This record is the beginning of a new era of ACOH and a milestone in martial-neoclassic-folk!!!. $15.50

A Challenge of Honour - No Way Out (Vrihaspati: VR013)

The brand new album from A Challenge Of Honour! Since their last album "Seven Samurai" was released 4 years ago and in these past years many things changed in ACOH. With "No Way Out" you will hear a completely new side of ACOH. The album would be best described as a pure Neofolk 'n' Pop album with many Neoclassical and some Martial elements. Peter learned to play several acoustic instruments in the last years and some guest musicians also helped to create the band's new style. Most songs are with lyrics and have quite a dreamy and catchy atmosphere with monumental and heroic parts. Some songs even spread a feeling of early 80s independent music like Joy Division, the Fall, New Model Army. Digipak.. $12.99

Aderlating - Devotional Hymns (Shadowgraph: Shadow06)

Mining the same unholy regions as main project Gnaw Their Tongues, the latest from side project Aderlating features eight torturous expressions of absolute horror and utter dread, manifested through black ambience, nightmare rituals, and heavy electronic terror. To put it in the words of the artist: drone / horror soundtrack / noise. draining all the blood from your worthless body with nausea inducing 20 khz drones fistfucking distorted tapehiss raped soundscapes while the lowest and vilest of demons provide a diabolical orchestration to celebrate the death of everything. Music just doesn't get much darker than this.. $10.66

Aeoga - Coav (Aural Hypnox: AH02)
The debut album from Aeoga, titled 'Coav ', presents very original and haunting material based on spiralling dark drones, eerie guitar feedback textures, archaic drum and cymbal patterns, atonal / tonal vocalizations and distant / peculiar sample layers. The 8 tracks of the album offer material from organic dark ambient / archaic & ascetic horizons to dark and haunting tribal/ritual atmospheres. Like label mates Halo Manash, this expands sonic horizons…ultra dynamic and layered in complex patterns. Wow, so far this label can’t go wrong.. $13.00

Aere Aeternus - Humanity Needs No Funeral (Kaosthetik: KSTK006)

Re-stock! "Humanity Needs No Funeral", the first full-length album from Aere Aeternus, is released on the French label Kaosthetik. With a multi-national and eclectic lineup, the band comprises Alex (Macabre Omen, The One, Razor of Occam), Claudio Alcara (Frostmoon Eclipse, Striszek), Cyr (Dark Sanctuary, Elektronic Society) and Radu. Drawing on the wide range and considerable musical experience of its members, Aere Aeternus creates a dark, disturbing atmosphere that probably best fits within the ambient and minimalist genres, and which the band themselves describe as "half misanthropic ritual and half sex ritual." Very obscure and brooding sounds full of spoken incantations, ritual percussion, and just a very evil, disturbing vibe all around. The dominant atmosphere combines a sense of impending insanity with sexual deviancy and a large dollop of occultism, creating a dark and troubling misanthropic sojourn that is relatively unique. The final track is probably the most musical, as it is centred on a guitar arpeggio, but no such concessions to convention are present elsewhere on this deeply troubling disk. The accompanying video of "Invocation" shows a Satanic ritual in all its kitchsy glory. Recommended for those looking for something a darker than the usual entities. .. $13.33

Aesthetic Meat Front - Temple of Flesh (Old Europa Café: OECD087)

Celebrating the 10th anniversary of Aesthetic Meat Front . Features the text from AMF's Temple Of Flesh ritual, translated into 12 languages, and then processed into a world of mysterious invocations and chants, industrial drones and dark ambience. A truly creepy, harrowing sonic journey, deep dark resonant smears of low end drift beneath martial drumming, and haunting chants, swirling snippets of sound, warbling and whirring, growled animalistic voices, bizarre ambient FX, jagged shards of industrial detritus, bursts of fuzzed out hiss and grinding slabs of rhythmic chaos, creepy chorales stretched into seasick soundscapes, disembodied voices drift and hover, snippets of found sound and conversation, all of these disparate elements woven into an epic, monstrous sonic tale of death destruction and mayhem, of blood and death and rebirth. So intense and strangely beautiful. Packaged in a DVD style case with a handful of full color inserts, with photos from the rituals, text and assorted AMF related information.. $6.00

Aeterna - New Dawn (Cold Meat Industry: CMI199)

Awake the New Dawn! Aeterna is a new apocalyptic folk outfit from Germany, born in 2007. In the beginning it was intended to be the strictly personal musical outlet for founding member Birthe Klementowski, well-known from her artwork for Cold Meat Industry’s Desiderii Marginis, :Golgatha: and Dawn & Dusk Entwined, but the dynamics between Alpha and Omega brought forth something new. The dark and brooding atmospheres invoke the mood of decline and decay, a direct resemblance to the artist’s photography. The album ‘New Dawn’ ultimately presents 11 songs about the decline and rebirth of culture.Aeterna does not serve ideological pattern but presents the musical and visual output as an inspiration for the audience. Death is always the beginning of a new circle. Out of hopelessness arises a New Dawn. As the earth faces the end of resources and the destruction of nature, the loss of spiritual values and the total virtualisation of the all-day life, mankind experiences a self made inferno. We have to turn and find new ways… Aeterna is a prayer for these new ways. For new spiritual values to ignite the fire of enlightenment once more. To create something new out of the old roots. The Old Gods eventually may not return, but the Eternal Principle is still there. The music of Aeterna is based on ritualistic and shamanistic structures, mainly acoustic sounds, and invoking chants – all based on the dualistic principle of male and female energy – Alpha & Omega. Aeterna is a trans-modern, neo-shamanistic, animistic art project. A Luciferian hymnus to awake the New Dawn…. $13.99

