Sabled Sun - 2146 CD (Cryo Chamber: Cryo003)
Re-press of the 2013 album, released on Cryo Chamber, but pressed through Tesco. The second album by Atrium Carceri side-project Sabled Sun and the follow up to the album ‘2145’ (Old Europa Café), 2146 continues the sci-fi story background of this project and takes us to the second year after our protagonist awakens from deep hibernation sleep to a world in ruins. Seeking signs of life he encounters the illuminated cities still powered by automated energy and its robotic inhabitants moving with pointless tasks void of meaning. Simon Heath takes us to a cold place of nuclear winters and lost hope in this genre bending release. This album has a High Dynamic mastering for audiophiles, meaning a lower output volume and a greater dynamic range.. $12.50

Sacher Pelz - In Hoc Urbia Miazi (Old Europa Café: OECD090)
Very few are aware of the beginning of Maurizio Bianchi's adventures. Before starting the complex and compelling production of many records and tapes in the early eighties under the M.B. trademark, Maurizio Bianchi was documenting the new music scene writing essays and reviews for independent magazines. It was August 1979 in Milan, Italy and his sound was strengthening when he felt the time had come to prove his desire for something new. So he started his first solo project, under the name Sacher-pelz. 28 years later, SP is back, though stylistically, his sound has remained firmly rooted in the late ‘70’s-early ‘80s experimental era….a blur of tonal exploration, hissing white noise and minimalistic drones, with strange vocals that barely make it into the audible spectrum. MB calls this a 'clotted' sound, which somehow sounds fitting. Man, really challenging material, though will find appeal to fans of the early Come Organisation releases. Reminds me a lot of ChopShop, for those that remember that late ‘80s project.. $14.25

Sagittarius - The Kingdom Come (Cold Spring: CSR152)
Recorded between 2008 and 2011 and influenced by the intellectual world of the German poet Stefan George, "The Kingdom Come" contains 18 songs with a playing time of 65 minutes. (Von Thronstahl), Sagittarius has managed to conceive a unique and outstanding album in the tradition of the classic European Art Song, blending sophisticated neoclassical compositions with a touch of suicidal folk noir.. $6.00

SantaAgostino - Mokaraba Constellation (Greytone: Grey012)
Third album from the enigmatic act santAAgostino. Definitively the best expression of their multifaceted way of visual-audio compositions. Seven tracks of pure melodic ambient noise will bring the listener into a cathartic mind introspection above the abyss. Mokaraba Constellation is an album of songs and just because those songs have been slapped with layer upon layer of filthy concrete and lead doesn't mean they were never songs at all. Fantastic, crucial tunes yet again from the mind of the Italy's most hard working dark ambient / noise alchemists. For fans of Bad Sector. $8.67

Satanismo Calibro9 - Kymah Rising CD (Old Europa Café: OECD225)
"Kymah Rising" is the closing chapter of the Rising Trilogy. It does complete a path through Isis and Typhon to the androgynous archetype of Kymah.
Spawned during a transition period characterized by a line-up change, this album features several interventions by Daniele Santagiuliana and Dorian Bones (singer of the occult doom band Caronte).
Musically, SC9 have made a BIG step forward in sound., a very deep and evoking ritual, with whispered invocations and vocal chants mixed with slowly evolving, occult soundscapes and nightmarish, textural swirl.. $12.67

Seetyca - Nemeton (Winter-Light: Win003)
Nemeton" is the brand new studio album from Seetyca. In the ancient Celtic tradition, a Nemeton was a sacred space, primarily situated in natural areas, often sacred groves of trees. The album will take you to your own sacred place, as it hints at what lies hidden, ever deeper in the thick forests and darkened woods of Germany. A lo-fi master piece in dark ambient, the six tracks on this CD invoke feelings of apprehension, wonder and longing for a place never visited in the flesh but often travelled to in the minds eye. A place that lies tantalising just out of reach in the distance but that at any moment can become all consuming and enveloping. Encompassing you in thick dark layers of ambience and transporting you to a space from which there is no return. Ltd x 300 copies in a 6-panel digipak. $11.33

Seetyca - Winter Licht CD (Winter-Light: WIN011)
'Winterlicht' is Seetyca's third full length album to be released on the Winter-Light label.
As the album title indicates the theme is that of the winter's light and comprises of 12 new tracks, combining deep drones and sparse musical pieces to create a vast wintry landscape. The opening track 'cold morning' invokes images of sunlight playing across fields steeped in deep white snow while your cold breath disappears in to the morning air. The title track 'winterlicht' is a slowly evolving darker, deeper 13 minute drone piece. Here the heavy mantle of winter steadily envelopes the listener, drawing the darkness of the nights ever nearer, as the cold winds howl and the ice begins to form, locking the landscape in to a frozen tundra.
The play between light and dark, the subtle use of environmental sounds and carefully chosen instruments, played by a stellar array of Seetyca's friends, is what makes this album truly engaging.. $13.67

