Abjection Ritual - Psychiatric Failures CDr ( Self-released: AR02)
The follow-up to the well received self titled Abjection Ritual debut was inspired by mental illness, past and present abuses within institutions, the letters of Antonin Artaud, and the early anti-psychiatry movement. As I alluded to in my review of the first CD, Abjection Ritual is perhaps the definitive new force in American death industrial/power electronics, and the 7 tracks here only solidify that; grim constructions that alternate between being hyper violent and explosive to more bleak arrangements of nauseating electronics and radioactive waste, with a vocal delivery that just ramps things up to impossible levels of intensity. Tightly focused, perfectly executed, and about as good as anything you're bound to hear all year.. $6.66

Aeoga - Impaled by the Midnight Chant C-62 Cassette ( Aural Hypnox: AHMC07)
This is the latest recording of the duo and presents both the studio-live and live versions of their currently presented live set.
From the chambers of midnight heralds, the trifold influx of waiting shadows is shimmering in the polar night. The poison is dripping from the stars as the outré communique wilts in the howling of opening earths. Animated in the looming sidereal fields the forms possessed of their own essence enter into the caverns of the roaring chant.
Rough guitar drones, eerie slashes from chanting saw and shadowy rumblings from self-built modular synths and tape-loops culminate in a work that could be described as a psychedelic slowly moving mass of ritual electronics.
The cassette is housed inside oversized, silk-screen printed cardboard covers including five insert cards and a pack of incense (15g) created especially for this release by Mount Hypnox. Limited to 133 copies.. $13.33

Alo Girl - Bangkok LP ( Urashima: UMA073)
‘'Balanced dynamic monotony with subtle nuances and layered sound production. Clear and detailed constructions in an oblique and dense environment halting to the breaking point of suffocation. Near static insistent walls and compositions where audio shreds, erupts, buries, tense, hammers and feedback. In-your-face abrasive tracks with voiding atmosphere. Focus on panning of left/mid/right channels. Heavy use of mid-to-low end frequencies. Spoken word material consists of honest conversations from Bangkok girls and their johns. No judgmental angle on individuals participating. Material is presented as an artist's objective report and possible obsession on phenomena. Alo Girl delivers to the full with “Bangkok”. A sad, vicious but compassionate window into a world that for most of us is alien and unfathomable. A seldom good HNW/harsh noise album that stands on its own premiss, and conveys its theme and musical content without any cliches. Highly recommended! Material can withstand several broadcasts.'' Notes from Tor Navjord (Where Frost Reign)
The record has been pressed on 140 gr black vinyl with black label and black inner sleeve and comes in a deluxe silver silkscreen on black cardboard sleeve, limited to 88 copies w/insert in luxury 160 gr ivory paper and colored photograph hand numbered. All package in a clear plastic sleeve to protect record, cover and inserts form dirt, shelf wear and damage.. $22.00

Am Not - Unpunished CD ( Unrest Productions: Unprcd09)
I don't want to say I told you so, but when Am Not's "First Morbid Vibrations" cassette rolled in here a few years back, I immediately recognized something pretty relevant had arrived. But, given that I just sold the last copy of it less than a month ago, not enough of you paid attention, and I'm sure that after hearing Unpunished, you'll wish you had. That being said, even I didn't expect this CD to be as good as it is, and truth be told, it's about as good as it gets; unyielding and spiteful UK power electronics propelled forth with sheer brute force over waves of distorted pulsations, jammed frequency bursts, grinding loops and extreme vocals. The sheer violence and viciousness on display here is nearly unparalleled and the end result is a nearly perfect record.. $13.33

Analfabetism - Self Titled CDr ( Self-released: Ana01)
Formerly known as Knös, Fredrik changed the name of the project to avoid confusion with another project (assuming with K.N.O., but I could I be wrong). He can call it whatever he wants as far as I'm concerned, as long as he delivers the same post-apocalyptic atmospheres and frigid Scandinavian industrial we've come to expect. 8 tracks here, navigating their way through ominously ambient passages en route to more aggressive terrain, populated by slabs of distortion, factory dirge, and looping rhythms. I really really like this and would have loved to have released it were it not for the schedule currently being so jam packed. Rest assured, Analfabetism will make their way to the Malignant roster eventually.. $11.33

