Aeoga - Obsidian Outlander LP (Gold Print) ( Aural Hypnox: AH16GLP)
‘Obsidian Outlander’ slowly weaves together droning fabric of guitars and analog synths that melt together with abstract sounds and field recordings. Whereas earlier works have been more holistic in nature, 'Obsidian Outlander' is maybe the most narrow-focused thus far - bound to only certain frame and concept. The album exhales its nocturnal essence upon the listener and inhales this sensory experience back into Aeoga's mythopoetical dimension, crystallizing into a vision of a vigil standing before a slowly throbbing corpsecloth, while the black loom weaves the fabric of UN-inverse-OM. Total running time: 29:08.
The golden edition of the ‘Obdidian Outlander’ LP is enclosed in a customised and screen printed cardboard covers & inner sleeve, including three A5-sized insert cards. Limited to 350 copies. . $23.66

Anemone Tube & Post Scriptvm - Litaniæ Mortuorum Discordantes LP ( Laesencia: LER015)
Under the headline “Litaniæ Mortuorum Discordantes” Anemone Tube and Post Scriptvm present a collaborative album with a truly unique concept: Originally applied to a particular style of ancient ritual music, in the Classical era the term Litaniae Mortuorum Discordantes attained a negative connotation and was used to criticize those compositions – which, instead of instilling listeners with the desired pious euphoria, incriminated them with a sense of dread, existential anxiety, feelings of death and decay. Finding this aesthetic choice to be most appropriate for the present era, the two post-industrial projects attempted to create their own “Discordant Death Litanies” for the XXI century.
The idea is culled from a semi-fictional biography of Johann Sebastian Bach, written by a 19th century Russian author. In the chapter describing Bach‘s childhood and early education, his older brother – who was also his music teacher and mentor – dissuades him from composing those “Litaniæ Mortuorum Discordantes” as they dangerously steer the Christian liturgy into a “wrong” direction of primordial chaos. In reality Bach never dealt with such dark notions, but created the most versatile and accomplished musical glorifications of the Christian god ever composed.
Yet tempted by the imagination of real “Litaniæ Mortuorum Discordantes”, Anemone Tube and Post Scriptvm stage a linear, gradually unfolding “oratorio” which begins with layers of lush brass synths resounding a time and place enveloped in ancient mythical beauty. The pristine serenity, however, slowly deteriorates through the influx of anguish, social decay and profanity. Raw field recordings, throbbing electronics, metallic tremors, distant voices and chants portrait a life of numbness and confusion, where man – tormented by ignorance, ignoble desires and anger – has become a plaything of insane “Weltanschauungen” and the commercialization plague. In a world where spirituality is reduced to rituals of sadness, the prophetic – and confirmed – certitude that the end of civilization is close at hand prevails.

Baldruin - Biotische Verwitterung LP ( Cloister Recordings: Crus23)
A disquieting record to accompany the nightmare of now. Baldruin documents this darkness, finding some hope in the helplessness. Buried within these grooves, lies a dizzying array of crepuscular sonics. Barely alive, it drips with dread. Rachitic loops return to us, like traumas. A sticky submission. My goodness, these earworms are infectious.
Limited and hand numbered edition (200 pieces). Pressed on 180g vinyl and packed in a thick, 300g uncoated sleeve featuring a front and back artwork by Baldruin. 3 mm spine and black carton inner sleeves. Includes card with download-code of the digital files.. $16.00

Contrastate - No Eden With Annihilation LP/CD ( Tesco: Tesco109)
Active from the late 1980s through to the present day Contrastate follow up their last studio album “A breeding ground for flies” with this the sister release “No Eden Without Annihilation”. The tracks were performed live at various venues across Europe between 2012 and 2014. Theirs is a sonic soundtrack to an apocalyptic world that is hypnotic, yet still full of dynamic sounds and shifts. Their sound insinuates itself somewhere inside the dark ritual ambience of the electronic avant-garde shot through with a vein of experimental noise and sarcophetic vocals strewn amongst industrial surrealism. Contrastate, along other experimental acts from the 80's and 90's, have gone through something of a critical re-assessment of late. Their music has come to be understood on its own terms and nothing like them has really come to take their place. “Contrastate achieve an amazing equilibrium between organic sound and brooding electronics” – Heathen Harvest.. $28.99