Seetyca - Zwischenwelten CD (Winter-Light: Win006)
‘Zwischenwelten’ is an immensely deep journey, characteristic of seetyca’s music. The listener is pulled between worlds, shrouded in dense layers of fog or pinned to the edge of a scene, forced to watch as an observer, while the part plays out. Interspersed with environmental sounds, and both electronic and traditional instruments, ‘Zwischenwelten’ is a beautiful, hypnotic album switching between what is real and what is perceived to be real by the listener. The album is laced with lush melodies, light ambient touches and otherworldly samples which bring to this piece a welcome sense of detachment.
For this release, seetyca has been joined by a number of contributing artists including Thom Yeesland (ambiant guitar sounds), Julian Eckstein (trombone) and Kris Caelis (glockenspiel and environmental sounds). seetyca himself plays an array of instruments including e-maschinen, samplers, ocarina, recorder, zither and acoustic guitar to name but a few.
seetyca certainly likes to pack his albums to the hilt, and this release is no exception. The cover design and layout has been created by Midnight Sun Studio, based upon original artwork from Edward Valerans III.
CD comes in a 6-panel full colour digi pack. 9 tracks with a total running time of 79:35 mins.. $13.50

Seirom - Mesmerized CD (Infinite Fog: KSZ006)
"When one submerges themselves in as much darkness as black metal/noise maven Mories tends to, it is only natural to need a break every now and then. The need to come up from the murky depths and bask in the sunlight now and again is only human, and despite the otherworldly sounds he produces, the man is only human. Seirom is this breath of fresh air, this ray of sunlight, for Gnaw Their Tongues mastermind Maurice De Jong.
Ofttimes overlooked in favor of his more shocking material like Aderlating or Gnaw Their Tongues, Morie's ambient synth project Seirom is just as satisfying a listen as any of his other material, and uses many of the same methods of attack, albeit to very different effect. Despite the fact that the project doesn''™t seem to garner quite as much critical attention, the intrinsic value of the music contained within is undeniable, and the back-uncatalog is surprisingly extensive with multiple releases dating back since 2011, many of which are available of the artist's bandcamp page for a pay-what-you-want download. The newest Seirom release, the seven song EP Mesmerized is a beautiful and fascinating work which is a perfect place for newcomers to Mories' lighter world to start immersing themselves". Sektor 304 - Communiphones (New Approach: NAR08)
Probably not what you'd immediately expect from Sektor 304, but by the same token, not all that surprising either given their periodic propensity to create extended passages of more atmospheric material; "Communiphones" consists of 35 minute piece built on synthesizers and field recordings, aiming for a monolithic and dronish paranoid ambience. Even if the approach is different, the sound is definitively and uniquely Sektor 304, with shifting layers of industrial clutter, mechanical whir, and gloomy, unsettled synthdrift. Sektor 304 - Soul Cleansing (Malignant: TumorCD43)
Equipped with a frightening and impressive array of primitive instrumentation pulled from junkyards and scrap metal heaps, this Portuguese outfit has delivered an astounding formal debut – a heady mixture of truly old school industrial in the vein of Einsturzende Neubauten, Test Dept , and S.P.K , and the grinding, bass heavy dirge of vintage Swans and Godflesh . These are anthems to the past, but geared towards an apocalyptic and bleak future… a form of counter-culture using what is most evident in modern western society: the debris, the abandoned objects, the waste, the noise, and the interference.
With a solid foundation of rusty, oil drenched percussion, Sektor 304 adds layer upon layer of squalling industrial clangor, hammering metallic noise, grimy atmospheres, heaving masses of haunted factory drones, and threatening tribal batter, with a strong and commanding vocal presence. The sound here is almost physical in nature – provocative, persistent, and demanding. No one is doing what Sektor 304 is doing right now. Anyone into TRUE industrial (and that includes not just the aformentioned old guard, but also things like Strom.ec , Militia, Negru Voda , and Knifeladder ) really should not miss out.In 6 panel digipak, mastered by Steel Hook Audio.. $5.00

Sektor 304 - Subliminal Actions (Malignant: TumorCD53)
The follow-up to the highly acclaimed Soul Cleansing CD finds Portugals Sektor 304 expanding on all aspects of their debut, once again channeling the essence of the old school guardians (Test Dept, SPK, Crash Worship), while simultaneously exploring new, uncharted territory.
Comparatively speaking, Subliminal Actions is a more complete and focused album, with an even better flow than Soul Cleansing and more attention paid to detail, unleashing a cacophonic whirlwind of buzz saw grind, loops, power tools, and scraping, junk metal debris, clashing head on with exertive tribal percussion, clanging oil barrel rhythms, and industrial clamor resonating over a sprawling, post- apocalyptic wasteland. Some tracks, such as the opener, “A Carving on Metallic Flesh”, heap on the scorching noise, while others, such as the resounding, rhythmic driven “By The Throat”, “A Vessel of Guilt”, or “Vultures” are delivered with factory-line precision, laced with grimy layers of bass-heavy dirge, bleak, reverbed squall, and distortion filled, atmospheric drone. Among the many highlights, is the albums closer, “A Prismatic Sun”, a 10 + minute epic excursion into a nightmarish world, populated by whispered vocals and uneasy drift that slowly rises and grows in intensity, climaxing into a blissfully dark and sweaty orgy of low slung bass, ominous, ceremonial drumming, and suffocating darkness.
Subliminal Action not only compliments Soul Cleansing, but takes the Sektor 304 sound to new heights, delivering yet striking record sure to solidify their standing as one of premier, truly industrial acts in operation today.
10 tracks, totaling 63 minutes, in 6 panel digipak, mastered by James Plotkin.. $5.00

