Abjection Ritual - S/T CDr ( Self-released: AR01)
One of those few and far between releases that within the first minute, you know you've tapped into something great. John Stillings of Steel Hook turned me onto this project, which should tell you something 1) because he's demented and has exquisite taste 2) and he knows I do too.
Stylistically, we're talking pure death industrial here, falling somewhere between Nyodene D and Gnawed - impossibly bleak and nihilistic to the core, populated by cold frequency shudders and mechanized aggression that's sometimes atmospheric and ominous, and other times more violent and tension filled . Either way, this can be slow and deliberate in the best way possible, with a firm grasp on composition and pacing skills, the vocals high in the mix and coming in at just the right times and delivered in a similar fashion to Slogun. This is the self released debut, and the crazy thing is, the newer stuff I heard (that John Stillings mastered) is even better, as unimaginable as that may seem when you hear this. Comparisons are made as a reference point, but truth be told, this stands perfectly well on its own, and represents some fresh new blood on the scene that's sure to rise fast. A must.. $6.00

Aeldaborn - The Cosmic Trident ( Lichterklang: LK021)
"The Cosmic Trident“ is the second album of AELDABORN, consequently following the path of their debut „Fountain Of Darkened Fires“. Now consisting of Thomas Lückewerth, Philomela, Sepp Funkel, S. Dante and Axel Burgard AELDABORN celebrates old ancient myths by the poignant use of martial influenced Dark Folk and Ritual music which leads the listener to Viking Kings („Hakonarmal“), the finnish Kalevala („Vainamoinen“), the mountain tops of the Hindu goddess Shiva („The Cosmic Trident“), the funeral rites of the tibetian Bön („Mound Of Bones“) or to the hidden doctrine of the Qlipoth („Satariel“). In addition to the diverse vocals of the band guest performances by Frater Eremor (“Im Kraftstrom des Satan-Set“) and Asenath Mason (Foundress of „Temple Of The Ascending Flame“) put even more emphasis on the mythical and spiritual direction of the album. The sound is characterized by guitars, violin and drums in combination with the passionate lyrics, changing between melancholy, heros and aggression. The album will be released with exclusive paintings of the finnish artist Veera Pitkänen in an elaborate digipak and bookle. $11.00

Alo Girl - Bangkok LP ( Urashima: UMA073)
‘'Balanced dynamic monotony with subtle nuances and layered sound production. Clear and detailed constructions in an oblique and dense environment halting to the breaking point of suffocation. Near static insistent walls and compositions where audio shreds, erupts, buries, tense, hammers and feedback. In-your-face abrasive tracks with voiding atmosphere. Focus on panning of left/mid/right channels. Heavy use of mid-to-low end frequencies. Spoken word material consists of honest conversations from Bangkok girls and their johns. No judgmental angle on individuals participating. Material is presented as an artist's objective report and possible obsession on phenomena. Alo Girl delivers to the full with “Bangkok”. A sad, vicious but compassionate window into a world that for most of us is alien and unfathomable. A seldom good HNW/harsh noise album that stands on its own premiss, and conveys its theme and musical content without any cliches. Highly recommended! Material can withstand several broadcasts.'' Notes from Tor Navjord (Where Frost Reign)

Arktau Eos - Scorpion Milk ( Aural Hypnox: AHSM07)
Scorpion Milkby Arktau Eos, a work that was originally released in June 2006 is re-released through our Stellar Mansion series.'Scorpion Milk' consists of a single album length track, which is best apprehended in a meditative state with minimum outside interference. It is a shadowy companion of the 'Mirrorion' album, the candle-bearer who responds to no call but silence itself. The music can be likened to a dark well, the oily surface of which not only reflects the phantasms of mind recalled through participation in the "Mirrorion" cycle, but is occasionally broken by scorpionic surges of primal Power invigorating the act of contemplation.Performed and mixed live by using mainly obscure electronica on a reel tape, it is the antithesis of the sterile, lifeless sound and attitude of our times; a connoisseur's choice that stands alone despite its undercurrents flowing from the heart of 'Mirrorion'.The album is enclosed inside a newly designed cardboard covers including a 8-panel booklet and a silk-screen printed insert card. Limited to 500 copies.. $14.50

Atrax Morgue - Collection In Formaldeide LP ( Urashima: UMA080)
n 1994 the activity of the Slaughter Productions becomes more and more frantic, releasing countless tapes. In the same year, leaving four important works of Atrax Morgue on cassette, the first of which is ‘’Collection In Formaldeide’’. The tape, limited to only thirty copies, is accompanied by a syringe needle attached with scotch, signifying that this music would be ‘’an injection of death’’. All this is packaged in a transparent box for VHS, containing a pair of white latex gloves, two postcard size flyer and an A4 sheet folded to form a mini fanzine entitled ‘’Aseptic Vision’’: a proliferation of images of dead bodies similar to each other . The sound of ‘’Collection In Formaldeide’’ is simply devastating. Crosses terrifying rooms lit by neon lights, corridors filled with gruesome tools, machines of blood and bits of human tissue floating in jars of formalin. The hum of the synth, the roar of noise and fights razor are often repeated loops, where each track has a compact structure, following the main theme (of death). It is fascinating that so modest means can create an atmosphere so crowds. A soundtrack for sick minds!
The record has been pressed on 140 gr black vinyl with black label and black inner sleeve and comes with back silver silkscreen logo on black cardboard sleeve and black ink on black cardboard (original tape) artwork paste on front. Also include all inserts and objects from original release limited in 30 copies: mini fanzine Aseptic Vision, postcard (only one - not two!), two white latex gloves and syringe needle. Black Leather Jesus/Blue Sabbath Black Cheer - Split LP ( Urashima: UMA72)
For over 20 years Black Leather Jesus has been there, watching, waiting, playing in small, poorly-lit rooms. Founded by Richard Ramirez in 1989, everything they do is harsh, chaotic, and completely unlistenable to the sane mind. Ramirez was inspired by the gay S&M scene to create something that will haunt the hallowed halls of your soul. Seattle's incredibly prolific doom metal outfit Blue Sabbath Black Cheer, consisting primarily of members Stan Reed and wm.Rage, have released a slew of Lp,7-inches, splits, CD-Rs, and cassettes, collaborating and conspiring with peers in their community to generate one of the more viciously enviable catalogues of sound-vomit, death, and hatred to ever be thrown against the monolithic brick wall of noise. This release consist of one side with a long new track of each band and the other side with a terrific collaboration track. Black Moon Halo - Shadow Rituals for Black Druids CDr ( Occult Supremacy: OSP043)
Little known project of Larry Kerr of Steel Hook Prostheses. Brethren - Alienated & Radicalized CS ( Freak Animal: FreakCS69)
Tape re-issue of 2012's Alienated & Radicalized. Brethren has firmly proven to be one of the genre's most striking forces. Gathering both fanatic glorification and hostile opposition with his honest and to-the-point political message, 2005's "Savage Inequalities" finally has a follow-up full-length. "Alienated and Radicalized" delivers guaranteed Brethren. A solid 40-minute album with song after song of memorable and striking assaults. Each track consists of carefully constructed noise loops, rhythms, throbbing synthesizers, spoken word samples and trademark hyper- aggressive vocals. Well-structured and song-like assaults make each individual song stand strong. No song is clouded with muddiness and instead, each is sharp and clear, with noisy, ripping power. Vocals spit the words with clear articulation and each sound element is heard in its full energy. Nothing in this album is particularly vulgar or offensive. The message, language and artwork doesn't attempt to offend the enemy with tasteless provocations, but simply manifests the conviction and life mission of Brethren.Chrome tapes, including 20 pages full color booklet with all lyrics.. $10.66

"The Key" is a psychic voyage in eight parts, each one referencing dates, places or events which have been pivotal in Mme Blavatsky life and spiritual journey. Cazzokraft - Integrity of the Preconcious System ( Old Europa Café: OECD191)
Conceived between Saitama and Berlin, this album is a collaboration between Japanese junk metal noise-master Masahiko Okubo (Linekraft) and Italian rhythmic heavy electronics pioneer P/S (Cazzodio / Naxal Protocol). A bludgeoning combination of the analogue pulsations of vintage Italian power electronics, the furious overdriven metal percussion Linekraft is renowned for, and the trademark mechanical saturated electronics of Cazzodio, assembled with the earsplitting esthetics of Japanese noise. Featuring American death industrial wunderkind The Vomit Arsonist, who contributes vocals on one track. Cisfinitum - O vs 0 ( Old Captain: OCCD07)
The debut album by charismatic Eugeny Voronovsky and his enigmatic project Cisfinitum "O vs 0" is re-released on CD after 15 years of its cryptic lurking in the dark. True minimal post industrial analogue sound. Recorded circa 1998, this is a unique archival work - a lunatic and lo-fi album with a distinct industrial aftertaste. It is kept unremastered and its pristine condition hints at obvious hisses, noises, clicks, abrupt frequency amplifications and sporadic channel drops. Approach the record with caution, play it not too loud to reveal its morbid charm, which is extreme simplicity that hurts. For the lovers of Archon Satani and No Festival of Light. Cody Drasser - Lugubrium Encumbrium CS ( Peacock Window Recordings: PCWC01)
Cody Drasser's second solo album, 'Lugubrium Encumbrium' will soon be available once again in both cassette/digital formats. Some of you may recall that this cassette was available late last year through the efforts of the Gilded Peradam label. Peacock Window Recordings is now reissuing the album with all new artwork and a new mastering job along with 4 new songs. Some songs which appeared on the first version of the cassette have been renamed for greater cohesion of the album's themes of ghosts, the paranormal, graveyards, tortured spirits and what might await us beyond the earthly realm. A much vastly different creature than Cody's first solo outing, 'The Fate of Things,' this album takes a minimal approach to emphasize the eerie, shadowy and spectral nature of the sounds. Being comprised of material recorded onto abandoned cassette over 10 years ago, Cody unearthed the cassettes from their hiding place and found that many of the tapes were suffering from varying degrees of deterioration. Not seeing this as an obstacle, Cody delved deeply into the music as it was, using the deterioration as a natural part of the album's feel. 'Lugubrium Encumbrium' has an aura of unearthly mystery that at times feels creepy and ominous, and at other times feels peaceful and comforting.. $6.50

