A Challenge of Honour - Ashigaru Boxset (Steinklang: SK7-166)
This is the abridged, or 'lite' version of the original, with just a Japanese war flag and flag 3 heavy vinyl 7"s. The orignal was lmtd to 166 copies, not sure how many this is lmtd to, other than I know it's a tiny amount. Musically a bit more ritual than the 'Monuments'-LP, but in the same brilliant character….flowing, orchestral compositions full of strength and dark nobility.. $24.00

Aderlating/Nekrasov - Split LP (Chrome Leaf: Chrome5)

This the foul and utterly terrifying split LP between Australian noise terrorists NEKRASOV and our old pal Mories (Gnaw Their Tongues, De Magia Veterum) with more oppressive new material from another of his noiseterror projects, ADERLATING. This LP release will be limited to 300 copies only, on translucent dark green with silver splatter wax.As one might expect from such a union, this split LP shall surely be one of the most frightening releases of 2010, punishing the listener with each act’s depraved experimentation within black metal, dark noise and ambient sub-musical territories. Australian one-man unit NEKRASOV embraces Nothing as a state and rejects Nothing as a value. NEKRASOV was initiated in 1997 to direct those to the black pain at the body’s core. The hell unleashed by the unit here is severely haunting; their lone track clocking in at a mammoth 24:42 in length… And that’s all before you even get to the wretched B-side of the split. From within the same dimly-lit hate cellar and born of the same dismal mind as Gnaw Their Tongues, the cavernous suffocation delivered by ADERLATING bursts forth with low frequency horror, nausea-inducing 20khz drones, fistfucking distorted tape-hiss and raped soundscapes, while the lowest and vilest of demons provide a diabolical orchestration. This is purely demented, scathing, metallic bliss.. $15.66

Alfarmania - Bottenscrapet pic LP (Autarkeia: AVI36)

This luxurious epic release by the Swedish sound terrorist Kristian Olsson, also known as the leader of Survival Unit, has built a monument for the postmortem electronics. A style mainly characterised by dirt, chaos, noise and a deliberate disregard for quality. Two long tracks of Bottenskrapet album offer a hymn for the dump of human civilisation and its madness. Absolute provocation released in the heaviest pic-LP vinyl illustrated with the visualisation of the talented 21st c. collagist Kristian Olsson, whose suggestion equals that of Hieronymus Bosch's hallucinations. The release includes a postcard and a few stickers for labelling police cars. Their blurb on discogs is classic: "Post-mortem / power electronic depravity from northern sweden, brimming with insanity, negative emotional charge and filthy technocratic dizziness. crafted with primitive tools revealing claustrophobia syndrome among four walls of an asylum, the hell of chemical paradise and existential terror".. $28.66

Alfarmania - Bottenskrapet Boxset (Autarkeia: AVI36Box)

Lmtd 30 boxset, coming in a suede, engraved box and containing multiple inserts, stickers, and embroidered polo shirt with Alfarmania logo, buttons, and a small cylinder that I'm scared to open. Oh, and most importantly, the pic LP as well. If you already have the LP, I could probably be persuaded into knocking some cash off the price. Talk to me directly at malignant@03.malignantrecords.com. $150.00

Allerseelen - Archaise Arbeiten 2LP (Ahnstern: Ahnstern01)
Double LP featuring some of the early recordings by Allerseelen which were published in 1989 on various cassette editions. The deluxe artwork of this fold out release which is limited to 600 copies will feature photographs of the Cathars´ castle Lastours in South France. Digitally re-mastered, this material remains some of the best ever done in my opinion. Surrounding a nucleus of varying degrees of kettledrum bangings (som, etimes primal and war driven, other times plodding, ritualistic and slow) are a series of edgy and tense violin screeching that hover like agitated wasps around a nest. Add in a mixture organic sounds (voices, the chilling caw of ravens, bone rattlings), and you’ve got a unique, heathen listening experience.. $25.00