S.E.T.I. - Final Trajectory (Power & Steel: Pas35)
The new album of Andrew Lagowski's S.E.T.I. begins as a colossal sound wall, like a massive electrical transformer, out of which analogue and digital synthesizer sounds and samples emerge, condense, and crossfade into a deep ambient symphony. The recordings and textures produced over 30 years from 1983-2013 converge in 'Final Trajectory' to produce a collection of monolithic sounds. Invoking a sense of immensity with warm and dark atmospheric loops sounding distant and abandoned in a vast wilderness, battling against galactic winds. S.E.T.I. sets the listener down in this wilderness as an isolated observer; a witness to long intertwining drones, shattered dialogue and broken transmissions, with superior effects chains and a gentle rising dramaturgy forcing the complete album to an astonishing pure data vortex.
As the Voyager spacecraft reaches the outer edge of our Solar System it is a fitting time to imagine the exodus from Earth of the last human being on their final trajectory towards an unknown future. There has been little effort made to prepare psychologically for this one way trip and hallucinatory voices and sounds flit around the traveler, mingling with those of the craft’s entertainment, propulsion and life support systems. Life memories, encounters and events break through the cracks of rational thought like dream fragments, in bursts of barely unrecognizable data. As the craft passes through the mid point of our planetary system on its way out, the occupant thinks they hear a message being transmitted from Earth on the permanently scanning radio receiver.….
Will this be real in our lifetimes? Is the craft being built already in the knowledge that we have little time left on this planet?
If so, where to next?. $12.67

Sewer Goddess - Hymns of Infliction CD (Terror: Terror39)
A turn back to the roots of Sewer Goddess, compiling material written and recorded between 2008-2009; pure, gritty, primitive and filthy industrial soundscapes when Sewer Goddess was still Kristen's solo project. This is pretty stripped down and bleak, and the sound has evolved considerably since these recordings, but they're still essential snapshots of the early Sewer Goddess material, and really strong work even in the earlier stages. A must!. $11.66

Sewer Goddess - Painlust CD (Black Plagve: Infect14)
Sewer Goddess’ 2010 CD debut, “With Dirt You Are One”, seemed to come and go in the blink of a rotted eye, and while there have been numerous tape, compilation, and live recordings since then, nothing could possibly prepare you for the evolution in sound that has occurred since then. Recent material and performances have certainly hinted at it, but “Painlust” goes beyond all expectations and delivers what is up to this point, their benchmark recording. Now backed by a full fledged band and recorded in studio, Kristen Rose and co. have taken a blade to the original Sewer Goddess template and ceremoniously cut the fat, leaving a lean, sinewy carcass that’s as much doom metal as it death industrial. The 6 tracks here are an asphyxiating death march that’s concise and devastatingly heavy, the lurching, sludge driven guitar, dissonant riffs, and bass all in a rigid lockstep with heaving, pneumatic percussion. Bound with bewitching and often maniacal vocal shrieks and moans, and heaps of ghastly electronic filth, it’s a brilliant dichotomy between human and machine, resulting in a listening experience that’s at once enthralling and terrifying. In jewel box with 8 page booklet, designed by Andre Coelho.

We are nowhere, a journey with no boundaries or restrictions transforming the smallness of ordinary life into transcendent magnitudes. Building on constant cinematic tension, frictions and collisions of sounds, through which the mind is transformed, freed from daily dualities, at one with it’s psychic abilities. Shibalba - Samsara CD (Malignant: TumorCD91)
Active since 2009, Shibalba bring their first full ritual expression to the halls of Malignant. Samsara summons five chthonic explorations using all the hallmark instrumentation of the genre to great effect; liturgical chants and spectral vocal incantations, minor keyboard orchestrations, resonant chimes and prayer bowls, ceremonial percussion, and atmospheric drift ensconced in sepulchral reverb. It’s a tapestry of richly detailed and layered sounds that emanate from candlelit chambers and underground passages, and an intoxicating and majestic homage to the darkest of arts. Previous work must be noted and recognized, but it is with Samsara that Shibalba’s vision is fully realized. And while the shadow of Endvra, Funerary Call, and Halo Manash loom in the background, Shibalba have forged a new path and solidified themselves among the leaders of the new realm. We have entered the Halls of Inner Sadhana to re-unite Pilgrimage and Austerity, to gaze once more behind the Eyes of Samadhi, and to reach new starfields of alienation.. $5.00

