Machinefabriek - Dubbeltjes (Zoharum: Zohar063)
A new compilation of rare works entitled "Dubbeltjes", consisting of 11 tracks recorded between 2008 and 2013, taken from 7" vinyl and 3" CDR releases. The durational limitations are useful to experiment with and to create really focused, crystallised pieces. Most of these tracks focus on a very limited palette of sounds. One track was constructed using solely trombone recordings from Hillary Jeffery (The Kilimanjaro Darkjazz Ensemble). Two were made using a simple setup of electric guitar and sampler, and surprisingly, two jazz classics, in collaboration with bass clarinet player Gareth Davis. All these sets of songs have a very specific quality to them. These tracks are among Rutger Zuydervelt's personal favorites and aren't available on a physical format anymore. Ltd x 300 copies in a 6-panel digisleeve.. $10.00

Maculatum - The Nameless City (Malignant: TumorCD59)
The Nameless City is the debut of Maculatum, the much anticipated collaborative project of Malignant dark ambient stalwarts Collapsar and Rasalhague. 6 tracks of visionary and cinematic black ambience based on Lovecraftian mythology, populated by unseen cosmic horrors and shapeless forms. The sound here is vast and luminous, and yet simultaneously menacing and oppressive…swirls of sprawling drones infused with ethereal murk and a steady stream of richly textured percussion, cavernous creaks, terrifying rituals, and heavily reverbed, ghostly vocalizations that arise from deep within the jungle and ruins of an ancient civilization. This is exactly what you want in a collaboration such as this…the best aspects of both Collapsar and Rasalhague brought together, without sounding derivative of either project. Limited to just 500 copies, in slim, fold out eco-wallet, this is of course a must for all those that appreciate dark ambience that goes beyond the realms of the ordinary.. $4.00

Maeror Tri - Emotional Engramm (Zoharum: Zohar034)
The reissue of a long-forgotten classic Maeror Tri album with stunning new artwork and newly remastered sound. Back in 1997, it turned out to be the last album by this experimental trio of German droners . During their nine-year existence, they recorded a handful of albums and cassettes with their unique mixture of minimalism, industrial, ambient and drone, exploring the brains of potential listeners. "Emotional Engramm” is Maeror Tri's most refined effort to date. After years of experimenting, the group came to a characteristic sound composed of layers of electrically/electronically-treated acoustic instruments, with their organic sound achieving it's most accessible form on "Emotional Engramm”. Clocking in at just under 80 minutes, the seven tracks presented here show Maeror Tri at its best.
The reissue is presented in a lavish 6-panel digipak designed by Marcin Lojek (Ibsen Design, New Nihilism label, Mantichora and Schmerz bands) with a foreword by Martyn Bates (Eyeless in Gaza). The album has been faithfully remastered by Lukasz Miernik (Dead Cat Mastering).. $10.67

Maldur Atai - Umbra Nihili I (Autarkeia: MTXCD07)
After nearly two years of silence, Maldur Atai returns with a "retrospective" remix album – Umbra Nihili I. This is the first record of the project, released under the Moontrix label. So far, four albums and three short vinyls of Maldur Atai have been released by Autarkeia.
Born in early 2010, an idea of remix album was transforming and evolving along with the microstages of Maldur Atai activity. The concept of the Umbra Nihili album series was inspired and framed by the perception that every aspect of reality is divided into two sides only until the mechanical moon-shaped puzzle found in mystic temples of Nepal is solved. It is a moment of change and endeavour to reassess the previous heights and abysses and to start a new cycle with one more opportunity to unfold the riddle of the last tabula rasa.
The sound system of Maldur Atai is a result of integration of various approaches and energy parts composing them. While designing the Umbra Nihili I, it was designed to involve as many factors as possible to influence the final structure of work. It is no coincidence that ultimate shape of the album concept was formed by friends from Lithuania (Oorchach, Skeldos, Pogrom), America (Voice Of Eye), and Sweden – (Deutsch Nepal). Final sound adjustments were made by Colin Potter, a magician of electronic music. A diverse yet cohesive collection of sounds, mostly living in the realm of the sublime, ambient and hypnotic, with periodic diversions into more abrasive areas.. $10.00