Ahnst Anders - dialog (Pflicht: Pflicht032)

New signing on the Pflichtkauf label, AHNST ANDERS present their first, aptly titled album "Dialog" : Representing a dialogue between organic and electronic sounds, merged with a slice of industrial strength drum n' bass and infiltrating ambient textures, the results are a pure, undiluted aural expierience. The CD comes presented in a special matt varnish digipak and comes complete with five unique and exclusive cards printed on both sides with a pictorial accompaniment to each song.. $8.00

Ain Soph - III 2xCD (Old Europa Café: OECD023)

This stuff was previously produced by the band only as tape in a very limited edition of just 100 copies & never reissued ! This legendary tape is now finally released into 2 cd's: 1st cd features "ritual 00" which is an endless trancy loop used for a Bhakti Yoga rite which can be used also as background for ritual concentration... 2nd cd is enttitled "the failure of Jesus, visible oscurity, garbage, the city & the death"... for sure the more obscure & rare Ain Soph release! co-produced with Misty Circles. $19.99

Ain Soph - October 2nd Edition CD/3inch (OEC: OECD044)

10 years later, the follow-up to Aurora. When will these guys slow down?? Don't expect the dark, ritual style of the early works…this is purely structured discordant rock, with electric guitar and all Italian vocals. Still, with roots in the industrial underground, this maintains a healthy experimental edge as it tells tales of a young Russian man during the October Revolution. I’d venture to say that Novy Svet and Mushrooms Patience fans may enjoy this, not just for the weirdness factor, but for the slight similarities in sound from time to time. This NEW edition comes with completely new designed art work and an additional 3" mini CD containing a new audio track recorded in 2008 + a video track. $9.99

Akoustik Timbre Frekuency - Kthonik Korridors CDr (ATF Produktions: ATF004)

Akoustik Timbre Frekuency utilises a variety of ritual instruments including singing bowls, rain sticks, Tibetan horns, aura chimes, shamanik rattles as well as synthesised sounds to create trance-augmenting background atmospherics for ritual usage. Compositions have been created using field recordings from locations ranging from treetops to sewers, from nature parks to pubs on a Friday night. With Kthonik Korridors, ATF has created an homage to H.P. Lovecraft (in commeration of 73 years since his death), with 6 tracks of cryptic, sepuchral ambience that can used as background atmospherics for Rites dedicated to the Cthulhu mythos. Instrumentation for this recording include singing bowls, flutes, rattles, synth and a large chunk of meatset upon with knives, machetes and a pitchfork. Includes the requisite reverb and heavy echo to great effect, and the result is a very dark, creepy, and haunting recording perhaps remiscent of Profane Grace to some degree, albeit with greater production values.. $13.33

Albireon - Mr. Nightbird Hates Blueberries (Old Europa Café: OECD132)

A dark comedy or a folk drama about drunk birds, mocking spiders, empty bottles and lost souls.Starring David E. Williams, Lloyd James, Sonne Hagal, Future Whirl, Die Weisse Rose.A strange manuscript, telling a tale about some bizarre characters, found somewhere in a forgotten cellar and hidden by countless broken bottles, was the inspiring spark for this dark comedy or folk drama-as the subtitles suggest-set to music in order to show how love can be a faint illusion and the deepest of all wounds. For this decadent party, recorded between late 2008 to early 2010 and graced by great emotional neo folk ballads and more experimental gloomy soundscapes, Albireon invited some very selected guests to share this tasty blueberries’ cake and offer the album a different palette of vocal nuances and a multinational coven of damned artists’ parade.American songwriter-genious David E. Williams, UK’s finest minstrel Lloyd James of Naevus, german neo folk leading act Sonne Hagal, Norwegian/american highly talented artist Future Whirl (formerly Oberon) and the new martial heroes Die Weisse Rose are the selected guests of Mr. Nightbird’s party. These great artists offered a priceless contribution to Albireon’s music and lyrics, and perfectly painted the sad main character, in his struggling pilgrimage toward love, loss, forgiveness and rebirth, but all seen through the drunk eye of the mocking spiders. And after all, you now may be guessing why Mr.Nightbird hates blueberries?Listen to the album and find out why!. $14.50

Alison Wait - Dove Esistono Solo I Ricordi (Eibon: ALI082)