Dead Body Love/Atrax Morgue - Split LP ( Urashima: UMA120)
It feels like I've been writing about DEAD BODY LOVE for as long as I havebeen recording harsh noise. What else can be said? I can't express enoughhow much of an influence Italian harsh noise has had on my own personalworks, but It also lets me and several peers investigate the techniques andstyles of the 1990s harsh noise and the atmosphere that was createdexpressed from different regions of the world. The more I listen andrevisit the material of 90s Japanese harsh noise, the 80s UK powerelectronics and the celebrated rougher tendencies of 90s Americanoise, theItalian material and different projects flare up that dictate a powerful'Coles Notes' of harsh noise and how it can be deconstructed and eventuallymaterialized into vivisected lines and layers of crumbling, throbbing, cracking and creaking sound.
I always trail back to MAUTHAUSEN ORCHESTRA and its insurmountableimportance to abrasive sound and its developments, especially in sub sectharsh noise genres of the 2010s; the project's more minimalist and focusedinfluence on later Italian projects such as the 1990s DEAD BODY LOVE asDBL's material exemplified aspects of crushing avalanches of crumblingsound, layered and sometimes delayed, a major player against and with theAmericanoise sound of the 1990s expressed by MACRONYMPHA and SKIN CRIME toname a couple. Then you take the obsessions and the lines of moving soundand have them expressed by something like the fanatical ATRAX MORGUE. Fearsome concentration and jarring meditation on lines of warbling andpredatory analog synth work portray something invariably real about theobsession acted out from the Italian project ATRAX MORGUE. A differentdisplay of penetrative and studied sound seethes from ATRAX MORGUE as nowthe listener and 'fan' of Italian Industrial and harsh noise is confrontedwith another genre defining sound that pits throbbing and rough synthagainst haunting and manic vocalizations, disturbing the listener with itsundeniable dedicated concentration. The resulting split tape with materialfrom DEAD BODY LOVE and ATRAX MORGUE isn't as black and white as one mightthink. DEAD BODY LOVE makes use of dark and rough early industrial-likelines and meld into the eventual crushing forces that he is known for. Inthe vein of ATRAX MORGUE, samples are also manipulated and drawn out for thelistener reminding us of his more delay heavy work. ATRAX MORGUE's materialworks with DBL's material almost seamlessly via further haunting andthrobbing dark material, slowly churning and deconstructing into his owndistinct sound of heavily concentrated focus and mania for singular soundsand how they can repeat, move and create total atmosphere.
A celebrated once in a lifetime example of a split release re-issued onvinyl by Urashima. - Sam McKinlay
The record has been pressed on 140 gr black vinyl with black label and blackinner sleeve and comes in a deluxe silver silkscreen on black cardboardsleeve, limited to 199 hand numbered copies w/sheet from The AmericanJournal of Forensic Medicine and Pathology.. $21.50

Empusae - Lueur LP ( Consouling Sounds: Soul83LP)
Empusae has been paving the way for many years now, resulting in the release of one critically acclaimed album after another. The main man, Sal-Ocin, is also a much valued contributor and/or band member of a great myriad of acts, like for instance Ordo Rosarius Equilibrio, Onus and BARST — just to name a few.
Although his music warrants a broad appeal, Empusae is best known in the dark electronica scene. With his release of the deeply personal album “Lueur”, Empusae is breaking out of these confines for sure. “Lueur” most definitely sounds unmistakably like Empusae, but the dark and brooding drone palette expands his sound tremendously. Testament to the gap Empusae bridges on this new album are the guest vocals of CHVE (Amenra, Sembler Deah, Kingdom, CHVE, …). CHVE’s characteristic vocal approach gives the music an extra sense of grief and longing, lending the music an extra urgency. This tale about darkness and light will not leave you unmoved and is bound to linger in your mind.. $16.33

FRKSE - Desecration Anxiety LP ( Divergent Series: DIV026)
The new full-length album from experimental artist FRKSE, sculptor of bleak atmospheres, tape loop rhythms, harsh tones, and a plethora of unsettling samples. With titles like “Witness to a Levitation Ruse” and “Delusion,” “Desecration Anxiety I” presents a theme of false prophets and the empty promises of spirituality by grinding through 12 tracks of FRKSE’s trademark sound. Vocal samples in a foreign tongue permeate passages of clanging chimes and atonal guitar while a pulsating beat provides a punishing underbelly of unrest.
“Desecration Anxiety I” is a cohesive and consistently dismal album, at times feeling akin to a vintage horror movie soundtrack, and others like a lost mixtape of experimental beats from an organic industrial outfit. With a highly dynamic lacquer transfer and virgin black vinyl, “Desecration Anxiety I” is a stunning, hi-fidelity testament to the powers of overcoming spiritual ignorance.. $16.00

