One of three re-issues of this legendary harsh noise unit Macronympha, published at the same time to give a diverse presentation of the Macro sound. Considered by many to be Macronympha's best tape, this is two long tracks of crashing wreckage, utilizing scrap metal, loops, high end shrieks, low end rumble, mid-level crunch and all points in between. A relentless onslaught of listenable destruction. Mastered directly from original master tapes. With black/white artwork in jewelbox, reprinting original covers." - Industrial Recollections.. $14.99

Macronympha - Baroque
(Industrial Recollections: IR-Macro02)
 |
One of three re-issues of this legendary harsh noise unit Macronympha, published at the same time to give a diverse presentation of the Macro sound. Baroque was originally intended to be released on SFCR/Armed and Loaded, but that never materialized and so it was released on cassette and ltd to 100 copies. Huge, roiling noise scapes here - corrosive and crunchy as hell, with scrap metal clangs colliding head on with low-end rumble, loops, cut-ups, psychedelic free form madness, and electronic screeching. Sound from master tapes, with black/white artwork in jewelbox, reprinting original covers. Industrial Recollections.. $14.99

One of three re-issues of this legendary harsh noise unit Macronympha, published at the same time to give a diverse presentation of the Macro sound. Notes From Underground offers the more straight forward rumbling distorted noise assault. Mastered directly from original master tapes. With black/white artwork in jewelbox, reprinting original covers.". $14.99

Maeror Tri - Language of Flames and Sound
(Old Europa Café: OECD008)
 |
Here is the second pressing of Maeror Tri's 1996 album Language Of Flames And Sound, which has long been noted for the brain-shaped packaging (faithfully restored in the second edition) and also has the distinction as being Maeror Tri's noisiest recording. This German trio began in the early '90s as a bleak, Dark Ambient project that brought a simple, if elegant use of effects-driven melodies to post-industrial noisescapes proposed by the Hafler Trio, Lustmord, and Illusion of Safety. While there are plenty of drawn out periods of flanging drones, spectral hiss, and those evanescent melodies which have become the trademark for the post-Maeror Tri project Troum, Language Of Flames And Sound brutally slams down on the distortion boxes, turning these languid, pseudo-Goth drones into thickened buzzsaws of melodic guitar noise that's not all that far from where black metal has progressed in recent years. An album like this should also make Aidan Baker blush as so many of these sounds have been mirrored in Najda. Throughout these megawatt explosions of radioactive noise splattering the all-consuming, ever dark ambience, Maeror Tri set down grinding loops of mekanoid pulsations that get at the band's Industrial roots. Manifest - Reunion Psyche CDr
(Shadowgraph: Shadow03)
 |
Delirious, surreal atmospheres filled with disembodied female voices and sounds, forged in an almost fractured, collaged manner with haunting melodies and creepy, nightmare infused noises drifting in and out of the mix. Hard to find a real comparison here, but there’s definitely a nod to the dada-istic sound manipulation of Nurse With Wound.. $10.66

Martin Bladh - Dirge; The Peter Sotos Files
(Freak Animal: FreakCD42)
 |
A collage of junk metal sounds, burrowing frequencies, and minimalistic uneasy atmospheres courtesy of Martin Bladh of IRM with samples & spoken word from controversial author Peter Sotos. As you might expect, not for the timid nor easily offended. Here's what Martin had to say about this: "While I was working on the swedish translation of Peter's excellent book Selfish, Little: The Annotated Lesley Ann Downey, I found that I couldn't get enough of this unsafe, highly personal world, and got the ugly idea to make my own piece based upon it. Since I love the Buyer's Market material I asked Peter for the permission to do a recording centered on his private universe. He agreed and sent me a load of sound- and video clips, which he'd collected and put into context. I guess it's fair to call this album a conceptual piece, but I want to point out that it is foremost my own personal take on Peter's work and he should not be held responsible for anything I've done.". $14.66

