La Comunidad - Bastion 23 g.p. Boxset (L-White: LW032BS)

2nd release from this provocative German outfit. Heavy, cresting pulsations and thick, writhing frequencies, mixing some atmospheric death industrial elements in with full throttle p.e., including, of course, the necessary vocal presence and appropriate samples.Sturdy, very nice box, lmtd 30 copies with nice t-shirt and inserts. $28.00

Lacus Somniorum - Tideshaper (Cyclic Law: 22ndCycle)

Splendid collaborative work between Gustaf Hildebrand and Amanda Votta, Lacus Somniorum emerged as a mutual desire to convey a suggestive concept of what lies hidden and unseen by the eyes of modern civilization--beneath the waves in murky chasms, or perhaps in places not anchored within our concept of reality. Airy flutes and choirs hover above sometimes distant, rumbling sound textures, hinting of corroded machinery and unseen presences but also emphasizing a sense of serenity and peace of mind. The underlying concept is not fear of the unknown, but rather of a hidden beauty within those places where none of us will ever venture.Edition of 1000 copies In fold out gatefold cardboard sleeve.. $12.99

Lamia Vox - ...Introductio (Indiestate: Angriff38)

Intriguing debut from this female fronted project of richly textured, Lovecraftian inspired dark ambience. At it's core, the drones remind me a bit of Bad Sector (ghostly reverberations with a cosmic feel), but these are augmented by subtle ritual touches and something more sinister lurking in the shadows. Because of that, Endura came to mind once or twice as well, though this is generally less structured than what they traditionally did. Limited to 500 copies comes in a full colour 4-panel digipak.. $14.77

Land:Fire - Shortwave Transmission (Power & Steel: PAS25)

Coming back with an all new album after more than 5 years the alter ego of Herbst9 delivers another outstanding soundtrack about radiological warfare and it's debris during the last century. SWT is like a massive energy spike with a surrounding maelstrom of machine noises, rhythms, interferences and electromagnetic waves. The complex arrangement of technical sounds creates a deadly atmosphere of fallout and devastated landscapes with an apocalyptic aura reflected by dissonant harmonies and deep shimmering ambient scapes. Presented in a 6 panel digipak. Mastered by Andreas Wahnmann (First Law). $14.99

Langemarck - Injustitia Est Commodatum (Der Angriff: Angriff31)

The debut release from the project of Stefan S. known for his collaboration with Von Thronstahl (“Return To Palestine”). A mix of martial industrial and neofolk elements with a bit of electronic industrial tunes. For the ones who like Derniere Volonte, Forseti, early Death In June and Sixth Comm. The release comes in a deluxe full-colour embossed digisleeve with partial UV-laquering. 13 tracks, 51 minutes, limited to 500 copies.. $15.33

Larrnakh - Now Will You Believe? (Steinklang Distro: SKD27)

NeoFolk album featuring (ex)members of CAWATANA, STURMAST and SCIVIAS! "Now Will You Believe?" is a mix of classical guitar-based NeoFolk with electronic elements, varied and assembled with droning Ritual/Dark-Ambient tracks. The mix of two completely different styles in music makes this album to a outstanding new milestone of "crossovers". Dark and sometimes frightening soundscapes with samples, trumpets and haunting drums are compiled with beautiful harps, piano, violin and narrating vocals, rounded by fine NeoClassical elements. $15.33

Lasse Marhaug - The Quiet North (Second Layer: SLR003)

Brand new harsh-noise recording from Norway’s finest. Guitar, pedals and metal objects used with ‘Reign In Blood’ style efficiency. No cut-ups, no drastic changes, yet the energy is sustained for the duration. Despite the minimal elements this is not to be confused with wall-noise as this is highly restless material - pure forward driving energy from start to finish. I’m seriously proud of this one. Limited edition of 500 copies in 6-panel digisleeve.. $13.33

Laufeyiar Sonr - Vorst (Neuropa: NRPII)
Laufeyiar Sonr wears corpse-paint in a Bentley. These cold electronic sounds from Holland are the sharp, hummable retro-future....an electro-martial gem full of glassy, smooth, cinematic textures, and rhythmic pulsations. Very unique sounds as blue and frosty as the blue metallic gatefold it’s housed in. SALE!. $4.00

LCEDP - De L'Utilité Des Convoyeurs (Angle Rec: AR053)
A tribute to urban exploration. Rhythm 'n' noise, chaos and abstractions, in a non-stop sonic mayhem. Good, solid sound manipulation, constantly moving with lots of churning, grinding, and siering distortion. With good, clean sound production. 21 impressions transcoded by LCEDP + 1 additional impression revised by Orphx. Grey sleeve on textured cardboard with tone-on-tone embossed patterns and insert + cord. 500 copies. $6.00