Shinjuku Thief - Medea (Dorobo: Dorobo018)
While the Witch Triolgy were certainly benchmark releases , free from the thematic restrictions of those releases, Shinjuku Thief really hits the mark here, with what may just be their best work ever. The palate has been expanded, the noise comes in, the drama hits new heights, and the sheer power and beauty is beyond belief. Originally composed for a controversial staging of the classic greek tragedy, "medea" is Shinjuku Thief's most dramatic, dynamic and sinister work to date. Notwithstanding its extreme violence, it might also be one of their most beautiful. Fragile melodies sung by boy sopranos float above demonic choirs and malevolent orchestras only to be ripped apart by screaming sheets of industrial noise. Oscillating between lush musical seduction and a level of brutality as yet unprecedented across the band's backcatalog, "medea" will appeal to fans running the gambit of Dead Can Dance, Raison D'etre and In Slaughter Natives in one corner to Merzbow, and Brighter Death now in the other. Shock Frontier - Mancuerda Confessions (Malignant: TumorCD64)
Founded some time during 2010, Shock Frontier is the brainchild of Psychomanteum’s Robert Kozletski. Born from an increasing interest in harsher industrial sounds, and aided by long time friend Kyle Carney (Defiantly Fading), Mancuerda Confessions is an expertly composed and finely honed collection of shape shifting, nightmarish emissions and radioactive tonalities, drawing inspiration from some of the early death industrial pioneers, but adding an unique, densely layered and atmospheric style. This is a soundtrack to a world that ends not in a cataclysmic, fiery fashion, but one that slowly decays and rots into oblivion, where swathes of ghostly textures, samples, and disembodied noises morph into murky ambient realms, and caustic frequency reverberations pierce through a bleak, post-apocalyptic haze. After 19 years in existence, it’s arguable that a definitive Malignant sound exists, but if it does, Shock Frontier has managed to come awfully close to capturing it with Mancuerda Confessions. A must for fans of Megaptera, Steel Hook Prostheses, Soldnergeist, and the early CMI sound. Shock Frontier - Tumult CD (Malignant: TumorCD110)
With his dark ambient project Apócrýphos, Robert Kozletsky has shown a proven ability at creating multi-layered and highly detailed soundscapes. Working as a duo alongside Kyle Carney, he takes that skill and applies it to his death industrial alter-ego, Shock Frontier, carving out a sound residing somewhere between the “new wave” of American power electronics (The Vomit Arsonist, Steel Hook Prostheses) and the classic sound of Cold Meat Industry (Deutsch Nepal, Megaptera). “Tumult” is a world enveloped in a perpetual haze of post-apocalyptic soot and radioactive ash, where deadening percussion, reverberating factory drones, samples, and atmospheric washes of hostile electronics churn and whirr into a polluted, endless expanse. The follow up to 2013’s debut Mancuerda Confessions, Tumult is a more intricate, more oppressive, and more finely honed release, and a logical extension of the Shock Frontier sound.
Featuring contributions from Gnawed, Kristoffer Oustad, and Noculture, in 6 panel DVD digipak skillfully designed by Chris Angelucci of NTF Design & Print.. $5.00

Studs and Divinity isn't their most focused work, nor their best work from the time period (quite honestly, parts of it are somewhat awkward by today's standard) but still, it's a vital document, navigating through ritualistic, dark ambient realms, swirls of cybernetic noise, electronic mutations, and solemn orchestrations. Sigma Octantis - Dissipations (Malignant: Treatment04)
Final release from this enigmatic French act, who over their 10 plus year existence, evolved into something very cerebral and innovative, fusing tribal rhythms and percussion with post-industrial and post-rock soundscapes, where cinematic textures and emotive melodies combine to create an eclectic, yet highly detailed and focused listening experience. Sigma Octantis has never been shy about their admiration of Morthound, and while that rings true with Dissipations, they have undoubtedly forged their own identity, the strength of their sound coming from an ability to take a template established 20 years ago, and expound upon it with a distinctive and broad palette of layers and complexities, where the overall arrangement of the tracks is structured and song oriented, but made surreal, unpredictable, and infinitely engrossing. A unique vision has come to pass, but will continue to live on with a strong end statement. For fans of Morthound, Deutsch Nepal, and the latter works of Caul. To our impending doom in a future stripped of humanity. A grinding squeal as the paradox cracks reality. At our feet blue skies reflected in a desert of broken mirrors. Warm soothing field recordings mix with bright overlays and distant instruments. Taking the help of Textere Oris, Particula, Wandering Wind and others, this album is as detailed as it is complex. For lovers of atmospheric drone and field recording. $12.67

Skin Area - Rothko Field (Malignant: TumorCD52)
3rd full length release from this acclaimed Martin Bladh (IRM) project(in conjunction with Magnus Lindh), following 2002's New Skin CD and 2006's double CD Journal Noir/Lithium Path, both on Cold Meat Industry.
Like previous works, Rothko Field is a highly charged and visceral auditory experience...mind bending and turbulent sonic explorations that are grainy and tense, where uneasy frequencies intersect with caustic drones, infected, insectile buzz, swelling drifts, and intense, slow motion percussion driven sludgery. Further comparison reveals Rothko Field to be less schizophrenic, less challenging, and more structured than in the past, coming off as both spacious and yet suffocatingly claustrophobic (and ultimately closer in style to IRM), suggestive of a spiral downwards into mental decay and degradation, and further enhanced by Martin's uniquely distressed and provocative vocalizations.
9 tracks total, broken into two "mirrored parts", with track 5, "Void"acting as the actual mirror itself. In digipak, with full color 24page booklet. Not to detract from previous releases, but this is easily the best Skin Area work to date, and a must for all things Martin Bladh!. $5.00

Skinwell - Tunnels (Angle Rec: AR0507)
Re-stock of this CD from Christian Corvellec, known most recently for his collaborative work with Frederic Arbour as Skorneg. A whole assortment of subtle electronic pulsations are concocted here by Christian, always adequately supporting the sound fabrics woven by Martin Dumais, and which also are their starting point. A light at the end of the tunnel, penetrating different fissures along the walls, penetrating our mind with echoes. One only has to imagine a minimal tech project gone the drone-ocean way… pulsations are always there, but tinged with a sonic fog that is heavy, damp and fluid at the same time and which always suggests, in the end, uncertain twists and turns in this crossing of tunnels. File next to Cranioclast, Troum and Zoviet France. Ltd x 333 numbered copies in a deluxe cardboard sleeve with spot-varnish.. $4.00

