Abs6 - Audiomedikation ( Hymen: Y785)
Describing the contents of this debut album is no mean feat: you will find a mixture of idm-like patterns, drum'n'bass and deep ambient structures accompanied by straight forward basslines and pounding electro beats. It is the composition and amalgamation of various elements to achieve a broad-ranged heterogeneity. Either soothingly calm or playful, each song is a structural element on its own. Abs6 successfully connects and mixes different styles. His influences range from warp heroes Autechre and Aphex Twin to Venetian Snares, including as well breakbeat giants like Black Sun Empire and ltj Bukem: Audiomedikation is the result of this melting pot of influences. it is an administration of drugs for long-term patients suffering from boredom. Enjoy the ride!. $9.00

Aelter - Dusk Dawn/Follow You Beloved 2CD ( Crucial Blast: CBR98)
One of several side-projects to emerge from the Wolvserpent camp, Aelter is the solo effort of Wolvserpent guitarist Blake Green. With Aelter, Blake explores a similar realm of dark majestic sound to Wolvserpent, with his massive downtuned guitar roar and bleak minor key melodies being the common thread between the two projects. But where Wolvserpent blends this chugging Melvins-esque heaviness and haunting slowcore arpeggios with violins, pounding drums, and a propensity for extended hypno-dirges, Aelter dispenses with the drums almost completely and goes for a more cinematic approach using layered keyboards and gorgeous harmonized voices that reminds me of something you would have heard on Beggers Banquet or 4AD being fused to a malevolent black heaviness. Both of the Aelter albums were only released on vinyl in limited editions of a few hundred copies and are close to going out of print completely, but we have now gathered both Dusk Dawn and Follow You Beloved together in a double disc set.. $12.50

Aere Aeternus - Humanity Needs No Funeral ( Kaosthetik: KSTK006)
Re-stock! "Humanity Needs No Funeral", the first full-length album from Aere Aeternus, is released on the French label Kaosthetik. With a multi-national and eclectic lineup, the band comprises Alex (Macabre Omen, The One, Razor of Occam), Claudio Alcara (Frostmoon Eclipse, Striszek), Cyr (Dark Sanctuary, Elektronic Society) and Radu. Drawing on the wide range and considerable musical experience of its members, Aere Aeternus creates a dark, disturbing atmosphere that probably best fits within the ambient and minimalist genres, and which the band themselves describe as "half misanthropic ritual and half sex ritual." Very obscure and brooding sounds full of spoken incantations, ritual percussion, and just a very evil, disturbing vibe all around. The dominant atmosphere combines a sense of impending insanity with sexual deviancy and a large dollop of occultism, creating a dark and troubling misanthropic sojourn that is relatively unique. The final track is probably the most musical, as it is centred on a guitar arpeggio, but no such concessions to convention are present elsewhere on this deeply troubling disk. The accompanying video of "Invocation" shows a Satanic ritual in all its kitchsy glory. Recommended for those looking for something a darker than the usual entities. .. $7.00

Aeterna - New Dawn ( Cold Meat Industry: CMI199)
Awake the New Dawn! Aeterna is a new apocalyptic folk outfit from Germany, born in 2007. In the beginning it was intended to be the strictly personal musical outlet for founding member Birthe Klementowski, well-known from her artwork for Cold Meat Industry’s Desiderii Marginis, :Golgatha: and Dawn & Dusk Entwined, but the dynamics between Alpha and Omega brought forth something new. The dark and brooding atmospheres invoke the mood of decline and decay, a direct resemblance to the artist’s photography. The album ‘New Dawn’ ultimately presents 11 songs about the decline and rebirth of culture.Aeterna does not serve ideological pattern but presents the musical and visual output as an inspiration for the audience. Death is always the beginning of a new circle. Out of hopelessness arises a New Dawn. As the earth faces the end of resources and the destruction of nature, the loss of spiritual values and the total virtualisation of the all-day life, mankind experiences a self made inferno. We have to turn and find new ways… Aeterna is a prayer for these new ways. For new spiritual values to ignite the fire of enlightenment once more. To create something new out of the old roots. The Old Gods eventually may not return, but the Eternal Principle is still there. The music of Aeterna is based on ritualistic and shamanistic structures, mainly acoustic sounds, and invoking chants – all based on the dualistic principle of male and female energy – Alpha & Omega. Aeterna is a trans-modern, neo-shamanistic, animistic art project. A Luciferian hymnus to awake the New Dawn…. $6.00