Matt Borghi - The Phantom Light
(Hypnos: HSS27)
 |
The Phantom Light is the third release in Hypnos' Matt Borghi reissue series. Originally issued in an edition of only 30 copies in 2006, this Hypnos Secret Sounds reissue will be the first opportunity for this recording to be heard by most Borghi listeners. The four long pieces exhibit Borghi's characteristic simplicity and restraint. Matt says: The Phantom Light is a work that’s comprised four compositions with titles derived from some of the most remote lighthouses on the northern Great Lakes. The works are inspired by sailor’s tales of being adrift on The Great Lakes during storms, and catastrophic weather. Sailors, looking out on the horizon for a sign of life, a light of hope, aimed their ships towards the safety of these phantom lighthouses hoping to get to a safe harbor. Often times these phantom lighthouses just lead to a rocky shoal and a watery death. These “phantom” lights have been a thing of myth for as long as The Great Lakes freshwater seas have been sailed. In many ways, The Phantom Light is a sequel to Huronic Minor, as Great Lakes lore, and Matt Borghi’s own experiences on The Great Lakes were the creative impetus for this work. Peaceful and delicate ambient soundscapes, with slowly shifting pastoral textures and drones.. $5.00

Maurizio Bianchi - MB & Craig Hilton: PU94
(Silentes: SME0926)

Here at last is a deserved and “rightful” CD re-release of this collaboration created in 2007 by Maurizio Bianchi and Craig Hilton. Until now this recording was only made available in a very limited CD-R edition. Extremely dark atmospheres, restless and dramatic, with shimmering masses of metallic noises, showers of vibrant frequencies, and pulsating substrates of low frequencies, mixed with magmatic agglomerates of more processed sounds of an unrecognizable nature.. $13.77

Maurizio Bianchi/Atrax Morgue - M. Plus T.
(Silentes: SME0825)
 |
Just before leaving this world in 2007, Marco Corbelli (Atrax Morgue) made a series of recordings in collaboration with the old Italian master of pre-industrial culture Maurizio Bianchi (MB). The end result is this devastating album, centred around morbid themes of 'mord' and 'tot'. "Germinal murders... A betulinic bath of hydrocloric acid... Coprological Isomorphism... It is with deep grief that... Terminal death!". $13.33

Mauthausen Orchestra - Digression
(Silentes: SME1040)
 |
Pierpaolo Zopp / Mauthausen Orchestra returns with a new album comprised of one 40 minute track where the fury and aggressiveness of his usually harsh sonorities of a Noise/Power-Electronics nature are merged with quieter, more disorienting parts of wavering frequencies, unexpected rhythmic pulsations, and cosmic, synthesizer drift.. $13.50

Mauthausen Orchestra - Sonic Deprivation

Mauthausen Orchestra/Nimh - From Unhealthy Places

McKaras - Right to Stay Bestial!
(Autarkeia: ACD032)
 |
The tracks of the album Right to Stay Bestial! have been recorded at least thirteen years ago. It travelled through the hands of lovers of dark electronics, among the Lithuanian underground people, in the form of a re-recorded CDr. Everyone admired the depressing atmosphere, spite and sterile aggression of this disc. Today, the album author McKaras (McWAR) newly interpreted the old tracks, complemented them with a number of various samples and produced a new master. The results is an esp. fine, newly sounding album, the style of which can hardly be defined. Some may think it is hard techno, yet dancing is hardly possible to this rhythmic music. Gloomy atmosphere, aggressive rhythms, psychedelic loops will push the audience into heavy criminal and politically incorrect mood. The album is ideally suited for listening in the car driven towards criminal purposes. However, bear in mind the punishment, will you? Mckaras is to techno as Darkthrone is to black metal perhaps?? Lmtd, 300 copies, designed by K. Olson (Survival Unit). $4.00