Anarcocks - Desert Rose ( Old Europa Café: OECC199)
Following the disbandment of Black Sun Productionsin 2012, Massimo & Pierce release their first album as Anarcocks
. Exposing the fictional character of teenage Johnny as he joins the underground revolutionary army of the Wild Boys, Desert Rose is the first installation in a trilogy called europArabia....an aural investigating of the intertwine between west and east, north and south, militance and desire.
The original lyrics in Italian were written by Massimo Villani over a period of twenty years. Pierce created the two parts cinematic cut-up and fond-in soundscape drowning inspiration from Bedouin chants, Marrakech porn and the epic soundtracks of Middle Eastern vintage films.
Massimo & Pierce are and was also well known for being part of the COIL collective especially during their live shows.. $13.66

Antlers Mulm - Silbergrauer Staub CD ( Wrotycz: WRT021)
The first album ins special art paper package! From FUNPROX: "Not a recent release (October 2003), but one which I listened to quite often recently. The productions of Antlers Mulm and its label Sonderübertragung, both run by Hans Johm, sound and look just a little different. The limited releases, both on vinyl and cd, are always packaged in cardboard boxes, which are functional, yet stylish. The music of Antlers Mulm contains many nostalgic references to older electronic music, without becoming a pure retro act. The music on “Silbergrauer Staub” does not sound very complicated at first. Nevertheless there is a lot of tension in the music and often an otherworldly and melancholic feeling. Pioneers like Kraftwerk come to mind, as well as underground minimal electro from the early 80’s, but there are also clear connections to dark ambient / industrial circles. I have to think of Coil, Column One or Predominance. Despite experimentation, the melodic soundscapes are quite accessible, even meditative at times. Most tracks have an atmospheric electronic sound with clear keyboard melodies, subtle samples and sparse speech vocals, often slightly distorted. Percussion does not play a dominant factor, though there is some ritual, almost martial percussion here and there, like on ‘Gipfelsturm’. In general the music is not particularly dark, there are no deep basses or cliche rumbling machineries. Some tracks sound a bit more threatening though, like ‘c3′. Most of the 15 tracks move forward rather slowly, though a track like ‘Out of line’ has a pumping electronic beat." SONDERÜBERTRAGUNG. $12.33

Apoptose - Ana Liil CD ( Tesco: Tesco094)
Ana Liil doesn't want to be your friend – she lives in an entirely separate world. Maybe at night you see her shape behind a grimy window in the neighbourhood, or you hear her singing from afar. But you will never get closer to her. “I don't know who she is,” Apoptose says. “One day she just emerged. Like a thought that sounds logic in your dreams but completely strange in daylight.” Apoptose’s “ana liil” plays with your expectations. This album spins within close range of those dark ambient realms that Apoptose became known for since the early 2000s. Songs like “meer der ruhe” or “schnee” still bear this signature. But at the same time they show a new quality of songwriting. Both feature the frail singing of a girl who keeps the dusty shadows at bay . On “forget your face”, “adrenalin” or “ich verbrenne” Apoptose replaces the reverb charged tracks by songs full of voices and haunting melodies. But beware: all is not as it seems. The album will be available on CD, vinyl+CD and download. The CD is housed in a stylish spot varnished six-panel cardboard pack including a twelve-pages booklet and a separate CD-sleeve.. $15.50

Artefactum - Rosarium Hermeticum CD ( UR Muzik: UR008)
Proper release of CDr from 2006. Best that I can gather, Artefactum doesn't get the name recognition the project deserves, at least among dark ambient enthusiasts. Maybe it's the misleading color schemes on the covers, or the titles that suggest it might be more goth than ambient. Make no mistake though, this is thoroughly haunting material, reminiscent of Aghast in that it’s somewhat stark and minimalist, but eerie and genuinely atmospheric, albeit slightly more orchestral than that classic CMI project.. $11.66

Arv & Miljö - Kroppo LP ( Posh Isolation: Posh150)
Arv & Miljö is the solo project of Matthias Andersson who through the last 10+ years has been a key figure in Scandinavian underground music, first with his now defunct Release the Bats label and mail order, later with the multi faced collective, venue and label Utmarken, his zine Fördämning and his different musical projects, Källarbarnen, Heinz Hopf etc.
"Kropp" is Arv & Miljö's first LP, and to anyone familiar with the early harsh noise works, it is quite different."Kropp" is a self study into Matthias Andersson's condition when he was diagnosed with SDAVF and later his recovery. Facing a possible future in a wheelchair, a large part of "Kropp" is done entirely of field recordings from countless visits to the hospital.
Besides the beauty of the minimal tape and synth compositions, their airy nature, rich with space but never directionless. What is remarkable about "Kropp" is the complete lack of self pity in the work, it has an almost frightening cool. It is not the sound of someone dwelling in his own sickness, rather it is a precise and extremely direct study in lack of control.. $19.00