Beautifully produced minimal ambient with a cinematic impact, breathing a sense of melancholy. Alison Wait project consisting of Filippo (guitars, keyboards, bass, pc, samples, field recordings and vocals) and Alessandro (guitars, keyboards, bass and vocals) was formed back in December 2006. Inspired by Le Masque, Colloquio, 80's new wave, Swans, Seigmen, Kent, Bel Canto, Italian songwriters (Luigi Tenco, Fabrizio De Andrè, Paolo Conte, Bruno Lauzi) some ambient-industrial projects (Thomas Köner, Inade, Job Karma, R-A-A-N) and the poems and novels of Cesare Pavese. Recommended.. $13.50

Allerseelen - Rauhe Schale (Ahnstern: Ahnstern44)

"Rauhe Schale" ('Rough Shell') is the brand new album from Austrian legends Allerseelen, which fascinates musically as well as visually. Everything moves and flows in a field of force between industrial, metal, folklore and pop. Lovers of bands like Einstürzende Neubauten, Laibach or Underworld could also fall in love with Allerseelen. Gerhard Hallstatt sometimes describes his music as Electronic Folklore or Apocalyptic Rock. But basically there is no real description for Allerseelen - all attempts to find an expression for their music may be valid for some time, yet lose their meaning after a couple of months or years. The songs were inspired by various magical mystery tours in Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Greece, Italy and Slovenia. Gerhard is assisted here by Dimo Dimov (Svarrogh, Miel Noir, Sturmpercht), Marcel P. (Sagittarius, Halgadom), Meri Tadic (Eluveitie) and Annabel Lee (Blood Axis). 70 mins. of music in a digipak with booklet.. $14.33

Allerseelen/Neutral/Otzepenevshiye - Georg Trakl. Umnachtung (Ewers Tonkunst: HHE016)

Three way split between Allerseelen, / Otzepenevshiye, Neutral, inspired by the dark symbolist poetry of the Austrian poet Georg Trakl. This is my first encounter with Otzepenevshiye, and it's pretty positive...long tracks full of dirgey bass and droney discordant atmospheres. Neutral contribute three tracks of solemn, melodic ambience and neo-folk with spoken word, while Allerseelen, naturally, are the highlight...three delicious concoctions all quite different in their approach and style, but of course sounding uniquely like Allerseelen.. $9.99

Allerseelen/Sangre Cavallum - Barco do Vinho (Ahnstern: Ahnstern21)

Barco do Vinho is the Portuguese word for Wine Boat - the boats that in the past brought the barrels of wine from the vineyards in Callaecia (Northern Portugal) on the river Douro to the town of Porto. The CD features four exclusive songs by the Northern-Portuguese group Sangre Cavallum and four exclusive songs by the Austrian group Allerseelen - ancient and traditional but at the same time brand-new avant-garde music, somewhere between apocalyptic folklore and psychedelic rock. Poetical songs about wine taken down rivers with crews of strong men, floating down throats with crews of sparkling spirits. Inspired by the vineyards that welcome the sun bringing character to grapes. Then a silent darkness, a timeless life inside oak barrels turn wine into flavoured blood for a toast between men and nature.. $13.33

Alle Sagen Ja - The Voice of Bronze Preludes a Song (War Office Propaganda: WOP28)
Alle Sagen Ja is a Dead Man’s Hill sideproject thematically centered around WWII. Miltaristic percussion, dark atmospheres and battlefield sounds, with spoken vocals telling true stories and poems taken from the 2nd world war. Emotional and moving. $8.99

Allseits - Hel (Cyclic Law: 23rd Cycle)

ALLSEITS is the Solo project of the german instrumentalist Nina Kernicke known from her recent collaboration with German Drone pioneers Troum of which Nina has also been a recent live member of and her work under her other alias, ALLSIDES. The Album "Hel“ describes the way into the underworld, the listener is guided through various stages on the journey down to Hel, the Norse mythological term for hell and also for the goddess Hel who is said to keep watch over the underworld. The journey begins at the foot of Yggdrasil, the world tree, under which the entry to Hel is hidden. We then ride the river Gjöll, that flows along the human world before it runs down to Hel. Gjöll is spanned by the bridge Gjallarbrù which is guarded by Modgudr, a female giant, who decides who can pass the bridge. Leaving Gjallarbrú behind, the large dog Garm that sentinels the gate to Hel is waiting and at his side sits Fjalar, a rooster that will crow to signify the beginning of Ragnarok, the end of the world. After passing Fjalar Hel is finally reached. This allegoric tale is expressed diligently by Kernicke with the use of guitar, bass, drums and skillful sampling creating thick drony layers of deep and solemn emotions.Edition of 1000 copies In gatefold cardboard sleeve.6 Tracks.. $12.33

Amestigon - Sun of All Suns (Hau Ruck!: HR!95)

Finally, after more than 15 years of haunting existence, Amestigon releases its first full length album. Various EP's and contributions to split-CD's bridged the long wait for the eagerly anticipated Black Metal Masterpiece "Sun of all Suns".. As suggested above Amestigon stands for pure Austrian Black Metal Art.. Thematically the album is located between the occult and ethics of cruelty, sociopathy and abuse. On this mission Amestigon is supported by Summonings Silenius and Albin Julius himself as guest musicians. Be aware to dive into a world of penetrating pain...Comes in nice Digipak and 8 page booklet.. $14.99

