4th Sign of the Apocalypse - All the Children Love... ( Old Europa Café: OECD172)
Bryin Dall (Thee Majesty, Hirsute Pursuit, Dream Into Dust, A Murder Of Angels) refines and expands the sound of his project from the long sold-out classic 'Lost Hour World' album released via World Serpent. Darkness mixed with small doses of odd humour and whimsy. Thick, world-weary beats spanning Industrial, Trip-Hop, and even Tribal rhythms are given Dall's inimitable production twist. Live strings give way to electronic bleeps. Dark Ambient swirls and noisy passages share time with vocals of innocence and wonder. Fairy tales are not responsible for producing in children fear, or any of the shapes of fear; fairy tales do not give the child the idea of the evil or the ugly; that is in the child already, because it is in the world already. Find out why ALL THE CHILDREN LOVE 4TH SIGN OF THE APOCALYPSE. Ltd x 300 copies in a digipak.. $14.33

Abandoned Asylum - Derelicts of Distant Hope ( Malignant: TumorCD63)
The debut album from Poland’s Abandoned Asylum and a welcome new entry into the Malignant family, fitting nicely alongside roster mates Rasalhague, Collapsar, and Phelios, in its ability to explore not only the outer edges of the cosmos, but deep into catacombs and dimly lit underground passages. Derelicts of Distant Hope is a collection of 7 tracks in total where shape shifting tonal swells are met with a host of nebulous textures, distant mechanical whir and industrial debris, and drifting atmospheric desolation, all expertly constructed and layered into a sprawling and expansive whole. With dark ambient, it’s not so much about re-inventing the wheel (which isn’t so easy to do given the genre’s defining characteristics) as much as it is about setting the mood, and Abandoned Asylum accomplishes that with great precision and skill. In 6 panel digipak, lmtd 500 copies.. $11.00

Ab Intra - Supremus ( Zoharum: Zohar026)
3rd full length CD from this Polish act finds them honing their skills, and creating some rather finely crafted, meditative drone-scapes. I wouldn't classify this as dark ambient in the true sense of the word, much like I wouldn't classify Bad Sector in the same manner - but it is definitely heavily atmospheric, with swathes of textured electronics that peak and swell in dynamic patterns. Part cosmic bliss, part looming climatic disturbance, part mind expanding drift.. $12.33

Actuary - The Reality Is, The Dream is Dead ( Crucial Blast: Blaze22)
Since forming late in the latter half of the past decade, the California-based extreme noise outfit Actuary has been steadily cranking out a stream of split releases that saw them sharing wax (or other petroleum-based substances) with everyone from Merzbow, Bastard Noise and Gnaw Their Tongues side-project Aderlating to cult underground noise spewers like Winters In Osaka, Bacteria Cult, Juhyo and Fetus Eaters. Keeping up with their prolific output has been a daunting task, but also a rewarding one, as Actuary has been pretty consistent in quality, offering epic-length blasts of abstract electronic chaos, extreme psychedelic circuit-fuckery and monstrous synth abuse with each new release that are primed for some serious sonic skull-melt.
On their first real full-length Cd 'The Reality Is, The Dream Is Dead', Actuary returns to present us with four new tracks of intense noise that covers all of the different aspects of their sound. The opener 'Spiritual Armageddon' sends spasms of squelchy electronic carnage through a massive rumbling dronescape, evoking visions of high-end robotics in the throes of mass suicide in the bowels of some subterranean forge, interspersing the blasts of crazed glitchery and hyper-speed tape-vomit with passages of dark, reverberating factory ambience. 'Heat Of Eternal Punishment' blends together scraping metallic tones and textures with more of that violently spastic sine wave manipulation and sputtering distortion, later shifting into fields of fearsome industrial soundscaping and layered, processed samples that ratchet up the panic level to nearly unbearable heights. Corrosive buzz saw drones flutter and fluctuate across the 'Pool Of Perpetual Torment', building into crushing waves of percussive industrial pummel, malfunctioning engine roar and mangled electronics. And on the final track 'Baptized In Flames', the band works up a smoldering, apocalyptic noisescape infested with the sounds of clanking metal chains, pulsating distorted synths, and the howling of mutant cetaceans, and by the end of the album has transformed into something resembling an entire megalopolis being consumed in a hell of nuclear fire.
The malevolent, psychedelic electronics that Actuary exudes across 'Reality' takes the sort of brutal cyborg chaos found in the likes of Bastard Noise and Government Alpha, and drenches it in a heavy coating of dextromethorphan delirium, making for some of their heaviest noise so far. Released in a limited, hand-numbered edition of two hundred copies as part of the 'Crucial Blaze' series, 'The Reality Is The Dream Is Dead' also features a thirty-two page art zine assembled by the band, filled with strange, surrealistic artwork from members of the band as well as contributions from FetusK, Mories (Gnaw Their Tongues), Chris Dodge (Spazz), Jay Randall (Agoraphobic Nosebleed) and more.... $10.00

Aderlating - Gospel of the Burning Idols ( Black Plagve: Infect12)
4th full length disc from this offshoot of Gnaw Their Tongues, finds Mories and Eric Eijspaart exploring further realms of the depraved and sinister; a 7 track descent into a world of wretched decay, nefarious manifestations, and atmospheric decrepitude, where charred frequencies meet slithering, roiling darkness, industrial clutter, demonic vocal incantations, and blurred, abstract layers of nightmarish horror, all periodically propelled forward by an invasion of live, free-form percussion and crashing cymbal resonance. Few artists can deliver a full spectrum of hellish ambience like Mories and Eric, and with Gospel of the Burning Idols, Aderlating comes forth with one of their most focused and complete recordings, capturing the sound closest to a live experience, with little sampling and using only “machines”, synths, vocals, and percussion.. $8.66

Aderlating - The Golden Mass ( Fall of Nature: FN10)
Foreboding dead atmospheres clash with abstract, experimental manipulations, creating blackened invocations summoned via unsettling, claustrophobia inducing walls of sound that blur all distinctive lines of common genre labeling. Aeterna - Abyssos ( Lichterklang: LK012)
In 2009 the German Apocalyptic Folk Duo Aeterna released their successful debut „New Dawn“ on the Swedish cult label „Cold Meat Industry“. Their unique blend of dark Black Ambient, percussive Martial Industrial and fatalistic Folk was described as „Luciferian Hmyns to the New Dawn“.
After three years of intensive work the eagerly awaitad successor „Abyssos“ now will be released, radically continuing the path of it’s predeccesor, from the archaic growls of doom up to the ethereal heights of Icarus’ flight, characterized by it’s fateful lyrics, melancholic guitar-melodies, powerful vocals, martial drums and overall driven by the Luciferian ghost of revolt. „Abyssos“ is an album of dark flickering beauty and heathen power.
The exclusive artwork was conceived by the well-respected artist Birthe Klementowski, known for her collaborations with Desiderii Marginis, :Golgatha:, Sala delle Colonne, Apatheia, Vortex and Dawn & Dusk Entwined.. $12.99

Ain Sopha - Aurora ( Old Europa Café: OECD053)
Re-release of the 1992 CD on Cthuhlu. An uneasy but brave selection of ‘cabaret songs’ that mixed in equal measure the words of the military display. Café society, and the canciones of the itinerant Italian street singer. Jangly, upbeat, downbeat, off key, melodic piano and guiat with Italiano vocals. A very controversial and politically incorrect album (if you speak Italian I suppose), talking about Italy during and after WW2! For those that wonder about Novy Svet’s influences, you need look no further than something like Aurora.. $14.33

Alfarmania - Skracken ( Autarkeia: ACD069)
Hard to believe this is Alfarmania's first foray onto a digital format, but here it is, 15 + releases into their discography. Post-mortem / power electronic depravity from northern Sweden, brimming with insanity, negative emotional charge and filthy technocratic dizziness. Crafted with primitive tools revealing claustrophobia syndrome among four walls of an asylum, the hell of chemical paradise and existential terror. Listening to this is indeed a harrowing journey - a single track, suffocatingly claustrophobic, and hopelessly bleak...a vision of horror unfolding before your eyes while an unseen figure screams at you from the shadows.. $13.33

Anenzephalia - Kaltwelt ( Tesco: Tesco089)
Triumphant return of one of the all time indisputable heavy weights of power electronics/death industrial. Anenzephalia has never been particularly prolific, which makes it all the much sweeter when something new comes along. Too soon to tell where I'd rank Kaltwelt in the hierarchy of Anenzephalia releases, but all the right ingredients are certainly present; pulsating, analogue based electronics, shit loads of deranged, atmospheric horror, and those classic spoken, ever so slightly proceed vocals, all meticulously crafted for maximum unease and discomfort. Never antagonistic and overtly aggressive, but always threatening underneath and overwhelmingly ominous. I always walk away from listening to Anenzephlia feeling just slightly off - like I've just taken part in some bizarre experiment where parts of my brain were probed and prodded, and perhaps just a little bit was left behind on the operating table.
Combines studio versions of often played live tracks and never before heard material, recorded between 2008 and 2011. Noehaem was tomorrow, a description of sterile and alienated monotony, of social cemetery peace and silence in that only the echoes of today's struggles reverberate. Kaltwelt will be present, commenting on the cries from that these echoes derive. It is another vain documentation of madness and disintegration that result from the public but mostly unperceived war between a hypnotized society and a yet sleeping state that is going to bring the terminal stagnation. Enjoy your last moves... Noehaem Untergrund Bewegung 2012.. $15.66