Medusa's Spell - Last X Hours
(Cold Meat Industry: CMI186)
 |
Back in stock! The Italian duo Medusas Spell is back with their second album after the Mercurial Behaviour released on Cold Meat in 2006. Last X hours is also a conceptual album, this time following the ten last tragic hours of a woman who stands accused for witchery. Ten songs, each representing one hour of her last ten in life, from the moments of the trial, - when her body is completely exhausted from pain - until her mind resigned to her fate of death. The lyrics of the first and the last song is a curse! - the true words spoken by a woman falsely accused of witchery and condemned to death in 1428. The witch of Medusas Spell is however a symbolic woman representing all women condemned as witches. By infernal torments and torture her mind and tongue slowly converts to the Devil
and her voice becomes finally the voice of the Devil. Medusas Spell has again created a genuine acoustic ritual dark-folk concept album full of beautiful melodies and lush atmospheres. I haven't listened to their first album in ages, but this sounds much better than I expected or remembered. Should appeal to fans of Rome, ORE, etc. $14.50

Medusa's Spell - Mercurial Behavior
(Cold Meat Industry: CMI155)
Mercurial Behaviour is a conceptual album on which every "act" represents the confused thoughts and visions of a murderer.Lyrics and words are rearranged in different ways and moments to create a hypnotic mantra leading us in different directions and states of emotions; all intertwined through a soft and haunting dark atmosphere created by piano, acoustic guitar, bells, industrial sounds, loops and of course that broken Italian psychotic voice of Daniele Serra.Medusa's Spell is a filmic dark-ambient-pop project of Mara Lasi and Daniele Serra, known from the parallel project Chirleison (amongst others) who released a CD on Fossil Dungeon in 2004.The album was recorded and engineered by the legendary Simon Balestrazzi (TAC, Kirlian Camera) at the Neurohabitat studio.. $6.00
Megaptera - Disturbance Ritual
(Vendlus: Vend015)
Megaptera rises again from the murky depths where it was biding its time during last year's prolific release campaign by its alter ego, Negru Voda. 2006 marks Megapteras 15th anniversary it will also be the year when it finally lays down for the eternal sleep. The mission is terminated - but what better way to honor the memory of the departed than with a powerful live statement? "Disturbance Ritual" has everything that 1998's "Live In Rostock" lacked: a track listing that reads like a best-of collection, supreme engineering and mastering qualities, and not least an edition that will allow more than a chosen few to grab a copy. Those who never had the chance to attend a Megaptera concert are here invited to share the experience; to witness how the live version of the songs are enhanced by additional film samples and improvised percussion. Which was always the very essence of Megaptera: a transcendental place were the fictitious world of cinema and the drab monotony of industrialized life blend together, if only for the duration of an album. Oppressively dark, cavernous, nightmarish sounds
.in other words, classic Megaptera. Track listing: More Disturbance, Sleep, Shadow Land, Dont Desecrate the Dead, and Final Day. $13.00
Megaptera - Staring Back At You

