1000Schoen/Ab Intra - Split ( Zoharum: Zohar070-2)
Zoharum proudly presents the split release of drone stalwart 1000SCHOEN (DE) and ambient soundscape sculptor AB INTRA (PL). Drone and ambient structures are places on the opposite poles, like fire and water, or air and earth. Acoustic music of 1000SCHOEN created with using only natural sound sources in mind and electronic compositions of AB INTRA complement each other on this release despite many differences. In the four parts of this split album various colours, shades, tones of such soundscapes are presented. The content of the following split release would make up separate albums of both artists, yet they gain another meaning in such a juxtaposition, in changeable atmospheres, building tension and reflections. It is a unique record, a rare one in the scene.
This collaboration did not end up with sonic content only since both Radek Kamiński (AB INTRA) i Helge S.Moune (1000SCHOEN) paint apart from creating music. Hence the split album boasts two separate front covers submitted by the artists.
This release is presented in a vinyl replica sleeve and is strictly limited to 400 copies.. $12.00

Aderlating - Spear of Gold and Seraphim Bone II ( Consouling Sounds: SoulD031)
After the unleashing of Spear of Gold and Seraphim Bone part I, 2013 spawned the second installment of this behemoth of a project. With this counterpart Mories (Gnaw Their Tongues/De Magia Veterum/Seirom) and Eric (Mowlawner) conclude the journey through hypnotic insanity they started to critical acclaim back in 2011. Rendering the diptych complete, this second part nonetheless serves as a chapter of its own. Atmospheric disenchantment, condensed in noisy slabs of ritualistic drones. From the lowest depths of aural madness to screeching industrial driven metallish mayhem. All the twisted and deformed elements that separates Aderlating from the boys come to full fruition as the sum of part one and two equals a sensory frenzy second to none.. $10.66

Aeldaborn - The Cosmic Trident ( Lichterklang: LK021)
"The Cosmic Trident“ is the second album of AELDABORN, consequently following the path of their debut „Fountain Of Darkened Fires“. Now consisting of Thomas Lückewerth, Philomela, Sepp Funkel, S. Dante and Axel Burgard AELDABORN celebrates old ancient myths by the poignant use of martial influenced Dark Folk and Ritual music which leads the listener to Viking Kings („Hakonarmal“), the finnish Kalevala („Vainamoinen“), the mountain tops of the Hindu goddess Shiva („The Cosmic Trident“), the funeral rites of the tibetian Bön („Mound Of Bones“) or to the hidden doctrine of the Qlipoth („Satariel“). In addition to the diverse vocals of the band guest performances by Frater Eremor (“Im Kraftstrom des Satan-Set“) and Asenath Mason (Foundress of „Temple Of The Ascending Flame“) put even more emphasis on the mythical and spiritual direction of the album. The sound is characterized by guitars, violin and drums in combination with the passionate lyrics, changing between melancholy, heros and aggression. The album will be released with exclusive paintings of the finnish artist Veera Pitkänen in an elaborate digipak and bookle. $11.00

Aeoga - Temple Treye ( Aural Hypnox: AH13)
Temple Treye is a work that was recorded and presented live already in 2006, but because of various reasons remained hibernating in the group’s personal archives for eight years. Due to the recent awakening, it was essential to gather the past and free these six telemorphic sonic formations; the crescent pillars had to be ignited. Temple Treye will be released through our Sublunar series, concentrating on presenting the new releases from the artists of the Helixes collective.Temple Treye is an ascetic yet vigorous continuation to the groups past discography. An outlandish touch ignites the earth-bound stellar components into bi-directional currents. Abstract electro-acoustic currents, coarse drone ambience and meditative rhythms guide onward on the pathway eating itself. Telemorphic-statues are burning, spectral-horizons collapsing into sub-atomic states which linger omnipresent among the threads of blooming semblances. Prism-like petals wither into immaterial gorges of power. Guardian's tonguing stare churning the revealing paralogies. Trance feasting the entrance. This is archaic dronumental Temple Music in its purest form. Total time: 43:41.
The regular edition of 444 copies is housed inside a hand finished cardboard covers including an eight panel booklet.. $13.99

Antichildleague - The Son ( Old Europa Café: OECD196)
A journey into ACL's birth and execution of the son ritual. Constructions and deconstructions of sounds, words into an empty space at times filled with abstract realities, at times with walls not easy to break. Reflections of controlling artificial machines, maintaining an upright position but then falling apart as nature commands. ANTIchildLEAGUE is the project of Gaya Donadio (London events Hinoeuma the Malediction / Confession, and Hagshadow). Born as an experimental DIY solo project in 199,7 ACL has evolved into a wider range of sound constructions covering genres such as industrial noise, power electronics, ritual and rhythmic dark ambient electronics, all of which are encompassed in "The Son ". Aquavoice - Grey ( Zoharum: Zohar049)
The eighth album in the Aquavoice's discography contains 10 compositions, covering more musical territories than before. It's pure electronics, but a bit more experimental than simply ambient or Berlin school, as previously associated with Aquavoice. The formula and the sound might be different, but the creative method and approach has not changed. As always, Tadeusz Luczejko treats synthesizers and computers as a sound source. But it's just the start of the puzzle, where all the elements, one by one, create music; music which is inspired by films and literature. It is an outlet of emotions and acts as a sort of feedback. Mastered by Marcin Bocinski. Ltd x 500 copies in an ecopack.. $11.00

Arktau Aon - Ikuisuus näkyy luiden läpi ( Aural Hypnox: AHUE01)
Thought lost and subsequently forgotten, a complete album by AIH & AIL of ARKTAU EOS and JKV of ZOÄT-AON was recently rediscovered. This unknown chapter in the evolution of the classic Finnish ritual sound originates from sessions held in May 2005, when Arktau Eos was still unnamed, beginning work on their seminal opus ‘Mirrorion’ and Zoät-Aon had just released the equally influential ‘Star Autopsy’ CD.
The album retains the original title of the sessions: ‘Ikuisuus näkyy luiden läpi’, Finnish for ‘Eternity Shines Through the Bones’, and for purposes of this release the group is named simply ARKTAU AON. ‘Ikuisuus näkyy luiden läpi’ is enthusiastic, youthfully vigorous and decidedly ominous ritual music with a total running time of 31:53. Instead of songs, it is divided into different ‘movements’ or phases: it resembles a field recording of some obscure ceremony from a far-off corner of the world. Boasting a raw but good, clear sound, ‘INLL’ remains unaltered save for the mastering done in 2013 at Katajan Kaiku studio.
Includes hand-finished photo prints (selected randomly from a set of 32 prints), an insert and silk-screen printed cardboard covers.. $16.00

Arktau Eos - Scorpion Milk ( Aural Hypnox: AHSM07)
Scorpion Milkby Arktau Eos, a work that was originally released in June 2006 is re-released through our Stellar Mansion series.'Scorpion Milk' consists of a single album length track, which is best apprehended in a meditative state with minimum outside interference. It is a shadowy companion of the 'Mirrorion' album, the candle-bearer who responds to no call but silence itself. The music can be likened to a dark well, the oily surface of which not only reflects the phantasms of mind recalled through participation in the "Mirrorion" cycle, but is occasionally broken by scorpionic surges of primal Power invigorating the act of contemplation.Performed and mixed live by using mainly obscure electronica on a reel tape, it is the antithesis of the sterile, lifeless sound and attitude of our times; a connoisseur's choice that stands alone despite its undercurrents flowing from the heart of 'Mirrorion'.The album is enclosed inside a newly designed cardboard covers including a 8-panel booklet and a silk-screen printed insert card. Limited to 500 copies.. $14.50

Bad Sector - Kosmodrom 2CD Box ( Power & Steel: PAS33)
Originally released in 2005 as a limited CD and CD/MCD edition which has long since sold out. Now available again - remastered and expanded! The 2xCD box includes the original album and the MCD with five extra tracks, which turns the second disc into an additional full length release. Includes 12-page booklet.
In Bad Sector's 20 years of existence. Massimo Magrini has developed a sound aesthetic of harmonious sonic drones that marked its beginning with the first album Ampos in 1995. Many releases and a decade later the ground breaking work Kosmodrom was published and sold out within a few months. Dedicated to Konstantin Tsiolkovsky, the Russian pioneer of astronautic theory, the key element in Bad Sector's´s music (bringing together science and sound) was brought into the foreground with this release. Original Soviet sound devices like the Aelita synthesizer and the electro-optical ANS (which Coil also worked with) were mixed with heavily processed sources from space missions, adding an unearthly human dialogue to the electronics. The sounds on Kosmodrom are deep and droning, pulsating and constantly flowing with processed rhythmic sequences, supported by a bed of radio signal recordings. A timeless masterpiece of deep ambient electronica!. $18.00

Bad Sector - Unification ( Old Europa Café: OECD162)
After seven years of work, one of the most experimental Bad Sector releases has found its final form. Initially an mp3 download, the original 20 minute program has been expanded into a full length CD, containing cold and fantastic atmospheres full of percolating soundwaves, deep space drones, glitches, and probing textures: an amazing soundtrack to the deepest places of the universe. Miles away from Ampos’ fuzzy harmonies, but strangely still related to it through invisible connections. "According to physical theories, large cosmic events, such as explosions of supernovae and collapses of binary stars, produce big changes in mass configuration. These changes spread as waves all over the universe. Special devices, called gravitational interferometers, have been built to detect these waves. VIRGO, a gravitational interferometer housed near Pisa, in Italy, is the source of “Unification”. This work contains the real, rough signals that VIRGO sent out when it was first checked, together with the target signals, computed by physicists, that VIRGO is looking for. A CDr released in 2006 contained a first short version of this project…” Massimo Magrini / Bad Sector.. $14.00

Bagman - In Their Blood, And From the Gutter CS ( Crucial Blast: Infernal22)
A gaze into the abyss. Originally released in 2009 as a limited edition CDR on the Greek label Subliminal Recordings, Bagman's In Their Blood And From The Gutter is one of his earliest recordings, a foul, hateful blast of brutal harsh noise and screeching feedback littered with disturbing incoherent samples, recordings of far-right American political extremists, and blasts of garbled verbal hatred. These four tracks stretch out for nearly half an hour, each one an expansive blast of crushing distorted rumble and caustic black static, blasts of howling feedback carved into strange rhythmic forms, the cacophony of collapsing structures often breaking away to reveal a seething core of bestial vocalizations and sputtering low-fi drone. Massive low-end synthesizers growl through the suffocating blizzard of crackling static and roaring distressed vocals, bringing a doom-laden feel to tracks like "Breath Constriction" and "Hunting Ground". Ultra-heavy, hellish electronic noise that often steps into power electronics territory without losing it's chaotic, skin-shredding abrasiveness. It is some of the heaviest material that this project has produced, fueled by a monstrous throbbing black rhythmic power, those distorted rumbling synthesizers pulsating like the core of a dying black star. Bagman strips away the civilized face of humanity, and finds a festering, demonic evil leering back at us.. $6.33

Bagman - Welcome to My Fucking Misery CS ( Crucial Blast: Infernal10)
Originally self-released in 2008, Bagman's Welcome To My Fucking Misery was the first release from the project, delivering four lengthy tracks of vile, blackened noise and rumbling bass horror that stretches out for nearly half an hour. Tracks like "In Bonds" and "Power Thrust" explore the themes of deviant violent sexuality and bestial violence that course through the flesh of Bagman's electronic soundscapes like cancerous cells, the murderous whispered vocals blasted through so much putrid distortion that the images of depravity, sadism and savage lust become unintelligible murmurs, their hateful energy transmuted into a pestilential blur of sound. This is seriously heavy stuff, huge droning slabs of charred distorted rumble infected with those demonic vocals, often sinking into an almost HNW-style wall of distortion. There are strains of a more subdued, dread-filled atmosphere that lurk beneath all of the corroded blown-out drones, sputtering feedback, insectoid buzzing, punishing sheet-metal percussive rhythms and scrap-metal rituals, but moments appear briefly, quickly consumed within the pulsating black horror of Misery's foul, raw extreme electronic chaos and visions of abject suffering.. $6.33

BA. KU. / BT. HN. - Ritual Totemic Stone LP ( Urashima: UMA061)
By now, the significance of Sam McKinlay's extensive body of work is undeniable. After having begun his mapping of the depths of monomania, fetish, addiction, and vice, in the mid-1990s with his flagship project, The Rita, McKinlay briefly halted his work in the early 2000s. Though it was unforeseeable at the time, McKinlay's return to substantial recording output and live performances around 2004 would quickly and permanently alter the landscape of Harsh Noise. The Rita became one of the most prolific and influential projects of the mid-2000s as McKinlay explored and channeled his own personal fixations into a sound that was as simultaneously oppressive and ecstatic as the crushing weight of obsession. While the sound of The Rita was not entirely novel, the philosophical underpinnings of the project and the extremes to which McKinlay pushed resulted in a sea of change within Harsh Noise. It can, and has, convincingly been argued that The Rita may have provided the final grand statement within Noise, Industrial, and Experimental music. To call McKinlay's output during the years 2005 to 2007 “voluminous” would be a massive understatement. In addition to numerous The Rita releases, McKinlay branched out and engaged in several collaborations and side projects while also contributing to the soundtrack for the Barrier Kult skate horde video work. Among McKinlay's musical side projects was the superb Ba.Ku. In 2005, McKinlay released a handful of tapes under this moniker, before changing it to BT.HN., reserving the name Ba.Ku./Barrier Kult exclusively for their skate-related activities. Originally released by Trash Ritual in 2005 under the name Ba.Ku. and later re-released as BT.HN., the “Ritual Totemic Stone” cassette showcased a markedly different style for McKinlay. The sound on “Ritual Totemic Stone” was sharper, darker, and more dynamic, tending more toward heavy Power Electronics with high-end feedback and indistinct vocals emerging from behind the sort of immense walls for which McKinlay is more customarily known. Drawing both sonic and conceptual inspiration from raw and bestial Black Metal, BT.HN. began incorporating samples from obscure horror films and a new aesthetic sensibility that, at that time, had not been fully explored in the Harsh Noise scene; indeed, the overlapping attributes of Black Metal and Noise were only just beginning to be explored. (Note that in 2006, The Rita and Bone Awl issued their collaboration that explored the nexus between these two genres.) While the use of Black Metal tropes in Noise is now disgracefully commonplace and usually trite, McKinlay's approach in 2005 was engaging because, as with his other thematic focal points, his tendency toward obsession granted him the ability to appropriate the right characteristics of Black Metal and incorporate them seamlessly. Regarded years later, “Ritual Totemic Stone” is a significant release within McKinlay's overall discography and a landmark release in the history of Harsh Noise. As such, Urashima, recognizing that it should be preserved and made available once again, has issued this vinyl edition . The record has been pressed on 140 gr black vinyl with black label and black inner sleeve and comes in a deluxe silver silkscreen on black cardboard sleeve, limited to 99 copies with strip insert in luxury 160 gr ivory paper.. $20.00

