own fate. Now I get a taste of the “occupiers” side of things and it seems a bit harsh. The general sound here is quite a lo-fi one, but there's a lot of open space and room to breath in this recording which you don't find as often in lo-fi recordings like this. The material in parts is as minimalist as the great power electronics project Death Squad, but at other times like in “Victory” I am reminded more of Morder Machine, good company for sure. There are 10 tracks that make up Born to Destroy Amalek and I enjoy every one just fine. Some of the shorter tracks which feature political spoken word samples are mixed a bit too loud and the editing is somewhat shoddy on them, but they break things up and offer a little more depth to the concept so I tend not to mind them too much. The great thing about Born to Destroy Amalek is that it offers a good balance between pure power, harshness, and stranger more creative experimental styles which add much unique flavor to the album and make it more then just another pure pe release. ". $4.00

Beyond Enclosure - Dungeon of Total Void CD ( Malignant: TumorCD98)
Prominent S&M inspired electronics is not a new theme, but it has been a long time since such a vital voice has arisen. Enter Beyond Enclosure. With their debut recording Dungeon of Total Void, this Portuguese duo fronted by Samantha Diabolik with the assistance of Andre Coelho (of the now defunct Sektor 304 and operating here as "The Analyst"), have assembled an imposing homage to discomfort, pain, and pleasure. Built around a foundation of subversive and deviant themes, the eight tracks here undulate and throb with malfunctioning electronics, noxious, droning wavelengths, brooding, low slung bass, and malevolent psychoacoustics, with a stream of processed vocal instructions and commands that create a heightened sense of tension and unease. It's a brilliant display and musically should find immediate appeal among fans of Puce Mary, IRM, Sewer Goddess, and Haus Arafna. $10.67

Bisclaveret - Ephemerois (Ante T Deum) ( Zoharum: Zohar0112)
Bisclaveret's new album Epheremos [Ante 'Te Deum'] is a concept album focused on the link between the man and the seven angels "Ofis", "Ejael", "Donkuel", "Izrafael", "Semakiel", "Azrael" and "Androgyne" (names used also for titles of the seven tracks of the release). Musically, this is polished and composed...semi-structured, which I'd loosely label as dark wave, but that has really negative conotations to me, and that's not the vibe I get from this record. Still, these are actual songs more or less, with some very solemn spoken vocals (with a tinge of anger), shimmering guitar, and an underbelly of droning atmospherics, synth pad noises, and a ritual touch.. $7.00

Bisclaveret - In Hortis....Aegri Somnia (Early Works) CD ( Dark Vinyl: DV63)
On its 15th anniversary, Bisclaveret has gathered a special compilation collecting early recordings, lifted mainly from their first CDR releases"Aegri Somnia" and "In Hortis", but also adding a few individual songs from their concert album "Er Roud El Aater fi Nezaha El Khater" and a number of rarities: versions and unreleased songs. The whole material has been designed in such a way that it creates a coherent album. The material has been re-mastered by Łukasz Miernik (often appearing live with Bisclaveret), who is also responsible for the sound of the last disc "Theu Anagnosis".
"In Hortis... Aegri Somnia" is a summary of the early activities of the group, a reminder of archival recordings that, although they differ stylistically from what the band is performing today, show what the evolution of Bisclaveret sound looked like. The evolution of the band which has been firmly rooted in the ambient scene since its very beginning.. $9.00

Bizarre Uproar - Amputaatio CD ( Filth & Violence: F&V106)
A monumental suffocating grind that tremor with the physical density and ritual ambience of late BU saga live-performances. The material on this release bridges eras "Vihameditaatio" (2014) to "Rape Africa" (2012); and consists of two structured compositions of lengthy, slow-crawling, torturous nature. The instrumentation and compositional strategies extend the groundwork defined on "Vihameditaatio", and is subtly balanced with "Rape Africa's" static rawness and brutally imploding gutter-vacuum. The metamorphosis of the two otic stances plus live-sound fervor, cement "Amputaatio" as a meditative and destructive volcanic mass that froth with malignant intent. All out rotten. Sheer bestiality. Total alienating filth. Recorded in the BU bunker Autumn 2014. $12.67