Meixner, SR - The Dictatorship of the Viewer
(Fin De Siecle: FDSCD15)
From the ashes of leading experimental outfit Contrastate comes the self-namedsrmeixner project. Stephen Meixner was one half of the driving force behindContrastate until their demise five years ago, and his latest project is a vehiclefor him and various collaborators; the line-up is ever changing, with Stephen callingon whoever he feels is right for the music he is working on at any particular time.Meixners contributions to Contrastate are somewhat obvious here, as a lot of these tracks operate on a similar wavelength
alluring and hypnotic tones and textures, perhaps with a more experimental and ever so slight cut up approach, and less sinister than Contrastate could be. This unravels nicely, flowing as one track, evolving over time, growing quiet, then building up. Heres what Meixner had to say about it:"This piece takes its title from the 2003 Venice Biennale. The show was composed of different projects, each with its own identity and autonomy highlighting various contemporary social and political global concerns. Each project was supposed to reveal a cross section of the world's realities which could be used as an open map by the viewer to create their own individual experiences, giving the viewer control over how and when they visited each project. The title intrigued me, as did the concept. Utilising these I have recorded one track composed of various sub sections. Each has its own identity, yet all are linked together by virtue of the mixing process and the central themes; autonomy and control. Each sub section has been given a track number. Listeners can listen to the CD in the order I have arranged, create their own order by pre-programming their CD player or use the random function to programme the order in which the tracks will be heard. The very idea of designing the Venice Biennale to give the viewer control immediately poses an obvious conflict between the viewer and artist. In what way was the viewer empowered? It seemed to me that the only choice the viewer had was where to start and where to finish. The power was still with the artists in that they dictated what went into their projects, not the viewer. I wonder how many people will actually pre-programme this CD in their order of preference. The whole concept also reminded me of the initial arguments surrounding the World Wide Web. Empowerment, liberating, individual, autonomous, etc. Yet today the words that have become synonymous with the World Wide Web are Microsoft, access denied, spam, virus, etc. The core of this track was initially composed and structured as a live piece which was first performed February 2004 in London and then later extended, added to and re-worked. $4.00
Mekanorganik - How to Extract Sunlight From Cucumbers
(Neuropa: NRP26)
 |
'How To Extract Sunlight From Cucumbers' is the debut album of the Belgian post industrial music formation MekanOrganiK, featuring three members of the well-known industrial percussion band MILITIA: Frank Gorissen, Sandra Janssen and Frank Van Hoof. They play rhythmic music using a combination of conventional instruments (percussion, guitar, effects, sequencer, wind instruments...) mixed with tools, machines and 'organic materials' such as wood, water, sand, stones, bones and skulls, glass and even cucumbers. The music of the album is based on the adventures of Lemuel Gulliver, the main character in Jonathan Swift's book 'Gulliver's Travels', which is a great and sophisticated satire of human nature based on Swift's experience of his times. 'Gulliver's Travels' is an anatomy of human nature and society and so is the music of MekanOrganiK. Stylistically, expect some resemblance at times to Militia (particularly in the sort of pulsating, rhythmic churn displayed in periodic tracks, such as Air Turbulence Machine, This Forest is Floating, or Biomechanoid), though this comes off as ultimately more experimental and psychedelic, offering a somewhat bizarre collection of textures, percussion, and noises. That being said, this has a great, hypnotic flow that begs to be listened to from start to finish. A nice companion to Militia, particularly when Neuropa has promised new work from them in the coming year. Cool, eh? I'm actually jealous.. $14.99

Melek-Tha - Apokalypsia
(Necrocosm: Necro004)
 |
Not new, but one we missed the first time around. The formula's been established, so if you've heard other Melek-Tha releases, than you pretty much know what to expect - dark and sinister apocalyptic sounds, with ominous orchestral tones and hellish atmospheres. At least parts of this are more ambient than some of the other stuff I remember hearing from Lord Evil, and for the most part, it really works. I'm not entirely sure why Melek-Tha doesn't get a lot of respect - maybe it's the sample heavy nature and blatant plagariasm of their early years, but I can't find too much at fault with this stuff.. $11.00

Merzbow - Camouflage
(Essence Music: ESS012)
 |
The elemental excitement for each new Merzbow album remains intact among us here and, after four long years, the undisputable master returns to Essence Music with a new installment of his unique brand of harsh psychedelic noise assault.A bit distant from Sha Mo 3000s pulsing, often rhythmic strategies or the recent albums featuring freestyle drums by Masami Akita himself, Camouflage plays by the more straight MERZBOW rules, going back to his comfort zone of audio barbarism. We salute the ferocious torrents of abused, imploding and exploding electronics, the sharp, pulverizing and abrasive high frequencies and the unrelenting punishment of frenzied throbbing machine-screams witnessed in the controlled cacophonic environment of Camouflage!Presented in our deluxe, sturdy gatefold mini-LP packaging featuring intriguing psychedelic collages by Mr. Akita. Limited to 800 copies.. $6.00