Mania - Foul Inside 3inch CD (Freak Animal: FreakCD92)
Mania has had several releases on Freak Animal. While one can always conclude that each of the releases has been different, they have the same overall sound palette. Brute electronics, feedback, metal junk, scarcely used vocals. Hardly power electronics, but also not material what would file under standard noise. Mania has such a recognizable sound. For example, listening to a compilation that is full of unknown and anonymous noise, his material always stands out clearly as Mania. This type of personality is rare in genre of noise. “Foul Inside” continues his work flawlessly: It is most definitely Mania, but slightly more abstract and slower moving perhaps? To fully analyze what precisely makes it different from all things in past, is hard, but one can clearly feel it instantly in first listening.
When asking Mania himself, his approach was very down to earth: “I had three unreleased tracks plus a new piece I like.” Benefits of the format was simply that “The 4 tracks fit the length well.” Tracks are presented in one solid 20 minute piece, without indexing or giving specific details, capturing similar feel as Mania tapes have had. $8.99

Manifest - Reunion Psyche CDr (Shadowgraph: Shadow03)
Delirious, surreal atmospheres filled with disembodied female voices and sounds, forged in an almost fractured, collaged manner with haunting melodies and creepy, nightmare infused noises drifting in and out of the mix. Manifesto - Exit CD (Reverse Alignment: RA-22)
Being a part of the alternative scene since more than 15 years past, Magnus Zetterberg's Manifesto has created a trademark of bleak and dark electronica, industrial textures and blackened ambient that satisfies a diverse taste of listening with it's manifold expression. Catching up with this act in 2008, in connection with the release of the album Core, the label found it only natural to get in touch again. Since then, Manifesto has released material on such labels as Silken Tofu and Bone Structure (to mention a few) and played live across northern Europe.
Exit is the finalization of four years of transformative work where turbulence, creation and re-creation sets the thematics. The entering track unfolds existence as elusive and impermanent and onwards the harsh sides of reality push us towards entropy.. $13.33

Manikari - L'Océan Rêve Dans Sa Loisiveté (Second Session) CD (Zoharum: ZOHAR153-2)
Three years after the release of "Continuum Sonore Part 7>14" back in 2014, the remarkable French duo Maninkari returns to Zoharum catalogue with their new offering. Just like the title says, the new album is a continuation of the recordings entitled "L'Océan Rêve Dans Sa Loisiveté". Once again, the duo proves that they are unmatched in creating unbelievable and unclassifiable sound texture."L'Océan Rêve Dans Sa Loisiveté, Second Session" is much based on improvisation and leaves room for more melodies, especially for viola, the resonances of the bodhran and its repetitive rhythms gives access to a form of trance and have a character of composition. This album with the subjective title transports us in a frenetic universe where the sea mother of idleness reigns in all power, land and sea form a vibrant balance. The voluntary control of certain melodies is felt through cymbalom and santoor and sharp long ethereal resonances. The voluntary reverberation of certain instruments resounds like a dream prayer. The CD is housed in an ecopak sleeve and is strictly limited to 300 copies. The album was mastered and the cover was designed by Maninkari. The whole production process was overseen by Michał Porwet.. $11.33

Martyria - Martyria CD (Malignant: TumorCD117)
With its great textural depth, sepulchral atmospheres, and exotic, richly detailed ritualistic passages, the stunning, self-titled debut from the Greek male/female duo Martyria signifies the arrival of a vital new entry into the world of ritual/dark ambience and a welcome addition to the Malignant roster.
Running 41 minutes spread over five tracks, the disc opens with “Logos”, a haunting piece track of gorgeous female keening, angelically drifting over a bed of primitive Byzantine rhythms and liturgical chants. It deftly sets the tone and lays the foundation for the proceeding pieces, which move from bottomless, subterranean drift and luminescent drones, to more sinister realms marked by slow, tribal percussion, resonating wood instrumentation, and elongated vocalizations. All of it flows seamlessly, rising from tendrils of wood smoke and incense, rooted in spiritual and ceremonial darkness, and bound together by atavistic and organic means.

Maurizio Bianchi/Mauthausen Orchestra - Material Modulations (Old Europa Café: OECD165)
Second and final collaborative work by MB [Maurizio Bianchi] & MO [Mauthausen Orchestra], recorded before the premature departure of Pierpalo Zoppo, the man behind Maurhausen Orchestra (R.I.P.). I'm always a bit wary of releases like this, since they generally never deliver what you want or expect, at least based on historical output, and let's face it, both acts have been hit or miss with more recent output. So, I'm quite pleased to say, this delivers the goods, for the most part, with a roaring churn of distortion, factory din, loops, and atmospheric "noise" that's constantly in motion. A few other tracks aren't quite as dynamic - more wispy, piercing tones and singular frequency modulations, but still with that sense of decay.. $14.33

