Abscheu - Pretense LP (Unrest Productions: UNPRLP18)
6 tracks, all with a discernible tension and volatility running throughout, bringing about near-frightening intensities through shifting zones of frayed, heavy electronics, deadening rhythmic elements, and lurching, mechanized loops. Swarms of highly charged drones and nauseating, flanged vocals add a threatening sense of hostility and aggression,
"From Europe to Middle East via Sub-Saharan Africa, Abscheu have been watching some of the most determined acts of violence. Studying how bloodthirsty groups wash their hands by adorning their motivation with divine command. Seeing zealots justify murderous wrath by invoking their favorite sacred book whenever necessary. A self-proclaimed court where justice is selectively rendered. A confusing purgatory where hatred is given a legitimacy. A sneaky trickery designed to mislead one's enemies in the maze of one's lies. «Pretense» is the exploration of that system from various perspectives. «Pretense» is an unquestionable judgment before men – definitely not before that thing they call god.". $20.67

Barry Adamson+Panasonic+The Hafler Trio - The Hymn of the 7th Illusion LP (Cold Spring: CSR241LP)
Pan Sonic, arranged and edited by Barry Adamson (Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Magazine), with an additional re-arrangement by The Hafler Trio.
Here, Barry Adamson and Pan Sonic is performed by the Hljomeyki choir and Pan Sonic. "...a blend of an Icelandic choir performing Barry's (treated) microtonal, urgent score is slowly infiltrated, first with an electronic breath and then by well-rounded bass that evolves into a satisfactory crescendo before the scary humhum returns... highly successful" (Vital Weekly).
The Hafler Trio's wonderful extended reworking "weaves strong drones together before levelling them to start anew. At times it sounds eerily like the soundtrack to "the monolith" from Stanley Kubrick's 2001: A Space Odyssey, but the intermittent digital crackles and processing bring the listener forcefully up to the present tense. If you are interested in abstract and experimental electronic music, the Hafler Trio deliver a solid remix".
35 minutes. Originally released on CD by Icelandic label Kitchen Motors in 2001, now released on vinyl for the first time by Cold Spring.
Produced by Barry Adamson, Jóhann Jóhannsson, and Pan Sonic. The cover art features Icelandic electronic composer Magnús Blöndal Jóhannsson having a brain scan performed while listening to this disc.
180g vinyl with matt card sleeve. Comes with download card.. $19.99

Black Front - We March 12inch Pic Disc (Corvus Records: CRVS15LP)
Four track vinyl. It has been 2 years since Black Front released their first full lenght album, “The Forgotten.” During these 2 years the world contiued on its path to become an even more violent place where people are killed in large numbers at one time .On A side you can hear anthem-like track “Death march”. The band uses the term ‘Death March’ (i.e. making a group of people walk until they die,) as in Armenian Genocide, as a metaphor for what is happening today. Devastating and hopeless cry of a soul on a death march. To the end of he world. The music is slow, heavy repeating solid riff and march-like machine drumming. The second song is called “ Black heart and red sky” it is an ode to one of our favourite movies, Milcho Manchevski’s “Before The Rain” and perhaps to our Balkan roots, bringing the theme of forced departure full circle. On B-side you can hear 2 remixes-the first one is done by ambient artist called Mytrip-and is based on “Death march” track. Haunting and scary, while the second one is titled “180 degrees” by dark ambient artist SHRINE (remix of the first song “90 degrees” from the debut album of Black Front.) has more ambient feeling. This printed as a picture disc on heavyweight vinyl with sound mastered my J.Plotkin (O.L.D.) will give you the right mood. $14.00

Brighter Death Now - Breaking Down Nihil 2LP (Retortae: Venenum4)
The long overdue vinyl version of the recording from the legendary Brighter Death Now mini-tour took place in Russia in September 2009 initially released by Der Angriff / Indiestate as 2CD in 2011.
This recording is very special since the lineup was made of Russian artists and only Roger himself was a part of the common European live incarnation of BDN from that time. The persons behind Anthesteria and LamiaVox joined him in Moscow while Bardoseneticube and 414 were together with him on stage in St.Petersburg. The basic parts of the tracks were sent to them all in advance, resulting in very little spontaneous improvisation, bur rather a conceived and well-organized collaboration. Both shows have been recorded on multi-channel devices, then carefully mixed and mastered, so the final quality is close to the studio one without losing any bit of the raw energy of live performance. The result is a very fresh and unexpected look on the well-known BDN compositions. Sorry, quite expensive.. $46.00

