La Breiche - Le Mal Des Ardents CD ( Cold Spring: CSR224CD)
La Breiche (“the witch”) features two well-known musicians: Arexis and Lafforgue of Stille Volk – a band best known since 1994 as one of the pioneers of Pagan Folk in Europe – and of Pagan Black French band Sus Scrofa.
“Le Mal Des Ardents” (“Holy Fire”) is a concept album about fears, terrors, about the balance between folklore and reason, myth and common sense, light and darkness, past and present, modernity and archaism. The album marries minimalism, purity, a fine approach and ancient instruments: traditional music (hurdy gurdy, shawm, polyphonies, percussion, gongs); the gloom of oppressive dark ambient; the slow pace of ritual music, wavering between modernity and archaism. Voices rise towards beauty, lifting it away from some occult mud. Holy Fire takes us back to a forgotten world – a primal, ancient, wild and free world, pervaded by secret dances of sorcerers’, unfathomable forests, remote and lifeless places.6-panel digipak.. $12.67

Lackthrow - Release 2CDr ( Existest: EE15)
Lackthrow is a name most unknown to noise fans of today but Andrew Powell has been active and creating noise under several different guises – twit/ch, Internal Empty, A Hymn For Her – since 1990. The project has been alive and hyperactive for many years and time has seen it take many forms from experimental surrealism, or harsh Masonna-influenced cut up noise, to power electronics and back again. Even spanning into weird ambience, synth-pop and cybergrind influences.
With Lackthrow’s Release, Existence Establishment strives to present a cohesive collection of works from this underrated artist re-releasing a wealth of material, with the bulk of it having never formally seen the light of day before. Release is a 2 disc set spanning the outer reaches of sound, emotional noise, temper tantrums on tape, carefully edited blasts of noise, unadulterated improvisations, and enigmatic avant garde outings which are evidence of the spasms of an artist always on the edge yet never in the limelight and always searching for something unknown. Featuring material recorded between 1997 and 2009.
Double CDR with printed artwork directly on disc, lmtd to 50 copies. Two double sided 11×17″ fold-out posters with lyrics and tracklisting full-color pro-printed, packaged in a piece of tar-infused copper with disc protectors and full-color artwork.. $8.00

Land:Fire - Incandescent Sonic Lodge ( LOKI: PAS36)
Re-edition of two limited CD-Rs from 2006/07 that were available on the band´s own label SWT. This edition includes the maxi CD “Incandescent” and the “Live At Sonic Lodge” CD, both originally released in very small numbers only. Now available again in a remastered and polished form. A purging, extreme listening experience that’ll leave you feeling as though you’ve just gone over an abandoned area of sonic assaults and monstrous frequency manipulation. ‘Incadescent Sonic Lodge’ is resoundingly bleak and characterized by biting distortion rhythm, with noise-oscillators and disfigured vocal samples floundering around the mix at every turn. This is another claustrophobic soundtrack of Land:Fire with dark atmospheres and fear loaded electronics with deep ambient soundscapes under it´s sonic surface.. $8.00

Last Dominion Lost - Snowdrops From A Curate's Garden CD ( Epicurean: Cure8CD)
CD version of an LP released back in 2015. "Snowdrops from a Curate's Garden” is a 2011 live recording of industrial veterans Last Dominion Lost with all exclusive, unreleased tracks. Active since 1992, Last Dominion Lost feature Jon Evans, John Murphy (Shining Vril, Krank, Ex-SPK/Whitehouse/Current 93) and Julian Percy. Through their pedigree, Last Dominion Lost are considered to justifiably carry the legacy of the legend that is SPK - and that’s also by their sound, as they stand for an undiluted brand of industrial music, combining shuddering analogue sounds, clanging metal rhythms and feedback with ritual percussion & chants. On “Snowdrops from a Curate's Garden” the main focus lies on the hypnotic, ritual and mental aspects of music, with an omnipresent metallic percussive backbone. It comes as no surprise to find the group reveling in dark subject matter like psychopathology, debasement and religious deviation, to which they manage to deliver an authentic soundtrack.
This live album has been recorded at Kalyug Festival, Berlin in 2011 and is perfectly mastered by James Plotkin, providing the album a sharp, forceful & modern sound. Thus “Snowdrops from a Curate's Garden” can be considered the missing link between the grainy, demo-type 1990s recordings that became “The Tyranny of Distance” (Tesco, 2004) and the enthusiastically received “Towers Of Silence” album (The Epicurean / silken tofu, 2014), which displayed a very contemporary, indicatory approach at that classic industrial sound.. $13.77