Aghast - Hexerei Im Zwielicht Der Finsternis ( Eternal Pride: EPP014)
Russian re-issue of the CMI release from 1994, this remains one of the downright spookiest, dread filled dark ambient releases ever. Minimalistic, heavily reverbed tones with ghostly female vocalizations (wails and incantations) courtesy of the two "witches" that make up Aghast. Incredibly effective and very visual music (think, ghostly figures floating through dense forest as the fog comes rolling in) that pretty much demands you hunker down with it with all lights off. I've always been amazed no one's tried to do something like this in the 15 years since it's initial release.. $9.00

Aidan Baker/thisquietarmy - Orange ( Lunasylum: PO1)
Orange is the first collaboration between the two Canadian guitarists Aidan Baker & Eric Quach. After sharing a bill together in 2005 with their respective bands Mnemosyne & Destroyalldreamers, they have begun to exchange recording files by post mail, which were then mixed by Quach in Montreal during the summer of 2006. The result was released a few months later as a 30-min EP through Quach's imprint (TQA Records) and limited to only 200 CD-R copies. Lunasylum is proud to re-issue Orange as a re-edited, remastered and extended 47-min full-length CD, with the addition of 4 extra tracks from the same sessions that were left behind five years ago. Flowing rivers of textured drones, gentle, elongated melodies, and Eno-esque ambience while periodically moving into a denser, more ominous realm. Lmtd 500 copies.. $5.00

Ain Soph - October 2nd Edition CD/3inch ( OEC: OECD044)
10 years later, the follow-up to Aurora. When will these guys slow down?? Don't expect the dark, ritual style of the early works…this is purely structured discordant rock, with electric guitar and all Italian vocals. Still, with roots in the industrial underground, this maintains a healthy experimental edge as it tells tales of a young Russian man during the October Revolution. I’d venture to say that Novy Svet and Mushrooms Patience fans may enjoy this, not just for the weirdness factor, but for the slight similarities in sound from time to time. This NEW edition comes with completely new designed art work and an additional 3" mini CD containing a new audio track recorded in 2008 + a video track. $6.66

Akoustik Timbre Frekuency - Kthonik Korridors CDr ( ATF Produktions: ATF004)
Akoustik Timbre Frekuency utilises a variety of ritual instruments including singing bowls, rain sticks, Tibetan horns, aura chimes, shamanik rattles as well as synthesised sounds to create trance-augmenting background atmospherics for ritual usage. Compositions have been created using field recordings from locations ranging from treetops to sewers, from nature parks to pubs on a Friday night. With Kthonik Korridors, ATF has created an homage to H.P. Lovecraft (in commeration of 73 years since his death), with 6 tracks of cryptic, sepuchral ambience that can used as background atmospherics for Rites dedicated to the Cthulhu mythos. Instrumentation for this recording include singing bowls, flutes, rattles, synth and a large chunk of meatset upon with knives, machetes and a pitchfork. Includes the requisite reverb and heavy echo to great effect, and the result is a very dark, creepy, and haunting recording perhaps remiscent of Profane Grace to some degree, albeit with greater production values.. $5.00

Allerseelen - Rauhe Schale ( Ahnstern: Ahnstern44)
"Rauhe Schale" ('Rough Shell') is the brand new album from Austrian legends Allerseelen, which fascinates musically as well as visually. Everything moves and flows in a field of force between industrial, metal, folklore and pop. Lovers of bands like Einstürzende Neubauten, Laibach or Underworld could also fall in love with Allerseelen. Gerhard Hallstatt sometimes describes his music as Electronic Folklore or Apocalyptic Rock. But basically there is no real description for Allerseelen - all attempts to find an expression for their music may be valid for some time, yet lose their meaning after a couple of months or years. The songs were inspired by various magical mystery tours in Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Greece, Italy and Slovenia. Gerhard is assisted here by Dimo Dimov (Svarrogh, Miel Noir, Sturmpercht), Marcel P. (Sagittarius, Halgadom), Meri Tadic (Eluveitie) and Annabel Lee (Blood Axis). 70 mins. of music in a digipak with booklet.. $8.00