A Minority of One - Bathe in Fiery Answer (Autumn Wind Productions: AWP026)

A Minority Of One consists of Jason H. Craban, Markus Wolff, Arrowyn Craban, Jason O’Neill- Butler, and James Woodhead. From Heathen Harvest: "Pure expression and spirit bursts from the seams of this recording. A word on the general atmosphere: this music feels old. Not like medieval, not like Palaeolithic, but more like tectonic. Great beings, lurking in the primordial mists of the earth’s history, have reached across the eons and set this band to work as their musical vessel. The result seizes one by the reptile brain and greedily devours. The music is generally minimal. Primitive drumming, singing chimes and clattering percussion; shadowy sibilance and echoing sounds falling away into caverns of aural darkness; beautiful nature samples, commanding choral vocals, eerie croaks and groans; arrangements that open spaces rather than define concrete melodies or themes.. $5.00

Anabasis/Gargrim the Liar - Two Worlds 2CD (Waerloga: Waer016)

Two Worlds is the Waerloga debut of both Anabasis & Gargrim the Liar. Yet it is not right to call this release a split CD as each artist got one CD for their own "world" and release. Both CDs are packed in one Jewel case with great cover/back artwork made by none other than John Howe, famous for his work as the leading artist in Peter Jackson´s Lord of the Rings trilogy and other brilliant illustrations. The music (almost 120 minutes total) of both artists are dark fantasy inspired, cinematic and neoclassical.Inspired by a poem by the English poet Robert Browning, Anabasis' music paint a wonderful story filled with heroism, adventure, darkness and valor. Anabasis is not only inspired by the poem, he also "describe" (in music) personalities and events presented in themes in a Wagnarian way (leit-motives). You will find a hero-theme, traitor theme, stronghold-theme and so forth. They all show up disguised in different tempos and different meters. The music is highly cinematic and instrumental. Gargrim is inspired by Warhammer fantasy roleplay and other roleplaying games. Most of all one specific campaign which deals with a power struggle among four families and an almost Romeo and Juliet sort of love drama as backdrop. Don´t get that story wrong and confused with cheasy romantic crap as this story is filled with mysterious killings, endless debates in the council halls, dark deep intrigues on many levels and all takes place in the upper class among the nobility. The music on this wonderful CD bare hints of such as Ennio Morricone, Hans Zimmer, Klaus Badelt and other Hollywood composers, but with an own style of instrumental stunning dark fantasy music with lot´s of atmosphere and really good melodies. SALE - $7.00 for 2CDs? Are you kidding me? This stuff is pretty legit too, not some plonk.. $7.00

Anenzephalia - Ephemeral Dawn (Tesco: Tesco026)

Welcome re-issue of one of the absolute best, top 10, industrial records of all time. If you don't have this, your collection will never be complete. In fact, I don't think there's been a record as good as this since then...other than Genocide Organ 'Remember' and maybe IRM's 'Oedipus Dethroned'. Here's the review I wrote for Audio Drudge back in 1996: Despite that facty that the majority of this CD was recorded live ,it lacks much of the outward aggression that dominated their appearance at Festival Karlsruhe. But, even a more subdued Anenzephalia is some inexpilcably intense, managing to give rise to a variety of moods and affections, most prominent among them a rather sever feeling of nausea and sickening disease. Be sure, Ephemeral Dawn will have you squirming in your seat as infectious, power drunk loops, drones, buzzes, and low range, tension building oscillating electronics burrow and worm their way into pores and under the skin. Music this monotone and one dimensional rarely succeeds on it's subtletiess, so it's virtually a requirement that this be played as loud as humanly possible for maximum, ultra pulverizing effect. If, after doing that you still don't agree this is a massive release, come see me and I'll help you pull your head out of your ass. In digipak packaging, as opposed to the fold out poster the original came in.. $15.33

Anenzephalia - Live (Death Factory: Death011)

A tediously long wait has finally deliverd the goods from one of Germany’s great power electronic stalwarts. Live recordings from 1996, sturdily built with power mad loops and burrowing frequencies. Like all Anenzephalia recordings, there’s a degree of restraint shown in the electronic sides of things (though live obviously carries much greater dynamics than studio), but all that goes out the window when the vocal’s kick in. Absolutely mandatory that you play this at high volume for ultra-pulverizing effect. Another classic from the Anenzephalia camp.. $14.66

Anhedonia - Ontology (Aliens Productions: AP19)

Second album by this Slovakian project, where flowing dark ambient meets IDM rhythms. Compared to acts like Gridlock, Flint Glass and Polygon. $11.33

Antlers Mulm - Of Withered Sparks (LOKI: LOKI47)

The third album of Antlers Mulm opts for deep resonating tones that are harmonious and hypnotic with a greater emphasis on percussion, while foraying into song based structures. Dark beats linked with impressive vibes bringing highlights of an extraordinary world of sound. Mystical melodies melt into an intense atmosphere guided by the outstanding voice of the father of shadows, Hans Johm. Throbbing samples enrich this compositions to a homogenic masterpiece. The overall sound is warm and inviting and has a introspective, melancholy feel.Easily the most song based LOKI release ever - take a deep breath and get lost in this aural world of Antlers Mulm. Limited Digipak with 12page booklet.. $14.99

