Mars - Sacrifice 12inch E.P. (Lichterklang: LK020)
MARS is the psychedelic pagan folk brotherhood that arose from the ashes of the well-known ritual folk band :Golgatha: and presents a unique and powerful new vision of ecstatic music to awaken ancient spiritual energies by guitars, drums, viola and two male voices. Four energetic and, at times, melancholic folk songs culminate in a final track of noisy ritualism called “Ignition”. The songs focus on the continuous failings of mankind (“Icarus Falling”), the essence of blood sacrifice (“Sacrifice”), the Northern heritage (“Northern Cold”) and the loss of spiritual awareness (“Don’t you ever Feel”). After the puristic debut-album Sons of Cain, the new MARS E.P., Sacrifice, is a cycle of hymns to the old gods, including a folky version of “Northern Cold” by Canadian Black Metal band Woods of Ypres and a new interpretation of “Icarus Falling” by :Golgatha:. The one-sided 12” is limited to 250 copies and features an exclusive and beautiful Runic artwork by German painter Nadine O. Demmler.. $7.00

Masonna - Open Your Cunt LP (Urashima: UMA127)
Cascades of electronic noise, a psychedelic touch and vocal belching mixed together constitute the ingredients of Mademoiselle Anne Sanglante Ou Notre Nymphomanie Auréolé, the double-barreled name for Masonna. Maso Yamazaki founded his project in 1987, with a charismatic and glamorous personality who become a cult figure in “ Japanoise ” scene. Predating the era of digital domination, there was a time where artist-run labels putting out primarily, if not exclusively, tapes were legion: Toshiji Mikawa’s own Pariah Tapes, Masami Akita’s ZSF Produkt, Koji Tano’s MSBR Records, Akifumi Nakajima’s G.R.O.S.S., Hiroshi Hasegawa’s Endorphine Factory and Maso Yamazaki’s Coquette are just a few examples from Japan alone.
Masonna’s abundant productions on his own legendary and astonishing label were presented in very limited edition, sometime totally confidential (one sole copy), and reflect his predilection for 60’s psychedelic music revisited in its own very peculiar way. Mystic Another Selection Of Nurse's Naked Anthology is known for his very abrasive harsh noise that’s mostly made up of lots of distorted screaming and “Open your cunt’’ definitely has tons of that. This early work is not released on Coquette, but on two other fabulous Japanese labels: Beast 666 Tapes in 1989 and Vanilla Records in 1990 in limited quantities. Tape is very loud, noisy, and has lots of angry energy. The distortion and effects on the vocals are top notch, they in combination with his awesome screaming create a complete audio assault. In this eleven songs focuses an electrically overcharged universe, punctuating the electric and vocal sonorous power with some quite moments and brief interruptions, conferring a very particular dynamic to these tracks.. $24.00