Atmosphere is highly obcure and keeps one waiting for climax that will never come. Approach is opposed to academic tape studies. ASVA & Philippe Petit - Empires Should Burn ( Small Doses: Dose113)
Collaborative project that opens with a sprawling and epic 23 minute piece of resonating drones and distant tonal thrums, with spoken word accompaniment courtesy of Edward Ka-Spel (Legendary Pink Dots). It's 4:30AM when I'm listening to it, and it's the perfect soundtrack for a dark and cold morning. I don't want to drop too obscure of a reference, but for those in the know, the build up and overall feeling and structure is very reminiscent of Contrastate's "Midnight in this Century" . Proceeding tracks are shorter and a bit more abstract, almost vignette like; ominous and suspenseful piano "tinklings" with drones and quiet textures and harmonies, and also feature vocal contributions from Jarboe (Swans), and Bryan Lewis Saunders. Didn't know what to expect with this one, but the results are surprisingly good. $11.00

Atrabilis Sunrise - Perverse Liturgy (Pouring Infection Deep Into The Soft Arms Of The Nöosphere) ( Raubbau: Raub016)
'Perverse Liturgy' continues the bad trip across raw and dark soundscapes that nobody makes more enjoyable than Padre P.C. This record runs like a freight train through your ears. Loaded with dark drones, maniacal vocals and all the rough industrial patterns we were longing for since the last release. Never too fast, never too slow, the tracks vary between ominous dark ambience spiced with noisy sampling and distortion to more old school, Swedish style death industrial in the vein of BDN and Megaptera, with a dash of analogue, Haus Arafna-style rhythms . The echoing vocals, distant or more pronounced, perfectly match this madness. Looking back on almost ten years of continuing success in this genre, the master of acid death industrial truly knows his trade: he serves us with 8 pieces making up almost an hour for us walking at the edge of sanity.. $15.50

Bisclaveret/Feine Trinkers Bei Pinkels Daheim - Both Sides of the Looking Glass 7inch ( Zoharum: Zohar031)

The release is a collaboration from Bremen's FTBPD and Gdansk's Bisclaveret, which began after their concert in London. A very haunting piece from Bisclaveret; rhythmic and bleak, with whispered vocals and dark, flowing textures. Blitzkrieg Baby - Porcus Norvegicus ( Neuropa: NRP35)
Norwegian industrial project Blitzkrieg Baby is like an ego without any sense of moral propriety. Blitzkrieg Baby’s music is depraved, debased, stylized, brutal, and merciless—not so much written as it is channeled into reality by Kim Sølve, Anders B., Bjeima, Petter Berntsen aka Plenum and Alan Belardinelli.
Dark, threatening, industrial and carrying traces of artists like NON, early Laibach, and SPK, you will never really know what to expect from one track to the next. “Porcus Norvegicus” ranges through a full spectrum of menace. From subtle and disconcerting to sledge hammer heavy, to homicidally disturbed, Blitzkrieg Baby is taking trophies, not prisoners. Concentrating more on visceral feeling than driving within the lines of any one genre, the music comes from a place of turmoil and suffering—with a wry, twisted smile never far away. Truly one of the more original and outwardly unique recordings I've heard recently - very composed and constructed, at times almost theatrical, and a real harkening back to something that would have been released in the mid-'90s, even if it sounds completely contemporary. Brethren - Alienated & Radicalized ( Freak Animal: FreakCD69)
One of the most anticipated albums of American power electronics/harsh industrial! With very few, yet outstanding. releases, Brethren has firmly proven to be one of the genre's most striking forces. Gathering both fanatic glorification and hostile opposition with his honest and to-the-point political message, 2005's "Savage Inequalities" finally has a follow-up full-length. "Alienated and Radicalized" delivers guaranteed Brethren. A solid 40-minute album with song after song of memorable and striking assaults. Each track consists of carefully constructed noise loops, rhythms, throbbing synthesizers, spoken word samples and trademark hyper- aggressive vocals. Well-structured and song-like assaults make each individual song stand strong. No song is clouded with muddiness and instead, each is sharp and clear, with noisy, ripping power. Vocals spit the words with clear articulation and each sound element is heard in its full energy. Nothing in this album is particularly vulgar or offensive. The message, language and artwork doesn't attempt to offend the enemy with tasteless provocations, but simply manifests the conviction and life mission of Brethren. The Long Dust signifies the first full length Caul recording for Malignant since 1998's "Light From Many Lamps' CD, and while, stylistically, Brett's sound has evolved, there's no question it has also matured, moving further away from the climatic drift of the early works, into more structured, composed realms, adding layers of noir-ish percussion and gentle guitar melodies to the arching tones and cinematic textures that define the Caul sound. This is music that speaks of grey skies and introspection...solemn, yet abounding with serene beauty.. $10.00

Caulbearer - Haunts CDr ( Peacock Window Recordings: PW01)
Debut release for this New Mexico/Texas based act brings forth some rather turbulent drones built upon manipulated guitar and field recordings. The sound here varies from ethereal and hypnotic to maxed out, full blown churn and pulsating swell, the tones and textures expanding outwards in a blossom of darkly hued colors and patterns. If you're looking to drift off peacefully, this may lure you in, but then wakes you up with a jarring kick to the ribs as the hive-like noise levels get ratcheted up a notch or two. My reference points are definitely Maeror Tri and Troum, but also IOS's dronier parts, and as the label says, Yellow Swans and Tim Hecker (whom I know in name only, but I'll take their word for it).. $10.66

Cauldhame - Wishful Beginnings ( Exitium Prod.: IOB002)
Two previously released demos compiled onto one tape, from this English newcomer, deftly operating in the field of heavy electronics and self-proclaimed death ambient. Pretty harrowing stuff - walls of deep, textured noise, blackened murk, and buried debris, remaining very atmospheric even as some of the tones seem to strain and crumble under immense pressure and weight. A steady stream of spoken word (all detailed in the liner notes) whisper underneath, adding a layer of sound and complexity to an already layered and complex work. If you could imagine a hypothetical hybrid of Gruntsplatter and Contrastate, you might begin to get an idea of what Cauldhame creates. Lmtd 50.. $10.50

Cory Strand - Village of the Damned: A Re-Interpretation 2CDr ( Occult Supremacy: OSP013)
From Cory Strand: "My rework of the soundtrack to John Carpenter's vastly under-appreciated remake of "Village of the Damned" is an exercise in melodic and ridiculously intense wallcraft alongside chillingly banal ambient environments, an attempt to create aurally the emptiness and malice hidden in the blank white eyes of the otherwordly children who lord over the film. Much like the film, these two discs eschew obvious violence in favor of something more malignant, suggestive, and ultimately distressing. The imagination creates its own semblance of horror, its own methods of dealing with the unknown, and its own recesses in which to crawl against the assault of insanity".. $10.00

DEATHSTENCH - Massed in Black Shadow ( Black Plagve: Infect11)
Debut full length from the Los Angeles based duo of Darea Plantin and John-Paul Whetzel, also known for their work in the misanthropic black-doom trio, Welter in Thy Blood.
Within their short discography, DEATHSTENCH has proven particularly adept incorporating elements of death industrial, dark ambient, doom, and black metal, and hideously transforming and molding them into a writhing mass of absolute filth and abject darkness. Built upon field recordings, scrap metal percussion, harrowing electronics, down tuned guitar & bass, and demonic vocalizations, the sound is both nihilistic and vile, rife with occult incantations, buzzing, distorted horror, and saturated walls of droning depravity that dissolve into roiling murk and hellish, blackened smear. Their latest installment, Massed in Black Shadow, is an impious communion summoning and invoking the soundtrack for all death to come. 6 tracks, totaling just over 45 minutes, guaranteed to deliver some of the most terrifying and purely misanthropic sounds you’re likely to find anywhere. “Bastards of the Black Flame” features additional sounds and effects by Cory Rowell of Demonologists, and all tracks are mastered by Billy Anderson (Neurosis, Sleep, Eyehategod, Crisis).

Diagnose: Lebensgefahr - Transformalin ( Infinite Fog: IF-24)
Project of Nattramn, whose ‘Death—Pierce Me’ album under the project name Silencer stand as a defining work in the suicidal black metal movement. Now, I love black metal, but I'm always suspect of black metallers doing the industrial thing. This album however, which originally dates back to 2005 when it was self-released, is pretty legit; horribly bleak and intensely psychotic, and very capable of navigating it's way through dark ritual ambient, power electronics, martial, and noise-influenced industrial, with ease and confidence. The result is at once schizophrenic yet cohesive, and quite overwhelming in it's negativity and nihilism- obviously the product of a disturbed and ingenious mind.
Though mostly instrumental, Nattramn does provide ‘narration’ from time to time with primarily clean vocals that range from manically impassioned to psalm-tone catatonia. Jewel box, with extensive booklet.. $15.66

"The Frigid Condition" is composed of 10 new songs uncovering the new, surprising face of the project; yet, it is not deprived of the typical elements that Marek Marchoff has managed to get us accustomed to via Different State's previous works. Their alchemical mixture of illbient, industrial and psychedelia is most visibly experienced on this particular album. Loads of new elements were added byVera Beren - the new band member.