Aossic S'lba - PanAeonic Glyphs CDr (Old Europa Café: OECDR40)

New project from Ulex Xane, otherwise known as Streicher, though going in a completely different direction from that infamous project. Aossic S'lba is an occult project based in large part on the work of Kenneth Grant, a British occultist, student of Crowley, and head of the magical order previously known as the Typhonian Ordo Templi Orientis Nothing harsh here - just ritual and obscure dark-ambient music, with flowing textures, hallucinatory, dream like electronics, and spaced out shimmerings. Surprisingly polished and well done, considering the overall lo-fi nature of Streicher.. $13.33

Apatheia - Lifethesis (Cold Meat Industry: CMI204)

Gothenburg-based multi-instrumentalist and sound sculptor Linus Andersson is a busy man. Not only does he beat the drums for goth-Industrialist outfit Coph Nia, and work as a sound engineer and producer for everything from hair metal to contemporary art music, he also plays in a bunch of punk bands. No wonder his own neofolk project, Apatheia, seems to suffer from… well, apathy. Despite existing for about a decade, it has only produced a few releases, in highly limited editions on highly obscure labels. But as anyone who has heard any of this material knows, they have been well worth tracking down. Apatheia’s songs are typically well arranged and well played, with a strong sense of melody and sound. A song like “Rot in the Core” is worth the entire productions of some of the neofolk outfits out there. This situation couldn’t last. It would only be a matter of time before a label grabbed Apatheia and gave its music the audience it deserved. This label turned out to be renowned Swedish label Cold Meat Industry, and now they’re re-releasing Apatheia’s Lifethesis. This is what main man Andersson has to say for himself:“Originally released in an edition of 100 copies by Stridulum Recordings in 2003, Lifethesis consists of some of the earliest Apatheia material, recorded in Linköping between 2001 and 2002. The recording quality is rough and the performances are often spontaneous and not always perfect - and all for the better! I considered remastering the album, but quickly realized that it did more harm than good. To me, these old bedroom recordings have a certain quality to them that couldn't have been reproduced in a proper studio setting”.While his musical merits speak for themselves, there is more that makes Apatheia a bit unique in the world of neofolk. In a genre obsessed with symbols of power, conquest and control, Apatheia (the term denotes a state of detachment from the world) is all about retreating to one’s bedroom, to regroup and plot one’s revenge against everyone and everything. A bit like punk, only less noisy, less smelly and – let’s admit it – less silly. So, rejoice that the notoriously perfectionist studio rat Andersson has decided to let some of his old treasures out of the vault. If Lifethesis doesn’t make you eager to hear more of his releases, then you’re not really interested in this sort of music, are you?. $14.33

Aphelion - Lay (Shadowgraph: Shadow01)

Cool stuff from this Washington state artist. Soundwise, think the bastard offspring of Dissecting Table and Navicon Torture Technologies, that came out completely malformed and misshapen. 10 brutal creations fueled by anger and pain, spewing forth a barrage of relentless sound layers combining dark, chaotic noise with walls of blasting percussion, screams, samples, and just plain bedlam. $5.00

Aqua Dorsa - Cloudlands (Glacial Movements: GM006)

Aquadorsa is a new musical Italian ambient project formed by Enrico Coniglio and Oophoi.Their first work, “Cloudlands” is a perfect mix of glitch, classical and orchestral glacial ambient soundscape. Enrico Coniglio is aguitar player and composer and his research has increasingly focused on the relationship between 'music' and'landscape ', in an attempt to represent the contemporary crisis of the territory, the loss of nature and identity of places, and the unknown on the evolution of post-urban andpost-industrial territory.. $12.66

Arbeit - Zum Einem Neuen Licht (Autumn Wind Productions: AWP017)

Synth-driven martial/orchestral stuff from this apparently French project, though very German when it comes to track titles and imagery. Obviously deals with WWII which is pronounced by war-themed samples and martial drum machine, and so on. Pretty formulaic. Compared to and influenced by the likes of Der Blutharsch, Death In June and Blood Axis.. $11.00

Arcana - Inner Pale Sun (Cold Meat Industry: CMI121)

Re-issue. Here's my original review. Wow, really beautiful stuff. I listen to this, and can't help think it'd have made a great soundtrack to the quieter portions of Lord of the Rings. Stoic, emotional, grandiose, neo-classical atmospheres that are at times tranquil and lulling, other times more epic and stirring. Compared to past releases, this is calmer and more minimalistic, but even more gorgeous and personal. The Dead Can Dance references can still be made, but as far as I'm concerned, they never made a record even half as good as this.. $14.75

Arcana - The First Era 1996-2002 4CD Boxset (Cyclic Law: 27th Cycle)

