C.3.3. - Ballad of Reading Gaol – The Cacophonietta CD (Cold Spring: CSR255CD)
C.3.3. is a personal project from Paul Jamrozy, co-founder of original industrial agitators TEST DEPT..
The work is inspired by the real life experience of Her Majesty’s Prison Reading. Tracing the history of the location through to the present current political and social situation, evoking the harsh realities of Victorian and modern day Britain.
Reminiscent of the finest mid-era TEST DEPT., such as “Gododdin” or “Pax Britannica”, with heavy percussion, strings, and strident vocals.
The title C.3.3. is drawn from the cell number where the literary figure Oscar Wilde was incarcerated in Reading Gaol under gross indecency charges. C.3.3. was the pseudonym used for the publication “The Ballad of Reading Gaol”, a poem based on the execution of a fellow inmate.
This sonic rendition draws upon the writings of Wilde’s poem and the horrors of prison life for a condemned man, as a metaphor for the universal predicament of all humankind.
Remastered with 2 bonus tracks, featuring TEST DEPT. and presented in a 6-panel digipak.. $12.50

Candor Chasma - The Key (Old Europa Café: OECD194)
Two years after "Rings", Corrado Altieri (Monosonik, Uncodified) and Simon Balestrazzi (T.A.C., Dream Weapon Ritual) are back on OEC with a new release that draws its inspiration from the life and work of Helena Petrovna Blavatsky, the 19th centuty Russian occultist, whose research and publications are still today a reference for many modern esoteric disciplines. "The Key" is a psychic voyage in eight parts, each one referencing dates, places or events which have been pivotal in Mme Blavatsky life and spiritual journey. Candor Chasma once more update the esthetics of post-industrial electronic sound with an obscure suite of psychedelic frequencies streams, hypnotic mantras and abrasive analogue bursts of noise. Carlo Baja Guarienti - Argo 1943 CD (Eibon: Gua095)
Soundtrack composed for a theatrical play of Sartre's "Le mosche" (The flies). Somewhere between ambient, Morricone's most visionary soundscapes and classical music, with some ROSA CRVX-like distorted guitars here and there to unsettle and scramble things up. Does require an open-mided approach and rewards with a very dense hour of meaningful, good music.. $11.67

Carsten Vollmer - Arbeit Nummer 19 CDr (L-White: LW067)
Dr. Nikolaj Moebius was a psychiatrist. and scientist who conducted a lot of experiments with extreme acoustic frequencies to heal mental disabled humans!
For Arbeit Nummer 19, Carsten Vollmer rebuilt such a machine and created sounds from that - pure, harsh noise with sheering, feedback, squelch, walls of ragged and destructive churn. This one fucking hurts.. $5.00

Caul - The Long Dust (Malignant: TumorCD62)
The Long Dust signifies the first full length Caul recording for Malignant since 1998's "Light From Many Lamps' CD, and while, stylistically, Brett's sound has evolved, there's no question it has also matured, moving further away from the climatic drift of the early works, into more structured, composed realms, adding layers of noir-ish percussion and gentle guitar melodies to the arching tones and cinematic textures that define the Caul sound. This is music that speaks of grey skies and introspection...solemn, yet abounding with serene beauty.. $10.00

Caulbearer - Haunts CDr (Peacock Window Recordings: PW01)
Debut release for this New Mexico/Texas based act brings forth some rather turbulent drones built upon manipulated guitar and field recordings. The sound here varies from ethereal and hypnotic to maxed out, full blown churn and pulsating swell, the tones and textures expanding outwards in a blossom of darkly hued colors and patterns. If you're looking to drift off peacefully, this may lure you in, but then wakes you up with a jarring kick to the ribs as the hive-like noise levels get ratcheted up a notch or two. My reference points are definitely Maeror Tri and Troum, but also IOS's dronier parts, and as the label says, Yellow Swans and Tim Hecker (whom I know in name only, but I'll take their word for it).. $7.00