Awen - Grim King of the Ghosts ( Old Europa Café: OECD197)
The second album from Awen, five years in the making, stands as a sonic dedication to the ties that bind this world to the spectral.
The album is rooted in the concept of the Grim Grey King, which forms a binding tie throughout with interpretations and translations of the opening poem featured in Swedish, German and Italian - cropping up like standing stones along the path of the listener's progress. The 'King' of the album's namesake encompasses not only the sinister martial aspects of Woden, Gwyn ap Nudd and the endless Wild Hunt, but also the notion of a more abstract and cold custodian of the souls of melancholy lovers lost, their desperate palliations sought through suicide.
From dense percussion evocative of megalithic rites to the Arcadian chords of acoustic strings, the whole is tethered throughout by the howling tension of hungry ghosts and conducted by the commanding voice of Erin Powell. 'Grim King Of The Ghosts' is a synthesis of the ancient and the contemporary, with the heartfelt acoustic cover of "Seeker" by Fire + Ice and modern interpretations of traditional songs from the British Isles such as "Grim King Of The Ghosts", "Cradle Spell", and "Sons Of Exiles" shifting like glimpses through a stygian mist into the tonal terrors of "Grym Grå Kung", "Bitter Augur" and "Il Re Grigio Cupo". This world and That, Then and Now, are One.
Featuring guests b9 InVid (Et Nihil / Luftwaffe), Gaya Donadio (ANTIchildLEAGUE / Six Comm), and Freya Aswynn (by virtue of a recorded personal rune reading for Erin Powell).. $13.66

This is an outstanding example in sound research by two of the most important masterminds of the Italian electronic music scene.

Brethren - Alienated & Radicalized CS ( Freak Animal: FreakCS69)
Tape re-issue of 2012's Alienated & Radicalized. Brethren has firmly proven to be one of the genre's most striking forces. Gathering both fanatic glorification and hostile opposition with his honest and to-the-point political message, 2005's "Savage Inequalities" finally has a follow-up full-length. "Alienated and Radicalized" delivers guaranteed Brethren. A solid 40-minute album with song after song of memorable and striking assaults. Each track consists of carefully constructed noise loops, rhythms, throbbing synthesizers, spoken word samples and trademark hyper- aggressive vocals. Well-structured and song-like assaults make each individual song stand strong. No song is clouded with muddiness and instead, each is sharp and clear, with noisy, ripping power. Vocals spit the words with clear articulation and each sound element is heard in its full energy. Nothing in this album is particularly vulgar or offensive. The message, language and artwork doesn't attempt to offend the enemy with tasteless provocations, but simply manifests the conviction and life mission of Brethren.Chrome tapes, including 20 pages full color booklet with all lyrics.. $10.66

Brighter Death Now - Payback ( Not On Label: BDNNL01)
Professionally done, high quality bootleg live recording from Essen, Germany, 2009. Presented in a gatefold sleeve with glossy embossed printing. A statement from Roger Karmanik himself, not quite endorsing yet, and yet not a total condemnation either: "This bootleg was recently released by the organiser behind Maschinenfest, it's live from the 2009 festival. Yes there was some issues... and I was an asshole, as so many times during that time of my life. I don't blame him. I just got the cd yesterday and I suggest you to get it! Really nice artwork and the sound recording is excellent. On this occasion I had the privilege to have Bauke van d W and Lina B Doll on stage, and you can hear we did a really good job - well worth the money, both for the show and CD. however this doesnt suggest others to try bootlegging anything from BDN. Climax Denial - In the Absence of Self Control LP ( Urashima: UMA93)
For over a decade, Climax Denial has been exploring a unique and evolving approach to the power-electronics genre. Beginning with his debut tape on Hospital Productions, and following with dozens of other sought-after releases: peerless in their stalker/submissive debauchery. Alex Kmet with his Climax Denial project practically bathes in its own urgent sexuality, stalking through each album with glassy eyes and a raging boner, just like the protagonists of all of those classics you are tempted to put away when mom/girlfriend/straight-job friends come over. In an age where many of his peers are doing their part to look beyond perverse sexuality, or perhaps expressing it in more poetic terms, Climax Denial rings true like the last of the old-school perverts, a man as terrifying as he is abject. In The Absence Of Self-Control is Climax Denial's first full-length LP and features all new material. Teasing with elements of dark ambient restraint, coyly manic vocals, and anxious industrial texture; we are presented with an unnerving composition of lovingly lecherous soundscapes.
‘'I've never consciously set out to become a ‘Power Electronics Musician' or whatever, it's just like I was saying before, I always want there to be some kind of context behind the noise. Most power electronics deals with exploring the dark side of human nature objectively, or confessing your own darknesses. I write about what I know. I just have to be honest. These things are what I'm into doing and this is what keeps me up at night and this is what turns me on. Mostly what turns me on! It was never a conscious attempt to change the genre. I've just done whatever I wanted to from the beginning, trying to avoid falling completely into any one category. It's sexual and emotional submission with fits of violence. It's the declaration of my self to fully experience the essence of the female sex. It's the severe depression and it's knowing I'm better and stronger than most other people for being able to see things the way I see them.'' Alex Kmet interviewed by Chis Sienko on As Loud As Possible magazine.

