Lackthrow - Release 2CDr ( Existest: EE15)
Lackthrow is a name most unknown to noise fans of today but Andrew Powell has been active and creating noise under several different guises – twit/ch, Internal Empty, A Hymn For Her – since 1990. The project has been alive and hyperactive for many years and time has seen it take many forms from experimental surrealism, or harsh Masonna-influenced cut up noise, to power electronics and back again. Even spanning into weird ambience, synth-pop and cybergrind influences. With Lackthrow’s Release, Existence Establishment strives to present a cohesive collection of works from this underrated artist re-releasing a wealth of material, with the bulk of it having never formally seen the light of day before. Release is a 2 disc set spanning the outer reaches of sound, emotional noise, temper tantrums on tape, carefully edited blasts of noise, unadulterated improvisations, and enigmatic avant garde outings which are evidence of the spasms of an artist always on the edge yet never in the limelight and always searching for something unknown. Featuring material recorded between 1997 and 2009. Double CDR with printed artwork directly on disc, lmtd to 50 copies. Two double sided 11×17″ fold-out posters with lyrics and tracklisting full-color pro-printed, packaged in a piece of tar-infused copper with disc protectors and full-color artwork.. $10.00

Lacus Somniorum - Tideshaper ( Cyclic Law: 22ndCycle)
Splendid collaborative work between Gustaf Hildebrand and Amanda Votta, Lacus Somniorum emerged as a mutual desire to convey a suggestive concept of what lies hidden and unseen by the eyes of modern civilization--beneath the waves in murky chasms, or perhaps in places not anchored within our concept of reality. Airy flutes and choirs hover above sometimes distant, rumbling sound textures, hinting of corroded machinery and unseen presences but also emphasizing a sense of serenity and peace of mind. The underlying concept is not fear of the unknown, but rather of a hidden beauty within those places where none of us will ever venture.Edition of 1000 copies In fold out gatefold cardboard sleeve.. $12.99

Lagowski - Lagowski Presents Legion- False Dawn 2CD ( Zoharum: Zohar033-2)
Legion came as a surprising side-project in comparison to the Andrew Lagowski's (S.E.T.I.) regular tracks released up to that date. "False Dawn" was an excellent venture into the world of spacey dark ambient / electronica which might have served as a complement to the dense world of techno on Lagowski's early vinyl releases. 20 years on, this dusty classic has gained a well deserved reissue. It has been expanded to include 7 rare / unreleased bonus tracks and has been adorned with an additional part entitled "False Dawn Revisited". The latter contains remixes of the three original tracks by Geomatic, Zenial and Maciek Szymczuk. Presented as a 2CD edition in a luxurious 6-panel digipak.. $15.66

Land:Fire - Shortwave Transmission ( Power & Steel: PAS25)
Coming back with an all new album after more than 5 years the alter ego of Herbst9 delivers another outstanding soundtrack about radiological warfare and it's debris during the last century. SWT is like a massive energy spike with a surrounding maelstrom of machine noises, rhythms, interferences and electromagnetic waves. The complex arrangement of technical sounds creates a deadly atmosphere of fallout and devastated landscapes with an apocalyptic aura reflected by dissonant harmonies and deep shimmering ambient scapes. Presented in a 6 panel digipak. Mastered by Andreas Wahnmann (First Law). $13.77

Larvae - Exit Strategy ( Adnoiseam: ADN160)
Larvae's fourth album is a highly introspect and mesmerizing work which takes a step forward from the more electronic trilogy formed by "Fashion Victim", "Dead Weight" and "Loss Leader". A much more compact effort, devoid of any vocals, guest appearance or remix, it is a highly introvert work whose focus set on emotions, memories and expectations. Guitars are the main inhabitants of the solemn, reclusive landscape pictured on the album's cover, for gone are the ways when Larvae was sharing stage with Scorn and unleashing body-wrenching basses and low frequency drones. An intense collection during which Larvae focuses on its most emotional and sincere side, here is a necessary album for introvert nights and profound, closed-eyes listening.. $11.00

