Abjection Ritual - Psychiatric Failures CDr ( Self-released: AR02)
The follow-up to the well received self titled Abjection Ritual debut was inspired by mental illness, past and present abuses within institutions, the letters of Antonin Artaud, and the early anti-psychiatry movement. As I alluded to in my review of the first CD, Abjection Ritual is perhaps the definitive new force in American death industrial/power electronics, and the 7 tracks here only solidify that; grim constructions that alternate between being hyper violent and explosive to more bleak arrangements of nauseating electronics and radioactive waste, with a vocal delivery that just ramps things up to impossible levels of intensity. Tightly focused, perfectly executed, and about as good as anything you're bound to hear all year.. $6.66

Aegri Somnia - Monde Obscure CD ( Cryo Chamber: Cryo47)
Field recording heavy dark ambient from Croatia. This album is an unsettling tale taking us from the abandon dilapidated high rises where the portals from another world cracks open to leak its black ink into our world. Great attention to detail and layers means this album will be replayed many times before it can all be taken in. Not for the faint of heart.. $12.50

Aeoga - Triangle of Nebula-Devourers & Palace for Vultunales CD ( Aural Hypnox: AHSM08)
After a decade of unavailability we are proud to release ‘Triangle of Nebula-Devourers’ and ‘Palace for Vultunales’ by Aeoga on a CD through our Stellar Mansion series. Both of these were previously released in 2005 simultaneously with the ‘Zenith Beyond the Helix-Locus’ album; ‘ToND’ was limited to 100 CD-r copies and ‘PfV’ came exclusively as a part of ‘ZBtH-L’ deluxe box set that was limited to only 40 copies.'Triangle of Nebula-Devourers' presents three electro-acoustic pieces that will take you through the hazy desert toward the non-spatial zero time. Tempesting, obscure and flowing archaic ambience where meditative rhythms, transcendental resonances and abstract passages blend together – sonic alchemy that will permute the sub-/ non-conscious patterns of the Self. This album is an incomparable outcome in the field of experimental and abstract ambience.
'Palace for Vultunales’ presents two dronumental tracks varying from backwards flowing acoustical drones, eerie sample textures and harmonic sound clouds to archaic rhythm patterns. A voyage through the Coprophagik Cycle into the heart of absolute being - an opus between old school drone ambience and experimental ritual music.
The album is enclosed inside a silk-screen printed Stellar Mansion cardboard covers including four, two-sided insert cards. Limited to 500 copies.. $13.50

Allerseelen - Terra Incognita CD ( Ahnstern: Ahnstern53)
Allerseelen are back with a new CD, Terra Incognita.
"All art is at one surface and symbol. Those who go beneath the surface do so at their peril." (Oscar Wilde: Dorian Grey) is the quotation that Allerseelen use for this release. So be adventurous enough to go beneath the surface of the music of Allerseelen! While their highly acclaimed last CD Rauhe Schale featured electric guitars by Dimo Dimov of Svarrogh and violins by the guest musicians Meri Tacid from Eluveitie and Annabel Lee from Blood Axis, this time they worked on the new release with a couple of high quality guest contributions by guitarrists like John Haughm (Agalloch) and Jörg B (Der Blutharsch, Amestigon, Graumahd), Daniel P. Arnica (Arnica) and Alexander Wieser (Hrefnesholt) who add their very special musical charisma to several songs. The vocals for the songs are not only those by the frontman Gerhard Hallstatt but also by Robert Taylor (Changes). This release again is a manifest for the musical expression of Allerseelen that is difficult to be labelled as it is a unique combination of seemingly contradictory elements from industrial, metal and folklore.
As usual for Allerseelen, their CD comes as digipak with a 16page booklet full of photographs and all the texts in English and Germa. $13.66

Antlers Mulm - Silbergrauer Staub CD ( Wrotycz: WRT021)
The first album ins special art paper package! From FUNPROX: "Not a recent release (October 2003), but one which I listened to quite often recently. The productions of Antlers Mulm and its label Sonderübertragung, both run by Hans Johm, sound and look just a little different. The limited releases, both on vinyl and cd, are always packaged in cardboard boxes, which are functional, yet stylish. The music of Antlers Mulm contains many nostalgic references to older electronic music, without becoming a pure retro act. The music on “Silbergrauer Staub” does not sound very complicated at first. Nevertheless there is a lot of tension in the music and often an otherworldly and melancholic feeling. Pioneers like Kraftwerk come to mind, as well as underground minimal electro from the early 80’s, but there are also clear connections to dark ambient / industrial circles. I have to think of Coil, Column One or Predominance. Despite experimentation, the melodic soundscapes are quite accessible, even meditative at times. Most tracks have an atmospheric electronic sound with clear keyboard melodies, subtle samples and sparse speech vocals, often slightly distorted. Percussion does not play a dominant factor, though there is some ritual, almost martial percussion here and there, like on ‘Gipfelsturm’. In general the music is not particularly dark, there are no deep basses or cliche rumbling machineries. Some tracks sound a bit more threatening though, like ‘c3′. Most of the 15 tracks move forward rather slowly, though a track like ‘Out of line’ has a pumping electronic beat." SONDERÜBERTRAGUNG. $9.00

Argentum - Ditirambos al dios de la Guerra CD ( UFA Muzak: UFA65)
The album full of colossal admiration for the Greek pantheon presented by the cult band Argentum. Overwhelming hymns with lyrics in Greek language, infused as components in an alchemic retort, only to make an unforgettable impression. Music is a secret way to Homer's "Iliad", Ovid's "Metamorphoses", to Aeschylus and Hesiod, to the mythological Olympus, the sacred mountain, the place of residence of the gods headed by Zeus. During the Great Dionysias in Athens choirs if singers dressed in goat skins were singing hymns - dithyrambs accompanying dances, and so the album if full of wine and hop spirit. Drunken satyrs with tails and goat legs carry old Silenus on a donkey, a wise teacher, to the sounds of flutes, pan-pipes and timpanis. The Agrentinian project's music opens slowly, moving from majestic hymns to resilient electronic rhythm, from conspiracy to Hercules, to the Orphic spells, to Zeus, from life to death, from pain to ecstasy. The Olympians pass in front of us and glorify their power, interwining Futhark and Ancient Greek, symbols of war and improving the magical experience, animal and divine nature.. $11.00

Atomine Elektrine - Elemental Severance (Redux Version) 2CD ( Old Europa Café: OECD213)
The series of OEC re-releases by Peter Andersson's (Raison D'Etre) projects continues.
And here we go with the re-release of Atomine Elektrines' much acclaimed debut album first out in 1995.Labelled as 'new-age-sacro-trance' at the time, 'Elemental Severance' actually shows a wide spectrum of electronic styles resulting in a hybrid, yet cohesive masterwork.
From trancey rhythms and dreamy, sacral ambiences to occasional male/female choirs, melancholic melodies and well inserted samples. As if the imaginary past and present could touch each other, everything is involved by a majestic, unique surreal atmosphere, producing gorgeous sounds that leaves you truly mesmerized.
This expanded double disc redux version of 'Elemental Severance' original album, first released on Cold Meat Industry in 1995, has been carefully re-recorded and mixed in 2015 for a more enhanced and contemporary experience. The extensive extra material, taken from the same recording sessions as 'Elemental Severance', has in part been reduxed else transfered from original master recordings.Atomine Elektrine is a side project of Peter Andersson, the mastermind behind the dark ambient industrial project raison d'être. Atomine Elektrine, with thematical interest in the vast space and small atoms, is named after a nuclear power plant and is partly inspired by the electronic space music of the 70's.Composed by Peter Andersson 1992-1994. Atrium Carceri - Metropolis CD ( Cryo Chamber: Cry048)
Locked out from the Illusion, this album takes place entirely in our former home. The darkened sky and gargantuan citadels line the horizon as the endless city, we once ruled as gods, stretches as far as the eye can see. Crossing the sea of the dead in search for a Beacon of Light that can lead the expedition to uncover the truth about the factions in control, what happened to the long lost architect and how to open a portal back into the colorful illusion the ignorant call home.
This 11 track Atrium Carceri album is closely connected to The Untold and sheds more light unto what goes on in the Atrium Carceri universe and the Metropois in particular. An industrial, dark, distorted and cinematic experience unlike any other with amazing attention to detail and subtle layering, this album begs for repeated listening to take it all in.. $12.50

Aun - Fiat Lux CD ( Cyclic Law: 76th Cycle)
AUN’s music as always suggested forays into other dimensions, be it to imaginary worlds, industrial wastelands, through space and time, or via mind altered states. From the ominous dystopian artwork, of a city being drained of its energy by some mysterious black hole, to the first notes of the title track “Fiat Lux” we are once again transported on AUN’s otherworldly travelling path. Ever since the space industrial and power electronics of AUN’s previous Cyclic Law cult release “Black Pyramid”, the world has become even more sinister, but in contrast, “Fiat Lux” exudes even more of AUN’s melancholic hopefulness. The disintegrating chords and densely textured waves, anchored by a left field industrial pulse, invoke occult drug enhanced, future psychedelia. Created in part in their Montreal studio, these tracks were extensively performed live, prior to recording, and refined while on tour breaks in Montpellier, Barcelona and Tokyo. The energy of these cities is definitely at work in these recordings, which also features a French connection of experimental heavy hitters: Witxes, Frédéric D. Oberland and Philippe Petit have helped round out Dumais and Leblanc’ arsenal. FIAT LUX: Let there be light, from light will come darkness.. $11.67

