Abjection Ritual - Soul of Ruin, Body of Filth CD (Malignant: TumorCD113)
With their second full length record for Malignant Records, Abjection Ritual emerge a far different beast, now fully untethered by genre constraints and conventions. Soul of Ruin, Body of Filth is a vast progression from past releases, incorporating guitars, bass and a live drummer into their arsenal, and in doing so have crafted a far more diverse, idiosyncratic vision, while retaining the atmospherics of heavy electronics and industrial ambience. Like a hybrid of Enemy of the Sun era Neurosis, early Swans, Godflesh, IRM and Khanate mixed with the caustic doom sludge of Halo and Indian, Soul of Ruin, Body of Filth is a crushingly visceral and eclectic journey that destroys preconceptions and leaves any true classifications in tatters. Featuring vocal contributions from Rennie Resmini (Starkweather) and Christopher Ropes. In 6 panel digipak with cover art by Jef Whitehead (Leviathan)
""... hideously dark and mechanical sludge-riffed death industrial..." Grizzly Butts
"the ugliest, darkest fringes of sludge infected by industrial power electronics and pure noise...a fearful album to lose yourself in" Ninehertz

Abscheu - Pretense LP (Unrest Productions: UNPRLP18)
6 tracks, all with a discernible tension and volatility running throughout, bringing about near-frightening intensities through shifting zones of frayed, heavy electronics, deadening rhythmic elements, and lurching, mechanized loops. Swarms of highly charged drones and nauseating, flanged vocals add a threatening sense of hostility and aggression,
"From Europe to Middle East via Sub-Saharan Africa, Abscheu have been watching some of the most determined acts of violence. Studying how bloodthirsty groups wash their hands by adorning their motivation with divine command. Seeing zealots justify murderous wrath by invoking their favorite sacred book whenever necessary. A self-proclaimed court where justice is selectively rendered. A confusing purgatory where hatred is given a legitimacy. A sneaky trickery designed to mislead one's enemies in the maze of one's lies. «Pretense» is the exploration of that system from various perspectives. «Pretense» is an unquestionable judgment before men – definitely not before that thing they call god.". $20.67

Ager Sonus - Necropolis CD (Cryo Chamber: Cryo089)
Ager Sonus is back with his second Egyptian themed album on Cryo Chamber, the first being Book of the Black Earth.
You open your eyes. Darkness. Silence. Oppressing silence. Your breath feels shallow, the air too thin to breathe. The space you are in feels narrow, the ceiling so close you can almost touch it. Your heart starts pounding as the feeling of panic brings you to your senses. You seem to be.. Underground, buried!
How did you get here? Fragments of your memories hover in front of you in the darkness like thin layers of fog, guiding you. Sand.. A desert.. Symbols.. Hieroglyphs… A faint voice calling you..
Ager Sonus brings us an ambient album set against the backdrop of lost civilization. Explore occult secrets buried in ancient tombs.. $12.99

Ain Soph - Finis Gloriae Mundi CD (Old Europa Café: OECD256)
16 years after 'Oktober' and 26 after the seminal 'Aurora' here comes the third part of trilogy on the "Modern World". Six surprising and very mature tracks with sounds ranging from Velvet Undergound'ish psychedelia to dark industrial, from European cabaret to rhythms, from crooner songs to esoteric ritual, but most of all the entire album has this unique "magic and spiritual" feeling that only Ain Soph can create. Special guest vocals by Dara de Morte on 'Ombre Nel Silenzio' and Annabel Moynihan (Blood Axis) on 'God Is At Home'.. $13.67

Anemone Tube - The Three Worlds: Allegory of Vanity CD (Laesencia: LER018)
Far reaching pleasures will be at hand – Anemone Tube reveals a series of three CDs entitled “The Three Worlds: Allegory of Vanity / Forget Heaven / Vanity of Allegory”, referencing a cosmological treatise on the universe from the Theravada Buddhism of the 14th century, the subject matter of which is the description of three levels of existence of all beings and mythical creatures.
This extensive retrospective release contains selected tracks from various tapes released between 1997 and 1999 - mostly rare and unavailable today - as well as yet unreleased tracks recorded between 1997 and 2013, a.o. outtakes from the “Death Over China” recordings, handpicked and recontextualized by Anemone Tube, representing the project’s roughest and most atmospheric material up to date, ranging from depressive ritual experimental ambient over dark rhythmic industrial soundscapes to whirlwind noise. Sharply mastered by Hunter Barr for a powerful, contemporary sound, each CD comes in a 6-panel digifile featuring beautiful photography by Dario Lehner
“The Three Worlds” is a work about transience on many levels, perfectly elucidated in the Buddhist Sutra “Far Reaching Pleasures”, “The three worlds are transient like clouds in autumn / Birth and death of all beings unfold like a dance / Their lives rush away like a mountain stream / Vanish like lightning in the sky”, which serves as the contextual framework for the CD series and is translated in the most beautiful and poetic fashion with three painstakingly arranged photographic scenes based on vanitas symbolism of old masters’ paintings. The still life composition of the “Allegory of Vanity” cover references an abundance of those symbols: jewellery, a pocket watch, a catholic hymnal, skull and bones, withered flowers, a tipped over jug of wine, an extinguished candle, etc. Two collaboration tracks with Yggdrasil from 1997, two from the “Allegories for the Future” cassette and an unreleased track from 1998 are a perfect representation of Anemone Tube’s early old-school industrial / power-electronics phase, and yet proof that both the musical approach and the topical background were already fully developed at that stage.. $12.67

“Forget Heaven” addresses more celestial matters and shows the artist playing with soap bubbles (a classic vanitas symbol as well, a hint at the fleetingness of the moment) – reflections of light in the dark create the image of a starry sky, the universe. The CD features the entirety of the “Forget Heaven“ cassette release, plus three compilation and two unreleased tracks. The sound spectrum is more immense, from aggravating noise to ethereal, ritual beauty.. $12.67

All that is combined with poetry suggesting the dissolution of the ego, seemingly closing the circle. Besides collected tracks from old and recent cassette releases and compilations, this also features three unreleased tracks from the “Death Over China” recordings and therefore represents the newest cut from the trilogy and thus musically bridges the gap to the recent works of Anemone Tube with their profound depth and complexity of sound.. $12.67

Anima Nostra - Atraments CS (Cloister Recordings: Crus33)
Cassette version of Atraments, which includes a bonus demo version of "Solemn Majesty". Pro-dubbed chrome tapes and limited to 100 copies.
Initially the name of a collaborative CD between Henrik Nordvargr Björkk and Margaux Renaudin released on Cold Spring in 2016, the duo have now relabeled and solidified themselves under the Anima Nostra moniker, and in turn, broadly expanded their sonic palette, taking the more intimate ritual ambient aspects of the debut, and incorporating them as part of towering constructs that blur the line between death industrial, doom metal, and neo-classical. With it’s upward swells of foreboding brass, fearsome tribal percussion, and hammering, bass heavy dirge, “Atraments” is the unleashing of something truly monumental and cataclysmic, eclipsing nearly everything Nordvargr has ever been associated with in of scope and grandeur. Integral and prominent in the mix are heavily serrated and imperious vocals, employed to drag the listener inexorably into an inferno of apocalyptic proportions, while adding a more structured “song” element and trumpeting the arrival of an inevitable doom. “Atraments” stands firmly as a vision complete and the perfect soundtrack for times of great tumult.Completed with artwork by Thomas Ekelund (Trepaneringsritualen) and Portugese occult calligrapher Gordoletters. Cassette layout by Eric henderson.. $7.00

Apoptose - Die Zukunft CD (Tesco: Tesco128)
“Wir sitzen in unseren Zimmern und draußen wird unsere Zukunft zerstört.” We sit in our rooms and outside our future is destroyed. This line sets the tone for Apoptoses’s sixth longplayer “Die Zukunft”. Sometimes you don’t have to travel far to see and feel desolation. Your hometown, your room or even your head can turn into an overwhelming world full of fear or confusion – from initial alienation to the unsettling moment when just the voices in your head seem to know what is right or wrong. All this is palpable in the songs of “Die Zukunft”. Instead of painting these voices in colours of terror, Apoptose shows their inherent beauty in super dark electronics with slow motion rhythms.
In the four years of production Apoptose selected a wide range of different singers for this album. Most outstanding is classical trained tenor Daniel Sans. He sings “What Power Art Thou” – a song that was composed by Henry Purcell in the late 17th century. Apoptose and Sans preserve the complex harmonic structure of the original translating it into a breathtaking five minute ride in apoptotic soundspheres. They succeed in conjuring up Purcell’s “cold genius” that had already fascinated legendary countertenor Klaus Nomi in the 1980s. Other voices on “Die Zukunft” include the gloomy spoken words of the advance single “Time-lapse City”, the lost girl’s voice on the title track and two female singers on “Dornen”. Consistent with the album title Apoptose does not look back, but is heading for novel territories within the dark ambient music. $14.67

Arktau Eos - Erēmos CD (Aural Hypnox: AH19)
Arktau Eos unveil a new album, Erēmos, one of their most involved and intense creations. While intentionally minimal on the surface, layer upon layer of subtle, haunting, and evocative sounds are slowly revealed to the attentive listener. Erēmos aims at nothing less than the total transition of the listener to the desert realms implied by the title. Old synthesizers and ritualistic acoustic elements are seamlessly blended with even more obscure aural phenomena, including field recordings done in Northern Finland and the untamed steppes of Mongolia.
As has been the testimony of wise men and women of all faiths, solitude bestows its own distinct gifts upon the seeker, a process here treated in less intimate terms than on the voice-led Catacomb Resonator. Erēmos is more expansive; the desert that opens before the listener is not a locus of temptations or simple retreat, but a vivid inner mindscape of dramatic confrontations and transformations between flora, fauna, stellar matter, earth, and stone. Gradually they shed away the humanness in its most banal sense, until man identifies with the scorpionic voice of power that carries to the ends of the earth – and cosmos.
Erēmos is exactly 49 minutes long, split in 9 nine distinct segments, released in an edition of 440 pcs. The CD is enclosed in customised, screen printed cardboard covers including an oversized folded insert on old paper stock. Once again, Arktau Eos have closely collaborated with artist KTL on the artwork.
Arktau Eos are considering the release of thematically related but independent recordings in the Repository series, which is but one of the projects they are currently working on.. $14.33