Very few bands evoke such awe and inspiration than this Swedish act driven by the now legendary talent of Peter Bjärgö. ARCANA have been pillars and always at the forefront of the so called Neo Classical / Heavenly Voices movement with their poignant, ethereal and medieval inspired music since their very first album, Dark Age Of Reason was released in 1996 on Sweden's Cold Meat Industry label on which they subsequently released 3 other albums, Cantar De Procella (1997) ...The Last Embrace (2000) and Inner Pale Sun (2002) making ARCANA one of the most regarded and praised act on the label. Sorrowful strings, Doomsday horns and trumpets, massive percussion and snares, bells, Dulcimer all interlaced with exquisite Male and Female voices create a quite singular atmosphere of grandeur and of melancholy for times long gone... ARCANA's music leaves hardly no one indifferent, it's able to touch and move in ways very few acts have been able to achieve, it's music is timeless and rediscovering these albums years later certainly proves this...now sold out for some years we are pleased to present these classic albums together in a special format. This 4CD box set includes the first 4 albums with bonus tracks taken from various compilations and mini albums covering the early days of this unique act. The first 3 albums have also been carefully ReMastered, "Dark Age Of Reason" by Peter Bjärgö and the "Cantar De Procella" and "...The Last Embrace" albums by Frederic Arbour. 4 CDs housed in separate sleeves, 40 pages Booklet relating Arcana's early days all packaged in a rigid cardboard box. Limited edition of 2000 copies.. $38.66

Arditi - Standards of Triumph (Equilibrium: EQM014)
Spearheaded by H. Möller and M. Björkman, Arditi's first recordings came to light in 1997, inspired by the Italian Futurist Movement of the early 20th century. Given both members' involvement in other projects (such as Puissance or Algaion), it was not until 2002 that the first Arditi output would come to be released - the limited edition 7" EP "Unity of Blood" (Svartvintras Productions, 2002) earned the project excellent criticism which served as motivation for the preparation of a few other efforts put out during the following years, among which their debut album, "Marching On To Victory" (Svartvintras Productions, 2003), the split CD "United in Blood" (Neuropa, 2004), shared with the Swedish Toroidh, and most recently "Spirit of Sacrifice" (Blooddawn, 2005). The project's recent alliance with Equilibrium Music resulted in the release of the daunting appetizer "Destiny of Iron" 7" EP, wherein Arditi presented two brand new and exclusive tracks in a limited edition of 500 copies, and paved the way for the "Standards of Triumph", a new full-length opus now available in both Digipak CD and limited edition heavy vinyl via Equilibrium Music. Boasting the unique personality of this Swedish combo, "Standards of Triumph" taps further into the darker tones of Militaristic Neo-Classical ambiance that has become the band's trademark, resulting in their strongest effort so far - ever effective in their use of crushing orchestrations and evocative speeches, Arditi hereby drags the listener around muddy trenches, leaving aside overly pompous festive marches or alcohol fueled merry bunker songs which seem to have become the norm as of late, and casting an hypnotizing veil over the turmoil of warfare-inspired Industrial soundscapes. $14.50

Hypnotic, darkly beautiful and ritualistic, 'Enraptured Serene Mesmerism' is professionally written, recorded and presented material from Greece's Arkane. Lush darkwave/neo-classical with ambient and deep symphonic elements. Melodic and emotive with beautiful, soaring female vocals and period spoken male vocals. Arktau Eos - Ai Ma Ra 2CD (Aural Hypnox: AH11)

Ai Ma Ra is a monumental album containing over 105 minutes of experimental elemental and ambient music, original in the literal sense of the word. More than music, it is 'ethnography of the unknown' in action, providing vistas into rarely glimpsed corners of reality. Created primarily on acoustic instruments, organs and harmonium, carefully mastered on vintage tape, the sound is equally earthy as it is otherworldly – a contradiction in terms maybe, but then Ai Ma Ra is not classified easily in any other respect either. It is a record in which to immerse one’s self over time, containing more than two years' worth of strange experiences and sensations distilled into a curious, potent elixir, the use of which may in its truest sense be determined only by the individual listener. Ai Ma Ra, pressed in 1.000 copies, comes in a sturdy, deep green cardboard box stamped with the mark of Arktau Eos. Contained within is an 8-page booklet bound in tête-bêche format on high quality paper, a small talismanic print, and two CDs.. $18.75

Armon Kuili - S/T CDEP (Totuuden Sarvi Levyt: Totuu01)

The first release from Totuuden Sarvi Levyt is a piece of Finnish art destined to remain in the minds of those who hear it. The debut mini-album by Armon Kuilu is a funereal musical journey, two long progressive compositions built out mostly of classical piano, strings, orchestral drums, singing, prayers and invocations in male and female voices. More of a gothic work than a total assault on the senses, yet one must remember that the word gothic is often abused in connotation with just a melancholic form of new age entertainment music but here the soundscapes bring to mind images of forlorn cemetaries, initiatory cults, bloodletting, woodlands and altered states of consciousness. At times the melodies of chamber music break out into squeals, groans and crackling which haunt the space and resonate with the Finnish poetry, that most of the time reminds one of a satanic ceremony. Some passages sound familiar to the listeners of European avantgarde and progressive music such as Actus, Art Zoyd and releases from the label Athanor. Post-industrial fans should also listen to this work but remember that this is not your generic so-called occult album with the usual Crowley spoken parts. Instead this is a deeply personal work with challenging classical and sometimes jazz or progressive melodies composed by the master behind the project and performed by real musicians with authentic instruments and also utilizing real actors for the various voices and spoken parts. Believe me, you will hear the difference. The mini-album comes in a black & white sleeve with a full color 8-page art booklet (size 7x7"), built from nature-mystical imagery shot on infrared film. Recommended!!. $7.00