Allerseelen/Sangre Cavallum - Barco do Vinho ( Ahnstern: Ahnstern21)
Barco do Vinho is the Portuguese word for Wine Boat - the boats that in the past brought the barrels of wine from the vineyards in Callaecia (Northern Portugal) on the river Douro to the town of Porto. The CD features four exclusive songs by the Northern-Portuguese group Sangre Cavallum and four exclusive songs by the Austrian group Allerseelen - ancient and traditional but at the same time brand-new avant-garde music, somewhere between apocalyptic folklore and psychedelic rock. Poetical songs about wine taken down rivers with crews of strong men, floating down throats with crews of sparkling spirits. Inspired by the vineyards that welcome the sun bringing character to grapes. Then a silent darkness, a timeless life inside oak barrels turn wine into flavoured blood for a toast between men and nature.. $7.00

Allseits - Hel ( Cyclic Law: 23rd Cycle)
ALLSEITS is the Solo project of the german instrumentalist Nina Kernicke known from her recent collaboration with German Drone pioneers Troum of which Nina has also been a recent live member of and her work under her other alias, ALLSIDES. The Album "Hel“ describes the way into the underworld, the listener is guided through various stages on the journey down to Hel, the Norse mythological term for hell and also for the goddess Hel who is said to keep watch over the underworld. The journey begins at the foot of Yggdrasil, the world tree, under which the entry to Hel is hidden. We then ride the river Gjöll, that flows along the human world before it runs down to Hel. Gjöll is spanned by the bridge Gjallarbrù which is guarded by Modgudr, a female giant, who decides who can pass the bridge. Leaving Gjallarbrú behind, the large dog Garm that sentinels the gate to Hel is waiting and at his side sits Fjalar, a rooster that will crow to signify the beginning of Ragnarok, the end of the world. After passing Fjalar Hel is finally reached. This allegoric tale is expressed diligently by Kernicke with the use of guitar, bass, drums and skillful sampling creating thick drony layers of deep and solemn emotions.Edition of 1000 copies In gatefold cardboard sleeve.6 Tracks.. $12.99

Amon - Nona ( Amplexus: Wax07)
"Nona" takes inspiration from a case of xenoglossy (the ability to speak in an unlearned and unheard foreign language, often associated with past-life recall, states of trance or hypnosis and mediumship) discovered in Great Britain around the early Thirties when a woman in state of trance expressed herself in a language which was recognized as ancient Egyptian.his voice from the past was called "Nona" or "The One Without a Name". The music has obviously much in common with Amon's previous releases. but according to the need of a change expressed by the composer. it introduces new elements and could be easily filed both under Dark Ambient and Avantgarde. The Amon sounds palette was never so rich in the past. Despite this fact the final result appears like it was stripped down to the essential but surprisingly retains its thickness. Anabasis/Gargrim the Liar - Two Worlds 2CD ( Waerloga: Waer016)
Two Worlds is the Waerloga debut of both Anabasis & Gargrim the Liar. Yet it is not right to call this release a split CD as each artist got one CD for their own "world" and release. Both CDs are packed in one Jewel case with great cover/back artwork made by none other than John Howe, famous for his work as the leading artist in Peter Jackson´s Lord of the Rings trilogy and other brilliant illustrations. The music (almost 120 minutes total) of both artists are dark fantasy inspired, cinematic and neoclassical.Inspired by a poem by the English poet Robert Browning, Anabasis' music paint a wonderful story filled with heroism, adventure, darkness and valor. Anabasis is not only inspired by the poem, he also "describe" (in music) personalities and events presented in themes in a Wagnarian way (leit-motives). You will find a hero-theme, traitor theme, stronghold-theme and so forth. They all show up disguised in different tempos and different meters. The music is highly cinematic and instrumental. Gargrim is inspired by Warhammer fantasy roleplay and other roleplaying games. Most of all one specific campaign which deals with a power struggle among four families and an almost Romeo and Juliet sort of love drama as backdrop. Don´t get that story wrong and confused with cheasy romantic crap as this story is filled with mysterious killings, endless debates in the council halls, dark deep intrigues on many levels and all takes place in the upper class among the nobility. The music on this wonderful CD bare hints of such as Ennio Morricone, Hans Zimmer, Klaus Badelt and other Hollywood composers, but with an own style of instrumental stunning dark fantasy music with lot´s of atmosphere and really good melodies. Anemone Tube - Death Over China ( Topheth Prophet: TP024)
One year after the highly acclaimed "Dream Landscape" CD Anemone Tube returns with the new concept album "Death over China".
No country in history has emerged as a major industrial power without creating a legacy of environmental damage that can take, if at all possible, decades to undo. China`s rise as an economic power has no clear parallel in history; thus, its pollution problem has shattered all precedent developments.
"Death over China" is a retaliation of nature against humankind. In the same moment it is a dedication to our untamed curiosity for the essence of death and our (inherent in our collective action) secret death wish. In China`s uncompromising economical and social development we see demonstrated, how we - even with the immolation of our health, environment and tradition - are the servants to material progress. Though we are aware of the approaching ecological disaster, we hazard the consequences. Sustainability is sacrificed on the altar of egoist quest for happiness. We consume, we destroy, we thrive, we conjure: "Deathly kingdom of desire, you sustain the life in me, Black death rise!"
Using field recordings, collected in Nanjing and Shanghai in 2007, Anemone Tube creates an unsettling yet intriguing, apocalyptic soundtrack with a sinister atmosphere and a depressive undertone - a unique blend of dark ambient, post industrial and power electronics in the tradition of European industrial music.
"Death over China" is the second part of "The Suicide Series", for which field recordings provide a conceptional basis. In a poetic way Anemone Tube combines analytical realism of the phenomenal world with buddhist psychology and nihilist rhetoric influenced by the works of Michael Haneke, Hayao Miyazaki, H.P. Lovecraft and Yukio Mishima. All music recorded between July 2007 and December 2009.
Mastered by James Plotkin. Definitely Anemone Tube's best and most mature album yet.. $13.33