Law-Rah Collective, The - Field of View ( Ant-Zen: Act282)
By now it should be common knowledge that no two albums by our Dutch friends of The [Law-Rah] collective are alike - their output is a constant journey of discovery. 'Field of View', the eighth full-length CD in their discography, is no exception. For the first time the collective wrote and produced the music as a trio: Bauke van der Wal - the original initiator of the project - is joined by Hiekelien van den Herik (member of the collective on the albums '1953' and '...as it is...') as well as Martijn Pieck (a.o. 'Solitaire', 'Inspiration', '[ans]werk' and the soundtrack of the documentary 'Verzet in Indië').
This collaboration resulted in an album which has the typical [Law-rah] signature: massive deep drones and minimalistic sound collages are accompanied by minimal sequences and (un)steady beats that blend into the alienating soundscapes or set the pace for memorably haunting, atmospheric melodies. in the vocal department Hiekelien proves herself to be an amazing singer, alternating between spoken word recitations as known from earlier [Law-rah] albums and one-of-a-kind songs.
'Field of View' delivers a new chapter in the history of this prolific project's output - a fascinating insight into different perspectives, exhibited in a surprising and captivating album. the whole view we have of things, how we observe, what we see ... what is reality?... is reality really what we see?. $13.99

Le Cose Bianche - Born CD ( Old Europa Café: OECD209)
BORN closes a hypothetical trilogy opened with "Aesthetics Of A Good Pornographer" (where the main theme was the prostitution industry) which was followed by "Pornography Should not be an illusion" (where the attention was focused on the mortification of pornography whenever it rises to art and its consumers) and now this, where the main theme revolves around the pornographic media, the use made of it, but it would be more correct to say: the use they make of us and around the private and intimate relationship that each has with that category. Is the mind that controls the body? Or is the body that controls the mind? Nobody knows.
Recorded with the collaboration of teachers, first, and friends, now, including:Maurizio Bianchi (MB) / Andrea Chiaravalli (Iugula-Thor) / Richard Ramirez (Black Leather Jesus) / Eraldo Bernocchi (Sigillum S) / Paolo Bandera (Sigillum S / Sshe Retina Stimulants) / Marco Deplano (Wertham / Caligula031) / Emidio Clementi (Massimo Volume)...
BORN retains all analogic fidelity and all extremism that for 30 years characterized this kind of muzak together with the love for the tradition of such sounds.Sounds that never died despite the many agonies suffered during these years.. $10.99

L'Effet C'est Moi - En Guerre avec Amour CD ( Old Europa Café: OECD212)
The 5th L'Effet C'est Moi album, "En Guerre avec Amour" composed by Emanuele Buresta is characterized by a different sound from all previous ones.
The bombastic martial tunes and modern classical compositions are mixed here with elegant and symphonic elements, dark ambient sounds, darkwave reminiscences and synth-pop music. The concept inspired by the epic theme of Love and War is revisited in a personal and spiritual approach in which spirits of romance and militarism that share the same space are combined in different ways: romance through militarism, romance opposed to the background of militarism. There's no love without war, there's no war without love!
The poetical lyrics are sung by Valentina Castellani, evocative and talented voice of Der Feuerkreiner.
The artwork is created by Niba, Italian sculptress representing the lovers at a moment of great emotion, a sublime dimension of time eternalized, a subtle and refined eroticism in which the male figure contemplates the face of the woman he loves, countered with an equal intensity. $13.00

Legionarii - Disciples of the State ( Rage in Eden: Rage100)
With powerful hammering of industrial drums, with epic and monumental choirs that roll down on listener like a mountain, the release provides a total immersion in a tidal wave of militaristic Power, a feeling of creation from destruction, an Order out of War, following the previous established, dark and glorious militant cult of Legionarii. Only this time, the evolution has gone a different but the right way, the music has taken a great dose of grandiosity, orchestrality and overall epicness and awe - because of all that, this monumental release will certainly present one of the Titans in the scene of martial industrial. Aside from this basis in form of a fictional story, the release contains hidden references to the real world of today, offering yet another, parallel message inside of it, beyond the fictional world described. But the most important thing is that the listener's imagination should not stop on this given description. The release is also structured in a way that provides space for individual, subjective projection by listener's own psychic world of Archetypes. Symbolism and words are enough to provoke the question: where are the borders of facts and fiction? Join this epic and monumental journey brought to you by Legionarii, the one and only act that never dissapoints and is again here to lead you into the epic realm of Strength, Power and Order.. $12.67