Arum Lilies - Dismal Fantasies CD (Death Continues: DCRCD012)
Arum Lilies is Mark Groves's (Australian artist) power-electronics solo project, and "Dismal Fantasies" is his debut album under this moniker. Recorded in the heat of Melbourne’s summer. Clammy evenings spent manipulating a dusty Tascam 424 MKII while drinking cheap white wine and beer in front of a fan that may be audible in quieter passages. An attempt to progress an earlier line, Arum Lilies takes processes and themes established when working on the Von Einem recordings, and repositions them. Source matter has been drawn from a wider geographic range, and the tone more intimate. Minimal yet cold and disturbing pieces with oscillating frequencies, natural ambience, and whispered vocals not only gives this a creepy, B movie kind of feel, but a real voyeuristic vibe.. $14.33

Dark drone, industrial beats and brooding choirs set the tone for exploration of a world beyond the illusion.
"Deep in the roots of the citadel a sea of white robes ever flows. Those Fallen from Elysium kneel here, with blissful smiles and fearful eyes.
The sorrowful melancholia of a thousand whispered prayers lies heavy about the place. Prayers for the Demiurge to return, and grant them once more the warm embrace of their paradise."

Atrium Carceri/Cities Last Broadcast/God Body Disconnect - Miles to Midnight CD (Cryo Chamber: Cryo081)
Atrium Carceri, Cities Last Broadcast and God Body Disconnect collaborates on this foggy noir album.
The invitation came in a cinnamon scented envelope. It had been years since your last visit to the hotel, before the headlines of murder had shut it down. Was it re-opened after all these years?
A bottle of pills later, your car pulled up outside the old building. The lights were on, struggling to cut through the heavy fog. Distant voices and music lingered like smoke as you entered the lobby.
Miles to Midnight is a Dark Jazz Ambient album with a Lynchian Noir feel: A hotel trapped between two worlds and a detective with a traumatized past.
God Body Disconnect's live jazz drums and cinematic wall-of-sound builds the foundation of the mysterious hotel. Cities Last Broadcast brings ghostly tape loops and melodies stuck in time. Atrium Carceri dusts off his old pianos and shatters reality with low bass rumbles and brings you into the other side of the hotel. For lovers of smokey soundtracks to unwritten movies.. $12.99

Atrium Carceri/Herbst9 - Ur Djupan Dal CD (Cryo Chamber: Cryo082)
Ambient Veterans Atrium Carceri & Herbst9 team up on this mysterious album
The harbor was humid and hot in this mysterious land, nothing like the frosty cold ports of home. Yellow smoke danced to the beat of the drum joined by hypnotic women. The crowd spiraled inward, dancing to far away bells and the murmur beneath the ground.
You awoke sweat clad in linen sheets, the naked woman passed a long pipe. The cherry sparked red like a dragons eye. Head leaned back against a soft pillow, body free falling from soothed skies. A thud as your body hit the ground on a pathway built by giants.
Chanting, ritual drumming and spoken word weave in and out of this album that pays tribute to the old ways.. $12.99

Barry Adamson+Panasonic+The Hafler Trio - The Hymn of the 7th Illusion LP (Cold Spring: CSR241LP)
Pan Sonic, arranged and edited by Barry Adamson (Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Magazine), with an additional re-arrangement by The Hafler Trio.
Here, Barry Adamson and Pan Sonic is performed by the Hljomeyki choir and Pan Sonic. "...a blend of an Icelandic choir performing Barry's (treated) microtonal, urgent score is slowly infiltrated, first with an electronic breath and then by well-rounded bass that evolves into a satisfactory crescendo before the scary humhum returns... highly successful" (Vital Weekly).
The Hafler Trio's wonderful extended reworking "weaves strong drones together before levelling them to start anew. At times it sounds eerily like the soundtrack to "the monolith" from Stanley Kubrick's 2001: A Space Odyssey, but the intermittent digital crackles and processing bring the listener forcefully up to the present tense. If you are interested in abstract and experimental electronic music, the Hafler Trio deliver a solid remix".
35 minutes. Originally released on CD by Icelandic label Kitchen Motors in 2001, now released on vinyl for the first time by Cold Spring.
Produced by Barry Adamson, Jóhann Jóhannsson, and Pan Sonic. The cover art features Icelandic electronic composer Magnús Blöndal Jóhannsson having a brain scan performed while listening to this disc.

BizarreSickSeedMania - II CD (Freak Animal: BSSMIICD)
In 2010, Freak Animal and Filth & Violence issued ”What’s Your Pleasure,Sir?” LP by collaboration project of Bizarre Uproar, Sick Seed and Mania.Highly praised collaboration of these provocateurs of noise underground didn’t gain it’s praise based on it’s offensiveness, but because of artistic strength. High energy levels of brutal noise makes album to stand out in mass of bleak releases. Freak Animal is still planning to reissue this album on CD during 2018.
Second collaboration of BizarreSSmania doesn’t repeat the exact same patterns. It is logical result, but also fresh. Each project has developed their sound and style during almost 10 years gap between these two releases. Second time they meet represents the fusion of current sound of projects. Bleak, rotten, crude and fierce combinations of many of the elements that each project is known for – but with different type of results what they did last time or what they do in solo works.Slowly starting broken crackling, damaged fuzzy lo-fi sound, experimentation of utterly dirty and disgusting sounds that present album often to be what many noise releases are not: Difficult. You are guaranteed to get satisfactory amount of pure energetic noise bursts, but also disturbing, unnerving sonic damage. Raw edits and abrupt changes of atmosphere finally makes sense when you hear album as whole. It’s no use to listen couple minute fragments to preview full album.Explicit artwork (censored here) and theme, please be aware!!. $12.67

Bizarre Uproar's 2012 album shows the band in it's slow paced movement towards new directions. A logical continuum of Bizarre Uproar's output!. $13.67

Blakk Harbor - Madares CD (Ant-Zen: Act366)
Madares' is the first album by Blakk Harbor a.k.a. Angelos Liaros (Mobthrow), a Greek artist based in Berlin. The album is named after and inspired by the dune mountains of Crete, whose moonlike landscape was a sacred land of ancient ceremonies. Inspiring the music as well as the cover and artwork, most of the percussive samples and drones on the album were created by recording traditional custom Cretan instruments (lute, skin drums, lyra, tsabouna) and world instruments (Tibetan bowls, gongs, Dungchen horns) granulized through modular synths, hardware samplers and spacetime black holes.
Blakk Harbor guides the listener into an audible intersection between the traditional and the modern, between relief and tension, between secularness and spirituality. Sampled acoustic folk instruments, shamanic percussion and experimental electronics enriched with ritual drones create a dark, moody twist of tribalistic ambiance and subliminal driving force. Omnipresent dark moods permanently interact with cinematic bright spheres to achieve a perfectly balanced equation.
Brilliantly produced and elegantly arranged, Blakk Harbor presents an excellent debut of varied musical and spiritual realms. Highly recommended to those who are willing to take a look beyond the obvious surface.. $13.50

It will pull you across the vast stretches of the mighty Pacific Ocean, dragging you down to it's murky depths and across it's vast plains before depositing you in to the deep trenches and ridges that lurk there. Polluted by radiation and man's indifference to nature, 'The Radiant Sea' continues in its struggle to restore the balance and maintain its beauty and dignity.

C.3.3. - Ballad of Reading Gaol – The Cacophonietta CD (Cold Spring: CSR255CD)
C.3.3. is a personal project from Paul Jamrozy, co-founder of original industrial agitators TEST DEPT..
The work is inspired by the real life experience of Her Majesty’s Prison Reading. Tracing the history of the location through to the present current political and social situation, evoking the harsh realities of Victorian and modern day Britain.
Reminiscent of the finest mid-era TEST DEPT., such as “Gododdin” or “Pax Britannica”, with heavy percussion, strings, and strident vocals.
The title C.3.3. is drawn from the cell number where the literary figure Oscar Wilde was incarcerated in Reading Gaol under gross indecency charges. C.3.3. was the pseudonym used for the publication “The Ballad of Reading Gaol”, a poem based on the execution of a fellow inmate.
This sonic rendition draws upon the writings of Wilde’s poem and the horrors of prison life for a condemned man, as a metaphor for the universal predicament of all humankind.
Remastered with 2 bonus tracks, featuring TEST DEPT. and presented in a 6-panel digipak.. $12.50

Chöd ‎ - Bardo Thodol 2CD (Old Captain: OCCD34)
The Tibetan word "Chöd" means "to cut off' or "to slay", represented in icons by the victory banner and ritual knife. In Chöd, an adept symbolically offers the flesh of their body in a form of a tantric feast. The skin of the practitioner's body represents surface reality or maya: it is cut from bones, the true reality of the mindstream. The similarities between the Chöd ritual and the prototypical initiation of a shaman are obvious, although there is an essential difference between the two: the shaman's initiation is involuntary, whilst a Chod(pa) chooses to undertake the ritual death of a Chod ceremony as a will. Traditionally, Chöd is regarded as challenging, potentially dangerous and inappropriate practice for meditating practitioners. An external Chöd is to wander in fearful places where there are deities and demons, whereas an internal Chöd offers one's own body as food to the deities and demons: the Ultimate Chöd is to realize the true nature of the mind and cut through ignorance. Enter the charnel fields of the obscure monk of the Chöd project to witness the offering of a corpse to the vultures of the tradition that inspires terror. The object of ignorance, the root of samsara, which is holding the "I" as truly existent must be killed as the inner enemy, delusions, and the way of the dharma practice: to achieve liberation, ultimate happiness, cessation of all the sufferings, rebirth and death. Pure occult Evropean tradition in flesh and bones to hurt you. Filed alongside Zero Kama or Ain Soph. Raw, elemental, primordial 22 tracks / 100 minutes of the original ritual retrieved from 1996-1999 DAT-tapes. The layout is executed by Mauro Berchi (Eibon Records). A 300 2CD edition of Chöd's legacy in a 4-panel matte-laminated Digipak.. $14.67