Anemone Tube - Dream Landscape CDEP ( Silken Tofu: Stx.11)
‘Dream Landscape’ is the first official solo release by Anemone Tube after 9 years of silence. Originally founded in 1996 in Southern Germany, Anemone Tube has quite made a name for himself in the industrial/noise genre especially due to the psychogenic nature of his music.
On this new release Anemone Tube creates massive ambient/noise soundscapes. The sounds are pulsating, drowning and floating, tormenting and caressing – all culminating in a haunting sonic experience.
‘Dream Landscape’ is – together with the album ‘Death over China’ – the first part of the ‘Suicide Series’. To this field recordings made in China provide a conceptional basis.
‘Dream Landscape’ is a concept album of fierce malignant power. In a poetic way Anemone Tube combines analytical realism of the phenomenal world with buddhist psychology and nihilist rhetoric influenced by the visionary authors H.P. Lovecraft and Yukio Mishima. Absolutely top notch, 5 panel, fold out packaging... remarkably luxurious considering this is only a mini album. $12.66

Anenzephalia - Ephemeral Dawn ( Tesco: Tesco026)
Welcome re-issue of one of the absolute best, top 10, industrial records of all time. If you don't have this, your collection will never be complete. In fact, I don't think there's been a record as good as this since then...other than Genocide Organ 'Remember' and maybe IRM's 'Oedipus Dethroned'. Here's the review I wrote for Audio Drudge back in 1996: Despite that facty that the majority of this CD was recorded live ,it lacks much of the outward aggression that dominated their appearance at Festival Karlsruhe. But, even a more subdued Anenzephalia is some inexpilcably intense, managing to give rise to a variety of moods and affections, most prominent among them a rather sever feeling of nausea and sickening disease. Be sure, Ephemeral Dawn will have you squirming in your seat as infectious, power drunk loops, drones, buzzes, and low range, tension building oscillating electronics burrow and worm their way into pores and under the skin. Music this monotone and one dimensional rarely succeeds on it's subtletiess, so it's virtually a requirement that this be played as loud as humanly possible for maximum, ultra pulverizing effect. If, after doing that you still don't agree this is a massive release, come see me and I'll help you pull your head out of your ass. Apatheia - Lifethesis ( Cold Meat Industry: CMI204)
Gothenburg-based multi-instrumentalist and sound sculptor Linus Andersson is a busy man. Not only does he beat the drums for goth-Industrialist outfit Coph Nia, and work as a sound engineer and producer for everything from hair metal to contemporary art music, he also plays in a bunch of punk bands. No wonder his own neofolk project, Apatheia, seems to suffer from… well, apathy. Despite existing for about a decade, it has only produced a few releases, in highly limited editions on highly obscure labels. But as anyone who has heard any of this material knows, they have been well worth tracking down. Apatheia’s songs are typically well arranged and well played, with a strong sense of melody and sound. A song like “Rot in the Core” is worth the entire productions of some of the neofolk outfits out there. This situation couldn’t last. It would only be a matter of time before a label grabbed Apatheia and gave its music the audience it deserved. This label turned out to be renowned Swedish label Cold Meat Industry, and now they’re re-releasing Apatheia’s Lifethesis. This is what main man Andersson has to say for himself:“Originally released in an edition of 100 copies by Stridulum Recordings in 2003, Lifethesis consists of some of the earliest Apatheia material, recorded in Linköping between 2001 and 2002. The recording quality is rough and the performances are often spontaneous and not always perfect - and all for the better! I