Corrupted - Felicific Algorithim 12inch LP (Cold Spring: CSR240LP)
Corrupted is a mysterious Japanese doom metal band, formed in 1994. Immensely downtuned guitar and crushingly slow bass are shrouded under deep layers of feedback. They are rightly hailed as one of the heaviest and darkest doom metal bands of all time.
"Humankind's folly it its continuing idiocy. This is the beginning of the "Hollow" series. The schoolyard of the school was buried in the mountains of radioactive contaminated rubble. We cannot hear children's voices from anywhere. I hear it is the world of sound of only footsteps and the warning sound of the Geiger counter..." (Chew Hasegawa)
This record isn't your standard doom fare. The title-less tracks are to be played at either standard vinyl speed. Therefore (and at the band's request), no samples or download code.
The limited 12" is accompanied by a foldout poster.. $19.99

DE·TA·US·TO·AS - The Immaculate Triumvirate LP (Bestiarie: BestVolXIX)
One is for infliction / Two is for inversion / Three is Immaculate.
Catalonian Death Industrial duo DE·TA·US·TO·AS blend together ancestral prayers and highly corrosive textures in order to create a deathly sound based upon soil, blood and scent.
«The Immaculate Triumvirate» is the third ritual, based on the progressive completion of the Four Knives Path: Zealotry, scourging liturgies, repentance, the pursuit of purging the self and the strife to crawl towards the state of ascension.
«The Immaculate Triumvirate», composed by four new tracks, involves the return of the death industrial / ritual duo DE·TA·US·TO·AS, after the self-released «Plunging Four Knives» demo CD and «The Inverted Halls» Cassette (Bestiarie 2016). Grimy, filthy death industrial at its finest.. $24.00

Grunt - Sacrosanct Imperium Single-Sided LP (Freak Animal: GSILP)
Re-issue of a 20 minute tape that came out after the 'Myth Of Blood' album. Some concluded it to be superior material compared to the full length. Whether this is true or not, Freak Animal acknowledges the strength of material to be worthy of a vinyl reissue. Constant demand of the tape version has resulted in the material being widely available, so vinyl edition is quite small. Three raw yet also atmospheric tracks of industrial-noise, hammering electronic pulses, distorted screaming vocals and broken sonic waste. The vinyl is a one-sider, including all the music on one side and pasted-on graphics on other side of the vinyl, making it resemble a picture-disc. Includes all the graphics and lyrics of the original tape version.. $18.67

Himukalt - Knife Through the Spine LP (Malignant: TumorLP116)
As admirers of Himukalt’s four previous tape releases, Malignant is pleased to present the first full length LP from this promising, Nevada based, female fronted act. The project of the enigmatic Ester Kärkkäinen, Knife Through the Spine delivers a steady cascade of abstract sounds, festering with grinding pneumatic throb, coarse frequency blasts and sputtering electronic oscillations, with spliced snippets of processed, flanged vocals and a general sense of social anxiety and disaffection. There’s something uniquely old school and primitive at work here, capturing the claustrophobic, unsettled and fragmented sound of early Illusion of Safety or mid-late ‘80s industrial on a whole, contemporizing it, and filling it in with an obsessive, post-mortem feel. A unique and challenging take on heavy electronics for fans of Puce Mary, She Spread Sorrow, Atrax Morgue. Lmtd 200 copies.. $18.67

Leila Abdul-Rauf - Diminution LP (Cloister Recordings: Crus31)
The follow up to Leila A. Rauf’s 2015 highly acclaimed debut Insomnia, Diminution sees the Bay Area based, multi-instrumentalist take a more stripped-down approach to her uniquely haunting and shadowy soundscapes. While retaining a firm grasp on the feeling of urban loneliness and early morning solitude, Diminution’s tracks are generally longer than previous works and feel more spacious and open, where sparse melodies and gentle textural flow meet ethereal choral vocals, distant trumpet, delicate guitar, and luminous, yet melancholy drones and warm tonal drift. Another spellbinding work from Leila for those seeking solace in quiet and introspective music residing just on edge of consciousness.
Black vinyl edition. Limited to 150 copies. Full color jacket and two-sided insert featuring the masterful artwork of Matthew Jaffe. Layout and Design by James Livingston.. $16.00

Olhon - Fortean Tales LP (Eibon: OHL100)
The return of this heralded atmospheric project consisting of Massimo Magrini (Bad Sector) and Zairo (Where) . "The fate of all explanation is to close one door only to have another fly wide open". Charles Fort. "Fortean tales" takes this concept to a whole new level. It presents a series of organic, pulsating, sound sources recorded (rigorously live) in various "haunted" and mysterious locations throughout Italy. These sources have been subsequently reworked (no added synthesizers or "artificial instruments" were used though) and organized into two 19,00 minutes tracks. Once again, OLHON stun and impress. Destined to all open-minded dark ambient lovers. The LP comes in a limited edition of 400 hand-numbered copies, in marbled brown/orange/green vinyl.. $19.33