Cawatana - Comprende CD (Twilight Recordings: TWI.147)
Hungarian apocalyptic folk band Cawatana returns to the roots with a special release. The purpose of the new CD is to collect the songs from (mostly long sold out) compilations, vinyls and split releases that have been written and published in the first 15 years of the band, into one album.
All songs have been re-recorded in 2016 (some of them have been slightly reworked), additionally a new (previously unreleased) version of an old song has been recorded for this release. 10 songs in the “classic Cawatana style”: acoustic guitar-based neofolk with martial industrial and neoclassical influences, with the classic lineup of the band including both founding members Kiss Balazs and Sörös Gergö. For all of those who miss the old sound of Cawatana.. $11.00

Cawatana - Decline of Privileges mCD (Lichterklang: LK033)
After five years, Cawatana have finally decided to finish and publish the second part of their mini-album, Advocation for Privileges (originally released by Eis & Licht in 2010), for their forthcoming concert at Runes+Men Festival. The CD will contain six new songs. The EP was began shortly after the work on Advocation for Privileges concluded.
Musically, Decline of Privileges is similar to the first part: acoustic guitar-based dark folk with a little wave-pop influence, melodic and rhythmic, consisting of acoustic guitars, bass, simple keyboard tunes and drum (machine), “ with a little reminiscence to the good old days of neofolk in the 80s, partially influenced by other good things from the era such as dark/new wave or post-punk, but with a modern interpretation. $5.00

Cazzodio - Il Tempo della Locusta CD (Old Europa Café: OECD233)
Reissue of the 1998 "cult" release on Malignant Records / Black Plagve. Cazzodio was the first incarnation of P/S, now recording under the Naxal Protocol monicker and a member of the Italo-Japanese unit CazzoKraft.
A hidden gem in the vast tradition of Italian industrial, sold out for a decade and a half, and finally available again, "Il Tempo della Locusta" was a seminal album, a precursor of a strand of rhythmic power electronics that became more popular in the new millennium. A cult work, allegedly inspirational for many heavy electronics noisemakers from the following generation. Not remastered! The original mastering (by Stone Glass Steel) emphasized wall-shaking low frequencies and skull-piercing hi frequency buzzes, and we offer listeners the original tracks, in their raw and barren beauty. If you missed this album the first time round, it is time for you to relive the glory days of Italian PE Industrial.. $12.67

Cazzokraft - Integrity of the Preconcious System (Old Europa Café: OECD191)
Conceived between Saitama and Berlin, this album is a collaboration between Japanese junk metal noise-master Masahiko Okubo (Linekraft) and Italian rhythmic heavy electronics pioneer P/S (Cazzodio / Naxal Protocol). A bludgeoning combination of the analogue pulsations of vintage Italian power electronics, the furious overdriven metal percussion Linekraft is renowned for, and the trademark mechanical saturated electronics of Cazzodio, assembled with the earsplitting esthetics of Japanese noise. Featuring American death industrial wunderkind The Vomit Arsonist, who contributes vocals on one track. Beautiful as the fortuitous meeting of a shark-operated modular synthesizer and a mental patient hitting on broken car parts, licking rusty chunks of metal to release the tension. Chöd ‎ - Bardo Thodol 2CD (Old Captain: OCCD34)
The Tibetan word "Chöd" means "to cut off' or "to slay", represented in icons by the victory banner and ritual knife. In Chöd, an adept symbolically offers the flesh of their body in a form of a tantric feast. The skin of the practitioner's body represents surface reality or maya: it is cut from bones, the true reality of the mindstream. The similarities between the Chöd ritual and the prototypical initiation of a shaman are obvious, although there is an essential difference between the two: the shaman's initiation is involuntary, whilst a Chod(pa) chooses to undertake the ritual death of a Chod ceremony as a will. Traditionally, Chöd is regarded as challenging, potentially dangerous and inappropriate practice for meditating practitioners. An external Chöd is to wander in fearful places where there are deities and demons, whereas an internal Chöd offers one's own body as food to the deities and demons: the Ultimate Chöd is to realize the true nature of the mind and cut through ignorance. Enter the charnel fields of the obscure monk of the Chöd project to witness the offering of a corpse to the vultures of the tradition that inspires terror. The object of ignorance, the root of samsara, which is holding the "I" as truly existent must be killed as the inner enemy, delusions, and the way of the dharma practice: to achieve liberation, ultimate happiness, cessation of all the sufferings, rebirth and death. Pure occult Evropean tradition in flesh and bones to hurt you. Filed alongside Zero Kama or Ain Soph. Raw, elemental, primordial 22 tracks / 100 minutes of the original ritual retrieved from 1996-1999 DAT-tapes. The layout is executed by Mauro Berchi (Eibon Records). A 300 2CD edition of Chöd's legacy in a 4-panel matte-laminated Digipak.. $14.67