Law-Rah Collective, The - Field of View ( Ant-Zen: Act282)
By now it should be common knowledge that no two albums by our Dutch friends of The [Law-Rah] collective are alike - their output is a constant journey of discovery. 'Field of View', the eighth full-length CD in their discography, is no exception. For the first time the collective wrote and produced the music as a trio: Bauke van der Wal - the original initiator of the project - is joined by Hiekelien van den Herik (member of the collective on the albums '1953' and '...as it is...') as well as Martijn Pieck (a.o. 'Solitaire', 'Inspiration', '[ans]werk' and the soundtrack of the documentary 'Verzet in Indië'). This collaboration resulted in an album which has the typical [Law-rah] signature: massive deep drones and minimalistic sound collages are accompanied by minimal sequences and (un)steady beats that blend into the alienating soundscapes or set the pace for memorably haunting, atmospheric melodies. in the vocal department Hiekelien proves herself to be an amazing singer, alternating between spoken word recitations as known from earlier [Law-rah] albums and one-of-a-kind songs. 'Field of View' delivers a new chapter in the history of this prolific project's output - a fascinating insight into different perspectives, exhibited in a surprising and captivating album. the whole view we have of things, how we observe, what we see ... what is reality?... is reality really what we see?. $13.99

Law-Rah Collective, The - Solitaire ( Raubbau: Raub008)
Like on the 2008 Ant-Zen album 'Inspiration', the duo Martijn Pieck and Bauke Van Der Wal upped the ante with the collective's 7th full release. Sound wise they return to the collective's origins: a combination of ambient structures and deep drones with sudden breaks in the sound spectrum. 'Solitaire's threatening and oppressive mood will leave you in a state and in a place where you haven't been before. A new reality which is more then the sum of its parts.. $6.00

LCHM - Terra Australis Incognita ( Laesencia: LER003)
Debut album from LCHM, inspired by the short stories of Jorn Riel, a Danish writer who lived for 16 years in the most isolated and impervious areas of Greenland in the early 20th Century, at close quarters with the hunters who originally lived there. With this work, LCHM has tried to recreate, by means of sound, the lights and shadows of these great and unknown men who lived extraordinary experiences by relying on their own forces alone, on their adaptability and on their will to survive in an age when you didn't have much to begin with. LCHM was born out of a passion for audial research, the study of human psychology, and ispirations drawn from several esoteric practices. Deep and wide ambient and atmospheric sounds, bright and obscure, unique and full of nuances. LCHM conceives and records all of its material using sounds captured in nature, in unusual places, or created using other instruments. Digipak.. $4.00

L'Effet C'est Moi - Il Sole a Messanotte ( Rage in Eden: Rage90)
Third album from Italy's L'Effet C'Est Moi, who return to Rage in Eden 5 years after their debut, "Tomber En Héros". Stylistically, things have changed and L'Effet has matured musically in every sense of the word; less derivative of other neo-classical acts, and now moving in their own direction. More structured perhaps, definitely more musical, at times moody and other times grandiose. Hard to make a comparison here, though Rage in Eden mentioned Blood Axis, which I wouldn't entirely argue with.. $14.33

Legionarii - Europa Rex ( Rage in Eden: Rage88)
Debut album from this Polish project presenting martial/neo-classical in it's purest form - staunch brass and stirring percussion augmented by samples and ominous atmospherics. Direct references to Toroidh and Arditi to be sure. The message of "Europe Rex" is primarily a defense of identity and spiritual rebirth of Europe. There is no compromise, the message is clear and legible, so take that for what it's worth.. $14.33

Legionarii - Iron Legion ( Rage in Eden: Rage95)
Here's the press blurb for this disc, so you can absorb the information and apply that knowledge to some forcefully arranged neo-classical and strong military orchestrations, and have a good idea of what to expect; "Legionarii continues to forge the iron spirit of today's world! "Iron Legion" now leads you into the modern battlefield, created especially for you, to provide an ultimate spirit of war using only your speakers. Embrace a vision of a thousands of tanks rolling across the vast battlefield, crossing the minefields, constantly bombarded by heavy artillery; Behind them, the supporting units of infantry are marching forward, with the strength of an animal and the mind of a machine, with no option for retreat or surrender. The Iron Legion of Europe is rising - and there is no other way than the way of victory!" A must for fans of Triarii (and not just because there's double "ii"s), Toroidh, etc etc.. $14.33