Coil/Nine Inch Nails - Recoil LP ( Cold Spring: CSR193LP)
“Recoiled” is a rambunctious alchemy, of magikal Coil sensibilities and hi-tech home circa 90’s mixing technique, all fused in the cave-like early studios of Danny Hyde / Peter Christopherson. These were the unrestrained PRE- BIG studio- mix downs, of four songs which long time Coil admirer / collaborator Trent Reznor requested Coil to remix. Reznor sent over the original multi-tracks and DATs to Hyde / Christopherson, who independently mixed versions and then met to synch both creations, molding them into these master versions. ”Recoiled” includes a fuller, more opulent version of the track ‘Closer’, which eventually made it onto the opening credits to the movie “SE7EN“. These 5 lengthy compositions (just under 40 minutes) are pre-Ableton / laptop generation type priest song creations, with the use of baby alarms and numerous wires to create bespoke effects. These legendary tracks were always rumoured to exist and, only the due diligence of a dedicated NIN forum who hunted them down, are released/unleashed for your listening pleasure. 4 of the tracks were released on the download-only “Uncoiled”. A bonus, previously unheard track from the same sessions closes the album. Jhonn Balance is also manifest on this gilded constellation. Beautifully remastered. Desiderii Marginis - Thaw ( Zoharum: Zohar073-2)
Of the Swedish wave of ambient acts from the 1990s, Desiderii Marginis is one of the few still active and definitely one of the finest of those few. Far from being a typical project in the vein of Brian Eno/Lustmord, Johan Levin, the mastermind behind Desiderii Marginis, has created and developed its own unique sonic palette merging digital and analogue: melancholic electronica with electroacoustic elements and intravenous rhythms. From the early days his music met with positive reactions resulting in albums on renowned the legendary Swedish Cold Meat Industry label, and lately also on Canadian Cyclic Law.
Over the course of 20 years, Levin released 7 full-length albums, a 3-way split and a collection of rare pre-debut demos plus numerous tracks on various compilations. His latest offering entitled "Thaw" compiles the latter and adds 3 tracks from the split "Lost Signals from Unknown Horizons". On the one hand, it is simply a collection of rare tracks, but, on the other, it may serve a purpose of a "best of" album. With the chronology unaltered, it gives you the full picture of the project and its progress. It is a history lesson of the last 20 years in sonic melancholia of Desiderii Marginis.. $12.66

Dissecting Table/Sektor 304 - Utopia/Decay LP ( Malignant: TumorLP80)
A follow up to 2012’s split CDr on UPD Organization brings these projects together once again, this time for a limited split 12”. Dissecting Table (aka Ichiro Tsuji) is one of the most iconic names in the history of industrial music, and has been pushing the envelope in extreme music as far back as 1986. Early material was completely groundbreaking… over the top, maniacal drumming, dirty bass, and guttural vocals that was like grindcore meeting death industrial before either term even existed. Their influence was undeniable, and can still be felt today, even as recently as Sektor 304’s previous release, the “Engage…Forward” 7”. Newer Dissecting Table material has moved into a more psychedelic, fully chromatic and glitched out area, but the tracks here bridge the gap between the two eras, mixing a veritable mine field of percussion and metal bashing with spastic electronic mis-wirings and crazed oscillations. For those unfamiliar with Ichiro’s work, this is a great introduction.
The flip side gives us perhaps the most perfect collection of Sektor 304 material to date…4 tracks flowing together and carefully sculpted into a sprawling and epic display, encompassing all aspects of the their sound; pummeling sheets of tribalized junk metal percussion in the early part, to desolate decay and pure apocalyptic dystopia in the mid-section, where radioactive transmissions intersect low slung bass, and the infected vocals of Martin Bladh (IRM/Skin Area). The final piece, Power and Strength, is one of most ominous and oppressive tracks they've ever done…a slow, shambling dirge of looping, mechanized percussion, industrial drone and resonating steel mill din with an almost Karjalan Sissit style rigidity. It’s a monster of a track and the perfect closing statement from a band that continues to grow and mature into something truly astounding.
Lmtd to 200 copies, this is a must for all appreciators of the tried and true old school sound.. $18.00

Electric Sewer Age (Coil) - Bad White Corpsucle ( Old Europa Café: OECD190)
Electric sewer age was originally conceived in 2006 by John Deek (founder of the Divine Frequency label), with the original idea for like minded souls, particularly among the Coil fraternity, too compose music which would be released with no credits to the creators. This would allow the listener to listen, and not have a preconceived bias, as to which song they liked best, based on their favorite composer etc.
Danny Hyde continues his fantastical journey in sound with this second release under the ESA name and completely moves beyond expectations. Disproving the doubters, this EP is pretty much just him in his studio wrenching new creations out of his equipment; the trainspotters amongst us will no doubt pick out some of the shards he pulls from his past. But he doesn't make them the focus of what is going on here, they are there merely to accent, to add a bit of depth and help illuminate how many years he's been at this.
Through the usage of heavily processed vocals and arcane terrestrial instrumentation, Hyde lives up to his reputation for creating amazingly detailed yet extremely dark electronic compositions. The symbiosis of organic and synthetic influences would be his forte and he's not holding anything back this time out, believe me, there's a feel to what is on here that isn't easily conceived. To just sit down and begin knocking out what 'Bad White Corpuscle' contains I don't think could be done unless you had planned and plotted out every last possible contingency down to the millisecond.. $18.00

En Nihil/Procession of the Black Sloth - Mask of the Predator, Mask of the Prey C60 ( Whispering Eye: WE07)
The reality you know could change at any moment. What you once knew will never come back beyond this point. In the blink of an eye, an existence of serenity and normality can change into a horrific, living nightmare. You are now just prey at the mercy of a predator…
En Nihil delivers some of his most intense, foreboding sounds yet with this split’s material. Overpowering low-end rumblings, rapid blasts of static and eerie vocalizations set the tone for this sonic chamber of suffering.
Procession of the Black Sloth creates a rather unsettling atmosphere with deranged vocals, grating orchestral tones and dense layers of piercing electronics and psychoacoustics. A dreadful audio account of an ill-fated encounter with a truly demented mind…. $7.50

Fahl - The Halls of the Dead ( Lichterklang: LK023)
FAHL was founded by Dimo Dimov, Marcel P. and Cornelius Waldner in autumn 2008. All members have been active in several Dark Folk, Neoclassic and Black Metal–projects for some time, among them :werra:, Von Thronstahl, Allerseelen, Sagittarius, Miel Noir or Svarrogh (just to name a few.) Four years after their debut „Paths To Emptiness“, Fahl’s second album „The Halls OF The Dead“ is not just a compendium of songs lyrically influenced by the „Mahabarata“, Stefan George, Ludwig Fahrenkrog, Carlo Michelstaedter and Hermann Graf Keyserling, but musicalwise the consequent continuation of what has been started four years ago. „The Halls Of The Dead“ is a dark opus of 13 occult ambient tracks that’ll haunt the listeners by it’s lyrical and musical depth and sincerity. „The Halls Of The Dead“ for sure is not an album for the fainthearted listener.
The artwork fort he album was done by well-known foto-artist Laetitia Mantis, being a long time friend with the band and it’s members, putting even more emphasis on the occult character of Fahl.. $11.50

Gnawed - Feign and Cloak ( Malignant: TumorCD79)
Active since 2009, Minneapolis based Grant Richardson has solidified a reputation for creating a strain of death industrial and power electronics that’s particularly ferocious, visceral, and just insanely heavy. Alongside Nyodene D, The Vomit Arsonist, and Steel Hook Prostheses, Gnawed represents an act at the forefront of a genre, whose music is built on a European foundation, but is sculpted and heightened with American aggression and intensity. Despite numerous cassettes, splits, and compilation appearances, Feign and Cloak is just Gnawed’s second full length CD following 2012’s masterful Terminal Epoch (Phage Tapes), and sees Richardson continuing down a similar path, only having tightened the reigns, sharpened his focus, and honed his skills. Few artists are as adept or as capable at building tension and atmosphere as Gnawed, then releasing it in an onslaught of deep barreled percussion, pneumatic reverberations, scrap metal debris, and turbine fueled drones, the processed vocals resonating and slicing through the mix with force and rigor, the end result a perfect marriage of controlled chaos and structured composition. A modern masterpiece of true industrial music. In 6 panel digipak with matte finish. Artwork by Brian Vander Pol.. $10.66

Goodbye Cruel World - Bury Me In A Hole In the Ground 2xC11 ( Existest: EEXIX)
Call it cybergrind, digital hardcore, or power electronics Matt Serven of Goodbye Cruel World isn’t hindered by genre boundaries or labels. The only essential elements to the sounds of Goodbye Cruel World is that it’s hard fast and totally unrepentant. Recorded in the early 2000s but never officially released Bury Me in A Hole in the Ground is a document of a hardcore kid with a weird streak and a whole lotta anger. Serven is a casualty of heavy music in New England as he is also an integral part of the hardcore mythmakers Backstabbers Inc. and sludge mongers Ode.
Bury Me in A Hole in the Ground documents two full albums by the project in a double cassette case with full color artwork and lyrics. Each release also comes with a download card whether you want it or not.. $8.77