Bizarre Uproar - Amputaatio LP ( Urashima: UMA096)
Urashima is proud to present Bizarre Uproar's 2015 hate opus "Amputaatio": A monumental suffocating grind that tremor with the physical density and ritual ambience of late BU saga live-performances. The material on the LP bridge eras "Vihameditaatio" (2014) to "Rape Africa" (2012); and consists of two structured compositions of lengthy, slow-crawling, torturous nature. The instrumentation and compositional strategies extend the groundwork defined on "Vihameditaatio", and is subtly balanced with "Rape Africa's" static rawness and brutally imploding gutter-vacuum. The metamorphosis of the two otic stances plus live-sound fervor, cement "Amputaatio" as a meditative and destructive volcanic mass that froth with malignant intent. All out rotten. Sheer bestiality. Total alienating filth. Recorded in the BU bunker Autumn 2014. Mastered by SS-Pekka.
Lp has been pressed on 140 gr black vinyl with black label and black inner sleeve and comes in a deluxe silver silkscreen on black cardboard sleeve, limited to 199 copies w/insert in luxury 160 gr ivory paper. All package in a clear plastic sleeve to protect record Lp, cover and inserts from dirt, shelf wear and damage.. $19.00

Bizarre Uproar/Gelsomina - Älä Tee Huorin LP ( Urashima: UMA097)
These two purveyors of fine Finnish filth have collaborated many times in the past (recommended “Assisted Self-Sterilization” on Freak Animal) and this unholy partnership continue to flourish today . Älä Tee Huorin is the final documentation as separate entities and it was released like double tape in a white double poly box on Filth & Violence and Untergeschoss in only 54 copies and now available for the first time in vinyl edition.
Side A include the two tracks on original tape one. It begins with a live collaboration of the two projects did in Birmingham UK on August 2, 2008. This one starts off with a substance of bottom dense mechanical roar scattered by contrived vocal screams. Then a shift towards doom-tronics, solid and asphyxiating. Second track was a mail collaboration and more affiliated to the noisiness you've come to expect from these two, feedback, screams and pedal insanity. The whole thing liquefies into total lo-fi pandemonium.
The two tracks on second tape are on side B and gives each artist a track of their own. First is Bizarre Uproar with an untitled track. This is just what you'd expect from Pasi, feedback and vocal abuse. BU track have a way of surpassing “just noise” and take on freakish rhythm all their own. Gelsomina owns the second and final track. “Scenes From Ballard” begins like some madness noise orchestra warming up. About the 5 minute mark the track kicks into overdrive with slow, pounding junk noise, pulses of feedback and what sounds like a contact mic straight to the throat and filtered vocals. The whole track is plodding, demonic and cold.
LP has been pressed on 140 gr black vinyl with black label and black inner sleeve and comes in a deluxe silver silkscreen on black cardboard sleeve, limited to 99 copies w/insert in color hard paper (replica of original insert). All package in a clear plastic sleeve to protect double Lp, cover and inserts from dirt, shelf wear and damage.. $19.00

Breaking the Will - Choosing Death CD ( Terror: Terror12)
First full length album in discography of this harsh noise artist from USA. The sounds that were recorded to tapes, released during 5 years of activity, were not only visible and audible in excessive sea of information and sounds, but always attracted attention with truly high quality and well done cut-up harsh noise. This conceptual release was in plans for several years already and is finally out. Almost 40 minutes of preparation, execution, playing, destroying and annihilation is documented in this digipak CD, released in 300 copies. Choosing Death mood varies from darker droney parts and field recordings to openly aggressive and fast cut-up harsh noise. Without a doubt the strongest work of Breaking the Will to date. 13e. $10.66

Climax Denial - In the Absence of Self Control LP ( Urashima: UMA93)
For over a decade, Climax Denial has been exploring a unique and evolving approach to the power-electronics genre. Beginning with his debut tape on Hospital Productions, and following with dozens of other sought-after releases: peerless in their stalker/submissive debauchery. Alex Kmet with his Climax Denial project practically bathes in its own urgent sexuality, stalking through each album with glassy eyes and a raging boner, just like the protagonists of all of those classics you are tempted to put away when mom/girlfriend/straight-job friends come over. In an age where many of his peers are doing their part to look beyond perverse sexuality, or perhaps expressing it in more poetic terms, Climax Denial rings true like the last of the old-school perverts, a man as terrifying as he is abject. In The Absence Of Self-Control is Climax Denial's first full-length LP and features all new material. Teasing with elements of dark ambient restraint, coyly manic vocals, and anxious industrial texture; we are presented with an unnerving composition of lovingly lecherous soundscapes.
‘'I've never consciously set out to become a ‘Power Electronics Musician' or whatever, it's just like I was saying before, I always want there to be some kind of context behind the noise. Most power electronics deals with exploring the dark side of human nature objectively, or confessing your own darknesses. I write about what I know. I just have to be honest. These things are what I'm into doing and this is what keeps me up at night and this is what turns me on. Mostly what turns me on! It was never a conscious attempt to change the genre. I've just done whatever I wanted to from the beginning, trying to avoid falling completely into any one category. It's sexual and emotional submission with fits of violence. It's the declaration of my self to fully experience the essence of the female sex. It's the severe depression and it's knowing I'm better and stronger than most other people for being able to see things the way I see them.'' Alex Kmet interviewed by Chis Sienko on As Loud As Possible magazine.

Here's the original review I wrote for Neuroscan Organization: " By far the best work I’'ve heard from this Strom.ec side project and easily the best produced. First side is studio recordings featuring cold Northern atmospheres, yet wielding a cosmic, awe inspiring power as it comes sweeping down in en masse, building to a steady climax by the sides end. The flip side is live recordings, more dynamic in nature..spiraling, antagonistic waves of heavy electronics, resonant tones, and pulsating death industrial noise.. $12.50

Concrete Mascara is back on Corrosive Art Records with their first full-length CD. 9 tracks of intensive harsh electronics, unsettling vocals, scrap metal and some calm periods for one of the most accomplished releases of this US Power Electronics artist. Concrete Mascara is known within certain circles, but Blossoms of Shame deserves some broader recognition - this is very well composed and thought out, mixing restraint and structured elements that build and segue into heavier realms of corrosive death industrial and utterly deranged filth. The first album "Abnormal Love" has been released on Cold Meat Industry back in 2012. The follow-up "Little Black World" has been released in 2014 in a very limited tape edition on Jana Komaritsas own Label Mrakmur. Emit - Spectre Music of an Antiquary CD ( Crucial Blast: CBR109)
The latest album of murky graveyard ambience, deranged synth, phantasmic dread and ritualistic black drift from this cult UK outfit, their first in nearly ten years. Surrealistic, spectral music and nocturnal delirium transmitted from beyond the veil and steeped in the mysteries of old Britain, like some twisted, eldritch fusion of Fabio Frizzi, In Umbra Malitiae Ambulabo-era Abruptum, and 80’s darkwave.
First released as an extremely limited cassette on Glorious North, Spectre Music Of An Antiquary is the first new material from Emit in over five years, a full length collection of murky ambience, deranged 80's style synth, ritualistic black drift, and stranger sounds forays into black noise. This British outfit has been creating their unique brand of experimental blackened delirium since the late 90s, branching out of a low-fi UK black metal band called Ante Cryst. With Emit, the members began to explore a creepy, synth-heavy sound that was unmistakably descended from black metal but supremely more deformed, combining harsh electronic noise, horror-movie soundtrack atmospherics, droning keyboards, wrecked and fractured black metal guitars, and bizarre vocals that would often push Emit's music into a strange realm of hallucinatory, ghastly psychedelia. On their latest tape Spectre, though, Emit's sound has morphed into something that more resembles some mutated, primitive 80's darkwave being completely taken over by malevolent spirits, with eerie electronic drones and distant moaning vocals often taking over; very different from what I've heard from Emit in the past, though no less weird or phantasmagoric. And as with other Emit offerings, this is concerned more with the occult lore and hidden history of the British isles than Satanism or goat worship or any of the other over-used black metal tropes, which all serves to enhance the wraithlike vibe of these songs.. $10.00

Empusae & Marc T. - Deugden Van Angst en Het Kwaad CD ( Ant-Zen: Act332)
This album is the brainchild of a liaison between two exceptional artists: Sal-ocin who made a name for himself as a collaborator and band member as well as with his solo project Empusae, and Marc Titolo aka Marc T. who is partially known for his earlier breakbeat / electronica / idm project Dither, but mostly as a composer, guitarist and vocalist of the sludge post-rock band Dirge.
After their first collaboration on Empusae's 'Sphere From the Woods' release in 2013, Marc and Sal-ocin decided to work on a whole album based on Marc's guitar compositions and completed with Sal-ocin's electronic and electro-acoustic rhythms, melodies and soundscapes. The result of this decision is 'Deugden Van Angst en Het Kwaad', a perfect balance between two different musical viewpoints fusing into one. Slow repetitive beats and atmospheric electronics build a solid foundation for massive guitar soundwalls passing the edge of hypnotic post-psychedelia and grieving doom metal. A deep and dark and dangerous maelstrom for the listener get roped into without resistance - be invited, you won't regret taking this auditory journey!. $12.99

Encephalophonic - X CD ( Freak Animal: FAENC01)
Manages to escape most of the traps of contemporary noise and doesn't fall into any micro-sub-genre, but takes more like a "90s noise" approach. Just doing good loud noise, that can vary from cut up to sheer ongoing force. Epic harmonic loops and utter violent junk abuses. Not album of one idea and one theory, but pulsations of blood and energy from many angles.. $12.77