Full on aggression and uncompromising on all accounts, yet strives to maintain a musical sensibility, even as it beats you senseless and leaves you in the dumpster . At times monolithic, but very gritty, grimy, and ‘urban’ sounding, this should most definitely appeal to fans of Navicon and Slogun (especially since track 5, the classic Break Your Face includes vocal contributions from John Balistreri). Skorneg - Foehn (Malignant: TumorCD75)
Collaborative effort between Frédéric Arbour of famed dark ambient label Cyclic Law and his solo project Visions, and Montreal based ambient/experimental project, Skinwell. Conceptually it oscillates around the northern elements of Glaciers, Winds and the exploration of such rugged territories, both physically, intellectually and spiritually. Musically, it brings us 4 tracks of massively scaled power drones, barren ambience, and black hole atmospherics, each piece starting in a more minimal fashion, then slowing escalating into a hypnotic spectrum of melting drift, ascending and descending tones, and undercurrents of distant industrial churn. Only time will tell if this is a one off project, but for now, drone enthusiasts and dark ambient purists can unite and revel in this fantastic offering. 4 panel digipak, lmtd 500 copies.. $5.00

Skullflower - Fucked On A Pile of Corpses (Cold Spring: CSR151)
Re-stock. The most remorseless, brutal Skullflower ever! Alternating between granular lo-fi primitive rock and granular lo-fi primitive Power Electronics, this taut disc is a chain mail glove of hate to any lazy minds who've tainted the air with describing Skullflower as 'psychedelic'. But that's not to say this is an all out total assault. There are also moments of tender acoustic balladry, its just that they don't exist. The remorseless brutal sound is primitive, but as detailed and rich as a blood soaked medieval canvas, somewhere betwixt The Rita and Clandestine Blaze, but more brutal! Long live the New Flesh! “Hedgerows, tapestries, dream woods, dragon lands. After “Draconis”, we have been released to roam through the multiverse, fashioning trinkets and ornaments from jewelled sounds, and leaving them as waymarkers on our astral travels. We seem to be circling, encountering familiar territories, yet always changed, because these circles, from a true perspective; are all part of a great averse spiral, our pattern, our map, which is the terrain itself. You will hear hints and echoes of native keening, lush prog romanticism, and the charcoal textures of noise, but all subsumed within our alchemy, the unmistakable wellspring of sound that is SF”.6-panel digipak.. $14.50

Sonne Hagal - Ockerwasser CD (Luftschutz: Luft014)
Re-stock. Sonne Hagal's new, long awaited album "OCKERWASSER - A Symphony of Sorrowful songs." There is every indication that OCKERWASSER will be considered Sonne Hagal's masterwork. For six years, after releasing their widely acclaimed album Jordansfrost (2008), Sonne Hagal retreated into themselves, concentrating on realising their visions for that which was to become OCKERWASSER. While there were compilation appearances, a collaboration with FIRE + ICE, and a number of live performances, the majority of their artistic efforts were devoted to OCKERWASSER. OCKERWASSER is the quintessence of what makes music good music. OCKERWASSER is characterised by daedal music compositions, interwoven melodies, and enchanting harmonies. There is a kind of dance between folk, jazz, and experimental music, creating sonic dreamscapes that beckon spirits. Soundscapes that open a wideness inside you to let in (and out!) your dreams, your fears and all the spirits that like to cross the border between consciousness and subconsciousness. OCKERWASSER is founded upon Sonne Hagal's unmistakable acoustic guitar, and is enhanced with violin, trumpet, percussion, bass, and intelligently placed electronics. Rhythms shape-shift between the delicate and doomful, beginning from the first track on the album, "The Shapes of Things to Come," which presents both the Etherworld and the Netherworld, ever reminding us of the ancient, unspoken axiom: "As above, so below." Music, directly from the ether in search for the essence of life. From there you may follow SONNE HAGAL into deeper realms of sleep, into subconsciousness, and "Silence" begets the dreamless fields of "Black Spring," and beyond. With each and every listening, we emerge transfigured from OCKERWASSER as from a journey. The lyrics of OCKERWASSER are simultaneously prophetic, Hermetic, all-encompassing and yet profoundly personal. With Sonne Hagal we are invited to exploring our dreams, our consciousness, our very existence, and the nature of human psyche. OCKERWASSER transforms universes into dreams, dreams into words, words into ideas. For six years Sonne Hagal has worked to create an expression of these ideas, and the results are overwhelming. With OCKERWASSER Sonne Hagal has achieved the finest expression of their artistic voice through their inimitable vocals. It is a collective voice that wrenches beauty and sadness, tragedy and hope, bitterness and strength. This is the voice that is not only a voice but an instrument, a medium, a vehicle. The voice of Sonne Hagal is both singular and collective, and the voices in our head join a choir of the inner self; a choir of the unknown; a choir of lost dreams and new fantasies. On OCKERWASSER, Sonne Hagal has engaged guest appearances from an international array of artists, including such artists as Kim Larsen (Of the Wand and the Moon), Ericah Hagle (Unto Ashes), Leithana (Ordo Equitum Solis), Bo Rande, Matthias Krause (Vurgart). Ultimately, OCKERWASSER is unmistakable Sonne Hagal, rendering their own unique vision of music which transcends any genre. For years we have been longing for a new full-length album by Sonne Hagal; suffice is to say that OCKERWASSER is Sonne Hagal's masterwork that we never allowed ourselves to hope for.. $12.00

