Raison D'Etre - Collected Works (Infinite Fog: IF-30)
'Collected Works' is a collection album containing tracks between 1999 and 2010 taken from various compilations or other external projects. Despite that, these tracks form together a unity like if they were material for a conceptual album and present a memorandum of a past. Death, decay, melancholia and sadness are the common attributes and this is also beautifully rendered in the artwork images by Martin Bladh (IRM, Skin Area). His "premature death masks" sequence is based on different aging faces of Peter Andersson and works as the perfect facade for this kind of sonic journey and exposure.. $12.67

Raison D'Etre - Mise en Abyme (Drone: TR-10)
Re-stock! Transgredient Records is very proud to release the newest studio-work by this well known Swedish ambient industrial project, continually renewing the dark ambient genre since 1992.
"Mise en Abyme" is the first Raison d'etre studio album in over 4 years, following a very special "initiation concept" with an emphasis on the experience of sequential psychological states with cathartic effects - diving into the deepest regions of the subconscious in order to return with a fresh and 'empty' mind. All the previously beloved elements of Raison d'etres music are here: spacious deep drones, touching sacral choirs, ritualistic sounds from gongs and bells and other awesome integrated field / object recordings - all impressively enhanced to reach a new level of masterful atmospheric composition. Moving from dramatic tension and threatening uproar to meditative beauty, this near hour long album reveals various changes and details, while always sounding monolithic (all of one piece), expressing almost unbearable sensations of melancholy, vastness and contemplation. The idea behind this album, in the words of the artist: " 'Mise en Abyme' is an inner journey down to the most hidden and dark parts of the Self. 'Mise en Abyme' literally means 'placed into the abyss' and conceptually the album contains ingredients from 'The Divine Comedy' by Dante or any similar stories/myths around the katabasis theme. Instead of being linked to religion, history or morality, it is purely a psychological and therapeutic trip to the underworld, investigating the subconscious. But even in the darkest and chaotic places in the depths, there are small shades of light, hope and understanding; one can be enlightened and purified upon returning to the conscious world."

Raison d'Etre - The Empty Hollow Unfolds (Expanded Edition) CD (Retortae: Elixir6)
The ambience of grim desolation: With 'The Empty Hollow Unfolds', originally released in 2000 on Cold Meat Industry, the ubiquitous Peter Andersson continued his exploration of internal desolation, be it of a spiritual base or purely of self. "The Empty Hollow" in question seems to be the soul; a soul that has unfolded into a vast, blasted industrial landscape, littered with warehouse debris that solemnly clatters like wind chimes born of refuge. The darkened shadows cast on 'The Empty Hollow Unfolds'are of an eerie, almost sinister allegiance, as if the maw at the center of infinity is yawning wide and the haled breath freezes souls; brittle souls that shatter before the immense veracity of such imposing internal devastation. Bones clang over chain-link fences. Metal creaks unsteadily. Bleak is an understatement, as the vast scope of emotions presented here is a sonic lament that lashes the soul. ’The Empty Hollow Unfolds’ is a grim travelogue from the land where the sun never rises; grievous keyboard passages overlaid by factory noises and the trademark chanting monks turns this into some of the most unsettling listening since the days of Lustmord's 'Paradise Disowned'.
'The Empty Hollow Unfolds' was voted as the single best release in the history of Cold Meat Industry, making it an important milestone and point of reference. The expanded edition adds two previously unreleased tracks to the album The artwork is, as the original release, styled with somber photos by Martín Pels.. $15.33

Raison D'Etre - When the Earth Dissolves in Ashes (Live 2010/2011) (Cold Meat Industry: CMI213)
'When the Earth Dissolves in Ashes' gathers 75 minutes of unique material formerly performed only live at different locations during 2010 and 2011: Zürich, Wuppertal, Rotterdam, Cologne, Leipzig (WGT), Cherkassy and more. The starting point for these live tracks is mainly the sounds used for 'In sadness, Silence and Solitude', 'Metamorphyses' and 'The Stains of the Embodied Sacrifice', which are then looped and mixed together live with on spot improvised sounds, thus shaped them into new, never before heard sonic expressions. 75 minutes, in 6 panel digipak.
Biography: Raison d'être formed in 1991 as a tool of expression with the goal of self-realization. Behind the project is the highly respected and multitalented sound artist Peter Andersson. For almost two decades now, and with a vast number of CD releases on the Cold Meat Industry label, raison d'être have been supplying listeners with overwhelming dark ambient industrial landscapes of beauty and sorrow. Listening to raison d'être is like a lucid journey into the dark hidden domains of your inner self. But this is not all. Peter Andersson host not only one but up to nine other projects representing different sides and sounds of the Andersson character. The most well known outside of Raison D'être are Stratvm Terror, Necrophorus, Bocksholm and Atomine Elektrine.. $13.00