Cody Drasser - Lugubrium Encumbrium CS ( Peacock Window Recordings: PCWC01)
Cody Drasser's second solo album, 'Lugubrium Encumbrium' will soon be available once again in both cassette/digital formats. Some of you may recall that this cassette was available late last year through the efforts of the Gilded Peradam label. Peacock Window Recordings is now reissuing the album with all new artwork and a new mastering job along with 4 new songs. Some songs which appeared on the first version of the cassette have been renamed for greater cohesion of the album's themes of ghosts, the paranormal, graveyards, tortured spirits and what might await us beyond the earthly realm. A much vastly different creature than Cody's first solo outing, 'The Fate of Things,' this album takes a minimal approach to emphasize the eerie, shadowy and spectral nature of the sounds. Being comprised of material recorded onto abandoned cassette over 10 years ago, Cody unearthed the cassettes from their hiding place and found that many of the tapes were suffering from varying degrees of deterioration. Not seeing this as an obstacle, Cody delved deeply into the music as it was, using the deterioration as a natural part of the album's feel. 'Lugubrium Encumbrium' has an aura of unearthly mystery that at times feels creepy and ominous, and at other times feels peaceful and comforting.. $6.50

Con-Dom - Shards of Ordnance 2CD/Book ( Freak Animal: IR-CDSOR01)
Many many years ago Freak Animal and Con-Dom started to plan re-issue of some Con-Dom old materials. This dates possibly somewhere around 2004?Years passed and meanwhile sub-label Industrial Recollections was formed and many titles of obscure power electronics/noise/industrial appeared.Among them was issued Con-Dom "Subjection" CD and "Live action 1/4" CD/LP.
Finally, after time consuming and energy draining project, Industrial Recollections is proud to announce "Shards Of Ordnance"! Orders are taken now and shipping starts beginning of January!
"Shards Of Ordnance" is collection of all relevant Con-Dom compilation tracks. This means, you won't be hearing live tracks of the same classics what appear on Con-Dom album, what were on many old compilation tapes, but this collection is no less than 140+ minutes of exclusive studio songs recorded between 1991-2008. All top quality material, taken from original analogue master tapes, DAT masters, etc. No compression. No editing. All sound is kept as it was to keep the spirit and dynamic tension of material as faithful to original as possible! Included are many rare compilation songs what seem to be impossible to find. Sometimes not even listed in online databases. Not to mention also couple unreleased songs from cancelled compilations what finally see the light of day.
Artist has carefully prepared order of the songs, follow themes and approach rather than chronological order. Result proves to be more than just collection. It flows like true album. And even with extreme length of two fully loaded discs, it's great listening experience. It reveals Con-Dom in its full potential, with amazing diversity, strength and unmistaken personality!
Unlike previous Industrial Recollections releases, packaging is slightly unusual. Properly binded, offset printed hardcover book, what includes artwork, lyrics, unseen handwritten sketches of lyrics, full track list with details of original sources, photos, etc.. $23.77

And when I say extreme, I don't necessarily mean musically - this is very much in the Ex.Order vein of things - more atmospheric than noise, with volatile and agitating analogue pulsations and probing frequency drones accompanied by provocative, processed vocals and samples. Ideologically speaking, this is pretty far right and will certainly offend anyone previously offended by Brethren, Deathkey and the like. Coph Nia - A Prelude to Lashtal Lace LP ( Raubbau: Raub26)
Before appearing on Raubbau with a long-awaited full length album, Coph Nia mastermind Mikael Aldén serves us a scrumptious appetizer on a 12'' plate: one outtake, a radical remix and two b-sides are a classic satiable ep size serving for the vinyl gourmet. First up is the album's title track, a homage to Coph Nia's ongoing fascination with Crowleyan matters, an enchanting dark folk hymn in which the female backing vocals swell on slowly, before, after a moody break, the song plunges into full-on Hazlewood / Sinatra-style psychedelia. 'Mother of Songs' is a lesser known original, here as a slowly grinding goth tune with angelic choirs, while Joy Division's 'In a Lonely Place' is an undisputed classic, stripped to an even bleaker carcass of despair in the unique Coph Nia style. Finally, Michael Idehall's version of 'Lashtal Lace' replaces everything female, acoustic and romantic about the song with haunting atmosphere and industrial darkness. Appease your appetite quickly, the serving is scarce!. $18.00