Isomer - Three Kestrels LP ( Tesco: Tesco107)
L.ed.num 300 , incl. download code! It’s been a long time between drinks! Finally here is the new full-length from Isomer: his first release since Cipher Productions’ 2011 EP ‘Nil by Mouth’ and his first on Tesco since 2009. In the intervening years, the violence and dirt of alter ego Rope Society has had a good airing, but with ‘Three Kestrels’ that project’s modus operandi meets Isomer’s more subdued material to spurt a blend of muscular power electronics and heavy drone, similar to the direction on ‘Nil by Mouth’. Taking as its starting point a period of personal upheaval, ‘Three Kestrels’ looks at the experiences of unfamiliar territory and is a paean to strength and overcoming. Our most foreign and unfamiliar experiences harbour the greatest change. $22.00

Mortal Vision - Nacht Musik LP ( Urashima: UMA114)
Japanese noise legend Hiroshi Hasegawa has begun his improvisation with his voice and percussion in early 80's and in 1989 he formed the amazing noise band and performance art act C.C.C.C. (Cosmic Coincidence Control Center) which's concept was improvisational mass-noise with very loud sound. Also he has begun his solo unit Mortal Vision with guitar in 1990 as well as playing in C.C.C.C. and then he has begun Astro in 1993 with analogue synthesizer and since than continuing to spend decades exploring noise's manifestations and new ways of enrapturing audiences with sound. Orphx - Archive 1993-1994 2LP ( Maniacal Hatred: MNQ089)
Mannequin Records is proud to present an archival collection from what could be considered the genesis of Orphx's unique sound. Inspired by early industrial music and new waves of noise from Japan and Europe, this compilation gathers together some of the best material from their first two cassette releases along with previously unreleased tracks recovered from the original 4 track tapes.
"The general lack of a consistent BPM is one of the things that impresses me the most about this archive. The percussion flows in and out like a tide beating on cold, jagged rock. What’s even more startling is hearing this recording much later and in the scope of history, comparing it to the music of it’s time. ORPHX was so non-linear, so far beyond any of the song writing of their era that it’s not hard to imagine this recording emerging today - when experimental electronics and noise have become a part of our vocabulary. The archive is nothing short of a dystopian masterpiece." - The Brvtalist. $25.67

The Black Scorpio Underground - Necrochasm LP ( Prison Tatt Records: H113)
Forged in 2000, THE BLACK SCORPIO UNDERGROUND (aka T.B.S.U.), whose split with T.O.M.B. last year made substantial waves within the black metal/noise communities, fuses harsh noise, industrial, ambient, and black metal elements to create their deafeningly sinister, occult-ridden magick. With a dedicated and expanding fan base and endorsements from the like of Watain’s Erik Danielsson and Trepaneringsritualen’s Thomas Martin Ekelund among many others, T.B.S.U. has generated an extensive catalog of releases including splits with such genre heavyweights as Richard Ramirez/Werewolf Jerusalem, The Vomit Arsonist, The Haters, Demonologists, Actuary, and Endometrium Cuntplow.
T.B.S.U. is the brainchild of world-renowned tattoo artist/musician, Joe Truck, inker to many of black metal and industrial music royalty. Truck, who’s been a staple within the NYC deathrock/punk and goth scenes since 1979, has performed in bands with members of Swans, Einsturzende Neubauten, Nick Cave And The Bad Seeds, Snakefinger, and Samhain. Truck is also the founding member and guitarist in New York City-based 1982 goth act Scarecrow.
Necrochasm is an unforgiving, seven-track nightmare of sonic ungodliness; a true manifestation of fear, apprehension, and suffocating paranoia. Featuring contributions from Samantha Viola of T.O.M.B., Dreadlords, and Skulsyr, the disharmonic masterwork was captured at Black Blood Studios in Long Beach, California and Hollydale Asylum, in Downey, California. $15.66

This release is a collaborative work of the Swedish and Lithuanian industrial music scenes, with each artist contributing 3 tracks. On the A side one can find Sweden's Trepaneringsritualen, who composed impressive dark ambient / death industrial tracks. Culled from the same sessions as Åkallan Mímir, Trepaneringsritualen's side of this split features a prolonged death chant in three movements. Sombre, slow-moving and ritualistic in approach, this working fits in stylistically somewhere between the previously mentioned Åkallan: Mímir and Deathward, To The Womb. Tthe B side features Lithuania's post-mortem act Body Cargo, who, as is usual to the project, plays dirty and brutal lo-fi about the cannibal cults of Papua New Guinea. Ltd x 300 copies on heavy transparent vinyl in a screenprinted cardboard sleeve. ACT FAST!. $20.00