Masonna - The Passion of Rubbers LP (Urashima: UMA091)
2nd repress. "The question of what's one's favorite item from their collection (or accumulation) consistently pops up in conversations amongst fans and collectors, and this unquestionably is always my answer. From head-to-toe, insert-to-tape, all elements are in glorious harmony and conversation with what another. Having the G.R.O.S.S. label's 'industrial design' fetish/obsession (some would say a relatively antiseptic departure from much of the other noise tapes of the time) articulating the sexualized rubber/bondage theme is a fantastic intersection, and one, to my knowledge, not touched upon again as overtly by the label (the subtle rope-play of The Three Temples excluded). The presentation truly is the content, and vice-versa; a unique trait in the young but deep legacy of Noise tape packaging. I marvel at the object's concrete refined sense of pruriency – the particular choice of patterned rubber material, the ornamental silver, the crude claw of staples holding the fucker together – all without resorting to pre-fabricated means (for example Dildo & the Dildoes releasing a tape hanging from a vibrator or something). Every time I've slowly and carefully undone the buckle, hear the crack of Velcro, pried the rubber shell open, and later meticulously sealed up its intricacies once I'm finished, the process has felt like nothing less than ritual. Moving on to the actual tapes themeself – double C10 – another perfect choice ; four parts of ‘acidtronics' – a concise statement forced by physical circumstance. I've always been a sucker for increments of twenty minutes on cassettes (in this case the total program being twenty), as well as short tapes, maybe because they focus on what truly matters – how the ‘side flip' is handled: a similarity with others' obsession with 7-inch singles. Parts One, Two and Four offer ‘live takes', uncut and ramming full speed , differing from the intense cut up techniques reported on other studio efforts from the time period; just organic velocity. A fucking monolithic vacuum cleaner sucking up all bullshit ‘good time' posturing, headbands and peace signs, and blowing them into a rubber isolation suite filled with sex gas so that one can truly get deep and ‘well-acquainted ‘ with the finer onanistic details. The Third part/side is a relative anomaly, a marked contrast – echoed out spacious synth bells – the tense and the delicate sharing opposite sides of the same space as the brutish and primal. Simple but effective sequencing; a crucial piece that bare all intentions behind the churning sonic mass surrounding. Taken inside as a whole, the four side shape a massively pleasing and dynamic curve. Absolutely ‘psych' – psychosexual and psychedelic. A ++, five star, two thumbs up, four spurting cocks and all that. C. Spencer Yeh – AS LOUD AS POSSIBLE Issue One 2010 on The Passion of Rubbers 2 x C10 cassette
This astonishing double tape printed in only 144 numbered copies is reissued on vinyl exactly twenty years after his release. Lp has been pressed on 140 gr black vinyl with black label and black inner sleeve and comes in a deluxe silver silkscreen on black cardboard sleeve, limited to 99 copies w/insert in luxury 160 gr ivory paper. Moral Order - Freedom Locked LP (Tesco: Tesco123)
L.ed. 300 incl. download code ; Tesco Organisation presents ¨Freedom Locked¨, the debut LP by MORAL ORDER. A work marked by the pressure power electronics and the old-school industrial in which Fernando O. Paíno exposes his more aggressive and severe side. Eight songs in which the noise is mixed masterfully with experimental and dark ambient, offering a varied, original and unique style. The agony and the restlessness merge in monolithic notes that ooze hatred. MORAL ORDER supposes an exacerbation in Paíno's style, distancing itself from the rhythm that defines its DA-SEIN parallel project.. $24.00

Muskets, The - Allegiance To No Crown 10 inch (Old Europa Café: OEMP16)
Four founders of American Neofolk music: "b9 InViD, THOMAS NÖLA, ERIN POWELL and DAVID E. WILLIAMS" celebrate the founding of the American nation itself with contemporary versions of battle songs from the period. While untraditional recordings and even performances of these songs are very rare, The Muskets march them into the twenty first century with acoustic psychedelia, noisy martial pop, and choral dark ambience. There is a hymnlike quality to these tunes, whether they express the dread of a loved one "gone for a soldier" or the joy of a last debauch before certain death. Weaving between the tracks like a doddering demented lion, a sour King George III condemns, laments and eventually accepts the triumph of liberty, to the accompaniment of disembodied trumpet and distant drums. This 10" EP features an unprecedented "supergroup" collaboration of 4 American artists of critical and popular note. Oh yes... and one sneaky Brit. A musician, writer, actor and filmmaker; b9 InViD performed as one half of Luftwaffe from 1997 to 2013 and now makes music as ET NIHIL. Thomas Nola is also an actor and filmmaker, most notably for THE DOCTOR (featuring Death in June's Douglas P as narrator), TO THE WOLVES and BLOOD JUNGLE. He has released numerous albums as Thomas Nöla et son Orchestre and Thomas Nöla & the Black Hole, and he is the founder and curator of the curiously notorious Disques de Lapin and Eskimo Films. A self-described "full-time Heathen, journalist, DJ and promoter," Erin Powell is the Texas-based recording artist behind the project AWEN. DAVID E. WILLIAMS has released numerous recordings of his demented chamber pop for close to 3 decades, but he has also collaborated with other artists, such as Rozz Williams (Christian Death), Deathpile, Blood Axis (as touring keyboardist), Jerome Deppe and Naevus (not to mention Thomas Nola). ANDREW KING, who appears here as George III, epitomizes the concept of an artist steeped in the spirit of Tradition while exploiting the technology of the Modern. He is one of the few neofolk musicians in the world with actual knowledge of actual folk music (encyclopedically so!) and his most recent undertaking is a song cycle related to The Great War (better known to most as World War I). The disc, pressed on solid red vinyl with a very elegant folding cover, is limited and handnumbered to 300 copies. OLD EUROPA CAFE OEMP 016. $5.00