Coph Nia - Lashtal Lace CD ( Raubbau: Raub27)
A good seven years after his last regular album for Cold Meat Industry, Mikael Aldén aka Aldenon aka Coph Nia finds a new home at Raubbau, and releases his most vocal-heavy, song-based album to date. Ten songs (not tracks!) dominated by his sonorous voice revealing more facets than ever before, with the music ranging from acoustic instruments and electric guitar over ambient soundscapes to sparingly used industrial noises, all amalgamate to an exciting whole of occult – and adult – pop.
‘Lashtal Lace‘ sports elements deriving from Coph Nia’s past releases: ritual drones, dismal noises, recitatives, Crowleyan references, kettle drums – but rather as ephemera, as an underworld to something different: a versatile, thought-provoking collection of lyrically intriguing songs. from the vaudeville charme of ‘I Shall Be No More’ and ‘A Sonnet’ to the title track which is bound to become a dark folk hit, from the (classically Coph Nia) tongue-in-cheek cover version of Pete Shelley‘s coming out as a ‘Homo Sapien’ to the misanthropy of ‘All My Filth’ and ‘Glass house’, from the guitar-fuelled dirge of ‘Little Death’ and ‘Alone and Godless’ and the widescreen cinematic atmosphere of ‘In Colour’ and the only instrumental ‘The Dreamer’, the emotional range is vast.. $13.99

A refinement, a sharpening and a surpassing: Detritus takes his art in yet another direction with "The Very Idea". The sixth studio album by this musician is the one in which he strips down his music to its cores and present it in both its rawest and most touching aspects - fibers of cinematic and futuristic electronics mixed with emotive piano melodies, occasional riffs, broken beats and varied percussion. Deutsch Nepal - Pzykadelischer Todeswunsch Auf Dem Machinenfest 2k9 - Live in Essen CS ( Raubbau: Raub032)
Raubbau and Pflichtkauf continue their cooperative effort to make available live recordings from the Maschinenfest archives. And while there’s little use in an unaltered live presentation of studio material, there’s an important point in viewing into artists who treat their art into something very different on stage. And of that kind, Deutsch Nepal is surely a prime example: on stage the musician Peter Andersson disappears and makes room for Lina Baby Doll, the intransigent libertine, the vaudeville villain of post-industrial music.
Defying boundaries of taste, defying genres and trends, a Deutsch Nepal performance is always a private revelation. This recording from 2009 consists mainly of tracks from 'A Silent Siege' and 'Erotikon' (the two studio albums Deutsch Nepal released in the 2000s) plus some live exclusives. There are all the aspects of the Deutsch Nepal sound to be discovered during these 47 minutes: the ritual drones of 'The Torturesofa / Saeta', the psychedelic blur of 'Stella Krutjief / Drogentodt', the martial drumming of 'Blackhouse', the oppressive noises of 'I Just Fokos an Maiself' (sic!) or 'Karkucak', the dark, anthemic beauty of 'Heartbomb', the distorted aggression of 'Silent Siege', and the psychic striptease of 'Thiudinassus / Deutsch Nepal'. the sound is raw and gritty, perfectly communicating the atmosphere of the performer / audience interaction, an extremely organic-sounding compound of electronic sounds and samples; and above all, there’s the subsoil croon of Lina’s voice, turning tracks into songs, experiment into heartfelt passion. Timeless entertainment, for those inclined…. $13.00