Asbaar - Corona Veli Aurel (Black Drone: BDRL007)

First formal release for this dark ambient side project of Marc Merinee of Eldar fame. 10 high quality tracks of enveloping drift and spooky atmospheres, complete with the requisite "straight from the crypt" reverb. At times, minimal and bleak, while other times, moving into a more early CMI industrial sound. In nice 6 panel digipak with booklet. Lmtd 480 copies.. $13.00

Asmorod - Hysope (Steinklang: SKD12)
Fourth album from Asmorod, though the first in over 5 years. Very nice, heavily atmospheric and pure dark ambience, with shadowy, reverb drenched sounds and washes of serene, tonal undercurrents. Finds that fine line between foreboding and beautiful. Niiko (now the only member of Asmorod) used the word Hysope (French word for Hyssop) as a symbol of spiritual purification. In ancient times, Hyssop was used for the cleansing of lepers (Leprosy may represent sin but lepers were not necessarily sinful) and used for cleaning sacred places. It is alluded to in the Scriptures: ´Purge me with Hyssop, and I shall be clean´ (Purify me from my sins, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow. Psalms 51:7).. $14.99

Aspectee - Morben (First Fallen Star: FFS003)

Debut of from Aspectee offering 9 atmospheric tracks mostly staying in the pure dark ambient vein, with some slightly rougher, experimental nuances sprinkled throughout. Either way, this has a very nice flow to it. Cold and solemn, yet still emotive.. $12.00

Ataraxia - Nosce Te Ipsum (Twilight Recordings: TWI.45)

Ataraxia is an Italian trio which occupies the fine-art end of the neo-gothic spectrum and produces a rich tapestry of music and song incorporating folk, mediaeval, renaissance, baroque, and classical elements. Re-issue of one of their earlier cassettes. $11.00

Ataraxia - Paris Spleen (Cold Meat Industry: CMI165)
ATARAXIA and Madame Bistouri presents a Folksy Horror Show from the early 19th century of Paris : a gloomy theatrical story based on the poetry of Baudelaire. This is the 'cabarets macabres' turned into music - a ghostly cabaret with sounds from Boulevard de Clichy - a theatrical dimension where the dramatic music of Ataraxia is more suitable than ever, in a nocturnal event filled with a ghostlike gothic and grotesque representation of life from the past brought to life with the sound of bandoneons, musettes, trombones, violins, tom-toms and cymbals plus the dramatic and guttural voice of Francesca. With 20 years of history, Ataraxia are more of an institution in the medieval, neoclassical -folk traditions, here following the proud Italian tradition of great spectacular shows.. $14.00

Atomine Elektrine - Archimetrical Universe (Eternal Pride: EPP015)

Re-issue/remixed version of 1996's Archimetrical Universe (Yantra Atmopheres) + bonus tracks from extra limited CDr boxed version of the album Nebulous. Archimetrical Universe showcases Peter Andersson (Raison d'Etre, Stratvm Terror) dissection of the sky, a Caesarean section that births massive, geometrically perfect sonic diversions, all spheres and angles, burnished metal dreams and pristine sonic caresses that reconfigure sound into smooth surfaces. To counterbalance the exactness of the sonic development, light rhythms emerge, huge slabs of disrupting tones puncture, the scattered remnants of all of Peter’s projects utilized in the creation of the music here. Everything seems to be in perpetual motion, evolving, revolving, reinvented at the mercy of Peter’s deft hands and devious whim. The clarity of production and meticulous restructuring of the known (space, stars, planets) with the unknown (space...stars...planets...) only heightens the journey upon which he guides us, an alluring venture into the cavernous realm of space...but not a space most of us would imagine. Whether he is sonically scrubbing the architecture, or just mesmerizing us with another sound sculpture at the edge of forever, Archimetrical Universe is, quite possibly, one of Peter’s finest releases, which says a lot because his sonic portfolio runneth over with intoxicating, mind-altering sound manipulations that inspire one’s imagination with conflicting emotional responses (sorrow, desolation, awe, wonder) at all times.. $12.66

Atomine Elektrine - Nebulous (Essence Music: ESS007)

On this second installment for Essence Music, Peter Andersson brings ATOMINE ELEKTRINE to an utterly refined and perfectionist sphere! The trancey beats and sacral atmosphere of Binomial Fusion are past and widely replaced by a truly out-of-body, deeply layered and dynamic cosmic experience in form of a masterful ambience filled with energy outbursts, synthetic movements and algorithmical rhythms. An aural projection for a detailed exploration of nebulas, black holes, exploding stars and unknown deep corners of the cosmos.Very much influenced by the electronic side of the kraut scene and with the ability of imposing his very own classic trademark, Andersson sets a new stone and makes Nebulous one of the greatest albums related to this genre since the early 70’s. Another amazing proof of talent from this Swedish genius!Presented in an snowy white gatefold digisleeve and tracing paper packaging.. $14.33

