Hall of Mirrors - Forgotten Realm ( Silentes: SME0927)
Second “chapter” in the “Hall of Mirrors” saga, a project that hides the fervid minds of Giuseppe Verticchio/Nimh and Andrea Marutti/Amon. On this release they’re supported by Andrea Freschi (Subinterior, Konau…) and Andrea Ferraris (Ur, Sil Muir…), who gave their contribute with additional sound sources. Another long and fascinating journey among the ruins of lost and ancient civilizations, among desolate landscapes forgotten by time… To enrich the already busy electronic stratifications, among slowly evolving ambient sonorities and occasional parts of more sharp and “rough” elements of a Post-Industrial nature, we also find suggestive sound of reverberating flutes and dilated electric guitar parts, ending with delicate melodic arpeggios and evocative rhythmic accents of a vague cinematic taste.. $13.66

Halo Manash - Am Kha Astrie ( Aural Hypnox: AH10)
Finally back in stock! Am Kha Astrie", a work of heliotropic, elemental ambient, is an opening, an awakening, a summoning, a crossing of thresholds. After their previous oneiric and minimal album, "Am Kha Astrie" sees Halo Manash re-integrate a more diverse instrumentation and a multiplicity of soundsources to create their work, which consists of seven interrelated tracks. Archaic elemental drums, bones and spiraling animal horns merge with various metal percussions, chimes, wind-instruments, voices and a multitude of other instruments to create a deep, earthly and yet celestially-bound opus. "Am Kha Astrie" is a massive and sometimes ominous work, a primal experience of coming-into-being, with all the terror, ecstasy and divine awe that it implies. Hand finished cruciform folder. Ltd x 1000. On a more editorial note, this is off the charts good!!! A real must.. $13.77

Harvest Rain - The Land of Tears is So Mysterious ( Cold Lands: CRD003)
South Carolina's "Harvest Rain" are back with their latest album "The Land of Tears is So Mysterious". This is their long-awaited follow-up to "Blood Hymns" that they released over five long years ago. With new faces and old alike (Jason A. Thompkins with Joseph Pyne and Juan A. of Der Arbeiter), it is a mixture of their haunting dark cemetery folk music with a more Cold Wave (or what the press has labeled them as "Ghost Wave") sound with very subtle drum beats and ghostly keyboards. All this with Jason Thompkins' very unique Southern voice and his use of themes from nature to describe his deepest feelings. This has been a long-awaited album and one can imagine that the fans of Harvest Rain are ready to hear what new material they have been up to for the past five years.. $5.00

Haven - Amity ( Zoharum: Zohar16)
'Amity' is definitely the most accessible album in the discography of this project. After flirting with American Tympanic Audio, [Haven] comes back to the Polish market. The new album, [Haven]'s fifth can be quite a challenge for the current [Haven] fanbase. 'Amity' is a bold journey through different soundscapes, linking different musical worlds: elements of ambient and post-industrial electronica soaking in the experimental sauce. Piced up with oriental melodies and beautiful voice of Magda Głocka, it constitutes an attractive alternative for listeners from the outside of the independent music circle.. $5.00

Heldentod - The Ghost Machine ( Cold Spring: CSR131CD)
Heldentod began in 2005 as an outlet for research into the little-known corners of 20th-Century history. While previous recordings whiplashed between the traditional and the experimental, Heldentod's latest album leaves behind its neofolk and martial-industrial roots to focus solely on electronics, but maintains the fundamental sense of composition found in earlier incarnations. Although now primarily influenced by death industrial and power electronics, Heldentod looks to create the most suitable expression of its key themes, including ghosts, ancestor worship, human sacrifice, neolithic fertility rights, Iron Age religion, mediæval literature, unseen dimensions, inhuman intelligences, and all manner of Forteana.. $12.00

Herbst9 - The Gods Are Small Birds, But I Am The Falcon ( LOKI: LOKI48)
The soundtracks projected by Herbst9 open a transcendental space, leading the listener to the depths of the unconsciousness. Archaic sounds of an earthly timbre are combined with subtle-sweeping melodies and chorals while strong percussive rhythms and drummings built up a shamanic atmosphere. The natural sound stands with Herbst9 and the ritual motives developing visionary sequences. The all new album of Herbst9 is a step further into the depths of the Assyrian and Asian mythologies, using authentic audio and visual fragments of sacrifices, lamentations, prayers and ancient rituals. The result is a deep labyrinth of sounds with meditative percussions, ghostly vocal fragments and singings which melts with detailed and multi-layered tones of various traditional instruments. All this is constructed around a core of dark and ongoing floating drones creating an atmosphere of true archaic music which has been developed by Herbst9 to perfection. This soundtrack is the secrecy from the deep and hidden places of the sacred earth transcending us beyond the real world to the inner realm of ourselves.. $13.77

Herbst9 - Usumgal Kalamma 2CD ( LOKI: LOKi56)
What began with the previous releases, "Buried Under Time and Sand" and "The Gods Are Small Birds..." comes now to the final chapter and climax, with an epic double album, Usumgal Kalamma: "The written word that has come down to us through the discovery of the ancient civilizations of Sumer and Akkad and the deciphering of their languages and writing systems speaks of flourishing city-states, their holy places, their great rulers, their deeds in peace and war, their gods and demons, their rituals, their tales of creation and much more." Usumgal Kalamma is a huge and rich soundwork, divided into two parts that transport the listener into the realms of the archaic world. It is an invitation to explore a mythic age in history whereby the inventions of these people are still connected with us today. Intense ritualistic and percussive drumming melt with deep atmospheric drones, invocations, otherwordly tones and various acoustic instruments such as gongs, bells and zither. This sonic prayer is Herbst9´s trademark of a ritual infused dark ambient style and an essential document that combines historical background with sound art. Comes in a box with a 32-pages booklet. $18.50