Dissecting Table/Sektor 304 - Split CDr ( UPD: UPD091)
Real old school meets new old school! Sektor's 3 tracks are, as expected, epic; full on dirge and grinding machine noises playing out amidst wavering, unhealthy frequencies and lurching percussion. Less structured and generally more atmospheric than you'd find on something like Soul Cleansing or Subliminal Actions (and actually reminiscent of Anenzephalia in parts), yet retaining that Sektor sound you crave. En Nihil - The Approaching Dark ( Eibon: NIH087)
Prolific and well regarded act that was active for most of the '90s, En Nihil took a sabbatical until just recently, and has returned with a spate of tape appearances and splits, and now his first proper CD in well over a decade. Entre Vifs - Heavy Duty ( Influencing Machine: Influe02)
Originally released in 1989 by Cthulhu Records, Entre Vifs' debut tape remains a crucial release in the canon of Industrial/Noise. Led by Zorin (musician and visual propagandist in the legendary Le Syndicat), Entre Vifs created chaotic roars of noise with hand designed instruments resulting in one of the most distinctive sounding projects of that era. Influencing Machine is honored to present a new CD version so that this classic release can be available once more. Packaged in Digipack case featuring artwork/design by Zorin and includes a 4 panel insert.
"Of all the noise I've listened to, Entre Vifs is perhaps the only group who directly influenced my sound and technique. This is forward moving, fast paced and constantly changing noise. "Heavy Duty" revels in the sound of destruction, the tonal landscape collapsing in on itself and rebuilding in explosions of sound. It brings to mind an image of a building being concurrently raised and destroyed while jackhammers and machine guns compete for sonic dominance. If you love noise then you really need this in your ears." Rodger Stella/Macronympha. $12.50

First Law - A Future So Bright ( LOKI: LOKI58)
In its 20 years of existence -meanwhile the mastermind Andreas Wahnmann also has been active in several other musical projects- First Law released six full length CDs up to now and developed a trademark in sound research that is truly genre defying. The album title and the cover art for this magical 7th album stand in strong contrast to the musical content and the album manifests its ironical and deliberately conflicting nature right from the start. Deep and throbbing rhythmic patterns, endless layers of guitars droning and manipulated vocals are opposed by disturbingly beautiful melodies. The complexity of the recordings just emphasizes its depressing nature and takes the listener on a journey through sound and emotion. A Future So Bright is nothing less than an outstanding sound-scape that flows like a hallucinatory maelstrom and marks the darkest release of First Law so far.. $13.88

Although now primarily influenced by death industrial and power electronics, Heldentod looks to create the most suitable expression of its key themes, including ghosts, ancestor worship, human sacrifice, neolithic fertility rights, Iron Age religion, mediæval literature, unseen dimensions, inhuman intelligences, and all manner of Forteana.. $12.00

Hybryds - Mythical Music for the 21st Century ( Zoharum: Zohar041-2)
This is the second volume in the ongoing series of Hybryds reissues on Zoharum and it coincides with the 30th anniversary of artistic work of Sandy Nys and company. "Mythical Music from the 21st Century", the first full Hybryds release, collects tracks recorded between 1983-1986 scattered on various compilations. Yet they form the first representation of their venture into the world of sonic rituals and magic. Their perspective on sound still has not been imitated or copied and even after 30 years they still sound fresh. This new CD release contains extras: the unreleased live version of "Sacred Voices," performed live on Radio Centraal and an unreleased mix of "Octahedron" by the Alpha Project. The album has been digitally remastered from the original stereo cassette master. This is the ritual music at its best. Digipak.. $12.66

Hyena Hive - See Saw Sav Ann Ah! 7inch ( Angle Rec: AR0702)
Until now, Hyena Hive’s sonic imprint has been rarely captured on disc. In the beginning, they delivered a very intense, rich and most honest noise-rock sound… but after that, percussion vanished to give way to a sound with a more Power Electronics colour, whose presence is now well affirmed in Hyena Hive’s audio universe. To document this phase, the flamboyant and demented "See Saw Sav Ann Ah!" is issued in 7" format. Two relentless tracks, and by far one of the most abrasive releases from the .ANGLE.REC. camp. This is in the image of all their most recent live performances! Lots of intensity to spare for fearless ears! Ltd x 250 hand-numbered copies in a deluxe cardboard envelope sleeve.. $10.66

Infant Cycle, The - Drop-out Center ( Zhelezobeton: ZHB-XXXIV)
"Drop-out Center" is the anniversary album of The Infant Cycle project celebrating 20 years of the personal creative journey of the Canadian musician Jim DeJong which began in November 1992 after leaving the band Mind Skelp-cher. During this time Jim has recorded and released a massive amount of material both on his own label The Ceiling and on other respectable underground labels such as EE Tapes, Drone Records, Afe Records, etc. and this is his second full-length album on CD after "The Sand Rays" (Diophantine Discs, 2009). The album includes nine abstract compositions recorded with Jim's trademark approach. Using such sound sources as shortwave radio, vinyl surface, videotape, bird cage and also more "normal" instruments (bass guitar, electric mandolin, Korg Poly-800 synthesizer) he creates slowly drifting multilayered textures with sometimes unexpected stops and narration twists. Sharp crispy foreground sound is set off by gentle background waves of resonating feedbacks forming intelligent electroacoustic glitch / drone with scratchy tangibility, meditativeness and even a sort of romanticism. This is music that evokes imagination and easily paints images in the listener's mind. "Turn on!". $10.00

It still sounds fresh and interesting despite the fact that IVLab music has evolved into a different direction. 'Future Chaos' is a more dynamic and harsh face of Karol Skrzypiec. This is a dark ambient passage in the world of tribal and postindustrial elements. IRM - Anthology 2CD ( Autarkeia: ACD065)
Having started out in 1997 when Erik Jarl asked Martin Bladh to join him, 2012 sees the 15th anniversary of IRM. 15 years - incidentally the legal age of consent in their native Sweden - that have seen them mature from bedroom autodidacts to masters of the studio environment. Taking their cue from the confrontational sounds of BDN and Whitehouse on the tape debut, IRM have honed their sound by each album and eventually fleshed out the sonic tapestry by the addition of Mikael Oretoft on bass. By tapping into the mindsets of outsider artists/authors such as Mishima, Rudolf Schwarzkogler and Francis Bacon, their obsessions with pain, purity and beauty leaked into Bladh's personal lyrics. This aesthetic amalgamated with the volcanic eruptions of Jarl and Oretoft have set IRM apart as true originators in the diluted sea of contemporary power electronics. The box contains of 2 golden metalisation discs on digipack, 2 special protectors including box itself for discs and digi and 20 pages booklet. Lim. E 500. Disc contain a collection of live recordings, unreleased studio material, compilation appearances, as well as the Four Studies 10 inch, the 10 inch split with Skin Area, and more! Mandatory!. $27.00

The information, that I.R.O.N and Legionarii is the same person would be pretty good recommendation, but then we could ask why it isn't just next Legionarii album? All the more it is also martial industrial. But, the music on "Evolving" it's different than Legionarii recordings. It's pure domination of industrial and machines, in short - Legionarii is into spiritual sphere of war, while I.R.O.N is technical. And that's the album is. Iron Forest - Body Horror CD+Art Card Set ( Crucial Blast: Blaze20)
Iron Forest's Body Horror is the second full-length release from this new project from Midwestern industrial/experimental artist Brandon Elkins. Some might know Elkins from his previous project A Crown Of Amaranth, who released an excellent album of dark, futuristic heaviness and black-hole ambience as part of a Crucial Bliss series in 2005 as well as a short-lived collaboration called A Crown Of Light that had one album out on Italy's Eibon Records. Within the past year Elkins has re-emerged with a brand new outfit called Iron Forest that delivers with super-heavy industrial rhythms, mutated drone/dub experiments, and doom metal influenced riffcrush. The band released another disc earlier in 2012 on Paradigms called Pantechnicon that was issued in an extremely limited run; this follow-up Body Horror comes via the Crucial Blaze series and features the new album of music accompanied by a set of collage prints depicting various biological hallucinations that were all created by Elkins for this release.
The eight songs on Body Horror are forged from gleaming metallic drones, glitchy electronica and vast clouds of interstellar synthesizer that wind around fractured doom-laden riffs, rife with the sort of apocalyptic atmosphere that Godflesh exuded from their more experimental albums. Justin Broadrick's pioneering industrial metal is one obvious influence on Iron Forest's sound, though here the crushing guitars and solemn ambience are cracked and broken into strange splatters of percussive noise and dissonant dronescapes that evoke an altogether more warped vision of industrialized doom-tronics. The music is varied, ranging from the bizarre but ultra fuckin' heavy robotic dub-sludge of "Rust And Decay", "Prognosis" and "Mountain Of Teeth" (where blackened doom metal meets a hellish variation of Scorn's dystopian beatcrush), to the orchestral majesty and skittering percussion of "The Divide" and the abstract, bitcrunched rhythms of "Dead Batteries". Elkins abuses a bunch of dubstep tropes (the blown out speaker rattling bass tones, the vicious synthesizers, the fragmented rhythms), but what comes out doesn't sound like dubstep at all. There's hardly anything here that a sane person would consider "danceable". It's more of a chaotic, noise-damaged, dub-infested version of Skin Chamber's industrial metal, if that band had been obsessed with the experimental glitchery of Autechre. Combine that with Body Horror's obsession with Cronenbergian themes (mutation, deformity, etc), and you get a pitch-black brand of mechanized dread that wallows in a similar cyborg plasma-pool as bands like Wreck And Reference, Cloaks, Necro Deathmort, The Blood Of Heroes, and Author & Punisher.Released in a limited edition of four hundred hand-numbered copies, the Body Horror Cd comes in Crucial Blaze's signature clear dvd-style case with an insert card and a black folio (with black printing) that holds a set of gorgeously grotesque full color collage prints.. $10.00