Bizarre Uproar - Sikiöasento 2CD ( Filth & Violence: F&V159)
Bizarre Uproar has undertaken many a rather remarkable journey over these last years. Having gained notoriety, respect and disgust for the authentic BDSM and fetish aesthetics, the crude and sadistic sounds and a variety of intense live actions, Pasi Markkula has never feared to reinvent techniques and follow paths which could be hard to digest to say at least. More recent outputs such as “Vihameditaatio” or “Dekadenz” could probably be described best as static sickness, which draws its power from skilled interactions between monotonous bleakness and harshest brutalism“Sikiöasento” is a great example of how Bizarre Uproar succeeds at fusing new ideas with old (but gold) tricks. Possibly, this album recaptures the mania and hate of past triumphs like “Purification” or “Mother” more than the last ones but maintains the same level of darkness and disgust that defined the younger outputs. “Sikiöasento” strangles its listener with hate-filled eyes and foam running from its mouth. Markkula's iconic vocals howl with heavy delay and spite and narrate the peaks and depths of the sonic rage enclosed. Hate, chaos and death are merged into one and the result is nothing short of pulverising. The violence reigns supreme and the intensity is as high as it could possibly be.. $14.99

Black Earth - Diagrams of a Hidden Order mCD ( Malignant: Infect18)
Debut digital recording for Spain's cryptic collective Black Earth that continues the path laid down by 2014's well received "A Cryptic Howl of Morbid Truth" cassette (Graceless Recordings). "Diagrams of a Hidden Order" presents us with three tracks showcasing their turbulent strain of blackened noise, that stretches the boundaries of black metal, death metal and dark ambient respectively, thus amplifying these genres into darker territory few have explored. Within the turbulence of chaos and bleakness, there exists fleeting form and (un)structure that is shattered and rebuilt over and over again; measured percussion, whispered incantations, and sudden outbursts of unseen violence. A truly potent alchemical document in practice. In 4 panel digipak, limited 500 copies. Special limited cassette edition also available from In Solace Publishing. $7.66

New double CD from these ex Coil dancers. Blasterkorps - Nos Années Mortes 2CD ( Infinite Fog: IF-48)

Depth of Analog Minimal Synth, Electro, Industrial and Power Electronics. First and last time on CD, complete anthology + many unreleased tracks.
Now the project is closed and "Nos Années Mortes(our dead years)" is an epic gravestone.
“In its brief existence, Blasterkorps was a duo whose sole purpose was to make “minimal wave noise” with basic objects. We played in the strictest of anonymity for five years, between 1997 and 2002. We split the band up after every session, Blasterkorps never really existed. During this time of uncertainty, we painstakingly came out with three release, one on tape, four tracks on an 7" EP and finally six tracks on an 10" LP. We've never given an interview nor played a single concert, there are few pictures of us and yet we were there...an invisible band. In its last year of its existence the monster was almost saved, all in vain as the die had been cast, at least I think so… this is our story, or at least what is left of it. Bloodyminded - Within the Walls ( Bloodlust!: B!176)
BLOODYMINDED is a heavy electronic band that was formed in New York, in 1995, after the dissolution of the early American industrial noise group Intrinsic Action, founded by Mark Solotroff in 1984.
The group’s live shows are extremely energetic, characterized by layers of screeching analog synthesizer, aggressive vocals, and a copious amount of feedback.
While BLOODYMINDED operate within the noise scene, their sound is broadly informed by their industrial forbearers, NYC pre-punk and noise rock, and British hardcore and grindcore. “Within The Walls” is the band’s fifth full-length studio recording and the first to be issued since their 2006 album, “Magnetism.” Numerous false starts led to the band entering the studio with acclaimed doom metal producer, Sanford Parker, to finally commit the new set of songs to tape (no, computer). The album is based on the concept of “love and loss in a time of great sadness,” and it follows themes established by members Isidro Reyes and Mark Solotroff in their offshoot band, The Fortieth Day. Reyes and Solotroff closely collaborated on the lyrics, working in both Spanish and English.
Along with core members Xavier Laradji, James Moy, Isidro Reyes, Pieter Schoolwerth and Mark Solotroff, select guest musicians were drafted to assist with the album.. $5.00