Leiche Rustikal - 333 CD/DVDr (Steinklang: SKD16)
The brand new album from Munich's primary industrial act brings forth more quality recordings full of the classic ’Steinklang’ sound: rhythmic noise and cold, persistent percussion with lots of grinding, rusty, mechanical elements and a dose of chaos. A couple tracks have a more structured ‘song’ character to them with male+female vocals This special edition has a bonus DVD with video clips of 4 tracks from their last CD ‘Impuls‘, plus four unreleased tracks and a live video. $15.99

Leiche Rustikal - Impuls (Steinklang: LeicheCD01)
Re-stock! Following the Rudra LP (and lmtd CDR), the First formal CD for this long standing (not particularly prolific) German act. Dark, scourging industrial sounds with lots of corrosive, nicely distorted electronics, some bombastic rhythms, loops, and voices. True to form, classically styled German rhythmic industrial in the vein of the early Ant-Zen days (remember those?), yet with modern touches. Delivers, especially at high volume. SALE!. $11.50

Les Jumeaux Discordants - Sang Pour Sang (Athanor: Athanor038)

Sang pour Sang is the scond opus from Les Jumeaux Discordants after a sold out and acclaimed EP on Misty Circles. The recording is based on the ancient concepts of Katàbasis and Anàbasis and is divided in two sections: the first is made by obscure and sinister atmospheres; the second is more lyrical. Musically Sang pour Sang is the perfect balance between the best neoclassical ambiances and martial industrial with an Art Nouveau’s touch. Les Jumeaux Discordants is musically and spiritually in the tradition of italians ritualistic and electronic formation like T.A.C. or Kirlian Camera’s Schmerz period.Using heavy percussions, one can expect the right mixtures wich made famous Les Joyaux de la Princesse, Camerata Mediolanense, Les Sentiers Conflictuels, Blood Axis, In Slaughter Natives or Dead Can Dance. The band might be the one we were waiting for since the split of The Moon Lay Hidden Beneath a Cloud.About the theme, LJD faces up to the Angelo Tonelli's poetry: the founder of the Ritomodernist wave, a cultural italian wave fighting for the Tradition. Beyond the cooperation of this great personality of the contemporary philosophy there's the cooperation of the famous cellist Zeno Gabaglio from Switzerland and Daniela Bedeski from Camerata Mediolanense. Les Jumeaux Discordants is a project born in 2005 by the union of two pre-existent projects: The Last Hour and Aimaproject. The first is a musical project born in 2004; the second is born in 1996 and it works in various expressive fields: litterature, photography, music. Aimaproject works with many musical projects. The CD is presented as a 6 pages digifile with a 12 pages booklet.. $13.99

Les Sentiers Conflictuels & Andrew King - 1888 (Athanor: Athanor032)

A well executed conceptual release in which Andrew King reads the mysterious letters that Scotland Yards received in late 1888 signed "Jack the Ripper", over a bed of disturbing neoclassical, heavily atmospheric, foggy drones and archival sounds (mechanical noises, operettes and old cylinder samples). A dark journey into the wet sinuous streets of Whitechapel, London 1888. From a review by Mark Coyle. "An album that explores a time and acts that are in their own way part of our heritage, myths and social history [...] Like the blackest horror film you have ever been placed within. There genuinely has not been an album like this before." Very handsome digipak. $16.50

Le Testament De La Lumiere - Echoes Out of Time (Steinklang: SK47)

"Echoes Out of Time" is the band's second album and comes out more than 6 years after their debut-album, "Der Tod ist ein treuer Kamerad". Le Testament De La Lumiere is classical dark ambient with a strong neoclassic touch and many martial-Industrial elements. The album creates a dense and sometimes even oppressive atmosphere. A monumental soundtrack born out of darkest ages.. $14.50

Le Testament De La Lumiere - Echoes Out of Time CD/CDr Special Edition (Steinklang: SK47SE)

Echoes Out of Time" is the band's second album and comes out more than 6 years after their debut-album, "Der Tod ist ein treuer Kamerad". Le Testament De La Lumiere is classical dark ambient with a strong neoclassic touch and many martial-Industrial elements. The album creates a dense and sometimes even oppressive atmosphere. A monumental soundtrack born out of darkest ages. Comes with bonus CDr with 2 extra songs.. $16.33