considered remastering the album, but quickly realized that it did more harm than good. To me, these old bedroom recordings have a certain quality to them that couldn't have been reproduced in a proper studio setting”.While his musical merits speak for themselves, there is more that makes Apatheia a bit unique in the world of neofolk. In a genre obsessed with symbols of power, conquest and control, Apatheia (the term denotes a state of detachment from the world) is all about retreating to one’s bedroom, to regroup and plot one’s revenge against everyone and everything. A bit like punk, only less noisy, less smelly and – let’s admit it – less silly. So, rejoice that the notoriously perfectionist studio rat Andersson has decided to let some of his old treasures out of the vault. If Lifethesis doesn’t make you eager to hear more of his releases, then you’re not really interested in this sort of music, are you?. $7.00

Apoptose - Nordland ( Tesco: Tesco041)
Time to travel north again: Apoptose's long out of print first album "Nordland" is back - even more beautiful than before. On its release in the year 2000 Nordland instantly became a cult record for lovers of orchestral ritualistic soundsculptures. Like ancient stone circles on barren landscapes the solemn music reminds of an age when the eternal cycle of growth and decay ruled human life. Finally this ambient classic is available on CD again. The album was carefully remastered to ensure that favourite tracks like "Abschied von der Sonne", "Nordlicht" or "Nidstang" sound better than ever. The bonus track "Svartisen" originating from same era as the Nordland recordings enhances the line-up. So even those who know Nordland for ages will discover some new facets of this gem. Additionally the designers revisited the whole artwork and created something completely new to compliment the timeless music. The CD is housed in a multiple-panel fold-out cover featuring a separate cardboard CD-sleeve.
Here's my original catalog description: "A new German project inspired by the ancient order of the megalitic graves. Flowing orchestral movements and somber droning soundscapes with a bleak, windswept feel reminiscent to some degree of Les Joyaux’s work on Les Petits Enfant. Rounded off with some nice ritual percussion. Haunting, introspective work that recalls a forgotten time.".. $15.77

The tracks express images of a desolate and dying world, far removed from the solitude of their beloved Northern woods. In autumn 2006, Apoptose joined forces with Japanese cyberpunk author Kenji Siratori to complete the cycle. On this album, Apoptose works for the first time with spoken word lyrics. Featured languages are Japanese, English and German. The tracks previously on compilations have been polished / remixed / re-recorded and renamed especially for the unique listening experience of "Schattenmadchen". A deviataion of sorts, but not disappointing…this is still very gloomy and forlorn with no shortage of hopelessness. There’s also a terrific flow and vitality to the textures and a nice incorporation of the various voices scattered throughout. Complex and unique. Kudos to Apoptose for not being stagnant. The CD is housed in an embossed 6-panel cardboard cover with an additional booklet. 7 tracks and a total of 62 minutes music. $16.33

Aqua Dorsa - Cloudlands ( Glacial Movements: GM006)
Aquadorsa is a new musical Italian ambient project formed by Enrico Coniglio and Oophoi.Their first work, “Cloudlands” is a perfect mix of glitch, classical and orchestral glacial ambient soundscape. Enrico Coniglio is aguitar player and composer and his research has increasingly focused on the relationship between 'music' and'landscape ', in an attempt to represent the contemporary crisis of the territory, the loss of nature and identity of places, and the unknown on the evolution of post-urban andpost-industrial territory.. $12.66