Black Leather Jesus/Blue Sabbath Black Cheer - Split LP ( Urashima: UMA72)
For over 20 years Black Leather Jesus has been there, watching, waiting, playing in small, poorly-lit rooms. Bloodyminded - Within the Walls ( Bloodlust!: B!176)
BLOODYMINDED is a heavy electronic band that was formed in New York, in 1995, after the dissolution of the early American industrial noise group Intrinsic Action, founded by Mark Solotroff in 1984.
The group’s live shows are extremely energetic, characterized by layers of screeching analog synthesizer, aggressive vocals, and a copious amount of feedback.
While BLOODYMINDED operate within the noise scene, their sound is broadly informed by their industrial forbearers, NYC pre-punk and noise rock, and British hardcore and grindcore. “Within The Walls” is the band’s fifth full-length studio recording and the first to be issued since their 2006 album, “Magnetism.” Numerous false starts led to the band entering the studio with acclaimed doom metal producer, Sanford Parker, to finally commit the new set of songs to tape (no, computer). The album is based on the concept of “love and loss in a time of great sadness,” and it follows themes established by members Isidro Reyes and Mark Solotroff in their offshoot band, The Fortieth Day. Reyes and Solotroff closely collaborated on the lyrics, working in both Spanish and English.
Along with core members Xavier Laradji, James Moy, Isidro Reyes, Pieter Schoolwerth and Mark Solotroff, select guest musicians were drafted to assist with the album.. $10.00

Brume / Oublier Et Mourir - A Year to Live Split LP ( Silken Tofu: STX.24)
A Year To Live’ is the 2nd collaboration between the German dark ambient/noise sound artist Anemone Tube (Oublier et Mourir) and the French sound experimentalist Christian Renou (Brume). ‘A Year To Live’ ties in with the highly acclaimed ‘Transference’ collaboration CD (released by Auf Abwegen, 2003), which radiated a subtle (dis)quieting melancholy, but goes beyond it.
Brume is the experimental music project by Christian Renou, a particularly prolific sound artist, active since 1985. With recordings on Elsie And Jack, Drone, Old Europa Café, Relapse, Staalplaat and his own Brume Rec., Christian Renou has built quite a name for himself over the years and can be considered a legend in the field. On ‘A Year To Live’ Brumecreates environments ranging from the completely abstract to the vaguely specific, using elements such as voice, loops, wide-ranging drones, ghostly ambiences, noise, various electronics and even percussions. The loops and voice samples roam throughout the track list like persistent ghosts wandering in a transcendental, shapeless purgatory, reciting their obsessions like a mantra.
Anemone Tube has aroused much attention with his two consecutive releases ‘Dream Landscape’ (2010) and ‘Death over China’ (2011), which embody hell’s darkest nightmares to give a good, hard glimpse of Death’s reign over matter and human existence. Now a new form of expression is born and in a sense it is the cathartic aftermath of the unbearable pain caused by the previous realisations. Such an expression required a different vehicle, which is Oublier et Mourir(‘to forget and to die’). A name perfectly suited to the peaceful, meditative, but also deeply emotional and atmospheric character of the music, which is a unique mix of melancholic ambient soundscapes & melodramatic pop sometimes reminding of Tor Lundvall, Arcana, and (early) Sylvain Chauveau.. $17.00

Brock van Wey and Scott Morgan aka Bvdub and Loscil coax the best out of each other on this epic, romantic dedication to the darkness of night. 'Erebus' takes it name from the Greek mythological figure used to represent "the personification of darkness…one of the first five beings to come into existence, born from Chaos", which provides a suitably classical backdrop for its five widescreen soundscapes. Erebus is said to have fathered several other deities, who lend their name to the track titles. 'Aether' is a thirteen minute ascension thru airy chorales to exalted ambient heights; 'Hespiredes' is segues from serene to dramatic shoegaze; the 24 minute centrepiece, 'Hypnos' meditates on Indian classical and cosmic ambient themes; 'Moirai' is a positively angelic panorama of blooming choral harmonics; 'Thanatos', the twin of 'Hypnos' is an elegiac, more succinct closer laden with heavy hearted minor key chords and swirl of plaintive vocals.. $13.66

Two years after "Rings", Corrado Altieri (Monosonik, Uncodified) and Simon Balestrazzi (T.A.C., Dream Weapon Ritual) are back on OEC with a new release that draws its inspiration from the life and work of Helena Petrovna Blavatsky, the 19th centuty Russian occultist, whose research and publications are still today a reference for many modern esoteric disciplines. "The Key" is a psychic voyage in eight parts, each one referencing dates, places or events which have been pivotal in Mme Blavatsky life and spiritual journey. Candor Chasma once more update the esthetics of post-industrial electronic sound with an obscure suite of psychedelic frequencies streams, hypnotic mantras and abrasive analogue bursts of noise. Cazzokraft - Integrity of the Preconcious System ( Old Europa Café: OECD191)
Conceived between Saitama and Berlin, this album is a collaboration between Japanese junk metal noise-master Masahiko Okubo (Linekraft) and Italian rhythmic heavy electronics pioneer P/S (Cazzodio / Naxal Protocol). A bludgeoning combination of the analogue pulsations of vintage Italian power electronics, the furious overdriven metal percussion Linekraft is renowned for, and the trademark mechanical saturated electronics of Cazzodio, assembled with the earsplitting esthetics of Japanese noise. Featuring American death industrial wunderkind The Vomit Arsonist, who contributes vocals on one track. Beautiful as the fortuitous meeting of a shark-operated modular synthesizer and a mental patient hitting on broken car parts, licking rusty chunks of metal to release the tension. Cisfinitum - O vs 0 ( Old Captain: OCCD07)
The debut album by charismatic Eugeny Voronovsky and his enigmatic project Cisfinitum "O vs 0" is re-released on CD after 15 years of its cryptic lurking in the dark. True minimal post industrial analogue sound. Recorded circa 1998, this is a unique archival work - a lunatic and lo-fi album with a distinct industrial aftertaste. It is kept unremastered and its pristine condition hints at obvious hisses, noises, clicks, abrupt frequency amplifications and sporadic channel drops. Approach the record with caution, play it not too loud to reveal its morbid charm, which is extreme simplicity that hurts. For the lovers of Archon Satani and No Festival of Light. Cloak of Altering - Plague Beasts ( Crucial Blast: CBR106)
Although most would probably best know Dutch avant-metal madman Mories for his notorious blackened industrial/orchestral doom outfit Gnaw Their Tongues, he's also been involved with a number of projects that one could describe as being rooted in a much more recognizable "black metal" sound. One of 'em is Cloak Of Altering, a project that Mories started in 2011 as a continuation of his earlier black metal band Ophiuchus. The previous Cloak Of Altering albums explored Mories's fascination with the early symphonic black metal of In the Nightside Eclipse-era Emperor and Arcturus's early efforts, as well as the more fiendish and fractured forms of industrial black metal as practiced by the likes of Dødheimsgard. Each new release has moved deeper into stranger and more mutated realms of electronically-damaged symphonic black metal, though, and with Cloak Of Altering's third album (and first for Crucial Blast) Plague Beasts, Mories delivers a ferocious affront to black metal form and structure, combining his otherworldly strain of sweeping symphonic black metal with bursts of intense electronic chaos, waves of nebulous synthesizer and spastic rhythmic violence that, at times, feels more like something you'd hear off of a Planet Mu 12".
As with most of his other projects (Gnaw Their Tongues, Aderlating, De Magia Veterum, Seirom, etc.), this deforms aspects of black metal into something even more surreal, but where the likes of Gnaw Their Tongues feature heavy use of orchestral sounds, the seven songs on Plague Beasts showcase a much more pronounced use of synthesizers. The melodies that seethe and swarm throughout the album at times resemble some twisted nightmare version of prog rock keyboard freak-outs, or vintage 16-bit game soundtracks being fused to the gristle and graveyard stink of second wave black metal. As soon as opener Plague Beasts kicks in, the album begins it's pummeling assault of churning programmed drumming and nuclear rhythmic chaos, unleashing volleys of violent machinegun-like blastbeats and skull-crushing gabber kicks beneath a baleful swarm of frostbitten blackened riffs, spiteful howling vocals sinking into the underlying layers of orchestral murk. You can definitely pick up on Mories's signature use of horrific orchestral sounds, but those elements are submerged beneath the fuzz-enshrouded black metal riffs and those swirling elliptical synths, melting those epic symphonic black metal influences into a psychotic cyborg stew of washed-out trip-hop rhythms, garbled discordant tremolo riffs, bizarre gurgling vocals, and swells of stunning, almost shoegazey majesty that suddenly wash over the music, imbuing it for a moment with a luminous black glow of aching apocalyptic beauty. On other tracks like "White Inverted Void", the album shifts into glitch-damaged electro-black metal epics roiling with crazed synthesizer arpeggios and complex keyboard melodies, while "Ash666urA" lurches like some utterly malformed breakcore monstrosity, all slow motion lurch and spasm, discordant sour riffage and those guttural putrid vocals rolling into passages of strange twilight eeriness. There are blasts of hellish nightmare ambience woven into mutant blackened drum n' bass spasms ("Into Celestial Hell") and assaults of atmospheric black metal grandeur infested with splintered, ultra-violent junglist rhythms reminiscent of artists like Shitmat and Venetian Snares ("Altering Forever"). And on "Translucent Body Deformities" and "Chaos Magician Of The Abyss", lush layers of gleaming synthesizer and orchestral strings are draped over rabid mechanized blasts and mosquito-buzz guitars, forming into some strange fusion of early Nordic black metal fury and the baroque soundtrack work of Keith Emerson, the drums locking up into stuttering, broken rhythms and glitched-out pandemonium.
More than anything else from Mories, this stuff is closest in spirit to the malevolent necro-industrial and fractured drug-fueled machine-ecstasies of bands like Aborym, Blacklodge, Dodheimsgard, Mysticum, and Abigor. But as with anything that this guy is involved with, Plague Beasts seethes with a deliriously demonic atmosphere entirely its own. Comes in six-panel digipack packaging.

Cody Drasser - Lugubrium Encumbrium CS ( Peacock Window Recordings: PCWC01)
Cody Drasser's second solo album, 'Lugubrium Encumbrium' will soon be available once again in both cassette/digital formats. Some of you may recall that this cassette was available late last year through the efforts of the Gilded Peradam label. Peacock Window Recordings is now reissuing the album with all new artwork and a new mastering job along with 4 new songs. Some songs which appeared on the first version of the cassette have been renamed for greater cohesion of the album's themes of ghosts, the paranormal, graveyards, tortured spirits and what might await us beyond the earthly realm. A much vastly different creature than Cody's first solo outing, 'The Fate of Things,' this album takes a minimal approach to emphasize the eerie, shadowy and spectral nature of the sounds. Being comprised of material recorded onto abandoned cassette over 10 years ago, Cody unearthed the cassettes from their hiding place and found that many of the tapes were suffering from varying degrees of deterioration. Not seeing this as an obstacle, Cody delved deeply into the music as it was, using the deterioration as a natural part of the album's feel. 'Lugubrium Encumbrium' has an aura of unearthly mystery that at times feels creepy and ominous, and at other times feels peaceful and comforting.. $6.50

Coil/Nine Inch Nails - Recoil LP ( Cold Spring: CSR193LP)
“Recoiled” is a rambunctious alchemy, of magikal Coil sensibilities and hi-tech home circa 90’s mixing technique, all fused in the cave-like early studios of Danny Hyde / Peter Christopherson. These were the unrestrained PRE- BIG studio- mix downs, of four songs which long time Coil admirer / collaborator Trent Reznor requested Coil to remix. Reznor sent over the original multi-tracks and DATs to Hyde / Christopherson, who independently mixed versions and then met to synch both creations, molding them into these master versions. ”Recoiled” includes a fuller, more opulent version of the track ‘Closer’, which eventually made it onto the opening credits to the movie “SE7EN“. These 5 lengthy compositions (just under 40 minutes) are pre-Ableton / laptop generation type priest song creations, with the use of baby alarms and numerous wires to create bespoke effects. These legendary tracks were always rumoured to exist and, only the due diligence of a dedicated NIN forum who hunted them down, are released/unleashed for your listening pleasure. 4 of the tracks were released on the download-only “Uncoiled”. A bonus, previously unheard track from the same sessions closes the album. Jhonn Balance is also manifest on this gilded constellation. Beautifully remastered. Black vinyl in a heavy glossy sleeve with printed inner sleeve.. $19.00

Brilliant artwork from UK artist Si Clark results in maybe the single most impressive packaging you'll have seen in the last 10 years, if not ever, and that's no fucking joke. Musically, this is dark and harsh, chopped up with controlled blasts of pedal noise, feedback, swarming distortion, and abusive vocals violently screaming underneath. Darius Wojtas vs Z'ev - Pro Pagan Da ( Zoharum: NO22)
For this recording, former HATI member Dariusz Wojtaś used tibetan bowls, drums and field recordings, as well as various reverb and delay units. This original material was processed and remixed by legendary Industrial / Ritual artist Z'EV in London. "Pro Pagan Da" contains 2 lengthy compositions simply titled 'Kaleidoscope I' and 'Kaleidoscope II', both decorated in a minimalist, drone way, echoing the post-Industrial tradition that somewhere crossed paths at the root of both artists. Z'EV's interference is very discreet, relying more on movement and subtle accents than adding or subtracting anything in the recording. The first piece is full of metallic sounds, with rare blasts of noise. The second journey is in the field of analogue electronics, with recurring phases of warm, thick tones. It brings to mind experiments with the Soviet ANS, with its myriad of microtones. Ltd x 350 copies in an A5 gatefold sleeve.. $12.00

Hypnotic, repetitive and grinding noise, mixing power or rhythmic electronics with resonating industrial sounds. The atmosphere is obscure, unsettling, and very personal, most of the tracks dealing with the death and the resurrection of the ego. Definitely Finnish in nature, falling somewhere between the abstract agitation of STROM.ec, the blunt aggression of Grunt, and the crushing dynamics of Sektor 304. Desiderii Marginis - Thaw ( Zoharum: Zohar073-2)
Of the Swedish wave of ambient acts from the 1990s, Desiderii Marginis is one of the few still active and definitely one of the finest of those few. Far from being a typical project in the vein of Brian Eno/Lustmord, Johan Levin, the mastermind behind Desiderii Marginis, has created and developed its own unique sonic palette merging digital and analogue: melancholic electronica with electroacoustic elements and intravenous rhythms. From the early days his music met with positive reactions resulting in albums on renowned the legendary Swedish Cold Meat Industry label, and lately also on Canadian Cyclic Law.
Over the course of 20 years, Levin released 7 full-length albums, a 3-way split and a collection of rare pre-debut demos plus numerous tracks on various compilations. His latest offering entitled "Thaw" compiles the latter and adds 3 tracks from the split "Lost Signals from Unknown Horizons". On the one hand, it is simply a collection of rare tracks, but, on the other, it may serve a purpose of a "best of" album. With the chronology unaltered, it gives you the full picture of the project and its progress. It is a history lesson of the last 20 years in sonic melancholia of Desiderii Marginis.. $12.66

