Darkrad - Abnormal Love ( Cold Meat Industry: CMI214)
Debut of this dark-industrial project of multi-talented Russian artist Jana Komaritsa (known as JanaDark). Textbook CMI sounds here....gloomy atmospheres that are at times surreal and illusory, and other times more solid and forceful, recalling the looping percussive clang of Deutsch Nepal or early Morthound. One brief foray into dance floor territory seems out of place and unnecessary, but that shouldn't sour you from an otherwise sound debut.. $15.66

Dawn & Dusk Entwined - A L'Aube des Jours Anciens ( Aube & Crepuscule: A&C05)
“A l’aube des jours anciens” is a journey through ancient and mythical lands of Europe, long before the kings and the only God. A soundtrack from mythical and magical times when no one remembers when reality became legend, when mythology met history.
The strength, the sense of epic and enthusiasm evoked by powerful and tribal influenced percussions: thunder and lightenings as drums, the genuine sound of the carnyx (the Celtic horn of war) amongst other ancient sounds, strongly sang vocals and memorable tunes give sense of this mythical evocation...
An almost physical experience, a direct link to the old heathen forces...
The music presents a fine taster of neo-classical, pounding martial, ambiant and neo-folk - and many more - that has for some years become the recognizable D&DE trademark, and defies the rigid confines of the "industrial genre"…. $13.66

DEATHSTENCH - Massed in Black Shadow ( Black Plagve: Infect11)
Debut full length from the Los Angeles based duo of Darea Plantin and John-Paul Whetzel, also known for their work in the misanthropic black-doom trio, Welter in Thy Blood.
Within their short discography, DEATHSTENCH has proven particularly adept incorporating elements of death industrial, dark ambient, doom, and black metal, and hideously transforming and molding them into a writhing mass of absolute filth and abject darkness. Built upon field recordings, scrap metal percussion, harrowing electronics, down tuned guitar & bass, and demonic vocalizations, the sound is both nihilistic and vile, rife with occult incantations, buzzing, distorted horror, and saturated walls of droning depravity that dissolve into roiling murk and hellish, blackened smear. Their latest installment, Massed in Black Shadow, is an impious communion summoning and invoking the soundtrack for all death to come. 6 tracks, totaling just over 45 minutes, guaranteed to deliver some of the most terrifying and purely misanthropic sounds you’re likely to find anywhere. “Bastards of the Black Flame” features additional sounds and effects by Cory Rowell of Demonologists, and all tracks are mastered by Billy Anderson (Neurosis, Sleep, Eyehategod, Crisis).
For fans of Steel Hook Prostheses, MZ.412, Brighter Death Now, Abruptum.. $11.00

Deepspace is a pseudonym for Mirko Ruckels, a German-born ambient/electronic musician who now resides in Brisbane, Australia. His previous releases have been self-released, and The Glittering Domain is his debut on Hypnos Secret Sounds. Abstract and definitely "ambient" in nature, The Glittering Domain simultaneously exhibits a strong musical sensibility, with a sound and structure reminiscent of artists such as Vidna Obmana and Numina. Though Hypnos may be best known for unstructured "drone" style recordings, we really enjoy a recording like this one that has more of a tonal basis.. $5.00