Grunt - Archive: 90's Tapes 10xCD Boxset ( Freak Animal: GruntA90)
5 double CD digifiles, each including information insert & scans of original tape artworks. Roughly 700 minutes of playtime, includes lots of rarities and also completely unreleased songs recorded between 1993-1999. Also included in box is 52 page booklet that includes report of GRUNT activities 1993-2013. General history, discography with liner notes from all releases, live action list and photos. This is LIMITED EDITION BOX ! In future all 5 discs will be available separately for those who don't like boxes or prefer to pick some particular era of Grunt. What more to say? In respect for the spirit of Grunt in 90's, there is no damaging editing.Songs appear pretty much as they were on tapes, including all the dynamics, all the potential flaws of decades old masters. Same goes for artwork and design. Apart from neat box and stylish silk-screened digifiles, it is all the well known directionless youthful enthusiasm. To catch the spirit of those days, despite real factory pressed CD's, each box has been personally assembled together. Each cover silkscreened and copies assembled. Everything has very involved & self made feel, just like sound of the release. While many may know Grunt 90's works from already done re-issues like Europe After Storm", "Someone Is Watching", "Terror & Degeneration" or such, this box set exposes the high diversity of material. In finest tradition of those days - box is simply FILLED. Semi-chronological order, pretty much everything what has not appeared on CD or vinyl before. Only selection (=leaving material out) was done in very earliest material from'93/94, which would have been pointless to publish entirely.
More could be written about personal importance of many tracks and releases, but one finds plenty of that text in booklet. Also I could underline how impossible vast majority of releases is to find. Some releases are not even listed in popular market places such as discogs and may have been manufactured merely couple dozen copies back in the day. There are plenty of tracks what theoretically should have been part of some much more well known release, but wasn't. Spontaneous and unplanned nature of early works resulted that many songs that would have created perfect album, were scattered to different releases and compilations. While listening this material for couple of years now, I'm convinced some of the materials are actually among very best what Grunt has ever recorded! This was among reasons why with seemingly modern & complex "World Draped..." album Grunt returned to use some of the same methods &equipment as in 1993-1997!. $105.00

Habsyll - MMVIII ( tUMULt: Atwar041)
First full length record from French ultra-mega-abstract-doom trio Habsyll, which just so happens to feature one member of the mighty Fantastikol Hole, as well as the former drummer of faerical punk blasters Nuit Noire!
Nothing, and we mean nothing will prepare you for Habsyll's particularly virulent strain of ultradoom. Heavy and slow, yeah obviously, but it's HOW heavy (very) and HOW slow (ummm, so slow the songs seem to have almost zero forward momentum) that makes Habsyll something much more than a metal band or a doom band, it's almost like twentieth century classical played with downtuned guitars and massive drums. So much space, the notes and drum beats miles apart, the drums not so much beats and rhythms (although those do pop up occasionally) as brief explosions or percussive squalls, more for dynamics and texture, or if they are actually engaged in some sort of actual beat, it's mind bendingly abstract and extended and slow to the point of hovering around 2 or 3 bpm. Think Khanate, Monarch, Moss, Bunkur, Fleshpress? You're already thinking too fast, too structured, too riffy. This is some excessive extremist radical dooooooooom, the sort of chug and plod and buzz and bombinate that makes the rest of those bands sound like speed metal.
But in this slow sprawl, and these long stretches of decay, these sudden flurries of drum splatter and downtuned chug, there is a buried beauty, occasionally, these disparate parts mesh into a brief flicker of melody, or a single epic majestic hook filled swell, before slipping back into blackness. And once or twice the band ramps it up, and locks into some serious pounding crushing black hole sludge, but even then, it's a crawl, a glacial black ooze tempo, and before too long, the band abandon any sense of rhythm or tempo, opting instead to drift through some wide open stretch of outerspace ultra doom emptiness.
The guitars go from grinding and sharp, to muddy and massive, the chugs flung into the ether and carried along on streaks of whirring hiss and blackened buzz, spitting out huge jagged shards of feedback, and long smears of blurred anti-riffage, the bass is a massive cloud of low end, throbbing and pulsing, exploding like a brick wall to the side of the head before slipping back into a shadowy rumble, the vocals a caustic demonic shriek, raspy and hellish, slipping into an almost hysterical falsetto, and just as often offering up some alien ululations, and the drums, oh the drums, any drummer can tell you how hard it is to play slow, but they're talking slowcore slow, or even regular doom slow, this is something else entirely, this is doom drumming gone free jazz, pound and skitter in equal measure, meting out beats one at a time, like some sleek black submarine releasing depth charges.
Two lengthy epics, 17 minutes and nearly 29 minutes, neither very traditionally doomlike, but both most definitely doom, maybe more 'doom', than most actual doom we've heard. Like staring into the abyss, or looking up at a black moonless night sky, these sounds are the sounds of emptiness, of bottomless depths, of never ending expanses of space and time, the end of the world, the birth of new universes, the sound of black holes, of exploding stars, the soundtrack to the end of the world, to the end of everything. Slow and heavy and low and spaced out and damaged and fucked up and strangely beautiful and mysterious and abstract and far out and completely kick ass while remaining very very very difficult listening indeed!. $9.00

Halo Manash - Se Its En ( Aural Hypnox: AHB08)
Se Its En is the first official release of Halo Manash and was originally released in an edition of 100 copies by Finnish underground record label Blue Sector in 2003. After a long period of unavailability the album is now re-released through the Stellar Mansion series.
The quintessential tunes for the tracks were received from in seven specific dreams and captured on tape during the following morning under the guidance of awakened subconscious forces. The album as a whole, however, should not be considered only as a self-centered work or a mere outcome of lucid dreaming sessions of the personnel involved; Se Its En serves as a continually living and assisting metaphysical implement that guides and enlightens travel in The Great Elemental Current. The seven surrealistic tracks were composed by using manipulated bowed string instruments, percussions, analogue synthesizer, human and inhuman vocalisations & other surreal recordings. Se Its En is the key to the gate leading to Sacral Meeting with Halo Manash.
The album is enclosed in a customised and silk-screen printed Stellar Mansion cardboard covers including an 8-panel black on black printed booklet and a silk-screen printed insert card. The regular edition is limited to 468 copies.. $14.66

Hybyrds - Music For Rituals 2CD ( Zoharum: Zohar0592)
Extended reissue of Hybryds' classic and seminal 1992 album (previously on Artware). Ethnic, pre-industrial and contemporary influences are blended to create a unique style that has influenced many who were looking for spiritual dimensions. In “Music for rituals” the pure magical sound of Hybryds became reality, a struggle between female and male energies gave birth to one of the most original releases in the magical music scene. The bonus 'Rarities And Unreleased' disc contains 5 tracks from 1983-1988, including "Girl Hunter" - originally a strange S&M video from Japan. Magthea mixed the voices of this movie on recordings of koto and some cello pieces from Yasnaia to create a fantasy world; soft meditative music with exotic Japanese voices telling weird stuff about life, sex, pain, lust and death. The track disappeared, unused in Magthea's archives, and was specially remixed from the original 4-track cassette for this CD. Ltd x 500 copies in a 6-panel double-digipak.

‘The Cadaver Pulse II’, running over 60 minutes is an ethereal, bright and dreamlike sequel to the oozy ‘TCP I’. The six helical compositions bring forth a unique analogue and organic atmosphere. Most of the material on this album was received, composed and recorded during intense three-day live sessions held in the Blue Vortex in March 2003 by using analogue synthesizers, samplers, human voice and a selection of wind and bowed instruments. I.corax - The Cadaver Pulse I: Sealed in a Radiant Larval Maelstrom ( Aural Hypnox: AHSM02)
The long-awaited re-issue of the first official release of I.corax, a duo formed by AIH and JKV in the late 1998. The album was originally released in an edition of 80 copies through the groups own label, Blue Sector in 2003.
‘The Cadaver Pulse I’ consists of over 70 minutes of very original ambient music that is continuously evolving and challenging. The six states of the album weave a potent radiant web that encapsulates the original, subliminal oneiric visions. The sonic tapestries have been produced mainly from heavily processed natural sound sources such as animals, various field recordings, human voice, wind and bowed instruments that culminate in a work that is archaic and dark, multilayered and harsh. All material was received, composed and mixed during long and intensive recording sessions held in the Blue Vortex, duo’s studio-temple at the time, between December 2002 and February 2003.
The album is enclosed inside a newly designed and silk-screen printed cardboard covers including six offset printed insert cards and a four panel booklet. Limited to 500 copies.. $14.50

Illusion of Safety - Surrender CS ( No Part Of It: NPOI01)
"Illusion of Safety, just passing its 30th year since inception, is often regarded as the innovator of "ambient industrial". Despite having traversed nearly every arena of the experimental milieu, performed prestigious fests all over the world, and collaborated with some of widest ranging and heaviest hitting of the avante garde, core member/founder Daniel Burke has both shown a return to form and a veritable bouquet of new frontiers in his most recent outing, "Surrender". In just under 60 minutes, the listener is taken on a dizzying carousel ride where everything but the kitchen sink is employed to weave a deeply personal (abstract, wordless) narrative that comes off as minimalistic, condensed, and bombastic. But at the same time, it is a constantly shifting, complex and ornate grid iron amalgam of genuine enthusiasm and horror. Recommended if you like a complete disregard for the myopic trappings and short sighted formulae of contemporary sound art today. ". $6.50

Inade - Audio Mythology Two CD ( LOKI: LOKI60)
The soul of Eternity has a voice. It has a smile that radiates dreams of ancient origin. Its yawn is vast and perilous: to view it is to sacrifice sanity. Infinite eons have passed through its throat, sometimes latticed with tectonic cosmic rumbles, sometimes threaded with dissonant whispers of devious design. It is a place where Desolation strangles Hope with withered fingers. The soul of Eternity has a voice. It is pure sound convulsion; it is harsh sound vibration. It speaks through Inade. Though its playground is beyond conception, where space and beyond space merge, the foundation for translation is cultivated here, on Earth, by the Masters of Dark Ambient, Inade. Audio Mythology II collects more loose strands and bleak, back-alley diversions, and gives them life. This is the breath of lost souls as they sigh, of shadows as they break into song, of unimaginable gods as they murmur and scheme.
The saga of Sonic Pioneers continues with the second part of the collection from the archive of Inade´s sound work. This release focuses on re-structured session material (1997-2011), V.A. compilation tracks (2006-2009, partly re-worked) and finalized studio recordings of live backing tracks (2012-2013).
The regular and unlimited CD-edition comes in jewel case and 12-pg booklet.Mastered by Andreas Wahnmann/SECRETLAB.