Envenomist - Chariots LP ( Segerhuva: Seger20)
Re-stock! These strangely cinematic and abrasive droning landscapes of impending doom made up from analog synths are the work of David Reed, for some perhaps known from the plausible Luasa Raelon project. The sparse, cold, minimal pieces reminds us of early industrial-era electronic artists such as Maurizio Bianchi and Lustmord, but also gives hints to the works of Klaus Schulze and early Tangerine Dream. Without doubt presenting a vile and nightmarish vision of a territory where noone can be trusted and there's nowhere to hide – this certainly is bleak post-apocalyptic music. Limited to 300 copies in pro-printed black/white matte covers. -. $18.66

Flint Glass & Collapsar - Deus Irae CD ( Ant-Zen: Act320)
'In the years following world war III, a new and powerful faith has arisen from a scorched and poisoned earth, a faith that embraces the architect of world wide devastation....'
Flint Glass is the Paris-based one man project of Gwenn Trémorin, formed in 1999, which has been described by critics as one of the most innovative artists within electronica, industrial and dark ambient. Inspired by fantastic and dystopian literature and influenced by 90's ambient as well as various forms of idm, tribal, industrial rhythmic noise and experimental, his music tends to crawl under your skin, shapes the most fantastic images, and keeps challenging you by means of an intelligent use of samples, rhythms and beats. All through his artistic history Gwenn set a high value on collaborations with befriended artists, including this album which was conjointly developed together with Collapsar, a dark space ambient solo project from Strasbourg, formed by Thibaud Thaunay who gained great attention with his debut release on Malignant Records.
'Deus Irae' ('God of wrath') characterizes a mystical sensory journey into the depths of a post apocalyptic world, inspired by Philip K. Dick & Roger Zelazny's science fiction novel of the same title. Across an imaginary nightmarish landscape as described in this novel, Flint Glass and Collapsar join their force to create evocative, cinematic music which is suitable for discrete listening at home, and which might be also perfectly fit as a score to a yet unwritten video game. Dark synth tones are deployed with an innate sense of dramatic, leading the listener through widescreen narratives of terrifying scope. Dystopian futuristic soundscapes and elaborated rhythmic textures meet cataclysmic drones, epic melodic themes and arcane voice samples.
This ficticious journey, separated in two parts, lasts for more than forty minutes and is perfected by alternative aural 'script variations' by Spherical Disrupted, Hologram_, Sylvgheist Maëlström, Ah Cama-Sotz and Iszoloscope. be invited to join a parallel world of suspense, mystery, and faith.. $13.33

Foetus Dreams - Brouillard ( Winter-Light: Win001)
From start to finish "Brouillard" is a real ambient journey; sometimes an introspective one, sometimes a glance from the inside looking out and far beyond the reach of the human eye. The tracks are beautifully sculpted pieces of ambient excellence and from the opening moments of the first you are transported into the world of"FoetusDreams". Rich drones resonate across starkly crafted, ice-cold landscapes where your only companions are the sounds that flow around you. Vibrant musical layers, occasionally punctuated with a clever use of samples, draw the listener ever further away from reality towards a deeper, more meaningful sense of self. You could easily be standing on the edge of the universe looking out, or traversing the caverns of your own mind in a search for that place of inner peace. The title track"Brouillard" is a master class in drone ambient with its ever present trance inducing hum that lowers a mist over the eyes and takes you to a very dark place indeed.. $11.66

Halo Manash - Haudattujen Valvoja CD ( Aural Hypnox: AH15)
The material on the Halo Manash album weaves together the encounters and sacred meetings of the group from the past four years.
The sonic-portals or liquid-entrances in ‘Haudattujen Valvoja’ are all authentic live recordings captured on tape with only two microphones in the group’s private Temple Hwaar. These slowly submerging, distant hymns were performed mostly through self-made instrumentation and found Otherworldly Roots and unlike before, all instruments were manipulated live through amps, cabinets and amplified speakers. Compared to the earlier Halo Manash albums, the resurrected resonances in ’Haudattujen Valvoja’ lean to a more unpolished yet flowing elemental sound. The release of the album closes a greater inner cycle of the group that was initiated over a decade ago; Par-Antra I: VIR.
The album consists of seven, otherworldly movements; first three were presented live in Finland, Germany and Russia during 2013 and the remaining four in Austria, Finland, Sweden and USA during 2013 – 2014. The elemental, rhythmical language of ‘Haudattujen Valvoja’ fosters a shimmering yet haunting haze, that guides the perceptive listener far from the domain of conscious and logical mind towards the subliminal realms where the posture of Aqua-Aurorae awaits. Rough and mesmerizing – Noisy + Harmonious + Drone
The album is enclosed in a customized and silk-screen printed Sublunar series cardboard covers, including an 8-panel booklet and four, two-sided insert cards, limited to 400 copies.. $13.33

Hybryds - Ritual Should Be Kept Alive CD ( Zoharum: Zohar089-2)
Zoharum continues reissuing past works of one of the most interesting projects coming from the 1980s underground - Hybryds. This album is the fourth instalment in the reissue series of Hybryds classic releases. It is an expanded reissue of ”The Ritual Should Be Kept Alive (1)” EP released back in 1991. That release featured only the first part of the title composition. The Zoharum edition was extended to a 70-minute full album with the other two parts of ”The Ritual Should Be Kept Alive” included plus one more bonus song.
Contrary to the previous releases (”Mythical Music from the 21st Century” and ”Music for Rituals” - both reissued on Zoharum – with lots of short pieces), ”The Ritual Should Be Kept Alive” contains slowly-evolving, long pieces which will hypnotise the listener with their sonic magic. Four songs on this album come from the same period, so it sounds very cohesive. And because three of them were not published before, ”The Ritual Should Be Kept Alive” v.2014 might be treated as a new album.
The album has been digitally remastered from the original stereo cassette master by none else but Sandy Nys, who also provided the cover based on the previous editions. This is the ritual music at its best. Now you can enjoy it in the best digital quality. The CD is housed in a digipak sleeve and the album is strictly limited to 500 copies.. $12.00

Old Europa Cafe, Elettronica Radicale Edizioni and Lake Shark Harsh Noise are glad to announce the 2015 reiussue of Iugula-Thor’s classic “Opera”.Originally published on tape in 1996 by Old Europa Cafe, “Opera” was a notable personal piece that blended noise and power electronics by mixing piercing high frequencies, a subtle and threatening vocal presence and classical music, buried under layers of violent harsh noise. Alongside Dead Body Love's classic "Low-Fi Power Carnage", Iugula Thor's "Opera" is also a massive documentation ofdistortion concentration and a prime example of Italy's 90s penchant for samples and sources drenched in overdriven texture. This new edition is mastered by P.NG5361.BANDERA (Sshe Retina Stimulants / Sigillum S) and includes as a bonus “Cuts series”, over 20 minutes of previously unreleased material, recorded in 2007/2008 for the “Sex Cuts” sessions. The CD comes in brown digipack, featuring and extensive essay by Sam McKinlay (The Rita) and alchemical artwork by Marco Wertham.. $13.77

Kammarheit - Unearthed 2000-2002 6CD/Book ( Cyclic Law: 75th Cycle)
Finally, 15 years after it’s first inception, we’ve painstakingly gathered the very first self released recordings of Sweden’s Pär Boström amazing project. Kammarheit started in early 2000 after a field recording session in an abandoned factory. Inspired by the atmosphere of that special place the first album “Shockwork” was recorded that very same night and this marked the beginning of one of Dark Ambient’s most respected act. The awe felt from these first field recording ventures translated into a concise sonic vision. Over the course of the next 2 years, five more albums were to be recorded; “At The Heart Of Destruction”, “Among The Ruins”, “Somewhere Concealed”, “The Downfall And The Arising” and “The Northern Hymn”. These were not initially intended for official release, but created as a sleeping aid for Pär’s then incessant insomnia. With time these works were spread to close friends and contacts as very limited CD-R editions and have since been long sought after items. We’re proud to again present these historical works in a proper, deluxe format. All 6 albums were carefully remastered while keeping the original imperfections of some of the releases, keeping true to the original work.

Kristoffer Oustad - Filth Haven CD ( Malignant: TumorCD84)
As one half of Swedish/Norwegian industrial duo K.N.O., Kristoffer Oustad is no stranger to the Malignant roster, and yet within the broader context of the K.N.O. sound, his exact contributions were never fully known, or at least immediately recognizable. Listening to his debut solo recording, it becomes evident that the more emotive and moody qualities within those recordings seemed to be his primary responsibility. The 7 tracks that comprise Filth Haven operate on a palpable psychological level and are perhaps some of the most personal and deeply emotional recordings Malignant has released. Oustad shows an innate ability to craft intricate and detailed pieces of grey hued, analog darkness that feel suspended in time… dreamlike and meditative, yet always hinting at something ominous on the horizon, as gradually shifting textures, drifting tones and haunting melodies intersect in a hazy, somnambulant procession. While the method for composition (analog synths, guitar, and field recordings) may have been the same, each track is uniquely different than the next, but in the end, feels tightly bound together by a cinematic framework that sinks deep into your consciousness. An absolutely astounding and rewarding work for those that appreciate all manner of dark music.