SPHÄRE SECHS - Enceladus CD (Malignant: TumorCD83)
A follow up to the highly acclaimed and quickly sold out Tiefschlaf CD (TumorCD56, 2012), this project of Phelios’ Martin Stürtzer and Christian Striztel finds the duo traveling even further out into space, beyond the reaches of light and into realms never before explored. While the overall approach is similar to Tiefschlaf and there’s certainly some shared DNA at play here, the seven tracks that comprise Enceladus feel weightier and darker…a glorious amalgam of drift and synth drone that seems to extend beyond any visual measure, the tones and textures floating off into an infinite expanse, pulled and stretched by an unseen gravitational force. Space inspired dark ambient can be a tricky thing…a common theme attempted by many with some measure of success, but few capture the coldness, stillness, and awe inspiring beauty of the interstellar void so brilliantly as Sphäre Sechs. Recorded solely on analog equipment without the use of computers, Enceladus is a deeply mesmerizing and hypnotic excursion best played on headphones or in solitude for maximum effect. 4 panel, matte finished digipak with metallic ink highlights designed by Alonso Urbanos.. $5.00

S.Q.E. - 5+4 (Silken Tofu: STX16)
SQE. is the moniker of J Greco, living and working in New York. Active in the electro-acoustic/experimental scene since the mid-1990s, he founded Smooth Quality Excrement together and collaborated with such artists as Ure Thrall, Paul Lacosta and Michael Hensley (Blood Box, Yen Pox), before concentrating on his solo material as SQE.
As SQE, J. Greco has collaborated with the likes of Amber Asylum, Tony Wakeford and Alan Trench & Tracy Jeffery (Orchis/Temple Music). This resulted in releases on Old Europa Cafe, Drone Records and Anticlock Records. With ‘5+4’, J Greco takes his work to a completely different level, perhaps more accessible sounding but still with its necessary hooks and experimental sounds.
Stylistically, it might surprise some (quite a few) people, with its contemporary electronic sounds and dub influences. Armed with effects, acoustic instruments and the lovely voice of Tracy Jeffery, SQE has made the soundtrack to some hazy, warm summer nights, combining this warmness with a slightly fuzzy mood and an at times cold 80s feel.. $11.66

Steel Hook Prostheses - Calm Morbidity CD (Malignant: TumorCD96)
15 years in and with 9 full length releases under their belt, it’s safe to say that the terminally morbid, Dallas based duo that is Steel Hook Prostheses are the undisputed flag bearers for American death industrial. Perhaps they have been for a long time, but if there was any doubt, it’s quickly erased within the first minutes of Calm Morbidity, their first full length since 2013’s The Empirics Guild. Once again, we find them channeling all things grim and grotesque, and while they don’t stray too far from the charnel house atmospherics you’ve come to expect, there’s a dynamic and dark energy that exists with Calm Morbidity that never fully existed before. Ghastly and nightmarish, this is the soundtrack to surgery performed amidst filth and grime, with flickering lights, rusty scalpels, and absolutely no chance of anesthesia. The songs grow to an unnervingpresence either by a monotonous, deafening tone, or through more organic, pulsating soundscapes, like heavy breathing or a bellow slowly igniting asoon-to-become raging furnace. Stratvm Terror - Fixation (Old Europa Café: OECD072)
Re-stock! I’ve been listening to industrial music for some 20 odd years or so, and few tracks have hit me as hard as the second track on this disc. It’s an absolute bruiser of a track, and an instant classic. High voltage tazer gun pulsations and buzz saw cacophony with a dirty, corrosive, iron fisted injection of scrap metal chaos. And that’s before it even kicks in! At high volume, it’ll have you on the floor in delightful convulsions. Nothing else achieves the same brilliance (though some try), but that’s almost impossible. Still, this whole CD is considerably harsher than the previous output, harking a bit back to the earlier cassette years, but upping the ante even more; slamming vault door percussion, grinding metallics, samples, dense, cluttered factory din, claustrophobic atmospheres and gritty noise, and at times, vocals on par with the intensity of Slogun. It all comes together. If I made music, I’d probably try and make it like Fixation. Includes one live track, one track from the Death Odors II, 7 older (never release tracks), and two newly recorded tracks. $13.33

Pain Implantations, comparatively speaking, is a more subdued listen than some of the other Stratvm Terror CDs, but still delivers quite a punch. Shimmering, corrosive, and highly dynamic atmospheres surging and churning with tension and volatile distortion, with the tracks reaching incredible heights of intensity. This re-release from Old Europa Cafe, totally refurbished from the original master and added with two more songs, is presented with complete new artwork.. $12.67

Stress Orphan - Mass Casualty Event CD (Fusty Cunt: FUC159)
First full length pro CD from this Baltimore based project bursts forth with a fiery animosity and vitriol on behalf of the people of the US controlled island, Saipan, long subject to cheap labor exploitation and a dominating military presence. Clocking in at 46 minutes, the 4 tracks here are forceful and cataclysmic, built on heavy synths, commanding vocals, and expertly executed frequency blasts and pulsations. Leans towards the minimalist side of things, but it's that focused simplicity and direct approach that makes it so effective. For fans of Nyodene D, Strom.EC, and Anenzephalia.. $9.33

Strom Noir - Mountains Become Machines CD (Winter-Light: WIn014)
Emil Maťko, the man behind Strom Noir, hails from Bratislava, Slovakia. Since 2008, Emil has released around 15 albums to date on a variety of different formats, as well as a number of singles and also contributed to several compilation albums. His music can possibly be best described as guitar and loop based ambient, with a melancholic feel to it. Strom Noir builds up intricate layers of sound using mostly only electric and acoustic guitars, effected through pedals.
The artist himself describes the thoughts and processes behind the recording of ‘Mountains Become Machines‘.....
‘The beginning of the recording process is dated back to the second half of 2013, that time with the intention to come up with the full-length release consisting of more “stand-alone” tracks built significantly on acoustic guitar, in most cases, heavily transmuted. As I used to set the recorder always in a way that it recorded associated sounds from the recording room as well, recordings are more complex and have some accidental/random aspects; on the other hand, the overall feeling is a little bit lo-fi. That’s the process how the tracks, I would label as the core of the album, were basically recorded – the beginning of spring, mountains become machines, sám na vrchole hory (alone on the mountain top), where late the birds sang and čistota (purity).. $13.77