Dissecting Table/Sektor 304 - Utopia/Decay LP ( Malignant: TumorLP80)
A follow up to 2012’s split CDr on UPD Organization brings these projects together once again, this time for a limited split 12”. Dissecting Table (aka Ichiro Tsuji) is one of the most iconic names in the history of industrial music, and has been pushing the envelope in extreme music as far back as 1986. Early material was completely groundbreaking… over the top, maniacal drumming, dirty bass, and guttural vocals that was like grindcore meeting death industrial before either term even existed. Their influence was undeniable, and can still be felt today, even as recently as Sektor 304’s previous release, the “Engage…Forward” 7”. Newer Dissecting Table material has moved into a more psychedelic, fully chromatic and glitched out area, but the tracks here bridge the gap between the two eras, mixing a veritable mine field of percussion and metal bashing with spastic electronic mis-wirings and crazed oscillations. For those unfamiliar with Ichiro’s work, this is a great introduction.
The flip side gives us perhaps the most perfect collection of Sektor 304 material to date…4 tracks flowing together and carefully sculpted into a sprawling and epic display, encompassing all aspects of the their sound; pummeling sheets of tribalized junk metal percussion in the early part, to desolate decay and pure apocalyptic dystopia in the mid-section, where radioactive transmissions intersect low slung bass, and the infected vocals of Martin Bladh (IRM/Skin Area). The final piece, Power and Strength, is one of most ominous and oppressive tracks they've ever done…a slow, shambling dirge of looping, mechanized percussion, industrial drone and resonating steel mill din with an almost Karjalan Sissit style rigidity. It’s a monster of a track and the perfect closing statement from a band that continues to grow and mature into something truly astounding.
Lmtd to 200 copies, this is a must for all appreciators of the tried and true old school sound.. $18.00

Electric Sewer Age (Coil) - Bad White Corpsucle ( Old Europa Café: OECD190)
Electric sewer age was originally conceived in 2006 by John Deek (founder of the Divine Frequency label), with the original idea for like minded souls, particularly among the Coil fraternity, too compose music which would be released with no credits to the creators. This would allow the listener to listen, and not have a preconceived bias, as to which song they liked best, based on their favorite composer etc.
Danny Hyde continues his fantastical journey in sound with this second release under the ESA name and completely moves beyond expectations. Disproving the doubters, this EP is pretty much just him in his studio wrenching new creations out of his equipment; the trainspotters amongst us will no doubt pick out some of the shards he pulls from his past. But he doesn't make them the focus of what is going on here, they are there merely to accent, to add a bit of depth and help illuminate how many years he's been at this.
Through the usage of heavily processed vocals and arcane terrestrial instrumentation, Hyde lives up to his reputation for creating amazingly detailed yet extremely dark electronic compositions. The symbiosis of organic and synthetic influences would be his forte and he's not holding anything back this time out, believe me, there's a feel to what is on here that isn't easily conceived. To just sit down and begin knocking out what 'Bad White Corpuscle' contains I don't think could be done unless you had planned and plotted out every last possible contingency down to the millisecond.. $18.00

En Nihil/Procession of the Black Sloth - Mask of the Predator, Mask of the Prey C60 ( Whispering Eye: WE07)
The reality you know could change at any moment. What you once knew will never come back beyond this point. In the blink of an eye, an existence of serenity and normality can change into a horrific, living nightmare. You are now just prey at the mercy of a predator…
En Nihil delivers some of his most intense, foreboding sounds yet with this split’s material. Overpowering low-end rumblings, rapid blasts of static and eerie vocalizations set the tone for this sonic chamber of suffering.
Procession of the Black Sloth creates a rather unsettling atmosphere with deranged vocals, grating orchestral tones and dense layers of piercing electronics and psychoacoustics. A dreadful audio account of an ill-fated encounter with a truly demented mind…. $7.50

Four years after their debut „Paths To Emptiness“, Fahl’s second album „The Halls OF The Dead“ is not just a compendium of songs lyrically influenced by the „Mahabarata“, Stefan George, Ludwig Fahrenkrog, Carlo Michelstaedter and Hermann Graf Keyserling, but musicalwise the consequent continuation of what has been started four years ago. „The Halls Of The Dead“ is a dark opus of 13 occult ambient tracks that’ll haunt the listeners by it’s lyrical and musical depth and sincerity. „The Halls Of The Dead“ for sure is not an album for the fainthearted listener.

Gnawed - Feign and Cloak ( Malignant: TumorCD79)
Active since 2009, Minneapolis based Grant Richardson has solidified a reputation for creating a strain of death industrial and power electronics that’s particularly ferocious, visceral, and just insanely heavy. Alongside Nyodene D, The Vomit Arsonist, and Steel Hook Prostheses, Gnawed represents an act at the forefront of a genre, whose music is built on a European foundation, but is sculpted and heightened with American aggression and intensity. Despite numerous cassettes, splits, and compilation appearances, Feign and Cloak is just Gnawed’s second full length CD following 2012’s masterful Terminal Epoch (Phage Tapes), and sees Richardson continuing down a similar path, only having tightened the reigns, sharpened his focus, and honed his skills. Few artists are as adept or as capable at building tension and atmosphere as Gnawed, then releasing it in an onslaught of deep barreled percussion, pneumatic reverberations, scrap metal debris, and turbine fueled drones, the processed vocals resonating and slicing through the mix with force and rigor, the end result a perfect marriage of controlled chaos and structured composition. A modern masterpiece of true industrial music. In 6 panel digipak with matte finish. Artwork by Brian Vander Pol.. $10.66

Government Alpha/Halalnihil - Inhuman Culture of Psychoacoustics ( L-White: LW074)
A relentless split release between the well-known Japanese Harsh Noise master Government Alpha, and the fresh, newly rising Hungarian Harsh / Power Electronics project Halalnihil. Yoshida brings his trademark harsh sounds, with ear-ripping mid frequencies, and extremely heavy changes within the use of his equipment. Crunchy, fuzzy sounds shifting each other with massive delay-modulation, in the whole spectrum of hearable audio, like a non-stop machine, what was not even made by a human, but itself. The years what Yoshida's spent in this genre is now shows it's routine. This is Government Alpha in it's most favorite mode, a chaotic, but well-controlled, distorted avalanche to the cochlea. Inhos, the man behind Halalnihil brings four composed Harsh P.E. tracks in it's own style. Heavily clipped bass crackings, glasses and metals, massive effect loops, mixer n' microphone abuse - and of course, varied, but intense vocals, from simple talking, to extremely high pitched, loud screams (hear the track 'SpermakultĂşra'). Halalnihil proves by it's sounds and aesthetics, that Hungary is not a black hole anymore about really in-your-face Power Electronics, and this was just the beginning of the upcoming activity.'Inhuman Culture of Psychoacoustics' is for everyone, who are into Noise, Power Electronics, or both.. $14.33

Grey Wolves - Blood And Sand CD/LP ( Cold Spring: CSR42LP)

Do not expect simple noise – this album contains extreme electronics, mixed with dark ambient rumblings, the sound of armoured helicopters and military transmissions. It was originally issued as a comment of the Gulf War, then raging in the early 1990s. Released a decade later in this remixed format – the timing is appropriate as the US once more attacks the Middle East.Ltd x 400 copies (300 black vinyl / 100 grey vinyl) in a full colour sleeve. Grey Wolves/Wertham/Survival Instinct - Ramraiding the Abyss LP ( Old Europa Café: OELP011)
“Ramraiding thee Abyss” is both a split and a collaboration LP between three units born out of the extreme electronic and experimental music network.
The result of a 15 year long alliance turned into aural assault, blending the three projects’ different styles into a celebration of the chaos, the confusion and the uncertainty, we witness on a daily basis in this ever changing world.
This record features, mostly, new material, including both collaborations between the three units as well as stand-alone tracks. The sounds, visuals and concept, to be found within this release, have been developed over years of exchanging sounds, ideas and lyrics.
GREY WOLVES (UK) are known to the world as prime movers of the so-called cultural terrorist network and they return on this vinyl with brand-new tracks in their own unique style, made of strongly-crafted noise patterns united with fierce vocal oriented power electronics.
WERTHAM’S brand of Italo-hardcore electronics, goes back to the violent streets of its debut CD, alternating mid/low-end pulsing analog waves to multi-layered harsher sounds, with heavy use of samples and tortured vocals.
SURVIVAL INSTINCT is a splinter cell and an exit strategy, of and from, the Grey Wolves. This unit delivers strongly constructed tracks.Electronic noise wreckage and underlying rhythmic elements, meet dark ambient / atmospheric soundscapes that build to a high level of intensity. This is a unit born of Wolves but heading out in its own direction.
Mastered by Yvan Battaglia (LCHM), released in partnership with OLD EUROPA CAFE.. $26.00

Grunt - Archive: 90's Tapes 10xCD Boxset ( Freak Animal: GruntA90)

This is LIMITED EDITION BOX ! In future all 5 discs will be available separately for those who don't like boxes or prefer to pick some particular era of Grunt. What more to say? In respect for the spirit of Grunt in 90's, there is no damaging editing.Songs appear pretty much as they were on tapes, including all the dynamics, all the potential flaws of decades old masters. Same goes for artwork and design. Apart from neat box and stylish silk-screened digifiles, it is all the well known directionless youthful enthusiasm. To catch the spirit of those days, despite real factory pressed CD's, each box has been personally assembled together. Each cover silkscreened and copies assembled. Everything has very involved & self made feel, just like sound of the release. While many may know Grunt 90's works from already done re-issues like Europe After Storm", "Someone Is Watching", "Terror & Degeneration" or such, this box set exposes the high diversity of material. In finest tradition of those days - box is simply FILLED. Semi-chronological order, pretty much everything what has not appeared on CD or vinyl before. Only selection (=leaving material out) was done in very earliest material from'93/94, which would have been pointless to publish entirely.
More could be written about personal importance of many tracks and releases, but one finds plenty of that text in booklet. Also I could underline how impossible vast majority of releases is to find. Some releases are not even listed in popular market places such as discogs and may have been manufactured merely couple dozen copies back in the day. There are plenty of tracks what theoretically should have been part of some much more well known release, but wasn't. Spontaneous and unplanned nature of early works resulted that many songs that would have created perfect album, were scattered to different releases and compilations. While listening this material for couple of years now, I'm convinced some of the materials are actually among very best what Grunt has ever recorded! This was among reasons why with seemingly modern & complex "World Draped..." album Grunt returned to use some of the same methods &equipment as in 1993-1997!. $105.00

Gulag - S/T CS ( Basement Tapes: BT61)
Manifesting within the derelict shadows of mid-'90s Denver, Gulag (named from "The Gulag Archipelago" by A. Solzhenitsyn) was the shared impulse of two artists to fabricate a sense of beauty and meaning from an environment largely dominated by paranoia and despair. Beginning with found percussive objects and lo-fi recordings of common environmental sounds, J. Hovatter and R. Campbell spontaneously collaborated on a body of recordings which appealed directly to the atavistic drive to find creative expression in a desolate post-industrial landscape; an act of catharsis and a gentle nod to the new dark age.

Habsyll - MMVIII ( tUMULt: Atwar041)
First full length record from French ultra-mega-abstract-doom trio Habsyll, which just so happens to feature one member of the mighty Fantastikol Hole, as well as the former drummer of faerical punk blasters Nuit Noire!
Nothing, and we mean nothing will prepare you for Habsyll's particularly virulent strain of ultradoom. Heavy and slow, yeah obviously, but it's HOW heavy (very) and HOW slow (ummm, so slow the songs seem to have almost zero forward momentum) that makes Habsyll something much more than a metal band or a doom band, it's almost like twentieth century classical played with downtuned guitars and massive drums. So much space, the notes and drum beats miles apart, the drums not so much beats and rhythms (although those do pop up occasionally) as brief explosions or percussive squalls, more for dynamics and texture, or if they are actually engaged in some sort of actual beat, it's mind bendingly abstract and extended and slow to the point of hovering around 2 or 3 bpm. Think Khanate, Monarch, Moss, Bunkur, Fleshpress? You're already thinking too fast, too structured, too riffy. This is some excessive extremist radical dooooooooom, the sort of chug and plod and buzz and bombinate that makes the rest of those bands sound like speed metal.
But in this slow sprawl, and these long stretches of decay, these sudden flurries of drum splatter and downtuned chug, there is a buried beauty, occasionally, these disparate parts mesh into a brief flicker of melody, or a single epic majestic hook filled swell, before slipping back into blackness. And once or twice the band ramps it up, and locks into some serious pounding crushing black hole sludge, but even then, it's a crawl, a glacial black ooze tempo, and before too long, the band abandon any sense of rhythm or tempo, opting instead to drift through some wide open stretch of outerspace ultra doom emptiness.
The guitars go from grinding and sharp, to muddy and massive, the chugs flung into the ether and carried along on streaks of whirring hiss and blackened buzz, spitting out huge jagged shards of feedback, and long smears of blurred anti-riffage, the bass is a massive cloud of low end, throbbing and pulsing, exploding like a brick wall to the side of the head before slipping back into a shadowy rumble, the vocals a caustic demonic shriek, raspy and hellish, slipping into an almost hysterical falsetto, and just as often offering up some alien ululations, and the drums, oh the drums, any drummer can tell you how hard it is to play slow, but they're talking slowcore slow, or even regular doom slow, this is something else entirely, this is doom drumming gone free jazz, pound and skitter in equal measure, meting out beats one at a time, like some sleek black submarine releasing depth charges.
Two lengthy epics, 17 minutes and nearly 29 minutes, neither very traditionally doomlike, but both most definitely doom, maybe more 'doom', than most actual doom we've heard. Like staring into the abyss, or looking up at a black moonless night sky, these sounds are the sounds of emptiness, of bottomless depths, of never ending expanses of space and time, the end of the world, the birth of new universes, the sound of black holes, of exploding stars, the soundtrack to the end of the world, to the end of everything. Slow and heavy and low and spaced out and damaged and fucked up and strangely beautiful and mysterious and abstract and far out and completely kick ass while remaining very very very difficult listening indeed!. $9.00

Halo Manash - Caickuwi Cauwas Walkeus ( Aural Hypnox: AHSM01)
Caickuwi Cauwas Walkeus, a work recorded in early September 2008 is finally re-released through Aural Hypnox’s Stellar Mansion series. Stellar Mansion is our new re-release series, presenting past Helixes transmissions, sent back from distant stars, in newly designed packaging. CCW was previously available during Halo Manash tour in France (Jan. 2009), in an edition of only 29 copies.
The album presents contemplative forest music in its purest form - a return of lost, primeval forest hymns. Buried deep in sound and soil, primal Mana has been unearthed and unleashed from the remote frosty hummocks and calm fells all over boreal forests. The circling polar flares in the night sky and a variety of forgotten calls guide the indefatigable explorer inwards, towards the saffron moon and self-devouring windlestraw pyres.
CCW consists of five tracks utilizing only acoustic instrumentation, which for the most part have been recorded live in the Katajan Kaiku studio with no overdubs. Total running time: 43:56.Regular edition of 444 copies is enclosed inside hand finished cardboard covers including a 8-panel booklet.. $14.50