Altar of Flies - Forruttnelsen LP (Release the Bats: RTB57)

First vinyl fullength from Mattias Gustafsson aka Altar Of Flies. Since the start in 2006, this prolific artist from Mjolby, Sweden, has done releases on Cipher, Husk, Hasten & Korset, Nil By Mouth and 905, just to name a few. Forruttnelsen is the first new release on RTB since the split LP with Sewer Election which was released early 2008. More organic and mostly recorded live to tape, Forruttnelsen shows a side of Altar Of Flies more reminiscent to the sounds of his live shows. This is more minimalistic in it's approach, weaving together tapeloops, field recordings, junk abuse and raw disciplined electronics creating an claustrophobic and bleak soundscape. Everything slowly builds up towards the abrasive 14 minute long title track closer, making this an monumental journey in all it's gloomy glory. Recorded between April and December 2009. 5 tracks, 41 minutes. Mastered by Viktor Ottosson (Attestupa). Full colour artwork by Daniel Fagerstrom.. $21.00

Apoptose/Joy of Life - Warrior Creed 12 inch LP (Tesco: Tesco072)

It was in 1988 when the British post punk group Joy of Life released their song "Warrior Creed". Apoptose would never forget this track: the impressive vocals, the stoic drums, the minimalistic keyboards. 20 years later "Warrior Creed" is back – seen though Apoptose’s eyes. The voice of Joy of Life leadsinger Gary Carey has matured and the rhythm section is reinforced by an entire band of drummers, the Fanfarenzug Leipzig. Now the music sounds even darker. This Joy of Life/Apoptose-LP celebrates the return of that classic song. It features two new interpretations by Apoptose, both sung by Gary Carey, alongside the original Joy of Life version which was unavailable for more than a decade. Live-in-studio recordings of the onstage trance drumming rituals by Apoptose and the Fanfarenzug Leipzig amplify the intoxicating effect of this vinyl-only release. Total Time 37:07min. The LP is limited to 600 copies and packed in a deluxe gatefold sleeve with metalic bronze embossing.. $20.33

Arditi - Destiny of Iron 7 inch (Equilibrium: EQM012)

Destiny of Iron presents 2 new tracks by Arditi, exclusive to this release, in their unique brand of obscure and suffocating Militaristic ambiance. Limited edition of 500 copies, pressed in high-quality heavy vinyl. The title track brings sluggish humming horns and ominous strings, crushed under heavy pounding percussions, all building into an hypnotic orchestral march that serves as backdrop to obscure speeches and inflamed combat commands. "Struggle for Victory", on the other hand, draws into the music a hazier ambiance, as if spawned out of a waking dream filled with turgid battlefield memories haunted by orchestrations washing over faraway chants.. $9.33

Attestupa - Begraven Mot Norr LP (Release the Bats: RTB58)

Begraven Mot Norr, the second album from Attestupa, is themed around funeral customs and death processions in the past centuries of rural Sweden. The first LP was described as a mix of folk tones, 70's German prog, noise and black metal, and via the Att Korsa Den Flod Som Kommer Dränka Oss Alla tape (Abisko) and 1867 12" (DNT), that mixture was refined. With Begraven Mot Norr, Attestupa returns with their most accomplished and complex recording so far, a natural progression from Anglamakerskan (their praised contribution to the Utmarken compilation 10"). Opening with an eerie violin over a rushing river, the bleak tone is immediately set. Set to a backbone of monotonous drumming, guitars and organs take the freezing lead in the sinister arrangements. Abrasive electronics intersects with field recordings and a sparse and elegant use of acoustic instruments. The chant-like vocals lure somewhere in the background, working as an instrument on it's own. Often based on scrap metal junk abuse and tape loops, the droning interludes from their recent live sets are incorporated. The overall atmosphere is more melancholic, paving itself through different shades of grey with a calmer and more distinct sound than before.. $21.00