CHVE - Rasa CD (Consouling Sounds: Soul059)
Colin H. van Eeckhout is best known when he is surrounded by kindred his spirits in sludge/post metal outfit, Amenra, but now he steps into the limelight on his own, solely using a hurdy gurdy and his voice as instruments to dig deep within his own self.
This is CHVE at his most vulnerable. Just a man, his thoughts, scars and memories, with his voice and his instrument. The album is magnificently produced by Dehn Sora (Treha Sektori, Sembler Deah), and brings long soundscapes capturing in ambient and droning sounds, what lies beyond what can be grasped by words.
CHVE started to build his album out of an empty void. He built layer upon layer, and rebuilt and reconstructed to complete his universe called RASA. The album ended up somewhere between folk, drone and ritual. But above all, the album is a conquest, a meditation and it offers an inward journey, between grief and tears.
Art and packaging design by the unimitable Dehn Sora.. $11.33

Circular - Radiating Perpetual Light (LOKI: LOKI59)

Cisfinitum - O vs 0 (Old Captain: OCCD07)
The debut album by charismatic Eugeny Voronovsky and his enigmatic project Cisfinitum "O vs 0" is re-released on CD after 15 years of its cryptic lurking in the dark. True minimal post industrial analogue sound. Recorded circa 1998, this is a unique archival work - a lunatic and lo-fi album with a distinct industrial aftertaste. It is kept unremastered and its pristine condition hints at obvious hisses, noises, clicks, abrupt frequency amplifications and sporadic channel drops. Approach the record with caution, play it not too loud to reveal its morbid charm, which is extreme simplicity that hurts. For the lovers of Archon Satani and No Festival of Light. Climax Denial - Dehumanizing Environments CD (Malignant: TumorCD88)
Lurking just at the edge of the shadows for over a decade, Milwaukee's Climax Denial has been honing his brand of psychosexual, obsessive and fetish driven power electronics across a broad spectrum of tape, vinyl and CD releases on labels such as Urashima, Hospital Productions, Nil By Mouth, among others. It seemed only natural that he would eventually find a home on Malignant for his second full length CD recording, though compared to some of the prior releases, this is perhaps one of the most restrained and refined. And yet, even within a more atmospheric realm, Dehumanizing Environments is about as unnerving and depravity filled as anything Climax Denial has recorded; 4 lengthy tracks of nihilistic pulsations and glassy drones that build to Penderecki levels of dread and tension, registering feelings of claustrophobia and desperate voyeurism as exploratory tones and slow, throbbing synth textures come eerily forth. You're fully immersed by the time vocals finally make an appearance late on track 3, and the soft whispers remind you, there's someone behind the wall at all times, watching with prying eyes and waiting with baited breath. A firmly cohesive and intensive release that circumnavigates the normal trappings of sexually themed power electronics genre and represents a unique and frightening vision only Climax Denial can deliver.Limited 500 copies in 6 panel digipak with outstanding illustrations and design by Andre Coelho, mastered by John Stillings of Steel Hook Audio. Run time: 47 minutes.
"Dehumanizing Environments is a complex, varied work that emphasizes both disorder and structure, coming together in a nuanced, diverse approach that results in a high water mark for aggressive electronic music". Brainwashed.com