Coil presents Black Light District - A Thousand Lights in a Darkened Room CD (Infinite Fog: CBLD01)
Re-issue of a 1996 on Eskaton, this release сontains two bonus tracks: 11 is previously unreleased; 12 was previously released on Eskaton vinyl editions
Tucked into the middle of their discography, this album is often overlooked in ranking Coil's output. This might be their peak. With the acid house experiment fully rinsed from their system, but before donning tinfoil hats for the Time Machine-era recordings, they created Black Light District: dense, atmospheric, textured, and utterly unique compositions that showcased their considerable creativity finally matched to modern, high-fidelity recording. When someone asks "where do I start with Coil?", this is a crucial early step.. $14.67

Control - Blood Will Rain CD (Ant-Zen: Act380CD)
The pious pretense that evil does not exist only makes it vague, enormous and menacing.'
With his new album 'Blood Will Rain' Control presents a release which is a status report of a journey into an artist's saturnine inner self. The sound shows a slight shift in direction from Control's power electronics basics towards death industrial whereat deep, dark soundscapes play a decisive foundational role. Enduring pulses of apparent and sometimes concealed rhythms overlaid with resonant metallic drones and tortured voice treatments evoke a dramatic atmosphere of maleficant trance. An electronically generated ritual music caused by the combination of hypnotic, cavernous and perpetual aggressive elements.
This most sable release in Control's history is a soundtrack for incantations of many kinds: chaos, suffering, enlightenment. Able to establish fraternal bonds between artist and listener, 'blood will rain' might be used to open up as yet closed, or even hidden doors. Be prepared.. $13.50

Corrupted - Felicific Algorithim 12inch LP (Cold Spring: CSR240LP)
Corrupted is a mysterious Japanese doom metal band, formed in 1994. Immensely downtuned guitar and crushingly slow bass are shrouded under deep layers of feedback. They are rightly hailed as one of the heaviest and darkest doom metal bands of all time.
"Humankind's folly it its continuing idiocy. This is the beginning of the "Hollow" series. The schoolyard of the school was buried in the mountains of radioactive contaminated rubble. We cannot hear children's voices from anywhere. I hear it is the world of sound of only footsteps and the warning sound of the Geiger counter..." (Chew Hasegawa)

Dead Melodies - The Foundation of Ruins CD (Cryo Chamber: Cryo094)
Dead Melodies is back with his second album on Cryo Chamber, The Foundations of Ruin. Following on from his last album, Legends of the Wood we return to the isle of mist and dig deeper into the narrative.
"The wrought iron gate creaks open to the overgrown driveway. Up ahead, flickers of lightning make out the hazy silhouette of a large house veiled in a dense fog. Shelter! Finally, somewhere to rest your head after that terrifying ordeal in the wood.
The house, a ruinous crumbling remnant of better days stands lonesome in the unruly grounds; like a keeper bestowed with time itself. An ornate wooden door hangs broken on its hinge, the windows cracked and vines creep wildly from every crevice like tendrils from the netherworld. Something definitely feels wrong here, but with hours till dawn and the relentless storm wailing through the surrounding trees, the will to survive the night defeats all reason to fear this shady forgotten sanctuary.
Stepping inside the once stately ruin, the great hall teems with decay and an age of sedimentary dust covers every surface; any remnants of life that once knew this place are long gone. Doors and stairwells stem off in all directions. With a creaking silence and a deathly stillness consuming the air, you contemplate which way to go. But then, a noise… is someone there? The temperature drops and a familiar chill runs down your spine…."

Distel - Wapens CD (Ant-Zen: Act378)
Underneath Distel's third full length release lies a thorough personal re-evaluation of truth, unveiling and being. 'Wapens' is the Dutch word for 'weapons' and also translates to 'family crests' or 'coats of arms'. However, a third sense, more specifically related to the kindred word 'wapenen', is explored in the title track's lyrics which propose a state of being wherein the self becomes an existential monolith - becomes focally reinforced in the sense that its presence refers first and foremost to only its own individual being instead of the networks of meaning that we tend to define ourselves by.
Distel's intention while working on this album was to achieve a more direct, massive and monolithic sound than before: to channel most energy through an insistent impulse within the rhythmic and melodic movement - from stomping stabs to legato motion - and make every other embellishment secondary. This initial thought is the core of the music on this album and an overall synthesized modern classical mode is the guideline for new tracks. another aim is to show more colour, truth and openness - and this openness is obviously echoed in the sound of the album itself. thematically 'Wapens' includes many references to end times, apocalyptic visions, embodiment and authenticity towards death. While its predecessors presented the 'muffled sounds from within', now the pandora's box has been opened for all to gaze upon its vast spectrum of horrors.
The self-applied tag 'ultra / angst pop' could now be redefined from the original industrial-based minimal electronics into a unique contemporary strain of high energy synth-pop-noir, or 'dark energy'. A quite evocative mixture of excellent subliminal rhythm machine programming, predominant purging keyboard lines and swirling spectral vocals result in twisted dark wave pieces with a catchy approach carrying an overwhelming, coercive energy.. $13.66

Dødsmaskin - Fiende CD (Cyclic Law: 107thCycle)
On their latest album the Norwegian duo pushes some of the hard hitting, mechanically textured aesthetics of their previous release “Fullstendig Brent” to the forefront. A dystopian commentary on the risks inherent to the antagonistic nature of humankind, and how the overwhelming and uncertain scope of Industry 4.0 - of progressively more powerful technology and strong AI - may end up amplifying those risks beyond human control. Given this conceptual framework, Dødsmaskin have aimed to develop a sound palette that shifts between both droning and pulsating brutality that represents unstoppable forces in motion and bleak atmospheres that denote an age of growing futility and - ultimately - self-inflicted extinction. Dødsmaskin - Ingenting CD (Cyclic Law: 106thCycle)
“Ingenting” was first finalised in June 2015 and shrouded in almost complete secrecy. Being their original debut it somehow never had a proper release, untill now. When contemplating a human face through the eyes of an x-ray machine, the void it projects back can be unsettling. This cranial frame, stripped of life; a reminder of the finite frontiers that constrain our transitory institutions, and the nothingness that precedes and succeeds them. However, while we occupy this bodily state, nothingness is detached neither from comprehension nor experience. Rather, it is interacting; mirrored in the human inclination to manifest its imprint time and time again through a continuous spiral of intellectual and material destruction. And its catalyst is also a testament to its paradox: the human impulse to escape it by any means necessary. “Ingenting” is a well balanced introduction to the core elements of the Dødsmaskin’s sound where extreme measures were used in order to capture the right physics sonically, such as having a 1000-ton freight train powering over recording devices, the process was an intense undertaking and the resulting harsh sonic textural walls that collide with more atmospheric passages are some of the most unique we’ve heard. Eidulon - Combustioni CD (Malignant: TumorCD111)

Following an 11 year absence since his debut, Idolatriae, Eidulon returns a radically different entity. Whereas Idolatriae was haunting and minimal catacomb ambience, Combustioni is otherwise now a daunting, full on apocalyptic industrial, auditory excursion, complete with crushingly ominous brass chords, fearsome horn proclamations, organ, and doom filled atmospherics. Contributions of murderous, gnarled vocals courtesy of Nordvargr and Luca Soi, as well as caustic noise from Italian heavy electronic practitioners Naxal Protocol (ex-Cazzodio) add a powerful element, often cutting through a blaze of swelling tones and pneumatic percussive pummel, the only respite coming in the form of collaborative tracks with Kammarheit and Caul, which sees Eidulon returning to the foggy gloom and bleak isolationism that populated the debut. Collectively, it’s quite the provocative declaration, shattering genre barriers and setting the soundtrack for a world of incinerated cities, global plagues, and nuclear winters.
In ultra-luxurious 10 panel, Maltese Cross digipak.
"... a much more assertive apocalyptic industrial excursion. Eidulon’s sound has grown both in volume and in confidence: it demands attention and focus and proclaims itself from on high rather than insinuating itself from the background. It’s a vortex of dissonant brass, organ and electronically generated noise, still heavy on atmosphere, but brimming with the confidence of a conquering army" Heathen Harvest. $8.00

Encephalophonic - Exhuming the Perversion 2CD (Industrial Recollections: IR-EETP01)
Industrial Recollections idea was to reissue sold out items, most often tapes, that Freak Animal felt necessary to reissue, but didn’t want to make main label discography too fragmented. Many such an small and obscure releases, that they are unlikely to be released by almost anybody else. Unlike plenty of releases that have already existing cult status and following - and therefore potential market. What exactly is "industrial" and what exactly constitutes "old enough" to warrant reissue, is very loose concept. Under Industrial Recollections label has happened reissues from 80's and 90's. Musically, anything vaguely rooted to traditions of industrial. From industrial noise to power electronics and experimental works. Now, with Encephalophonic tape re-issues, IR takes quite a big leap forward. It has been question I have been pondering - why would one need to wait 20 or 30 years to validate necessity of reissue? 2010-2011 when these early Encephalophonic tapes were done, is yet to reach even 10 years anniversary. Yet being unavailable for long and debut tape being nearly impossible to get even when it came out, to me, it was very clear that I rather put out 8 year old great noise tape, than remain too fixed to idea to only dig the long gone history. Encephalophonic as project is still very much active. It has progressed from early days, yet the core remains the same. What makes me consider Encephalophonic fit to industrial tradition is its content. Dark and abusive nature of recordings set it far away from heart warming jams and free-noise energy blasts. Of course, there is energy and ripping power, but it is razor sharp, cold and cruel and filled with destructive feel. Combined with negative feel of sound samples emerging between some tracks, band steps away from usual spirit known from Japanese harsh noise. While music nods towards masters of Japanese noise, Kazumoto Endo, Pain Jerk and such, Encephalophonic stays away from contemporary cut-up in means of technological methods. Lack of post-production and computer editing, keeps sound of physical and full of flesh and blood. Double CD with booklet including reproductions of all original artworks of tapes and added sleaze.. $15.67

Entre Vifs - Ontologie CD (Aussaat: Aussaat06)
New release from this long standing, "bruitiste" project, “Ontologie” offers a selection of extracts from their best recent sessions.
Each of these excerpts have been positioned so that they appear like bruitiste pieces, composed with care, even though all of these pieces are played live. Each time, it is a symphony of noises, extremely varied in intensity and frequency where one can distinguish, with precision, the sound detached from its original source. Entre Vifs’ noise generators are delicate and relatively small in size, but the sounds they produce through mechanical means are captured by electric guitar pickups and piezoelectric cells, then sent to a battery of amplifiers and homemade effect processors. The effect is quite massive, however it is not only a question of volume but a stereophonic depth effect where sonic masses seem to thicken and change continuously.. $13.00

They came without warning.