Demonologists - Miscarriage of the Soul CDr ( Crucial Blast: Blaze007)
The latest assault from the Crucial Blaze series. Miscarriage Of The Soul is a new full-length from the Indiana blacknoise duo Demonologists, whose lineup includes a former member of cult black metal weirdoes Ensepulchred; this band has been possessing the sound system at Crucial Blast over the past year, with releases like their split with Blue Sabbath Black Cheer and the Sermons Of Death And Eternal Damnation tape that recently came out on Waves Of Decay getting mucho play. Their grim, malevolent noisescapes are as extreme as it gets, going beyond mere industrial black noise into Merzbow-style levels of ultra violent electronic destruction. This is ritualistic deathworship rendered through howling, smoking amplifiers, extreme pedal abuse, and hateful vocalizations, equal parts infernal power electronics, obliterated black metal buzz, and crushing harsh industrial noise. Total nihilism. Absolute misanthropy.
Miscarriage Of The Soul features five tracks of this nuclear strength sonic hate, and be warned, this is not for wimps. Beginning with opener "Necro Prayers", the band descends into an inferno of seething HNW that masks the sound of eerie chiming ambience and reverberating gongs, an ominous black ambience veiled by corrosive hiss, revealing stretched out minor key melodies bathing in the black coruscating fire. On the following track "Chalice Of Snake Venom And Piss", that metallic creaking dissonance is first to appear, joined by a soft downpour of fuzz and crackle, but within moments it becomes swallowed up within a crushing monstrous wall of black noise; you can hear bits of vague minor key creep, horrific industrial chaos and screeching demonic vokills all along the periphery of this howling maelstrom of distortion and static, the sounds constantly struggling to rise through the impenetrable ocean of amplifier filth, like the sounds of hell itself obscured by the roar of a volcanic eruption. The blackened noise of Wold is one reference point for what Demonologists are doing here, but this goes much deeper into pure noise. Then suddenly halfway through the track, the noise completely drops out, and it's just an expanse of dark ambience and strange, dissonant processed strings that lasts for a moment; and almost as quickly as it appeared, it's devoured by the raging noise, which now becomes much more static and dense, the various sounds within it pushed even deeper, with just traces of them bleeding through, the final five minutes essentially becoming a pure wall of hiss and static.
On "Suicide Stench", however, the band summons creepy repetitive melodies up through the swirling grit, looped pianos and strings surrounded on all sides by a massive whirling cloud of static, sounding as if we're listening to a horror movie score being played underneath a Vomir disc, like a nightmarish orchestral/HNW piece. "The Blood Of Black Wolves" follows suit, combining a dense, suffocating noise wall with shimmering ominous drones and minor key melody, creating a really psychedelic effect as the different sounds merge together and form auditory hallucinations; this stops at the six minute mark, the harsh noise disappearing and replaced with just the nightmarish looped melodies and mysterious textural sounds panning from speaker to speaker and whirling through the darkness. The title track comes last, beginning with a minimal organ drone; then a pounding drum beat appears, joined with droning strings and swells of metallic synth for a moment, but this lasts only briefly. A minute later, it explodes back into churning noise, with loud coruscating drones running through the storm of blackened noise wall, bits of suspenseful orchestral sound bleeding through, later erupting into a chorus of horrific screams while the buzzing noise rages all around; in the final minutes of this track, the noise once again drops out, and it's just legions of screaming voices trapped in infinite suffering, slowly fading out as the album comes to a close.Miscarriage Of The Soul also includes a twenty-eight page black and white chapbook filled with crepuscular visions and nightmare delirium from the band: strange abstract photo-collages, twilight photography, cobwebbed basements, death totems, and portraits of decomposition are all collected here. The package comes in a clear dvd-style library case, and also contains a vinyl Demonologists sticker and a 1" badge, and is issued in a hand-numbered edition of 250 copies.. $9.00

Der Blutharsch - Flying High! ( WKN: WKN34)
Flying High!” with this psychedelic combat cry, one of the most eccentric and innovative projects from Austria returns. On their ninth studio album, Der Blutharsch continues travelling in the direction they took back in 2005, when the former guru of martial industrial/military pop, Albin Julius, and his band, rocketed towards the deep space of psychedelia. One of the most controversial bands of the last decade staked its claim anew, totally breaking with old images, clichés and tunes. Having already started on the last album “The Philosopher’s Stone,” the walls of guitars and repetitive chants are recognizable. Flying High! transforms this into a programmatic climax. If you start thinking Sunn O))), Guru Guru, Amon Dül, Tangerine Dream or Godspeed You! Black Emperor you are not to far away, but most of the apocalyptic feeling which you are already used to is still inherent. Highly influenced by the American west coast sound of the late sixties with small doses of that which some people used to call Krautrock. The tracks develop into each other, ambient parts followed by ecstatic deathrock songs and then they glide into a wall of sound. The guest parts on the vocal side are full of well known artists: besides Bain Wolfkind and Albin Julius or Gianni Serusi, you discover 1980s legend Patrick Leagas who celebrates the title song in his typical distinctive manner. Flying High! is a dark record, it mixes eros and deathwish, productivity with destructivity. Since the release of “When Did Wonderland End?,” Der Blutharsch have mutated into a psychedelic rock monster; their motto, “into new territories!;” their symbol for this mutation, a battle fought not by marching but by flying, “Flying High!” Flying High! is a weird trip for blown minds through the dark worlds of today’s society, passing love, hate and lust during its journey into the center of the sun! The CD comes in a stunning foil blocked digipak, painted with glow-in-the-dark ink, covered in a neatly-designed folder.. $17.99