Les Colonnes de L'Eternite - A Soldier of Lifeforce ( Lichterklang: LK011)
Les Colonnes De L'Éternité were founded in 2009, when Vilkas found new forms of expression in the Martial Industrial genre after initial musical experiences in the Black Metal scene. "Soldier Of A Lifeforce" is his first step into public where powerful drumming corresponds with melancholic melodies, controversial samples, and muliple layered passages, influenced by neoclassical orchestrations and choirs. Concept-wise "Soldier Of A Lifeforce" deals with the clash of cultures in a global world, where the loss of cultural identitiy is increasing day by day. Les Colonnes De L'Éternité stand in the tradition of bands such as Toroidh or Karjalan Sissit, but with their own unique musical brand. Digipak.. $12.66

Lethal Dose 50 - 21st Century Awakenings ( Nuit Et Brouillard: NBCD06)

First official CD release from this Belgian outfit will appeal to those fond of the 70s and 80s space electronic sound (ie, Tangerine Dream, Nocturnal Emissions), as well as newer purveyors, most notably First Law and Bad Sector. Clear, flowing, cosmic drones and penetrating tones with a hypnotic, drugged feel, sometimes interspersed with the occasional rhythm. Nothing warm and milky here though, more cold and sterile
but, I mean that in the most positive sense. Housed in an original A5 size silk-screened fold-out cover.. $4.00

Letum - Broken ( Cold Meat Industry: CMI159)
Personal frustration has always been one of the most creative source of inspiration for artists, no matter what genre or art. The second musical offering from Mattias Henrikssons one-man project Letum shows no difference. From the calm and soft darkambient debut CD ''The Entrance to Salvation'' (CMI.95 - 2001), we found the new CD to be far from salvation! - the choral sounds are still there and the deep and darker sounds, mixed together with more harsh industrial ambiental elements. The whole album has a beautiful atmosphere of a down dirty depressive feeling of hopelessness and despair. Some sounds are utterly beautiful, some plain mad, some martial powerful and some gritty industrial, all together another very enjoyable travel into the Broken wasteland, a personal hell, guided by Letum.. $12.00

Linekraft - Bouryoku Kikai ( Black Plagve: Infect07)
Industrial music could always use more junk metal abuse as far I'm concerned, so it's only logical that Japan's Linekraft would wind up on Black Plague for their third full length release. 5 extended tracks of resounding, metal percussion and corrosive frequencies, full of large scale, resonating clangs, snippets of samples, and a healthy heap of frying distortion and crushing, mechanized mayhem. Pure industrial sounds certain to appeal to Dissecting Table, Grim, and even Cazzo Dio for those that remember the early days of Black Plague. In 6 panel digipak, lmtd 400 copies.. $10.00

Liyr - Sub Terra Inferis ( Rage in Eden: Rage81)

Second album from Liyr after their well received debut - another take on bombastic neo-classical, which Liyr certainly does well, but they manage to distinguish themselves by operating at somewhat of a frantic pace, and adding solid dose of dark, apocalyptic noise to the heavy orchestrations. Luftwaffe - Trephanus Uhr ( Lichterklang: LK014)
Reissue of Luftwaffe's 2004 album, featuring Boyd Rice (NON), Douglas P. (Death In June), and Richard Leviathan (Ostara). "Luftwaffe create effective industrial atmospheres through swathes of harsh electronic noise interspersed with sample and dialogue and declamated lyrics. The constant martial rhythms and occassional orchestral effects ensure easy comparisons with NON's epochal live recording "In The Shadow of the Sword". Several tracks adopt a harsher outlook... A folk based approach incorporates gentle flute but the vocals remain rooted in a masculine and stern manner. Ostara's Richard Leviathan delivers esotericism over acoustic guitar and spirited trumpet score... Douglas P.'s refined tones are set against a backdrop of acoustic guitars and kettle drums recalling early Death In June. Both tracks are free of the industrial posturing proving the age old adage: less is more" (Compulsion). Digipak.. $12.00