Halo Manash - Wesieni Wainajat CD ( Aural Hypnox: AHUE04)
Halo Manash has been working for the past three years in solid-shadows and un-lights to reach the posture of Mercurial Aqua-Aurorae. ‘Wesieni Wainajat’ presents a natural continuation for the group’s past Forest Music phase and their previous ‘Taiwaskivi’ album, in which the cresent-drop was just about to descent in the bottom of the sublunar-cup.
'Wesieni Wainajat' consists of three, long and brooding, repetitive trance-drone tracks interweaving various analog drone sources with elemental field-recordings. Each track serves as a vehicle in passing the threshold of consciousness and triggering the subliminal realms of hallucination and shape-shifting. As a whole the album is an evocative lunar-hymn reaching out toward one’s Mercurial Empire – and the One who is moist.
The album is available in two editions: 350 CDs and 50 cassettes (25 black & 25 transparent). Both editions include three hand-finished photo prints, an textual insert and silk-screen printed cardboard covers. Total running time: 39:11.. $12.00

This is the seed that started it all.Not fully realized and in its’ embryonic stages, Hirsute Pursuit was developing its’ signature testosterone sound.Hirsute Pursuit is Harley Phoenix and Bryin Dall. On these early recordings, Harley participated in a much different way, rather than doing the lead vocals, Harley controlled the sexual situations. From a Skype call to enjoying a porno film with an obedient participant. But don’t think that you won’t hear Harley giving his orders. No, he is still present and in some of these earlier tracks, those orders are given in a dark atmosphere that excludes the possibility of beats. Extended reissue of Hybryds' classic and seminal 1992 album (previously on Artware). In “Music for rituals” the pure magical sound of Hybryds became reality, a struggle between female and male energies gave birth to one of the most original releases in the magical music scene. The bonus 'Rarities And Unreleased' disc contains 5 tracks from 1983-1988, including "Girl Hunter" - originally a strange S&M video from Japan. Magthea mixed the voices of this movie on recordings of koto and some cello pieces from Yasnaia to create a fantasy world; soft meditative music with exotic Japanese voices telling weird stuff about life, sex, pain, lust and death. I.corax - Cella Phantasma ( Aural Hypnox: AHUE02)
Aural Hypnox welcomes I.corax to the label roster. We will eventually reprint the entire I.corax back catalogue, but to initiate the series we are thrilled to present Cella Phantasma, an album consisting of previously unreleased material dating back to a time before the birth of the Blue Sector label.
The material on 'Cella Phantasma' originates from the very first I.corax sessions held in the surroundings of Oulu in 1999. The album offers an archeo-astronomical account of the spectral phenomena found at that particular time. The sessions or states of 'Cella Phantasma' were heavily influenced by numerous mystical experiences that took place during various night-time wanderings and ritual retreats, which more than often included exceedingly vigorous and intimidating encounters with the Visitors from beyond. The primitive electro-acoustic manifestations arising from such experiences are brought forth in a characteristically eerie lo-fi atmosphere, composed using a minimal selection of instruments, and resulting in an enthralling landscape of darkened timbres and haunting textures. The album is available in two editions: 350 CDs and 50 cassettes. Both editions include three hand-finished photo prints, a textual insert and silk-screen printed cardboard covers. Illusion of Safety - Surrender CS ( No Part Of It: NPOI01)
"Illusion of Safety, just passing its 30th year since inception, is often regarded as the innovator of "ambient industrial". Despite having traversed nearly every arena of the experimental milieu, performed prestigious fests all over the world, and collaborated with some of widest ranging and heaviest hitting of the avante garde, core member/founder Daniel Burke has both shown a return to form and a veritable bouquet of new frontiers in his most recent outing, "Surrender". In just under 60 minutes, the listener is taken on a dizzying carousel ride where everything but the kitchen sink is employed to weave a deeply personal (abstract, wordless) narrative that comes off as minimalistic, condensed, and bombastic. But at the same time, it is a constantly shifting, complex and ornate grid iron amalgam of genuine enthusiasm and horror. Recommended if you like a complete disregard for the myopic trappings and short sighted formulae of contemporary sound art today. ". $6.50

Illusion of Safety - Sweet Dreams 10inch ( Substantia: SUB17)
IOS started in Chicago almost 30 years ago with their vision ofdark & morbid atmospheric industrial music and soon became one of theinventors of what was then called 'Ambient Industrial', the marriage of these twovery different styles & approaches. Since then, IOS has never failed to surprise theirlisteners, going through many musical changes with various live members usingelements of improvisation, electro-acoustic music, sound collages, sublimedrones (especially in the 90's before it became a well-known notion) and noise(and only imagine that JIM O'ROURKE started his career as the 19-year old liveguitarist of Illusion of Safety). We are very happy IOS (at this time mastermind Dan Burke only) recordedpieces for a special concept 10" series that again mark a very unexpectedchange: Sweet Dreams is an almost 'psychedelic' record, using manyincredible acoustic sounds deriving from field recordings, instrumental sources(such as acoustic guitars) and synths, which build together repetitive pulsingpatterns & hypno-loops that suck you in. But IOS wouldn't be IOS if it weren't forsurprising breaks, cut-ups, crackling sounds and other interferences.. To us, this sounds like 70's psych-space tunes transformed by today's experimental & compositional consciousness..Three pieces, 22+ mins, mastered by Thomas Dimuzio, 500 copies pressed on beautiful & unique 3-colour (green, blue & white) vinyl & with artwork by Berlin-based designer Tilmann Benninghaus.. $12.00

Inade - Audio Mythology Two CD ( LOKI: LOKI60)
The soul of Eternity has a voice. It has a smile that radiates dreams of ancient origin. Its yawn is vast and perilous: to view it is to sacrifice sanity. Inner Vision Laboratory vs. Nepenthe - Ambit ( Zoharum: Zohar066-2)
Two years after well-received "Perpetua" album, INNER VISION LABORATORY returns to Zoharum with their new album entitled "Ambit". Not a solo venture, but a collaborative effort with young, but promising NEPENTHE project. The album was 3 years in the making when they were searching for a common language and fiddling with sonic matter using the Internet in this respect, they have created a monolith - a very cohesive, yet symbiotic world. It might be easily labelled as "ambient", yet they break the patterns of that style.
"Ambit" is composed of 7 compositions, clocking in at 50 minutes. It is composed of beautiful, yet unsettling melodies, for those who are fascinated with sounds coming from Cyclic Law and Loki Foundation labels, but also for new-comers to the genre. For those open-minded for something new and touching, a kind of music painted with the whole palette of colours and sounds.. $12.00

Innfallen - Weathered Roads to a Burning Bridge 2CDr ( Self-released: InnWR01)
2nd release from this dark ambient duo finds them continuing on the same path as their 2009 debut, Three Days of Darkness. A changing landscape populated by bleak and cold textural drift, ominous keyboard drones, minor key melodies, and subterranean horror. Disc 2 is a 3 track remix courtesy of Invercauld, which is one half of Innfallen, and whom you may recognize from their 2004 release on Cyclic Law. Over 60 minutes worth of material on disc 2 alone, as it descends even deeper into the abyss, the sounds heavier and more oppressive. I'm also offering a pretty good deal on both this and the debut, so if you have neither, it's a good opportunity to get caught up and save some scratch at the same time.. $10.99

In Slaughter Natives - Cannula Coma Legio ( Cyclic Law: 70thCycle)
Lead by the enigmatic Jouni Havukainen since the late 80's, he is responsible for some of the brashest and intense releases of the post industrial genre. This new release can be seen as a prequel to things to come, it contains 3 brand new tracks, in which we see ISN plunge into less bombastic terrain and delve into more obscure ambient territories. Along side these new pieces is reworked, remixed and upgraded material used in the last years as part of live performances by extreme body art performer Chérie Roi, giving new life and direction to some well known passages and lesser known tracks with the trademark ISN bombastic sound and vocals. A brand new album is also scheduled for release in late 2014, and this release serves as the perfect appetizer while we wait for the main course.

IRM - Anthology 2CD ( Autarkeia: ACD065)
Re-stock! Having started out in 1997 when Erik Jarl asked Martin Bladh to join him, 2012 sees the 15th anniversary of IRM. 15 years - incidentally the legal age of consent in their native Sweden - that have seen them mature from bedroom autodidacts to masters of the studio environment. Taking their cue from the confrontational sounds of BDN and Whitehouse on the tape debut, IRM have honed their sound by each album and eventually fleshed out the sonic tapestry by the addition of Mikael Oretoft on bass. By tapping into the mindsets of outsider artists/authors such as Mishima, Rudolf Schwarzkogler and Francis Bacon, their obsessions with pain, purity and beauty leaked into Bladh's personal lyrics. This aesthetic amalgamated with the volcanic eruptions of Jarl and Oretoft have set IRM apart as true originators in the diluted sea of contemporary power electronics. The box contains of 2 golden metalisation discs on digipack, 2 special protectors including box itself for discs and digi and 20 pages booklet. Lim. E 500. Disc contain a collection of live recordings, unreleased studio material, compilation appearances, as well as the Four Studies 10 inch, the 10 inch split with Skin Area, and more! Mandatory!. $24.00

Isolator - Culture and Principal of Anti-Human Exaltation ( Black Plagve: Infect15)
There’s dark, and then there’s what Isolator create – an abyssal black hole fashioned from pure negativity and concentrated misanthropy, the sounds unraveling like a time lapse film of slow decay and rot, where cascading, shapeless drones meet charred orchestral swells, disembodied voices, ritual undertones, and crushing, blown out disharmonics, all slathered and smeared into a mass of roiling darkness . This is harrowing and bleak to an endless degree and takes desolation and hopelessness to new levels. Featuring members of Father Befouled/Encoffination and Set, the 5 extended tracks signify a vital new entry into the “black noise” genre and fits comfortably amidst its Black Plague brethren DEATHSTENCH, T.O.M.B., and Hypsiphrone, and will also find appeal for those who appreciate the dark drift of early Yen Pox. Jason Van Gulick - Entelechy ( Idiosyncratics: IDCD08)
Anyone who's seen him performing either solo, sharing the bill with Stephen O'Malley (Sunn O)))), Chris Corsano, N.U. Unruh (Einstürzende Neubauten), or along with Carla Bozulich / Evangelista, Y.E.R.M.O. or French based collective DEGA! will confirm: Jason Van Gulick definitely counts among the most inventive and talented drummers in the music scene nowadays.
His dynamite loaded though subtle and masterfully executed performances, mixtures of wild rhythms and abstract soundscapes made him a quite a name in the last years and it was about time for Jason to release his first solo album.
Entelechy combines electroacoustic textures with more musical, "free" drumming passages. Formerly trained as an architect, Van Gulick puts an important focus on natural resonance and often performs in locations chosen for their acoustic specificities. Therefore, Entelechy has been entirely recorded in resonant spaces such in Brussels as a squat called RTT and young but already legendary underground concert venue HS63.
The album has been mixed by RIPIT and mastered by Frederic Alstadt at Angstrom, Brussels.

John Murphy & Ben Taylor - Untitled ( Cipher Productions: Sic71)
This lengthy CD compiles a series of improvisational vignettes recorded by Ben Taylor (Bordel Militaire, Ebola Disco, Chrome Dome) and John Murphy (Shining Vril, Knifeladder, Krang, Death In June and many more) during 2004 and 2005, clandestinely avoiding Ben’s ex-girlfriend’s intrusions as well as her overly-religious landlord.
The results vary from sparse ambient and percussive thrusts to pushing industrial and hallucinatory noise episodes: reflections of the duo’s interplay, the weather, the environment and an avoidance of strategy. Kommando - Kranial Klash LP ( Ant-Zen: Act311)
Kommando was Dan Courtman’s pre-Thorofon project which released two cassette tapes and two CDs during its initial existence. Four years after the 'Crimefactory' album Kommando is re-established with the vinyl LP 'Kranial Klash' which marks a technological update as well as a mental one. On this album the bygone decades' spirit of innovative aggressive, distorted sounds are updated to a high level of industrial art. The nine tracks offer a contemporary version of varied musical directions ranging from advanced power electronics and amorphic, grinding noise to precise, crisp sequences. Repetitive electronic loops, rhythms and beats are highlighted with manipulated vocal insertions - the outcome is a rough, forcible and hypnotic aural document of Kommando's state of mind.

Lagowski - redesine+ ( Zoharum: Zohar056)
Following last year's reissue of Legion's "False Dawn" in anniversary 2CD edition, Andrew Lagowski returns to Zoharum with an album of new music. It is his first physical album in 7 years under his own surname following "Temporary Distractions" released in 2006. In the meantime, he's been busy with live gigs, his arctic ambient project S.E.T.I. and reissuing his older material as Legion and Nagamatzu. "Redesine+" is his return to the dormant post-techno side of his music.
It's very hard to pigeonhole Andrew's music. From sterile cold wave through underground techno to icy dark ambience, and that's just the tip of an iceberg. As Lagowski, he penetrates the world of rhythms and digital electronics as opposed to ambient albums by S.E.T.I. and defunct Legion. On his new solo albums he gathers 13 songs (79 minutes of music!!!) where he teases us with a myriad of sounds, samples and beats. Retaining the traditional elements of 1990s IDM and techno, he filters his music through an ambient sensibility, thus creating a completely new sonic spectrum. A very strong release in Lagowski's discography and one of the best releases in Zoharum catalogue. This release is presented in 6-panel ecopak and is strictly limited to 300 copies worldwide.. $12.00

Leila Abdul-Rauf & Tor Lundvall - Ibis/Quiet Seaside 7inch ( Dais: DAIS058)
Over the past few years, Tor Lundvall has thoughtfully displayed his ambient sound works in connection with Dais Records, releasing two retrospective multi-disc box sets and two full length albums. Apart from his collaboration with Tony Wakeford on Autumn Calls, collaborations with others have been extremely rare. Tor and multi-instrumentalist, Leila Abdul-Rauf (Vastum / Hammers of Misfortune / formerly of Amber Asylum) first got in touch in late 2011. Their exchanges eventually led to a musical collaboration of both like-minded artists joining in to illustrate their unique and personal visions of nature, life and art.
During a visit to Lundvall’s home in May 2012, Leila wrote a spontaneous track on Tor’s Winter Piano entitled Ibis. Tor recorded and engineered the track along with Leila’s vocals. Later that month, Lundvall added various sounds and ambient washes to the mix. A solo version of Ibis, featuring the original piano / vocals but with additional horn, was released on Abdul-Rauf’s debut LP Cold and Cloud on Saadi Saati Records in 2013 (Lundvall also designed the sleeve and created the cover art for this LP). The earlier, collaborative version of Ibis has remained unreleased until now. It was agreed that a 7″ was the perfect format.
On the reverse, Lundvall has written a new piece entitled Quiet Seaside constructed around Abdul-Rauf’s guitar riffs which Lundvall also recorded during her 2012 visit. The track captures Tor’s signature lush keyboard and ambient whirl. The early mix was sent to Leila who worked in her slow-moving brass performance and textured tone scales to make this work as introspective as it is beautiful.Limited edition of 300 vinyl copies featuring artwork by Tor Lundvall. $9.00