STROMSTAD - New Devoted Human CD (Malignant: TumorCD114)
Few names imply mind-bending, forward thinking heavy electronics like Finnish stalwarts STROM.ec, and with every release, they seem to further stretch the boundaries of what can be a pretty rigid genre, and navigate realms never before seen or heard. Similar things can be said of Norwegian atmospheric heavy weight and Malignant staple, Kristoffer Oustad, whose particular strain of dark ambient and post-industrial soundscapes are incredibly dynamic, at times surreal and cinematic, other times more driving and heavy, but all with a recognizable, highly emotive touch. Put the two together, and you get the debut of their collaborative project, STROMSTAD. Spread out over 8 tracks, this is a dizzying exploration of sound and vocal fury, where mechanized pulsations, writhing frequency oscillations, and grinding machine loops meet stretches of drifting darkness and touches of musicality, suggestive of a future that’s dystopic and bleak on one hand, yet highly innovative and revolutionary on the other.
Featuring a guest appearance by Grutle Kjellson from the mighty Enslaved, mastering by Nordvargr, paintings by Jeff Klena and design by Alonso Urbanos.

During their work on the sold-out 10 year jubilee 8LP boxset, the Austrian pioneers of Alpine Folk Music created this Dark-Psychedelic collection of scary tales around the holy mount Untersberg. Legends telling about people who went inside the hollow mountain, to visit Kaiser Karl and his folks living/sleeping there, waiting for the end of days to fight the final battle. In most of these tales the visitors were only a few hours or days inside the mountain and his inside castles and monasteries, but when they returned to the outer world (IF they ever returned), many years had passed - this phenomenon is called "Bergentrückung". Don't expect the Sturmpercht-typical nice fairietales, beautiful Folk songs or joyful drinking hymns - this album is pure Alpine Darkness! Sutcliffe Jugend - Blue Rabbit (Crucial Blast: CBR95)
Appearing in the early 80's as an offshoot of the legendary UK power electronics band Whitehouse, Sutcliffe Jugend soon went to to become an equally confrontational and extreme purveyor of the early PE/industrial sound, producing some of the most abrasive and violent electronics albums ever with their early Come Organisation releases We Spit On Their Graves and Campaign . Since then, Sutcliffe Jugend has continued to pursue a unique sonic vision that combines transgressive subject matter and dark, cerebral musings on violence and sexual perversion with explorations into the use of brutal feedback and synthesizer damage. In the past decade, however, the band has delved into darker, more restrained (at least on a sonic level) sounds alongside their harsher work, and Blue Rabbit is the latest such offering, unfolding like a night-terror across the album's eight tracks. You won't find any of SJ's trademark power electronics sound here, nor the dark throbbing industrial of their recent album With Extreme Prejudice for Cold Spring Records; this is a darker, more unsettling experience, heavy with an atmosphere of doom and smoldering violence, as if Sutcliffe Jugend sought to channel the creaking dread of Nurse With Wound's Salt Marie Celeste through a series if blood-freezing psychosexual nightmares.
The first song "Solace" begins with washes of black tidal drift and eerie creaking sounds, wheezing string-like drones, the scrape of bones against the rusted strings of a cello, brief flashes of piano, and strange low-frequency muttering, snatches of melody drift in and out of clarity, while a male voice murmurs just below the surface of this seasick soundscape. The vocals never break into the kind of high, manic screaming that you'd hear on previous SJ albums, instead appearing as a malevolent presence, a depraved narrator lurking in the dark corners of Blue Rabbit. The album creeps through ever more disturbing scenes, from the sparse electro-acoustic collage of percussive noises, asthmatic scraping strings and reedy feedback tones that make up "Seed", a collage of warbly electronic tones, the thump of an oil tank, evil whispers guiding the listener through these aural hallucinations, the track eventually resembling some nightmare free-improv session.
Then there is "The Bad Mannered Prophet", an almost orchestral dark ambient epic unlike anything that I have ever heard from Sutcliffe Jugend, magisterial and haunting, a stirring dark melody and sounds of distant chanting looping repeatedly beneath a creaking, crashing oceanic soundscape. And the rest of the album drifts further through these realms of bad-dream ambience, strange somnambulant improv and the sounds of organ, murmuring voices, mewling cries, jazzy bass frozen into a glacial drip, minimalist drones that waver and fade against the darkness, the slow scrape of the bow across strings processed into buzzing, wasp-like tones, clouds of billowing melodious keyboard, the songs at times resembling the din of a house of clocks gone haywire, finally culminating in the frenzied depravity of "The Death Of Pornography".
For fans of the band that are primarily familiar with their harsher output on Come Org and Cold Spring, this is a revelation; a seething quasi-ambient nightmare that lingers with the listener, enhanced in it's creep factor by the unsettling paintings from Sutcliffe Jugend's Kevin Tomkins that make up the album art. Comes in a full-color digipack.. $10.00

Sutcliffe Jugend - Offal CD (Cold Spring: CSR209)
Post Industrial pioneers Sutcliffe Jugend take everything to a new level with “Offal”.
With printed lyrics included for the first time, we get to the heart of Sutcliffe Jugend at their euphoric and vilifying best. Words that will make you question what it is to be truly human and not the conformist PC neo-liberal slave so prevalent and encouraged in the modern era.
The production on the album sounds massive compared to previous releases, giving the carefully constructed songs an intense, brutal and relentless environment not heard before. Kevin Tomkins’ vocals are pushed to new extremes, doing battle with Paul Taylor’s vicious guitar and synth work.
“Offal” features four epic tracks (55 minutes) of naked emotional release that will leave the listener breathless and gasping for more.