Distel - Puur CD ( Ant-Zen: Act318)
Distel is a dutch electronic project comprised of two members: Ater (synthesizers / vocals) and Scramasax (percussion). They started to release their special blend of sounds on compilations in 2009. Four years later their debut album 'puur' was published on the Enfant Terrible label in two versions: a regular vinyl lp and a special edition with a bonus 7 inch. Ant-Zen is proud to present this album on CD format including the full LP as well as the bonus tracks. Distel's sound requires it’s very own definition: some might call this witch house while others would go for death disco or ritual elektro - the project's own description is 'ultra / angst pop'. No matter which label might fit, Distel's music is purely electronic with an industrial and minimal background which expresses a magical and maybe even occult mood. 'Puur' is a petrifying album suffused with experimental electronics, acherontic industrial soundscapes and profound eerie vocals backed by reluctant beats - a very unique combination of styles which denies to comply with established genre clichés. references are not easy to give, but connoisseurs of Gazelle Twin, November Növelet, early Klinik and even Autechre will enjoy diving into Distel's aural self-conception. This album is beautiful, complex and grotesque on all levels.. $13.33

Emit - Spectre Music of an Antiquary CD ( Crucial Blast: CBR109)
The latest album of murky graveyard ambience, deranged synth, phantasmic dread and ritualistic black drift from this cult UK outfit, their first in nearly ten years. Surrealistic, spectral music and nocturnal delirium transmitted from beyond the veil and steeped in the mysteries of old Britain, like some twisted, eldritch fusion of Fabio Frizzi, In Umbra Malitiae Ambulabo-era Abruptum, and 80’s darkwave.
First released as an extremely limited cassette on Glorious North, Spectre Music Of An Antiquary is the first new material from Emit in over five years, a full length collection of murky ambience, deranged 80's style synth, ritualistic black drift, and stranger sounds forays into black noise. This British outfit has been creating their unique brand of experimental blackened delirium since the late 90s, branching out of a low-fi UK black metal band called Ante Cryst. With Emit, the members began to explore a creepy, synth-heavy sound that was unmistakably descended from black metal but supremely more deformed, combining harsh electronic noise, horror-movie soundtrack atmospherics, droning keyboards, wrecked and fractured black metal guitars, and bizarre vocals that would often push Emit's music into a strange realm of hallucinatory, ghastly psychedelia. On their latest tape Spectre, though, Emit's sound has morphed into something that more resembles some mutated, primitive 80's darkwave being completely taken over by malevolent spirits, with eerie electronic drones and distant moaning vocals often taking over; very different from what I've heard from Emit in the past, though no less weird or phantasmagoric. And as with other Emit offerings, this is concerned more with the occult lore and hidden history of the British isles than Satanism or goat worship or any of the other over-used black metal tropes, which all serves to enhance the wraithlike vibe of these songs.. $10.00

En Nihil/Gnawed - Fall of Humanity CS ( Nilbymouth: NBM31)
En Nihil and Gnawed join forces in a 150 copies limited edition for the italian label NBM. The result is a powerful combination of classic harsh noise and destructive power electronics. Envenomist - Chariots LP ( Segerhuva: Seger20)
Re-stock! These strangely cinematic and abrasive droning landscapes of impending doom made up from analog synths are the work of David Reed, for some perhaps known from the plausible Luasa Raelon project. The sparse, cold, minimal pieces reminds us of early industrial-era electronic artists such as Maurizio Bianchi and Lustmord, but also gives hints to the works of Klaus Schulze and early Tangerine Dream. Without doubt presenting a vile and nightmarish vision of a territory where noone can be trusted and there's nowhere to hide – this certainly is bleak post-apocalyptic music. Very well produced and composed martial/neofolk bands from this ex-member of Svalbard, here supported by other great Eastern European Neofolk musicians, Moon Far Away, Majdanek Waltz, Pragnavit, Sevast, A.Y.F. and others…
Bose Zeit is their most bombastic and intense album to date...layered, emotive, and richly detailed music I'd hesitate to classify as neo-folk, because that's a real simplification of what they're doing. This has an underlying orchestral and cinematic feel, but it's perfectly blended with Eastern European instrumentation and dark yet beautiful melodies. Excellent.. $12.66