Dark ambient currents and growls, padded with strings and angelic voices, are interrupted by effected voices, tribal/industrial percussion and sound effects. In 1992, Lustmord and Clock Dva founder Adi Newton forged 'The Monstrous Soul', a follow-up to the seminal 'Heresy'. unlike its predecessor, The Monstrous Soul didn't use field recordings from crypts, etc., instead relying on extensive digital recording, sounds sourced and manipulated from military surplus sound generators and spoken word samples. Expanding on the previous album which created a literal hell - here there is a more surreal realm. The five tracks continually engage the listener with carefully timed events that permeate the haunting sonic landscapes fading out into quiet yet menacing dissonance. undeniably a master of sonic darkness, and established as such early on. Lustmord - Zoetrope ( Ant-Zen: Act305)
Inspired by the Franz Kafka short story 'In the Penal Colony,' Zoetrope presents the haunting visions of a man imprisoned within the inner depths of his own mind. He tries to escape his torturer's talon grips, only to discover the truth about himself and the world of oppression which has driven him to this inescapable fate. Consisting of both the music and extensive sound design of the movie, melded and mutated to recapture the atmospheric nightmare of the world that is Zoetrope, where walls breath and dreams become nightmares. Originally conceived as a two month music and sound design project, it quickly evolved into a three year journey into madness, as Zoetrope the movie became a complex exercise in pure cinema and sound.
In this score, Brian Williams maintains the focus on aleatoric sound manipulations made of echoing effects, tormented voices, industrial artifacts and slightly neglect the specific rumbling and layered electronic textures that were heavily substantial in his previous efforts.. $14.50

Maldur Atai - Umbra Nihili I ( Autarkeia: MTXCD07)
After nearly two years of silence, Maldur Atai returns with a "retrospective" remix album – Umbra Nihili I. This is the first record of the project, released under the Moontrix label. So far, four albums and three short vinyls of Maldur Atai have been released by Autarkeia.
Born in early 2010, an idea of remix album was transforming and evolving along with the microstages of Maldur Atai activity. The concept of the Umbra Nihili album series was inspired and framed by the perception that every aspect of reality is divided into two sides only until the mechanical moon-shaped puzzle found in mystic temples of Nepal is solved. It is a moment of change and endeavour to reassess the previous heights and abysses and to start a new cycle with one more opportunity to unfold the riddle of the last tabula rasa.
The sound system of Maldur Atai is a result of integration of various approaches and energy parts composing them. While designing the Umbra Nihili I, it was designed to involve as many factors as possible to influence the final structure of work. It is no coincidence that ultimate shape of the album concept was formed by friends from Lithuania (Oorchach, Skeldos, Pogrom), America (Voice Of Eye), and Sweden – (Deutsch Nepal). Final sound adjustments were made by Colin Potter, a magician of electronic music. A diverse yet cohesive collection of sounds, mostly living in the realm of the sublime, ambient and hypnotic, with periodic diversions into more abrasive areas.. $13.77

Mars - Blood Is the Food of the Gods ( Lichterklang: LK024)
MARS, a pagan brotherhood founded in 2011 (by :Golgatha: members), present their third release after the folk-debut ‘Sons of Cain’ and the powerful vinyl-e.p. ‘Sacrifice’. Inspired by American pagan folk and apocalyptic philosophy the sound of MARS is dominated by purely acoustic arrangements using guitars, various percussions and two male voices. Their drum-driven hymns tell of the persisting powers of nature, of the ancient breath of the gods and of the Eternal Cyclic Law of life. This is no simple escapism into dreamy realms, it’s a multifaceted journey into the subconscious parts of the human spirit, driven by pounding rhythms and accentuated guitars.
With ‘Blood is the Food of the Gods’ MARS has become a powerful force in the European pagan underground. Their songs are energetic rituals to awaken the forgotten powers.

Mars - Sacrifice 12inch E.P. ( Lichterklang: LK020)
MARS is the psychedelic pagan folk brotherhood that arose from the ashes of the well-known ritual folk band :Golgatha: and presents a unique and powerful new vision of ecstatic music to awaken ancient spiritual energies by guitars, drums, viola and two male voices. Four energetic and, at times, melancholic folk songs culminate in a final track of noisy ritualism called “Ignition”. The songs focus on the continuous failings of mankind (“Icarus Falling”), the essence of blood sacrifice (“Sacrifice”), the Northern heritage (“Northern Cold”) and the loss of spiritual awareness (“Don’t you ever Feel”). After the puristic debut-album Sons of Cain, the new MARS E.P., Sacrifice, is a cycle of hymns to the old gods, including a folky version of “Northern Cold” by Canadian Black Metal band Woods of Ypres and a new interpretation of “Icarus Falling” by :Golgatha:. The one-sided 12” is limited to 250 copies and features an exclusive and beautiful Runic artwork by German painter Nadine O. Demmler.. $17.00

Maurizio Bianchi - Amentest 7inch ( Dais: DAIS57)
The late 70′s rejection of punk and rock-oriented music within select underground subcultures was signified by the works of of bands like Throbbing Gristle, Cabaret Voltaire and Whitehouse. Using their network of record labels and propaganda, these like-minded noise makers created a sound and aesthetic that is known far and wide as something quite English. But in Italy, a storm was slowly brewing in the works of a lone composer by the name of Maurizio Bianchi. Starting in 1979, Bianchi formed his earliest sketches of abstract loop composition under the pseudonym Sacher-Pelz. After only a few months, he felt it was time to start producing more conceptual works under his given name, sometimes shortening his authorship to only MB. The following years saw some of industrial and ambient music’s most genre defining works. Rumors surrounded a series of mischievous unauthorized releases only to be contradicted by his humble and earnest willingness to collaborate with other like minded composers coincidentally followed up by his ominous “disappearance” from music during the late 80′s / early 90′s. His various comebacks always showed MB to be the master of his own device who undoubtedly influenced and inspired thousands of musicians, artists and composers with his creative output. Most recently, MB has been reflective on his 35 year history in music and the impact he has had on it. His recent works show MB as undoubtedly reflective yet remaining persistently original.
Amentest is Bianchi’s most recent work employing the 7” single format, a medium that MB has only dabbled in briefly. Keeping his abrasive rhythmic sounds, beautiful use of delay patterns and selective subject matters at hand, MB’s genius still shows that he is as relevant today as he was back when he was quietly manufacturing his echoed sound sculptures in the foothills of Italy in 1979.
Limited to 300 copies. Edited by Kris Lapke (Alberich) with artwork by Ryan Martin (York Factory Complaint / Dais).. $9.00

Mauthausen Orchestra - 2nd Movement LP ( Urashima: UMA065)
Continue reprints of the amazing tapes by Pierpaolo Zoppo aka Mauthausen Orchestra released on Aquilifer Sodality in the early eighties. Tape after tape Mauthausen Orchestra constitute, in a few years, the backbone of what we will know as an alienating and extremist style, made of metal nightmares and sonic torture , often dilated, dissected and extended up to the limit of endurance. 2nd Movement carry us, once again, as real rituals of a civilization without gods, in a pure world of suffering. Infinite modulations towards a sky that has now disappeared and locked in concrete. A fierce nihilism that overflows into the undefined territory between mind and matter, marking our brains and our skin. A single act of sensory rape trying to deconstruct any rational particle that approaching the sound composition. Mauthausen Orchestra was one of the most important musical projects of the Italian industrial scene and has contributed to the birth of the power electronics and harsh noise across the globe. Mesektet - Towards a Bleak Sun ( Cold Spring: CSR191)
Ancient Egypt inspired, monolithic drone/dark ambient. Mesektet created rumbling earth drones that echo through caverns and temples. Vast swathes of ominous drones, primordial vibrations, and ceremonial ambience take you on an immersive journey to the Netherworld. The name ‘Mesektet’ comes from one of the two boats which the Egyptian solar deity Ra travelled in: Mandjet was his ‘morning boat’, and Mesektet the ‘evening boat’. Ra used Mesektet as a boat to travel back to the Netherworld from a long day of shining. The deity’s travels were an inspiration for the essence and rich sound of “Towards a Bleak Sun”. Monno - Cheval Ouvert ( Idiosyncratics: IDCD007)
Recorded by Roli Mossiman, former Swans drummer and mastermind producer ( Young Gods, The The, Celtic Frost, New Order, Skinny Puppy,..), during some bleak and cold December days in a Polish farm, and mastered by James Plotkin, Cheval Ouvert is probably Monno's most accomplished achievement to date as well as their most adventurous and challenging opus.
An intensely powerful, dark and introspective piece of pure sonic radicalism, Cheval Ouvert immerses the listener into a brutal typhoon of intense abstraction. Monolithic stabs of distorted saxophone, infinite loops of electronic madness and the devastating pairing of a melting low-end bass and mammoth-like drums resulting in a rock solid wall of ancestral evoking frequencies.
Frantic, energetic, and hypnotic at times times, dirge ridden and sludgy at others, this is wildly entertaining and engrossing stuff that deserves to be heard and recognized. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for fans of Swans, Sektor 304, Knife Ladder, Skullflower.. $13.99

Morthound - Mortology 1900-1996 5CD Boxset ( Raubbau: Raub022)
Raubbau goes about an ambitious enterprise with this extensive collection, not only re-releasing Morthound’s three seminal albums for Cold Meat Industry, but also the sought-after debut cassette, all five exclusive compilation tracks known to man and ten unreleased tracks as well - the entire legacy of what was Benny Nilsen’s dark musical past. These five discs cover the 6-year-lifespan of Morthound and showcase its remarkable metamorphosis from an outlet for noisy juvenile experiments over eerie death industrial and refined dark ambient, via gothic-tinged songs and soundscapes to metal-infused tracks. Raubbau has always had a soft spot for artists from the small Swedish industrial town of Nyköping, like Negru Voda, Deaf Machine and The Protagonist, and now here’s Benny Nilsen, possibly the most productive among the lot. he started Morthond (originally without the 'u') as a 15-year-old and released the 'Death Time' cassette on the Cold Meat sublabel Sound Source just a year later - a sought-after collectors item today. What followed then were three seminal CDs for CMI (that have long been unavailable as well) on which Nilsen kept reinventing the Morthound style before he called it quits in 1996. He then continued to work under the 'Hazard' moniker before taking to his actual name, releasing mostly on the British cult label Touch. Nilsen, having meanwhile relocated to Berlin, is nowadays recognized as a leading artist in the area of field recordings and electronica with a sophisticated, academic approach. Even though Morthound has long been put to rest, one should not underestimate its relevance, as all three CMI albums have had an enormous impact: 'This Crying Age' still sounds a great dark ambient album today, but its release was actually nothing less than a formative act for the genre; 'Spindrift' with its lush atmospheres and vocals helped experimental music to break into a much wider scene (you would even hear Morthound on goth dance floors at the time), and 'The Goddess Who Could Make the Ugly World Beautiful' with its heavy guitar riffs helped establish the mutual interest between the industrial and the underground metal scenes. Morthound was deservedly regarded as one of the leading artists on CMI in the label’s heyday and also performed his music live at the time to great acclaim. it was about time someone made the effort to re-introduce this genre-defining - and genre-defying - classic Swedish act in all its glorious entirety… that’s mortology! Exquisite packaging - black heavy-cardboard box including 8 page booklet + 5 cd's in black gatefold sleeves with copper print.. $55.00

Nordvargr/Drakh - The Betrayal of Light ( tUMULt: TM373)
Long overdue re-stock!! The two have some dark chemistry together, weaving elaborate worlds of black sound, not just ambience, not just drone music, but songs, with parts, and riffs and melodies, lots of guitars, occasionally trudging glacially like some slow motion doom behemoth, other times buzzing like some disembodied ghost of black metal, and at others, glistening and drifting in vast expanses of shimmer and whir. The Betrayal Of Light was originally meant to be released on several well known dark ambient labels, who all rejected the record for being too heavy, and for having too much guitar, and that's pretty much all tUMULt needed to hear. Nordvargr, Drakh, too heavy, too much guitar.... Thus it ended up on tUMULt, quite possibly where it belonged all along, fitting quite comfortably amidst a roster of black metal and drone musicks, embodying at least a handful of descriptors that seem to apply to most things on tUMULt, dark, droney, and fucked.... $9.00

Northaunt & Svartsinn - The Borrowed World LP/CD ( LOKI: PAS34LP)
Inspired by Cormac Mc Carthy´s novel 'The Road', the two Norwegian masterminds Haerleif Langas and Jan Roger Petterson joined forces to create this stunning split album. This release brings finally new recordings since Northaunt´s 'Horizon' from 2006 and Svartsinn´s 'Elegies for the End' from 2009 (both CDs released on Cyclic Law).
'The Borrowed World' is the soundtrack for a world in decay, directed by the emotive and grandly melancholic signature of both projects. This is isolationist ambient music that unfolds its meditative atmosphere with majestic and melodic waves of droning sounds, environmental field recordings from the icy landscapes of the deepest North and magnificent Cello recordings of Amund Ulvestad.
The ashes of the late world carried on the bleak and temporal winds to and fro in the void. Carried forth and scattered and carried forth again. Everything uncoupled from it's shoring. Unsupported in the ashen air. Sustained by a breath, trembling and brief. If only my heart were stone.
This is the gatefold vinyl version that includes the CD as well in slip case. Limited to 300 copies.. $23.00

Objekt/Urian - Agitprop-Proclaimed at Maschinenfest CS ( Raubbau: Raub23)
Agitprop is the live recording of Objekt/Urian at Maschinenfest 2012. The Darmstadt duo never fails to engage each and every witness of their unparalleled stage art. Their creations center on noise as we love it at its best, feeding into our insatiable need for aggressive electronic compositions that we finally can enjoy over and over again. Objekt/Urian stands for rock solid industrial and power electronics based on analog instruments that generate the soundscapes blazing from our speakers. Both aggressors behind Objekt/Urian establish an immense variety of harsh and yet sophisticated rhythms paired with revolting lyrical statements. 'Who Attacked First Dies as a Second' - breaching through every hostile line they leave their imprint wherever they are on stage while they lay their fingers directly into the wounds of society. Cutting through our comfort zone like a rusty blade, their shows demand political and historical awareness as they extend their concerts to nothing short of revolutionary. The captivating atmosphere of the Maschinenfest lies within this musical highlight immortalized on tape, a consummate setting for the summit of Objekt/Urians agitation tour. Rewind to 2012!. $13.99