La Pietra - Lunare CD ( Lichterklang: LK027)
La Pietra Lunare's debut album is a concept album dedicated to the mysteries of Italy. It tells how, in the years between the two wars, in some small villages of the south it was believed that magic rites and amulets could have some form of will on daily life. Taking inspiration from some cult Italian books, such as Tommaso Landolfi's homonymous novel, these song show how neofolk music has an esoteric origin through their real popular beliefs. Recorded over five years, the album includes guests from the Italian neofolk scene, such as Egida Aurea, ZSP, Lupi Gladius and Antiqua Lunae. Their genre could be a strange kind of neofolk called "verist post-folk". Ltd x 260 copies in a digipak.. $11.33

Le Cose Bianche - Born CD ( Old Europa Café: OECD209)
BORN closes a hypothetical trilogy opened with "Aesthetics Of A Good Pornographer" (where the main theme was the prostitution industry) which was followed by "Pornography Should not be an illusion" (where the attention was focused on the mortification of pornography whenever it rises to art and its consumers) and now this, where the main theme revolves around the pornographic media, the use made of it, but it would be more correct to say: the use they make of us and around the private and intimate relationship that each has with that category. Is the mind that controls the body? Or is the body that controls the mind? Nobody knows.
Recorded with the collaboration of teachers, first, and friends, now, including:Maurizio Bianchi (MB) / Andrea Chiaravalli (Iugula-Thor) / Richard Ramirez (Black Leather Jesus) / Eraldo Bernocchi (Sigillum S) / Paolo Bandera (Sigillum S / Sshe Retina Stimulants) / Marco Deplano (Wertham / Caligula031) / Emidio Clementi (Massimo Volume)...

L'Effet C'est Moi - En Guerre avec Amour CD ( Old Europa Café: OECD212)
The 5th L'Effet C'est Moi album, "En Guerre avec Amour" composed by Emanuele Buresta is characterized by a different sound from all previous ones.
The bombastic martial tunes and modern classical compositions are mixed here with elegant and symphonic elements, dark ambient sounds, darkwave reminiscences and synth-pop music. The concept inspired by the epic theme of Love and War is revisited in a personal and spiritual approach in which spirits of romance and militarism that share the same space are combined in different ways: romance through militarism, romance opposed to the background of militarism. There's no love without war, there's no war without love!
The poetical lyrics are sung by Valentina Castellani, evocative and talented voice of Der Feuerkreiner.
The artwork is created by Niba, Italian sculptress representing the lovers at a moment of great emotion, a sublime dimension of time eternalized, a subtle and refined eroticism in which the male figure contemplates the face of the woman he loves, countered with an equal intensity. $13.00

As a solo composer, San Francisco based, multi-instrumentalist Leila Abdul-Rauf stylistically diverges from her current and previous work in much heavier projects (Vastum, Ionophore, Hammers of Misfortune, Amber Asylum, Bastard Noise), and finds a home on Malignant side label, Antibody. Insomnia represents her first CD release following an LP on Saadi Saati in 2013, and a collaborative 7" with Tor Lundvall on Dais Records in 2014. Insomnia brings the spirit of these earlier releases to a new level of dynamic richness, with additional instrumentation and several guest contributions. Brass, piano and various other textures are delicately woven into filmic soundscapes that echo the sounds of memories faded through time. Solemn vignettes seem to emanate from an early morning dream state, the late autumnal tones and noir-ish melodies drifting through fog, evoking feelings of quiet isolation and solitude. Recalling haunting and desolate places, a private world is exposed, where time and space are distilled down to what remain of distant pasts and hidden emotions, melded into a symphony of ethereal melancholy. In 6 panel digipak with striking and complementary artwork by renowned artist Mark Thompson, Insomnia represents some of the most beautifully emotive and introspective work ever to grace the Malignant roster. For fans of: Tor Lundvall, Caul, Lisa Gerrard, Dead Can Dance.. $10.66

Letum - The Fifth State Of Grief CD ( Self-released: MH01)
Finally a new Letum album, eight years after the Cold Meat Industry release “Broken” and fourteen years after “The Entrance to Salvation”. The new album “The Fifth State of Grief“ is taking place at the time of death, both before and after and focusing on the grieving process of loss. Also reflections on life itself, the meaning, the burdens, the change and all what comes with living. While the music on “Broken” had frustration, this album has more of a feeling, or sense of being left all alone in a dark and misunderstood world. The vocals (on about half the songs) try to express this further but the music always speaks for itself. As on “Broken” the music is sometimes dynamic and ranging from calm, relaxing and beautiful to more majestic, evil and powerful.Edition of 500 copies in 6 Panel Digipak with bandname/title in beautiful silverfoil. 11 tracks. 54 min.. $13.00

Love Rahbek & Puce Mary - The Female Form LP ( Posh Isolation: Posh145)
The Female Form is the second collaborative record between two of Copenhagen’s most prolific experimental music personas. Frederikke Hoffmeier’s Puce Mary project is known from several solo records on Posh Isolation and her collaborative releases with Sewer Election, as well as almost countless shows and performances all over the world. Loke Rahbek is probably best known for his work as half of Posh Isolation and his projects under the aliases Croatian Amor, Damien Dubrovnik, Lust for Youth, Vår and an impressive body of work manifested both as records, performances and strange places in between. Together they have previously released ‘The Closed Room’ on Posh Isolation in 2011 and now, four years later, they are ready with the second record of their planned trilogy.
The Female Form was recorded partly in their shared studio in Copenhagen located inside the venue and studio complex Mayhem, and partly at the historical Electro-Acoustic EMS studio in Stockholm. Thematically the record deals with intimacy and the (im)possible relation of the sexes. It is obvious that the two artists have grown vastly, both as composers and lyricists since their last collaborative effort. Still, it feels like ‘The Female Form’ follows where ’The Closed Room’ left of, walking a path in between industrial, drone and electro acoustic music. The room is still closed, the doors are shut and windows covered, whatever insight the listener is granted is the kind of insight you get peeping through the keyhole or the crack between the curtains. Every motion is obscured and the outcome uncertain. Still, the seven pieces that form ’The Female Form’ is a demanding and intriguing venture into the two artists’ world, even if we are left at the doorstep with the door closed in front of us.. $22.00

Machinefabriek - The Measures Taken CD ( Zoharum: Zohar091-2)
Renowned sound artist Rutger Zuydervelt returns with a brand new album. ”The Measures Taken” is the score for a dance performance by choreographer Alexander Whitley and visual artists Marshmallow Laser Feast. It was originally commissioned by the Royal Opera House and premiered there in May 2014. The spectacular performance involves a lot of hi-tech interactivity between dancers and projected visuals. The theme of man vs/with machine is magnified by the music, which combines warm melodic pads with glitchy white noise and propulsive rhythms. A striking musical output, with or without the visuals. Ltd x 300 copies in a 6-panel digisleeve.

Masonna - The Passion of Rubbers LP ( Urashima: UMA091)
"The question of what's one's favorite item from their collection (or accumulation) consistently pops up in conversations amongst fans and collectors, and this unquestionably is always my answer. From head-to-toe, insert-to-tape, all elements are in glorious harmony and conversation with what another. Having the G.R.O.S.S. label's 'industrial design' fetish/obsession (some would say a relatively antiseptic departure from much of the other noise tapes of the time) articulating the sexualized rubber/bondage theme is a fantastic intersection, and one, to my knowledge, not touched upon again as overtly by the label (the subtle rope-play of The Three Temples excluded). The presentation truly is the content, and vice-versa; a unique trait in the young but deep legacy of Noise tape packaging. I marvel at the object's concrete refined sense of pruriency – the particular choice of patterned rubber material, the ornamental silver, the crude claw of staples holding the fucker together – all without resorting to pre-fabricated means (for example Dildo & the Dildoes releasing a tape hanging from a vibrator or something). Every time I've slowly and carefully undone the buckle, hear the crack of Velcro, pried the rubber shell open, and later meticulously sealed up its intricacies once I'm finished, the process has felt like nothing less than ritual. Moving on to the actual tapes themeself – double C10 – another perfect choice ; four parts of ‘acidtronics' – a concise statement forced by physical circumstance. I've always been a sucker for increments of twenty minutes on cassettes (in this case the total program being twenty), as well as short tapes, maybe because they focus on what truly matters – how the ‘side flip' is handled: a similarity with others' obsession with 7-inch singles. Parts One, Two and Four offer ‘live takes', uncut and ramming full speed , differing from the intense cut up techniques reported on other studio efforts from the time period; just organic velocity. A fucking monolithic vacuum cleaner sucking up all bullshit ‘good time' posturing, headbands and peace signs, and blowing them into a rubber isolation suite filled with sex gas so that one can truly get deep and ‘well-acquainted ‘ with the finer onanistic details. The Third part/side is a relative anomaly, a marked contrast – echoed out spacious synth bells – the tense and the delicate sharing opposite sides of the same space as the brutish and primal. Simple but effective sequencing; a crucial piece that bare all intentions behind the churning sonic mass surrounding. Taken inside as a whole, the four side shape a massively pleasing and dynamic curve. Absolutely ‘psych' – psychosexual and psychedelic. A ++, five star, two thumbs up, four spurting cocks and all that. C. Spencer Yeh – AS LOUD AS POSSIBLE Issue One 2010 on The Passion of Rubbers 2 x C10 cassette