MB & MO - Spiritual Noises (Old Europa Café: OECD155)
Collaborative project between these two Italian industrial legends! To quote: ""Creating noise is determined by the presence of an original particle to which randomly apply an alteration to convey a voltage-activated disturbing that determinates the electro-phonic perturbation. As a result we obtain the SPIRITUAL NOISES". Err, OK...I guess I can hear that. Mostly I hear 5 "decompositions" comprised of syncopated, looping , morphing repetitions and locked grooves, noise effects, and buried melodies slathered or lightly spiced with distortion and a touch of grime. Definitely lo-fi, and perhaps not sonically all that stimulating, but like a lot of MB and MO, more about setting the mood.. $12.00

Mekanorganik - How to Extract Sunlight From Cucumbers (Neuropa: NRP26)
'How To Extract Sunlight From Cucumbers' is the debut album of the Belgian post industrial music formation MekanOrganiK, featuring three members of the well-known industrial percussion band MILITIA: Frank Gorissen, Sandra Janssen and Frank Van Hoof. They play rhythmic music using a combination of conventional instruments (percussion, guitar, effects, sequencer, wind instruments...) mixed with tools, machines and 'organic materials' such as wood, water, sand, stones, bones and skulls, glass and even cucumbers. The music of the album is based on the adventures of Lemuel Gulliver, the main character in Jonathan Swift's book 'Gulliver's Travels', which is a great and sophisticated satire of human nature based on Swift's experience of his times. 'Gulliver's Travels' is an anatomy of human nature and society and so is the music of MekanOrganiK. Stylistically, expect some resemblance at times to Militia (particularly in the sort of pulsating, rhythmic churn displayed in periodic tracks, such as Air Turbulence Machine, This Forest is Floating, or Biomechanoid), though this comes off as ultimately more experimental and psychedelic, offering a somewhat bizarre collection of textures, percussion, and noises. That being said, this has a great, hypnotic flow that begs to be listened to from start to finish. A nice companion to Militia, particularly when Neuropa has promised new work from them in the coming year. Cool, eh? I'm actually jealous.. $8.00

Melek-Tha - Apokalypsia (Necrocosm: Necro004)
Not new, but one we missed the first time around. The formula's been established, so if you've heard other Melek-Tha releases, than you pretty much know what to expect - dark and sinister apocalyptic sounds, with ominous orchestral tones and hellish atmospheres. At least parts of this are more ambient than some of the other stuff I remember hearing from Lord Evil, and for the most part, it really works. I'm not entirely sure why Melek-Tha doesn't get a lot of respect - maybe it's the sample heavy nature and blatant plagariasm of their early years, but I can't find too much at fault with this stuff.. $4.00

Michael Idehall - Aion Reborn CS (Raubbau: Raub065)
To those who enjoyed Michael Idehall's 'Prophecies of the Storm' release on Ant-Zen, Raubbau is proud to present a further outing of this outstanding artist's self-coined 'seancetronica' sound exploration - a one-of-a-kind combination of death industrial, apocalyptic tunes with a subliminal song structure and dark, structured ambience. Once again the Swedish producer/performer evokes a crude, vicious force carrying intense tempers of menace, aggression and sadness with a strong streak of esoteric themes and personal poetics shaping the mood and tone. Idehall's rich baritone intoning ritual chants and secretive whispers with a solemn atmosphere, highlight the arcane bent of the heavy electronics pushed with striking tautologic sequences. From sparse throbs and slow paced beats to cinematic ambient elements and industrial overtones, 'Aion Reborn' displays a captivating mixture of alluring vocals, throbbing bass, pounding beats, ominous drones and metallic tremors. An engaging album that provides a gripping and sometimes horrific tale from start to finish where the lack of an easy path for pursuit is part of the experience - hypnotic, forceful and savage. Mind & Flesh - Martyr Generation (Nuit Et Brouillard: Force007)
"Martyr Generation" is the first CD by the Oslo / Norway based musician Anders B. under the Mind & Flesh moniker. While initial recordings of his first industrial band, Katabol Process were done in summer 1996, Anders started to compose alone under the name Babyflesh around October 1998. Starting from that point, two full-length releases were recorded and produced: "Curiosity killed the Angel", CD-R on Slaughter Prod. in November 2002 and "New Wave of Cynicism", CD on Vendlus Records in February 2005.
Sometime in 2010, Anders B. decided to change the name into Mind & Flesh as he lost any connection with what could refer to "Babyflesh" as a name for a musical project. The nine tracks of "Martyr Generation" were recorded between 2005 and 2008. Among them two feature collaborations with other musicians.
The music of Mind & Flesh is a mix of dark & heavy analogue electronics and pounding rhythms with processed vocals. His sound can be filled under the Death Industrial genre, without any doubt. Monocube - The Rituals CD (Malignant: TumorCD101)
Following a recent appearance on Drone Mind Vol 5, Ukranian act Monocube makes his way into the halls of Malignant for his second, full length recording, featuring nine tracks and just over an hour worth of material ensconced in shadowy, enveloping atmospheres, intact with all the hallmarks of classic dark ambient: arcing, cinematic textures, elegiac melody, and timestretched drift. As The Rituals progresses, it becomes increasingly populated by something even more ominous and bleak; undertones of ancient tribalism and fiery invocations arise, mixed with the blackened soot of distant factory churn and the burning remnants of an ashen wasteland. Featuring collaborative tracks with Treha Sektori, Apocryphos, and Asmorod, The Rituals is an immersive and compelling work, seamlessly tied together by a binding embrace of darkness.