Der Blutharsch - Live in Leiden ( WKN: WKN37)
Live in Leiden by Der Blutharsch is the 3rd album in a series of live recordings - after "Live at The Monastery" and "Live in Copenhagen". Live in Leiden was recorded at "The Night of Confusion" held September 28th 2oo4 at the legendary venue LVC and was the "most controversial" concert in the 40 years history of the club. Nevertheless, the night was a huge success, as this recording bears out. At the same time it is the last live recording of the "old" Blutharsch - a small reminder about what Der Blutharsch was infamous for before they morphed into "era two" and turned into a dark psychedelic kraut monster. This is a great live document of a concert of the the band who invented "martial industrial" as well as "military pop" - a MUST of all die hard fans of this genre as well as for people who want to know why this band once has been considered "dangerous". The CD comes in a foilblocked digipak.. $16.50

Der Blutharsch & The Infinite Church Of The Leading Hand + Aluk Todolo - A Collaboration ( WKN: WKN41)
This CD is a collaboration between French masters of psychedelic doom, Aluk Todolo, and Austria's, Der Blutharsch & The Infinite Church Of The Leading Hand, reincarnated from the ashes of the infamous band Der Blutharsch. Following the same concept as Der Blutharsch's 7 inch collaboration with NYC`s psychedelic force, White Hills, both bands provided each other, this time with two, basic tracks to work on. The result is a heavy mix of both bands unique styles, creating a strange and dark new universe of gloom and brightness .A journey into a strange underworld of music, a trip into the most "far out" and hidden corners of your mind, a dangerous joyride on a ketamine flavoured breeze of lysergic bliss. 4 10 minute + tracks of semi-structured, strange and hypnotic '70s psychedelic rock flavored with dirgey bass, swirling textures, and of course, doom (though not so far as to tread into doooooom territory).. $17.33

Der Tod & das Madchen - d=Moll ( Lichterklang: LK007)
The album "d-Moll“ is a musical anthology of long forgotten lyricists, longing back to the death of Goethe. The elegies all evolving from the 19th century reveal the sadness and the pain of the loss of close relatives. Melancholy and transience, deathwish and madness, dream and reality crystalize themselves out of these thoughts and build the basis of "d-Moll“. The area of romanticism, especially the so called black romanticism, focuses around these motives that are now being displayed by the album. Inspired by composers of the romantic times the extinct poetry is based on the dark and melancholic tunes of a piano, "Du Verwaistes Haus“, based on a composition by Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach, being the only exception, standing out as an example for the decline of that classical epoch from it’s instrumental basis. C.P.E. Bach was regarded to be the umbral composer even during his lifetime by the veracuty of his father. The closing words by the German imperator Wilhelm II. from 1904 build the end of the album, questioning the human arrogance with his words "the world is so big und we are so small, how come that we expect to circle everything around us“. 11 musical sonnetts of almost exclusively classical piano with vocals.. $6.00

Des Esseintes - Les Diaboliques ( Malignant: TumorCD23)
If Magnus Sundstrom's more well known project The Protagonist is DrJekyll, then his side project, des Esseintes can certainly be seen as a MrHyde..a more sinister alter ego, bent on destructive behavior, representing a liberation of the dark side and a more primitive being, that once freed from the bonds of conscience, becomes harder and harder tocontrol. And thus, we have des Esseintes. Based on a collection of shortstories by Jean-Barbey d'Aurevilly, Les Diaboliques is the first fulllength album for des Esseintes, and it's truly a masterwork. The result is an existentialistic inferno of various musical trash and harshrhythms, with clanging, mechanized percussion barely cushioned by amenacing ambience of cinematically styled electronics igniting thebackground. These are dark regions explored on the six tracks here, populated by stomping behemoths that threaten to crush with every step, and shards of visceral, dynamic textures that slice across the proverbialsonic landscape. And while Magnus' work has certainly garneredrecognition, Les Diaboliques may just solidify him in the lexicon of theindustrial public, or take him to a whole new level. Greatly appealing tonot only fans of old school greats such as SPK and Test Dept, but to thosefans of CMI and even some Hands material.. $5.00