Merzbow - Marmo
(Old Europa Café: OECD131)
 |
After two vinyl releases, Merzbow returns to the digital spectrum with this latest album entitled "Marmo" (Marble for Italian), having been influenced by his trips to Italy (particularly Venice) and it's prolific use of marble in their architecture. 3 tracks of ultra-psychedelic and far out noise, with spasmodic eruptions of glitchy, fractured "rhythms" and cascading tonal fluctuations.. $14.50
|
Mezire - Corrosion Effects
(Rustblade: RBL009)
 |
I liked the 3inch CDr on L-White so much (that not enough of you bought btw), that I thought it worth hunting down of Mezire's earlier works, this full length one being from 2007. Heavy, well, heavy electronics, with fat, agitating synth waves rife with pulsating and dangerous distortion, squirming noise, and some killer vocals. Both Navicon and Control came to mind while listening to this, which should stand as an endorsement in and of itself.. $13.33
|
Mezire - Electronic Warfare 3inch CDr
(L-White: LW-58)
 |
5 tracks of German power electronics in the vein of Control and to some degree Ex.Order. Somewhat minimalistic, but heavy and very threatening, with writhing, distortion filled pulsations mixed with some processed vocals and samples and packed with intensity. A great new discovery in a genre that needs some new blood. Recommended!! Lmtd 200, in mini DVD case.. $12.66

(The Eastern Front: Front021)
 |
Apocalyptic Chanson Doctrine". Another, completely different project from Bulgarian artist Dimo Dimov (Svarrogh, Sturmpercht, Allerseelen, Saggitarius). Mika Goedrijk - Looking-Glass World
(Ant-Zen: Act251)
 |
One year after Pellicules, Mika Goedrijk presents the next aural view of his inner self with Looking-Glass World. Musically, the self conceptional shift into the world of ambient idm sounds is evident.Well placed patterns enriched with mellow guitar slides (Dead Air), melancholy piano lines (At the 11th Hour), a distinctive (nearly) Aphex-Twin synth (White Sand Semantics), archaic trumpet calls (Lost Decade), pounding breakbeats with pulsing sub bass (Rusty Swiss Army Knife, Le Grand Mal), make this release a fascinating blend of contemporary electronic tones.Looking-Glass World is an album of otherworldly ambience entwined with a blend of acoustic sounds and sheets of sequenced patterns. A highly aesthetic sonic universe, where moods and mastery melt into warm, repetitive arrangements. Have a look into the looking-glass world.. $13.99
|
Mika Goedrijk - Pellicules
(Ant-Zen: Act221)
 |
First album under his real name for the musician better known as This Morn' Omina. A much more introspect and less dancefloor oriented work, "Pellicules" is a considerable step forward, out of the tribal / trance and dark ambient waters of TMO, and towards a more flowing, nice and modest kind of electronica. The whole thing is still quite dark and has strong industrial undertones, but it is still, in my opinion, a deeper and less straightforward effort than what TMO is or was about. (Nicholas Chevreaux). $7.66