Mors Sonat - Comforts in Atrocity (Crucial Blast: CBR92)
Though the name may be new, those who explore the more terrifying sounds found at the intersection where black metal, industrial noise, power electronics and black ambiance meet surely know the minds behind this collaboration. Featuring Mories (of Gnaw Their Tongues / Aderlating / Cloak Of Altering / De Magia Veterum infamy) and Australian black noise/metal technician Nekrasov, Mors Sonat sounds little like their other projects, crafting a cold, hallucinatory strain of aural dread that draws from a strange mixture of twilight chamber music, ghastly death industrial sounds, harsh electronic noise and gleaming dark ambient, while tapping into the sort of psychic unease and violent chaos that will be familiar to fans of their previous efforts.
It's definitely a much more atmospheric and often subdued sonic terrain that Mors Sonat explores on 'Comforts In Atrocity'. Across the six long tracks, they blend together darkly gorgeous chamber music sounds (aided by guest cellist Aaron Martin,) with blasts of excoriating black noise, pools of cloudy dark ambiance, clanking industrial horror, and vicious bouts of power electronics-style abuse.
Recommended to fans of everything from Funerary Call and Nordvargr's blackened electronics, Shinjuku Thief's 'Witch Trilogy', and Cold Meat-style death industrial, the Cd edition presented in a six panel digipack.. $10.00

Mount Shrine - Winter Restlessness CD (Cryo Chamber: Cryo099)
Mount Shrine (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) serves us a warm and inviting ambient album.
Rain pounds the temple as you look out across snowy mountains from a lotus position. A wet furred hare seeks refuge beside you, curious about the kettle of hot tea that rests at your side.
A distress call led you here, transmitted to a frequency on your Ham radio. The journey here was long and filled with majestic sights. Isolated villages, melting snow in forgotten valleys, the robed order of the silent all calmed your mind. The rolling fog followed you every step of the way to enlightenment.
Recommended for lovers of subtle field recordings and sleep ambient. Warm, inviting and atmospheric. Best enjoyed with a cup of hot beverage on a rainy day.. $13.50

Murderous Vision - Ghosts of the Soul Long Lost DCD (Live Bait: LBRF022)
Ghosts of the Soul Long Lost is the title used to harness out of print, rare and unreleased archival material by long standing dark industrial act Murderous Vision. This second volume in the series contains two full length albums and bonus tracks that showcase the more Death Ambient and Neo-Classical side of the project. Disc one is an unreleased album written and recorded from 2006-2008 called "Cathartic Drifts in a Sea of Sadness". Showcasing the neo-classical elements in the forefront with a grinding underbelly of post-industrial textures and demonic vocal drifts. Features 2 bonus tracks, not included on the original release. Mystery of Life - Siyanie CD (Zhelezobeton: ZHB-121)
The third full-length album by the project of Sergey Ilchuk (ex-Vresnit, ex-Vetvei) and Dmitriy Shilov (Neznamo, Peal Grim, Magickal Things) has gathered materials recorded at three live gigs in 2012-2013 and completed in the studio in 2012-2015.

The CD is packed in a matte 6-panel digisleeve with artwork by Sergey Ilchuk. Sound mastering performed by Sergey Bulychov (Kshatriy). The edition is limited to 300 copies.. $5.00