Deutsch Nepal - Amygdala ( Autarkeia: ACD066)
Amygdala is the latest album of the Swedish industrial music guru Der General. After listening to this album, one finds it difficult to decide whether it is a masterpiece of hypnotic music, the hallucinations of delirium tremens or perhaps the sign announcing the approaching apocalypse? Magnificent, gloomy and profound tracks create the atmosphere reminding the last days of the last member of the royal family or the celebration of the collapse of its era by a majestic empire. But that is only the general mood of the album. The tracks are very different from each other. Some of them frightful, some majestic, while the rest are calm and deep like dreams. And yet the subject matter of all lyrics is in one or another way related to death and the secret lurking behind it. Actually, Der General conveys it with remarkable subtlety. The album contains a number of crescendos, at least three hits and yet none of them reveal the secret fully. Der General music mesmerises with its slow and massive rhythms inherent most probably only to the Scandinavian electronics, and icy ambient flow inborn to the Northern men. Amygdala is the undisclosed secret. In various shapes it occurs throughout the album tracks where Der General to Heaven travels to meet Jesus and the holy family and investigate the nature of the supernatural ecstasy. Something bothers him and he leaves Heaven. In other tracks he states that we have to be reborn and continue living, later he takes part in the mystic funeral train burying and then resurging dead dogs. Upon their revival, the dogs attack the participants of the train and spread panic. Amygdala is a very colourful kaleidoscope of psychedelic visions. Der General concludes the album by letting us know that it is all clear to him and that the atmosphere is absolutely rotten. Perhaps it is a result of the empty bottle, or much more serious reason. Sorry, quite expensive.. $13.66

Deutsch Nepal - Erosion ( Autarkeia: ACD035)
Finally a re-issue of this long out of print CD from 1999. Arguably one of Deutsch Nepal's more depressing works. At the time, Lina had the persistent feeling that this would be the very last Deutsch Nepal release, and that nothing would remain...perhaps only death. As such, this definitely has a downtrodden vibe...more minimalistic than most of what he'd recorded in the past, moving quietly through delusional, dark, and surreal Deutsch Nepal soundscapes with sombre vocals and hypnotic loops. I think it's important to listen to this one as a whole, as there's a definite cohesiveness to this release that's not immediately evident if you skip around.. $8.00

Diagnose: Lebensgefahr - Transformalin ( Infinite Fog: IF-24)
Project of Nattramn, whose ‘Death—Pierce Me’ album under the project name Silencer stand as a defining work in the suicidal black metal movement. Now, I love black metal, but I'm always suspect of black metallers doing the industrial thing. This album however, which originally dates back to 2005 when it was self-released, is pretty legit; horribly bleak and intensely psychotic, and very capable of navigating it's way through dark ritual ambient, power electronics, martial, and noise-influenced industrial, with ease and confidence. The result is at once schizophrenic yet cohesive, and quite overwhelming in it's negativity and nihilism- obviously the product of a disturbed and ingenious mind.
Though mostly instrumental, Nattramn does provide ‘narration’ from time to time with primarily clean vocals that range from manically impassioned to psalm-tone catatonia. Jewel box, with extensive booklet.. $15.66

Lmtd edition 200 version, A5 hardcover with the large-format printingof the booklet on 16 pages and a postcard from special paper.. $38.00

Different State - The Frigid Condition ( Zoharum: Zohar036-2)
"The Frigid Condition" is composed of 10 new songs uncovering the new, surprising face of the project; yet, it is not deprived of the typical elements that Marek Marchoff has managed to get us accustomed to via Different State's previous works. Their alchemical mixture of illbient, industrial and psychedelia is most visibly experienced on this particular album. Loads of new elements were added byVera Beren - the new band member.
Not surprisingly, John Kilgore, the engineer of the album (known as a Sonic Youth, Robert Rich and Frank Zappa collaborator amongst others), left its significant mark on "The Frigid Condition".. $11.00

Dim Arcana - Ars Populi ( Black Drone: BDRL010)
Dim Arcana was born in the a.d. MMVIII, from the intent to recall ancient atmospheres of death and pestilence, dreadful environments where the man of the medieval times lived. Influenced by the greatest names of the ambient scene (like Uruk-Hai, Raison D'etre, Equimanthorn) the duo presents a medieval dark ambient with great noise and drone influences, alternating orchestral passages of ethereal rhyming. Lavish breaths of past times serve as frames, where bells of churches and ancestral instruments bring you back in medieval Europe. This debut full length album follows the EP Yersinia also released by Black Drone. CD comes in beautifully designed 6-panel digipak and includes 12-page booklet with texts and illustrations. 6 panel digipak, + 12 page booklet.. $5.00