Lackthrow - Release 2CDr ( Existest: EE15)
Lackthrow is a name most unknown to noise fans of today but Andrew Powell has been active and creating noise under several different guises – twit/ch, Internal Empty, A Hymn For Her – since 1990. The project has been alive and hyperactive for many years and time has seen it take many forms from experimental surrealism, or harsh Masonna-influenced cut up noise, to power electronics and back again. Even spanning into weird ambience, synth-pop and cybergrind influences.
With Lackthrow’s Release, Existence Establishment strives to present a cohesive collection of works from this underrated artist re-releasing a wealth of material, with the bulk of it having never formally seen the light of day before. Release is a 2 disc set spanning the outer reaches of sound, emotional noise, temper tantrums on tape, carefully edited blasts of noise, unadulterated improvisations, and enigmatic avant garde outings which are evidence of the spasms of an artist always on the edge yet never in the limelight and always searching for something unknown. Legion came as a surprising side-project in comparison to the Andrew Lagowski's (S.E.T.I.) regular tracks released up to that date. "False Dawn" was an excellent venture into the world of spacey dark ambient / electronica which might have served as a complement to the dense world of techno on Lagowski's early vinyl releases. 20 years on, this dusty classic has gained a well deserved reissue. Larvae - Exit Strategy ( Adnoiseam: ADN160)
Larvae's fourth album is a highly introspect and mesmerizing work which takes a step forward from the more electronic trilogy formed by "Fashion Victim", "Dead Weight" and "Loss Leader". Law-Rah Collective, The - Field of View ( Ant-Zen: Act282)
By now it should be common knowledge that no two albums by our Dutch friends of The [Law-Rah] collective are alike - their output is a constant journey of discovery. 'Field of View', the eighth full-length CD in their discography, is no exception. For the first time the collective wrote and produced the music as a trio: Bauke van der Wal - the original initiator of the project - is joined by Hiekelien van den Herik (member of the collective on the albums '1953' and '...as it is...') as well as Martijn Pieck (a.o. 'Solitaire', 'Inspiration', '[ans]werk' and the soundtrack of the documentary 'Verzet in Indië').
This collaboration resulted in an album which has the typical [Law-rah] signature: massive deep drones and minimalistic sound collages are accompanied by minimal sequences and (un)steady beats that blend into the alienating soundscapes or set the pace for memorably haunting, atmospheric melodies. in the vocal department Hiekelien proves herself to be an amazing singer, alternating between spoken word recitations as known from earlier [Law-rah] albums and one-of-a-kind songs.
'Field of View' delivers a new chapter in the history of this prolific project's output - a fascinating insight into different perspectives, exhibited in a surprising and captivating album. the whole view we have of things, how we observe, what we see ... what is reality?... is reality really what we see?. $13.99

Luftwaffe - Trephanus Uhr ( Lichterklang: LK014)
Reissue of Luftwaffe's 2004 album, featuring Boyd Rice (NON), Douglas P. (Death In June), and Richard Leviathan (Ostara). "Luftwaffe create effective industrial atmospheres through swathes of harsh electronic noise interspersed with sample and dialogue and declamated lyrics. The constant martial rhythms and occassional orchestral effects ensure easy comparisons with NON's epochal live recording "In The Shadow of the Sword". Several tracks adopt a harsher outlook... A folk based approach incorporates gentle flute but the vocals remain rooted in a masculine and stern manner. Ostara's Richard Leviathan delivers esotericism over acoustic guitar and spirited trumpet score... Douglas P.'s refined tones are set against a backdrop of acoustic guitars and kettle drums recalling early Death In June. Maeror Tri - Emotional Engramm ( Zoharum: Zohar034)
The reissue of a long-forgotten classic Maeror Tri album with stunning new artwork and newly remastered sound. Back in 1997, it turned out to be the last album by this experimental trio of German droners . During their nine-year existence, they recorded a handful of albums and cassettes with their unique mixture of minimalism, industrial, ambient and drone, exploring the brains of potential listeners. "Emotional Engramm” is Maeror Tri's most refined effort to date. After years of experimenting, the group came to a characteristic sound composed of layers of electrically/electronically-treated acoustic instruments, with their organic sound achieving it's most accessible form on "Emotional Engramm”. Clocking in at just under 80 minutes, the seven tracks presented here show Maeror Tri at its best.
The reissue is presented in a lavish 6-panel digipak designed by Marcin Lojek (Ibsen Design, New Nihilism label, Mantichora and Schmerz bands) with a foreword by Martyn Bates (Eyeless in Gaza). The album has been faithfully remastered by Lukasz Miernik (Dead Cat Mastering).. $12.66

Now Coma Detoxreturns with 3 massive tracks of crude, broken and grainy noisefilth. Coarse, lo-fi metal junks, crackling distortions, roaring violent vocals...a slowly moving rumble of wreckage. Very blunt barbarian approach to noise! Mania is known from a lot of releases. For example "GrotesqueMirth" on Filth & Violence and "Ultra-Negative" on Freak Animal. Maniacontinues in his unique style. creating something unusual from combiningtypical elements of throbbing & humming synthesizers, crispy metal junkabuse and fierce feedback with vocals and samples. Maurizio Bianchi/Mauthausen Orchestra - Material Modulations ( Old Europa Café: OECD165)
Second and final collaborative work by MB [Maurizio Bianchi] & MO [Mauthausen Orchestra], recorded before the premature departure of Pierpalo Zoppo, the man behind Maurhausen Orchestra (R.I.P.). I'm always a bit wary of releases like this, since they generally never deliver what you want or expect, at least based on historical output, and let's face it, both acts have been hit or miss with more recent output. So, I'm quite pleased to say, this delivers the goods, for the most part, with a roaring churn of distortion, factory din, loops, and atmospheric "noise" that's constantly in motion. A few other tracks aren't quite as dynamic - more wispy, piercing tones and singular frequency modulations, but still with that sense of decay.. $14.33

M.B. - Regel LP ( Urashima: UMA38)
One of Maurizio Bianchi's most representative works , ‘'Regel'' (originally released in 1982 by Mectpyo Sounds) is reissued for the first time in vinyl and remastered under the supervision of the Milanese artist. The record consists of two untitled tracks. Mostly track one is made up of manipulated noises with some synthesizer or theremin phrases added for detail and contrast. The second track is a bit more focused, with less noise, more recognizable melodic content and less invasive loops. The music is unlinear and effortlessly multilayered and the sound focuses on texture rather than structure. Here you can see M.B.'s early phase as a sick, cancerous organism devouring itself. The record has been pressed on 140 gr red vinyl with black label and black inner sleeve (with inside polyethylene plastic) and comes in a deluxe black silkscreen on red cardboard sleeve with the same layout of original sleeve, limited to 199 copies w/insert in luxury 160 gr ivory paper . Mind & Flesh - Martyr Generation ( Nuit Et Brouillard: Force007)
"Martyr Generation" is the first CD by the Oslo / Norway based musician Anders B. under the Mind & Flesh moniker. While initial recordings of his first industrial band, Katabol Process were done in summer 1996, Anders started to compose alone under the name Babyflesh around October 1998. Starting from that point, two full-length releases were recorded and produced: "Curiosity killed the Angel", CD-R on Slaughter Prod. in November 2002 and "New Wave of Cynicism", CD on Vendlus Records in February 2005.
Sometime in 2010, Anders B. decided to change the name into Mind & Flesh as he lost any connection with what could refer to "Babyflesh" as a name for a musical project. The nine tracks of "Martyr Generation" were recorded between 2005 and 2008. Among them two feature collaborations with other musicians.
The music of Mind & Flesh is a mix of dark & heavy analogue electronics and pounding rhythms with processed vocals. His sound can be filled under the Death Industrial genre, without any doubt. Hypnotic and powerful at the same time.Comes in a nicely designed three-panel digipack in a limited edition of 500 copies.. $13.00

Mors Sonat - Comforts in Atrocity ( Crucial Blast: CBR92)
Though the name may be new, those who explore the more terrifying sounds found at the intersection where black metal, industrial noise, power electronics and black ambiance meet surely know the minds behind this collaboration. Featuring Mories (of Gnaw Their Tongues / Aderlating / Cloak Of Altering / De Magia Veterum infamy) and Australian black noise/metal technician Nekrasov, Mors Sonat sounds little like their other projects, crafting a cold, hallucinatory strain of aural dread that draws from a strange mixture of twilight chamber music, ghastly death industrial sounds, harsh electronic noise and gleaming dark ambient, while tapping into the sort of psychic unease and violent chaos that will be familiar to fans of their previous efforts.
It's definitely a much more atmospheric and often subdued sonic terrain that Mors Sonat explores on 'Comforts In Atrocity'. Across the six long tracks, they blend together darkly gorgeous chamber music sounds (aided by guest cellist Aaron Martin,) with blasts of excoriating black noise, pools of cloudy dark ambiance, clanking industrial horror, and vicious bouts of power electronics-style abuse.
Recommended to fans of everything from Funerary Call and Nordvargr's blackened electronics, Shinjuku Thief's 'Witch Trilogy', and Cold Meat-style death industrial, the Cd edition presented in a six panel digipack.. $10.00

Navicon Torture Technologies - Your Suffering Will Be Legendary 2CD ( Malignant: TumorCD60)
This is not a return from the grave for Navicon Torture Technologies, but rather a proper re-issue of the bonus CD's that came as part of 2009's Gospels of the Gash boxset.
Consisting of 18 collaboration tracks and remixes, these two discs boast a tracklist featuring phenomenal artists both obscure and infamous, who have joined forces with NTT to construct an epic display of undulating drones and visceral screams.Once again, NTT blurs the lines between the brutish intensity of power electronics and introspective dark ambient contemplations.
The list of collaborators includes:Deutsch Nepal, Eidulon, Herbst9, Jarboe, Kristoffer Nystroms Orkester, The [Law-Rah] Collective, Troum, Aun, Black Sun, and many others.
Active since 1997, Lee Bartow has solidified himself as one of the foremost composers of angst ridden power electronics and dark ambient/industrial sounds. Following the 2CD set "Gospels of the Gash", Navicon was officially laid to rest, but Lee has since reincarnated himself in the highly regarded project, Theologian, where he continues to push the boundaries of extreme sonics.