Cloak of Altering - Manifestation CD (Crucial Blast: CBR114)
One of many offshoots / alter-egos of the notorious Dutch industrial black metal outfit Gnaw Their Tongues, Cloak Of Altering returns to deliver the follow-up to the maniacal 2014 album Plague Beasts, unleashing yet another brain-scrambling blast of mutated symphonic black metal, nightmarish breakcore madness, and hellish electronics fused together into a sweat-soaked, chrome-plated nightmare. Compared to previous works, the seven-song Manifestation is a slightly less chaotic monstrosity, giving these blackened maelstroms added room to breathe, but the cumulative assault of Cloak Of Altering's sound on the band's fourth album continues to thoroughly scorch the listener. The sound is still rooted in a bizarre confluence of majestic synth-drenched black metal, skewed industrial heaviness, and fractured Planet Mu-esque electronic music, seemingly as informed by the hallucinatory throes of early Coil and the violent breakcore of Bong-Ra and Venetian Snares as it is by classic Nordic black metal. Strange contrapuntal riffs weave drunkenly amid crackling electronic glitch and eerie drones. Mournful synthscapes unfold across glacial rhythms and distorted doom-laden dirges. Blasts of foul, industrialized death metal pummel erupt alongside ominous piano figures and swells of sickening orchestral dissonance. Swarms of blackened tremolo riffage sweep across sputtering malfunctioning rhythms and strange electronic accoutrements. One notable difference from the previous album: the vocals, which here often take form here as a vile, guttural robotic croak, a sickeningly putrid android presence that is layered among the rest of the distant shrieks, anguished screams and chilling, garbled cries that all feel as if they are trying to escape the bowels of some nightmarish AI system. And as always, Cloak Of Altering balances all of this confusional, electronically-deformed madness with some strikingly beautiful and majestically bleak melodic passages, with blasts of bombastic, heavily atmospheric synthesizer roaring across songs like "Parasitic Altering Sickness" and "Hidden Celestial Deity". An arresting, alien album that violently mutates these strands of symphonic black metal DNA into a stranger and more complex strain of digital delirium.. $10.00

Cloak of Altering - Plague Beasts (Crucial Blast: CBR106)
Although most would probably best know Dutch avant-metal madman Mories for his notorious blackened industrial/orchestral doom outfit Gnaw Their Tongues, he's also been involved with a number of projects that one could describe as being rooted in a much more recognizable "black metal" sound. One of 'em is Cloak Of Altering, a project that Mories started in 2011 as a continuation of his earlier black metal band Ophiuchus. The previous Cloak Of Altering albums explored Mories's fascination with the early symphonic black metal of In the Nightside Eclipse-era Emperor and Arcturus's early efforts, as well as the more fiendish and fractured forms of industrial black metal as practiced by the likes of Dødheimsgard. Each new release has moved deeper into stranger and more mutated realms of electronically-damaged symphonic black metal, though, and with Cloak Of Altering's third album (and first for Crucial Blast) Plague Beasts, Mories delivers a ferocious affront to black metal form and structure, combining his otherworldly strain of sweeping symphonic black metal with bursts of intense electronic chaos, waves of nebulous synthesizer and spastic rhythmic violence that, at times, feels more like something you'd hear off of a Planet Mu 12".
As with most of his other projects (Gnaw Their Tongues, Aderlating, De Magia Veterum, Seirom, etc.), this deforms aspects of black metal into something even more surreal, but where the likes of Gnaw Their Tongues feature heavy use of orchestral sounds, the seven songs on Plague Beasts showcase a much more pronounced use of synthesizers. The melodies that seethe and swarm throughout the album at times resemble some twisted nightmare version of prog rock keyboard freak-outs, or vintage 16-bit game soundtracks being fused to the gristle and graveyard stink of second wave black metal. As soon as opener Plague Beasts kicks in, the album begins it's pummeling assault of churning programmed drumming and nuclear rhythmic chaos, unleashing volleys of violent machinegun-like blastbeats and skull-crushing gabber kicks beneath a baleful swarm of frostbitten blackened riffs, spiteful howling vocals sinking into the underlying layers of orchestral murk. You can definitely pick up on Mories's signature use of horrific orchestral sounds, but those elements are submerged beneath the fuzz-enshrouded black metal riffs and those swirling elliptical synths, melting those epic symphonic black metal influences into a psychotic cyborg stew of washed-out trip-hop rhythms, garbled discordant tremolo riffs, bizarre gurgling vocals, and swells of stunning, almost shoegazey majesty that suddenly wash over the music, imbuing it for a moment with a luminous black glow of aching apocalyptic beauty. On other tracks like "White Inverted Void", the album shifts into glitch-damaged electro-black metal epics roiling with crazed synthesizer arpeggios and complex keyboard melodies, while "Ash666urA" lurches like some utterly malformed breakcore monstrosity, all slow motion lurch and spasm, discordant sour riffage and those guttural putrid vocals rolling into passages of strange twilight eeriness. There are blasts of hellish nightmare ambience woven into mutant blackened drum n' bass spasms ("Into Celestial Hell") and assaults of atmospheric black metal grandeur infested with splintered, ultra-violent junglist rhythms reminiscent of artists like Shitmat and Venetian Snares ("Altering Forever"). And on "Translucent Body Deformities" and "Chaos Magician Of The Abyss", lush layers of gleaming synthesizer and orchestral strings are draped over rabid mechanized blasts and mosquito-buzz guitars, forming into some strange fusion of early Nordic black metal fury and the baroque soundtrack work of Keith Emerson, the drums locking up into stuttering, broken rhythms and glitched-out pandemonium.
More than anything else from Mories, this stuff is closest in spirit to the malevolent necro-industrial and fractured drug-fueled machine-ecstasies of bands like Aborym, Blacklodge, Dodheimsgard, Mysticum, and Abigor. But as with anything that this guy is involved with, Plague Beasts seethes with a deliriously demonic atmosphere entirely its own. Comes in six-panel digipack packaging.

