Inade - The Incarnation of the Solar Architects
(LOKI: LOKI50)
 |
There is a world that shadows our world, a world of mysterious design and unspoken secrets, of space that breathes and infinite echoes that never cease to cry. Mirrors that refract images into dark pools of cosmic nothingness. Inade explore these worlds on their latest masterpiece, The Incarnation of the Solar Architects, in which sound is utilized in a transformative manner, not only to focus on that which lies beyond and that which has never been seen, but to embrace the Darkness and let it wash over one's soul. The mythology that Inade has created touches that place beyond forever, yet now, through the insistence of that which lurks in the margins, a metamorphosis has transpired, in which the cosmos of self has awakened. If one believes that God is everywhere, so is the Darkness that came before Him. A Darkness thriving with anonymous ideals (the possibilities are endless ... ) and devious intentions, resplendent with mystical creatures that shamble through antediluvian kingdoms constructed from polished metal, luxurious crystals, and unlimited dreams ... though one would need new eyes to see them, and new ears to hear them. Inade provide the soundtrack--the frisson of unease is abundant, a churning, seething dread that veers into awe. It's up to the individual listener to listen intently, behind shuttered eyelids ... to see and experience the true labyrinthine hierarchy of black splendor that awaits. Massive, awe-inspiring, crushing cosmic doom from the best dark ambient band in existence. A MUST!!! Those of you on the boxset list should expect an e-mail from me shortly (otherwise, please note it is %100 sold out).. $15.33

Long time announced to be released on CMI, now proudly out on OEC Incinerator International is a collaborative project between US noisemaster John Balistreri (Slogun) and Swedish multi-musician Henrik Nordvargr Björkk (MZ. 412, Folkstorm, HH9, Nordvrgr, Econocon, Toroidh, etc). Soundwise you will recognize the frantic vocals that Slogun is known for, but this time the musical backdrop is more of a gritty Folkstorm-ish nature.. $14.50

Infestation - Bastion Intouchable
(Rage in Eden: Rage65)

Bastion Intouchable is formal debut of French Canadian martial industrial act Infestation. Rousing orchestrations full of emphatic brass proclamations, violent martial percussions, and gruff, anger fueled vocals that express with vehemence the desire for subsistence of the folks of Québec. Every folk, every nation has its own battle to fight and martial industrial is the perfect musical style to express and illustrate theses ideological struggles. The untouchable bastion is rising. Influenced by the like of Puissance, In Slaughter Natives, Triarii, The Protagonist, Across the Rubicon and Rome.11 tracks, 64 minutes, 3-panel digipack.. $13.33

In Meditarium - The Great Limbo
(Wrotycz: WRT010)
 |
In Meditarivm is an Ukrainian apocalyptic ritual & dark ambient project founded in 2000 by Olegh Kolyada, known for (prior to this at least) his projects First Human Ferro, Ostarbeiter and Oda Relicta. Previous albums like the CDrs "Les Fleurs du Mal" and "Uterus" outlined the old school approach of the project, clearly influenced by the likes of Morthound, Ildfrost, ConSono or Archon Satani. As such, this is some solid, good old fashioned dark industrial in the early CMI vein - plenty of ghostly reverb, factory clangs, and cavernous atmospheres with subtle, solemn melodies and loops. The record, accompanied by a talented artwork of Kati Astraeir, comes as a limited to 500 copies 4-panel UV-varnished digipack with a poster.. $13.33

Innfallen - Three Days of Darkness

 |

"Three Days of Darkness" is presented to you in a retro uncoated A5 digipak.. $12.00

In Scissors - Orbis Terrarum Requiem
(Zoharum: Zohar008)
 |
In Scissors actually sent me this awhile ago looking to release it on Malignant. I turned it down, mostly because it wasn't really a good fit for Malignant, but I thought about it a lot, and there's definitely some strong pieces on here (the first track alone is enough to leave quite an impression). Mostly string and woodwind based neo-classical in the more "romantic" vein rather than the bombastic vein, but flirting with aspects of ritual dark ambient. There's definitely some reference points you can make here , but In Scissors seems to have their own feel."Orbis Terrarum Requiem" in brief means "The World's Requiem" or "The Earth'sRequiem" and in the case of this album the second explanation given fits better toits concept and thematology. It is a requiem for the destruction that has befallen Earth/Nature as inflicted by humans.. $12.66

Institut - The Struggle Never Ended
(Cold Meat Industry: CMI143)
 |
Lirim Cajani's project Institut should be well established now. This newly recorded effort, the first CD without earlier member Johanna Rosenqvist, is a solid tribute to the struggle of the little man. The sound is more up-front live-centered, almost totally devoid of rhythms throughout and with a lot of anguished and hateful vocals. Full of drenching static and simple but effective walls of noise and reverberating samples which surely works sufficiently incisive. Unabashedly harsh and uncompromising brutal, this is about as pure a straight up power electronics release as youll find. It just roars with brutality and vengeance, reminding me a bit of Grunt this time around (as opposed to Haus Arafna with the previous releases), though with a different vocal style. $13.33

Invercauld - Deamhan
(Clinical Records: CR01)
 |
The debut releases from Steel Hook's own label, Clinical Records. With "Deamhan", Invercauld has resurfaced from the murky depths of the abyss after years of virtual silence since his last CD release in 2004, "Tiamhaidh" on the internationally respected Canadian Label, Cyclic Law. D. Finley offers up a powerful opus of masterfully crafted dark ambience with a continuation of deep, droning explorations inspired by his ancient Scottish ancestry. With songs titled in the primitive Gaelic dialect, accompanied by English definitions, this latest work is a logical progression of this slowly evolving behemoth of drone. Deamhan is a powerful litany of crisp, synthesized passages. A total of fourteen tracks meticulously layered, with soul jarring drones that heave and dirge, erupting into noise laden saturations. Where Tiamhaidh harnessed more of an Earth bound and overall organic feel, Deamhan seems to transcend time and space. Taking the listener on a fascinating journey through infinite realms of dark matter and aural sorcery. For true connoisseurs of Dark Ambience, Invercauld's "Deamhan" is a worthy addition to your collection.. $11.00

Irem of Pillars - As the Sun Darkens CDR
(Avatar: Avatar03)
Re-stock! More great output from the consistent Avatar,.While perhaps not as established or well known as their label counterparts Ionosphere or Combative Alignment (though perhaps due to less limited output), this certainly solidifies their rightful place among those two heavy weights. Great ritual, occult sounds, with slow tribal drumming surrounded by sacred voices and droning, mystical ambience. Hypnotic, enrapturing, exotic, and dark sounds to delight the blackened soul. For fans of Herbst9, Raison dEtre, and all things CMI and LOKI. $10.99

Irrumatorium - Also Sprach My Ass CDr
(Steelwork Maschine: SKM-05)
 |
Irrumatorium is a french artist of 40 years who creates improvised electronic sounds somewhere between '70 cosmic drones and old school industrial music (Illusion of Safety and Arcane Device both came to mind when I listened to this), using only an analog modeling synthesizer directly recorded live in digital two tracks... "Because it's like a manifest against the post-modern world !" says Irrumatorium. After some collaborations, "Also Sprach My Ass" is his first solo album, based on artist's thinkings or critic ideas who's especially motivated his life : the readymades by Marcel Duchamp, the international situationism, the book Fight Club, the Occam's razor principle, the inexplicable missing of The Gerogerigegege, etc.. $7.00