Legionarii - Iron Legion ( Rage in Eden: Rage95)
Here's the press blurb for this disc, so you can absorb the information and apply that knowledge to some forcefully arranged neo-classical and strong military orchestrations, and have a good idea of what to expect; "Legionarii continues to forge the iron spirit of today's world! "Iron Legion" now leads you into the modern battlefield, created especially for you, to provide an ultimate spirit of war using only your speakers. Embrace a vision of a thousands of tanks rolling across the vast battlefield, crossing the minefields, constantly bombarded by heavy artillery; Behind them, the supporting units of infantry are marching forward, with the strength of an animal and the mind of a machine, with no option for retreat or surrender. The Iron Legion of Europe is rising - and there is no other way than the way of victory!" A must for fans of Triarii (and not just because there's double "ii"s), Toroidh, etc etc.. $10.67

Legion of Andromeda - Iron Scorn CD ( Crucial Blast: UA022)
Diabolical in its minimalist approach, unleashing a grinding nightmare of violent, industrial doom/death rooted in a barbaric simplicity, moving in endlessly cyclical percussive patterns, LEGION OF ANDROMEDA‘s Iron Scorn wormed its way deep into the Crucial Blast depot upon first hearing it. The band has hacked out a uniquely vicious sound, and shares as much disgusting DNA with the grinding industrial metal of bands like Dead World, Skin Chamber and Streetcleaner-era Godflesh as it does with the putrescent doom/death of Autopsy, Cianide and Asphyx, brilliantly fusing the devastating down-tuned chug of the latter to the repetitive, belt-driven clangor of the former, each monstrous track churning through the black cosmos like a mechanical warbeast comprised of gnashing teeth and interlocking gears, terrifying and trance-inducing, with equal nods to the heaviest strains of industrial metal and the most primitive depths of black/death violence. No filler tracks, no fade-outs, no avant-garde intellectual scum: just 7 slabs of inhuman heaviness fueled by total hate. The world is dead and mankind is shit,. $10.00

Leila Abdul-Rauf - Insomnia CD ( Malignant Antibody: Treatment05)
As a solo composer, San Francisco based, multi-instrumentalist Leila Abdul-Rauf stylistically diverges from her current and previous work in much heavier projects (Vastum, Ionophore, Hammers of Misfortune, Amber Asylum, Bastard Noise), and finds a home on Malignant side label, Antibody. Insomnia represents her first CD release following an LP on Saadi Saati in 2013, and a collaborative 7" with Tor Lundvall on Dais Records in 2014. Insomnia brings the spirit of these earlier releases to a new level of dynamic richness, with additional instrumentation and several guest contributions. Brass, piano and various other textures are delicately woven into filmic soundscapes that echo the sounds of memories faded through time. Solemn vignettes seem to emanate from an early morning dream state, the late autumnal tones and noir-ish melodies drifting through fog, evoking feelings of quiet isolation and solitude. Recalling haunting and desolate places, a private world is exposed, where time and space are distilled down to what remain of distant pasts and hidden emotions, melded into a symphony of ethereal melancholy. In 6 panel digipak with striking and complementary artwork by renowned artist Mark Thompson, Insomnia represents some of the most beautifully emotive and introspective work ever to grace the Malignant roster. For fans of: Tor Lundvall, Caul, Lisa Gerrard, Dead Can Dance.. $10.66

Lingouf - Quatuor Solitaire CD ( Ant-Zen: Act356)
For more than a decade Lingouf surprised his listeners with a myriad of releases that, while the sound and conceptual approach has constantly changed are always recognizably Lingouf. For the realization of 'Quatuor Solitaire', samples, acoustic instruments and vocals were omitted - leaving only synthesizers as sound sources and each composition was made using only four tracks. this is an integral part of the concept behind this release. Like the 4 basic elements fire, water, wind and air, 4 tracks can be the raw elements to any individual's singular universe - a quartet (french: quatuor), a mirror to look inside oneself. The sonic results of this conceptual excursion are 7 powerful tracks with mighty bass pulses, catchy sequencer lines and the peculiar melodies only Lingouf is able to create. This is technoid intelligent dance music at it's best - a perfect balance between ease and tension, suitable for headphones as well as for club sound systems.. $12.99