IRM - Closure ( Malignant: TumorCD82)
This album marks the end of a trilogy that started with the ”Indications of Nigredo” 12” (2008) on Segerhuva and continued with the ”Order4” CD (2010) on Cold Meat Industry. Four years on, IRM now release the grand finale on Malignant Records. While the last album flowed between opposites and extremes, this new opus marks a kind of a return to more familiar ground, where traditional song structure and melody occasionally appear and are more suited to the shorter track timing. That’s not to say that this is an easy listen – this can be an electrifying and highly charged listen, that feels visceral and almost physical in nature, and there’s plenty of nightmarish circumstance to wade through. But the omnipresent narrative feel ultimately gives these recordings a nuanced and soothing edge. People familiar with subjects associated with IRM, such as flamboyance, exclusion and theatrical immersion will also find a home here this time around. Harder to grasp is what kind of existentialist limbo the perpetrator here resides in. Redemption - not likely. The album also features the stellar performances of English cellist Jo Quail and Swedish percussionist Ulrik Nilsson. Includes 20 page booklet."

Isolator - Culture and Principal of Anti-Human Exaltation ( Black Plagve: Infect15)
There’s dark, and then there’s what Isolator create – an abyssal black hole fashioned from pure negativity and concentrated misanthropy, the sounds unraveling like a time lapse film of slow decay and rot, where cascading, shapeless drones meet charred orchestral swells, disembodied voices, ritual undertones, and crushing, blown out disharmonics, all slathered and smeared into a mass of roiling darkness . This is harrowing and bleak to an endless degree and takes desolation and hopelessness to new levels. Featuring members of Father Befouled/Encoffination and Set, the 5 extended tracks signify a vital new entry into the “black noise” genre and fits comfortably amidst its Black Plague brethren DEATHSTENCH, T.O.M.B., and Hypsiphrone, and will also find appeal for those who appreciate the dark drift of early Yen Pox. Last Dominion Lost - Towers of Silence ( Epicurean: Cure5)
In Mumbai there are a number of brick towers, into which the Parsi people of India throw their dead ones, bound for their final journey up to heaven inside the vulture's bellies. This habit of sky burial derives from the Zoroastrian cult of Ancient Iran, where heaven was imagined as a very physical place. The towers, which remind of archaic silos, are called Dakhma or in English Towers of Silence.
The Australian unit LAST DOMINION LOST, originally founded in 1992 by Dominik Guerin (SPK) and Jon Evans, leave it to the listeners to guess where “Towers of Silence”, the allegorical title of their new album, really refers to – the fatal nature of physical life? The awkward edges between biological mortality and the idea of an eternal afterlife? The dreadful content which you may find inside what people built up? It's all open. One thing that LAST DOMINION LOST clearly show is how loud and infernal the silence of ending can be imagined. Screams of rage and anxiety intermingle with the shoutings of warriors – if the latter is not rather the croaking of vultures, which gather around corpses – until all is buried under an avalanche of infernal noise.
More than 20 years after the recordings for their debut album “The Tyranny of Distance” (Tesco, 2004), LAST DOMINION LOST come up with brand-new material recorded between 2012 and 2014, brilliantly mastered by James Plotkin in June 2014. Besides the core band members Jon Evans, John Murphy (Krank, Knifeladder, Shining Vril, Ex-SPK) and Julian Percy (Ratbag), “Towers of Silence” includes guest contributions by Ash Wednesday (Ex-Einstürzende Neubauten), Till Brüggemann (Gerechtigkeits Liga) and Annie Stubbs among others. With such a high degree of pedigree one should and can expect an equally high caliber of sounds, and LDL delivers via clanging junk metal, varied percussion, uneasy and uncomfortable analogue atmospherics and strong vocalizations, whether theatrically spoken or screamed. The term old school gets thrown around quite often (including by yours truly), but had you told me this was recorded in 1986 instead of 2014, I wouldn't have been surprised.. $13.77

Leila Abdul-Rauf - Cold and Cloud LP ( Saadi Saati: SS01)
Cold and Cloud is the self-produced solo debut of Leila Abdul-Rauf. A temporary escape from the worlds of her current and former projects (Vastum, Hammers of Misfortune, Saros, Amber Asylum, and more recently, Ionophore), Abdul-Rauf enters a world all of her own weaving brass and piano passages into filmic soundscapes inspired by the cold, dreary summers of San Francisco. Cold and Cloud tells an introspective story of loss from the haunting lyrical sections of tracks like "Tears in White Fluids" and "Questions", to the solemn drones of "Will I Be Sane?" and the funereal finality of "Separation".
Vinyl edition is the debut release of Saadi Saati, sublabel of Pesanta Urfolk Records, and includes free download card.. $16.00

Leila Abdul-Rauf & Tor Lundvall - Ibis/Quiet Seaside 7inch ( Dais: DAIS058)
Over the past few years, Tor Lundvall has thoughtfully displayed his ambient sound works in connection with Dais Records, releasing two retrospective multi-disc box sets and two full length albums. Apart from his collaboration with Tony Wakeford on Autumn Calls, collaborations with others have been extremely rare. Tor and multi-instrumentalist, Leila Abdul-Rauf (Vastum / Hammers of Misfortune / formerly of Amber Asylum) first got in touch in late 2011. Their exchanges eventually led to a musical collaboration of both like-minded artists joining in to illustrate their unique and personal visions of nature, life and art.
During a visit to Lundvall’s home in May 2012, Leila wrote a spontaneous track on Tor’s Winter Piano entitled Ibis. Tor recorded and engineered the track along with Leila’s vocals. Later that month, Lundvall added various sounds and ambient washes to the mix. A solo version of Ibis, featuring the original piano / vocals but with additional horn, was released on Abdul-Rauf’s debut LP Cold and Cloud on Saadi Saati Records in 2013 (Lundvall also designed the sleeve and created the cover art for this LP). The earlier, collaborative version of Ibis has remained unreleased until now. It was agreed that a 7″ was the perfect format.
On the reverse, Lundvall has written a new piece entitled Quiet Seaside constructed around Abdul-Rauf’s guitar riffs which Lundvall also recorded during her 2012 visit. The track captures Tor’s signature lush keyboard and ambient whirl. The early mix was sent to Leila who worked in her slow-moving brass performance and textured tone scales to make this work as introspective as it is beautiful.Limited edition of 300 vinyl copies featuring artwork by Tor Lundvall. $9.00

Lunus is the solo project of Devis "deviLs" Granziera of Teatro Satanicom, who creates monochromatically stark & harsh beats and anti-drone musick. "Nihil: is the nothing that Death brings. Nothing that will never go away, like a blurry memory from blackest emptiness, like a deep dark blood-spilling slash in your soul, a souvenir from Hell and an album of bleak, desperate, sad, doomed beauty. Legendary sound artist Lustmord has created a sound that created and epitomizes the sub-genre of dark ambient. Williams began working under that name in 1980, and since then his dark sound sculptures have been highly influential not only in music genres such as ambient and industrial, but also in film and games.
Lustmord's sound investigations are exquisitely crafted manifestations of horror that balance sublime sound references with the body's natural queasiness about ultra-low frequencies. Lustmord has previously extracted the eeriness from field recordings made in crypts, caves, and slaughterhouses, and combined it with occasional ritualistic incantations and the haunting wail of Tibetan horns. his seamless treatments of acoustic phenomena encased in digitally expanded bass rumbles have the darkly ambient quality of nightmares that take you to the blackest of abysses
With 'Beyond' , Lustmord presents the second (and final) disc of extended remixes from the album [other] which was primarily released in 2009 in a limited edition of 1000 copies. Machinefabriek - Dubbeltjes ( Zoharum: Zohar063)
A new compilation of rare works entitled "Dubbeltjes", consisting of 11 tracks recorded between 2008 and 2013, taken from 7" vinyl and 3" CDR releases. The durational limitations are useful to experiment with and to create really focused, crystallised pieces. Most of these tracks focus on a very limited palette of sounds. One track was constructed using solely trombone recordings from Hillary Jeffery (The Kilimanjaro Darkjazz Ensemble). Two were made using a simple setup of electric guitar and sampler, and surprisingly, two jazz classics, in collaboration with bass clarinet player Gareth Davis. All these sets of songs have a very specific quality to them. These tracks are among Rutger Zuydervelt's personal favorites and aren't available on a physical format anymore. Machinefabriek - Stillness Soundtracks ( Glacial Movements: GM022)
"When Esther Kokmeijer approached me with the idea of making the scores for a series of short films she was working on, I didn't hesitate. Having seen a lot of her photography, I immediately knew how inspiring the footage she shot in Antarctica and Greenland would be. And this expectation proved to be correct. In quite a short period (we had set a deadline, to show the result at an open studio date) we swapped sketches and edits of the videos and audio, until the combinations felt perfect. The 'Stillness' films aren't documentaries in the sense that they tell a clear story. We're seeing the Arctic through Esther's eyes, slowly passing giant icebergs and simply being amazed be the impressive and seemingly endless landscape. While in other films it's mostly the other way around, in 'Stillness' the narrative, if there is any, comes from the music. When making these soundtracks, the idea was to guide the viewer through the images with a sense of abstract story telling. Instead of the original first thought of making dark, cold soundscapes, the bleak mountains of ice are now colored by lush arrangements and even quite romantic themes. Esther and I released the videos on a usb-stick, in a limited edition of 100, that was sold out in no time. Now the scores are presented on 'Stillness Soundtracks', including two exclusive tracks. Maldur Atai - Umbra Nihili I ( Autarkeia: MTXCD07)
After nearly two years of silence, Maldur Atai returns with a "retrospective" remix album – Umbra Nihili I. This is the first record of the project, released under the Moontrix label. So far, four albums and three short vinyls of Maldur Atai have been released by Autarkeia.
Born in early 2010, an idea of remix album was transforming and evolving along with the microstages of Maldur Atai activity. The concept of the Umbra Nihili album series was inspired and framed by the perception that every aspect of reality is divided into two sides only until the mechanical moon-shaped puzzle found in mystic temples of Nepal is solved. It is a moment of change and endeavour to reassess the previous heights and abysses and to start a new cycle with one more opportunity to unfold the riddle of the last tabula rasa.
The sound system of Maldur Atai is a result of integration of various approaches and energy parts composing them. While designing the Umbra Nihili I, it was designed to involve as many factors as possible to influence the final structure of work. It is no coincidence that ultimate shape of the album concept was formed by friends from Lithuania (Oorchach, Skeldos, Pogrom), America (Voice Of Eye), and Sweden – (Deutsch Nepal). Final sound adjustments were made by Colin Potter, a magician of electronic music. A diverse yet cohesive collection of sounds, mostly living in the realm of the sublime, ambient and hypnotic, with periodic diversions into more abrasive areas.. $13.77