Blush Response - Reshaper CD ( Ant-Zen: Act343)
Blush Response is Joey Blush, a Cuban-American artist and sound designer hailing from NYC who now resides in Berlin. Blush cut his teeth doing programming work for artists such as Fear Factory, Rhys Fulber, Cristian Castro, and as a touring member of Joey Jordison (Slipknot)'s alternative rock project Scar the Martyr. A fascinating, vibrant new artist, frequenting the outer realms of post punk, industrial, techno, you-name-it and has a plethora of releases on cd, vinyl, digital and even cassette tape format to date on labels like Aufnahme + Wiedergabe, Total Black and Basic Unit Productions. The intention behind Blush Response is to always push the limits of sound, structure, and perception, creating a modern version of what he perceives industrial music to be: brutal, inventive, uncompromising and always innovative. Throbbing Gristle, Surgeon or Front 242 have left audible traces in his sound, and his goal is to recapture the core spirit of these originators, and then to evolve it even further. Performing on hardware synthesizers is a big part of the essence of Blush Response. His approach is very ‘hands on’ and thus 90% of the changes you hear on his sounds are done by hand without any automation. Blush believes in performative gestures over cut and paste editing, and strives to explore the limits of human machine interactions. His live performances are 100% improvised and mostly unplanned which includes mistakes and happy accidents, and this philosophy is also reflected in his studio work. Blush Response's music is characterized by a heavy approach to sound design, combining rough, glitch-heavy beats with thick, distorted synths. Pounding, head-tripping kick drums intermix with abrasive, dark sequences generating huge walls of cavernous sonics. A pulsating slice of straightforward noise-filtered techno with a good dose of industrial and ebm influences while Blush's improvising skills enable a sound that blurs the lines between these genres. $13.00

Bo Cavefors & Kristian Olsson - Dodens O/Die Toteninsel ( Autarkeia: ACD059)
Bo Cavefors is a famous, persecuted Swedish playwright and brutal writer - a persona non grata of the Swedish official culture, whose plays and exhibitions have been banned for their extreme and nonconformist character. For this release, Kristian Olsson, well-known Swedish sound terrorist (Survival Unit, Alfarmania), uses Bo Cavefors' book texts and his voice, and puts them to a soundtrack of very gloomy atmospheres, full of swirling grime, distant scrap metal drone, and effected, manipulated smear from a variety of sources (analogue keyboards, contact mics, field recordings, human bone trumpets, various pedals etc). Dedicated to the inevitable phenomenon - DEATH. $10.00

Bocksholm - Caged Inside the Beast of the Forge ( Wrotycz: WRT017)
The two drunken bastards from Bocksholm (Peter Andersson of Raison D'être and Lina Baby Doll of Deutsch Nepal) are finally back with a new album and this time they have unleashed the Beast. Any mythological idea that Boxholm has become a great peaceful Eden is from now on eternally disproved. No one is safe anymore, not even the horror of Kisa. Birath - the Beast of the forge - is back and we are all captives inside his devilish mind, at least for 60 minutes after pressing play. Enjoy with a bottle of moonshine. True industrial, with lots of organic, junky clutter, whirrings, clangs, and disorderly dark ambient and noise, periodically lapsing into something more synchronized, with driving rhythms, grooving loops and explosive pulsations Digipak.. $10.00