Ramleh - Circular Time 2CD (Crucial Blast: CBR115)
It’s been nearly 20 years since the last full-length album from Ramleh operating in “rock” mode, but the sprawling new double album Circular Time sees these British noise rock legends deliver their most intense work since re-emerging from extended hiatus.
One of the key bands to emerge from the British post-industrial underground of the early 1980s alongside their Broken Flag label-mates Skullflower, Ramleh continually shifted between the extreme, confrontational power electronics of their early material and their later forays into searing, lysergic noise rock, right up until they went inactive in the late 1990s. The group re-emerged later the following decade with a number of reissues and new releases, but up until now, nearly all of the new material indulged their harsh noise tendencies. With this massive new album, these distortion masters (now comprised of founding member Gary Mundy, longtime member Anthony Di Franco and new drummer Martyn Watts) return with nearly two hours of speaker-shredding, void-gazing psychedelia, pushing the pummeling, Hawkwindian meltdowns heard on classic ’90s-era albums like Be Careful What You Wish For and Shooters Hill into realms of total obliteration.
Forged from a simple but savage combination of pummeling drumming, monstrously overloaded synthesizers and elliptical, sludge-encrusted bass riffs that anchor the squalls of brutal, electrified guitar noise, Ramleh’s sound is hypnotically crushing. Heavy, zoned-out drone-rock grooves are unleashed amid gales of sky-scorching guitar noise, with epic psych-shred workouts stretched out across storms of nebular effects. Distant vocals howl beneath sheets of shimmering guitar, and streaks of twisted, mutant dub materialize within some of the album’s catchier moments. It’s dark, often brutal music, but also shot through with moments of sweeping, apocalyptic beauty, building to the powerful back-to-back finale of “Weird Tyranny” and “Never Returner” that are as utterly blasted and majestic as anything heard from Ramleh in the band’s thirty-some-year existence.. $12.99

The last entry in the apocalyptic series, the accumulation of events that has brought the listener to this point, Promethean is the closing chapter of the worlds transformation.
Promethean picks up years after the event of The Architects destructive era of eradication, as well as the years of darkness and reflection within the Remnants album. Until he reaches his final destination, his final transformation, the point in time to change his path forever.

Rapoon - My Life As a Ghost 2CD (Zoharum: Zohar141-2)
The next album in the Rapoon reissue series is "My Life as a Ghost" from 2004. It is suspended exactly between the "Rhiz" with its rhythmic structures and the human voice experiments known from, for example, "Disappeared". Another thing that returned are strong ambient textures which were absent from "Rhiz" coming from the same period and reissued together with "My Life as a Ghost" This is one of the most interesting, if not the most interesting Robin Storey album, from the first decade of 2000s.
The current edition, along with most other Rapoon re-releases in the Zoharum catalog, has been expanded to include an additional disc featuring refreshed unpublished recordings from the same session. On this second disc Robin Storey penetrates more rhythmic regions again, but with a strong melodious backbone. The extra 70 minutes completes the original album in a perfect way.
The CDs are housed in a digipak sleeve and the album is strictly limited to 500 copies. The cover is designed by Maciej Mehring based on Robin Storey's paintings. The album is mastered by Maciej Bartkowiak. The whole production process is overseen by Michał Porwet.. $14.67

Rapoon - Sanctus Equinox CD (Winter-Light: WIN012)
Rapoon's second release on Winter-Light.
Many people will already be familiar with Robin Storey. Not just for his pioneering work as founder of the industrial group :zoviet*france: in 1979, but also of course for his solo-project Rapoon, which began life in 1992. Now, 25 years after the inception of his solo ambient project, Rapoon is still very much with us and still very much active.
In celebration of this, his 25th Silver Anniversary, Winter Light releasing a trilogy of new work from Rapoon entitled ‘The Mercury Rising Trilogy’. The Mercury Rising Trilogy will comprise of three brand new studio albums, all with exclusive material. The albums will bring a new feel to Robin’s work, that of a more off world spacious feel, jazzy in parts with a ceremonial thread running throughout. Each album interlinked by this feel and theme, as the titles suggest, but with each one still having it’s own unique identity.
Here is the first part of the Mercury Rising Trilogy, ‘Sanctus Equinox’.
What if you had created a race of sentient beings and then simply abandoned them, having no further use left for them? What might become of them and what sort of world would these replicants create for themselves, if left to their own devices?
‘Sanctus Equinox’ is a portrayal of that world, a painted landscape of the secret rites and ceremonies practiced by it’s inhabitants. Celebrations and rituals created to overcome the sense of loss and abandonment, after being discarded by their creators, deemed to have no further worth. Scattered across the many moons in their new solar system, they gather en masse to worship under alien skies, bathed in the fractured light of moons and suns. Dressed in splendid costumes, they sing and dance along great winding, standing stone pathways; a procession of vibrant colours and chants moving hypnotically towards stone circles raised high to the heavens.
As the solar winds blow across now empty plains, time stands still as chants of ‘Sanctus Saves….’ echoes through the air.
Processed vocals, atmospheric pads, sub bass patterns, strings and old school sci-fi sounds all exquisitely layered to produce an album of intense beauty. The feel is one of ceremonial celebration and ritualistic joy. A ray of shining hope in the lives of a forgotten people.. $13.67