Mars - Blood Is the Food of the Gods ( Lichterklang: LK024)
MARS, a pagan brotherhood founded in 2011 (by :Golgatha: members), present their third release after the folk-debut ‘Sons of Cain’ and the powerful vinyl-e.p. ‘Sacrifice’. Inspired by American pagan folk and apocalyptic philosophy the sound of MARS is dominated by purely acoustic arrangements using guitars, various percussions and two male voices. Their drum-driven hymns tell of the persisting powers of nature, of the ancient breath of the gods and of the Eternal Cyclic Law of life. This is no simple escapism into dreamy realms, it’s a multifaceted journey into the subconscious parts of the human spirit, driven by pounding rhythms and accentuated guitars.
With ‘Blood is the Food of the Gods’ MARS has become a powerful force in the European pagan underground. Their songs are energetic rituals to awaken the forgotten powers.

Maurizio Bianchi - Amentest 7inch ( Dais: DAIS57)
The late 70′s rejection of punk and rock-oriented music within select underground subcultures was signified by the works of of bands like Throbbing Gristle, Cabaret Voltaire and Whitehouse. Using their network of record labels and propaganda, these like-minded noise makers created a sound and aesthetic that is known far and wide as something quite English. But in Italy, a storm was slowly brewing in the works of a lone composer by the name of Maurizio Bianchi. Starting in 1979, Bianchi formed his earliest sketches of abstract loop composition under the pseudonym Sacher-Pelz. After only a few months, he felt it was time to start producing more conceptual works under his given name, sometimes shortening his authorship to only MB. The following years saw some of industrial and ambient music’s most genre defining works. Rumors surrounded a series of mischievous unauthorized releases only to be contradicted by his humble and earnest willingness to collaborate with other like minded composers coincidentally followed up by his ominous “disappearance” from music during the late 80′s / early 90′s. His various comebacks always showed MB to be the master of his own device who undoubtedly influenced and inspired thousands of musicians, artists and composers with his creative output. Most recently, MB has been reflective on his 35 year history in music and the impact he has had on it. His recent works show MB as undoubtedly reflective yet remaining persistently original.
Amentest is Bianchi’s most recent work employing the 7” single format, a medium that MB has only dabbled in briefly. Keeping his abrasive rhythmic sounds, beautiful use of delay patterns and selective subject matters at hand, MB’s genius still shows that he is as relevant today as he was back when he was quietly manufacturing his echoed sound sculptures in the foothills of Italy in 1979.

Maurizio Bianchi - Apokalypsis XXIII ( Monochrome Vision: Patch6)
"Maurizio Bianchi's last ever electronic music album. The four long tracks are inspired by verses from "The Book of Revelation", the final and most mysterious part of the New Testament. "The old master of industrial music is back after a hiatus... Four quotes from the book of Apocalypse is all the cover reveals for this. Bianchi is apparently still a devoted man, but this time the apocalypse doesn’t get a loud soundtrack, like it would have sounded thirty years ago, but a rather gentle, minimalistic work. Four extended tracks of loops of synthesizers, celestial drones, scraping sounds, and cavernous ambience. Ltd x 500 copies in a golden foil embossed digisleeve.. $10.00

Megaptera - Nailed on Vinyl LP + Digital Download ( Raubbau: Raub028)
Certainly Megaptera needs no introduction to those that frequent this very catalog you're currently browsing. I mean, the guys a roster staple, a cornerstone of what become known as death industrial, and a key cog in the Malignant wheelhouse. Peter officially ceased activity as Megaptera in 1999, only to be resurrected for the benefit compilation, "No Good Deed Goes Unpunished". From there, it was a small step forward to gather some of the like-minded forces that populate the Malignant roster and create 2 new tracks and 2 remixed tracks. Which brings us to to the 37 minutes of music on Nailed on Vinyl: "Second Recovering' is an all new track featuring Robert C. Kozletsky of Shock Frontier, a hellish brew of distorted samples, martial percussion, and ritual wind instruments. Steel Hook Prostheses, who have aptly inherited and defended the death industrial throne from the Wwedes over the last decade, remix the classic track "Hypnotic Fear", adding a contemporary sonic quality while leaving intact the bleak monotony and abject horror of the original. 'Re-Recover' (featuring Kristoffer Oustad aka Kristoffer Nyströms Orkester) is built from similar elements as "Second Recovering", with a result that is more ample, solemn and mysterious. And finally, Peter Nyström himself remixes another classic Megaptera track, 'Kingdom of Death' a sickening audio document about serial murder, thick, claustrophobic atmospheres and samples that reveal the disturbing matter. Megaptera appear as strong as ever; purveyors of true darkness, undisputed masters of their craft, and a real treat for genre aficionados!. $19.50

”Kapitel” is the debut recording from the Russian, Swedish, but Copenhagen based Mischa Pavlovski, with a previous history in Posh Isolation punk and metal bands, his solo debut offers a very different take on sound although in equally dark territory. Kapitel is a monolithic piece of minimal, ambient techno and it is quite beyond grasp how this could be someones debut, with an incredible ear for composition and timing it offers four tracks, each track leading on to the next with heavy bass pulsing, distant desolated melodies, paranoid ambient soundscapes, with an underlying steady kick binding it all together.
With a running time of almost 40 minutes it still manages to keep its listener captivated from when the first kick enters to the moment the last synth runs out.. $21.00

Morthound - Mortology 1900-1996 5CD Boxset ( Raubbau: Raub022)
Raubbau goes about an ambitious enterprise with this extensive collection, not only re-releasing Morthound’s three seminal albums for Cold Meat Industry, but also the sought-after debut cassette, all five exclusive compilation tracks known to man and ten unreleased tracks as well - the entire legacy of what was Benny Nilsen’s dark musical past. These five discs cover the 6-year-lifespan of Morthound and showcase its remarkable metamorphosis from an outlet for noisy juvenile experiments over eerie death industrial and refined dark ambient, via gothic-tinged songs and soundscapes to metal-infused tracks. Raubbau has always had a soft spot for artists from the small Swedish industrial town of Nyköping, like Negru Voda, Deaf Machine and The Protagonist, and now here’s Benny Nilsen, possibly the most productive among the lot. he started Morthond (originally without the 'u') as a 15-year-old and released the 'Death Time' cassette on the Cold Meat sublabel Sound Source just a year later - a sought-after collectors item today. What followed then were three seminal CDs for CMI (that have long been unavailable as well) on which Nilsen kept reinventing the Morthound style before he called it quits in 1996. He then continued to work under the 'Hazard' moniker before taking to his actual name, releasing mostly on the British cult label Touch. Nilsen, having meanwhile relocated to Berlin, is nowadays recognized as a leading artist in the area of field recordings and electronica with a sophisticated, academic approach. Even though Morthound has long been put to rest, one should not underestimate its relevance, as all three CMI albums have had an enormous impact: 'This Crying Age' still sounds a great dark ambient album today, but its release was actually nothing less than a formative act for the genre; 'Spindrift' with its lush atmospheres and vocals helped experimental music to break into a much wider scene (you would even hear Morthound on goth dance floors at the time), and 'The Goddess Who Could Make the Ugly World Beautiful' with its heavy guitar riffs helped establish the mutual interest between the industrial and the underground metal scenes. Morthound was deservedly regarded as one of the leading artists on CMI in the label’s heyday and also performed his music live at the time to great acclaim. it was about time someone made the effort to re-introduce this genre-defining - and genre-defying - classic Swedish act in all its glorious entirety… that’s mortology! Exquisite packaging - black heavy-cardboard box including 8 page booklet + 5 cd's in black gatefold sleeves with copper print.. $55.00

Nordvargr/Drakh - The Betrayal of Light ( tUMULt: TM373)
Long overdue re-stock!! The two have some dark chemistry together, weaving elaborate worlds of black sound, not just ambience, not just drone music, but songs, with parts, and riffs and melodies, lots of guitars, occasionally trudging glacially like some slow motion doom behemoth, other times buzzing like some disembodied ghost of black metal, and at others, glistening and drifting in vast expanses of shimmer and whir. The Betrayal Of Light was originally meant to be released on several well known dark ambient labels, who all rejected the record for being too heavy, and for having too much guitar, and that's pretty much all tUMULt needed to hear. Nordvargr, Drakh, too heavy, too much guitar.... Thus it ended up on tUMULt, quite possibly where it belonged all along, fitting quite comfortably amidst a roster of black metal and drone musicks, embodying at least a handful of descriptors that seem to apply to most things on tUMULt, dark, droney, and fucked.... $9.00

Phurpa - Mantras of Bon ( Zoharum: Zohar075-2)
Phurpa is one of the most interesting recent music phenomena. Founded by Alexey Tegin, they create meditative music with roots in the ancient pre-buddhist tradition BON. Their concerts resemble shamanic mysteria where sounds, singing and rhythms invoke trance-like states, introducing the listeners into the realm of dead gods and the times of culture long since passed. The musicians themselves stress the spiritual nature of their activity.
One can look for a similar band in vain - a band that approaches the sound matter and its creation in such an accurate way. They use traditional instruments, but also human bones found in Tibetan wastelands. They meditate and practice the way of singing called "rgyud-skad."The magic and strength of their music has been appreciated by Stephen O'Malley among others, who released one of their albums on his own label.
Zoharum presents the latest album by the band entitled "Mantras of Bon." It is an extraordinary release, even for such an extraordinary and unusual project as Phurpa. More than 70 minutes of music, divided into two parts. The first, featuring Alissa Nicolai on vocals, shows the band from a completely different angle; the other one presents the most important and interesting sessions recorded over the past few years, with a recording from CTM festival where they impressed the audience with "kuntunzangpo."
"Mantras of Bon" is an excellent introduction into the adventures with Phurpa, the world of Tibetan music filtered by contemporary reinterpretation free from rigid rules. It may enchant both those looking for interesting sacral music and the ones searching for a new form of sonic statement. This 3-panel ecopak release is strictly limited to 500 copies.