Maurizio Bianchi - Cold Tape LP ( Urashima: UMA090)
Maurizio Bianchi began to produce music in 1979, since 1980 using electronic equipment with the avowed goal "to produce technological sounds and in such a way to work on complete realising of the modern decadence". In the beginning, he published tapes under the alias Sacher-Pelz. Cold Tape that follow Voyeur Tape and close the tetralogy begun with Industrial Tape, was recorded in August 1980 under the name MB.Cold Tape is composed of two long and exquisite pieces, with muddy and powerful sounds. It seems to walk the wrong sidewalk, to walk on thorns without the rose petals. The petals were eaten by the dancers and irascible elves. Music is hardened by a hidden evil and melancholy, where everything does not want to stand in his place. No changes of pitch were made in the mastering process. Maurizio Bianchi began to produce music in 1979, since 1980 using electronic equipment with the avowed goal "to produce technological sounds and in such a way to work on complete realising of the modern decadence". In the beginning, he published tapes under the alias Sacher-Pelz. Voyeur Tape was one of the first release under the name MB (after Industrial and Atomique Tape), recorded in July 1980. Maurizio Bianchi elaborates his abstract and exhausting art with care and great detail. Voyeur Tape is a tangible example of depraved investigation. Not continue quiet while listening to these tracks, it seems that something tremendous to happen. Michael Idehall - Deep Code Sol CD ( Ant-Zen: Act329)
Michael Idehall is a composer, sound artist, painter, and author living and working in Gothenburg, Sweden whose artistic output has always striven to create an opening into a world beyond the mundane. The creative process involves honing in on the nexuses between the flows of mind, matter and spirit. nexuses which exist inside the human being, but also in the outer world, as conglomerations of energy and matter. In Michael's creations, this convergence is revealed through the clash of the ancient and the modern, natural and artificial, and first and foremost the instilling of spirit into object.
Listening to Idehall's sound, one could be forgiven for thinking of Psychic TV, Coil and similar, esoterically inclined artists. Not that his seancetronica (as he names his music) really sound like any of those, but he - or what ever unseen force is imprinted into his machines - conjures up the same emotional states. This album which contains two of his works previously released on tape appears as a journey of sorts, a search for what lies beyond the conscious mind. it is naked and physical music, Sweaty, sexual, and sublime but at the same time obscure and ethereal, forcing the listener into a state of ecstatic trance and captivated paralysis. a ritualistic maelstrom of dark, unsettling tunes where syncopated death industrial and disturbing ambience walk hand in hand, overlaid with desperate vocal declamations.
Idehall warns us that 'this music should be engaged with caution and it should be regarded as a series of conditioned technomantical experiments' but should you choose to follow him, you will be greatly rewarded.. $13.00

Mollusk King/Mold Crevice - Anatomy Lessened CS ( Drifter Din Recordings: DDR-XX)
With just one track from each band, and both coming in at under the 5 minute mark, it's a case of quality over quantity, but what's here is worth every penny. Mollusk King is the latest project from Tommuel Reynolds, whom some of you may know from his prior (?) project Content Nullity, and if the piece on Anatomy Lessened is any indication, good things are ahead; 4:45 minutes of taught, tension filled rhythmic power electronics with pummeling, pneumatic percussion, up front and deranged vocals, and modulating frequencies that by the end, just sound completely ill and unstable. Mold Crevice from Seattle does an admirable job keeping pace, delivering a vile little track of snarling, agitated synth noises with rhythms that alternate between a steady syncopated thump and heavier, assembly line clangs. Vocals and samples come into play as well, and the whole thing is just complete. Intense. Excellent across the board.. $6.66

Negru Pvlse - Fervere ( UR Muzik: UR009)
An album that was long in the making. The creative minds of Mathias Josefson (Moljebka Pvlse) and Peter Nyström (Negru Voda, ex-Megaptera) join forces again to return 13 years after their first album Madeira (2002, Old Europa Cafe). Fervere in Latin stands for ‘boil’ or ‘seethe’ and these expressions accurately capture the one hour content of Negru Pvlse’s sophomore release: dark, dense and often rhythmic soundwaves that Megaptera’s mastermind is known for and the unique and more dreamy ambient parts by Mathias Josefson. The whole, however, presents itself as a distinct and independent work of a fully developed band, and not as a mere collaboration. Fervere is a complex yet highly addictive work that will make you realize the long wait was well worth it!. $12.00

Northaunt & Svartsinn - The Borrowed World ( LOKI: Pas34)
Re-stock! Inspired by Cormac Mc Carthy´s novel ‘The Road’, the two Norwegian masterminds Haerleif Langas and Jan Roger Petterson joined forces to create this stunning split album. This release brings finally new recordings since Northaunt´s ‘Horizon’ from 2006 and Svartsinn´s ‘Elegies for the End’ from 2009 (both CDs released on Cyclic Law).‘The Borrowed World’ is the soundtrack for a world in decay, directed by the emotive and grandly melancholic signature of both projects. This is isolationist ambient music that unfolds its meditative atmosphere with majestic and melodic waves of droning sounds, environmental field recordings from the icy landscapes of the deepest North and magnificent Cello recordings of Amund Ulvestad.
The ashes of the late world carried on the bleak and temporal winds to and fro in the void. Carried forth and scattered and carried forth again. Everything uncoupled from it’s shoring. Unsupported in the ashen air. Sustained by a breath, trembling and brief. If only my heart were stone.. $13.33

Formal debut of this Hungarian death industrial/ambient project, Odour Sonour does more than an admirable job of capturing the obscure and oppressive atmosphere of something you may have found on Death Odors era Slaughter Productions (ie, 1994-1995) as it deftly alternates between murky and blackened isolationism to more noxious and putrid realms. Of course, all of it comes wrapped in a charred, still smoldering post-apocalyptic embrace and carries a generally negative world view that fans of Megaptera, Today I'm Dead, and Archon Satani can appreciate. Of Earth and Sun - Uncoiled CD ( Malignant: TumorCD87)
A new entry into the Malignant family, Of Earth and Sun is the project of Denver based Matthew Hunzeker, who skillfully utilizes a variety of both organic and electronic instrumentation ranging from bone trumpets, vocals, oscillators, and drum machines to create impressive soundscapes of heavily ritualistic inspired drones and intoxicating, near cataclysmic invocations. These are not intimate, candle-lit ruminations, but something that operates on a much grander, more corporeal level. As Hunzeker describes it, "the music plunges listeners into the depths of the supernatural; into a completely inhospitable environment from the point of view of human understanding, acquiring a dark psychedelic sound verging on noise and doom, which transforms into an unfathomable inner cavity of mystic and ritual symbolism that viscerally affects the energies flowing in the body and mind".
At first, the 9 tracks that comprise Uncoiled seem monolithic and almost overpoweringly dense, but repeated listens reveal them to be intensely hypnotic and mesmerizing, often times starting with singular, elongated vocalizations or slow motion thrums that rapidly blossom into a cascade of swarming drones and thumping pulsations. By the end, they've been transformed into a consuming mass of saturated, turbulent sound, falling somewhere between the visceral, immersive nature of Theologian and the meditative, organic darkness of Halo Manash. Skillfully assembled and evocative, what Of Earth and Sun create is immersive, heavy, and riveting, and represents a unique new vision onto the scene.. $10.00

Raison D'Etre - Mise en Abyme ( Drone: TR-10)
Re-stock! Transgredient Records is very proud to release the newest studio-work by this well known Swedish ambient industrial project, continually renewing the dark ambient genre since 1992.
"Mise en Abyme" is the first Raison d'etre studio album in over 4 years, following a very special "initiation concept" with an emphasis on the experience of sequential psychological states with cathartic effects - diving into the deepest regions of the subconscious in order to return with a fresh and 'empty' mind. All the previously beloved elements of Raison d'etres music are here: spacious deep drones, touching sacral choirs, ritualistic sounds from gongs and bells and other awesome integrated field / object recordings - all impressively enhanced to reach a new level of masterful atmospheric composition. Moving from dramatic tension and threatening uproar to meditative beauty, this near hour long album reveals various changes and details, while always sounding monolithic (all of one piece), expressing almost unbearable sensations of melancholy, vastness and contemplation. The idea behind this album, in the words of the artist: " 'Mise en Abyme' is an inner journey down to the most hidden and dark parts of the Self. 'Mise en Abyme' literally means 'placed into the abyss' and conceptually the album contains ingredients from 'The Divine Comedy' by Dante or any similar stories/myths around the katabasis theme. Instead of being linked to religion, history or morality, it is purely a psychological and therapeutic trip to the underworld, investigating the subconscious. But even in the darkest and chaotic places in the depths, there are small shades of light, hope and understanding; one can be enlightened and purified upon returning to the conscious world."

Rapoon & Promute - Machine River CD ( Zoharum: Zohar079-2)
Not only is Robin Storey aka Rapoon a very prolific solo artist, but also he collaborates with many musicians from all over the world. He has already worked with Mykel Boys, Wyrm, Pas Musique, Kinder Atom, Cisfinitum, Pacific 231 et al. This time he teamed up with Shaun Sandor aka Promute to create 8 haunting tracks.
This is the story of their meeting in the words of Shaun Sandor: This collaboration between Rapoon and Promute is a direct result of the 2011 Endless Form Tour. For several nights in a row in different cities I sat in a swirling mist of sound conjured by Rapoon. The music easily generated notions of timelessness and seductive landscapes. In all of this, I was realizing that the electro-acoustic set that I was performing seemed to be a natural compliment to the music of Rapoon. I created several dozen tracks of homemade instruments, prepared guitar and bass, and sitar and sent them to Robin Storey to manipulate, process and edit. I asked my friend Des Kashyap to contribute some vocals as well, and he agreed. Robin added his music and vocals as well and did the arranging and mixing.