Rapoon & Promute - Machine River CD (Zoharum: Zohar079-2)
Not only is Robin Storey aka Rapoon a very prolific solo artist, but also he collaborates with many musicians from all over the world. He has already worked with Mykel Boys, Wyrm, Pas Musique, Kinder Atom, Cisfinitum, Pacific 231 et al. This time he teamed up with Shaun Sandor aka Promute to create 8 haunting tracks.
This is the story of their meeting in the words of Shaun Sandor: This collaboration between Rapoon and Promute is a direct result of the 2011 Endless Form Tour. For several nights in a row in different cities I sat in a swirling mist of sound conjured by Rapoon. The music easily generated notions of timelessness and seductive landscapes. In all of this, I was realizing that the electro-acoustic set that I was performing seemed to be a natural compliment to the music of Rapoon. I created several dozen tracks of homemade instruments, prepared guitar and bass, and sitar and sent them to Robin Storey to manipulate, process and edit. I asked my friend Des Kashyap to contribute some vocals as well, and he agreed. Robin added his music and vocals as well and did the arranging and mixing.
The CD is housed in an ecopak sleeve and is strictly limited to 500 copies.. $12.00

Rasalhague - Rage Inside the Window (Malignant: TumorCD49)
Following the self released 3inch CDr from a few years back, Rage Inside the Window is the astounding formal debut of Indiana based dark ambient artist Rasalhague, offering some of the most haunting, dread filled, and yet dynamic atmospheres we've come across in some time.
Inspired by the true events of a young girl neglectfully imprisoned in filth and squalor by her thoughtless and uncaring mother. Rage Inside the Window takes the listener into the mind of a savagely depraved soul. Don't expect ambient of the spaced out, blissful, and softly textured variety. This is dirty and impenetrably dark, with an intertwining mass of demonic squalls, intense probing, highly ominous tonal drones, distant monolithic pulsations, and bleak isolationism. 6 lengthy tracks of pure psychological horror are presented here, with each piece segueing into each other in transforming waves, progressively getting darker, brooding, and more menacing as it goes. Finally, with the final track, some semblance of solace is achieved. Reference points can be made to Atrium Carceri, recent Raison d'Etre, and the like, but ultimately, Rasalhague operates within its own realm.
In 6 panel, full color DVD Digipak.

Rasthof Dachau - Free Speech Series 3inch (L-White: LW027/6)
5 tracks on this one. Pretty classically styled industrial…deep, pulsing heavy electronic atmospheres with a threatening, tension filled edge, some rhythmic elements, and muted, but strong vocals. The last three tracks are particularly strong, upping the aggression level with hard, looping rhythms and thick, penetrating frequency drones. Gets better as it goes, this may be my favorite of the newest Free Speech batch. Part 6 of the series. $7.00

Rasthof Dachau - Prison Poems (Steinklang: SK36)
The first new full length record in seven years, Prison Poems" is a conceptual work about the Irish civil-rights movement of the 1970s. This album deals with the fate of a handful of young IRA hunger strikers, imprisoned for political affairs, but then simply sentenced as criminals. Most of the text on this album is taken from poems written by one of the strikers - on toilet and cigarette paper with the refill of a biro-pen, hidden inside his body in the years before he died. Confrontational and provocative heavy electronics with hard rhythms and pulsations, persistent, grinding loops, and cold, uneasy analog frequencies. At its best when it slows down and comes off as something Galakthorroe-ish, riding a vibe of isolation and angst, well in tune with the concept and theme.. $13.00

Raunacht - Waldeinsamkeit mCD (Percht: Percht18)
"Waldeinsamkeit" is completely based on the lyrics and sounds of STURMPERCHT, the legendary creators of Alpine Folk music. This mini-Album with a playingtime of 28 minutes was in fact recorded BEFORE the debut album "Vorweltschweigen", but due to unknown reasons never finished. In autumn 2012 the band was able to complete the recordings, so that we could finally release this pearl of finest Alpineblackmetal now. RAUHNACHT is a dark journey through deep forests and misty mountains, full of Alpine Battle Hymns and grim Martial Anthems for mountain trolls. "Waldeinsamkeit" (means: forest solitude) is deeply engrained in alpine mysticism, ancient pagan rites and heathen legends around strange fairies and wild folks. This sinister album entrains you to arcane mountains, dark chasms and gloomy underwood and guides you to the most secret places in the very depth of the holy Central European Alps, where wild hunters meet creepy creatures from dusk til dawn. $10.66