Project:Void - Enslavement and Death ( L-White: LW078)
Less a map of hell and more a detailed exploration. Each of the 9 songs describe a different hellish landscape. A sermon from the mount clothed in sulphur, brimstone and ash. Smog and grime make everything loathsome to touch. Vocals lash out like the biting razors of a polar wind. Expunging the black bile from within and reacting against pollutants from without. Through an air thick with flies the vocals spit forth misanthropy, frustration at a humanity still chained to the institutions of government and organised religion. Bells toll out through the mire signalling end or beginning? It matters not the apocalypse is already here. The creator of this orchestra of chaos is Corvus Rex (Fury 161, Black Crow King, N.D.E.) using an array of scathing sounds and punishing textures, this is sound as catharsis and weapon. Lmtd 200, slim DVD packaging.. $13.99

Puce Mary - Persona LP ( Posh Isolation: Posh131)
In years with an overflow of genre specific exercises, one can’t help questioning what industrial music really means. Where is the experiment hiding, when every cover and every record look and sound more and more the same, using the same images, referring to the same literature, the same movies, arguing the same ”counter”cultural ideas, while really enforcing the same tactics of consumerism as the mainstream, in a stylized miniature.
Once in a while an artist comes along who manages to both cherish the tradition of industrial music and at the same time walk their own path, choosing their own route to truth: Experiment. With her first solo full length, released last year, Puce Mary managed to do exactly that - and now with the follow-up "Persona", she proves herself to be one of the most interesting projects around today.
"Persona" manages to balance the hyper personal universe of the artist with enough care for presentation to make it valuable for everyone to listen to, and take part in her experience. And she does that through six tracks, that each take their own place while corresponding beautifully with its neighbors. From primitive rhythmic patterns to elaborate drone pieces and pain stricken vocals. Insisting on finding new routes for the work and with a rare honesty, "Persona" holds its listener captive from start to finish.. $24.00

Raison D'’Etre - Requiem for Abandoned Souls (Expanded) 2CD ( Old Europa Café: OECD198)
The expanded edition of 'Requiem for Abandoned Souls' contains the original disc with a bonus track and a second disc with material from various live performances from 2003 and 2004. As with the original release (Cold Meat Industry 2003) the artwork consists of images of abandoned places photographed by Henk van Rensbergen, but instead of being presented with five different layouts all the original images are included in the one and only layout. 'Requiem for Abandoned Souls' is a kind of climax, a career peak that all previous albums pointed up to, where the music sets a perfect backdrop for the theme as spelled out by the album title. The key to understanding Andersson's vision for this album lies in the track titles; read separately, or taken together as a poem. The toll of a church bell escorts the listener on an existential voyage through the world according to Raison d'être, a bleak place populated by shadowy souls abandoned of all hope. But don't let that scare you away, because this remarkably beautiful collection of songs is a true remedy in this age of chaos; when the outside withers away, the inside fills with emptiness, and there's nothing left to believe in.As with the paths previously forged, sacral and arcane religious undertones permeate all aspects of the music. Awash with reverberating drones, metallic nuisances, discordant chimes, haunting chorals and sub- orchestral movements, the forlorn atmospheres unfold over the expanse of the tracks.. $16.66

Rapoon - The Fires of the Borderlands 2CD ( Zoharum: Zohar067-2)
It's been 16 years since the release of Rapoon's masterpiece entitled "The Fires of the Borderlands". It is arguably his best known work and still much appreciated by both old fans of his music as well as new-comers. Long out-of-print and much sought after, this classic has now received a well-deserved expanded reissue treatment.
Originally, "The Fires of the Borderland" was comprised of 11 tracks full of evocative ambient sonic textures. These sounds generated images of desert lands somewhere in uncharted countries in Africa or the Middle East suspended in time. It is a chronicle of those lands which was found buried in the scorching sands. You can almost feel the texture of it in every second of this album which conjures up ghosts of people from those lands with writhing snakes at their feet.
This special edition is comprised of two discs. The first is the main album which is mastered from the original tapes, therefore, it sounds significantly better to the 1998 version. The bonus disc is a 40-minute live recording for the San Francisco-based radio KFJC which again proves that Robin Storey has mastered the ability to creating haunting sonic atmospheres.
This expanded edition of the album is packaged in a digipak sleeve and is limited to 500 copies worldwide.. $17.66

Re-DrUm/B°tong - Split ( Zoharum: Zohar065-2)
Split album between Russian RE-DRUM and Swiss B°TONG. Each project has prepared 30 minutes for this special release.
Avid Zoharum observers already know Pavel Aleshin's project called Re-DrUm. 5 years ago we released his album "S" and it was our 7th release. In the meantime, he has been touring extensively plus released one full album, a digital EP and offered his music on a split release with Rovar17. Now Pavel returns to Zoharum with 3 new tracks of contemplative nature. They are full of slow acoustic sounds and field recordings. His sound on "Hush!" is less droney than on "S", but much more organic and laid-back.
The second part of this release belongs to Chris Sigdell and his renowned project b°tong. In contrast to Re-DrUm, "Ascending in the Light of an Alien Sun" is a different affair - a dark, brooding affair full of oily drones and treated sounds. Again, composed of 3 songs, it takes you on a trip to the desolate factory inhabited with ghosts of its previous owners.
This special project is released in a mini-vinyl sleeve and is strictly limited to 400 copies worldwide.. $12.00

Reutoff & Sal Solaris - Eigengrau ( Cyclic Law: 65thCycle)
Joint release by Russian post-industrial projects Reutoff and Sal Solaris. The working title of the record is «Beyond the principles» and refers to the psychoanalytic concept of inner human life guided by two principles; that of reality and pleasure. The sober, cold cosmic ambient of Sal Solaris expresses the principle of reality that restrains the drive of our wild souls while the emotionally rich and turmoiled post-industrial of Reutoff matches with the impetuosity of human desire. Does the domination of these principles mean that a human creature is crucified between the desire and impossibility of its realization? This album taken as a whole is a hypothesis, that there is a place where a person can be free from itself. With our eyes closed we behold the inner utterless "intrinsic grey", Eigengrau, that shines beyond any principles.
Edition of 500 copies in Foil Stamped 6 panel Digipack with 4x12" poster. 8 Tracks. 1:15:00. $12.77

Savage Cross - Ensepulchred Under The Weight Of The Void: Compressed To Nothing CDr ( Occult Supremacy: OSP009)
A complete devouring of light hybrid of black metal and noise, coming off as something like an unpolished and raw version of an early Gnaw Their Tongues rehearsal...a swirling cacophony of nihilistic vocals, crashing percussion, discordant guitar, and droning filth. This strikes me as improvised and stream of consciousness that is at time's sloppy and barbaric, but that's exactly what makes it work, and probably intended to be that way.. $5.50

Sektor 304 - Communiphones ( New Approach: NAR08)
Probably not what you'd immediately expect from Sektor 304, but by the same token, not all that surprising either given their periodic propensity to create extended passages of more atmospheric material; "Communiphones" consists of 35 minute piece built on synthesizers and field recordings, aiming for a monolithic and dronish paranoid ambience. Even if the approach is different, the sound is definitively and uniquely Sektor 304, with shifting layers of industrial clutter, mechanical whir, and gloomy, unsettled synthdrift. A necessary companion to all Sektor works and a nice counterpoint to the heavier, more rhythmic based material.. $12.66