Arbeit - Zum Einem Neuen Licht ( Autumn Wind Productions: AWP017)
Synth-driven martial/orchestral stuff from this apparently French project, though very German when it comes to track titles and imagery. Obviously deals with WWII which is pronounced by war-themed samples and martial drum machine, and so on. Pretty formulaic. Compared to and influenced by the likes of Der Blutharsch, Death In June and Blood Axis.. $6.00

Architect - Uploaded Select Remix ( Hymen: Y794)
Many significant things have taken place in Daniel Myer's career since Consume Adapt Create was released: Architect was one of the headliners of Maschinenfest 2010 in Oberhausen/Germany besides Lingouf, Abs6, Iszoloscope, Niveau Zero and many others. He enthused audiences in the US and Europe while touring with Recoil, and also played in Russia on a solo tour. He made a highly regarded remix of Behind the Wheel by Depeche Mode and also three remixes for Recoil... this year was for sure the busiest one in Daniel's life.During the last thirteen years Architect has become a well-acknowledged and acclaimed project by world wide audiences and artists alike. This collection contains remixes by 14 international projects, well known and yet undetected, adding their interpretations of his previous works. Daniel's music was used as a trigger for a multiplicity of styles and sounds, ranging from melodic electronica , straight techhouse beats , up to complex broken rhythms and mighty dubstep / drum'n'bass blasts.. $8.00

Area Bombardment - In Hoc Signo Vinces ( Lichterklang: LK002)
A varied album the main parts of which are Martial but also containing Dark Ambient and Neoclassical style parts, comparable to such bands as Arditi, H.E.R.R., or early Blood Axis. The tracks on the album deal with such themes as Irish and European history, philosophy, war, nature, culture and disaffection from the modern world. It’s atmosphere is dark yet positive, igniting the flame of determination and unwillingness to succumb to the values of the modern world, harking back to the ancient values of honour and loyalty. Better composed and professional sounding than previous CDr releases, In Hoc is a definitive step forward for this young Irish project.. $8.00

Arktau Eos - Ai Ma Ra 2CD ( Aural Hypnox: AH11)
Ai Ma Ra is a monumental album containing over 105 minutes of experimental elemental and ambient music, original in the literal sense of the word. More than music, it is 'ethnography of the unknown' in action, providing vistas into rarely glimpsed corners of reality. Created primarily on acoustic instruments, organs and harmonium, carefully mastered on vintage tape, the sound is equally earthy as it is otherworldly – a contradiction in terms maybe, but then Ai Ma Ra is not classified easily in any other respect either. It is a record in which to immerse one’s self over time, containing more than two years' worth of strange experiences and sensations distilled into a curious, potent elixir, the use of which may in its truest sense be determined only by the individual listener. Ai Ma Ra, pressed in 1.000 copies, comes in a sturdy, deep green cardboard box stamped with the mark of Arktau Eos. Contained within is an 8-page booklet bound in tête-bêche format on high quality paper, a small talismanic print, and two CDs.. $18.75

Arktau Eos - Mirrorion ( Aural Hypnox: AH06)
Presented in seventeen chapters that can be approached as singular gateways or a slowly unfolding journey of epic proportions, the debut album of Arktau Eos is a challenging, complex work. Born of intense private musico-magical sessions held in places abandoned by man and further refined in the temple-laboratory of the duo, it is the distillation of seven arduous months of work. As the title suggests, 'Mirrorion' is the music of stellar light thrown down from the Heaven's zenith and its eldritch reflections in the depths below, uniting atavistic elemental noise with serene passages of crystalline, spectral ambience. Ultimately, 'Mirrorion' seeks to surpass such earthly definitions in favour of a non-dual vision of reality, hopefully transforming the listener in the process. For this recording Arktau Eos have favoured an organic approach with majority of instrumentation being of acoustic variety, including the unearthly choral of the kang-lings, piercings blasts of windbones, accelerating steel-plate rolls, singing bowl and various kinds of stringed instruments. To simplify…another exercise in mind bending sonics courtesy of the great Aural Hypnox, purveyors of some of the absolute finest exploratory, spectral ambience known to man kind. Less cosmic than other AH releases, Arktau Eos is more grounded in the earthly rituals, drawing comparisons to the great Nekrophile cassettes of the mid ’80s (particularly Zero Kama) . I’m currently re-reading H.P. Lovecraft’s ’At the Mountains of Madness’ and I can’t think of a better soundtrack. Eerie, haunting, wondrous material of the highest order. A must for fans of Wolfskin and all things of that nature. Comes in an six-panel, A5 booklet. Limited to 1000 copies.. $13.50