Niemandsvater - Zeitenlos ( Lichterklang: LK008)
"Zeitenlos" represents a reflection about the aesthetic of time, transience and the consequential fate of mankind. Withal it is revealing the love for the idea of a forgotten felt and idealistic human greatness. The topics of the album twine mythically around an ideal temporality and temporal ideals and portray a quest for cultural and human beauty. With minimalistic classical music and some inspirations from the world of sounds of the Greek-Roman antiquity "Zeitenlos" forms an elegiacal and dreamy atmosphere. The vocals of Christoph Lotte, as the centre of the compositions, are accompanied on the piano and the sounds of lyre, trumpet, percussion instruments and subtle ambient effects. Nimh & Antikatechon - Out Hunting For Teeth ( Rage in Eden: Rage97)
I'll say this - the first track from this collaborative disc between Nimh (Giuseppe Verticchio of Hall of Mirrors) and Italian dark ambient artist Antikatechon is pure brilliance. One of the best tracks I've heard all year; dynamic and penetrating power drones that build to an intense climax of layered sounds and caustic vibrations, reminiscent of the best Navicon and Theologian work. Stunning, especially at high volume. The proceeding four tracks don't achieve the same level, but this is still a very solid release of organic textures, hypnotic loops, buried melodies, and passages of quiet ambience intersecting with deeper reverberations.. $13.99

Nimon - Drowning in Good Intentions ( Ant-Zen: Act281)
Keith 'Keef' Baker has been a musician for over 20 years and has worked in a very wide range of styles. His output of side projects since the last 'Keef Naker' release shows just some of the stylistic range. 'Sharps Injury': powernoise, 'ocdc': complextro, 'Crackpuncher': grindcore, even comedic ebm: 'Mandro1d'. Not to mention various micro-projects and collaborations.
But Nimon is something different, something much more personal. Written at a time just before and not long after the death of a close family member when nothing was soothing his soul except the intensely pure sounds of Brian Eno, Sunn o)), Stars of the Lid, Christian Fennesz and their likes. The intention behind Nimon was to create ambient music by deploying the limitless potential of the electric guitar as the only instrumentation, pouring the pain he was feeling into his playing and then tearing those recordings into pieces using sound design, reversing, pitch manipulation, time stretching and a whole world of both standard effects and maxforlive modulations resulting in deep, majestic ambient compositions, developing dense worlds of ethereal, dreamy atmospheres.
With 'Drowning in Good Intentions' Nimon manages the remarkable feat of channeling deep emotion into a sound that's uncompromisingly advanced and cerebral. A constant flow of superior, shimmering drones, melodic and cinematic with a dark, but sweetly sorrowful elegiac quality. 'Drowning in Good Intentions' is a simultaneously a trip into despair, grief and hope.. $14.33

Noise Receptor - Issue No. 1 ( Noisewerrrrke: NRJ01)
New magazine from Richard Stevenson (he of Spectrum magazine fame), operating on a smaller scale, but maintaining the quality of workmanship and print he established in the late '90s. Noise Receptor has been a blog for the last couple of years or so, and this new print venture constitutes the physical manifestation, but, in Richard's words, "also contains new interview and art content to differentiate it from the already published web-based reviews.Whilst noise receptor journal is not intended to replace the web-blog, it is however targeted at an audience who values the permanence of print media over the transience of web-content".
This tidy, well put together ( ‘perfect bound’ spine, with matte laminate, thick card stock cover') journal contains 56 pages of insightful, carefully worded reviews focusing mostly on the realm of dark ambient, power electronics, and death industrial, as well as a super long, in-depth review with Thomas Ekelund of Trepaneringsritualen, as well as a lot of his artwork.. $10.99

Nyodene D - Edenfall ( Malignant: TumorCD57)
Founded in 2008, Nyodene D has quickly risen in the ranks to become one of America’s premier death industrial/power electronics acts. Each release shows Nyodene D becoming stronger and stronger, capturing the essence of the true old school aesthetic, yet taking it to new realms of intensity and physicality.
The 6 tracks on Edenfall are rife with the threat of violence… harrowing, yet majestic in its scope, with scraps of heaving scrap metal and searing tones intersecting with walls of thick, corrosive synth noise and defiant vocals. What separates this from the pack though is its sense of composition and structure, even as it ratchets up into near impossible levels of ferocity, the sounds barely contained as they reach a fevered pitch. Tracks like Nihilation and Borne On Vulture’s Beak show the roots of some of Aaron’s influences, moving into a more unsettling, restrained style of European power electronics, channeling Ex.Order and IRM, with a slower, more surreptitious attack. As a whole, this has to be considered one of the more essential heavy electronic releases ever released under the Malignant banner.
Features appearances by Shift, Sky Burial, and Rope of American war metal band Prosanctus Inferi and supreme death metal band Father Befouled. Comes in a full color digipak with lyrics and booklet, with photographs from Stephen Petrus and layout and design courtesy of Andre Coelho of Sektor 304.
In the coming weeks, this will also be available as a special, limited edition 200 foil printed microboard boxset featuring a second disc of collaborative tracks between Nyodene D and Portugal’s Sektor 304. You can choose to buy Edenfall by itself at this point, and then buy the boxset at a discounted rate once it becomes available.. $11.00

Organisation Toth - The Living Forces of Evil ( Rage in Eden: Rage89)
After several years of silence, Organisation Toth points out, that it is still active. The music on the album is not "nice" martial, there are no neoclassical notes, no clear structures, no bombastic melodies. In return, we get a raw industrial sounds located in the area of achievements of the legendary project Turbund Sturmwerk. Howling sirens, chaotic rhythms, noises and creaks make feeling of confusion and strong sense of unspecified anxiety. The album is dominated by austerity, the sounds are sharp and prickly. Oyaarss - Smaida Greizi Nakamiba ( Adnoiseam: ADN163)
If the core of this artist's material, his love for merciless analog distortion, claustrophobic atmospheres and rust-filled drones, is still the focus of these nine tracks, a more palpable melancholy (or would it be misanthropy) pervade through his collaborations with three other musicians. The piano and strings of such tracks as "Vienaldzigo parmainu muzika" ("Music of irrelevant changes"), "Nazabeistis" ("Be not afraid") and "Skrandas" ("Scrap") add a sense of urgency, of flight and threat to the otherwise more monolithic and bleak sonic architecture which is Oyarss. Phragments - New Kings and New Queens ( Malignant: TumorCD58)
The first new release from Phragments since 2008’s Earth Shall Not Cover Their Blood should be looked upon as a special, stand alone release, devoted not to the more daunting neo-classical atmospheres that make up the majority of Phragments' discography, but to something much darker and abstract; one long track, broken up into 6 chapters of slowly evolving landscapes of black and grey drones, sparsely interrupted by orchestral swells of golden light. And while this is indeed a more minimalistic approach to recording for Matej, in typical fashion, it is also very detailed and painstakingly composed, flowing seamlessly from one point to another over its 32 minute time frame. In terms of genre, this is pure orchestral dark ambient – bleak and solemn, yet with a certain calmness and emotionality, becoming almost sacral and poignant as it unfolds. Raison D'Etre - Apres Nous Le Deluge ( Eternal Pride: EPP018)
The dark, atmospheric and energetic mix of choirs, strings, various Fx sounds, heavy drums and tribal sections makes this the seed for the Raison d'être sound trademark that begun with the album 'Prospectus I' in 1993. Released in 1992, 'Aprés nous le Dèluge' became the first official output from Raison d'être when it went available on cassette on the Cold Meat Industry subsidiary label Sound Source.
For the first time, 'Aprés nous le Dèluge' is now available as a complete album on CD, with bonus tracks. The original 2-channel analogue only recording was rejected because of the many flaws in the recording quality and mixing balance. To be able to present the best possible sound quality the only way was to go through the process of restoring, re-recording and mixing the material. The reduxing process was extensive and the intention was to recreate the energy and feeling of the original version but still making it well balanced and clear in the mix. Also included are four remixes from an early attempt to recreate the whole album. Only seven of the eleven original tracks album was possible to restore and remix at that time (1995), and with far from satisfactory result. The four selected mixes from 1995 are the ones that differ most compared to the original versions, that's why they are included. In addition there is a previously unreleased track from the same period of time.. $14.88