Sharpwaist is Carl Haas a long time Boston industrial artist and Marabou Stork is a former Boston resident and musician now living in New York.Spanning roughly 60 minutes Cold Shots brings the listener on a sepia-tinged journey through dry crunchy leaves, chilly nights, and the smell of organic decay that is all a part of the fall season. Sigillum S - Studs and Divinity ( Monochrome Vision: MV47)
Originally released on cassette in 1989, Sigillum S' "Studs and Divinity", as well as releases from the same era, represent some of the more important releases in late '80s/early '90s Italian industrial music, as well as in dark industrial music in general, setting the stage for the beginning stages of the Cold Meat, Old Europa, and Slaughter Production sound. Studs and Divinity isn't their most focused work, nor their best work from the time period (quite honestly, parts of it are somewhat awkward by today's standard) but still, it's a vital document, navigating through ritualistic, dark ambient realms, swirls of cybernetic noise, electronic mutations, and solemn orchestrations. Sigma Octantis - Dissipations ( Malignant: Treatment04)
Final release from this enigmatic French act, who over their 10 plus year existence, evolved into something very cerebral and innovative, fusing tribal rhythms and percussion with post-industrial and post-rock soundscapes, where cinematic textures and emotive melodies combine to create an eclectic, yet highly detailed and focused listening experience. Sigma Octantis has never been shy about their admiration of Morthound, and while that rings true with Dissipations, they have undoubtedly forged their own identity, the strength of their sound coming from an ability to take a template established 20 years ago, and expound upon it with a distinctive and broad palette of layers and complexities, where the overall arrangement of the tracks is structured and song oriented, but made surreal, unpredictable, and infinitely engrossing. A unique vision has come to pass, but will continue to live on with a strong end statement. For fans of Morthound, Deutsch Nepal, and the latter works of Caul. A light at the end of the tunnel, penetrating different fissures along the walls, penetrating our mind with echoes. One only has to imagine a minimal tech project gone the drone-ocean way… pulsations are always there, but tinged with a sonic fog that is heavy, damp and fluid at the same time and which always suggests, in the end, uncertain twists and turns in this crossing of tunnels. Formal debut of this Portland, Oregon duo signifies not only a new addition to the Malignant family, but a vital entry into the death industrial field. Using a broad array of hand-made or modified instrumentation and layered processing, Teeth Engraved have crafted one of the more despondent and grime encrusted releases to populate the roster; Frayed, noxious frequencies, crumbling static, and corrosive drones that teeter on the edge of abrasiveness mixed with a rotting underbelly of cluttered, industrial churn, falling somewhere between the smoldering scourge of Gruntsplatter and the dread filled, post-mortem atmospherics of Anenzephalia. The corresponding result is 7 lengthy tracks that thrive on abandonment, hopelessness, and negativity in a desolate, post-apocalyptic environment. TeHÔM - Lacrimae Mundi ( Cyclic Law: 67thCycle)
Active in the mid 90's, Croatia's TeHÔM has been resurrected in the past years by original member Miljenko Rajakovic. Their first 2 albums were released on Twilight Command, side label of Douglas P's NER label. TeHÔM's founding member Sinisa Ocurscak unfortunately passed away in 1997, victim of a probable war related cancer. 3 years after his passing their 2nd album, and what was thought to be their last, "Theriomorphic Spirits' was finally released. The project was then laid to rest and years later finally revived. A very surreal, obscure and cinematic sounding opus has been created by Miljenko, following closely in the footsteps of previous works but now taking the project to new levels. Terra Sancta - Exile ( Malignant: TumorCD69)
6 years have passed since the last full length Terra Sancta release, and time has treated Australia’s preeminent dark ambient export well. Exile finds Greg Good revisiting some of the more orchestral elements that made up his Malignant debut, Aeon, but wrapping them up in the sweeping, sand blasted drones and windswept textures that defined the latter releases, Disintegration and the 2011’s CDEP, Sunken|Buried|Forgotten. The interplay is perfectly conceptualized and executed…immense, lightless ambience with piercing slivers of beauty and serenity breaking through dense clouds of swirling dust and monoliths of blackened synth hum. What has stayed constant is the massive scale in which Terra Sancta operates. This is at once majestic and panoramic, yet desolate and abyssal, drifting in varied and continuous shades of desert and earthen colors, the track titles revealing the nature of the sounds: Empire of Ashes..., ...Kingdom of Dust, Celestial Extinction (featuring Rasalhague), The Desolate Land, Descent II, Vanishing Point, End Path. Theologian - Some Things Have to Be Endured ( Crucial Blast: CBR104)

Endured is a collection of collaborations between Theologian and a lineup of female vocalists/artists from both within the industrial / noise / dark ambient / coldwave realm and beyond, with contributions from Rachael Kozak (Hecate), Kristen MacArthur (Sewer Goddess), Rachel Maloney (Tonikom), Nikki Telladictorian (Prometheus Burning), Patricia Benitez (Fetish Drone), Gillian Leigh Bowling (Teloahqaal), Christiana Key (Delphic Oracle), Joan Hacker (Factoria), Shari Vari (Void Vision), and professional opera singer Melissa C. The tracks shift from grinding industrial dread to ethereal coldwave beauty, blasts of rumbling blackened synthcrush met with washes of haunting electronic melody, while always remaining rooted in Theologian's bleak, jet-black industrial sound. Co-produced with Derek Rush/DREAM INTO DUST and mastered by James Plotkin, Some Things Have To Be Endured contains some of the most moving and dramatic music to emerge from Theologian's black sonic abyss, and the album comes adorned with striking photography by Ione Rucquoi that makes this one of the more visually arresting releases in Theologian's growing catalog.. $10.00

Hubrizinewas two years in the making and features sourcematerial by Finland's mighty STROM.ec, undoubtedlyheralded as masters of the PE oeuvre, as reinterpretedand re-engineered by Theologian, in celebration of ashared appreciation for the works of Philip K. Dick. From the opening moments, what immediately strikesyou is that this probably isn't what you thought itwas going to be, given the history of both acts.Sure, there are a good deal of passages of volatilityand focused intensity as you might expect, but theyare complimented by an equal amount of passages ofhallucinatory ambience and cold, serene atmospherics. It's this very dichotomy that makes this such amasterful recording, and listening to it one sittingbecomes almost mandatory just to wrap your head aroundthe mind fuckery that unravels over its 7 tracks, ascelestial drift and horizon filling textures collidewith sudden eruptions of militantly hostile vocals, machine clatter, blistering frequency pulsations andwrithing distortion. The title track is clearly thecenterpiece here...an epic and sprawling 18 minutetrack of climatic and shimmering drones thatdisintegrates into corrosive generator hum andcontorted loops with an insane vocal outburst thatrivals any STROM.ec output ever created. The Rita - Ballet Feet Positions ( Old Europa Café: OECD193)
The Rita’s new full length work is a complex work of obsessive research on discipline, elite beauty, and suffering in the world of Ballet. The first of 2 lengthy tracks slowly builds up over-the-top harsh noise machinery that brings Sam McKinlay’s (BT.HN, Vice Wears Black Hose, Black To Comm) classic trademark that crowned him as the godfather of harsh noise wall, with a monolithic build up of violence and intensity. The second track is a power electronics rework of the the same sounds executed by Insubria hostile electronic unit CALIGULA031 that mixed all material with analogue / modular sounds and in your face vocals, underlining different possibilities of textural processing. The original sound sources are from Vancouver's Kelly Davis, who rigorously went through various feet positions and movements of classical ballet while a Traumatone contact microphone was rigged with a knee support brace to the side of her knee / thigh to capture the sounds of any hint of movement. McKinlay finds that the totemic fetishism and the subtle resonances of the female voice as they describe the topic(s) help to bury the listener into all that is woman, especially as the samples shift into the symmetry of a female dancer’s recorded movement. T.O.M.B. - Pennhurst/Xesse ( Crucial Blast: CBR108)
Pennhurst / Xesse is a new collection of rare material from the shadowy black industrial outfit T.O.M.B., featuring their ultra-limited Pennhurst album and the tracks from the one-sided Xesse 12" previously released on Prison Tatt. Featuring all new artwork and presented in a six-panel digipack, this full-length disc delivers over an hour's worth of the band's bizarre brand of vile electro-acoustic noisescapes, oppressive industrial drift and ghoulish vocalizations seemingly dredged up from the dank black bowels of some long-abandoned mausoleum.
Originally released in 2009 as an extremely limited CDR on Esto Perpetua Records, Pennhurst features five tracks of abysmal necro-industrial filth, formed from source material that the band recorded at the notorious Pennhurst State and Norristown State Hospitals, two Philadelphia-area mental asylums that have boasted disturbing legacies of abuse and experimentation in the past. As with their other releases, this centers around nightmarish industrial soundscapes built from the band's blighted blackened electronics and creepy field recordings, the tracks often erupting into blasts of suffocating hellish noise. The throbbing black distorted synthesizers that pulse across opener "Primevil Sorcery" rumble forth like waves of black lava, the band's signature suffocating bass frequencies rolling across fields of agonized, wraithlike screaming and crackling volcanic noise, while percussive metallic sounds echo and clatter in the depths, a miasma of abyssal sound that swirls and shudders in the darkness, revealing horrific aural details, eruptions of deformed blown-out melody and bursts of nightmarish agony within the massive, churning chaos that stretches out for nearly twelve minutes. As that stygian roar rumbles right into "Maz Ov Tha Damd", the band surges into a primal tattoo of ritualistic rhythm, pounding primordial drums thundering beneath their layered noise and field recordings and amplified metallic reverberations, blending a brutal improvisational percussive assault with more of that suffocating black noise, demonic shrieks and foul reptilian screams rupturing in the blackness, the sound growing more monstrous and violent as the drums give way to abrasive sheet-metal abuse. The nearly twenty five minute "Goetic Xaos" is the centerpiece of Pennhurst, another sprawling sonic nightmare of processed acoustic percussion and infernal drone, the sound dense and swirling and psychedelic, infested with stretches of slithering black ambience and deep tectonic reverberations that rumble deep below the surface, the air alive with ghostly found sounds and harsh metallic abrasions, warped transmissions of ancient voudou drumming and demonic EVP. The wailing voices that drift out of that thunderous din seep into the short interlude "Audi Alteram Partem", which almost resembles some demented Diamanda Galas piece lost in a fog of metallic skree and cathedral reverb, and then the album descends into the utterly monstrous title track, a blackened expanse of rotting electronics and crumbling concrete, the sound of entropy and psychological decay sped up into a blur of Merzbowian sonic horror that wraps up the disc. The whole thing adds up to one of T.O.M.B.'s most intense blasts of sonic terror.
The other half features T.O.M.B.'s Xesse, one of the band's more "ambient", droneological works. That's not to say that this is any less fearsome than the preceding tracks, though. This EP opens with a chorus of wailing voices, the sounds of abject suffering echoing and reverberating within some lightless underground crypt. A deep distant rumbling presence can be heard, just barely perceptible; it's quickly overcome by heavy waves of harsh crackling noise and fuzz that slowly sweep in and recede, washing away those screams of agony and leaving behind a residue of minimal, empty blackness in their place. From there, Xesse moves into crushing Lustmordian walls of drone, thick buzzing synthesizers rumbling under snarling, electronically-warped vocals and other demonic utterances, the synth dropping in and out as bits of minor key drift float in. Out of this growing graveyard chaos comes the sound of distorted chanting, sonic remnants of some unseen ritual taking place in the depths of T.O.M.B.'s soundscape. Heavier drones recede, leaving a cacophony of scraping metal noise and processed bass tones and what almost sounds like crushing, doom-laden guitars grinding deep in the murk. The recording constantly shifts between those placid lifeless drones and strange echoing graveyard rituals and the swells of hallucinatory heaviness, eventually giving way to some seriously mind-melting cosmic drift towards the end, the voices shifting from blasphemous ranting to garbled unknown tongues as it drifts out into an abyss of swirling dub effects, delicate chiming tones, and rhythmic metal pounding that finally erupts into frantic percussive chaos, the thunder of hammers on metal shaking the chthonic depths, then fading into silence.. $10.00