Complete with 2 additional tracks recorded around the same time and formerly released on the Monochrome Meditator MC only (SSSM / Japan 1991). The perfect balance of power electronic, rhythm based tracks as well as dark drowning ambient pieces with haunting samples. The two additional tracks, so far unknown to the majority, are fitting perfectly to the line-up of the early industrial-rhythm driven sound of the band. Hadewych - Welving CD (Malignant: TumorCD115)
Though the project of Dutchman Peter Johan Nÿland, contributions from members of Trepaneringsritualen, Dead Neanderthals, Turia and veteran experimental vocalist Greetje Bijma, help Hadewych to function more as a collective as it amorphously shapeshifts and navigates through a broad swath of styles. And yet, Welving is so finely honed and skillfully crafted, that it works as a singular, whole, never losing a firm grasp on what remains at the core of its unique and dynamic sound. Still, it is nearly impossible to classify or define, utilizing a broad array of instrumentation, working in the monolithic, organic and the acoustic, and filtering it through a complex network of darkened, post-industrial, post-black, ritual hallucinations, and noir-ish Bohren And Der Club Of Gore deathjazz, with a steady stream of insistent bass, percussion, and spoken narrative to propel many of the tracks forward. Hadewych defines their music as black rituals channeling the ultra-grotesque, which is about an apt description as you're going to find, and yet it's that vagueness and ambiguity that manages to sum them up perfectly. One of the most unique and exceptional releases under the Malignant banner, and highly recommended for those unafraid to venture into realms unknown.
"Heavy with dark mysticism and creative bravery, Welving constructs an intricate web of industrial, dark jazz, black metal, and more besides – as if Coil, Bohren And Der Club Of Gore, and 666 International-era Dodheimsgard wrote a record together. Welving is one of the most captivating, refreshingly unique records I have encountered in some time; and also one of the most rewarding. This is the kind of record that, if you let it, could take over your life....Though it is early days, Welving feels like one of the best records that will be released this year – it’s certainly one of the most adventurous and creatively daring". Textural, noisy, profound dark ambient with some pretty "melodic" patterns hidden behind layered noises and evolving drones. Astonishing, to say the least.. $12.00

Havenaire - Rabot CD (Glacial Movements: GM031)
Havenaire is John Roger Olsson, a composer, musician and producer based in Stockholm. After many years performing as the melancholic pop act The Grand Opening, John Roger launched his new ambient electronic alias Havenaire early 2016. The debut album ’Tremolo’ was released on the US label Constellation Tatsu. Previously a guitarist and drummer by trade, now analog synthesizers dominates his sound. John Roger has always been interested in the process of making music and his sense for details is highly noticeable throughout the sound image.
Inspired by old photos taken 1910 by Fredrik Enquist (1885-1963), a Swedish geographer, the theme of his new album Rabot for the Italian label Glacial Movements came to form. Layer upon layer building up walls of sound pushing its way slowly through out the albums six songs. He treats his ambience with a pop sensibility, massive sound that sometimes climaxes in chorus-like parts, with distant piano notes echoing in the background. While other times the music falls apart and only leaves traces of its previous monumental washing sounds.. $13.99

Himukalt - Knife Through the Spine LP (Malignant: TumorLP116)
As admirers of Himukalt’s four previous tape releases, Malignant is pleased to present the first full length LP from this promising, Nevada based, female fronted act. The project of the enigmatic Ester Kärkkäinen, Knife Through the Spine delivers a steady cascade of abstract sounds, festering with grinding pneumatic throb, coarse frequency blasts and sputtering electronic oscillations, with spliced snippets of processed, flanged vocals and a general sense of social anxiety and disaffection. There’s something uniquely old school and primitive at work here, capturing the claustrophobic, unsettled and fragmented sound of early Illusion of Safety or mid-late ‘80s industrial on a whole, contemporizing it, and filling it in with an obsessive, post-mortem feel. A unique and challenging take on heavy electronics for fans of Puce Mary, She Spread Sorrow, Atrax Morgue. Lmtd 200 copies.. $18.67

Hypnoskull - The Manichaean Consciousness CD (Ant-Zen: Act384)
The sound on this album is based on varied beats as carriers for restrained aggression and dark, ominous vibes where canalized noise bursts interfere with technoid rhythmic loops, blurred soundscapes and well-placed spoken and sampled voices. Compared with its predecessors, 'The Manichaean Consciousness' unleashes its force in a more subliminal way, comparable with a slow poison that takes effect late but effective. This is Hypnoskull at his' very best - music that makes you move and think at the same time.. $13.66

Incapacitants - present I,Residuum LP (Urashima: UMA128)
Incapacitants are the best noise band to ever come out of Japan. The group was formed in 1981 in Osaka, as the solo project of Toshiji Mikawa, a member of the amazing noise group Hijokaidan. Mikawa, a bank employee, later moved to Tokyo, where he joined with government office worker Fumio Kosakai (also an occasional member of Hijokaidan, as well as a former member of C.C.C.C.) to make Incapacitants a duo. Toshiji Mikawa and Fumio Kosakai are no ordinary salarymen, though. They've been making some of the most unremittingly ear-shattering racket for decades as Incapacitants, one of the most significant noise outfits to emerge from the groundbreaking Japanese scene in the early 1980s, and still one of the most radical and powerful. They've consistently been responsible for some of the most complex, chaotic, loud, and downright fun releases in the genre.
The holy grail comes with “I, Residuum” , a devastating release from 1997, whose sound is particularly impressive, painfully dense and full of detail – there's very little air to breathe here. It's basically an Incapacitants all-in-one featuring the trademark frenzy, exciting psychedelics and sonic bulldoze, all sounding crystal clear. Just pure, unadulterated electronic distortion of the highest quality done by two of the masters who have ever turned the knob on a distortion pedal that is fun, terrifying, hypnotic and fascinating all at the same time; their noise takes root not in violence or gimmickry, but in pure energy. Incapacitants create inexhaustible chaos verging on the sublime, and take you on a truly excruciating journey toward catharsis. This is truly the spirit of noise: no macho posturing, no pseudo-intellectualism, no "rocking out," no pretense!. $24.00

Inner Vision Laboratory - Relics CD (Winter-Light: WIN017)
'Inner Vision Laboratory' releases his new studio album 'Relics' on our Winter-Light label.
The inspiration for this album came from different science-fiction and post-apocalyptic books and movies, but also from the artists’ personal thoughts regarding mankind’s condition.
‘Relics’ is a musical illustration for the very distant future, where humanity has failed in its progress and moved to total annihilation. Relics are the only things humanity has left behind. Other higher advanced civilisations will come to visit our now desolate planet to collect these relics; these fading tokens of the past. They come to visit the Museum of Savages, who destroyed their own habitat and rendered their once beautiful planet uninhabitable.
'Inner Vision Laboratory' is a musical project brought into existence by the Polish artist/musician Karol Skrzypiec. Created in March 2005, stylistically the project qualifies as industrial dark ambient. Nevertheless, it also includes elements of ethnic music, classical music, et al.
'Inner Vision Laboratory' has released a series of albums on labels such as Rage In Eden, Zoharum, and Beast Of Prey, collaborating with other artists such as Hoarfrost, Roto Visage and Nepenthe. His other works include the highly acclaimed 'Anywhere Out Of This World', 'Perpetua' and 'Austeros'.. $11.67

Ionophore - Whetter CD (Malignant: TumorCD122)
Ionophore is the project of the Bay Area/London-based multi-instrumentalists Leila Abdul-Rauf, Jan Hendrich, and Ryan Honaker. The trio weave dark electronics and neoclassical soundscapes with heavy drones, seamlessly melding the orchestral strings of Honaker, the horns and voice of Abdul-Rauf, and electronic interpretations of Hendrich. Whetter is the follow up to 2016's well-received Sinter Pools, and continues along a similar trajectory; gauzy, ethereal ambience augmented by late night textural smear, rhythmic pulsations, and abstract, affected glitch, drifting in and around and through each other in hazy patterns, warm and enveloping, pulsing and reverberating, an indistinct blur... almost tangible, but ineffable.. $9.00

Iszoloscope - All is Immensity and Chaos CD (Ant-Zen: Act375)
"All is Immensity and Chaos" - a conclusion that can often be reached through decades of artistic experience, and after decades of working with sounds and visions this saying was chosen by Canadian artist Yann Faussurier as the title of Iszoloscope's eighth album. an aggressive, yet melodic release of great diversity showcasing a wide variety of styles and influences where industrial music of the highest quality sets sail into idm territory.
"All is Immensity and Chaos" - a unique and intelligent fusion of sinister ambience, wailing electronics and deep reverberated martial percussion on a bed of distorted glitches and droning pads. frenetic grooves, precision samples and angelic female voices transmit cinematic, disarming atmospheres in which melodic motifs are perfectly in balance with the harsh sound architecture.
"All is Immensity and Chaos" - an important, tightly constructed and mature album with a clear progression from start to finish. a multi-layered musical and personal statement. highly recommended.. $13.66