Gjöll - Temporary Symbiosis: Gjöll at Maschinenfest 2009 CS ( Raubbau: Raub031)
Crystal clear and of stunning quality, the recordings of Gjöll's minimalistic arrangements are nowhere short of intense. Straight from the start, we sense the full meaning of a temporary symbiosis: of dark and light, of cold and warm, of artist and audience.
Organic drum sounds carry the heavy drones and are enriched with guitar chords, distorted or echoing over the vocals with endless depth generated by delays. We float through beauty of northern simplicity, a beauty one can only experience when there is nothing left to lose: after one has abandoned all hope. Gnawed - Feign and Cloak ( Malignant: TumorCD79)
Active since 2009, Minneapolis based Grant Richardson has solidified a reputation for creating a strain of death industrial and power electronics that’s particularly ferocious, visceral, and just insanely heavy. Alongside Nyodene D, The Vomit Arsonist, and Steel Hook Prostheses, Gnawed represents an act at the forefront of a genre, whose music is built on a European foundation, but is sculpted and heightened with American aggression and intensity. Despite numerous cassettes, splits, and compilation appearances, Feign and Cloak is just Gnawed’s second full length CD following 2012’s masterful Terminal Epoch (Phage Tapes), and sees Richardson continuing down a similar path, only having tightened the reigns, sharpened his focus, and honed his skills. Few artists are as adept or as capable at building tension and atmosphere as Gnawed, then releasing it in an onslaught of deep barreled percussion, pneumatic reverberations, scrap metal debris, and turbine fueled drones, the processed vocals resonating and slicing through the mix with force and rigor, the end result a perfect marriage of controlled chaos and structured composition. A modern masterpiece of true industrial music. In 6 panel digipak with matte finish. Artwork by Brian Vander Pol.. $10.66

Gnaw Their Tongues - Collected Atrocities 2005-2008 2CD ( Crucial Blast: CBR110)
For nearly a decade, Dutch avant-black/doom entity, GNAW THEIR TONGUES -- named after a particularly evocative passage from the Book Of Revelation -- has been infecting the underground with a uniquely disturbing brand of chaotic heaviness. Fusing together malevolent, rumbling doom with rabid, noise-damaged aggression and blasts of fearsome orchestral power and industrial pandemonium, and draping these lurching, hellish dirges in an oppressive atmosphere thick with horror and despair, the intensely nightmarish music of GNAW THEIR TONGUES defies easy categorization. The sum of all GTT’s construction and execution is the work of sole architect and madman, Mories, also known for other destructive output with Cloak of Altering, Pyriphlegethon, De Magia Veterum, Aderlating, Mors Sonat, Pompidou, Dimlit Hate Cellar and others.
Before the release of the band's Crucial Blast debut, An Epiphanic Vomiting Of Blood, in 2007, GNAW THEIR TONGUES crawled into the black metal/industrial underground via a number of ultra-limited EPs which quickly went out of print, and are now sought after by fans of the band's abject blackened horror. Collected Atrocities 2005-2008 is a new double CD anthology that gathers together essential, out-of-print early recordings from the band that span the first three years of GNAW THEIR TONGUES's existence, compiling the Preferring Human Skin Over Animal Fur, Horse Drawn Hearse and For All Slaves... A Song Of False Hope EPs, the material from the Static Hymnal compilation, and other rarities from the bowels of the GTT archive.. $12.00

Halo Manash - Se Its En ( Aural Hypnox: AHB08)
Se Its En is the first official release of Halo Manash and was originally released in an edition of 100 copies by Finnish underground record label Blue Sector in 2003. After a long period of unavailability the album is now re-released through the Stellar Mansion series.
The quintessential tunes for the tracks were received from in seven specific dreams and captured on tape during the following morning under the guidance of awakened subconscious forces. The album as a whole, however, should not be considered only as a self-centered work or a mere outcome of lucid dreaming sessions of the personnel involved; Se Its En serves as a continually living and assisting metaphysical implement that guides and enlightens travel in The Great Elemental Current. The seven surrealistic tracks were composed by using manipulated bowed string instruments, percussions, analogue synthesizer, human and inhuman vocalisations & other surreal recordings. Se Its En is the key to the gate leading to Sacral Meeting with Halo Manash.
The album is enclosed in a customised and silk-screen printed Stellar Mansion cardboard covers including an 8-panel black on black printed booklet and a silk-screen printed insert card. The regular edition is limited to 468 copies.. $13.99

Husere Grav is a Texas based act known mostly around these parts for releases on Crucial Blast, Small Doses, and Peripheral. Despite a fairly extensive discography dating back to 2009, I'm pretty sure this is my first encounter with FRKSE, and it's a nice surprise; strong, clanging metallics and pneumatic percussive blasts, factory whir, and throbbing loops amid a field of debris. Reminds me a bit of fellow Bostonion Xiphoid Dementia.