Lull - Like A Slow River ( Glacial Movements: GM004)
After a long period of silence, Glacial Movements Records is glad to announce the return of one the most important representatives of ambient isolationist music ever: the wonderful English artist Mick J. Harris aka LULL (Scorn, Painkiller, Napalm Death).Unquestionable genius of the last century's second half European music and point of reference about the rising isolationist aesthetics, being on the same wavelength as post-rock last scenaries. "Like a Slow River" it's a work characterized by sharp and minimal atmospheres but also dark, cold and huge such as big bodies of ice which slowly move carried by an endless river. The five compositions of "Like a Slow River" reach the high expectations of the previous works such as "Cold Summer", "Continue" and the "Murder Ballads" trilogy with Martin Bates. With no doubt, this is the coldest and darkest work ever composed by this pioneer of industrial-ambient music. You all will be led to the oblivion of your existence....the freezing darkness of these glacial night is going to come down on your bodies and minds....you'll fall in your deepest sleep with the far echo of glacial runnings........the way to eternity is in front of you...... $11.00

Lull/Beta Cloud/Andrew Liles - Circadian Rhythm Disturbance Reconfigured ( Cold Spring: CSR139CD)
From England to the United States and back again... it all started as a simple drone project between LULL (aka Mick Harris of Scorn, ex-Napalm Death) and BETA CLOUD (aka Carl Pace), based on the concept of how insomnia can effect your thought patterns. Billows of powerful bass drones set to indistinct flourishes of temporary insanity. The original track is there, but also included is a fierce remix track by legendary sound artist Andrew Liles (NURSE WITH WOUND). Fans of Lull and Beta Cloud will really sink their teeth into this one; what Liles has created here is not a simple remix but a raging, deconstruction as only he can do. Originally released as a limited 3" CD in 2008, now proudly presented in a deluxe digipak edition with stunning new artwork. A captivating listen for dark ambient and harsh noise fans alike.. $12.00

Lustmord - Carbon Core ( Ant-Zen: Act300)
Legendary sound artist Lustmord (Brian Williams) has created a sound that created and epitomizes the sub-genre of dark ambient. Williams began working under that name in 1980, and since then his dark sound sculptures have been highly influential not only in music genres such as ambient and industrial, but also in film and games. Lustmord's sound investigations are exquisitely crafted manifestations of horror that balance sublime sound references with the body's natural queasiness about ultra-low frequencies. Lustmord has previously extracted the eeriness from field recordings made in crypts, caves, and slaughterhouses, and combined it with occasional ritualistic incantations and the haunting wail of Tibetan horns. His seamless treatments of acoustic phenomena encased in digitally expanded bass rumbles have the darkly ambient quality of nightmares that take you to the blackest of abysses. 'Carbon/Core' is the fully developed expansion of acoustical ideas originating as soundtrack for the happy pencil website (www.happypencil.com). This soundtrack is another installment of the finely polished dramatic sound design of Lustmord's works, lurking in the shadows for a while and then building to attention-grabbing peaks. This album features five spacious tracks of strong dissonant string arrangements with abyssal growling, beautiful and ambient, with a dark ages kind of feel. Livid soundscapes digging deep into the listener's mind to create pictures of wonderful, terrible tortures from various points in history and beyond.. $14.33

Lustmord - The Place Where the Black Stars Hang ( Ant-Zen: Act301)
While the earlier Lustmord album 'Heresy' gave birth to the dark ambient genre, it is 'The Place Where the Black Stars Hang' that defines it. It's a work regularly cited by critics, audiences and musicians as being among the very best and most influential albums of its decade. 'Black Stars' was remastered in 2006 and it is that version that is represented here. The differences are subtle yet powerful, giving the album a more nuanced feeling of space and detail than ever before. Oft imitated, but never equaled, Lustmord: the power of sound.. $14.33