Dimeth Trip - Instructions from Konstantin Lopushansky ( Autarkeia: ACD058)
This disc is a joint project of two independent labels Autarkeia and Moontrix. Geid and Dega, members of the industrial/ambient formation Maldur Atai, have recorded an album inspired by fatal post-apocalyptic films of the talented Russian director Konstantin Lopushansky. In their musical work, Geid and Dega build the atmosphere reminscent of a horrible nightmare where the future can be glimpsed only in eerie fragments of the past. The new post-apocalyptic world is bizarre and hopeless, therefore, the surviving people dream to wake up. Sadly, the dream would not go away. That is a new reality with no existential meaning, an absolute dead-end that has destroyed the majority and made the surviving ones wish for death. The message of the album authors, like the films of the Russian director, is crystal clear: the dream is soon set to become the only prospect of the human civilisation. Dimeth Trip's disc Instructions From Konstantin Lopushansky is a fine industrial/ambient album distinguished by its tough atmosphere and containing a number of samples from Konstantin Lopushansky’s films. Moreover, it is a clear warning that we have come to the limit. Once we step over the line, there is no way back. Mastering for the record was made by ambient genius Peter Andersson. $13.33

D.I.N. - Phase Retard Extinction ( 205 Recordings: 205Rec898)
Nordvargr and Ulvtharm and Ulf "Wierdo Beardo" Gustafsson doing crushing distorted disco... think Ant-Zen style, but with a dark twist. Persistent and relentless beats with cold, analog crunch! Recorded during the last 10 (yes TEN!) years.. $5.00

Dissecting Table - Dissecting Table/Self Terror Session CDr ( UPD: UPD068)
Not a new Dissecting Table release, but rather a studio recording from 1988 featuring Kenji Kamei of the group Self Terror, that's essentially a high quality rehearsal for a live performance. Pretty remarkable stuff regardless of the date, capturing the early DT sound built more on structure, percussion, some nearly electro-style rhythms, and bass loops, with the traditional DT vocal stylings.. $13.77

Dissecting Table - Early Studio Works 1986/87 ( Steinklang: SK-IN06)
Dissecting Table is one of the most influential Noise artists from the early Japanese Industrial years. The first Dissecting Table recordings are quite unique in the Japanese Industrial scene, as the band was working with very concrete rhythms and screaming voices and they even had dark and slow songs, which was completely untypical for this time and region. The only comparisons to early Dissecting Table recordings might be the legendary albums of Grim and White Hospital. In early 2007 Steinklang released the double-CD "Ultra Materials 1986-1991", which included the first 7", the first LP, the first CD and early compilation tracks. "Early Studio Works 1986/87" finishes the last chapter of unreleased early Dissecting Table songs. The CD includes 6 earlier/original versions of songs, that were later released on the first 7" and on the first LP, as well as 5 completely unreleased tracks. 61 min. / 11 tracks. $7.00

Dissecting Table - Expanding Awareness 2CDr ( UPD: UPD066)
Not a lot of the classic DT doom stuff here - more a crazed collision of spazzed out noise chaos, sky rocketing oscillations, industrial churn, and hyper glitch. In odd, homemade packaging, lmtd 20.. $8.00

Dissecting Table - Nothingness! = Null CDr ( UPD: UPD067)
3 long tracks from Ichiro - the first a battle of fractured, psychedelic chaos with junk soundscapes and hyper glitch, the remaining two tracks a maelstrom of darkened noise swarm and metallic, insectile drone. Lmtd 50. $6.00

Dissecting Table - Performance of Installation 'Random Decoder' ( UPD: UPD071)
Recording of a sound sculpture piece created by Ichiro, makes for something different than what you'd normally expect out of DT - raw, hollow, scraping and ringing noises on the first track, denser, junk metal cacophony and resonant, feedback swirl on the second track, eventually erupting into something very noisy near the end. Both tracks come in around 17 minutes each. Comes with booklet explaining the installation.. $13.33

Dissecting Table/Sektor 304 - Split CDr ( UPD: UPD091)
Real old school meets new old school! One nearly 30 minute track from Dissecting Table covers a broad spectrum of cluttered, psychedelic, spaced out noise, heavy on the glitch and spiraling tonal blasts. Sektor's 3 tracks are, as expected, epic; full on dirge and grinding machine noises playing out amidst wavering, unhealthy frequencies and lurching percussion. Less structured and generally more atmospheric than you'd find on something like Soul Cleansing or Subliminal Actions (and actually reminiscent of Anenzephalia in parts), yet retaining that Sektor sound you crave. Quite mandatory, as you can imagine.. $12.66