It Only Gets Worse - Fireplace Road CS (Cloister Recordings: Crus35)
Never mind the Stone Roses covers, that Ed Harris film and the rest of the dozens of references to Jackson Pollock popular culture has had to offer over the years. Here's It Only Gets Worse with a new concept album based on the great artist's last days before the fatal alcohol-infused car crash that took his life.
Once again the combination of Maurice De Jong and Matt Finney's skills come to full fruition, as the duo presents a dark experimental set of songs, blended with sensibilities that cover a very wide range, from pop music to power electronics. Like it's usually done within the realm of IOGW's craft, the spoken word narration appears a bit more reserved and in smaller quantities compared to Matt's other projects, leaving plenty of room to the musical arrangements and compositions to thrive. On the other hand, Maurice's music feels lighter in comparison with the unbearable heaviness, density and extremity some of the multi-instrumentalist's more recognized aliases have put out in the world, but its sinister qualities lurk under the fragile surface, and are still capable of grabbing the listener with a tight hold.
Like Pollock's drip painting technique, IOGW's creative style is unique, not easy to digest and there's more to it than what's been shown on the exterior. With each additional listen, it only gets better.. $3.00

"Phoenicianism is an attempt to put on display the further identity crisis that many of the Lebanese face. Whether its over there, or here in America the confusion reigns supreme. Arab or Phoenician? Western or Eastern? Christian or Muslim? Identity often dictates politics, but with the Lebanese that is not consistent. Historically the only thing consistent is instability. An instability creating frictions that slowly grind against one another until the only eastern answer is reached, violence. Caught between Eastern values and Western luxuries. This album attempts to reflect all of this, while mixing in the artists own personal experiences of living a life of dualism. Misbaha beads or "Worry" beads? Christ or Shams? Allah or Mawt? Walk the edge of the boxcutters razor and make your offering." Years ago the beat of the shaman's drum pulled your tribe out of the motherland. Now as you make your way home everything has changed. Martyria - Martyria CD (Malignant: TumorCD117)
With its great textural depth, sepulchral atmospheres, and exotic, richly detailed ritualistic passages, the stunning, self-titled debut from the Greek male/female duo Martyria signifies the arrival of a vital new entry into the world of ritual/dark ambience and a welcome addition to the Malignant roster.
Running 41 minutes spread over five tracks, the disc opens with “Logos”, a haunting piece track of gorgeous female keening, angelically drifting over a bed of primitive Byzantine rhythms and liturgical chants. It deftly sets the tone and lays the foundation for the proceeding pieces, which move from bottomless, subterranean drift and luminescent drones, to more sinister realms marked by slow, tribal percussion, resonating wood instrumentation, and elongated vocalizations. All of it flows seamlessly, rising from tendrils of wood smoke and incense, rooted in spiritual and ceremonial darkness, and bound together by atavistic and organic means.

Masonna - Open Your Cunt LP (Urashima: UMA127)
Cascades of electronic noise, a psychedelic touch and vocal belching mixed together constitute the ingredients of Mademoiselle Anne Sanglante Ou Notre Nymphomanie Auréolé, the double-barreled name for Masonna. Maso Yamazaki founded his project in 1987, with a charismatic and glamorous personality who become a cult figure in “ Japanoise ” scene. Predating the era of digital domination, there was a time where artist-run labels putting out primarily, if not exclusively, tapes were legion: Toshiji Mikawa’s own Pariah Tapes, Masami Akita’s ZSF Produkt, Koji Tano’s MSBR Records, Akifumi Nakajima’s G.R.O.S.S., Hiroshi Hasegawa’s Endorphine Factory and Maso Yamazaki’s Coquette are just a few examples from Japan alone.
Masonna’s abundant productions on his own legendary and astonishing label were presented in very limited edition, sometime totally confidential (one sole copy), and reflect his predilection for 60’s psychedelic music revisited in its own very peculiar way. Mystic Another Selection Of Nurse's Naked Anthology is known for his very abrasive harsh noise that’s mostly made up of lots of distorted screaming and “Open your cunt’’ definitely has tons of that. This early work is not released on Coquette, but on two other fabulous Japanese labels: Beast 666 Tapes in 1989 and Vanilla Records in 1990 in limited quantities. Tape is very loud, noisy, and has lots of angry energy. The distortion and effects on the vocals are top notch, they in combination with his awesome screaming create a complete audio assault. In this eleven songs focuses an electrically overcharged universe, punctuating the electric and vocal sonorous power with some quite moments and brief interruptions, conferring a very particular dynamic to these tracks.. $24.00

Masonna - The Passion of Rubbers LP (Urashima: UMA091)
2nd repress. "The question of what's one's favorite item from their collection (or accumulation) consistently pops up in conversations amongst fans and collectors, and this unquestionably is always my answer. From head-to-toe, insert-to-tape, all elements are in glorious harmony and conversation with what another. Having the G.R.O.S.S. label's 'industrial design' fetish/obsession (some would say a relatively antiseptic departure from much of the other noise tapes of the time) articulating the sexualized rubber/bondage theme is a fantastic intersection, and one, to my knowledge, not touched upon again as overtly by the label (the subtle rope-play of The Three Temples excluded). The presentation truly is the content, and vice-versa; a unique trait in the young but deep legacy of Noise tape packaging. I marvel at the object's concrete refined sense of pruriency – the particular choice of patterned rubber material, the ornamental silver, the crude claw of staples holding the fucker together – all without resorting to pre-fabricated means (for example Dildo & the Dildoes releasing a tape hanging from a vibrator or something). Every time I've slowly and carefully undone the buckle, hear the crack of Velcro, pried the rubber shell open, and later meticulously sealed up its intricacies once I'm finished, the process has felt like nothing less than ritual. Moving on to the actual tapes themeself – double C10 – another perfect choice ; four parts of ‘acidtronics' – a concise statement forced by physical circumstance. I've always been a sucker for increments of twenty minutes on cassettes (in this case the total program being twenty), as well as short tapes, maybe because they focus on what truly matters – how the ‘side flip' is handled: a similarity with others' obsession with 7-inch singles. Parts One, Two and Four offer ‘live takes', uncut and ramming full speed , differing from the intense cut up techniques reported on other studio efforts from the time period; just organic velocity. A fucking monolithic vacuum cleaner sucking up all bullshit ‘good time' posturing, headbands and peace signs, and blowing them into a rubber isolation suite filled with sex gas so that one can truly get deep and ‘well-acquainted ‘ with the finer onanistic details. The Third part/side is a relative anomaly, a marked contrast – echoed out spacious synth bells – the tense and the delicate sharing opposite sides of the same space as the brutish and primal. Simple but effective sequencing; a crucial piece that bare all intentions behind the churning sonic mass surrounding. Taken inside as a whole, the four side shape a massively pleasing and dynamic curve. Absolutely ‘psych' – psychosexual and psychedelic. A ++, five star, two thumbs up, four spurting cocks and all that. C. Spencer Yeh – AS LOUD AS POSSIBLE Issue One 2010 on The Passion of Rubbers 2 x C10 cassette
This astonishing double tape printed in only 144 numbered copies is reissued on vinyl exactly twenty years after his release. Megaptera - Disease CD (UR Muzik: UR11)
Megaptera have been a Death Industrial benchmark since their first recordings back in the early 1990s. The Swedish monster, led by mastermind Peter Nyström (Negru Voda), embodies the most disturbing and gruesome art there is. Alongside other legends, such as Archon Satani, In Slaughter Natives, or Atrax Morgue, the project has haunted our sheltered lives with their highly oppressive sound ever since. The album "Disease", originally released in 1996 by Art Konkret, is no exception to the rule. It is Death Industrial at its best - grim, terrifying and ghastly. The album is bulit like a psychological horror soundtrack, not as harsh as its predecessor - "Beyond The Shadow", but it is darker and will definitely crawl under the listener's skin. The 2018 version is not a mere reissue, though, as it is completed with a brand new 10-minute-long track, which includes additional sound by John Stillings (Steel Hook Prostheses). Mastered by Henrik Nordvargr Björkk (MZ.412). Presented in a 6-panel digipak with artwork by Kellerman Design.. $12.67

Michael Idehall - Aion Reborn CS (Raubbau: Raub065)
To those who enjoyed Michael Idehall's 'Prophecies of the Storm' release on Ant-Zen, Raubbau is proud to present a further outing of this outstanding artist's self-coined 'seancetronica' sound exploration - a one-of-a-kind combination of death industrial, apocalyptic tunes with a subliminal song structure and dark, structured ambience. Once again the Swedish producer/performer evokes a crude, vicious force carrying intense tempers of menace, aggression and sadness with a strong streak of esoteric themes and personal poetics shaping the mood and tone. Idehall's rich baritone intoning ritual chants and secretive whispers with a solemn atmosphere, highlight the arcane bent of the heavy electronics pushed with striking tautologic sequences. From sparse throbs and slow paced beats to cinematic ambient elements and industrial overtones, 'Aion Reborn' displays a captivating mixture of alluring vocals, throbbing bass, pounding beats, ominous drones and metallic tremors. An engaging album that provides a gripping and sometimes horrific tale from start to finish where the lack of an easy path for pursuit is part of the experience - hypnotic, forceful and savage. Nam-Khar - Secret Essence-Sangwa Dupa CD (Winter-Light: WIn016)
Nam-Khar is a Ritual/Drone collective that utilises various ethnic instruments and synthesised material within its works. What Nam-Khar offers up here are nine very different pieces of ritualistic music, each with the common thread of bringing you to a place of both focus and isolation. The subtle use of traditional instrumentation creates small vacuous pockets for the listener to move into, which are then juxta-positioned with slightly harsher, more industrial sounds. These are then all neatly sewn together with ice cold drones, warm bass sounds and synth sweeps.
With its short stabs and metallic sounds, the music can sometimes feel cold, unsettling and edgy. Tracks such as Shidak (re-shaped) could easily soundtrack the nightmare segment from a film, where the drones pull you stumbling through dark corridors, treading uncertain footsteps with a feeling of anxiety, never knowing what shapes are hiding out in the shadows, or what lies just around the corner. But the other side to the music from Nam-Khar lies in the warm, rich textured sounds and the drones that slowly build in density. Each aspect complimenting one other to bring a rich varied sound to the whole album and drawing all the tracks together.
"Secret Essence/Sangwa Dupa" is a sonic journey to the archaic energies/powers in Tibetan culture, which in the end, are not to be seen as being separated from one’s own mind.. $13.99