Phurpa - Rituals Of Bön II LP (Zoharum: Zohar146-1)
Phurpa is an extraordinary artistic and cultural project, not only on a European scale. For years, its members have been exploring the traditions of Bön – the magical practices of ancient Tibet, Iran and even Egypt, and they take it closer to their listeners.
A year ago the first volume of “Rituals of Bön” was released on vinyl. Zoharum now presents the second volume of this series, based on the recordings from the Moscow gigs where Phurpa performed magic shows lasting up until a few hours. The participants would certainly confirm that they are a highly intensive ritual in which both the band and the audience participate.
As in the case of the previous LP, the second part of the series presents the sacred aspect of the Russian troupe’s activity. It’s more than 40 minutes of shamanic trance. Just like the first volume, this edition on black vinyl is strictly limited to 300 copies.. $19.67

Phurpa & Mare di Dirac - Misericordia [Turin Session] LP (4iB Records: 4iB26LP)
Misericordia [Turin Session] was recorded in Italy on Sept 2015 and is a collaboration between shamanistic Bon spiritualists Phurpa from Russia and experimental drone and field recordings Italian act Mare Di Dirac, fronted by Lorenzo Abattoir.
The overall album drowns you in a meditative tantric soundscape consisting of Alexey Tegin’s deep gutteral vocal vibrations (rgyud-skad) or ‘tantric voice‘ and Lorenzo Abattoir’s dark ambient field recordings and sound effects. Organic sounds are produced by bells, gongs, chimes and traditional hand-made instruments created from human bone and animal remains, resonating a background ambience of calm and prayer.
This very intimate and powerful recording showcases the soul wrenching effects that take hold and the artists ability to shake the foundations of the human subconscious through ritualistic and meditative performance.. $20.00

Sewer Election - Internal LP (Jartecknet: Jart30)
There is no need to provide any introductory notes for Sewer Election as the project is practically an institution by now, constantly exploring new audio and visual territories - Internal is no exception. Compared to the previous Lp released this year by Sewer Election - Malign - the contrasts could not have been sharper. The bleak folkish tunes of Malign are replaced with two longer tracks of decomposed feedback loops and sometimes vociferous, piercing electronics - funneled through amplifiers, adding an airy, yet intense sound. Internal dwells in a musical borderland - hard to fit into any neat musical niche - this of course, should not surprise anyone who is acquainted to the oeuvre of an artist that refuses the road of conformity.". $22.00

Sfär - Sprickor LP (Jartecknet: Jart31)
In the summer of 2016, Mattias Gustafsson (Altar of Flies) and Viktor Ottosson (Blodvite) initiated a collaborate effort in preparation for a live show at the LUFF-festival in Lausanne. This initial effort soon developed into a more enduring constellation, Sfär. For those having some familiarity with the two acts spawning the project will definitely feel the presence of genealogical lines, yet Sfär is something beyond a mere addition of the two projects. The five tracks on their debut album - Sprickor - creates an ensemble of sounds without ever loosing track of the overall picture. Not surprisingly, reel-to-reels are prevalent on the recording but Sprickor adds new dimensions to the mix; exploring text-sound collages, defunct electronics and melancholic compositions. Sprickor is only the first manifestation of a conjoined project aiming to explore new audial worlds.". $22.00

STROM.ec - Electric Current LP (Hospital Productions: HOS596)
‘Electric Current’ collects rarities and obscure cassette and CD-r only tracks form this supreme Finnish rhythmic industrial unit. Despite significant releases all over the sphere of underground industrial, STROM.ec remains criminally underrated. One of the biggest influences and loves for many in the Hospital Productions camp old and new, such as Alberich and Ancient Methods. STROM.ec also stands out from many in the power-noise scene as their approach incorporated cold rainy atmospheres beneath vocals awakening with violence. always incorporating cryptic neurological themes many will be intrigued to discover previously unpublished lyrics that expand on the widening definition of industrial that STROM.ec has contributed, invented and influenced with many of todays contemporaries. STROMSTAD - New Devoted Human LP (Malignant: TumorLP114)
Few names imply mind-bending, forward thinking heavy electronics like Finnish stalwarts STROM.ec, and with every release, they seem to further stretch the boundaries of what can be a pretty rigid genre, and navigate realms never before seen or heard. Similar things can be said of Norwegian atmospheric heavy weight and Malignant staple, Kristoffer Oustad, whose particular strain of dark ambient and post-industrial soundscapes are incredibly dynamic, at times surreal and cinematic, other times more driving and heavy, but all with a recognizable, highly emotive touch. Put the two together, and you get the debut of their collaborative project, STROMSTAD. Spread out over 8 tracks, this is a dizzying exploration of sound and vocal fury, where mechanized pulsations, writhing frequency oscillations, and grinding machine loops meet stretches of drifting darkness and touches of musicality, suggestive of a future that’s dystopic and bleak on one hand, yet highly innovative and revolutionary on the other.
Featuring a guest appearance by Grutle Kjellson from the mighty Enslaved, mastering by Nordvargr, paintings by Jeff Klena and design by Alonso Urbanos. Lmtd edition 250 gatefold sleeve, black vinyl. $18.67

