This fourth audio document, in a series of six, is a split Lp, titled LATEX. It involves two of the most dissolute and sinful names in the Noise scene : Black Leather Jesus and Richard Ramirez. Texas legends for almost 23 years, Black Leather Jesus have destroyed minds, ears, and stereos with their extreme soundart. An orgy of blood, junk metal, chains, screaming electronics, and gay pornography. The band has become a staple of the harsh noise scene. Noise legend, Richard Ramirez has become an icon in the scene since his debut solo effort in 1992. Founder of the label, Deadline Recordings and Black Leather Jesus, Ramirez is also known for his wall noise projects (long before it was coined HNW). Works under his own name reak of gritty feedback filth electronics and metal. His work in this genre remains top notch. Each names has contributed with a long track for this record. Burial Hex presents 2 "pre-industrial" conceptual compositions. Aside from one synth at the end of the first track, this music was all made with acoustic sounds. Intense Power Electronics, but without using amplification or electronically generated sounds. Just like how many industrial artists have flirted with depicting sounds and atmospheres from the first and second World Wars, these pieces were composed imaging atmospheres closer to the American Civil War era. Travel the hallways and explore, as you venture into a more cerebral musical state than what brakeHEAD offered, where ghostly transmissions and hypnotic layers of surreal, ethereal atmospheres intersect with disembodied voices, clattering, furnace blasting percussion, and of course, healthy injections of true, old fashioned industrial noise and sweeping doom, done in the best Scandinavian style (imagine if Deutsch Nepal had continued in the same path laid down by Benevolence and you start to get the idea). The pacing of the album is truly impeccable, flowing seamlessly from to track, as if moving from room to room in a hazy, dream state, the layering and cohesiveness on a whole nothing short of meticulous. Two tracks, 45 rpm, influenced by the 1981 Hunger strike in Ireland headed by Bobby Sands. Side one is impressively violent and incendiary ... full out, junk metal bedlam with strident vocals intent on forcing you into action. Side two leans more towards a death industrial vibe ...more synth driven and ominous, yet equally as threatening as the flip side, especially when those vocals kick in. Two sides of bleak power electronics totaling at roughly 11 minutes.Jacket is a two color screen print designed by Jim Haras and includes a double sided insert. Pharmakon is the solo power electronics project of Margaret Chardiet. She has previous releases on Bloodlust!, Callow God and Three Songs of Lenin. She lives at the Red Light District were projects like Yellow Tears, Haflings and Cathode Terror Secretion spend a lot of time so if you aren’t completely familiar with her work you can get an idea of some of her influences. Deterge is a newer alias of Jim Haras that has evolved into a dynamic power electronics project utilizing thick harsh noise, synth and creepy vocals. The NEW LP-series from Drone Records, dedicated to the Drones of the World, and the Drones of our Minds. A kind of continuation of the Drone 7"-series on a more user-friendly format. Each LP features four artists from the international drone-scene and is limited to 500 copies, pressed on four different vinyl-colours. Volume 1: Ubebboet (Spain), Halo Manash (Finland), B°Tong (Switzerland), Jarl (Sweden). This series shows the various sides of todays experimental drone-music. The title symbolizes the interaction between sound of the Eternal and our psyche and raises questions: Can Drones (or sound per se) be regarded as "intelligent"? Does every mind produce a Drone? Isn't it possible that any organic or non-organic entity produces a Drone? Drone Music is seen as more than a mere 'music style', it expresses an approach to perceive & understand the world. DRONE-MIND and MIND-DRONE build a circle of diverse inter-relations. The Drone as a metaphor for everything that vibrates, that releases energy - from atoms and elementary particles to the hum of the earth and the universe. Ubeboet from Spain starts off the new series with two fantastic "transcension drone" pieces derived from choral / voice-material - highly emotional, contemplative and sublime. Halo Manash is the main project from the Aural Hypnox-family based in Oulu, northern Finland, known for powerful shamanistic / ethnic otherworldly drones. "Walkeus" comprises two pieces of dense ritualistic sounds based purely on ethnic instruments and voices without using any electronics, recorded on analogue reel-to-reel tape. Jarl (the drone side / solo-project of the Swedish Industrial duo IRM) is known for "pure sounding" overwhelming, at times noisy hypno-drones. The long track "Zero in Scream" uses zither-sounds in an innovative way.