Combative Alignment - ...and Outside Glows the Red Dawn (Malignant: TumorCD24)
Those that peruse the Malignant catalog on a regular basis, should have no trouble recognizing Combative Alignment, for they’ve been a highly touted fixture since their first release, the Everlasting Sun 10”" on their own label, Avatar. After several releases, including an LP on LOKI, and a 7”" on Eternal Soul, it is with great honor and pride that we present ’And Outside Glows the Red Dawn’, the first full length CD from this powerful and visionary German project. And Outside Glows the Red Dawn can perhaps be seen as Combative Alignment’s benchmark recording, offering 6 tracks that work as a virtual musical thoroughfare to a more dreamlike, illusory state. Deeply brooding atmospheres, where omniscient layers of drones and reverberating sound currents meet measured, ritual percussion as performed under the glowing, gloomy haze of a primordial sunrise. And Outside Glows the Red Dawn shines a dim light on a world of obscure origin, full of dark Germanic mysticism and unearthly sonic terrain. Concrete Mascara - Perennial Disappointment CD (Malignant: TumorCD93)
Since 2011, Concrete Mascara have been sharpening their skills across various formats and releases, pushing the envelope of intensity and extremity as they quickly ascended the ranks of American power electronic acts. Perennial Disappointment marks their Malignant debut and their second full length disc following 2014’s Blossoms of Shame on France’s Corrosive Arts Records. The sheer violence of this recording is astounding, and it stands as one of the most unnerving and visceral releases ever under the Malignant banner. From the dystopic atmosphere of opener “Flesh of This World” and post mortem ambience of “Mouth of Flies, Tongue of Maggots”, to the traumatizing and unmitigated physicality of “Utopian Nightmare”, “Defined by Absence” or “Delusion of Sacrifice” Perennial Disappointment is rife with urgency and tension, where caustic, distortion filled frequencies meet slashing, blown out noise, hyper-rhythmic pulsations, and venomous, dueling vocals. Collectively, it’s a perfectly engineered and concise declaration of arrival that should be a revelation for those that consider the genre to be one dimensional and stagnant. In jewel box with 6 panel booklet, designed by Si Clark. Lmtd 500.. $10.67