Herbst9/Z'Ev - Through Bleak Landscapes ( LOKI: LOKI45)
Back in stock, hooray! Definitely record of the year material here, though thats not a big surprise. The dark, echo-laden and cavernous drones of Herbst9 coupled with the resonant, heavy barrel percussion of industrial pioneer Z'ev makes for the perfect marriage
of both projects working with each others raw material, while the final mix was made by Herbst9. The result is ten, awe inspiring tracks full of stunning atmospheres and dynamic aural effects
a sombre and meditative soundtrack made with gongs, choral textures, deep vibrating strings and scraping effect-sounds reaching it´s climax with outbursting tribalistic sequences and drummings. An impressive and gripping journey through bleak landscapes and abandoned places accompanied by a 24 page booklet. Pretty close to perfect.. $13.77

H.E.R.R. - XII Caesars ( Cold Spring: CSR117)
H.E.R.R.'s 4th album was originally inspired by the book "De Vita Caesarum" by Gaius Suetonius Tranquillus from 121 AD, during the reign of the emperor Hadrian. It is one of the greatest sources of much of what we know about the first twelve Caesars after the fall of the Republic. "Although we felt small when looking up to such giants, we took up this book and started on this odyssey that was to end in the first tragi-comic Neoclassical operetta about The Twelve Caesars". Let the light of heart rule in this more "song-based" album. Comes with an elegant 16-page booklet. $6.00

Herz Juhning - Miasma ( Galakthorro: Galakt024)
After Herz Juhning has whetted the appetite of so many listeners with his Faces EP, Galakthorro now is proud to be able to present Herz Juhning's first Longplayer. On Miasma he combines the kinetic energy of Power-Electronics with favourite ingredients from the witches'cauldron of Angst Pop. You will hear brutal bass-drones, nasty electrified currents, pumping analog rhythms and eerie frequency modulations. The sound elements have been ruthlessly selected to emphasise the reductive characteristics, and brought together around the incisive vocals to form an homogenous and complete work of art. Whether ailing popsongs, aggressive noise-attacks, or ominous sound experiments, all is artfully united in the 13 songs found on Miasma. Once more it is Juhning's no-frills arranging technique, that shows itself to be so highly effective on Miasma, just as it made Faces so successful. There is much to discover and Miasma will take the hearts of its listeners by storm! How could it not?Dare I say, this is almost as good (maybe as good) as Haus Arafna and November Novelet. Incredible.. $18.66

Human Larvae - Home is Where the Hurt Is ( Existest: EEVIII)
From the titles ("I Do This Because I Love You", "To Hide in Her Uterus & Hopefully Suffocate in Absolute Tranquility" etc) to the sounds, there's some definite Navicon worship going on here. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing. After all, if I made music (and I still might, so watch out), I'd probably take my cue from Lee as well. Good thick, dark apocalyptic sounds here... an emotional torrent of self-destructive force with styles that range from rhythmic orchestral industrial to bleak passages of black noise with a good dosage of throbbing feedback and scathing vocals. There is some sick twisted narrative to be found here but the search for these mysterious happenings will bring you to places you may never return from.. $10.00

Hybryds - Urban Rituals ( Sleepless: Awake04)
From the beginning of the 80s, Hybryds mixed ethnic music with electronics, nowadays very normal, but not so evident in those times. Hybryds was a concept of mixing ancient esoteric knowledge, magic, religion and modern technology. Trance and meditation were keywords in their musical journey. More than 40 music releases, from ritual, to cyberpunk noise, to soft meditation music were released out of the brain of Sandy Nys. From 2000, Madeline Arndt became the new vocalist of Hybryds. On this brand new album, the new sound becomes an impressive statement: Born out of jam sessions from Sandy Nys (beats, samples & noise) with Traumasutra (percussion) and shaped to new dimensions by the vocal input of Madeline Arndt. The dark power of the breath of a city takes over, urban rhythms, urban magic. Music and magic never dies, it just looks and sounds different…. $7.00

Hyios - Consuetudines ( Malignant: TumorCD40)
The alluring debut from Leipzig Germanys Hyios, Consuetudines offers 7 lengthy compositions of cold ritual drones, arching trajectories, and visceral descents into subterranean caverns, where rich, kinetic textures and deep resonant tones move and morph in a fluid, serpentine fashion, sprinkled with the debris of an ancient culture and something more otherworldly and primordial. Leipzig has historically proven to be fertile ground for dark ambient and Consuetudines continues in the fine tradition set forth by such notable acts as Inade and Herbst9. In 6 panel digipak, mastered by Secret Lab. A great new discovery.. $7.00

Hypsiphrone - And The Void Shall Pierce Their Eyes ( Black Plagve: Infect09)
Debut album from this one man project from Greece, and a new entry into the Black Plague roster, fitting right in with label mate’s Sewer Goddess in its ability to create innately evil and impure sounds, integrating elements of doom metal, black metal, and dark experimentalism into the pure industrial horror that constitutes the majority of this release. The result is nothing short of absolute and abject dread; 8 tracks spanning an hour worth of material…an auditory overload that’s completely immersive, and at times overwhelming , where heaving masses of percussive doom collide with shuddering machinery dirge, ghoulish and nightmarish ambience, torturous screams, and cinematic depravity, the sounds layered into a tangled and abstract tapestry of something completely epic and nearly majestic in its scale. Fans of Gnaw Their Tongues, Abruptum, and “Necrose Evangelicum” era BDN will do well to wallow in the oozing blackness and unbridled malevolence Hypsiphrone has created. Lmtd 500 copies, in 6 panel digipak.. $10.00