Body Cargo/Pogrom - Resistance ( Cipher Productions: TR-05)
Split release between these two Lithuanian acts, plus two collaborative tracks, thematically centered around the idea of resistance. Dark, obscured, post-mortem electronics from Body Cargo, and turbulent heavy electronic filth from Pogrom that reminds me a bit of Strom.ec's early years, or just something Finnish in general.. $9.00

Breaking the Will - Choosing Death CD ( Terror: Terror12)
First full length album in discography of this harsh noise artist from USA. The sounds that were recorded to tapes, released during 5 years of activity, were not only visible and audible in excessive sea of information and sounds, but always attracted attention with truly high quality and well done cut-up harsh noise. This conceptual release was in plans for several years already and is finally out. Almost 40 minutes of preparation, execution, playing, destroying and annihilation is documented in this digipak CD, released in 300 copies. Choosing Death mood varies from darker droney parts and field recordings to openly aggressive and fast cut-up harsh noise. Without a doubt the strongest work of Breaking the Will to date. 13e. $5.00

Brighter Death Now - Payback ( Not On Label: BDNNL01)
Professionally done, high quality bootleg live recording from Essen, Germany, 2009. Presented in a gatefold sleeve with glossy embossed printing. A statement from Roger Karmanik himself, not quite endorsing yet, and yet not a total condemnation either: "This bootleg was recently released by the organiser behind Maschinenfest, it's live from the 2009 festival. Yes there was some issues... and I was an asshole, as so many times during that time of my life. I don't blame him. I just got the cd yesterday and I suggest you to get it! Really nice artwork and the sound recording is excellent. On this occasion I had the privilege to have Bauke van d W and Lina B Doll on stage, and you can hear we did a really good job - well worth the money, both for the show and CD. however this doesnt suggest others to try bootlegging anything from BDN. You will be nailed".. $14.50

b°tong - Hostile Environment ( Greytone: Grey013)
B°TONG is Chris Sigdell, former member of the German experimental industrial group NID (1995 – 2005).With B°TONG he reaches for the nether regions of experimental electronic sound and has established himself as an acknowledged and known professional soundscape artist. His music is a choice of dark, brooding layers of sound, high-pitched tones and weird electronic sounds that give birth to images of darkness and tranquillity, the solitude of an icy polar night or the equivalent of an underwater journey into a bottomless pit.. $11.00

Budrus - Canine Visions IX ( Freak Animal: FreakCD75)
Budrus is a Lithuanian duo featuring Girnu Giesmes and Pogrom. So, if you know these projects, you know one is more hypnotic ambient and one more death industrial/pe. What Budrus manages to successfully do is to go beyond a mere collaboration and forge the two sounds together while creating an entirely new identity. Emotive drones, melancholic, highly emotive, melodies and a diversity of compositions and textures, combined with a hard, commanding, Eastern European vocal performance from Leonardas Marozas. Downtempo, ambient/drone with the forcefulness of power electronics, without having almost any musical similarities to mentioned genres. Recommended. And get their debut, Devyniems Rytams Auštant, while you're at it.. $10.00

Burial Hex - Book of Delusions ( Cold Spring: CSR166)
During the period in which Clay Ruby first began working on this piece of art, he had become so completely surrounded by evil and deception that he was forced to begin summoning a particularly extreme and ancient force of protection and vitality just to make it alive through the end of 2008. Aside from spiritually fortifying Ruby's life, the complexities of these new elemental entities brought with them circumstances causing a much more rich and intense recording experience than he could have ever composed on his own. Classic horror electronics and post-industrial apocalyptic soundscapes with unsettling notes, anguished cries and voices of the dead. His most ritualistic album yet. Reissue of the extremely limited LP with bonus tracks taken from the split LPs with Kinit Her and Zola Jesus, all available on CD for the first time! All tracks have been carefully remastered.. $12.66