Con-Dom - How Welcome Is Death To I Who Have Nothing More to Do But Die CD (Tesco: Tesco102)
First full length of new material from Con-Dom since 2001's epic Colour of Man's Skin release finds little deviation from the same unique brand of experimental power electronics he's created since the mid-80s; stark, unpolished, and aggressive, but innovative and never overtly harsh, incorporating samples, lyrics that contain critical thought, and an overall feeling of corrosion and decay.
How seldom do we look on death on the dead - really look in the flesh close up and on the dying before the death the living death. welcome and observe - take 'a look' close up and personal through the eyes and ears that knew that know this is what it comes to, yes, face it. Death and before it the dying will come to us all but on whose terms the few – fortunate – may be spared the dying the many will endure its ever tightening grip psychological torment physical humiliation before the ultimate merciful release.
I want to die with dignity at a time and in a manner of my own choosing who in their right mind would wish anything less. Have we forgotten the pioneering German initiative of 75 years ago, the lessons we might learn - have we failed to embrace the potential of the Swiss way for a swift return to that inevitable nothing?
More futility cannot be imagined than that of the cursed humanto come from nothing to live as nothing to die as less than nothing to return to nothingdo – can – we fully comprehend the mind of a dying human of a human seemingly robbed of sanity as we understand it – imperfectly – of physical capacities as we know thembut how can we possibly comprehend until we become that human and we too are looked upon by a son whose eyes saydie just fuckin die for you have no point no purpose no life neither for yourself or me or for anyone else. $15.66

Con-Dom/Militia - Scorched Earth Policy CD (Old Europa Café: OECD047)
A nice move on the part of Old Europa Café to re-issue this long out of print cassette from many years ago. Now completely re-mastered by Frank Gorissen of Militia, this comes roaring from the speakers in all it’s glory. Six tracks of full throttle brutality from Con-Dom to start things up, unleashing the typical fury associated with his work; rough discordant noise, squelching feedback, and writhing heavy electronics with processed vocals. Includes the Euro smash Power is Nothing Without Control, plus Utterly Devoid of Faith, All is Fair in Love and War, Buchers Call to Arms and more. The Militia material is representative of earlier work, as found on the New European Order 3 LP…less percussion based (though still prevalent)_ and more atmospheric, pulsating with the raw machine energy they’re known for. Industrial music the way it was meant to be. Includes 2 live, previously unreleased tracks from their very first gig.. $12.33

Contemplatron & Shentz - His Master's Voice CD (Wrotycz: WRT025)
"His Master's Voice" (original Polish title: "Glos Pana") is a science fiction novel by Stanislaw Lem, first published in 1968. It is a densely philosophical first-contact story about scientific efforts to decode, translate, and understand an extraterrestrial transmission. The novel can also be read as a critique of human intelligence and intentionality in the context of deciphering a message from outer space which forever eludes comprehension. Chaos is the primordial source that cosmically resounds in the microwave background radiation across the universe. To find sequences in this cacophonous confusion, to discover its principles and understand them, only to die holding on to a scrap of something much larger - this is what Lem's book as well as its apocryphical soundtrack are about. The abstract sound layers were created by two Polish artists from Contemplatron (dark ritual ambient) and Shentz (noise), and mastered by Peter Andersson (Raison d'être). 6-panel digipak.. $11.00

Control - Deadly Sins (Malignant: TumorCD48)
11 years after making his debut on Malignant side label, Black Plague, the legendary Control returns home to roost, with another pulverizing display of power. 7 tracks, thematically centered around the 7 deadly sins (with each track clocking in at the 7 minute), originally released as lmtd CDr for the Elektroanschlag 11 festival. There is no atonement here, nor redemption offered. Just cold, jarring currents of massively built power electronics and horror filled death industrial, full of clamoring factory debris, razor sharp sheets of sonic violence, and grisly metallic grind, rounded out with Garrison's trademark vocal devastation. In 4 panel digipak, designed by John Balistreri of Slogun.. $9.00

Control - In Harm's Way CD (Ant-Zen: Act330)
After a successful European tour in 2013 which was played in connection with the 'Transgression' album and which was documented on a cassette release, Thomas Garrison a.k.a. Control continued working on new sound material which is now available and which will be also introduced live in several appearances all over Europe.
With 'In Harm's Way', Control and Ant-Zen present a set of consistently forceful tracks by one of the most recognized representatives of the death industrial / power electronics genre. this album represents a perfect equilibration of organic heat and machine iciness, executed with skin deep emotion and surgical precision. well-structured profound pulsation take turns with menacing dark ambient parts and severe noisescapes strengthened by frenzied vocal interactions.. $13.66