Regosphere/Teeth Engraved - Split C-20 CS ( Dumpster Score Recordings: DSC113)
Here we have a split between two of the Pacific Northwest's most well known and hardest working Death-Industrial/Heavy Electronics acts.
Regosphere from Eugene, OR is up first with a new track written for the tour with Xiphoid Dementia and Telluris last summer. Pulsing bass splatters and pounding metal lay the foundation for scathing vocals, hissing synths, disorienting sound design and nasty junk metal abuse in this studio version of that live set. Lyrics deal with the fragmentation of self through consumer technology and the splitting of personalities into real life and digital realms. This track marks a real progression for the project and is a good preview of the upcoming full-length.
Teeth Engraved are a duo from Portland, OR who present the first new track since their "Starving The Fires" full-length came out on Malignant last year. Bringing out the more melodic side only hinted at on that record they give a bleak but ultimately melancholy track. Cold unflinching synth pads and slithering distorted bass roll in like a fog, guided by mournful percussion and carefully calculated sound design. Eventually layers of grinding noise and crushing vocals make their way into mix, completely overwhelming you before fading back into the abyss. With lyrics culled from one of the members dreams, they have really committed a nightmare to tape with this new work.
Pro-dubbed chrome tapes with full color cover art, lyrics and black on silver imprinted tapes. Both sides mastered by John Stillings. Includes a download card. Limited to 100 copies.. $7.67

Resgestae - Etat d'Urgence CD ( Force Majeur/Nuit Et Brouillard: Force008)
Resgestae is the project of Nicholas P., an experimental musician living in Athens, Greece. Resgestae's purpose is to compose contemporary power-electronics with both "cultural terrorism" and an esoteric aesthetic. mixing extreme frequencies, samples and drones to form a deep sub-sonic landscape. This creates a cinematic experience incorporating true political, social and economic elements. Etat d'Urgence deals with media control, the deep state, technoscience and biotechnology and is no more than a social control soundtrack, an experience in our daily lives of fear. Seetyca - Nemeton ( Winter-Light: Win003)
Nemeton" is the brand new studio album from Seetyca. In the ancient Celtic tradition, a Nemeton was a sacred space, primarily situated in natural areas, often sacred groves of trees. The album will take you to your own sacred place, as it hints at what lies hidden, ever deeper in the thick forests and darkened woods of Germany. A lo-fi master piece in dark ambient, the six tracks on this CD invoke feelings of apprehension, wonder and longing for a place never visited in the flesh but often travelled to in the minds eye. A place that lies tantalising just out of reach in the distance but that at any moment can become all consuming and enveloping. Encompassing you in thick dark layers of ambience and transporting you to a space from which there is no return. Ltd x 300 copies in a 6-panel digipak. $11.33

S.E.T.I. - The Geometry of Night 2CD ( LOKI/Power & Steel: PAS39)
First released in 1996, `The Geometry of Night´ is the second album of Andrew Lagowski´s deep space sound project which marked a reference point to his works under the name LAGOWSKI. A classic album with laid back percussion, finely-tuned electronics, dark atmospheric synth waves and soundscapes. All constructed around a central premise; 'The Geometry of Night' perfectly describes the themes of night sky surveys, surveillance operations and radio telescope disinformation with the advice to keep a wary eye on the dark side of human nature. This is a remedy for the lonely nights staring at your social interface, the melancholy for lost opportunities and a hope for what lies beyond the nearest nebula.
This newly re-mastered edition includes the sister album `Companion´ with more than 60 minutes of new material. The concept involves companions, bound together by molecular chains, enveloped in dark matter and history. Swirling endlessly within infinite illuminating spirals. Their BrEAUTalitY - answerable only to the laws of universal physics and spiritual cosmology. A stunning soundtrack of deep hypnotic drones, textured layers of noise and space transmissions. Moving extra terrestrial sound research to its deepest core!
This double CD set comes in a nice 6-panel digifile. Mastered at Secretlab.. $15.67

Sewer Goddess - Hymns of Infliction CD ( Terror: Terror39)
A turn back to the roots of Sewer Goddess, compiling material written and recorded between 2008-2009; pure, gritty, primitive and filthy industrial soundscapes when Sewer Goddess was still Kristen's solo project. This is pretty stripped down and bleak, and the sound has evolved considerably since these recordings, but they're still essential snapshots of the early Sewer Goddess material, and really strong work even in the earlier stages. A must!. $11.66

Sewer Goddess - Painlust CD ( Black Plagve: Infect14)
Sewer Goddess’ 2010 CD debut, “With Dirt You Are One”, seemed to come and go in the blink of a rotted eye, and while there have been numerous tape, compilation, and live recordings since then, nothing could possibly prepare you for the evolution in sound that has occurred since then. Recent material and performances have certainly hinted at it, but “Painlust” goes beyond all expectations and delivers what is up to this point, their benchmark recording. Now backed by a full fledged band and recorded in studio, Kristen Rose and co. have taken a blade to the original Sewer Goddess template and ceremoniously cut the fat, leaving a lean, sinewy carcass that’s as much doom metal as it death industrial. The 6 tracks here are an asphyxiating death march that’s concise and devastatingly heavy, the lurching, sludge driven guitar, dissonant riffs, and bass all in a rigid lockstep with heaving, pneumatic percussion. Bound with bewitching and often maniacal vocal shrieks and moans, and heaps of ghastly electronic filth, it’s a brilliant dichotomy between human and machine, resulting in a listening experience that’s at once enthralling and terrifying. In jewel box with 8 page booklet, designed by Andre Coelho.
"Painlust is a violent, writhing, cryptic near-masterpiece..." Toiletovhell

Sol - Where Suns Come to Die CD ( Cold Spring: CSR186CD)
Where Suns Come To Die is an exploration of growing older; the disappointment that follows and the omnipresent dissociation from the world and life as such. In a mixture of sampled classical songs from the beginning of the last century and recorded instruments such as reed organ, horns and strings the music reflects on a nostalgia and a feeling of disconnection to the modern world. Holding on to what last shreds of beauty still lingers Where suns come to die is a reminder that life is with end and we all must offer ourselves to the soil. Where Suns Come To Die consists of four tracks featuring Thomas Bøjden of Die Weisse Rose on vocals.. $12.50

SPHÄRE SECHS - Enceladus CD ( Malignant: TumorCD83)
A follow up to the highly acclaimed and quickly sold out Tiefschlaf CD (TumorCD56, 2012), this project of Phelios’ Martin Stürtzer and Christian Striztel finds the duo traveling even further out into space, beyond the reaches of light and into realms never before explored. While the overall approach is similar to Tiefschlaf and there’s certainly some shared DNA at play here, the seven tracks that comprise Enceladus feel weightier and darker…a glorious amalgam of drift and synth drone that seems to extend beyond any visual measure, the tones and textures floating off into an infinite expanse, pulled and stretched by an unseen gravitational force. Space inspired dark ambient can be a tricky thing…a common theme attempted by many with some measure of success, but few capture the coldness, stillness, and awe inspiring beauty of the interstellar void so brilliantly as Sphäre Sechs. Recorded solely on analog equipment without the use of computers, Enceladus is a deeply mesmerizing and hypnotic excursion best played on headphones or in solitude for maximum effect. 4 panel, matte finished digipak with metallic ink highlights designed by Alonso Urbanos.. $10.66

Streicher - Annihilism CD ( Old Captain: OCCD10)
Old Captain is proud to offer a CD release of a true non-conformist artist - Ülex Xane and his vehement project Streicher. Streicher is one of the Industrial underground legends. Starting in Australia in the mid 80s with early projects such as Psy.Phalanx and Nife Junger, Ulex Xane began his Power Electronics/nOise project Streicher with a series of tape releases on his own label Zero Cabal. Originally inspired by his contact with Come Organisation (William Bennett of Whitehouse) and Broken Flag (Gary Mundy of Ramleh), Xane developed Streicher into his own unique style of Power Electronics, which came to be known as 'Oi Noise', extreme noise released mostly on cassette and distributed through the tape networks up to the early 90s which are now sought after collectors items. Streicher utilises a mix of total power noise with covert military recordings. A monument to futility, Streicher's "Annihilism" recording is a stark comment on the current war without end. Recorded at Anal Ripper Studio in 1989-1991 and originally released by Zero Cabal in 1995. Old Captain's 2015 special 20th Anniversary re-issue edition of 200 copies in 4 panel Digipak.. $13.50

Strom Noir - Glaciology CD ( Zoharum: Zohar090-2)
Strom Noir, which is a moniker for Emil Maťko, amazed everyone with his last year's album "Urban Blues", which saw Emil exploring urban spaces with the use of ephemeral guitar melodies. On his new album on Zoharum Emil, goes to entirely different places: filled with white glaciers and snow-capped mountains.
The subtitle of Strom Noir latest album is "Four Songs about Snow and Ice." Emil Maťko skillfully converted the arctic landscapes into sonic structures. Four compositions filled with static guitar drones resemble a snowy picture. They unravel very slowly and subtly into one another. They require focusing on them. A 20-minute bonus track which is the full version of ”Niekedy Sa Vracaju” originally released on "Tanec Rusaliek" cassette in the shortened version, has a similar sense.
The CD is housed in an ecopak sleeve and is strictly limited to 300 copies. The cover is based on photos by Martin Matula. ”Glaciology” was mastered by Michal Iliaš. The whole production process was overseen by Michał Porwet.. $12.00