Tome of the Unreplenished - Cosmoprism: The Theurgy - Act I LP (Order of Theta: Theta005)
Vinyl issue of Tome of the Unreplenished's latest offering, previously released on CD by I,Voidhanger Records, and featuring esteemed members of Spectral Lore, and Necrosadist.
An exercise in audial dissonance, TotU's 6-track EP seeks to portray in no uncertain terms what some might consider a mind-bending revelation of cosmic proportions. It has been variously described as "a dive into the depths of insanity" (Metal Invader), "raw, primeval, and degenerative"(Metal Recussants)and "terrifying music for terrifying times" (Invisible Oranges), and is an expression of pure disdain and nihilism - blackened noise terror supreme, with smeared textures and ritualistic chaos, where any semblance of structure and melody to arise gets swallowed by chthonic howls and writhing masses of inharmonious atmospheres. Highly recommended fans of Gnaw Their Tongues, Black Earth, and the like.
Comes on black 12"/33RPM vinyl with fold-out covers bearingtheexceptional artwork of Alex Dictator featured on the original CDversion by I, Voidhanger.. $12.00

Trepaneringsritualen - Kainskult LP (Blood Red Vinyl Edition) (Tesco: Tesco119BRLP)
Kainskult keeps all the basic building blocks of Perfection & Permanence: the tribal drumming, the atavistic propulsion, the clattering metal percussion, and the abysmal growls. But somehow it reaches a new level of intensity, both sonically and lyrically. The latter read like a hallucinatory celebration of Kain, the Original Heresiarch. He is cast in the role of archetypal transgressor; the brother to all who wage war against the tyranny of Yaldabaoth. He raises the stone above His head, and with one willful strike slays His brother, the cowering slave. Through this one action He draws the Mark upon his skin, and sets in motion a series of events that will ultimately lead to the dissolution of the created worlds. Lmtd 500 on blood red vinyl. $23.99

Tusen Ar Under Jord - Sandhavens Genklang LP (Verlautbarung: Mitt39)
Verlautbarung are proud to present a series of exotic aural vignettes, like the dim phantasms populating the minds of Victorian armchair ethnographers. Dreams of long bygone customs, queer moonlit processions and pre-Sufic mystics. Journeys through teeming, hascheesh-ridden bazaars to the remote outposts of the vast dunescapes. The murmur of a hermit's unbroken wake, huddled by the doorway to the proper crypt of Khefren. All this framed by the ever swirling monomania of discordant flutes, vague swirling melodies obscured amidst incessant ethno-percussion and loops.

Various Artists - Drone-Mind//Mind-Drone Vol. 5 LP (Drone: Mind05)
Four "Drones" on one record! Volume Five features:
GYDJA: (New Zealand) Enchanting female drone esoterica by an artist who is also known through her stunning artworks for COLD SPRING and other labels. Through magnetic winds and metallic clouds the long track "Gjallarbru" creates a wonderful secretful and sensitive atmosphere; very lonely and frosty, like a cold and clear consciousness released on a high mountain, on top of the world...
CLADE, (Scotland / USA) Named after a notion taken from biology science (=Monophylum), this duo is based in Scotland and USA, alluring with very focused minimal drones on so far four releases. The two tracks presented here stand out with their use of somehow refractional, fibrous sounds, placed on monotonus drones with a very sedative and insistent effect...
MONOCUBE: (Ukraine) This "ethereal drone" discovery from Ukraine moves musically through endless spaces, creating choral-like aural clouds and strange melodies => self-supporting drones with an incredible width, when even the smallest particles of concrete microsound encountering are exciting, entering into a heavenly "song of the sirens" choir..
YRSEL : (France) Another bi-national project is this French-Swedish collaboration of JULIEN LOUVET (2:13 PM, etc.) and C-J LARSGÅRDEN (ONDO),who released three albums so far. Their track "Krstnhmnbrtncrt" consists of very heavy, swallowing drones with atonal elements coming to the surface, diffus and poisonous but also lulling you into a deep (dead) sleep., slowly drowning in dense humming waves of cryptic drones...