Lethal Dose 50 - 21st Century Awakenings (Nuit Et Brouillard: NBCD06)
First official CD release from this Belgian outfit will appeal to those fond of the ‘70s and ‘80s space electronic sound (ie, Tangerine Dream, Nocturnal Emissions), as well as newer purveyors, most notably First Law and Bad Sector. Clear, flowing, cosmic drones and penetrating tones with a hypnotic, drugged feel, sometimes interspersed with the occasional rhythm. Nothing warm and milky here though, more cold and sterile…but, I mean that in the most positive sense. Housed in an original A5 size silk-screened fold-out cover.. $4.00

Lethe - Catastrophe Point #5 (Intransitive Records: INT034)

Catastrophe Point #5 is the latest in Kuwayama Kiyoharu’s signature series of compositions that explore the charged, mysterious atmosphere of disused industrial sites. For this album, Lethe turns his attention to an abandoned warehouse by a pier in his hometown of Nagoya, Japan, using objects discovered in situ to perform a ritual of sonic resurrection. He brings a dead space back to life, giving it a voice and allowing it to speak. Metal chains, sheet metal, broken machinery, and factory debris are bowed, struck, and dragged across the concrete floors of the massive hall, reverberating and responding as Kuwayama and his microphones scuttle across the desolate terrain. Growling cello and unstable horns underscore the torrents of percussive clatter. Catastrophe Point #5 is a haunting album of volatile, malevolent ambiance.. $7.00

Letum - Broken (Cold Meat Industry: CMI159)

Personal frustration has always been one of the most creative source of inspiration for artists, no matter what genre or art. The second musical offering from Mattias Henrikssons one-man project Letum shows no difference. From the calm and soft darkambient debut CD ''The Entrance to Salvation'' (CMI.95 - 2001), we found the new CD to be far from salvation! - the choral sounds are still there and the deep and darker sounds, mixed together with more harsh industrial ambiental elements. The whole album has a beautiful atmosphere of a down dirty depressive feeling of hopelessness and despair. Some sounds are utterly beautiful, some plain mad, some martial powerful and some gritty industrial, all together another very enjoyable travel into the Broken wasteland, a personal hell, guided by Letum.. $13.66

Ligne Claire - Ligne Claire CDR (Steelwork Maschine: SKM01)

First release for this project, which features input from David Delwiche (HYTC), Stéphane Flauder (Fin de Siècle), Serge Usson (Neon Rain, Storm Of Capricorn), Christophe Galès (Westwind) and Delphine Riou. A blend of old-school industrial, power drones, factory ambience and raw heavy electronics.. $9.00

Lindbergh Baby, The - Hoodwinked (False Flag: False01)

Recorded in Vermont and mastered at Absinthe Studios in Denver, Hoodwinked offers the listener eight finely crafted songs. Described as "psychoactive folklore", The *Lindbergh* Baby's sound explores the frontiers of weird Americana weaving folk, gothic and country threads into a quilt of spirited, rebellious rock-n-roll.Steeped in tradition and mystery, this recording comes in a handsome 6 panel digipak with lyrics and photos. Featuring members of Blood Axis, The *Lindbergh* Baby's 'Hoodwinked' is certain to please the discerning listener.. $13.50

Lingua Fungi - Flowery Dreams (War Office Propaganda: WOP023)

Magical journey through the strange dreams in beautiful flowery scenery, drifting and melting. No sharp line between sorrow and joy, dark and bright moments. Lingua Fungi takes us along on the trip to the land of subconscious. Real instruments - flutes, guitars, bass, mandolin and different kind of ethnic percussions mixed with ambient soundscapes. Glossy varnished digipack designed by Michal Karcz. For fans of Robert Rich, Alio Die, and the like.. $8.00

Lionel Marchetti & Seijiro Murayama - Hatali Atslei (L’Echange des Yeux) (Intransitive Records: INT031)

For his second Intransitive album, Lionel Marchetti returns to his favorite subject: the modern musique concrete composer as shaman. Amid an atmosphere of heavy mystery and engrossing, sublime confusion, Hatali Atsalei (L’Echange des Yeux) seems to be informed by radio drama, improvisation, and documentary recording. According to Olivier Capparos’ liner notes, the album provides a “rather faithful“ experience of Ancient Greek ritual: Hatali Atseli, the exchange of eyes. Marchetti the alchemist takes the listener to the scene of an imaginary sacred rite, drawing us in with hints of narrative, only to throw expectations aside with the slice of razor on tape. Fire, water, wind instruments and percussion are blended with the voice of collaborator Seijiro Murayama to create something which is not quite a representation of ritual, but is a ritual itself that becomes completed by the act of listening.. $6.00