The Rita - Queen Sheets 2LP ( Urashima: UMA094)
Some time ago a colleague emailed me and informed me that an artist made a short video of herself knitting to THE RITA's 'Thousands of Dead Gods.' I watched the short video and thought it was interesting, but then also noticed that the woman had a link included on her 'Instagram' account for her sculptural works. I had a look at her work and was instantly taken by the sheer immensity and power of her structures, all exemplary of long hours of labour and provocative patterns behind the materials. The most notable structure for me was the piece 'Untitled Form (Barrier)' which was made up of timber, bricks, mortar and a semi-dynamic use of the material chiffon to hold bricks in a hanging fashion. The semi-opaque, stretching quality behind the white chiffon with height of almost 8 feet instantly brought to mind the focus of my past recordings that delved into the world of nylon and stocking fetishism, eventually contemplating the semi-opaque salmon pink qualities behind the tights used by classical ballerinas and the expanded practice and tradition therein. Looking at an imposing 8'4 x 8' structure like Megan Miller's 'Untitled Form (Barrier)' and it's materials made me think that any sound made by the structure's movement of bricks against each other piled in a virtual sling of moving chiffon would be perfect for textural, abrasive sound source. After some discussion with Megan, it was decided that a new structure would be built for a collaboration with THE RITA that embraced not themes of fetishism, but expanded utilitarian themes around the use of nylon; the stockings, tights and nylon that women wore to work, what our mother's wore for warmth, comfort, and most importantly the virtual make-up of the fabric, the inherent qualities it featured. Her eventual new outdoor sculpture was entitled 'Queen Sheets' and also made use of brick and mortar, expanding over a flat area with semi-opaque chiffon stretching over the whole of the area, covering it. 'Untitled Form (Barrier)' was also erected again in the same outdoor area, and this time the labor intensive building process of both sculptures was recorded for eventual processing by THE RITA. Sam McKinlay
‘'An exquisite and entirely feminine material, much can be said of nylon. It moves like us and with us, stretches like us and with us, and, although extremely delicate and easily torn, the fiber is strong enough to make me wonder if it could support bricks. Pantyhose become our second skin, our birth-skin held in its softness. The sound of its softness is remarkable – the sound of second skin of birth – skin and the light sweet between.'' - In a letter to Sam from Megan on March 31 th , 2014 - (in response to the Rita's ‘'Ballet Feet Positions'')
Both records are impressive, inspired and near perfect examples of Mr. McKinlay brutal sonic talents. This is easily one of the highlights of this year noise releases and a high point in the Rita discography. A must have item for HNW/Noise fans; but also a great entry point into the genre to see how one of the masters of the form performs.Double Lp has been pressed on 140 gr black vinyl with black label and black inner sleeve and comes in a deluxe silver silkscreen on black cardboard sleeve, limited to 199 copies w/insert in luxury 160 gr ivory paper, plus four color photographs. Thomas Dimuzio - Amid Zero Echo 2x10 inch ( Drone: Sub20)
"Thomas Dimuzio's Amid Zero Echo marks the new release from this US underground legend from San Francisco, whose massive hypnotic soundscapes already released in the 90's were much ahead of the time!
Four new transcendental drone masterworks abstracted from electric guitar bristle with life through the dense, rich and detailed sonic expanse of Dimuzio's glorious sound world. Vibrating wires of the electric guitar inform a digital musique concrete modus operandi replete with unheard studio techniques which form a music with a strong organic core. These four drones open wide rooms for phantastic aural imaginations: like flying over endless grounds of unknown origin, sensing a heavy suction of extreme gravity, moving towards a black hole center... or driving into a totally dark mining tunnel with all the metallic ore and dust around.... These are drones that LIVE from the inside! Striking gatefold artwork by Mars Wellink showcases two clear vinyl LPs in an equally compelling and beautifully designed package.
Thomas Dimuzio is a musician, composer, sound designer, mastering engineer, label proprietor, and music technologist residing in San Francisco, California. Inspired as much by John Cage as Led Zeppelin, Dimuzio's music forms a sonic excursion that transports the listener into other worldly aural realms. “His work has a narrative, filmic tug that will draw you into its dark corners, ears alert… brilliant and rarely less than entertaining.” [Peter Marsh, BBC]
Long regarded as a musical pioneer for his innovative use of live sampling and looping techniques, Dimuzio has earned a deserved reputation worldwide as an avant-garde sound artist in touch with the aesthetic pulse of time and technology. A true sonic alchemist who can seemingly create music events out of almost anything, Dimuzio's listed sound sources on his various releases include everything from 'modified 10 speed bicycle' and 'resonating water pipe' to short-wave radios, loops, feedback, samplers, synthesizers and even normal instruments such as guitar, clarinet and trumpet. Dimuzio's eclecticism bespeaks a career equally informed by a profound dedication to his craft and collaborations with friends, artists and technologists alike.

Thorofon - Live N' Buried CS ( Raubbau: Raub35)
Thorofon have always been about sharp contrasts: harsh and catchy, upfront and subversive, male and female, on and off. After a five-year-hiatus between 2005 and 2010, they recorded their 'Exkarnation' album for Ant-Zen and returned for a packed live performance at the Maschinenfest, where they presented an amalgamate of their newer industrial pop tracks (best represented by the appropriate adaption of SPK’s 'Flesh and Steel') with moments from their own noisy history, like the eternal power electronics floor filler 'Riotdictator'. The eight tracks of this performance are a display of enthusiasm, with a common groove provided by 'real' drumming. The second half of 'Live N’Buried' was recorded in 2013 at the Le Petite Bain club in Paris .Here Thorofon take their fathoming of extremes even further, the decidedly electronic sound providing scorching industrial devastation as well as neat electronic melodies - a development the fans also could observe on their mLP 'Targets', of which two tracks are featured here, as well as two unreleased ones! Confident and experienced, Thorofon are one of those acts who follow the idea that playing live is more than presenting studio material to an audience, their authentic approach of unconcerned dialectic coming on stronger than ever.. $12.67

Trepaneringsritualen - Veil the World CD ( Cold Spring: CSR205CD)
»All seals have been broken« proclaims a demonic voice on the titular track of Veil The World, and that is something terrifyingly evident in the music contained therein. On Veil The World, Trepaneringsritualen veers from crepuscular ritual moods to rabid death chants reveling, even celebrating the imminent end of flesh. Veil the World – originally released in a very limited and ultra-lavish box by Kości Tapes in 2011 – marks the half-way point between the earlier, more atmospheric works of T × R × P, and the more visceral aggression of the later material.
Trepaneringsritualen explores themes of religion, magick and the hidden realms of consciousness, taking its musical cues from the old school of ritual ambient & death industrial. Rhythmic and seething at times, and oozing forward with a creeping sense of desolation at others, Trepaneringsritualen conjures forth bleak but mesmerizing visions of the end-times.
Originally released in an edition of just 40 tapes in 2011, we’re very proud to announce the CD reissue of “Veil The World”. Remastered and presented in a 6 panel digipak, T x R x P once again assert themselves as the true masters of Swedish Ritual Industrial. Ltd x 1000 copies only. Anyone who saw the show at SE:UK Industrial Alliance knows this is *essential*!. $12.77

Troum & Yen Pox - Mnemonic Induction CD ( Transgredient: TR-11)
" 'All minds dream, and all dreams are flavored with madness...' Completely re-mastered re-issue of this much requested dark dream-opus from 2002, now bringing out more sound details inside the endless amorphous morass; 4 movements, 63+ min. long. Comes with NEW artwork by GYDJA incl. the 'dream essay' by R.B. HENSLEY that should be read accompanying during this subconscious/subsonic experience.
"How could this be anything but perfect? Two of the most capable ambient projects of the current generation doing what they do best: dark ambient. I'm tempted to say nothing except that this is exactly what you hope it will be. Dark, escalating, imperious walls and oceans of titanic sound. Swelling currents of icy miasma swirling endlessly on through a descending subterranean river five miles wide. It rumbles and groans and shudders for ages. How does one get so much depth out of sound? .... The listener can penetrate so far into this landscape. The tones are so elaborately pieced together that the forefront is gauzy, wispy, ghostlike. On the horizon are huge stone structures, mountains, tornadoes of power but far away and almost invisible to the ear. Affecting you only by subsonic booms that rattle the soles of your feet. You can almost step into this and turn around on your heels, face your room and watch your body recede as you slip slowly away on a living ocean of sound."
"German drone artist Troum and the American dark ambient project Yen Pox collaborate on one of the best albums released so far this year. Some might say that ‘Mnemonic Induction’ would make a great soundtrack for a film, and while that may be true, it would totally ruin the album. Other people’s images associated with this cd would never do it justice. Like they say, nothing can be worse (better than?) your own imagination, and such is the case here. The four long, untitled tracks have one thing in common, a deep brooding low end drone that gave my subwoofers a much needed work out. Layered over top are eerie wails and moans stretched out to inhuman lengths while bleak rumblings phase in and out. The best thing about this album is the way in which it is able to capture and hold your attention. Rather than becoming just good background music, it stays active, alternating between soaring expansiveness and claustrophobia. The slick digipack contains a paragraph about dreams and the separation of mind and body, but to use this CD as a dream aid, something to fall asleep to, would be a mistake. What the album does best is not to conjure strange dreams, but to evoke one’s waking memories, and associate the album with one’s own experiences. But try not to dwell on your bad stuff, this album deserves better." [Brainwashed 2002]. $12.50