Raison D'Etre - Collected Works ( Infinite Fog: IF-30)
'Collected Works' is a collection album containing tracks between 1999 and 2010 taken from various compilations or other external projects. Despite that, these tracks form together a unity like if they were material for a conceptual album and present a memorandum of a past. Death, decay, melancholia and sadness are the common attributes and this is also beautifully rendered in the artwork images by Martin Bladh (IRM, Skin Area). His "premature death masks" sequence is based on different aging faces of Peter Andersson and works as the perfect facade for this kind of sonic journey and exposure.. $14.77

Robe. - Bleak ( Crucial Blast: Blaze01)
Seventy-five minutes of rumbling, creeping ambience and oozing, blackened bottom end raked with the blare of distant horns, smeared trumpets echoing across a vast ocean of black sludge, evil screeching violins time-stretched into endless drones, an immensely oppressive and threatening atmosphere drifting over formless glacial guitar/bass grind like plumes of pungent black smoke. It's like hearing corroded, distressed blasts of orchestral sound, broken and warped BM guitars and clanking machinery rotting beneath massive waves of low-end heaviness; the same reference points that I used for their Remains Of A Burning World apply equally here (Abruptum's Casus Luciferi, Neuntoter Der Plage, and Aderlating's most atmospheric moments), but leaning even more towards a sort of surrealistic industrial nightmare.. $9.00

Rome - Fester CDEP ( Trisol: TRI457)
Festeris a ritual fight with one’s own personal demons, a journey not devoid of self-derision. These twilight songs are like a glimpse into a world of otherness. Rome was founded on forward motion („Bewegung entsteht durch Haltung“) and like a true moloch it expels its dead. With 8 critically acclaimed and remarkable (concept) albums in as many years, Rome have built a considerable following in the world’s darker musical scenes. Yet, the myth of this Rome is cast in the future tense. This Rome remains vibrant and far removed from the shorthand of conventional imagery, from the distortion of nostalgia – the inarticulate contempt for the present and fear of the future. On Fester this contempt is quite articulate and one can taste the fear that lies at the root of it all. This record brings Rome back to the city, back to the gutter and into the actual world of its author, Jerome Reuter: a world where the sacred and profound, history and eternity, man and god remain completely separated. Musically Fester offers a mixture of what might be termed Murder Folk and Junky Ballads, far removed from the martial drum beats and retrosampling – yet more anger-fueled than ever before. Featuring two tracks from the upcoming album Hell Money (in an exclusive alternate version), one exclusive track and a stripped-bare remodeling of the Rome classic „Le Vertige Du Vide“ –done Fester-style!. $13.00

Rome - Hell Money ( Trisol: TRI458)
„Hell Money“ is different. You’ve probably known ROME as an entity creating an invigorating meta-political, para-religious universe, functioning according to its own code and incorporating all kinds of elements from history to philosophy and musical expressions into one catchy collection of songs within an industrial-ish, brainy collage. „Hell Money“ is different. You’ve most likely heard Jerome’s voice as coming from the depths of pan-European wisdom, toying with poetic elements from expressionism to post-modernism, with each word of poetry sucking you way more into a sweet world of oblivion, a soothing chanson crooner indebted to the traditions American and European folk. „Hell Money“ is different. You’ve come to love ROME’s concept collages, shedding new light on the realities of the world and its history, whilst giving a voice to the downtrodden. „Hell Money“ is –yet again– different. „Hell Money“ is an emotional tour-de-force through the twisted inner workings of a tormented individual. A journey into a heart of sadness, where greed, addiction and self-immolation have taken their toll on sanity. The songs remain fragmentary and crude. The voice on this album is not the voice of reason, it is an individual unashamed, yet deeply tormented by the demons that have come to haunt it. The music is built primarily by an anger-driven acoustic guitar and a voice bereft of poetic hipness. No martial drums, no retro-sampling, but drums and sampling nonetheless. „Hell Money“ is sparse, crude, intimate, sick... and ultimately honest.. $14.33

RU-486 - Hook and Barb Pt. 1 3inch CDr ( Destructive Industries: DI042)
3" inch CDs don't sell worth shit around here, which I sort of understand, but then, you get something like Hook and Barb, and well, if you're into power electronics and don't get this because of the format, that's your fucking loss. 2 tracks clocking in at nearly 21 minutes showcasing further steps into the project’s now more mature style. The first track is a 9 minute piece built around a syncopated, looping rhythm, augmented byreverbed drenched, almost shamanic vocals and a buzzing, pulsating drone. Collectively, it's incredibly hypnotic...ethereal and intoxicating, yet ominous and powerful. Definitely has a mid-era Genocide Organ vibe to it, and if it's indicative of what RU-486 will be doing in the future, I will be paying serious attention. The 2nd track is a collaboration with Gordon Lazarus of Defiler and Unit 371 fame. More traditional heavy electronics here... a blackened industrial steamroller full of rotten undertones and a true pairing of two mad minds engaged for battle. You won’t survive this fight…. $6.00

Sacher Pelz - Cease to Exist LP ( Urashima: UMA50)
Before starting the complex and compelling production of many records and tapes in the early eighties under the M.B. trademark, Maurizio Bianchi was documenting the new music scene writing essays and reviews for independent magazines. It was August 1979 in Milan, Italy and his sound was strengthening when he felt the time had come to prove his desire for something new. So he started his first solo project, under the name Sacher-Pelz. He assembled concrete equipment and during the following few months, four C60 magnetic tapes were created. 'Cease to Exist' , his third tape, was recorded between December 1979 and January 1980. Tracks remastered from analog tape with supervised by Maurizio Bianchi. The record has been pressed on 140 gr black vinyl with black label and black inner sleeve and comes in a deluxe silver silkscreen on black cardboard sleeve, limited to 99 copies w/insert in luxury 160 gr ivory paper.. $19.66

Sacher Pelz - Venus LP ( Urashima: UMA48)
Recorded by Maurizio Bianchi as Sacher-Pelz, between October and November 1979, Venus is the second self-produced tape of 'musique concrète'. “The term “ concrète ” comes from the latin “concretum” which means ”condensed, hardened, coagulated”, and applying this concept to the sonorous framework, the final result is to obtain a dense, curdled, clotted sound in which every liquid particle has been transformed into a compact structure which evokes atavic dissonant fossilizations. Tracks remastered from original analog tape with supervised by Maurizio Bianchi. Sala Delle Colonne - Il Destino della Orchestra Aurora ( Old Europa Café: OECD166)
Limited edition of strictly 300 copies! In his symbolic title already declines his strong intentions, with the word “Destino” that can be translated either with "Destiny" or with "Doom". We can read it as "The Destiny of Aurora Orchestra", when on Sept. 8, 1943, during the Second World War, the musicians were divided (someone followed the fascist Republic of Salò, others went with the Partisans), to symbolize and remember the tragedy of separation in Italy that followed the end of fascism and the outbreak of civil war that put brothers against brothers. And we can listen to it as "The Doom of Aurora Orchestra", following the neoclassical martial orchestration in doom key adopted by Sala delle Colonne on some tracks, an "orchestral doom" like the evolution of the style used on the previous album “XX A.D” (Cold Meat Industry). Another great leap in quality and innovation of this eclectic Italian artist, by now well known even outside the neoclassical / martial world in which it was - so far - located.. $14.33

Shinjuku Thief - Medea ( Dorobo: Dorobo018)
While the Witch Triolgy were certainly benchmark releases , free from the thematic restrictions of those releases, Shinjuku Thief really hits the mark here, with what may just be their best work ever. The palate has been expanded, the noise comes in, the drama hits new heights, and the sheer power and beauty is beyond belief. Originally composed for a controversial staging of the classic greek tragedy, "medea" is Shinjuku Thief's most dramatic, dynamic and sinister work to date. Notwithstanding its extreme violence, it might also be one of their most beautiful. Fragile melodies sung by boy sopranos float above demonic choirs and malevolent orchestras only to be ripped apart by screaming sheets of industrial noise. Oscillating between lush musical seduction and a level of brutality as yet unprecedented across the band's backcatalog, "medea" will appeal to fans running the gambit of Dead Can Dance, Raison D'etre and In Slaughter Natives in one corner to Merzbow, and Brighter Death now in the other. Just plain great.. $9.00

In 1993 Shinjuku Thief released "The Witch Hammer" - a soundtrack to a dark orchestral world brimming with sinister intent and kinetic malevolence. "The Witch Hunter" (1995) continued the journey, threading surreal gypsy-like fringes to the classical/gothic blend. The tripartite structure of "The Malleus Malleficarum" (the inquisitor's handbook, on which the albums were based) suggested an imminent close to the trilogy. Blending the lush sweep of Raison D'etre, the epic grandeur of In Slaughter Natives" and a surreal violence to his sound design closer in places to musique concrete than dark ambience, Shinjuku Thief delivers on all counts.. $9.00

Sky Burial/Self - Split 10inch ( Peripheral Records: PR011)
I've gotta give props to the UK's Peripheral Records for coming on strong, managing to amass a nice collection of releases in their short history, further solidified by this split 10" release featuring the well known Sky Burial, and Self, the more atmospheric project of John Balistreri of Slogun fame. Two strong tracks from both, with my personal preference being the Sky Burial piece - a blackened ambient track full of rust and serrated edges, corrosive textures, and an overall grim and bleak vibe. I read somewhere that Self is influenced by the early CMI works, but I actually find more in common with Propergol's mellower moments, at least in the primary use of sampled conversations playing over a bed of dreamy ambience and gently looping chimes and mechanical whir.. $14.33