Liyr - Fragments of Dust (Rage in Eden: Rage72)

New French act operating in the heavy neo-classical realm, with some rather hefty martial percussion, stern brass, and apocalyptic choirs. There’s no re-invention of the wheel here, but it’s definitely well done - well produced, and not “canned” sounding at all.. $14.33

Locrian - Drenched Lands (Small Doses: Doses43)

Since their inception in late 2005, Locrian have been honing their sound; working and re-working material; finding the right blend of noise, power electronics, dark ambient, and black metal to work into their sound. Drenched Lands is Locrian’s first full-length studio recording of all new material, and unfolds with an almost narrative structure. It starts with a slow descent into a dark abyss, moving torturedly, gradually rediscovering the light, then leaving you where everything began - completely transformed. The hour-long disc is rounded out by an extended bonus track previously unavailable in any digital format. The black-on-black disc packaged in an arigato pack with a 4-panel insert. Edition of 1000 copies. Co-released by At War With False Noise.. $10.99

Lost Kingdom - As the New Dawn Awakes (Waerloga: WAER011)

Debut album of the Swedish duo (brothers Daniel and Mikael Tjernberg) for our friends at the dark fantasy label Waerloga. The music is neoclassical, leaning towards Strauss but also Schumann, Chopin, Liszt, Wagner, Verdi, Brahms, Dvorák, Tjajkovskij and Mahle, with hints of modernism. True classic orchestrations here, with no martial overtones (since most of you probably expect that when you see the term neo-classical)...just baroque, romantic, flowing melodies, sometimes soothing, other times veering off into more dramatic areas. Check it out at www.myspace.com/lostkingdommusic. $8.00

Lost Kingdom - Meant For Great Things (Waerloga: WAER07)

Lost Kingdom's second installment "Meant for Great Things" is a truly great step in the right direction. The 9 tracks are thematically centered around a medieval tale, which unfolds in with epic full orchestra arrangements mixed with music for chamber ensemble and more intimate sections. Simon Kolle, the man behind bands such as Za Frûmi and Musterion (and more) have mastered this jewel of an album. The two Tjernberg brothers, that are Lost Kingdom, have done a more dramatic and powerful sounding songs this time around. Still it's neo-classical but this time the theme is hinted in the tracklist. Expect drama, war and tragedy. But also many beautiful pieces which are like magical gems on this fantastic album.. $13.99

Luasa Raelon - Into the Void CD (Crucial Blast: Bliss24)

"Concert Industriel Pour Orgue" is an extensive composition in quasi-oratorial form, in final version abbreviated and restructuralised. Classical form is here only in contours. The opus is characterised by thematic spurts, erupting in desultory pulses and, exhausted, dying away in a mass of industrial sounds, without consequent ending of idea. The industrial matrix is also a space and energy source for volcanic activity. The solo role of the organ is surprisingly not dominant and its parts are often taken over by other instruments, giving the highlighted church atmosphere of the composition. Ltd x 435 copies in an outsized textured sleeve with artcard.. $10.00

Luasa Raelon - Vampyr: Light of the Beast (Fatal Beliefs: Fatal04)

A 40-minute long journey inspired by the art of Bocklin, Caspar David Friedrich, Fulci and classic B&W horror movies. Effective in it's minimalistic approach, offering chilling synthscapes populated by wavering textures, unsettling drones, and dread filled atmospheres. Most of you should be familiar with Luasa Raelon's work at this point, and he fails to disappoint here.. $9.66

Lull - Like A Slow River (Glacial Movements: GM004)

After a long period of silence, Glacial Movements Records is glad to announce the return of one the most important representatives of ambient isolationist music ever: the wonderful English artist Mick J. Harris aka LULL (Scorn, Painkiller, Napalm Death).Unquestionable genius of the last century's second half European music and point of reference about the rising isolationist aesthetics, being on the same wavelength as post-rock last scenaries. "Like a Slow River" it's a work characterized by sharp and minimal atmospheres but also dark, cold and huge such as big bodies of ice which slowly move carried by an endless river. The five compositions of "Like a Slow River" reach the high expectations of the previous works such as "Cold Summer", "Continue" and the "Murder Ballads" trilogy with Martin Bates. With no doubt, this is the coldest and darkest work ever composed by this pioneer of industrial-ambient music. You all will be led to the oblivion of your existence....the freezing darkness of these glacial night is going to come down on your bodies and minds....you'll fall in your deepest sleep with the far echo of glacial runnings........the way to eternity is in front of you...... $15.33