Mike Page - Mike Page
(At War With False Noise: Atwar042)
First "solo" album from the incomparable Mike Page, he of Fire In The Head, Sky Burial etc etc. One lengthy plunge into the depths of carefully-constructed aural extremity, utterly loud and heavy as fuck and utilising as many extremes of tone that you poor lugs can take! Sometimes it all goes a bit quiet and you think there's going to be an extended period of aural respite...until some shrieking high-end comes in and blows away any idea of shelter from the onslaught.. $5.00
Militia - Archive Collection 1996-1997
(Neuropa: NRP27)
 |
The first chapter of Militia's Archive Collection takes us back to their 1996-1997 recordings. Hard to believe it's been 14 years since I first reviewed some of these for Audio Drudge, and while it doesn't have quite the same impact it did back then, they definitely stand the test of time. The disc holds six tracks taken from the monumental 'War Against Society' compilation, the 'Pain/Familiedrama' tracks featuring Con-Dom and Laura Maes and ends with the 'Kingdom Of Our Lord' mcd. All tracks were previously released by the now defunct German cult-label Praxis Dr. Bearmann and serve as a nice appetizer for Militia's upcoming album 'Power, Propaganda, Production!'. For those that need an introduction to the Miltia sound (after all, they haven't been models of productivity the last few years), they are Belgian industrial-percussion group with anarchic leanings, creating intricate and intoxicating soundscapes built around persistent and surging rhythms, samples, vocal proclamations, and layers of electronics and wind instrumentation. An essential piece of industrial nostalgia!!. $14.33

Moctan - Come Closer
(Ant-Zen: Act230)
 |
With 'Come Closer' Andreas Glöckner joins the Ant-Zen racing team for a second time - perpetuating what began years before and what was perfected with 'Suspect'. Still the target Moctan has set is visible: creating a unique synthesis of atmosphere, aggression and rhythm. After starting with the comparatively silent 'Here and Now', Moctan increases speed and activates the supercharger on the subsequent tracks - making you move, just as intended. Titles like 'Come Closer' and 'A New Day' slow down the pace for a well needed pit stop by using dark synths and ceremonial voices which create a hypnotic trance - only to be followed by pulsing floor burners like 'Long Distance Runner' and 'Deja Vu'. After having endured the abrasive noise attack of 'Overkill' the listener will reach the finish line with the heavily grooved remixes by Asche and Bipol.Once again, Moctan has created a perfect balance between hard technoid dance tracks with an industrial feel and disturbing soundscapes - all overlaid with a multitude of unsettling, fierce samples. Come closer - join the race!. $9.99

Monstrare/Wilt - Graveflowers
(Angle Rec: AR05.02)
For the last few years, dark ambient enthusiasts have been enjoying the evolutionary sound creations of Cordell Klier (Monstrare) and James Keeler (Wilt). The first, very often, in his solo adventures, works in an area which one could hail as dark glitch, or a close encounter of the third kind between modern technology and the abyss, as the second builds us somber sonic monoliths, raw blocks of black bruitist matter and dark lo-fi atmospherics There is a natural fit between these projects as both focus on dark mathematical projections. In this monumental production, Monstrare feeds us with new-school sonorities as Wilt opts for old-school sounds, each utilizing the source sound material of the other to crystallize his own visions, and vice versa. Side by side, the intemporal, uncompromising and often arrhythmic sonic fluids secreted here sometimes have a textured minimalistic feel, sometimes reflect a will of nuanced saturation Here one will easily recognize the traditional ambient and subtle black noise Wilt feel, just pushed to the utmost level, with Monstrare doing the dark-clicked drone he is renowned for, but in an especially demented way. Alternately, the listener finds himself wandering through the uneven meanders of subterranean cathedrals and flying over futurist cities radiant with an aura of strangely coloured neons. But there are a thousand and one other possible interpretations. Organic yet bleak, the music presented here symbolizes the passing of life into sub harmonic spirituality. Now is your turn to make yourself your own interior movie while listening to this album! In handsome cardboard sleeve. $4.00
Moon Far Away - Minnesang
(Ahnstern: Ahnstern45)
 |
Brand new album from cult Russian Neofolk act Moon Far Away! "Minnesang" is an album of 21st century ritual music encased in a unique fusion of the most diverse and zeitgeist-capturing musical styles, from neofolk, dark folk and post punk to practically future pop. The theme of the album, the deep-rooted feminine archetypes in contemporary art, is embodied in the title, which identifies a genre of medieval knight lyrics. At the same time, most of the original Russian lyrics on the album are drenched with the trademark Pomor flavours, emphasising the pride that the band has always taken in its cultural roots that extend deep into the epic traditions of the Russian North. "Minnesang" is a new milestone achieved by a cult group who already gave contemporary art scene a number of discoveries and revelations. This Ahnstern version has partly different artwork to the Russian edition and the last song is completely different to the Russian version.. $15.33