S.Q.E. - 5+4 ( Silken Tofu: STX16)
SQE. is the moniker of J Greco, living and working in New York. Active in the electro-acoustic/experimental scene since the mid-1990s, he founded Smooth Quality Excrement together and collaborated with such artists as Ure Thrall, Paul Lacosta and Michael Hensley (Blood Box, Yen Pox), before concentrating on his solo material as SQE.
As SQE, J. Greco has collaborated with the likes of Amber Asylum, Tony Wakeford and Alan Trench & Tracy Jeffery (Orchis/Temple Music). This resulted in releases on Old Europa Cafe, Drone Records and Anticlock Records. With ‘5+4’, J Greco takes his work to a completely different level, perhaps more accessible sounding but still with its necessary hooks and experimental sounds.
Stylistically, it might surprise some (quite a few) people, with its contemporary electronic sounds and dub influences. Armed with effects, acoustic instruments and the lovely voice of Tracy Jeffery, SQE has made the soundtrack to some hazy, warm summer nights, combining this warmness with a slightly fuzzy mood and an at times cold 80s feel.. $11.66

Swanika - Volkhoven ( Pflicht: Pflicht051)
Volkhoven is Swanika’s 2nd full length – a full-on confrontation with the deepest abyss of human psyche, based on incidents impossible to comprehend. The album is fueled by fierce powerful noise blasts and operates as a numbing sonic purgatory. While Swanika’s hellish debut 'Hotel' was based on the fictional horror of 'The Shining', this album is based on the very real horror of the killing spree of Volkhoven, a rural community on the outskirts of Cologne. On June 11th, 1964, invalid pensioner Walter Seifert set to take revenge on the authorities and aimed for the weakest victims he could find: the children of the same primary school he had visited himself. He entered the school grounds with a self-built flame thrower and a lancet. In the only fragmentarily reconstructed course of his amok run he severely wounded 20 children, and killed eight, as well as two teachers. Swanika’s 'Volkhoven' serves as a documentary for an event largely forgotten, and follows the sequence of what happened on that dreaded day as close as possible: the first track '11.06.1964 8:54 uhr' is a 13 minute collage of playing children’s voices, bass/guitar lines, whispered vocals (proclaiming someone wants to kill), eerie synthetic backdrop and occasional metallic rhythms, altogether quite surreal and rather accessible, with the noise building up steadily. The forecourt to hell seems almost likeable, but then… in the end of the track one hears the whispered names of the ten victims to come, and the unthinkable starts at '11.06.1964 9:06 uhr' - 53 minutes of purifying, horrifying noise, divided into ten sections of five minutes, each dedicated to one of Seifert’s victims, plus a short outro. This mirrors the fact that what had happened was quickly suppressed in the public’s memory and never gained the notoriety of similar incidents, possibly because Seifert was beyond question paranoid and schizophrenic, and he never went to court for his action, as he had poisoned himself lethally that very day. The elements included in Swanika’s noise opera are harshest feedbacks, punchy rhythms, fierce guitar drones, screamed vocals and other shredded sonic fragments. 'Musically' this is not an inch short of other masters of noise, may it come from Japan or elsewhere. 'Volkhoven' comes in a black foldout cardboard cover with silver printing, depicting the flame thrower Seifert used, as well as rare pictures of the burnt school barracks. Excruciatingly real, Swanika again propel you towards the heart of darkness.. $14.77

T.A.C. - Chaosphere ( Old Europa Café: OECD170)
Finally available for the very first time, exactly 15 years from its completion, here it is T.A.C.'s lost album "Chaosphere". Recorded between November 1997 and February 1998 in New York City, "Chaosphere" was planned to be the sequel of "Apotropaismo" (also out on OEC) disclosing, in typical T.A.C. style, the "other side" of that album: gone were the lush and varied instrument array leaving room for a grey and menacing cloud of analogue electronics and sparse ambient samples.
For this realization T.A.C. consisted of band mastermind Simon Balestrazzi alone, working mostly on his freshly rescued VCS3 synthesizer and a few other devices and under the heavy influence of Andrej Tarkovskij's masterpieces Solaris and Stalker.Due to Balestrazzi sudden relocation back to italy the master tapes lay in a box for several years and after that even some format issues prevented them from being retrieved. Until now. So finally here is Chaosphere and you can hear once again T.A.C. visionary and evocative signature sound again."Chaosphere", the follower to "Apotropaismo", will finally be released on OEC.Pure analogue industrial-ambient of the old era.. $13.66

Theologian - Finding Comfort in Overwhelming Negativity ( Handmade Birds: HB047)
This four-song ep (more like a full-length album: each track clocks in at a minimum of 11-15 minutes in length) was recorded concurrently with the forthcoming full-length, The Chasms of My Heart (Crucial Blast). Like that album, there is much more emphasis on rhythmic elements here, as opposed to strictly ambient textures. Drawing inspiration, in part, from certain artists that came to light during the brief “witch house” craze of 2011, Bartow wanted to see what his version of that music might sound like, filtered through Theologians’s death industrial lense. The end result is quite beyond the realm of dance music trends, but the influence is there. Hypnotic and deep, more than saliently dark, there is still plenty of atmosphere.
The packaging features incredible photography by visual collaborators JL Joseph Beaulieu (photography), Esther Rosenstein (makeup and prosthetic effects), and model Dessa Fell, along with imagery by Brooklyn artist Karlynn Holland. Mastered by James Plotkin, presented in a full-colour, 4-panel DVD digipak.. $10.66

Theologian - The Chasms Of My Heart ( Crucial Blast: CBR98)
On Theologian's debut album for Crucial Blast The Further I Get From Your Star..., Leech established a new trajectory for his unique brand of pitch-black, rhythm-heavy industrial music that he'd previously explored with Navicon Torture Technologies. Under this new name, the power electronics and death industrial influences were merged into even darker, more majestic sounds, crafting something that was significantly more atmospheric than his work with NTT, while also reaching into new extremes of experience. On Theologian's latest, The Chasms Of My Heart, this sound is perfected, incorporating more melody and percussion into the long, oppressive dead-world ambience and pummeling electronic doomscapes, and it's one of the best albums that Leech has brought us.
Chasms opens with what may be Theologian's most stirring and evocative piece of music to date, a monumental end-time dirge titled "Abandon All Hope" that starts off as a swirling ocean of blackened synthesizer roar before morphing into the sound of pounding metallic percussion and skull-rattling bass frequencies. At first, it's the sort of pitch-black apocalyptic death-synth heaviness that Theologian has long claimed as its own, but when the layered vocals begin to pour in, soaked in distortion and climbing skyward in a gloriously miserable multi-part harmony above an eerie minor-key hook, this heaviness is transformed into something new. Like some kind of hellish fusion of industrialized shoegaze and thunderous power electronics, "Abandon All Hope" reveals a new side to Theologian's black-hole sound that is explored further throughout these eight tracks.
There's no shortage of Theologian's trademark black ambience, though. The frantic clanking rhythms on "We Can't All Be Victims" becomes a backdrop to a maelstrom of monochrome drone and howling demonic noise, obscuring the nightmarish cacophony of choral voices and screaming feedback and epic strings buried deep below; and "Starvation Is A Legitimate Weapon Of War" appears as an ocean of abyssal low-end churn and rumble that spreads out into infinity, leading into the crushing orchestral power of "My Body Is Made Of Ash...I Live As Ash", where titanic distorted synth-pulses echo up from vast, lightless depths and achingly beautiful strings drift in on clouds of kosmiche shimmer, evoking images of monstrous crematoriums belching smoke and cinder into the skies, extinguishing the sun as raging vocals rise and war-drums begin pounding relentlessly in the blackness.
This album also has some of Theologian's most celestial music, like on the deep-space power electronics transmissions of "Bed Of Maggots" and the final track, both of which begin to resemble the sound of Tangerine Dream blasting out of the heart of a dead black star.
Every track on Chasms - from the more minimal abyssal dronescapes to the thunderous percussive power of the opener - exudes a kind of dark majesty, perfectly blending in the vague orchestral sounds (strings, choral voices, synthetic horns) with the more abrasive and noisy textures that seep from every corner of the album. It's one of the finest slabs of apocalyptic electronic / industrial music that I've ever heard, and certainly a new high point in Leech's long career in the PE/industrial/noise underground.
The CD release of Chasms comes in a six-panel DVD-size digipack illustrated with Leech's striking artwork. The Chasms shirt is a double-sided design printed in grey/black inks.. $10.00

Theologian & The Vomit Arsonist - Nature is Satan's Church CDr ( Oppressive Resistance: Resist01)
After two years in the making both Lee Bartow and Andy Grant deliver one of the most compelling yet dismal releases of modern time, bringing forth a quality and darkness unimaginable, and further more must be experienced to truly grasp such an emotional thought provoking journey into fear, torment and an almost endless anguish...Inspired by a mutual obsession with Lars von Trier's magnum opus, ANTICHRIST. This is the result...Pro CD-R housed in full color 4 panel digi pack limited to 100 copies. $10.00