Re-DrUm/B°tong - Split (Zoharum: Zohar065-2)
Split album between Russian RE-DRUM and Swiss B°TONG. Each project has prepared 30 minutes for this special release.
Avid Zoharum observers already know Pavel Aleshin's project called Re-DrUm. 5 years ago we released his album "S" and it was our 7th release. In the meantime, he has been touring extensively plus released one full album, a digital EP and offered his music on a split release with Rovar17. Now Pavel returns to Zoharum with 3 new tracks of contemplative nature. They are full of slow acoustic sounds and field recordings. His sound on "Hush!" is less droney than on "S", but much more organic and laid-back.
The second part of this release belongs to Chris Sigdell and his renowned project b°tong. In contrast to Re-DrUm, "Ascending in the Light of an Alien Sun" is a different affair - a dark, brooding affair full of oily drones and treated sounds. Again, composed of 3 songs, it takes you on a trip to the desolate factory inhabited with ghosts of its previous owners.
This special project is released in a mini-vinyl sleeve and is strictly limited to 400 copies worldwide.. $7.00

Roma Amor - Una Torbida Estate CD (Old Europa Café: OECD207)
“Una Torbida Estate” is where Roma Amor have particularly conveyed their love for movie soundtracks from 70’s erotic, thrilling, action or exotic film music to minimalist scores themes.
Roma Amor create a sort of cinematic atmosphere with their typical emphasis on deep romantic lyrics, Euski’s catchy deep melodies with harmonic figures in different vocal lines and Candela’s repetitive accordion patterns developed through small melodic cells.
The lyrics follow the heart’s beating rhythms and the soundscapes of the music, featuring loads of sentimental feelings influenced by Emily Dickinson, Italo Calvino, Antonia Pozzi, Mogol with the accent on love and sensual themes.
The musical texture is enriched by some special guests: § the violinist Matt Howden, remarkable for his use of looped strings in the song “Inverno”
§ Matteo Carnio’s electric guitar with his touch in the title track “Una Torbida Estate” as well as in “Battiti”, “A Tus Besos”, “Lies”, "Il Cuore"
§ Maestro Zabberoni, the man with the harmonica in “Der Treue Husar” and “Amsterdam” and with his flamenco guitar in the song “Mucho Mas Que Ayer” § brother Andrea Candela at the drums and Mirko at the piano in “Tu…Ancora Tu”.
The tracklist includes original songs written by the duo Euski-Candela, with lyrics in different languages (Italian, Spanish, English, German), a rarefied version in three languages of the traditional song “Der Treue Husar” (love lost on the Italian front - to commemorate the centenary of Italy entering the First World War) and Jacques Brel’s Amsterdam, that is always on Roma Amor lives, now on CD.

Rome - Hell Money (Trisol: TRI458)
„Hell Money“ is different. You’ve probably known ROME as an entity creating an invigorating meta-political, para-religious universe, functioning according to its own code and incorporating all kinds of elements from history to philosophy and musical expressions into one catchy collection of songs within an industrial-ish, brainy collage. „Hell Money“ is different. You’ve most likely heard Jerome’s voice as coming from the depths of pan-European wisdom, toying with poetic elements from expressionism to post-modernism, with each word of poetry sucking you way more into a sweet world of oblivion, a soothing chanson crooner indebted to the traditions American and European folk. „Hell Money“ is different. You’ve come to love ROME’s concept collages, shedding new light on the realities of the world and its history, whilst giving a voice to the downtrodden. „Hell Money“ is –yet again– different. „Hell Money“ is an emotional tour-de-force through the twisted inner workings of a tormented individual. A journey into a heart of sadness, where greed, addiction and self-immolation have taken their toll on sanity. The songs remain fragmentary and crude. The voice on this album is not the voice of reason, it is an individual unashamed, yet deeply tormented by the demons that have come to haunt it. The music is built primarily by an anger-driven acoustic guitar and a voice bereft of poetic hipness. No martial drums, no retro-sampling, but drums and sampling nonetheless. „Hell Money“ is sparse, crude, intimate, sick... and ultimately honest.. $6.00

Rotat - Carnal Beauty CD (Freak Animal: RCBFACD1)
After hearing this great recording of ROTAT, Freak Animal decided that merely around dozen copies as self financed tape isn't enough. What we have here, is full length CD version of Carnal Beauty. Unusual case in Finnish noise at this era, announcing influences like TAINT and SMELL & QUIM. Providing both sleaxy and grim as well as deranged sense of black humor. It is hard to put ROTAT into narrow category. It goes from harsh and brutal noise to power electronics, with lots of primitive sounds and electronic damage. It is ugly and disturbing recording.. $12.77