Phelios - Gates of Atlantis ( Malignant: TumorCD70)
The first new recording from Phelios since 2010’s highly acclaimed Astral Unity, finds Martin Stürtzer in fine form, creating yet another masterwork of meticulously crafted, richly detailed cosmic doom. Very few acts, if any, are more adept at composing such epically scaled atmospheres and Gates of Atlantis once again sets the bar impossibly high, offering up a multi-colored tapestry of sweeping sounds, full of majestic, nebulous drones and ominous strings, propelled forth by rising waves of tribal percussion and more earthen, textural darkness. The scope and breadth of the 7 tracks here truly transcends dark ambience, and the sheer weight and complexity of sound is nothing short of awe inspiring. A triumphant return from one of the genre’s great practitioners. In 6 panel eco-wallet with artwork by Pär Boström (Kammarheit) and mastered by Secret Lab.. $11.00

Philipp Münch & Loss - Transcontinental Desperation ( Ant-Zen: Act295)
Consolidates the essence of two outstanding individuals: Philipp Münch who has made himself a name both as a solo artist and as a member of countless projects, and Dan Fox a.k.a. Loss, a highly regarded veteran of the noise music scene. When Philipp and Dan met in person a mutual artistic respect was the spark for a collaborative effort and resulted in a transcontinental interchange of inspiration and sound files. After processing each other's basic tracks, the final release clearly showcases both participants' distinctive style as well as the uniqueness of this creative amalgamation.
As the album title indicates, 'Transcontinental Desperation' is an aural statement of distress, anger and doubt, where topics like injustice and overthrowing the media have been integrated into the voice samples and lyrics. The suspense buried in the sound textures transmits an emotional spectrum of dejection and subliminal aggression, executed with a variety of electronic and acoustic equipment. Dark ambient soundscapes are combined with clear and distorted beats, impulsive sequencer lines, abstract effects, manipulated vocals - all these components build a perfect bridge between minimal electro and contemporary industrial music.
'Transcontinental Desparation' deeply connects two exceptional performers for a haunting listening experience - an enthralling liaison which might well be continued some day... $14.50

Phurpa - Mantras of Bon ( Zoharum: Zohar075-2)
Phurpa is one of the most interesting recent music phenomena. Founded by Alexey Tegin, they create meditative music with roots in the ancient pre-buddhist tradition BON. Their concerts resemble shamanic mysteria where sounds, singing and rhythms invoke trance-like states, introducing the listeners into the realm of dead gods and the times of culture long since passed. The musicians themselves stress the spiritual nature of their activity.
One can look for a similar band in vain - a band that approaches the sound matter and its creation in such an accurate way. They use traditional instruments, but also human bones found in Tibetan wastelands. They meditate and practice the way of singing called "rgyud-skad."The magic and strength of their music has been appreciated by Stephen O'Malley among others, who released one of their albums on his own label.
Zoharum presents the latest album by the band entitled "Mantras of Bon." It is an extraordinary release, even for such an extraordinary and unusual project as Phurpa. More than 70 minutes of music, divided into two parts. The first, featuring Alissa Nicolai on vocals, shows the band from a completely different angle; the other one presents the most important and interesting sessions recorded over the past few years, with a recording from CTM festival where they impressed the audience with "kuntunzangpo."
"Mantras of Bon" is an excellent introduction into the adventures with Phurpa, the world of Tibetan music filtered by contemporary reinterpretation free from rigid rules. It may enchant both those looking for interesting sacral music and the ones searching for a new form of sonic statement. This 3-panel ecopak release is strictly limited to 500 copies.

Post Scriptvm is a New York-based Russian act that operates on the fringes of the original industrial, experimental, ambient and power electronics genres. The project's sound is repeatedly referenced as some of the darkest and most cinematic music in these fields. Their 5th full-length album is a heavy entanglement of morbid, rough-edged analogue industrial structures, warped samples, and eerie, hypnotizing ambient, submerged in otherworldly, mystical atmospheres. "Benommenheit" contemplates earthly existence as a ghostly, tenebrous moment between eternities. Raison D'’Etre - Requiem for Abandoned Souls (Expanded) 2CD ( Old Europa Café: OECD198)
The expanded edition of 'Requiem for Abandoned Souls' contains the original disc with a bonus track and a second disc with material from various live performances from 2003 and 2004. As with the original release (Cold Meat Industry 2003) the artwork consists of images of abandoned places photographed by Henk van Rensbergen, but instead of being presented with five different layouts all the original images are included in the one and only layout. 'Requiem for Abandoned Souls' is a kind of climax, a career peak that all previous albums pointed up to, where the music sets a perfect backdrop for the theme as spelled out by the album title. The key to understanding Andersson's vision for this album lies in the track titles; read separately, or taken together as a poem. The toll of a church bell escorts the listener on an existential voyage through the world according to Raison d'être, a bleak place populated by shadowy souls abandoned of all hope. But don't let that scare you away, because this remarkably beautiful collection of songs is a true remedy in this age of chaos; when the outside withers away, the inside fills with emptiness, and there's nothing left to believe in.As with the paths previously forged, sacral and arcane religious undertones permeate all aspects of the music. Awash with reverberating drones, metallic nuisances, discordant chimes, haunting chorals and sub- orchestral movements, the forlorn atmospheres unfold over the expanse of the tracks.. $16.66

Rapoon - The Fires of the Borderlands 2CD ( Zoharum: Zohar067-2)
It's been 16 years since the release of Rapoon's masterpiece entitled "The Fires of the Borderlands". It is arguably his best known work and still much appreciated by both old fans of his music as well as new-comers. Long out-of-print and much sought after, this classic has now received a well-deserved expanded reissue treatment.
Originally, "The Fires of the Borderland" was comprised of 11 tracks full of evocative ambient sonic textures. These sounds generated images of desert lands somewhere in uncharted countries in Africa or the Middle East suspended in time. It is a chronicle of those lands which was found buried in the scorching sands. You can almost feel the texture of it in every second of this album which conjures up ghosts of people from those lands with writhing snakes at their feet.
This special edition is comprised of two discs. The first is the main album which is mastered from the original tapes, therefore, it sounds significantly better to the 1998 version. The bonus disc is a 40-minute live recording for the San Francisco-based radio KFJC which again proves that Robin Storey has mastered the ability to creating haunting sonic atmospheres.
This expanded edition of the album is packaged in a digipak sleeve and is limited to 500 copies worldwide.. $17.66

Raunacht - Waldeinsamkeit mCD ( Percht: Percht18)
"Waldeinsamkeit" is completely based on the lyrics and sounds of STURMPERCHT, the legendary creators of Alpine Folk music. This mini-Album with a playingtime of 28 minutes was in fact recorded BEFORE the debut album "Vorweltschweigen", but due to unknown reasons never finished. In autumn 2012 the band was able to complete the recordings, so that we could finally release this pearl of finest Alpineblackmetal now. RAUHNACHT is a dark journey through deep forests and misty mountains, full of Alpine Battle Hymns and grim Martial Anthems for mountain trolls. "Waldeinsamkeit" (means: forest solitude) is deeply engrained in alpine mysticism, ancient pagan rites and heathen legends around strange fairies and wild folks. This sinister album entrains you to arcane mountains, dark chasms and gloomy underwood and guides you to the most secret places in the very depth of the holy Central European Alps, where wild hunters meet creepy creatures from dusk til dawn. $10.66

Re-DrUm/B°tong - Split ( Zoharum: Zohar065-2)
Split album between Russian RE-DRUM and Swiss B°TONG. Each project has prepared 30 minutes for this special release.
Avid Zoharum observers already know Pavel Aleshin's project called Re-DrUm. 5 years ago we released his album "S" and it was our 7th release. In the meantime, he has been touring extensively plus released one full album, a digital EP and offered his music on a split release with Rovar17. Now Pavel returns to Zoharum with 3 new tracks of contemplative nature. They are full of slow acoustic sounds and field recordings. His sound on "Hush!" is less droney than on "S", but much more organic and laid-back.
The second part of this release belongs to Chris Sigdell and his renowned project b°tong. In contrast to Re-DrUm, "Ascending in the Light of an Alien Sun" is a different affair - a dark, brooding affair full of oily drones and treated sounds. Again, composed of 3 songs, it takes you on a trip to the desolate factory inhabited with ghosts of its previous owners.
This special project is released in a mini-vinyl sleeve and is strictly limited to 400 copies worldwide.. $12.00

Regosphere/The Vomit Arsonist - Split 7 inch ( Obfuscated Records: OR15)
Newly relocated back in Oregon, Regosphere brings a heavy dose of his Anxiety-Electronics in a lurching, claustrophobic track that delves further into the off kilter rhythms, oozing synths, bowed metal screech and punishing vocals that have been surfacing on the past few split tapes and recent live shows. Putting aside some of the more psychedelic elements of past works and focusing more on the feeling of pure dread this track is one of his heaviest and most focused to date. Cancer is the new grim reaper...Hailing from Rhode Island and coming hot off the heels of his new full-length on Malignant, The Vomit Arsonist lays down one of the bleakest death-industrial tracks ever committed to vinyl for this split. Andy is well known for his solo work as TVA as well as being a member of the long running power electronics outfit Bereft and running the Danvers State tape label since 2008. Slow burn bass throbs lay the foundation for somber scorching synths, junk metal abuse and absolutely crushing vocals. Pain is the way...Pro-printed glossy b/w covers with black and silver labels. Fucking insanely good new material from Sektor that takes things to a new level, even by their standards. All full studio recordings and mastered by James Plotkin, “Engage... Forwards” is urgent and driving, with relentless percussion segueing into killer bass riffage and eventual scrap metal chaos. This captures the early frantic style of Dissecting Table, adds in some SPK and Test Dept. composition skills, and yet still delivers that uniquely Sektor 304 sound. "Voodo Machine" is dirgey and unyielding with plodding, rigid percussion and an ominous vibe. Absolutely brilliant artwork by Andre Coelho with the music to match. Lmtd 200 copies.

S.E.T.I. - Final Trajectory ( Power & Steel: Pas35)
The new album of Andrew Lagowski's S.E.T.I. begins as a colossal sound wall, like a massive electrical transformer, out of which analogue and digital synthesizer sounds and samples emerge, condense, and crossfade into a deep ambient symphony. The recordings and textures produced over 30 years from 1983-2013 converge in 'Final Trajectory' to produce a collection of monolithic sounds. Invoking a sense of immensity with warm and dark atmospheric loops sounding distant and abandoned in a vast wilderness, battling against galactic winds. S.E.T.I. sets the listener down in this wilderness as an isolated observer; a witness to long intertwining drones, shattered dialogue and broken transmissions, with superior effects chains and a gentle rising dramaturgy forcing the complete album to an astonishing pure data vortex.
As the Voyager spacecraft reaches the outer edge of our Solar System it is a fitting time to imagine the exodus from Earth of the last human being on their final trajectory towards an unknown future. There has been little effort made to prepare psychologically for this one way trip and hallucinatory voices and sounds flit around the traveler, mingling with those of the craft’s entertainment, propulsion and life support systems. Life memories, encounters and events break through the cracks of rational thought like dream fragments, in bursts of barely unrecognizable data. As the craft passes through the mid point of our planetary system on its way out, the occupant thinks they hear a message being transmitted from Earth on the permanently scanning radio receiver.….
Will this be real in our lifetimes? Is the craft being built already in the knowledge that we have little time left on this planet?
If so, where to next?. $13.88

Sewer Election - Nära LP ( Jartecknet: Jart25)
Gothenburg´s finest is back with another full length recording, offering a delicate and puzzling experience, showing new aspects to the audial works of Sewer Election. Chilling oscillating drones and field recordings woven into an intricate mixture, presenting a more personal sound than ever.Comes with bigger inlay with extensive liner notes by Matthias Andersson. Released in 350 copies.
“Instigated with “Kassettmusik” (iDEAL, 2008) and its suffocating minimalism, carefully elaborated into the brutish musique concréte of “Bristning” (RTB, 2009) to later fully blossom into the crude reel-to-reel odysseys of “Vidöppna Sår” (PAN, 2010) and “Vittra Sönder” (Throne Heap, 2012), “Nära” pretty much feels like the perfect culmination of the Sewer Election explorations of the last five years or so. Perhaps the most laid back and mellow Sewer Election so far, “Nära” blends the now very beautifully executed tape-manipulations with sparse oscillating tones and a heavy but at the same time subtle use of everyday life recordings from the near surroundings.” Matthias Andersson, Fördämning Fanzine - April 2014. $24.00

Shock Frontier - Mancuerda Confessions ( Malignant: TumorCD64)
Founded some time during 2010, Shock Frontier is the brainchild of Psychomanteum’s Robert Kozletski. Born from an increasing interest in harsher industrial sounds, and aided by long time friend Kyle Carney (Defiantly Fading), Mancuerda Confessions is an expertly composed and finely honed collection of shape shifting, nightmarish emissions and radioactive tonalities, drawing inspiration from some of the early death industrial pioneers, but adding an unique, densely layered and atmospheric style. This is a soundtrack to a world that ends not in a cataclysmic, fiery fashion, but one that slowly decays and rots into oblivion, where swathes of ghostly textures, samples, and disembodied noises morph into murky ambient realms, and caustic frequency reverberations pierce through a bleak, post-apocalyptic haze. After 19 years in existence, it’s arguable that a definitive Malignant sound exists, but if it does, Shock Frontier has managed to come awfully close to capturing it with Mancuerda Confessions. A must for fans of Megaptera, Steel Hook Prostheses, Soldnergeist, and the early CMI sound. In 6 panel eco-wallet, designed by Brian Vdp, and mastered by John Stillings/Steel Hook Audio.Tracklisting: Paroxysm, Angels Upon Iron Horses, Blood Eagle Zealot, The Confessional, Controlled Atmosphere Killing (feat. It's a heavily pounding and rotten-sounding industrial anthem that takes a venomous look at modern world and its plutocratic madness. On side B we get a brief scrap metal (et al.) exercise "Teeth pt.2" and an industrial folk ballad "Angel Smith" that is Sick Seed's tribute to Jandek, one of the greatest outsider musicians in the world. This is a powerful and emotional 7".Cover art by Si Clark.. $13.00

Re-stock of this CD from Christian Corvellec, known most recently for his collaborative work with Frederic Arbour as Skorneg. A whole assortment of subtle electronic pulsations are concocted here by Christian, always adequately supporting the sound fabrics woven by Martin Dumais, and which also are their starting point. A light at the end of the tunnel, penetrating different fissures along the walls, penetrating our mind with echoes. One only has to imagine a minimal tech project gone the drone-ocean way… pulsations are always there, but tinged with a sonic fog that is heavy, damp and fluid at the same time and which always suggests, in the end, uncertain twists and turns in this crossing of tunnels. Collaborative effort between Frédéric Arbour of famed dark ambient label Cyclic Law and his solo project Visions, and Montreal based ambient/experimental project, Skinwell. Musically, it brings us 4 tracks of massively scaled power drones, barren ambience, and black hole atmospherics, each piece starting in a more minimal fashion, then slowing escalating into a hypnotic spectrum of melting drift, ascending and descending tones, and undercurrents of distant industrial churn. Only time will tell if this is a one off project, but for now, drone enthusiasts and dark ambient purists can unite and revel in this fantastic offering. 4 panel digipak, lmtd 500 copies.. $10.00

MASTERY is improvised one man cosm(ag)ick from Ephemeral Domignostika. Re-stock, Two CD set; Visit containing 12 all new tracks, Revisit containing a collection of tracks previously released in very small quantities, and representing the initial straight brutality Slogun is known for.
At any rate, I really love the direction John has been taking between this release and the last release, We Human Animal. There's more diversity here, and overall, it's less harsh, and yet equally as intense, the wall of noise replaced by something cleaner but more precise and definitely more atmospheric. In other words, you'll find more similarities to European p.e. than what you'd normally associate with Slogun, but there's no denying the power and fervid, aggressive energy on display. The vocals are even more up front and play an even more integral part in the overall sound. TeHÔM - Lacrimae Mundi ( Cyclic Law: 67thCycle)
Active in the mid 90's, Croatia's TeHÔM has been resurrected in the past years by original member Miljenko Rajakovic. Their first 2 albums were released on Twilight Command, side label of Douglas P's NER label. TeHÔM's founding member Sinisa Ocurscak unfortunately passed away in 1997, victim of a probable war related cancer. 3 years after his passing their 2nd album, and what was thought to be their last, "Theriomorphic Spirits' was finally released. The project was then laid to rest and years later finally revived. A very surreal, obscure and cinematic sounding opus has been created by Miljenko, following closely in the footsteps of previous works but now taking the project to new levels. Yet always in keeping with Sinisa's vision and in honor of his memory and spirit. Artwork By Dehn Sora.