No Festival of Light - Divide Et Impera 2CD (Eibon: NFOL105)
No Festival Of Light is the best kept secret in the annals of dark industrial Swedish tradition. For decades Fredrik Bergström's guilty pleasure lingered at the backyard of the world to sporadically cast a shadow of minimalist ritualism and evaporate in enchanted air again. An unorthodox approach and such deceptively simple music itself stirs all the senses to trigger morbid addiction, affection and unconscious share in blasphemous conspiracy. The 2CD set manifests rhythmic and ambient mind-numbing versatility of the project ranging from the debut "Divide Et Impera" (1994) mixed by Jouni Havukainen / In Slaughter Natives, to cryptic "Tape 1" (1996) originally released by Slaughter Productions, to various arcane compilation tracks featured on labels like Abyss, Slaughter, Thaglasz, Art Concept, to rare unreleased two live sets in Belgium and the USA in 1998/99. Nordvargr - Metempsychosis CD (Cyclic Law: 108thCycle)
“Metempsychosis”, the transmigration of the soul, is the basic concept for the new album from Henrik Nordvargr Björkk. However, not in the classic reincarnative sense, but as a study of how souls rather than being judged by a higher power, themselves chooses what flesh to inhabit. To freely roam between the dimensions and to cling on to any form of life at will. These cycles of life and death, bound in part by flesh, inspired to create these tense and organic atmospheres - all synonymous with the journey of the soul. The result is a natural evolution of Nordvargr´s trademark darkness into more rhythmic and vocal compositions where the confrontational stance of Henrik´s other projects shines through; from the harsh bombast of MZ. 412 to the vocals of Anima Nostra, all surrounded by the darkest Scandinavian aura of horror. Featuring guest vocals by TREPANERINGSRITUALEN on the track "First East" and stunning artwork by DEHN SORA.. $14.33

Nytt Land - Odal CD (Cold Spring: CSR249)
Siberian band NYTT LAND presents its new epic musical canvas. Working with the same unchanging 4 band-members, the musicians continue to revive the true magical sound of the Ancient North.
OĐAL...
HERITAGE...
PATH TO THE ROOTS...
Oðal is inspired by the traditional music of the indigenous peoples of Siberia, the Old Icelandic epic and the atmosphere of classic Norwegian black metal. This time the album was recorded without using samples; all parts of the instruments were performed live. All songs were recorded and mixed in one of the technical quality best Russian studios, "Radio Sibir", which strongly affected the sound quality. All the sounds of nature were recorded in western Siberia and northern Norway.
For the first time the 4-year-old son of Natalia and Anatoly, Yuri Pakhalenko, took part. By this they emphasize the concept of the album - heritage.
As in the previous album, Fimbulvinter (CSR234CD), Oðal features the traditional Siberian overtone singing technique "kargyraa", but the overtone singing by vocalist Natalia Pakhalenko gives a special character to the sound. This is very unique, since this technique is a almost exclusively a male singing practice due to its physicality. So, it's time to start the path to the roots...Presented in a 6-panel digipak.. $12.33

Offerbeest - Afrika CD (Malignant: TumorCD119)
Shipping June 20th, 2018. Maurice De Jong has never shied away from exploring the darker side of humanity, but for the latest project from the mastermind behind Gnaw Their Tongues and Aderlating, he figuratively journeys to its heart. Offerbeest moves away from the stygian blackness and infernal churn typically associated with his work, but delivers its own slice of nightmarish qualities, deftly capturing all the strife, turmoil, and tribalism in a 7 track homage to the dark continent. With percolating frequencies, writhing beds of acrid, electrical buzz and vocals that spit in your face with a heartless and alarming hostility, “Afrika” feels reckless and unsettled. Recorded strictly with analogue gear with no samples or laptop, it is perhaps the closest Maurice has come to a true heavy electronics project. Lmtd 300 copies in digisleeve, with 12 page A5 zine.. $10.00

Phelios - Live in Russia CS (Raubbau: Raub057)
In 2015, Phelios enchanted Russia with his outstanding performance. Nice tracks, the foundation of which are crystal-clear synth pads layered into soundscapes at various shades of dark ambient. Combined with ritualistic drum patterns that pick up the pace in between droning bells, we awake from ‘hibernation’ until we reach ‘Atlantis’ with its soft strings that brush away the last attachments we may have had to planet earth.
For those who already have most of Phelios' creations, two previously unreleased tracks, ‘Timelord’ and ‘Cloud Sector Gamma’ have now found their way on this very record. But whether you are already familiar with Phelios or not - this album simply is a must-have for everyone who appreciates complex ambient music on the highest level.

Philipp Münch - Greyscale CD (Ant-Zen: Act375)
While listening to 'Greyscale' a dramatic change concerning the lyrics is instantly obvious: they are now primarily in German, pointing at Philipp Münch's personal musical roots in the legendary project Ars Moriendi including famous co-members such as Andrea Börner (Morgenstern), Andreas Schramm (Asche) and Tim Kniep (Synapscape). Ars Moriendi's unique mixture of power noise rhythms, dark ambient spheres and often aggressively performed German vocals lay the foundation for the updated conceptual turn on 'Greyscale' as well as the fortified use of acoustic instrumentation besides omnipresent electronics. A project that also leaves one's mark here is Philipp's alter ego Rasputeen which combines minimal electro with headstrong and often time-critical lyrics. Assimilating these influences and giving them a contemporary update, 'Greyscale' displays the topical manifestation of Philipp Münch as an artist and as a musician - both as he is now and as he was, simultaneously.. $13.99

Phurpa & Mare di Dirac - Misericordia [Turin Session] LP (4iB Records: 4iB26LP)
Misericordia [Turin Session] was recorded in Italy on Sept 2015 and is a collaboration between shamanistic Bon spiritualists Phurpa from Russia and experimental drone and field recordings Italian act Mare Di Dirac, fronted by Lorenzo Abattoir.
The overall album drowns you in a meditative tantric soundscape consisting of Alexey Tegin’s deep gutteral vocal vibrations (rgyud-skad) or ‘tantric voice‘ and Lorenzo Abattoir’s dark ambient field recordings and sound effects. Organic sounds are produced by bells, gongs, chimes and traditional hand-made instruments created from human bone and animal remains, resonating a background ambience of calm and prayer.
This very intimate and powerful recording showcases the soul wrenching effects that take hold and the artists ability to shake the foundations of the human subconscious through ritualistic and meditative performance.. $10.00

Pterygium - Concealing the Past CD (Tesco: Tesco127)
Pterygium is another discovery that was brought to a bigger audience via “Projekt Neue Ordnung II” 4LP Box. Like “DEATHPANEL” the Australian outfit did surprise with his outstanding atmospheric droned textured power electronics. Concealing The Past, Pterygium’s first CD and second full length album compiles a assemblage of studio recordings throughout 2017 and 2018. From jarring analogue live sessions to melancholic, nonchalant atmospheres, each piece disconnects from the next, self containing singularity ideas that present as individual representations of every day chaos and detachment. Continuing on from his debut album “Grip”, Concealing the Past explores greater textural depths, seeking a more elaborate, expansive sound palate. This culminates in adroit switches between cold and bleak to manic and uncompromising. Underlying drones mold layers together leaving melodies to punctuate the structural development of each work. Freestyle, improvised power electronic workouts serve to separate the somber uncertainties. Simply put, Concealing The Past is 9 episodes of modern Sturm und Drang detailing rationalized toil authenticated by modern social tendencies.. $14.67

Rapoon - Offworld OP1 Equs: Mercury Rising 2 CD (Winter-Light: WIN018)
In celebration of his 25th Silver Anniversary, Winter Light are releasing a trilogy of new work from Rapoon entitled ‘The Mercury Rising Trilogy’. The Mercury Rising Trilogy will comprise of three brand new studio albums, all with exclusive material. The albums will bring a new feel to Robin’s work, that of a more off world spacious feel, jazzy in parts with a ceremonial thread running throughout. Each album interlinked by this feel and theme, as the titles suggest, but with each one still having it’s own unique identity.
Here we present to you the second installment of the Mercury Rising Trilogy - 'Offworld OP1 Equs'. The trilogy began with 'Sanctus Equinox', released through Winter-Light in November 2017. The journey now continues.......
Every 150 years the moons align and block out the light entirely from the small inhabited planet of Offworld OP1. Too cold even for the androids to survive they move en-masse to the farthest moon Celios and wait out the winter in the relative warmth.
The ice crystals in the nearby gas planets rings reflect the meager light of the far sun and throw rainbows down to the surface of Celios… a sign…
The androids have built their shelters in the shape of the six pointed star with a circular perimeter representing the outer rings of home system Saturn and the sun that moved.
Looking back along the aligned moons they diminish in intensity until Offworld is just a shadow, a memory. Waiting. It will take six months before the the first light shines again on Celios and another six before the androids will return. Celebrations await that return…. for now there is only the slow resignation of winter and a promise of it’s end.
Spacious synth sweeps glide through the air, whilst icy piano tones play out, filling the spaces with crystallized sounds. Drums crack and fall away, a lo-fi saxophone plays a somber song to itself, as alien voices raised to the skies chant the mantras of a temporarily dislodged Offworld race of sentient beings.. $11.67