Control - The Means to an End (Eibon: Con055)
Another solid effort from Control, offering up 9 tracks of scorching, multi-layered, ultra gritty power electronics. Lots of grinding machine noises amidst the thick, hulking frequencies, all equipped with that textbook sinister edge that dominates the Control sound. As always, tortured vocals rip through the mix. I know I say this with every Control CD, but he really does seem to get better with each release.. $12.00

Control - The Resistance (Ant-Zen: Act270)
Control on Ant-Zen? That, at least on paper, seems out of place, but I guess Thomas has been embraced by the "oontz-oontz" crowd, and that's certainly good for him. But, for the p.e. purists, rest assured, Thomas has not sold out, and there are no beats here. The Resistance is however, his "cleanest" sounding release, but it's also one of his best - surgically precise and razor sharp, with cold currents of dark, atmospheric noise slicing through pulsating loops and swarms of shuddering, machine ambience and nightmarish, cinematic scenarios. Non-processed vocals this time around add texture, but keep the intensity level intact. Recommended, always!. $13.50

Control - Transgression (Ant-Zen: Act299)
'Transgression' represents Control's second appearance on Ant-Zen after the highly regarded 'The Resistance' release in 2012. On this album Thomas Garrison remains loyal to his significant, unique approach of power electronics and death industrial, ready and willing to penetrate the open listener's mind and body.
The eight album tracks convey drastic, mesmeric atmospheres carried by the perfect balance between harsh sonic outbursts and accentuated subbass pulses. Sharp noise layers are accompanied by seething dark ambiance, subliminal rhythms and the distinctive, arcane vocals control is well-known for.
While listening to 'Transgression' you will find yourself captured inside an inescapable web of varied moods and feelings which can only be intensified by the experience of a Control live performance. $13.50

Control Resistance - Declaration 1994-2011 (Freak Animal: CRFA01)
Re-stock! A compilation of the complete works of extreme power electronics act Control Resistance with tracks from various compilation appearances, their 1998 10" on Power & Steel, a Con-Dom track featuring source material, as well as a killer brand new track. And when I say extreme, I don't necessarily mean musically - this is very much in the Ex.Order vein of things - more atmospheric than noise, with volatile and agitating analogue pulsations and probing frequency drones accompanied by provocative, processed vocals and samples. Ideologically speaking, this is pretty far right and will certainly offend anyone previously offended by Brethren, Deathkey and the like. Regardless of what you think of their politics though, this is really excellent material from a time when power electronics was really at it's peak.. $9.00

Coph Nia - Qliphothic Phantasmagoria CDEP (Wrotycz: WRT008)
It's hardly news to any connoisseur of Industrial music that Coph Nia like to cover songs. So far they have quite a cover track record. They've transformed The Leather Nun's punk anthem “Prime Mover” into a brooding, industrial soundscape, and made songs by artists as diverse as Front 242, Bauhaus, Arthur Brown and The Rolling Stones their own.One danger of covering songs is that you might end up as a covers band. This is especially dangerous if you cover songs by, say, The Rolling Stones, as you might just end up on the rock cover band circuit – playing 'Sweet Home Alabama' in dodgy rock pubs and biker meets in places God has been drinking to forget ever since he created them.On the other end of the scale, but equally degrading, is to end up as wedding singers. Remember that really unfunny Adam Sandler movie? If you think that Coph Nia has too much class to end up en either category, well, let’s say you have too much faith in the band. Coph Nia are already a bit too familiar with playing gigs in dodgy pubs, and they’ve even played at a wedding (well, it was a stag party, but it was definitely wedding-related).So in a desperate attempt to not end up having to provide the soundtrack to bikers picking up underage chicks or obscure uncles doing moves from Saturday Night Fever, Coph Nia have decided to take the demon by the horns, and tried to exorcise the Cover Demon before it consumes them. The result is this release. This collection of Coph Nia-fied covers including Ozzy Osbourne’s ”Mr Crowley”, the song Mr. Aldenon’s band was born to cover, “Black Sabbath” by the band of the same name, “Sick Things” by Alice Cooper and “Levitation” by psychedelic space rockers Hawkwind.Hopefully, the exorcism will work. If not, you know where to look for Coph Nia in a few years. PS: If you need a band for your wedding, Coph Nia can be reached through their website.. $6.66