Tunnels of Ah - Thus Avici CD ( Cold Spring: CSR206CD)
“Firstly, the punishment is meted out day and night, kalpa after kalpa, without a moment’s interruption or relief. Thus Avici”. ‘Thus Avici’ is the second album from Tunnels Of Ah (Stephen Ah Burroughs / Head Of David). The title references ‘the sutra of bodhisattva Ksitigarbha’s fundamental vows’, a section of which Burroughs reads daily in homage to Ksitigarbha whom Burroughs pledged ‘entreaty and supplication’ under solemn tantric oath 20 years ago. Tantric buddhism, christian mysticism and personal magick make up the subject matter for ‘Thus Avici’. Where traces of 2013′s ‘Lost Corridors’ album can be heard, ‘Thus Avici’ is a harder, more focused offering. Shards of distorted noise, ritual drums, caustic drones and haunted vocals make ‘Thus Avici’ a dark hallucinatory swoon into the hinterland of the Tunnels Of Ah. Various Artists - Drone- Mind//Mind-Drone Vol. 3 LP ( Drone: Mind03)
3rd in the LP-series from Drone Records, dedicated to the Drones of the World, and the Drones of our Minds. A kind of continuation of the Drone 7"-series on a more user-friendly format. Each LP features four artists from the international drone-scene and is limited to 500 copies, pressed on four different vinyl-colours. Vol. 3: JIM HAYNES (USA), MANINKARI (France), KSHATRIY (Russia), EXIT IN GREY (Russia). stunning artwork paintings by British artist PETE GREENING, design by TILMANN BENNINGHAUS.
JIM HAYNES: psychogeographical drones of rust and decay. This highly interesting sound-artist from San Francisco (also active as painter, label-manager, & writer) is focused on the unpredictable processes of rust & decay in connection with the perception of time. For his contribution "He stopped at a picture..." to the re-newed Drone Rec-series he is using field recordings from a world war 2 era radar outpost (located near the Golden Gate Bridge), combined with shortwave, motors, wire-tapping microphones, analogue electric sounds.. => a breathtaking experimental & raw drone-collage, full of tension & almost dramatic suction, sound of " psychic loss & american paranoia" (JIM HAYNES).
EXIT IN GREY: timeless natural drones. The main project of Russian Sergey [S] from the Moscow-area (who is also active as FIVE ELEMENTS MUSIC & SISTER LOOLOMIE) is mesmerizing the listeners since years with small & handmade editions of emotional daydream-drones, intuitively woven together with guitar, field recordings & analog synths. The long piece "Drawn by Memory/The Wind 2012" is a perfect example of his skills and creates with minimal instrumental & natural sound-sources an atmosphere of timelessness and nostalgia.
KSHATRIY : dark psychedelic (higher?) consciousness drones.KSHATRIY means 'warrior' in Sanskrit and expresses the artists believe in the universal power of sound. Hailing from the fascinating St. Petersburg scene in Russia comes this "fractal dark drone ambient' project, especially focused on cosmic/transpersonal consciousness themes - these "Shifting Waves" sound secretful & mysterious with a phantastic spatial sound-quality (open to both digital & analogue sound sources) for the perfect cosmic mind-movie.
MANINKARI : handplayed / instrumental trance drones. This French duo (consisting of two twin-brothers from Paris) has blown us away with their captivating "handplayed" instrumental drone music, with influences from various styles like Jazz, Art Rock and Classical Music, combining improvisation and composition. Often based on percussion & strings, they look at their sound as a spiritual tool causing a disorder of the mind, a 'visible' transformation of the uncontrollable dreams & their own subsconscious. The two pieces "Enstase 1 & 2" sound at the same time subtle, airy and dense using a suprising instrumentation, and show impressively one of the possible new directions of drone music.
= four projects that differ considerably from each other, but united through the idea of the power of the Drone.. $15.66

Vomit Arsonist, The - Only Red CD ( Malignant: TumorCD77)
Two years after "An Occasion For Death", Andrew Grant's The Vomit Arsonist returns with a vengeance with his second full length for Malignant, "Only Red". Inspired and galvanized by Brighter Death Now's US shows in 2014, Grant's latest takes on an even more visceral and dynamic feel than works past, and is unquestionably the heaviest thing he's ever done. If An Occasion for Death showed moments of self discipline and hints of subtlety, no such restraint exists here, as everything about this record feels amped up to an entirely new realm of intensity. This is The Vomit Arsonist in full attack mode, as explosive and bludgeoning percussion loops emerge from a churning, monolithic pit of corrosive electronics, menacing transformer buzz, chain dragging atmospherics, and gasping machine exhalations. Throw in a heavy dose of processed, acidic vocals and the whole record becomes an adrenaline fueled ride, wrought with tension, extreme nihilism, and palpable hostility. With Only Red, Grant has laid down a new flag at the summit of an already impressive catalog. Final track is a remix of Go Without featuring Kristoffer Oustad. In 6 panel digipak, mastered by John Stillings.

"Only Red is a dark, moody work able to draw on convention and coax forth new sounds, constantly pushing back boundaries and redrawing the boundaries of death industrial. Stomping power electronics, wispy dark ambient and unrelenting noise come together in Grant’s most successful balancing act yet, and perhaps his first moment of real greatness". Toilet ov Hell.. $10.66

Weihan - Blodslitinn A Steininum CD ( Lichterklang: LK025)
Stronger than ever before and seven years after their last album, Weihan return with their impressive new album "Blodslitinn A Steininum". While the previous albums of the Belgian project were characterised by the divergency between Neofolk and martial based influences, Jurgen and Miguel used the long period to strengthen their music on a more sophisticated and variable version of Martial Industrial that is conceptually founded in Norsk sagas and sacrificial pagan rites. The title of the album therefore might also be translated as "The colour of blood on stone". Mastered by Axel Frank (Werkraum). Ltd x 260 copies.. $11.66

One of the most prolific and talented artists of the genre returns with a 2 part series dedicated to and inspired by the work of H.P Lovecraft. Cavernous droning atmospheres painting images of hopeless dread. Subtle Death Industrial loops collide like the tectonic plates of a Black Earth. Dense hypnotic darkness with a unique organic edge.

Worms of the Earth - Sitra Achra CD ( Industry 8: I8-07)
Sitra Achtra is the fourth full length and second dark ambient album, acting as the spiritual successor to 2013’s incredibly well received Azal’Ucel, for ethno-industrial/ritual ambient project Worms of the Earth. Already drawing frequent comparisons to dark ambient masters Raison d’etre, Sephiroth, and In Slaughter Natives, on this record Worms explores even murkier and more illusory aural territory. Ancient, chthonic tribal and gritty industrial elements coalesce with layers of arcane drones, ethereal choirs, and transcendent eastern melodies to open the gateway to the darkest corners of the human psyche in an attempt to explore and understand the inverse realm of primordial chaotic energies, the Qliphoth. Sitra Achra features a greater focus on organic, ritual instruments played by hand - including djembe, gong, bells, bones, etc, along with a plethora of hardware synthesizers. Another focal point is the creation of deep tracks with numerous subtle complexities – headphone listening is strongly encouraged! Sitra Achra is by far the most hauntingly atmospheric, powerful, and spiritually potent material crafted by the project to date which continues the classic, visionary sound of the late Cold Meat Industry.
Limited edition of 262 hand-numbered copies.. $11.66

Yen Pox - Between the Horizon and the Abyss CD ( Malignant: TumorCD85)
Arriving on the scene in 1993 with their self-titled demo, Yen Pox immediately made their presence known with an ability to create monumental, light devouring soundscapes that transcended all that had come before it. Proceeding releases, including their debut CD, Blood Music, 2000’s New Dark Age, and the collaborative CD with Troum only solidified their standing and reputation. With Between the Horizon and the Abyss just being their first full length recording in over 15 years, Yen Pox will never be accused of being prolific. After all, with the two members spread out between Indiana and Washington State, creating new material doesn't exactly lend itself to convenience. But on the rare occasion that recordings do arise, it’s nothing short of masterful, reminding listeners why they’ve achieved such notoriety with such a limited discography, and why their recordings are consistently recognized as benchmarks within the dark ambient genre.Time between releases has been well spent, with the new material taking the early template and expounding upon it greatly, adding layers of industrial churn and structure to the infernal kosmische sprawl they’re so adept at creating. And yet throughout its entirety, Between the Horizon and the Abyss is remarkably polished and fluid. Within its realm, no seconds feel wasted, and every sound feels purposefully placed, even as it moves and flows in perpetual motion; strains of a distant angelic choirs fall beneath a complex array of arcing tones, liquidous, molten textures, & harrowing orchestral shimmer, with fervent masses of malevolent atmospherics billowing forth in glorious detail. While this technically falls under the banner of dark ambient, what Yen Pox has managed to create goes far beyond genre specifications and boundaries, crafting a new benchmark and adding a high water mark to an already stellar discography. Tracklisting: The Awakening (6:29), White of the Eye (9:41), Cold Summer Skin (9:44), In Silent Fields (8:59), Grief Ritual (8:40), Ashen Shroud (10:23), Tomorrow in Ruins (8:48), The Procession (11:09).

"Not since the days of Irrlicht and Zeit has dark ambient sounded so sinister. Two decades after helping to define the genre Yen Pox emerge with what is probably the heaviest and most chilling pure dark ambient album in existence today." John Norby, Zero Tolerance

"With the monolithic sound of Yen Pox’s dark ambient soundscapes, they effortlessly articulate a vast cosmic sonic scale which overshadows a human scale perspective..."Noise Receptor

"...one of the most defining albums for dark ambient music of the past decade". Heathen Harvest