Ruptured World - Exoplanetary CD (Cryo Chamber: Cryo101)
Ruptured World is the cinematic ambient project of Alistair Rennie (UK), who is also known as an author of Weird Fantasy and Horror Fiction.
The exoplanetary deep space mission to Proxima Centauri b has reached its intended destination. Work begins on assessing the planet for its suitability as a site of colonial expansion and habitation for an increasingly desperate human race.
But there are problems.
"Exoplanetary" features fragments of transmissions amid sonorous and distorted interpretations of narrative events as the mission faces up to the challenges of off-world exploration and the inescapable fact that, on Proxima Centauri b, the human visitors are not alone.
Cosmic horror combines with ambient evocations of a real-life futuristic drama in the face of alien estrangement and a prevailing aura of existential persecution. Radio transmissions are superseded by melodic inferences of atmospheric detail and the otherworldly drones of cosmic landscapes and the mysterious twilight roaming grounds of the Krivren.
The "Exoplanetary" CD package comes with a documentary booklet featuring a 16-page executive summary of the mission's objectives and a detailed profile of the planet's geophysical characteristics, as well as its inherent dangers. Digital Booklet also included with download.
It offers a unique listening and reading experience that integrates sound orchestration with speculative dark fiction to present a quasi-scientific account of future possibilities rendered in sound.
Recommended for fans of cinematic dark ambient and spoken word.. $13.50

Salt - Invisible CS (Ant-Zen: Act399)
Noise pop beat massacre with a Japanese green tea infusion it has been done because it’s possible, and because it’s time. Salt needs no introduction for his work as a label owner and graphic artist, but as a music producer has been inactive for over a decade, and surely few musicians come up with their debut album no earlier than almost 30 years down the line. 'Invisible' is truly genre-defying, and not in the usual sense that it incorporates aspects of different genres - it is neither noise nor pop in the sense that it fulfills the usual expectations these terms conjure up. the Japanese infusion (i.e. sonic references) weaves a red thread, the reflection of positive nothingness is the intellectual backbone, and the music might serve as a diary.
'Nothing is Everything', a hum, a metronomic sub-rhythm, distant voices, the track works like a canvas. 'feeling connector' is the closest this will get to pop, an anthem of bittersweet minimal electronica featuring Japanese artist noiseconcrete and the haunting, strangely detached vocal performance of his female partner 3CHI5. so after two tracks the extremes of this album are fathomed, and it’s from there that the 'Massacre' unfolds: undeniably noisy like 'Bbeneath the Skin' or 'Cream Crackered' (which is Cockney slang for incredibly tired), with a wobbly rhythmic backbone like 'Inhale', 'Unhidden Content' and 'Fear of Yellow' - or wildly oscillating between both, like the aptly titled 'After Diner Dip', a point in time when different moments amalgamate. even for the easier sounds of 'Wasuremono' (i.e. lost things) 'Invisible' is not to be taken lightly, and closes with the sinister organ sounds of 'Be All and End All', the Shakespeare-coined phrase that means the raison d’etre, the essence. running at a classic 45 minutes, this Salt album will be nothing to many, but possibly everything.Includes download code in anti-static bag with stickers.. $12.67

Swirling ambient sounds made of processed field recordings converge into a richly textured and harmonically layered narrative. The tracks scan the phases of ascension to a suspended and formless destination, free from the bounds of time and space: a rite of passage. We are nowhere, a journey with no boundaries or restrictions transforming the smallness of ordinary life into transcendent magnitudes. Building on constant cinematic tension, frictions and collisions of sounds, through which the mind is transformed, freed from daily dualities, at one with it’s psychic abilities. Strom Noir - Mountains Become Machines CD (Winter-Light: WIn014)
Emil Maťko, the man behind Strom Noir, hails from Bratislava, Slovakia. Since 2008, Emil has released around 15 albums to date on a variety of different formats, as well as a number of singles and also contributed to several compilation albums. His music can possibly be best described as guitar and loop based ambient, with a melancholic feel to it. Strom Noir builds up intricate layers of sound using mostly only electric and acoustic guitars, effected through pedals.
The artist himself describes the thoughts and processes behind the recording of ‘Mountains Become Machines‘.....
‘The beginning of the recording process is dated back to the second half of 2013, that time with the intention to come up with the full-length release consisting of more “stand-alone” tracks built significantly on acoustic guitar, in most cases, heavily transmuted. As I used to set the recorder always in a way that it recorded associated sounds from the recording room as well, recordings are more complex and have some accidental/random aspects; on the other hand, the overall feeling is a little bit lo-fi. That’s the process how the tracks, I would label as the core of the album, were basically recorded – the beginning of spring, mountains become machines, sám na vrchole hory (alone on the mountain top), where late the birds sang and čistota (purity).. $13.77

STROMSTAD - New Devoted Human CS (Cloister Recordings: Crus32)
Few names imply mind-bending, forward thinking heavy electronics like Finnish stalwarts STROM.ec, and with every release, they seem to further stretch the boundaries of what can be a pretty rigid genre, and navigate realms never before seen or heard. Similar things can be said of Norwegian atmospheric heavy weight and Malignant staple, Kristoffer Oustad, whose particular strain of dark ambient and post-industrial soundscapes are incredibly dynamic, at times surreal and cinematic, other times more driving and heavy, but all with a recognizable, highly emotive touch. Put the two together, and you get the debut of their collaborative project, STROMSTAD. Spread out over 8 tracks, this is a dizzying exploration of sound and vocal fury, where mechanized pulsations, writhing frequency oscillations, and grinding machine loops meet stretches of drifting darkness and touches of musicality, suggestive of a future that’s dystopic and bleak on one hand, yet highly innovative and revolutionary on the other. Featuring a guest appearance by Grutle Kjellson from the mighty Enslaved, mastering by Nordvargr, paintings by Jeff Klena and design by Alonso Urbanos.. $7.00

Sutcliffe Jügend at Maschinenfest, a meeting of legends, and 50+ minutes of intensity captured on this recording: The English duo were presenting their uniquely refined brand of extreme expressionist electronics, which relies on extreme frequencies and controversial lyrics alright, but incorporates various influences and unexpected shifts in mood and sound. Culled from their various releases of recent years, Tomkins leads us through the appalling underworld of the human mind, the obsession, perversity and abuse that man is capable of, presented with a distinctly English sneer, while the musical backdrop oscillates between the most upfront noisy and the aggravatingly dark and abysmal. reject social conformity, reject simple pleasures, it’ll prove worth the effort!. $13.99

Sutcliffe Jugend & Junko - Sans Palatine Uvula CD (4iB Records: 4iB13)
Sans Palatine Uvula showcases the amalgamation of 2 pioneering artists of their respective genres: Power Electronics and Japanoise, both whom have made their presence significantly felt (through sight and sound) ever since the early 1980s in England and Japan. Sutcliffe Jugend and Junko (from 非常階段/HIJOKAIDAN) are renowned artists in their own right, having been uniquely defined in the experimental noise scene as innovators of sound through their personal style of artistic expression that involves the churning of audio mayhem through guitars, electronics and vocals.
This album sees Sutcliffe Jugend taking a step beyond as they push the envelope of sound progression to greater heights. Junko‘s piercing screams and squeals serve as a canvas for Sutcliffe Jugend to work on and develop it further in their own innovative style. The results demonstrate a very unique reconstruction of the shriek queen’s original vocal outbursts, which see them being reworked and reinvented separately through manipulative treatments of cut-ups, distortions, samplings and introduction of other sonic elements.
This collaborative work between these two unique and respected artists of different genres from East and West encloses the listener with sonic chaos through its ten varied tracks. For some, it may seem like a difficult album to digest at the first listen. However, the tensions that have been separately produced from the harsh elements of voice and sound eventually subside as they resonate with each other, bringing forth a balanced unity of yin and yang.
Best Played Loud!. $12.67

Synapscape - Still CD (Ant-Zen: Act377)
The sound of Synapscape varies from ambient soundscapes to powerful electronic rhythms to show you the structures of your inner mind...'. It was back in 1995 when Ant-Zen announced the first album of the Bielefeld based duo - the label's first CD release ever, and also the cadre for a long-term partnership between the band and the antz. Now the band is in the twenty-fifth year of its existence, and that calls for a one-of-a-kind celebration.
'Still' is an album on which Synapscape review their past in a unique manner: eleven tracks originally recorded between 1994 and 1999 were chosen and then resurrected as entirely re-recorded versions, transforming the spirit of the archetypes into contemporary sounding works of art. while choosing the tracklist, the focus was on the project's rhythmic side, presenting it's ability to create relentless dance tracks with an energetic industrial force that has been in place since the beginning. a wealth of different grooves and hypnotic sequences carry aggression and depth, topped byTTim Kniep's characteristic voice which is now considerably clearer, compared to the original versions.
A reminder of a bygone era and an entirely new coherent end-to-end album at the same time, transforming past creative artistry into present. still going strong - enjoy!. $13.66

This is the very first official release of Templum N.R. The work was initiated already back in 2005, but it was not until February 2015 that the final touches were given in the secret Chamber 817.07., built on archaic crossroads.
The musical and visual material of Templum N.R. comes from the very depths of the Templum members; their travels in the Spheres of Otherness are presented in ‘Spectrum CCCXC: Transitio’ through obscure electronics, synthetic drones, odd rhythmic patterns, pulsing melodies and various manipulated field recordings dating back over a decade. The intention of these two, long-lasting psychedelic movements is to travel deep inside the subconsciousness and foster understanding of the Formless Sacrifice. Where this work resounds, the Otherness is unleashed. A meeting with the Guardian of the Veil awaits.