Re-stock of the re-issue! Here's my original review: My early favorite for record of the year. Too much new stuff for me to go into heavy details, so I’ll steal a review from Funprox (below) Suffice to say, this is a really really good record of Euro-centric militaristic, neo-classical sounds with a keen ear for composition…very recommended. From funprox: Triarii, named after an elite infantry division of the Roman Empire's army, may not make the most original music in the world, but I truly like what I hear. "Ars Militaria" is the debut album from this German act, after the single 'Triumph', also on the Berlin label Eternal Soul. Like the title promises, you can expect a clear martial atmosphere on pieces like 'Europe in flames' and 'Regicide II', complete with historical samples and noises. The album, housed in an elegant grey cover, contains various orchestral anthems in the vein of Sophia, Karjalan Sissit and Wappenbund, with snare drums and other marching percussion, as well as bombastic string layers, uplifting trumpets and choirs. Besides these powerful tracks there also more restrained ritual tunes, which strongly remind of Ordo Rosarius Equilibrio, especially through the vocals. Example are 'Mother of pain' and 'Serpent, sun & world ending'. Furthermore there are some tranquil atmospheric classical compositions, like 'Der verwundete', dedicated to the controversial sculptor Arno Breker, and musicwise reminding me of In the Nursery. The music and the subject matter on "Ars Militaria" may not be very innovative, this is a very solid album which will be quite often in my cd-player. If you like heroic martial music, then Triarii is an act to follow. $12.00

Triarii - Piece Heroique ( Eternal Soul: ESCD05)
Re-stock of the re-issue! Triarii’s debut CD ‘Ars Militaria’ ranked as one of my favorites of 2004 (?), and with Piece Heroique, we are again presented with another brilliant release. Forceful, monumental, and epic neo-classical compositions with a palpable sense of drama and exhiliration. These are wonderfully well written pieces, with Triarii creating the perfect blend of solemn, more introspective orchestrations with more stirring militaristic declarations. There’s no shortage of acts jumping on the neo-classical/military bandwagon, but very few, if any, do it as well as Triarii. Produced by Jouni Havoukainen (In Slaughter Natives) and featuring one track with Tomas Pettersson of Ordo Equilibrio. That enough should be enough to judge the quality of this release. Stunning.. $12.00

Troum - Dreaming Muzak ( Zoharum: Zohar074-2)
"Dreaming Muzak" is the first full-length material od TROUM duo originally released on tape in 1998 and later re-released on a limited CDR (100 copies only) in 2005. This edition is the first one on a regular CD. The material was thoroughly remastered by Łukasz Miernik (who is also responsible for the sound of the previous MAEROR TRI reissues on Zoharum.)"Dreaming Muzak" is composed of 2 drone ambient compositions so characteristic for the TROUM style. They were created as a muzak tuning our brainwaves into the proper dreaming stadium. The following prerequisites have been accompanying the duo for many years, hence they have become their credo executed on many excellent records and gigs. It is "Dreaming Muzak" that constitutes an excellent introduction to the adventures with TROUM and their music.
The cover design is based on the artwork of Wiktor JackowskiThis edition is released in a 3-panel digipak stroctly limited to 350 copies.. $12.66

Tundra - Tajnie i Głębie ( Zoharum: Zohar076-2)
Apart from countless reissues and new materials by renowned projects, Zoharum searches for new faces. This time it is a duo based in the same town as the label, namely Gdańsk, called Tundra - an electroacoustic project of Dawid Adrjanczyk and Krzysiek Joczyn, whose inspiration is, first and foremost, space, both in its physical manifestation and the spiritual meaning. Beside samples, field recordings and sound manipulation, they use acoustic instruments.
"Tajnie i Głębie" (Mysteries and Depths), their new recordings, is a temporary departure from the region of improvisation for the sake of studio work. The first full-length album of Tundra is a continuation of the previously chosen path; soundwise, it is based on the sonic contemplation of space. Here it is mostly of spiritual nature. The starting point situated in the subarctic region is left behind, and is replaced with wanderings among symbols scattered in the infinity. This path leads to a point which seems to be familiar to us, but it is not its beginning of the journey.
By using various means of expression, the duo reread the canon of experimental music and explore new sonic territories. Six compositions presented here serve the purpose of a soundtrack to imaginary journeys into places where peace and chill reign simultaneously. These are akin to more ethereal songs from the World Serpent realm, but also academic compositions or free improv. The sounds on "Tajnie i Głębie" lose tracks and inspirations luring the listeners with an ambiguous atmosphere at the same time. This 3-panel ecopak release is strictly limited to 350 copies.. $12.00

Umpio - Opium Electronix I-III 2xC-90 ( Freak Animal: UOEFA)
Reissued on Freak Animal, these were kinda hard to find and/or lost in time. These are throbbing movements through electronic storms, at times so slow and seismic that the listener needs some time to let the pulses start to work properly on a psychoacoustic level. Opium is also an anagram of Umpio, which brings out the meditative/sedated aspects of these pieces, aimed at erasing all sense of time and presence. From noisy to empty, here are the first 3 volumes compiled on chrome tapes: Vol.I has been augmented with 2 new pieces from the same source material, vol.II has been slightly shortened to fit on tape, and vol.III is unaltered.. $17.00

Various Artists - Epicurean Escapism I CD/DVD ( Epicurean: CureI)
Right on time for the third Epicurean Escapism Festival, The Epicurean & Silken Tofu release another compilation, which is not a mere reissue of the previous Epicurean Escapism I tape/DVDr set released in 2012, but comes with new & exclusive tracks by IRM, Krank, JARL as well as a collaboration track by Human Larvae & Anemone Tube. Apart from this, the set includes a DVD with collected video works by IRM mastermind Martin Bladh and a 24-page catalogue with essays and artwork by the same artist.
Swedish industrial trio IRM provide an episodic track constructed with elements from “Indications of Nigredo”, “Order4” and their new album “Closure” unified into a new, holistic composition, which contrasts aggressive noise segments with the illusionary moments of almost folkish lavishness.
The track by John Murphy’s lately revived project KRANK is a dark collage of fragmented noise, acoustic samples and female vocals all intermingled in a vortex of sonic chaos. IRM member JARL contributes a subtle piece of circulating drone sound, whose tranquil surface makes the half hidden harshness beneath even more audible.
Anemone Tube and Human Larvae contribute a quite lucid piece that perfectly combines the qualities of both projects – the knock-on effect of Anemone Tube’s flow of sounds melts with the heaviness of Human Larvae’s doom-like industrial.
The 92 minute DVD by Martin Bladh includes his earliest short film “Pig and Tomboy”(2005), the epic pentalogy “Cycle” (2006) and the conceptual installation video “DES“ (2009) among others. All the films present unvarnished set pieces of the human body subjected to subtly implied violence within claustrophobic spaces, where the camera itself, the voyeuristic eye, is the only free player. The accompanying art catalogue includes collages and Polaroids, several short essays by Bladh as well as an introduction text by Carl Abrahamsson.. $24.00

Various Artists - T.O.M.B. / Clavicula Salomonis /Black Seas of Infinity / Bride - Split 2xC30 ( Danvers State Recordings: DSR57)
4 way split on 2 x C30s offering a diverse yet cohesive selection of blackened hopelessness and toxic atmospheres. First up is T.O.M.B. with three tracks of murky and opaque ritual ambience, that eventually moves into a more malevolent realm of clanging metal and soul crushing, hyper modulated, industrial noise.
Clavicula Salmonis is a new one for me with a 14 minute track of well composed and carefully constructed dark noise and atmospheric scourge, finishing it off with some serious crunch and grind.
It's been awhile since I've heard anything from Black Seas, but they've always struck me as a somewhat under appreciated act, though a lack of activity is probably more responsible for that. Still, nice to have them back, and the 15 minute piece is a good representation of their sound; lightless and bleak dark ambient that moves in slowly shifting patterns.
Lastly, Bride, which is a side project of T.O.M.B., focusing on ritualistic experimental and ambient sounds with hints of industrial and noise thrown in. 6 tracks.. $10.66

Various Artists - White Power LP ( Not On Label: NOLWPLP)
Unauthorized LP version of the famous cassette from 1982 on then 14 year old Phillip Best's (Consumer Electronics, Whitehouse) DIY label, Iphar. Features a formidable line-up of early '80s giants, including Consumer Electronics, Ramleh, Kraang, Club Moral, MB, & Sutcliffe Jugend. Crude, raw, and essential. Note, that despite the title, this isn't an endorsement of white power, as much as it was an attempt to shock and be intentionally provocative, and there's nothing here musically that's overtly right wing. Simple white sleeve cover with two xeroxed flyer inserts. Picture is of the original tape sleeve, not this LP.. $24.00

Wertham - Tell Me the Truth ( Old Captain: OCCD04)
Old Captain is glad to celebrate WERTHAM’s 20th anniversary by releasing “TELL ME THE TRUTH”, a collection of old releases and difficult-to-find tracks from the Italian Power Electronics project that made quite a name for itself thanks to a full-frontal approach that mixes multiple-layered sound structures with aggressive vocals, intense use of samples and uniquely-structured concepts. “Tell me the truth” focuses mostly on the first decade of WERTHAM’s recordings, including sold-out tapes, 7”s, contribution to splits, rare tracks from compilations, excerpt from early works and one unreleased song, for approximately one hour of sheer violence, rough sounds and uncompromising attitude, remastered by Monsieur Yvan Battaglia (LCHM). Gender wars, leatherboys, STDs, general socio-biology, frustrations of the modern 9-5 man, Insubria white trash mentality, stereotypes, nutritional disorders, self deprecation, glorification of decaying icons of a withering world are the main themes expressed mostly with minimal slogans. CD comes in an illustrated black and white 6-tray digipack featuring extensive text and detailed information.Limited to 250 copies.. $13.88