Costin Chioreanu & Special Guests - The Quest For A Morning Star CD (Avantegarde: AV273)
Costin Chioreanu is a well-known and highly respected graphic artist who has done work for At The Gates, Arch Enemy, Napalm Death, Arcturus, Darkthrone, Mayhem, Ulver and many others. A musician himself, he has collaborated with various artists to create “soundtracks” to accompany his exhibitions in the past. The Quest For a Morning Star was put together as a sorrowful homage to the 63 lives lost to a fire at the Club Colectiv in Bulgaria, with all proceeds and money raised going to help the victims of the tragic event. For this release, he has recruited the likes of David Tibet (CURRENT 93), Rune Eriksen “Blasphemer” (ex-Mayhem guitarist), Attila Csihar (Mayhem) and Mirai Kawashima (from SIGH) to create a stunning both musically and visually. Marvelous, intimate and obscure soundtrack-like music that’s layered and complex. At times, this is dramatic and tense, other times, much more solemn and introspective. Either way, the composition and pacing is spot on and commendable.A5 digipack with booklet. Handnumbered, limited to 300 copies.. $12.67

C.O.T.A. - New Mythologies (Sonik Sorcery/Tesco: Sonic06)
It's been 10 years since the last C.O.T.A. release, and a whopping 18 years since they first appeared with their acclaimed Terra-ist cassette. At that time, you could lump them together with budding eco-centric tribal/ritual acts such as Life Garden and Voice of Eye, but that as a genre never really developed beyond those few acts and for the most part, ceased to exist for a number of years. Voice of Eye has resurfaced nicely, and now C.O.T.A. follows suit. So, here we have fresh recorded material in the same vein as the first 2 CDs - ritual atavistic music encompassing tribal drumming, more primitive percussion and organic instrumentation, and chanting shaman vocals, with select tracks moving into psychedelic, yet still song structured "folksy pop territory". This release encompasses a carefully crafted blend of material recorded over the last seven years. It takes off where "Ta'wil" and "Marches and Meditations" left off and spirals into a new mix of post-urban audio journeys. This release presents ideas and sounds that attempt to address humankind's struggle to come to terms with the new dichotomies between the local and the global and our shared relationship with nature. it is a reintroduction of an old way of living into the global village, to build a new sustainability and mutual understanding.. $12.00

Cronaca Nera - Carne E Carnefice CD (Old Europa Café: OECD226)
Cronaca Nera (“Black Chronicle” in English) is a three-headed Italian Industrial Power-Electronics Monster featuring Adriano Vincenti (Macelleria Mobile di Mezzanotte) , Giovanni Mori (Le Cose Bianche), and Andrea Chiaravalli (Iugula-Thor).Initially born as a side project of Macelleria Mobile di Mezzanotte in 2000, the project put out several releases until 2001, then fell silent for 15 years until it's rebirth after a meeting by Adriano Vincenti and Giovanni Mori (Le Cose Bianche). An homage to the electronics sounds of the 90s, especially the Italian one, the project immediately focused on a criminal imaginary made of extreme sex, crime, provincial squalor, erotic and pornographic obsessions. Exclusive use of analog machines of that era plus, an obsessive attention for the faithful reproduction of those '90s sounds. In 2015, Andrea Chiaravalli / Iugula-Thor became officially a Cronaca Nera member, and the recording sessions for Carne e Carnefice (“Meat and Executioner” in English) began. Cronaca Cera consider themselves as the heirs of Atrax Morgue, Mauthausen Orchestra, Murder Corporation, Iugula-Thor, The Sodality, Project Death, Dead Body love, Sado Vision, Sshe Retina Stimulants.