Dogpop - Jahrmarkt Der Verlorenen Kinder ( Umbkollektif: UMB007)
Dogpop return six years after their well-received debut "Popgod" (POP1, 2003) and the preview-CDR "In Dog We Trust" (POP2, 2008). Since then, things have changed. Thirteen tracks of abstract weirdness, entertaining anti-pop tunes presented in doggy dancefloor style. "Jahrmarkt der verlorenen Kinder" is the modern incarnation of dadaistic German New Wave (e.g. Der Plan, Pyrolator, Der Mußikant, DAF), but also integrates more modern lo-fi tunes and post-industrial structures. A collaborative effort between Anenzephalia and The Musick Wreckers (post Thorofon).. $11.00

Donis - Vacuum ( Autarkeia: ACD003)
This is not the latest Donis' record. It was recorded in 1997, when Lithuania was still in deepest electronic music crisis. "Vacuum" had waited seven years for his real live in personal Donis' archive. The album consists of only one long track, that could be ascribed to "ambient' stylistics. Tough the sound of album proposes feeling of dark emptiness, it can not be described as "dark ambient". By it's influence "Vacuum" reminds "Coil's" ambient works that take you to the psychedelic trip. Extremely low generator vibration in record doesn't allow the feeling that you're high in the mountains to go out. The air is being crossed by toneless and icy sound, music motives are deep and sharp. Every stream of sound will work out as if you, the listener, are in a trip of deep emptiness. Album lasts for 65 minutes. It’s packed in a special black DVD box. We recommend you to listen to “Vacuum’ only on Hi-fi stereo. Limited edition 499 copies.. $5.00

Dove Yellow Swans - Live During War Crimes #3 ( Release the Bats: RTB038)
The final installment in the Live During War Crimes trilogy, this one being one of the last releases ever from Yellow Swans. Four unedited live sets from the bands last year in existence. Included are the PDX Pop Now set (July 2007), a live soundtrack to a film by Avalon Kalin (February 2008), a set from the Picador, Iowa City (October 2007), and the final US show in Chicago (June 2008). Big sounding stuff, very loud and very dense, with the melodic guitarwork being more prominent just as on the last couple of releases. Epic, sky-shredding beauty in a total playtime of 78 minutes. Mastered by Timothy Stollenwerk at Stereophonic Mastering. Comes in a gatefold sleeve with black felt, cover art by Ryan Boyle.. $4.00

Drape Excrement/Soldnergeist - Black Rider ( Steinklang: SK32)
A split CD featuring a collection of early, unreleased tracks from these legendary industrial acts. Grim and bleak ‘factory drones’ and shimmering pulsations, leaning towards heavy electronics, but still staying within the realm of dark ambient. The later tracks on the Soldnergeist portion are particularly strong…heavier, grimier, more agonizing.. $7.00

Drone Lebanon/Wertham - Roma & Yerushalayim ( Topheth Prophet: TP013)
The battle between Rome & Jerusalem continues through the ages. Spirituality vs. Materialism, Civitate Dei vs. Sin City. But where is Rome ? and where is Jerusalem... and which is which? New release by the promising newcomer, Drone Lebanon and a scene veteran, Wertham (featuring John Murphy of Knifeladder, SPK, Whitehouse, Death In June etc.etc.). "Opening with Drone Lebanon, the opening track sends the listener into religious atmospheres of ritual chant. Shortly after religious act is being overwhelmed by crushing waves of destructive electronics wiping out any sign of musical tone. The combination of Middle-Eastern music culture and crushing symphonies is extremely effective. As the album develops, Drone Lebanon makes a slight change into more technoid sound worlds with the piece titled "Self hating jew" that reminds of early Wumpscut added some excellent black metal-sounding distorted vocals of Drone Lebanon. Other moments of Drone Lebanon takes the listener into ambient atmospheres, though don't expect any sonic tranquillity from this guy. Second artist on the split album, Wertham, opens his part of the apocalyptic show with a sweet children's choir, soon after completely destroyed by hordes of high frequency noise. The first piece from Wertham is a long epic piece of ambient noise, consisting of eastern chants, expressive noise moments, distant voices and buzz-drones. Though circulating in the same stylish spheres Wertham is slightly more subdued compared to the harsh sounds of Drone Lebanon. Though both artists should appeal to all listeners of grinding music. $3.00
