Dehn Sora - The Sensation of Being One of Them CD/Book (Cyclic Law: 81stCycle)
French graphic designer and musician Dehn Sora, (aka Treha Sektori), compiled over two years of his visual work taken from exhibitions, carefully selected works commissioned by various international musical acts and labels (Blut aus Nord, Church of Ra, Manes, Cyclic Law and more) and also presents us two full series of new artworks.
The book is accompanied by a 25 minutes album of previously unreleased material specially created for this book release. Titled “The Sense of Dust and Sheer” and composed as a soundtrack to the books visuals, it is a collaboration between Dehn Sora’s own project, TREHA SEKTORI and the solo project of Swiss composer Sam Vaney, MUHD (of Cortez fame). A unique addition to this album is the rare presence of KRISTOFFER RYGG from ULVER, contributing his always poignant vocal skills to the whole, making this ep a very special piece in itself.
Divided into four chapters, Dehn Sora exposes his chimerical visual obsessions through the hidden symbolism of animality and manifests sacred, unknown mythologies. Each pieces are accompanied by a written comment, complementing their deeper meaning.
Edition of 300 copies.Book Format: 7x10". Spot UV lettering on Hardbound cover. 100 pages. Matte Finnish.CD: 1 Track. Running Time 25:00. $36.00

Michael Idehall - House of Flames Book/CD (Ajna Offensive: Flame86)
Seems I'm late to discover the work of Swede Michael Idehall, but that changed with his most recent release on Ant-Zen and this impressive piece of work on Ajna, Apparently he's been active since 2003 over which time he has participated in original scores for theater and video, been involved with solo and group art exhibitions, performed and released music via several Swedish publishing houses and has had his writings published by the likes of Belzebez, Aeon Sophia Press and Scarlet Imprint. Even without having any of that material, I'd venture to guess that this most recent work for Ajna is one of his more defining releases; a 68 page hardback book in 12" x 12" format, bound in red cloth with gold foil stamping, black end-papers, 2 color printing on glossy pages with a CD mounted onto the back inside board, and limited to 86 copies. Ajna has created some epic packaging before, and even by their lofty standards, this is right up there. Musically, we're given 2 lengthy tracks of abstract sound: deep electronic drones. super heavy machine vibrations, a swelling black tide of resonant tones, and some solid mechanized dirge. An impressive specimen all around and worth the necessary funds to procure it.. $75.00

Noise Receptor - Issue No. 1 (Noise Receptor: NRJ01)
New magazine from Richard Stevenson (he of Spectrum magazine fame), operating on a smaller scale, but maintaining the quality of workmanship and print he established in the late '90s. Noise Receptor has been a blog for the last couple of years or so, and this new print venture constitutes the physical manifestation, but, in Richard's words, "also contains new interview and art content to differentiate it from the already published web-based reviews.Whilst noise receptor journal is not intended to replace the web-blog, it is however targeted at an audience who values the permanence of print media over the transience of web-content".
This tidy, well put together ( ‘perfect bound’ spine, with matte laminate, thick card stock cover') journal contains 56 pages of insightful, carefully worded reviews focusing mostly on the realm of dark ambient, power electronics, and death industrial, as well as a super long, in-depth review with Thomas Ekelund of Trepaneringsritualen, as well as a lot of his artwork.. $10.99