Mourmansk150 - La Guerre, L'Anarchie et le Chaos
(Nilbymouth: NBMCD17)
 |
Love this quote from Heathen Harvest to sum this up: "La Guerre, L'Anarchie et le Chaos" delivers a renewed, relentless, manifesto of cultural terrorism via harsh frequencies and heavy mutations, bred on urban laboratories boiling of Molotov cocktails and ultra-violence. " Perfectly put. Politically charged, hardcore power electronics that boils over with aggression and hate, including a viral attack on the head of Freak Animal entitled "Fuk Miko Aspa". Don't know what that's all about...I got nothing but respect for one of the most uncompromising individuals in the world of extreme music. Regardless, one of the more intense records I've heard in the last year or so.. $13.50

Murderous Vision - Life's Blood Death's Embrace
(Live Bait: LBRF024)
The release of 2005's "Ghosts of the Soul Long Lost" retrospective marked the first 10 years of cult Industrial act Murderous Vision. Providing a looking glass into the history of this well respected purveyor of all things dark. "Life's Blood Death's Embrace" charts the path for the future of the project. A deathly mixture of the blackest of Ambient passages supplemented heavily by Classical refrains and post-industrial rhythmic structures. Taking the mixture of these to the next level, of which the foundation was laid by 2002's successful offering "The Times Without Gods". Add to this sound and vocal contributions by the controversial Industrial artist Brethren, crystal clear production values and a superb Mastering job from the legendary hands of Peter Andersson (Raison d'être, Stratvm Terror etc.). This standard jewel case edition of 1000 copies features artwork by the mesmerizing and lethal Visual Artist Rebecca Potter and multi medium Polish art phenomena Kati Astraeir to perfectly match the dark vision of this album. Audio and Art merged to create a greater whole, and it comes together impeccably. A must own for all who live for Death Industrial/Ambient music!. $6.00
Musterion - The Wondrous Journey Through the Catacombs of Life
(Horus CyclicDaemon: HCDXI)
 |
The Wondrous Journey Through the Catacombs of Life is the second album of Musterion, following the highly acclaimed debut album The Black Lodge (2005), built upon complex and obscure composition techniques and musical innovation, and it drags the listener on a brilliantly imaginative and frightening journey that combines elements of dark ambient, surrealism, absurdity, Holyism with the help advanced structural and theoretical considerations in terms of the composition. The tale is concerning mind control by psychic, electronic, sexual, pharmaceutical, subliminal, and other means. The story stretches into the absurd and surely Simon AA Kölle exorcising some demons of his own and exploring a musical world where regular music metre is unimportant, where the rhythm of a piece could be dictated by breathless inspiration more than moving pictures (as the case with film music) or to fit a specific genre. Yet he again expands and evolves the genre of dark ambient into art music.Due to the dramatic nature of the music, which is shifting pace of both horror and atmosphere, the only way it would feel real enough included incorporation of organic instruments and electro-acoustic instruments. Improvisations, twisted circus music, industrial parts and many atmospheric moments give way for a highly symbolistic album where all elements are pieces of the broken puzzle.Artwork and design by Niko Skorpio.. $13.33

Mystified - Foiled Again CDr
(Autumn Abattoir: AA005)
 |
Thomas Park builds up an array of dissonant drones that enter from all directions. These unnatural harmonies move the listener from one place to another, whispering sweetly on one track and roaring in anger the next. There are constant intrusions by the sounds of activity, with rain splattering across roofs and shovels penetrating the earth. Aggressive percussion bursts through in the last half of the album, and refuses to relent until the very end. 100 copies.. $4.99