Terra Sancta - Exile ( Malignant: TumorCD69)
6 years have passed since the last full length Terra Sancta release, and time has treated Australia’s preeminent dark ambient export well. Exile finds Greg Good revisiting some of the more orchestral elements that made up his Malignant debut, Aeon, but wrapping them up in the sweeping, sand blasted drones and windswept textures that defined the latter releases, Disintegration and the 2011’s CDEP, Sunken|Buried|Forgotten. The interplay is perfectly conceptualized and executed…immense, lightless ambience with piercing slivers of beauty and serenity breaking through dense clouds of swirling dust and monoliths of blackened synth hum. What has stayed constant is the massive scale in which Terra Sancta operates. This is at once majestic and panoramic, yet desolate and abyssal, drifting in varied and continuous shades of desert and earthen colors, the track titles revealing the nature of the sounds: Empire of Ashes..., ...Kingdom of Dust, Celestial Extinction (featuring Rasalhague), The Desolate Land, Descent II, Vanishing Point, End Path. In beautiful 6 panel eco-wallet designed by Kerry Braud (Rasalhague/Maculatum).. $10.77

Theologian - Some Things Have to Be Endured ( Crucial Blast: CBR104)
Re-stock! The latest offering from NY synth-death master Theologian (aka Leech, also the mastermind behind the renowned power electronics/death industrial outfit Navicon Torture Technologies), Some Things Have To Be Endured features eight new tracks of punishing black industrial, apocalyptic darkwave frequencies, and nerve-rending electronic deathscapes. Endured is a collection of collaborations between Theologian and a lineup of female vocalists/artists from both within the industrial / noise / dark ambient / coldwave realm and beyond, with contributions from Rachael Kozak (Hecate), Kristen MacArthur (Sewer Goddess), Rachel Maloney (Tonikom), Nikki Telladictorian (Prometheus Burning), Patricia Benitez (Fetish Drone), Gillian Leigh Bowling (Teloahqaal), Christiana Key (Delphic Oracle), Joan Hacker (Factoria), Shari Vari (Void Vision), and professional opera singer Melissa C. Kelly. The tracks shift from grinding industrial dread to ethereal coldwave beauty, blasts of rumbling blackened synthcrush met with washes of haunting electronic melody, while always remaining rooted in Theologian's bleak, jet-black industrial sound. Co-produced with Derek Rush/DREAM INTO DUST and mastered by James Plotkin, Some Things Have To Be Endured contains some of the most moving and dramatic music to emerge from Theologian's black sonic abyss, and the album comes adorned with striking photography by Ione Rucquoi that makes this one of the more visually arresting releases in Theologian's growing catalog.. $10.00

Theologian & STROM.ec - Hubrizine ( Malignant: TumorCD68)
Proper and overdue re-issue of a limited edition 12cassette on Annihilvs released back in 2012. Hubrizinewas two years in the making and features sourcematerial by Finland's mighty STROM.ec, undoubtedlyheralded as masters of the PE oeuvre, as reinterpretedand re-engineered by Theologian, in celebration of ashared appreciation for the works of Philip K. Dick. From the opening moments, what immediately strikesyou is that this probably isn't what you thought itwas going to be, given the history of both acts.Sure, there are a good deal of passages of volatilityand focused intensity as you might expect, but theyare complimented by an equal amount of passages ofhallucinatory ambience and cold, serene atmospherics. It's this very dichotomy that makes this such amasterful recording, and listening to it one sittingbecomes almost mandatory just to wrap your head aroundthe mind fuckery that unravels over its 7 tracks, ascelestial drift and horizon filling textures collidewith sudden eruptions of militantly hostile vocals, machine clatter, blistering frequency pulsations andwrithing distortion. The title track is clearly thecenterpiece here...an epic and sprawling 18 minutetrack of climatic and shimmering drones thatdisintegrates into corrosive generator hum andcontorted loops with an insane vocal outburst thatrivals any STROM.ec output ever created. Hubrizineclearly takes heavy electronics in a direction wherefew have dared go, and few will ever match. In fold out presentation folder with artwork by Andre Coelho(Sektor 304).. $10.00

The Rita - Ballet Feet Positions ( Old Europa Café: OECD193)
The Rita’s new full length work is a complex work of obsessive research on discipline, elite beauty, and suffering in the world of Ballet. The first of 2 lengthy tracks slowly builds up over-the-top harsh noise machinery that brings Sam McKinlay’s (BT.HN, Vice Wears Black Hose, Black To Comm) classic trademark that crowned him as the godfather of harsh noise wall, with a monolithic build up of violence and intensity. The second track is a power electronics rework of the the same sounds executed by Insubria hostile electronic unit CALIGULA031 that mixed all material with analogue / modular sounds and in your face vocals, underlining different possibilities of textural processing. The original sound sources are from Vancouver's Kelly Davis, who rigorously went through various feet positions and movements of classical ballet while a Traumatone contact microphone was rigged with a knee support brace to the side of her knee / thigh to capture the sounds of any hint of movement. McKinlay finds that the totemic fetishism and the subtle resonances of the female voice as they describe the topic(s) help to bury the listener into all that is woman, especially as the samples shift into the symmetry of a female dancer’s recorded movement. Ltd x 300 copies in a digipak, with a 12-page book including text from SImone Paget and Marco Deplano (Wertham).. $14.00

T.O.M.B. - Pennhurst/Xesse ( Crucial Blast: CBR108)
Pennhurst / Xesse is a new collection of rare material from the shadowy black industrial outfit T.O.M.B., featuring their ultra-limited Pennhurst album and the tracks from the one-sided Xesse 12" previously released on Prison Tatt. Featuring all new artwork and presented in a six-panel digipack, this full-length disc delivers over an hour's worth of the band's bizarre brand of vile electro-acoustic noisescapes, oppressive industrial drift and ghoulish vocalizations seemingly dredged up from the dank black bowels of some long-abandoned mausoleum.
Originally released in 2009 as an extremely limited CDR on Esto Perpetua Records, Pennhurst features five tracks of abysmal necro-industrial filth, formed from source material that the band recorded at the notorious Pennhurst State and Norristown State Hospitals, two Philadelphia-area mental asylums that have boasted disturbing legacies of abuse and experimentation in the past. As with their other releases, this centers around nightmarish industrial soundscapes built from the band's blighted blackened electronics and creepy field recordings, the tracks often erupting into blasts of suffocating hellish noise. The throbbing black distorted synthesizers that pulse across opener "Primevil Sorcery" rumble forth like waves of black lava, the band's signature suffocating bass frequencies rolling across fields of agonized, wraithlike screaming and crackling volcanic noise, while percussive metallic sounds echo and clatter in the depths, a miasma of abyssal sound that swirls and shudders in the darkness, revealing horrific aural details, eruptions of deformed blown-out melody and bursts of nightmarish agony within the massive, churning chaos that stretches out for nearly twelve minutes. As that stygian roar rumbles right into "Maz Ov Tha Damd", the band surges into a primal tattoo of ritualistic rhythm, pounding primordial drums thundering beneath their layered noise and field recordings and amplified metallic reverberations, blending a brutal improvisational percussive assault with more of that suffocating black noise, demonic shrieks and foul reptilian screams rupturing in the blackness, the sound growing more monstrous and violent as the drums give way to abrasive sheet-metal abuse. The nearly twenty five minute "Goetic Xaos" is the centerpiece of Pennhurst, another sprawling sonic nightmare of processed acoustic percussion and infernal drone, the sound dense and swirling and psychedelic, infested with stretches of slithering black ambience and deep tectonic reverberations that rumble deep below the surface, the air alive with ghostly found sounds and harsh metallic abrasions, warped transmissions of ancient voudou drumming and demonic EVP. The wailing voices that drift out of that thunderous din seep into the short interlude "Audi Alteram Partem", which almost resembles some demented Diamanda Galas piece lost in a fog of metallic skree and cathedral reverb, and then the album descends into the utterly monstrous title track, a blackened expanse of rotting electronics and crumbling concrete, the sound of entropy and psychological decay sped up into a blur of Merzbowian sonic horror that wraps up the disc. The whole thing adds up to one of T.O.M.B.'s most intense blasts of sonic terror.
The other half features T.O.M.B.'s Xesse, one of the band's more "ambient", droneological works. That's not to say that this is any less fearsome than the preceding tracks, though. This EP opens with a chorus of wailing voices, the sounds of abject suffering echoing and reverberating within some lightless underground crypt. A deep distant rumbling presence can be heard, just barely perceptible; it's quickly overcome by heavy waves of harsh crackling noise and fuzz that slowly sweep in and recede, washing away those screams of agony and leaving behind a residue of minimal, empty blackness in their place. From there, Xesse moves into crushing Lustmordian walls of drone, thick buzzing synthesizers rumbling under snarling, electronically-warped vocals and other demonic utterances, the synth dropping in and out as bits of minor key drift float in. Out of this growing graveyard chaos comes the sound of distorted chanting, sonic remnants of some unseen ritual taking place in the depths of T.O.M.B.'s soundscape. Heavier drones recede, leaving a cacophony of scraping metal noise and processed bass tones and what almost sounds like crushing, doom-laden guitars grinding deep in the murk. The recording constantly shifts between those placid lifeless drones and strange echoing graveyard rituals and the swells of hallucinatory heaviness, eventually giving way to some seriously mind-melting cosmic drift towards the end, the voices shifting from blasphemous ranting to garbled unknown tongues as it drifts out into an abyss of swirling dub effects, delicate chiming tones, and rhythmic metal pounding that finally erupts into frantic percussive chaos, the thunder of hammers on metal shaking the chthonic depths, then fading into silence.. $10.00

T.O.M.B. - Third Wave Holocaust ( Black Plagve: Infect13)
Active for over a decade and with releases on Fall of Nature, Todestrieb, and Crucial Blast, Pennsylvania’s T.O.M.B. has come to embody the spirit of what Black Plagve is and was started for, pushing sound to the extreme by taking elements of dark ambient, noise, metal and death industrial and assembling them into powerful, blackened occult rituals. Built around field recordings that consist of cemetery desecrations, live crematory incineration's and disturbing, abandoned insane asylum ceremonies, everything is misshapen and deformed, twisted and crafted into harrowing episodes of hallucinatory, blood soaked rituals, demonic incantations, and waves of foul smelling textures.
10 tracks in total, some, such as Clairvoyant Frequencies, Electric Exorcism, or Vulgarity, with their dense reverberating churn, necrotized tones, and over modulated frequency abuse, fall into the power electronics vein. Others, such as the tribalistic Vom Voodoo, Na La Gore Na, and Tribute to Hanhua, are drenched in unholy atmospherics, with buried rhythms, clanging percussion and deathchant vocalizations. It’s all held together with a clenched, rotten fist, moving and writhing in perfect unison over its 50 time frame.
Another strong and welcome addition to the growing Black Plagve roster and a resounding reason why T.O.M.B. remains at the forefront of the “black noise” movement.Recommended for fans of MZ.412, Gnaw Their Tongues, DEATHSTENCH.. $10.00

Tor Lundvall - The Shipyard LP ( Dais: DAIS031)
Tor Lundvall has graced us with yet another remarkable album this year. Previously, Lundvall had introduced himself to Dais with his masterpiece album Sleeping & Hiding and struck lightning twice with the resilient The Seasons Unfold box set and now we are humbled to be crafting the strings with the curation of his most recent effort. The Shipyard was recorded during the dramatic season change-over of ’09/’10, during which time Lundvall was immersing himself in portrait studies of local maritime themes and nautical life at the docks. This instrumental collection of songs composed the soundtrack to the final renderings of these conceptional ideas put side by side, for which semblance he is most know for. Trepaneringsritualen - Perfection & Permanence ( Cold Spring: CSR198CD)
Trepaneringsritualen explores themes of religion, magick and the hidden realms of consciousness, taking its musical cues from the old school of ritual ambient & death industrial. Rhythmic and seething at times, and oozing forward with a creeping sense of desolation at others, Trepaneringsritualen conjures forth bleak but mesmerizing visions of the end-times.“Perfection & Permanence”: a hymn to Isis; a further exploration of the duality of the holy harlot, the black skinned Magdalen, mother and concert of the Christ; Yeshua Ben Yosef, son of MAN; the shameful dead, those who sold their brothers, condemned to forever roam the earth; to transgress the abyss, to mortify flesh, towards cosmic renovation. It is lonely, it is awful; on the verge of physical death, but still unable to understand; absolute perfection may be attained through WILL. A conversation with angels, in archaic tongues; Eiríkr inn Sigrsæli sold his blood and kin to desert rats for corporeal power. Eirikr, we spit on you.; from across the abyss, it rises. Ceaseless, blood-churning, terrible; an incoherent accusation by the mirror image, he who’s blood was shed to atone another man’s sins. Without bloodshed there can be no salvation.. $12.77