Templum N.R. - Spectrum DCXCIII: Poison Portals CD (Aural Hypnox: AHUE07 CD)
On one hazy night I met an elderly man sitting in an old wooden chair. He was wearing an elegant white suit and I could not help noticing the simple white lines in his fore- and middle fingers. In the remaining fingers he had circles. The pitch-black sand of the shore absorbed all the light from the sky. Regardless, I saw fifty-meter-high waves crashing down behind him – and at the same time, they remained static.
‘Spectrum DCXCIII: Poison Portals’ has a luring, fatal beauty of its own. Redirecting, throbbing analog electronics, slowly swallowing droning textures and sinuous rhythms are accompanied with eternal, eerie melodies – all reeking of the primordial pleasures. Obscure radio transmissions and telepathic resonances are emerging from the parallel universes and will sink you even deeper into the ignorance of your very self or towards the ravishing beauty of transformation.
The other worlds and realities are present both in sound and vision; A triple-bladed iron dagger, brought to this world through trancework. Assume its form, pass the Poison Portals, and continue until the opposites intermingle and known territories vanish beneath the colossal waves.
This CD version also includes the previously limited ‘The Mass Rattle’ ep with tracks ‘The Viscous Tomb Liquid’ and a Telepath Remix of the ‘I am His Sacrifice’.
The album is enclosed in a customized and screen printed Sublunar series cardboard covers, including five two-sided insert cards. Limited to 300 copies.. $14.33

Templum N.R. - T.o.V. Improvisations XCII-XCIII CD (Aural Hypnox: AHUE06CD)
The musical improvisations of T.o.V. derive from Umbra-visitation sessions held in the Temple of Mercurial Orgies and Room Luna Lake between 2014 and 2015. The concept of the album has been evolving within the minds of the Templum N.R. members for the past twenty years, so perhaps it is not proper to talk of this as their latest release. Linear time and Templum N.R. do not walk hand in hand and their rituals cannot be measured in hours but in years.
Compared to their previous release ‘Spectrum CCCXC: Transitio’, this album is based on a more analog-organic approach than an analog-digital-synthetic. The four echoing Hymns of Otherness are here to awake the ghosts dwelling within; join the Stagnant Dance and meet the Carcass of Formations – the shrieks are heard from beyond.
This CD version includes a ‘Grave Gravitation: Transitio XCV’ ep which came earlier exclusively as a part of ‘T.o.V. Improvisations XCII-XCIII’ special edition. Two tracks of pure oscillating power – minimalistic, wrathful modular drones, where multitude of hidden harmonics meets a choral of transforming frequencies.
The album is enclosed in a customised and screen printed Sublunar series cardboard covers, including six two-sided insert cards. Limited to 300 copies.. $14.33

'innovation' stay close to the sonic palette for which the collective is known and appreciated; it's still those massive drones - or if you prefer noisey soundscapes - which at moments hurt either your ears or your emotions. but the album is called 'innovation' for a reason, so how the album was created has changed in all possible ways: sound sculpting, composing, mixing, mastering and even collaborating ...
The sound sculpting part was done all with modular synthesis. all sounds have been created from scratch, which was long trajectory of pulling and patching cables and intensive listening until the sound was what it needed to be.
With 'innovation' The [Law-Rah] Collective asked themselves whether it pays off to leave the beaten track; to take a step back and question yourself and your ways.
It's a proven fact: 'Innovation' has become a very intense and consistent album with a clear message. it's not for your average background listing sessions. the sounds are all over the frequency spectrum and the compositions are quite demanding to the listener.
it's intense ... it's dynamic ... it's innovative .... $14.50

Tusen Ar Under Jord - Sandhavens Genklang LP (Verlautbarung: Mitt39)
Verlautbarung are proud to present a series of exotic aural vignettes, like the dim phantasms populating the minds of Victorian armchair ethnographers. Dreams of long bygone customs, queer moonlit processions and pre-Sufic mystics. Journeys through teeming, hascheesh-ridden bazaars to the remote outposts of the vast dunescapes. The murmur of a hermit's unbroken wake, huddled by the doorway to the proper crypt of Khefren. All this framed by the ever swirling monomania of discordant flutes, vague swirling melodies obscured amidst incessant ethno-percussion and loops.
Edition of 221 copies in brown cardboard disco bags with mounted risographic print and handstamped linen detail.. $10.00

Ugasanie & Xerxes the Dark - Abysmal CD (Cryo Chamber: Cryo098)
Ugasanie & Xerxes the Dark team up on this album exploring the darkest depths of the ocean.
The walls croak as you find your balance in the swaying research ship. A week in this storm is enough to make any mans stomach turn, but today you enter the depths of the ocean. You slap some pills into your food hole and climb to deck, the bathyscaphe stands ready.
You're 10 hours deep into the ocean when the power goes out. What the hell is going on up there? The darkness outside is thick, snake-like shadows worm around the vessel. Your trembling hand pushes down on the radio transmitter button, it's dead.
For lover of deep drone and isolated soundscapes, you want to swim with the leviathan? This is your album. $13.50

Various Artists - Visions Of Darkness (In Iranian Contemporary Music) 2CD (Cold Spring: CSR242CD)
A gathering of majestic, heavy, dark ambient, ritual, drone and noise music from Iran. Highly original and monolithic, with stunning production, Visions Of Darkness stands shoulder to shoulder with the giants of the Dark Ambient scene.>br>In a country where youth culture has been heavily restricted for so long, it’s significant when a cultural form such as this has an opportunity to reach a wider audience – aided by the abstract nature of dark ambient, drone and noise. In comparison, the dance music scene has a harder time taking root in Iran due to the illegality of men and women dancing in public together. However, the growth of the experimental electronic scene is going to be about more than a mere novelty reaction to a political paradigm shift. The darkness here is a consequence of the mood of the artists – darker after the country was put on a black list and more restrictions were applied to many things, including monetary transactions to and from Iran. As a consequence, Iranian artists have a great difficulty getting the resources to better develop their projects. Despite this, the enthusiasm and will for Iranian musicians to promote their music shines through.

VelgeNaturlig - Kundalini CD (Winter-Light: WIN019)
Having previously released the full length 'Opalescent Pust' Winter Light, the Portuguese sound sculpture VelgeNaturlig returns with an album of deep, immersive ambient drones - 'Kundalini'.
On 'Kundalini', Ivo Santos presents us with an album, layered with a rich tapestry of dense drones, reverberating sub-bass and circulating processed sounds, cleverly woven together with field recordings.
As with most, if not all of VelgeNaturlig's work, on 'Kundalini' the tracks flow together as one, creating vast musical landscapes to traverse within the minds eye. The music weaves an infinite pathway between the light and the dark, sometimes isolating but always keeping the listener engaged.
'Kundalini' is an album of true awakening, invoking a clash of primordial sounds and energies. Let the currents flow...... $12.50

Vittore Baroni, Maurizio Bianchi, Piermario Ciani, Daniele Ciullini - Musical Surgery (Old Europa Café: LUCE057)
From the archives of the Florentine studio SOUND RECYCLING TERMINAL comes this singular finding, an experiment in "sound surgery" originally assembled in February 1982 by DANIELE CIULLINI (aka OXIDIZED MAN) with audio materials sent by Maurizio Bianchi (M.B.) and the founders of the TRAX multimedia project, the journalist and mail artist VITTORE BARONI (musically active as Lieutenant Murnau) and the graphic artist-photographer PIERMAIO CIANI (Mind Invaders, Great Complotto, etc.) who died in 2006.
At the time, MUSICAL SURGERY was reproduced on cassette in four copies only, one for each author, so the work has remained unpublished until now, the product of a sort of "supergroup" of prime movers extremely active in the Italian post-industrial scene and in the “cassette network” of early 80s.
The five original tracks, now assembled in one unique track of about half an hour, merge the cold industrial-apocalyptic electronics typical of early M.B. production, experiments of pulsating electronic minimalism attempted in those years by CIANI (tape recorders incorrectly connected, backwards tapes, etc.), BARONI’s maniacal rants and the analogical drone-ambient textures by CIULLINI, who in the mixing also used field recordings and samplings of various kinds.
The "spoken word" fragment used here, originally written by Baroni for his performance "N" held in 1981 in Reggio Emilia as part of the event La perdita del centro, will then be reworked in the cassette album The Cop Killers The CD (mixed by Ciullini and Baroni in May 1982 and published in the same year by TRAX), a six-handed work by Baroni, Ciullini and the British musician M.A. Phillips of which this rediscovered collaborative work at distance can be considered a sort of prototype and general rehearsal.
MUSICAL SURGERY, will be co-released by OLD EUROPA CAFE and LUCE SIA.A limited edition of 300 copies in a cardboard folder with vintage original graphics by the four authors.. $13.50

Vromb - Noize Melodia CD (Ant-Zen: Act383)
After three years of silence 'Noize Mélodia' is the eagerly awaited fresh sign of life fromHugo Girard a.k.a. Vromb. Compared with albums like 'Sous Hypnose' or 'Le Pêcheur de Noyés' there is no general concept on this release, only a few sketches of natural and human catastrophes and life crises were in Girard's thoughts while operating his instruments. The most important aspect of Vromb's unique sonic territory is the process of composing itself - a prisoner of his musical habits, giving input to machines and utilizing their reactions for the final result. Even the track titles for 'Noize Mélodia' like 'Vélectrobass' (where v stands for Vromb with electro + bass) were given by the music itself, telling him: this is what you are, this is how things shall be.
For the realization of this album, basic compositions which would last for hours were recorded and used as the foundation for re-structured and re-recorded versions after being thoroughly analyzed. As most of the sound was made with modular equipment and no adjustments or presets were saved, the final tracks are non-repeatable unique copies.
The stylistic spectrum on 'Noize Mélodia' is breathtakingly wide, ranging from abstract soundscapes and pulsing sequences to beat-driven tunes. Although the musical direction turns to conceptional experimental electronica, the listening experience always stays accessible - the melodies hide within, an aspect which was always Vromb's unique trademark. During this long journey into an artist's mind amplified and passed back by electronic equipment one will discover a multitude of sonic dynamics between highest peaks and (pretended) silence. And then there are the voices - which are actually entirely generated by the machines conversing with themselves. Be invited to join the trip...