The Vomit Arsonist - Go Without ( Assembly of Hatred: AOH08)
“Three years after the last full length, “Wretch”, and after a series of limited cassette releases, The Vomit Arsonist returns with his most recent full length, “Go Without”. Depressive, bleak, and monotonous electronics. Clanging, ripping scrap metal noise. Maddening, insane vocal work…. “Go Without” is a semi-concept album about spending a near-lifetime in the throes of dependence to psychoactive drugs. This is a look in the mirror. This is letting you know who you really are. There is no escape from the truth. Lmtd 500 copies, in 6 panel digipak, with booklet.. $13.50

Thorofon - New Heroes Essentials ( Klanggalerie: Klang168)
"New Heroes" was the third and last album by Thorofon's first incarnation. Released as a double LP by United Manipulation Broadcasting in 2005, it was the third part of the Circle of Power Trilogy. After its release Thorofon ceased to exist, only to come back in 2011 with the album "Exkarnation". For this re-issue, the band have chosen the best tracks from the double album, feeling that it was a little too long on first release. As with the previous CDs, rare bonus tracks have been added in their place. The final step in our Thorofon re-issue programme and again a must-have for everyone interested in classic Industrial sound.
Here's my original review of the 2LP, for what it's worth:With their first couple of releases, Thorofon established themselves on as predecessors to Haus Arafna and Genocide Organ. Since then, they’ve re-invented themselves, firmly capturing the essence of the ‘80s industrial music, yet expanding upon that into a unique hybrid of minimalist-electro synth and power electronics. Very heavy on the ‘Leicheinschrei’ era SPK tip here (though the November Novelet and Haus Arafna comparisons can be made), with pulsating, minimal beats, cold machine sounds, ill sounding frequencies, dry, spoken vocals, and a whole host of unsettling, apocalyptic vibes. Even as this takes a huge tip from the past, this is, and should be the future of power electronics. $16.99

Transistorwald - Luzifers Hofgesind CDr ( UFA Muzak: UFA55)
Esoteric dark ambient from yet another mysterious gem in the UFA Muzak catalog. Illusory and haunting soundscapes, at their best when channeling the nostalgic, flowing atmospheres of Les Joyaux. Other times, this is more cosmic and ethereal, with warm synth beds and darkened melodies.. $11.00

Trees - Sickness In ( Crucial Blast: CBR102)
Sickness In is the third album from Portland’s most wretched, Trees. Following their similarly abject slabs of feedback-doused horror and quasi-formless dirge Lights Bane and Freed of This Flesh on Crucial Blast, the two-song full-length is a slowly rotting heap of droning, slow-motion death-doom riffs decomposing into clouds of black amplifier hum, shrieking voices and tortured screams drifting against the glacial roar of smoking amp stacks and short-circuiting hardware. This time around, the band drops some of their most leaden, majestic riffs yet into a slow-motion filth-storm. Massive, saurian doom rhythms slip way out of the confines of anything resembling a “groove,” deep into rumbling fields of charred, ritualistic chanting and Abruptum-like states of psychotic noise.. $10.00

Treha Sektori - Endessiah ( Cyclic Law: 51st Cycle)
Treha Sektori means "the place where they fall", formed in 2005 from a feeling of absence, to express through instinctive language and silent odes a falling towards the Sun. SOLVAH. SEVERAH. SOLEMNH (Where can we learn how to die, when soil became sky ?). "Endessiah" is for the end of movement, literally meaning "to let go everything". When the mind ceases to respond to the physical world around him. Endessiah was built in doubt, fear, self-beating, screams, smiles and euphoria. Maybe more in reclaim for light, but always face down. The album was composed while searching for a certain state before recording anything, to realise what will be recorded, not as an inspiration, but a recording of the moment. No keyboards were used and a predominance of voices and strings instruments (guitars, esraj, polynesian mandoline, banjo...) were utilized with a will of fading every sources into a distinctive sound mass. Endessiah comes from a surge of feelings, capturing what came to be seen, and trying to determine if it was real or not. A constant will of searching for something "alter", something, some where else. "To let go of everything".. $12.77

Ultra Fuck - Sex at the Maly Trostenets LP ( Jartecknet: Jart16)
Originally released as a private cassette in 2007 and later re-released the same year on Thorax. After returning to this cassette repeatedly during the years we felt it needed to be presented to a wider audience. Sex at the Maly Trostenets presents two longer pieces of industrial tape loop works with a dry and uneffected analogue song. Never harsh or aggressive but rather focusing on texture and atmosphere. Cold, lo-fi machinery that relentlessly keeps pounding. Always minimal but never boring. The delicate ruggedness of Sex at the Maly Trostenets is simply something you rarely encounter these days. Far away from the contemporary lo-fi genre where lo-fi is not mere a description of recording technique but also embodies an idea of poor musical standards. Recording is retrieved from original tape master making it more detailed and rich in sound than previous releases. Carefully mastered for vinyl. Comes with bigger inlay based on the original cassette artwork." - Järtecknet. Ultra Fuck is Dan Johansson of Sewer Election. Edition of 200 copies.. $22.00

Verdant - Sincerity ( Existest: XVII)
Verdant is Zach Adams, who is also the man behind BKPR, the esoteric and obtuse harsh noise project of relative obscurity. I can see why Egan of Xiphoid Dementia liked and released this - like his own work, this defies categorization, and expertly navigates it's way through a massive array of sounds, from the violent and brutish, to the more surreal and emotive, utilizing samples, spoken word, insanely intense vocals, and a ton of other noises and textures. A really complex arrangement here, which at it's most basic level, would probably be defined as power electronics, but that's a simplification of what Verdant creates. For fans of Xiphoid Dementia, Navicon Torture Technologies, Iron Fist of the Sun. The album is limited to 200 copies in a full-color 4 panel digipak. Recommended.. $11.00

Vladimir Hirsch - Missa Armata - Invocationes ( Ars Benevola Mater: ABM44)
This album contains two thematically similar works: the original version of the battle Mass "Missa Armata" (Mass in Armour") and "Invocationes", a cycle of musical prayers. Both works belong to the larger main directional scope of Vladimír Hirsch's creative perimeter. In a musical context, they represent the confrontational nature of his music. The character of rites is the main axis of both compositions. As such, both projects fit naturally together. "Missa Armata" (1999) offers a highly structured industrial sound combined with classical instrumentation and choirs, achingly electrifying noises and power-electronic force and energy. "Invocationes" (2001) is a cycle of 4 ritualistic musical prayers, but the overall character structurally aims more towards dark ambient, with immersive emotional perceptions. Werra - MMI-MMV ( Lichterklang: LK010)
While the German Neofolk was in it’s early days, the year 2001 saw the foundation of the German neofolk duo :werra:. Over the next couple of years several songs saw the light of the day, all written at several bonfires within nature’s palm. They were recorded and reworked between the years 2003 - 2005 and due to private circumstances it took some more time before some of them were used for a number of compilations which gained a lot of interest. Now, eleven years after :werra.’s foundation, the debut "MMI-MMV" is finally released. The eight songs reveal the spirit of the early German Neofolk scene; a return to the traditions of our ancestors as well as the search for own cultural identity and the longing for a new, and hopefully better world. Musicaly and concept-wise, :werra: can be seen in the same context that characterised the early releases of Forseti and Darkwood.. $12.00

Worms of the Earth - Azal'Ucel ( Industry 8: I8-06)
New release for this Washington D.C. based dark electronic project that should open some eyes - high quality, richly textured atmospheres that come off sounding like they'd have fit right in with the mid-era (heyday?) CMI roster, when acts like Desiderii Marginis, Sanctum, and Sephiroth were just hitting. You know the sound - melancholy and desolate, yet lush and layered, a touch of gothic romanticism to go along with the distant industrial clangor and meditative, ritual percussion. Even the requisite hallowed choir makes an appearance or two. Terrific design and packaging in an arigato-style sleeve with a 1-color letterpress print. Mastered by Robert Rich and limited to 300 hand-numbered copies.. $11.66

Xiphoid Dementia - Secular Hymns ( Malignant: TumorCD61)
Actively recording since 1999, Egan Budd’s Xiphoid Dementia has become known in the underground and in numerous live situations for creating meticulously crafted yet hard to define, post industrial soundscapes, navigating between textured ambience, scourging noise, junk metal , field recordings, and surreal atmospheres, sometimes all in one track. Still, there’s a hyper-focus here that ties it altogether, and makes for something that is dynamic, unpredictable, and clearly ambitious. For those that question if there’s originality left in industrial music, Xiphoid Dementia answers with a resounding yes, though not so much in the sounds themselves, but rather how they are layered and placed.
The first track, Abortion Rites, manages to capture the essence of Xiphoid right off the bat; starting calm enough with a singular drone and a rising apocalyptic choir, only to be eventually engulfed in a firestorm of brain rattling noise and straining machine vibrations, before shifting gears into sprawling cosmic drones, deep bass drops, and processed vocal squall. Subsequent tracks follow a similar path, constantly moving from the cerebral to the physical, adding structural elements, then obliterating it in a mass of debris, mechanized whir, and sharp edged clutter. Of the four tracks here, the last track is perhaps the most focused, and certainly the bleakest; a 13 + minute excursion into a dystopian society full of utterly hopeless and dark, resonating atmospherics, and ending in a cyclonic blur of destructive noise and blackened filth . It’s perfectly executed and a suitable ending to what equates to an intensely visceral and creative listen. Hard to find comparisons here, but those that appreciate the dynamics of Navicon Torture Technologies, Prurient, and Propergol will certainly find something to like. In 6 panel digipak.. $11.00