Armon Kuili - S/T CDEP ( Totuuden Sarvi Levyt: Totuu01)
The first release from Totuuden Sarvi Levyt is a piece of Finnish art destined to remain in the minds of those who hear it. The debut mini-album by Armon Kuilu is a funereal musical journey, two long progressive compositions built out mostly of classical piano, strings, orchestral drums, singing, prayers and invocations in male and female voices. More of a gothic work than a total assault on the senses, yet one must remember that the word gothic is often abused in connotation with just a melancholic form of new age entertainment music but here the soundscapes bring to mind images of forlorn cemetaries, initiatory cults, bloodletting, woodlands and altered states of consciousness. At times the melodies of chamber music break out into squeals, groans and crackling which haunt the space and resonate with the Finnish poetry, that most of the time reminds one of a satanic ceremony. Some passages sound familiar to the listeners of European avantgarde and progressive music such as Actus, Art Zoyd and releases from the label Athanor. Post-industrial fans should also listen to this work but remember that this is not your generic so-called occult album with the usual Crowley spoken parts. Instead this is a deeply personal work with challenging classical and sometimes jazz or progressive melodies composed by the master behind the project and performed by real musicians with authentic instruments and also utilizing real actors for the various voices and spoken parts. Believe me, you will hear the difference. The mini-album comes in a black & white sleeve with a full color 8-page art booklet (size 7x7"), built from nature-mystical imagery shot on infrared film. Recommended!!. $7.00

Arnica - Numancia mCD ( Ahnstern: Ahnstern47)
Numancia was a small castro (name in Sapnish for celtiberian village). The inhabitants from Numancia fought against the Roman Empire for more than twenty years. It was 133 B.C. Rome sent their best military man called Escipion to create a siege and destroy Numancia so they could control the entire peninsula. However, when the Romans entered the village, the survivors decided to kill their own children, set their own belongings on fire to end up with their own lives. If the Empire controlled Celtiberia they could not control their people. Musically Numancia is a invigorating trip from the magnificence of the village to the final decision of choose to die instead of being conquered. Solid drums and ritual elements are mixed with Heathen tunes the recognizable Ur-Folk sound. All texts are written and sung in Spanish and in the ancient Celtiberian language. After this release to homage our ancestors, Àrnica will depart back to the vast mountains of the Pyrenees. $7.00

Artefactum - Foxgloves & Bluebells ( Old Europa Café: OECD143)
Being one of the very few representatives of what might be labelled as feminine ambient music, Artefactum remains the embodiment of unique characteristics: deep and warm ambient intertwined with sounds of nature, ritual bells, remote drumming and sensual vocals. In the case of Artefactum you simply can’t mistake the music for any other artist’s work. Merissa d’Erlette’s new opus "Foxgloves & Bluebells" has at last taken its final shape after five long years since the release of "Rosarium Hermeticum" – her last full-length album. The music is richer and more varied than anything else she has ever made – while still within the borders of ambient, the release contains at the same time a collection of beautiful songs inspired by old poetry and mysterious folklore. With wonderful guest appearances from neo-medieval The Soil Bleeds Black, British folk singer Andrew King (Duo Noir/Sol Invictus) and neo- classical Dawn & Dusk Entwined, "Foxgloves & Bluebells" is a must-have release for anyone into esoteric post-industrial music.. $5.00

Atomine Elektrine - Archimetrical Universe ( Eternal Pride: EPP015)
Re-issue/remixed version of 1996's Archimetrical Universe (Yantra Atmopheres) + bonus tracks from extra limited CDr boxed version of the album Nebulous. Archimetrical Universe showcases Peter Andersson (Raison d'Etre, Stratvm Terror) dissection of the sky, a Caesarean section that births massive, geometrically perfect sonic diversions, all spheres and angles, burnished metal dreams and pristine sonic caresses that reconfigure sound into smooth surfaces. To counterbalance the exactness of the sonic development, light rhythms emerge, huge slabs of disrupting tones puncture, the scattered remnants of all of Peter’s projects utilized in the creation of the music here. Everything seems to be in perpetual motion, evolving, revolving, reinvented at the mercy of Peter’s deft hands and devious whim. The clarity of production and meticulous restructuring of the known (space, stars, planets) with the unknown (space...stars...planets...) only heightens the journey upon which he guides us, an alluring venture into the cavernous realm of space...but not a space most of us would imagine. Whether he is sonically scrubbing the architecture, or just mesmerizing us with another sound sculpture at the edge of forever, Archimetrical Universe is, quite possibly, one of Peter’s finest releases, which says a lot because his sonic portfolio runneth over with intoxicating, mind-altering sound manipulations that inspire one’s imagination with conflicting emotional responses (sorrow, desolation, awe, wonder) at all times.. $7.00