Atomtrakt - Sperrstelle Nordost Enhanced CD (Steinklang: SK052)

Two years after the highly acclaimed "Nuklearchetyp" album the mighty Atomtrakt are finally back with a new release entitled "Sperrstelle Nordost". This new opus sets new standards in the Apocalyptic / Martial Industrial scene: Words like 'bombastic', 'martial', 'heroic' or 'militant' definitely need to be re-defined. The atmosphere of "Sperrstelle Nordost" is threatening and cold. It leads the listener back to times of war and truly hits like an atomic bomb. "Sperrstelle Nordost" deals with the situation of Switzerland in the 2nd world war / cold war - "Sperrstell Nordost" is an area in Switzerland which was of national importance for the entire country during times of war. The lyrics deal with fears, death, decay and ambiguity. The album features a superb video clip for 'Trauermarsch'. 6-panel digipak. File next to Kreuzweg Ost or Triarii.. $14.99

Atrabilis Sunrise - Pillgrimage (Raubbau: Raub009)

Atrabilis Sunrise is the ongoing project of sound manipulator / destroyer Padre P.C., who also happens to be the tyranic boss of P.C.M. Few years ago our beloved Padre was producing dark industrial releases under the name "Catharsis". Some would try to categorize Atrabilis Sunrise as bizarre, disturbing & unsettling electronica, from quietness to violent insanity, from ethereal atmospheres to spasms of pure psychotic noise. Paranoid, demented voices, abusive fried circuitry, lonely music box (obviously injured) melodies, twisted pop sensibilities, confusing atmospheres, distorted alien pathology, corroded beauty, brittle fragility & tortured doom... Atrabilis Sunrise is steeped in images of a starkly contrasting world, capturing sounds of madness and glorious insanity. An utterly weird, excruciatingly harrowing musical experience.. $14.99

Atrium Carceri - Phrenitis (Cold Meat Industry: CMI203)

'Phrenitis' takes the listener to a twisted place where the walls between worlds are razed. The ruinous cities of wars long past, where time itself is but a prisoner and the warlords roaming their purgatorial halls are free to destroy the very foundations of the natural order.'Phrenitis' is the 6th album of Atrium Carceri and is yet another step of the ever increasing Atrium Carceri wake up call. Simon Heath shows himself and the world, yet again, that no man is ever truly the master of their art unless they strive to evolve with it. The soundscapes he has created bypass the conscious mind, taking the listener deep into his pristine nightmare. The evolution of sound is spot-on and sets Atrium Carceri apart from other lazy dark ambient acts by being a truly diverse piece, replete with details upon details to make the illusion complete, and haunting compositions to make the mind yearn.. $14.33

Atrium Carceri - Ptahil (Cold Meat Industry: CMI168)

The fourth album from composer Simon Heath (see also Za Frûmi) as Atrium Carceri sees him reinventing the genre as well as himself with a unique ambience created from his ever-increasingly complex and obscure techniques of mental dissolution and musical innovation; brooding soundscapes and flowing 'cinematic isolationism' textures that are evocatively atmospheric and relentlessly bleak.. $14.66

Attrition - All Mine Enemys Whispers (Projekt: Projekt209)

A surreal nightmareish journey into the mind of a Victorian serial killer from this darkAmbient pioneer. Mary Ann Cotton was Britain's greatest female mass murderer. Poisoning upwards of 20 of her own children and partenrs with arsenic. She was arrested, tried and hanged in 1873. Attrition's Martin Bowes is a descendant of the arresting officer, Police Sergeant Tom McCutcheon. Completed on Oct. 31, 2007, this is no ordinary Halloween album; Mary Ann Cotton's story (augmented by the real-life connection between the album's composer and the killer herself) will do a much better job keeping you up at night than any slasher film killer or long-haired Japanese ghost child. The music is a haunting brew of electronic soundscapes, neo-classical strings, and eerie children's voices. Shuffling sounds, anxiously scraped strings and electronic drones create the mood, while ex-Courtney Love band violinist Emilie Autumn conjures up a momentary sense of pity for the condemned killer with her sorrowful vocal rendition on the album's climax, a submersive darkAmbient gem which incorporates the hymn "Rock of Ages." As subtly chilling a thing as you'll ever hear. If you're brave, you can listen to All mine enemys whispers in the dark, but you might want to pull the covers over your head just to be on the safe side." - REGEN magazine, USA. $7.00

Atum - Legendy Miejskie (Beast of Prey: BOP6.7)

New release from this Polish project based around field recordings done near the artists home, in an attempt flesh out the hidden aspects of what surrounds us in our daily environment. Field recordings usually bore me to tears, but this is definitely a notch above the norm - typically starting subtle and nuanced, then growing into something much larger and louder in scope. Powerful factory drones share space with distant whispers, clangs, natural ambience, and unrecognizable acoustic instrumentation.. $12.77