Sutcliffe Jugend & Junko - Sans Palatine Uvula CD (4iB Records: 4iB13)
Sans Palatine Uvula showcases the amalgamation of 2 pioneering artists of their respective genres: Power Electronics and Japanoise, both whom have made their presence significantly felt (through sight and sound) ever since the early 1980s in England and Japan. Sutcliffe Jugend and Junko (from 非常階段/HIJOKAIDAN) are renowned artists in their own right, having been uniquely defined in the experimental noise scene as innovators of sound through their personal style of artistic expression that involves the churning of audio mayhem through guitars, electronics and vocals.
This album sees Sutcliffe Jugend taking a step beyond as they push the envelope of sound progression to greater heights. Junko‘s piercing screams and squeals serve as a canvas for Sutcliffe Jugend to work on and develop it further in their own innovative style. The results demonstrate a very unique reconstruction of the shriek queen’s original vocal outbursts, which see them being reworked and reinvented separately through manipulative treatments of cut-ups, distortions, samplings and introduction of other sonic elements.
This collaborative work between these two unique and respected artists of different genres from East and West encloses the listener with sonic chaos through its ten varied tracks. For some, it may seem like a difficult album to digest at the first listen. However, the tensions that have been separately produced from the harsh elements of voice and sound eventually subside as they resonate with each other, bringing forth a balanced unity of yin and yang.
Best Played Loud!. $12.67

Swollen Organs - Feelings About Gender Guilt Over Time CDr (Annihilvs: Apex2016-008)
Annihilvs Power Electronix proudly presents the label debut of NYC filth electronics act SWOLLEN ORGANS, the solo endeavor of Jimmy Aly (The Communion). Feelings About Gender Guilt Over Time takes a long, hard, sweaty look at the tenuous relationship between gender roles. Fraught with uncomfortable quiet moments and overbearing aggression, this release is a disturbing examination of sexuality, through the lens of misanthropy.
Jimmy Aly, who serves multiple functions as guitarist, bassist, and noise guy in NYC grind/sludge band The Communion, made his first appearance as SWOLLEN ORGANS in 2009, with digital document A Single Purpose. The project otherwise remained a private fetish until 2012, when the first release Digging Through The Trash, was made available to the public via his own label, Nom de Plume Records. Operating within the often unrecognizable boundaries between power electronics, death industrial, and harsh noise, SWOLLEN ORGANS is a study of personal jealousy, sexual obsession, violence, and the victim and the victimizer. It is the selfish manifestation of unfulfilled lust and constant hatred that is kept buried to prolong an unassuming existence in society, and ultimately a project of worship in every sense of the word.. $10.67

Synapscape - Act! (Ant-Zen: Act167)
T. Kniep and P. Münch have finally finished their first full length album since 2001 and compared to other Ant-Zen releases this is not simply an'act' - it is an act! On this cd, Synapscape's astonishing rhythmic skills areperfectly displayed, keeping the beat straight but always changing thepatterns throughout a track. When a track starts you might think you knowhow it will proceed, but while listening you will end up being surprised. There is a permanent change - without any real interference. This album couldalso be described as an 'attack on expectations' - sequencers and electronicpercussion replace the expected bass drum; in a heavily distorted 4/4 tracka techno-like 5th-chord is embedded; crystal clear drum strokes replacedistorted beats; - those 'attacks' are the sparks of the burning flow. Thevariety of sound is evident in the ambient tracks like 'Kollberg' and'Sellout', the hard 4/4-beat-ers like 'The Hoe' and 'Katunga' (which leanheavily toward the distorted dance floor) and the live-killer-tracks('Wings' and 'Alice') which may be well-known to Synapscape addicts. ButAct!'s general mood is what makes this CD a real album and not just acompilation of new tracks. This album is nothing less than an improvementand a logical progression of synapscape's conceptual work. The act! isdone. $7.00

Synapscape - Still CD (Ant-Zen: Act377)
The sound of Synapscape varies from ambient soundscapes to powerful electronic rhythms to show you the structures of your inner mind...'. It was back in 1995 when Ant-Zen announced the first album of the Bielefeld based duo - the label's first CD release ever, and also the cadre for a long-term partnership between the band and the antz. Now the band is in the twenty-fifth year of its existence, and that calls for a one-of-a-kind celebration.
'Still' is an album on which Synapscape review their past in a unique manner: eleven tracks originally recorded between 1994 and 1999 were chosen and then resurrected as entirely re-recorded versions, transforming the spirit of the archetypes into contemporary sounding works of art. while choosing the tracklist, the focus was on the project's rhythmic side, presenting it's ability to create relentless dance tracks with an energetic industrial force that has been in place since the beginning. a wealth of different grooves and hypnotic sequences carry aggression and depth, topped byTTim Kniep's characteristic voice which is now considerably clearer, compared to the original versions.
A reminder of a bygone era and an entirely new coherent end-to-end album at the same time, transforming past creative artistry into present. still going strong - enjoy!. $13.66