Two years after the highly acclaimed "Nuklearchetyp" album the mighty Atomtrakt are finally back with a new release entitled "Sperrstelle Nordost". The atmosphere of "Sperrstelle Nordost" is threatening and cold. It leads the listener back to times of war and truly hits like an atomic bomb. "Sperrstelle Nordost" deals with the situation of Switzerland in the 2nd world war / cold war - "Sperrstell Nordost" is an area in Switzerland which was of national importance for the entire country during times of war. The lyrics deal with fears, death, decay and ambiguity. The album features a superb video clip for 'Trauermarsch'. 6-panel digipak. File next to Kreuzweg Ost or Triarii.. $8.00

Atrabilis Sunrise - Pillgrimage ( Raubbau: Raub009)
Atrabilis Sunrise is the ongoing project of sound manipulator / destroyer Padre P.C., who also happens to be the tyranic boss of P.C.M. Few years ago our beloved Padre was producing dark industrial releases under the name "Catharsis". Some would try to categorize Atrabilis Sunrise as bizarre, disturbing & unsettling electronica, from quietness to violent insanity, from ethereal atmospheres to spasms of pure psychotic noise. Paranoid, demented voices, abusive fried circuitry, lonely music box (obviously injured) melodies, twisted pop sensibilities, confusing atmospheres, distorted alien pathology, corroded beauty, brittle fragility & tortured doom... Atrabilis Sunrise is steeped in images of a starkly contrasting world, capturing sounds of madness and glorious insanity. An utterly weird, excruciatingly harrowing musical experience.. $8.00

Atrium Carceri - Phrenitis ( Cold Meat Industry: CMI203)
'Phrenitis' takes the listener to a twisted place where the walls between worlds are razed. The ruinous cities of wars long past, where time itself is but a prisoner and the warlords roaming their purgatorial halls are free to destroy the very foundations of the natural order.'Phrenitis' is the 6th album of Atrium Carceri and is yet another step of the ever increasing Atrium Carceri wake up call. Simon Heath shows himself and the world, yet again, that no man is ever truly the master of their art unless they strive to evolve with it. The soundscapes he has created bypass the conscious mind, taking the listener deep into his pristine nightmare. The evolution of sound is spot-on and sets Atrium Carceri apart from other lazy dark ambient acts by being a truly diverse piece, replete with details upon details to make the illusion complete, and haunting compositions to make the mind yearn.. $14.33

Atrium Carceri - Seishinbyouin ( Cold Meat Industry: CMI133)
Re-issue! Seishinbyouin is the second album from Atrium Carceri, and drags the listener on a violent journey through haunted mental asylums, ripe with the cries of the lost and the damned. Rotting jailcells, past insanity and the crumbling domes of the other side are a few of the many eerily twisted images that this evocative music compels. There is a constant dark majesty thatforcefully propels the message of inevitability: The colorful illusion people spend most of their lives in is fragile as a rose petal, and just as easily shattered in Seishinbyouin. With brilliant use of the full spectrumof dystopia, this will surely leave no one unscathed. The album is filled with dark ambient soundscapes, haunting symphonic intensities and engulfing atmospheres that let you get inside the twisted psyche of the total other. Aural Holograms - Vol. I ( Aural Hypnox: AH08)
Not so much a band, as a concept, this is the very first part of the Aural Holograms series on Finland’s great Aural Hynpox label. Not quite so dynamic or sonically far reaching as some of the other works released…more minimal, with grim, shadowy textures floating on probing, hypnotic wavelengths.Comes in six-panel hand finished cardboard booklet, in an edition of 1000 copies.. $13.50