Luftwaffe - Trephanus Uhr ( Lichterklang: LK014)
Reissue of Luftwaffe's 2004 album, featuring Boyd Rice (NON), Douglas P. (Death In June), and Richard Leviathan (Ostara). "Luftwaffe create effective industrial atmospheres through swathes of harsh electronic noise interspersed with sample and dialogue and declamated lyrics. The constant martial rhythms and occassional orchestral effects ensure easy comparisons with NON's epochal live recording "In The Shadow of the Sword". Several tracks adopt a harsher outlook... A folk based approach incorporates gentle flute but the vocals remain rooted in a masculine and stern manner. Ostara's Richard Leviathan delivers esotericism over acoustic guitar and spirited trumpet score... Douglas P.'s refined tones are set against a backdrop of acoustic guitars and kettle drums recalling early Death In June. Both tracks are free of the industrial posturing proving the age old adage: less is more" (Compulsion). Digipak.. $12.00

Lustmord - Beyond ( Ant-Zen: Act309)
Legendary sound artist Lustmord has created a sound that created and epitomizes the sub-genre of dark ambient. Williams began working under that name in 1980, and since then his dark sound sculptures have been highly influential not only in music genres such as ambient and industrial, but also in film and games.
Lustmord's sound investigations are exquisitely crafted manifestations of horror that balance sublime sound references with the body's natural queasiness about ultra-low frequencies. Lustmord has previously extracted the eeriness from field recordings made in crypts, caves, and slaughterhouses, and combined it with occasional ritualistic incantations and the haunting wail of Tibetan horns. his seamless treatments of acoustic phenomena encased in digitally expanded bass rumbles have the darkly ambient quality of nightmares that take you to the blackest of abysses
With 'Beyond' , Lustmord presents the second (and final) disc of extended remixes from the album [other] which was primarily released in 2009 in a limited edition of 1000 copies. The album's sinister atmosphere delivers a simply breathtaking listening experience. offering a plethora of aural images, 'Beyond' stimulates thought deep within the mind within one full hour of frightening and addictive darkest ambience.. $13.99

Dark ambient currents and growls, padded with strings and angelic voices, are interrupted by effected voices, tribal/industrial percussion and sound effects. Legendary sound artist Lustmord has created a sound that created and epitomizes the sub-genre of dark ambient. His seamless treatments of acoustic phenomena encased in digitally expanded bass rumbles have the darkly ambient quality of nightmares that take you to the blackest of abysses.
'Rising' was captured live at the Center for Inquiry, Los Angeles June 6, 2006, with no additional overdubs or post-production. The performance drew on material from various Lustmord albums, melded and blended into new combinations, as well as new material and improvisation. The initial release of 'Rising' in 2006 also marked the 25th anniversary of Brian Williams' project. While the compositions are structured around the three "greater magic" elements of a satanic mass, they are not dependent on same for context and meaning, and as such can provide a background for deep contemplation and, in some cases, relaxation. a dark ambient triumph, an evocative and challenging work that will not disappoint those with open minds.. $14.77

Lustmord - Zoetrope ( Ant-Zen: Act305)
Inspired by the Franz Kafka short story 'In the Penal Colony,' Zoetrope presents the haunting visions of a man imprisoned within the inner depths of his own mind. He tries to escape his torturer's talon grips, only to discover the truth about himself and the world of oppression which has driven him to this inescapable fate. Consisting of both the music and extensive sound design of the movie, melded and mutated to recapture the atmospheric nightmare of the world that is Zoetrope, where walls breath and dreams become nightmares. Originally conceived as a two month music and sound design project, it quickly evolved into a three year journey into madness, as Zoetrope the movie became a complex exercise in pure cinema and sound.
In this score, Brian Williams maintains the focus on aleatoric sound manipulations made of echoing effects, tormented voices, industrial artifacts and slightly neglect the specific rumbling and layered electronic textures that were heavily substantial in his previous efforts.. $13.99