Triarii - Ars Militaria ( Eternal Soul: ESCD02)
Re-stock of the re-issue! Here's my original review: My early favorite for record of the year. Too much new stuff for me to go into heavy details, so I’ll steal a review from Funprox (below) Suffice to say, this is a really really good record of Euro-centric militaristic, neo-classical sounds with a keen ear for composition…very recommended. From funprox: Triarii, named after an elite infantry division of the Roman Empire's army, may not make the most original music in the world, but I truly like what I hear. "Ars Militaria" is the debut album from this German act, after the single 'Triumph', also on the Berlin label Eternal Soul. Like the title promises, you can expect a clear martial atmosphere on pieces like 'Europe in flames' and 'Regicide II', complete with historical samples and noises. The album, housed in an elegant grey cover, contains various orchestral anthems in the vein of Sophia, Karjalan Sissit and Wappenbund, with snare drums and other marching percussion, as well as bombastic string layers, uplifting trumpets and choirs. Besides these powerful tracks there also more restrained ritual tunes, which strongly remind of Ordo Rosarius Equilibrio, especially through the vocals. Example are 'Mother of pain' and 'Serpent, sun & world ending'. Furthermore there are some tranquil atmospheric classical compositions, like 'Der verwundete', dedicated to the controversial sculptor Arno Breker, and musicwise reminding me of In the Nursery. The music and the subject matter on "Ars Militaria" may not be very innovative, this is a very solid album which will be quite often in my cd-player. If you like heroic martial music, then Triarii is an act to follow. $12.00

Triarii - Piece Heroique ( Eternal Soul: ESCD05)
Re-stock of the re-issue! Triarii’s debut CD ‘Ars Militaria’ ranked as one of my favorites of 2004 (?), and with Piece Heroique, we are again presented with another brilliant release. Forceful, monumental, and epic neo-classical compositions with a palpable sense of drama and exhiliration. These are wonderfully well written pieces, with Triarii creating the perfect blend of solemn, more introspective orchestrations with more stirring militaristic declarations. There’s no shortage of acts jumping on the neo-classical/military bandwagon, but very few, if any, do it as well as Triarii. Produced by Jouni Havoukainen (In Slaughter Natives) and featuring one track with Tomas Pettersson of Ordo Equilibrio. That enough should be enough to judge the quality of this release. Stunning.. $12.00

The material was thoroughly remastered by Łukasz Miernik (who is also responsible for the sound of the previous MAEROR TRI reissues on Zoharum.)"Dreaming Muzak" is composed of 2 drone ambient compositions so characteristic for the TROUM style. They were created as a muzak tuning our brainwaves into the proper dreaming stadium. The following prerequisites have been accompanying the duo for many years, hence they have become their credo executed on many excellent records and gigs. It is "Dreaming Muzak" that constitutes an excellent introduction to the adventures with TROUM and their music.

Troum - Grote Mandrenke ( Beta-Lactam Ring: MT238)
First edition of 1000 copies in a custom made book bound gatefold sleeve and full color insert. “Grote Mandrenke” is definitely a Troum with a view. The title refers to a massive Atlantic storm that killed upwards of 25,000 Europeans in the mid 14th century (about a decade after the plague showed up. HOORAY!). Troum, of course, bathe their devastating subject in swelling waves of melodic drone and sea-walls of sound. Appropriately, “Grote Mandrenke” is cinematic and melancholy; anthemic and brooding, and distinctly shoegaze, but in a way that you can look up, and you still see shoes. And bodies, floating in a foamy miasma of silted water and fish guts. In fact, this should be on a label called 5AD, because this is one awesomer. Buzzsaw ambience and measured percussive breaths comprise a perfect soundtrack for nature's dominion over man.
An aural hallucination on the events that occurred January 15-17, 1362 at the Friesian North Sea coast. This is the studio-version of a live event performed throughout 2008 & 2009.. $13.00

'Mare Morphosis' stands out in the history of Troum studio-albums as their most symphonic, refined and orchestral effort so far. Tundra - Tajnie i Głębie ( Zoharum: Zohar076-2)
Apart from countless reissues and new materials by renowned projects, Zoharum searches for new faces. This time it is a duo based in the same town as the label, namely Gdańsk, called Tundra - an electroacoustic project of Dawid Adrjanczyk and Krzysiek Joczyn, whose inspiration is, first and foremost, space, both in its physical manifestation and the spiritual meaning. Beside samples, field recordings and sound manipulation, they use acoustic instruments.
"Tajnie i Głębie" (Mysteries and Depths), their new recordings, is a temporary departure from the region of improvisation for the sake of studio work. The first full-length album of Tundra is a continuation of the previously chosen path; soundwise, it is based on the sonic contemplation of space. Here it is mostly of spiritual nature. The starting point situated in the subarctic region is left behind, and is replaced with wanderings among symbols scattered in the infinity. This path leads to a point which seems to be familiar to us, but it is not its beginning of the journey.
By using various means of expression, the duo reread the canon of experimental music and explore new sonic territories. Six compositions presented here serve the purpose of a soundtrack to imaginary journeys into places where peace and chill reign simultaneously. These are akin to more ethereal songs from the World Serpent realm, but also academic compositions or free improv. The sounds on "Tajnie i Głębie" lose tracks and inspirations luring the listeners with an ambiguous atmosphere at the same time. This 3-panel ecopak release is strictly limited to 350 copies.. $12.00

U-731 - By All Means... ( Black Plagve: Infect10)
Simultaneously the debut and swan song for this California based project of Gordon Lazarus, known previously for his work as Defiler and soon to be United Front. For "By All Means...", we find him continuing the path laid down by his previous project, only upping the paranoia and abject sense of hopelessness and negativity. Make no bones about it, this is a bleak release, and it’s no surprise he’s employed the services of like-minded roster mates John Stillings of Steel Hook Prostheses and Andy Grant of The Vomit Arsonist. The sound is not all that dissimilar to either act, only this seems to slow everything down to an even more morose level (if that’s possible), where distortion drenched waves of morbid frequencies waft underneath layers of gristle and murky atmospheres. Drowsy, lethargic voices and samples drift in and out of the mix, gaining momentum as it segues into more demented and antagonistic realms, the intensity ratcheted up as the tones become more sinister and agitated. Near the end, as Grant makes his appearance in both F.E.M.A. Care and By All Means, this reaches a near boiling point, before ending in the final moments of Suo Gan/Last Rights, where an angelic chorus is offset by the resonating sounds of explosives and deep reverberations. Various Artists - U.S. Bestial Forces 3xCD ( L-White: LW064)
Re-stock and nice price! Do you know 50 power electronic bands? If, so it would appear you are quite familiar with the PE scene. BUT, do you know 50 US power electronic bands? See, there is still much to learn, grasshopper, and U.S. Bestial Forces is certainly the most logical place to start. I know when the time comes for me to start looking for new acts to sign (and that time is NOT right now, so please stop sending me promos), I'm gonna look here. Anyone with a cursory knowledge of the Malignant catalog will probably recognize a decent amount of names on this comp, but that still leaves a lot of unheard of and undiscovered acts. So, without further ado, here's your line-up:
F/I/T/H, Richard Ramirez, Genocide Lolita, Violent Pink, Deeper Wells, Frailty of Angels, Gnawed, Magia Nuda, James Balster, Deterge, Blood Rhythms, NYARLATHOTEP, R.S.P., Churner, RU-486 feat. Bereft, Koufar, His Throne, The Vomit Arsonist, Constrictions, Miscreant, Murderous Vision, Nyodene D., Cunting Daughters, Josh Hydeman, Goatlab, The Thin White Puke, Bitchneck, Corpuscle, Bereft, Klit, Hierchiss, Sharpwaist, False Flag, Xiphoid Dementia, Streetmeat, Corephallism, Pharmakon, Slogun, Rape-X features Missy Moist, Zulanwar, Custodian, Grammal Seizure, Striations, Steel Hook Prostheses, Mania, Blessed Sacrifist, Wolverine Carcass, Heavy Breathing, Secret Guilt, Machismo. How Sewer Goddess didn't make it on here is beyond me, but forgivable considering the sheer amount of other acts. Lmtd 500, in digifile.. $13.66

Vasilisk - Whirling Dervishes ( Steinklang: SK77)
In 1985, after the split up of the political unit 'White Hospital', Tomo Kuwabara started up the unit Vasilisk with Yukio Nagoshi (percussions/guitars) and Chiaki (percussions). 'Whirling Dervishes' was their first record originally released in 1987 through Eskimo Records, which was the label established by Yun 'Grim' Konagaya. On this album they played several unusual instruments: African skin-drums, African flute, Tibetan percussion, ancestral voices. Long one of the standard bearers for dark ritual/tribal music. Originally recorded and mixed in Tokyo from December '86 to March '87 now remastered with additional bonus track. Comes as 6-side digipack, lmtd 350.. $11.66

Velemara - Abysmia ( Autarkeia: ACD090)
New Lithuanian project that made quite an impression here at headquarters. 7 tracks of mildly abrasive sonic desolation, falling somewhere between the blackened atmospheric stylings of Navicon and the cold grip of something Scandinavian - perhaps the more minimal side of Nordvargr or the darker side of Moljebka Pvlse; A sooted, rusting spiritual landscape where hopelessness is immense and despair is imminent. Industrial churn, machine hum and factory din, building and peaking at the right spots.. $13.33

Vinterriket - Entlegen ( Heimatfolk: HF14)
Similar to the last full-length album “Horizontmelancholie” (Steinklang Industries/Heimatfolk, 2008), the new VINTERRIKET album "entlegen" (meaning “remote”, ”far-flung”, “outlying”) features songs full of coldness, melancholy, desolation, emptiness and chilling atmospheres which do perfectly capture the dark side of nature. "entlegen" is again a Neofolk/Dark Ambient masterpiece and an outstanding tribute to the darkest side of nature. Haunting and cold electronic soundscapes are mixed with atmospheric acoustic guitars and clean vocals. "entlegen" is an album of haunting and evocative aural tapestries, an emotive display of tension and calm - a darkened imagery of shadowed forests and vast, endless landscapes - a journey into deep woods, misty snow-covered hills, majestic sceneries, into the dark side of the soul. "Entlegen" was mastered at Luftschutzkerker / Switzerland and features 8 tracks with a playing time of 62 minutes. Comes in 6 panel digipak.. $6.00

Vomit Arsonist, The - An Occasion for Death ( Malignant: TumorCD67)
When one looks at the hierarchy of US power electronics and death industrial, few names belong at the top like Rhode Island’s The Vomit Arsonist. The project of Andrew Grant since 2004, time has seen The Vomit Arsonist evolve into a major force, channeling aggression, negativity, and spite, and molding it into a focused, pinpoint display of barely restrained power and purely dark emotion. The 7 tracks found An Occasion for Death encapsulate this to near perfection, blending bleak, atmospheric drones and ominous synth layers with distorted frequency grind, mechanized rhythms, looping pulsations, and vocals that cut through the mix with unbridled animosity and ferocity. A welcome, and perhaps overdue addition to the Malignant roster. In 6 panel digipak, mastered by Steel Hook Audio.. $11.00

Vomit Arsonist, The - Wretch ( Cipher Productions: Sic57)
Re-stock! "Wretch" is brought to you in partnership with Cipher Productions and represents a journey through the mind of Andrew Grant, aka The Vomit Arsonist. A decidedly personal and unnerving recording, "Wretch" was written during a period of mental instability that lasted nearly two years. The result is a release that bleeds raw emotion: loss, hatred, self-loathing, and reflection; starting at rock bottom with waves of dark ambience, grim death industrial, and quietly spoken words, moving further into the depths of a tortured mind. The result is a gradual advance into forceful, vengeful power electronics.. $9.66

Vultures Quartet with Schuyler Tsuda - Sui Generis ( Zoharum: Zohar045-2)
This recording is the result of a collaboration between Vultures Quartet and Schuyler Tsuda as requested by the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis following the Vultures Quartet performance at the 2010 Spark Festival of new music. The recording was funded by the university and provided the performers with some unique on-site instrumentation, including access to a collection of vintage analogue synthesizers, various orchestral instruments, and a bursary to purchase scrap metal to make new instruments. The group recorded over four hours of material in the University of Minnesota's Music Department studios. This release is taken from those recordings, as selected and mixed by band member Anthony Donovan. . Limited edition, packaged in 3panel digipack. "The album’s calliper fairies and metallic dissidences plumb a whole netherworld of unnatural chemistries, finger paint your head in plenty of amputated industry. There’s a small concession to melodic ease, brief La Monte Young slivers of fret, a few gluey fingered drones and certain blurring to the ambiance, but the focus is primary that of the scrap yard. As if Stockhausen or Berio were prowling the landfills in search of new vocabularies, their tape machines in a knot with cross-pollinating enquiries and writhing gulls. Without doubt Sui Generis is superbly well observed, gleaming with fresh contours that continuously juggle contrast and pace, messing with the ever un-tangling space to great effect." Fre.Org.UK. $12.66

Welter in Thy Blood - Todestrieb ( Greytone: Dusk013)
While DEATHSTENCH is certainly most known around these parts, it's John and Darea's other project, Welter In Thy Blood, that is perhaps more well known worldwide. Todestrieb is their 4th release, and their 3rd full length overall, and like previous output, this is one oppressive slab of blackened funeral doom - I'm talking end it all right now, slit your wrists bleak, where torturously slow and droney, elongated riffs meld into reverbed vocalizations and deadening percussion. The whole thing is soaked in complete darkness and utter hopelessness, and so horrifically atmospheric, that all dark ambient and death industrial freaks would be foolish not to pick this up.. $11.00

Wertham - Tell Me the Truth ( Old Captain: OCCD04)
Old Captain is glad to celebrate WERTHAM’s 20th anniversary by releasing “TELL ME THE TRUTH”, a collection of old releases and difficult-to-find tracks from the Italian Power Electronics project that made quite a name for itself thanks to a full-frontal approach that mixes multiple-layered sound structures with aggressive vocals, intense use of samples and uniquely-structured concepts. “Tell me the truth” focuses mostly on the first decade of WERTHAM’s recordings, including sold-out tapes, 7”s, contribution to splits, rare tracks from compilations, excerpt from early works and one unreleased song, for approximately one hour of sheer violence, rough sounds and uncompromising attitude, remastered by Monsieur Yvan Battaglia (LCHM). Gender wars, leatherboys, STDs, general socio-biology, frustrations of the modern 9-5 man, Insubria white trash mentality, stereotypes, nutritional disorders, self deprecation, glorification of decaying icons of a withering world are the main themes expressed mostly with minimal slogans. CD comes in an illustrated black and white 6-tray digipack featuring extensive text and detailed information.Limited to 250 copies.. $13.88

White Hospital - Holocaust ( Steinklang: SK81)
Lmtd edition CD re-issue of this seminal and groundbreaking record. White Hospital was founded in 1984 by Tomosada Kuwahara, who later established his own music under Vasilisk, and Jun Konagaya, founder of Grim, another unique pearl of 80's noise music. Fabulously lo-fo rhythmic pulsations, sheet metal, maniacal and disembodied vocals, tape noise, eerie atmospheres, and a vibe that just reeks of putrefaction, this is one of the "holy grails" of early industrial music.. $11.66