Hybryds - Ritual Should Be Kept Alive CD ( Zoharum: Zohar089-2)
Zoharum continues reissuing past works of one of the most interesting projects coming from the 1980s underground - Hybryds. This album is the fourth instalment in the reissue series of Hybryds classic releases. It is an expanded reissue of ”The Ritual Should Be Kept Alive (1)” EP released back in 1991. That release featured only the first part of the title composition. The Zoharum edition was extended to a 70-minute full album with the other two parts of ”The Ritual Should Be Kept Alive” included plus one more bonus song.
Contrary to the previous releases (”Mythical Music from the 21st Century” and ”Music for Rituals” - both reissued on Zoharum – with lots of short pieces), ”The Ritual Should Be Kept Alive” contains slowly-evolving, long pieces which will hypnotise the listener with their sonic magic. Four songs on this album come from the same period, so it sounds very cohesive. And because three of them were not published before, ”The Ritual Should Be Kept Alive” v.2014 might be treated as a new album.
The album has been digitally remastered from the original stereo cassette master by none else but Sandy Nys, who also provided the cover based on the previous editions. This is the ritual music at its best. Now you can enjoy it in the best digital quality. The CD is housed in a digipak sleeve and the album is strictly limited to 500 copies.. $12.00

The album was originally released by Blue Sector in 2003 and presents material created exclusively for a live performance, taking place at KMY's 5th year anniversary on 27th of September in Turku, Finland.
The album was recorded live in studio while rehearsing for the performance, and presents a natural combination of surreal synthetic noises and drones, analogue synthesizers, hypnotically looping samples and heavily manipulated field recordings spiced up with various horns made of animal bones, bowed instruments and occasional human whispers and words. This is a monolithic, hypnotic and all-encompassing work in a field of abstract and experimental Finnish dark ambience; transformative aural alchemy that will spiral deep within.
The album is enclosed inside a newly designed and silk-screen printed cardboard covers including three offset printed insert cards and a four panel booklet. Limited to 500 copies.. $14.50

I.corax - Kuilu ( Aural Hypnox: AHSM06)
Kuilu’ by I.corax, originally limited to only 40 copies is the last album released by Blue Sector in 2004. The album is finally available through our Stellar Mansion series. ‘Kuilu’ is a live recording of I.corax's first live performance held in NuKu, Oulu, Finland on 2nd of March 2002.
These four slowly evolving compositions bring forth a mesmerizing and ethereal atmosphere; swirling analogue synthesizer, subliminal electronic-triggers, monotone yet dynamic rhythmic elements are accompanied with haunting un-organic textures, human words and field-recordings captured on tape in the woods under a crescent moon.
All in all the material on this album is simpler and more straight forward than on the other I.corax releases. It presents a stimulating historical overview of the duos past practices; numinous passings through the chasms into and beyond the abyss.
The album is enclosed inside a newly designed and silk-screen printed cardboard covers including three offset printed insert cards and a four panel booklet. Limited to 500 copies.. $14.50

The second official release of the Oulu based experimental music and sound art duo I.corax, originally released in 2003.
‘The Cadaver Pulse II’, running over 60 minutes is an ethereal, bright and dreamlike sequel to the oozy ‘TCP I’. The six helical compositions bring forth a unique analogue and organic atmosphere. Most of the material on this album was received, composed and recorded during intense three-day live sessions held in the Blue Vortex in March 2003 by using analogue synthesizers, samplers, human voice and a selection of wind and bowed instruments. The material was mixed and finalized in September 2003.
The album is enclosed inside a newly designed and silk-screen printed cardboard covers including six offset printed insert cards and a four panel booklet. Limited to 500 copies.. $14.50

I.corax - The Cadaver Pulse I: Sealed in a Radiant Larval Maelstrom ( Aural Hypnox: AHSM02)
The long-awaited re-issue of the first official release of I.corax, a duo formed by AIH and JKV in the late 1998. The album was originally released in an edition of 80 copies through the groups own label, Blue Sector in 2003.
‘The Cadaver Pulse I’ consists of over 70 minutes of very original ambient music that is continuously evolving and challenging. The six states of the album weave a potent radiant web that encapsulates the original, subliminal oneiric visions. The sonic tapestries have been produced mainly from heavily processed natural sound sources such as animals, various field recordings, human voice, wind and bowed instruments that culminate in a work that is archaic and dark, multilayered and harsh. All material was received, composed and mixed during long and intensive recording sessions held in the Blue Vortex, duo’s studio-temple at the time, between December 2002 and February 2003.
The album is enclosed inside a newly designed and silk-screen printed cardboard covers including six offset printed insert cards and a four panel booklet. Limited to 500 copies.. $14.50

Intolitarian - Deathangle Absolution CD ( Deathangle Absolution Records: DARINTCD1)
First full length from Intolitarian since 2012's Berserker Savagery CD. An absolute blitzkrieg of chaos fueled hatred and intolerance, this tears through 9 "transmissions" with unparalleled viciousness, the blast beats and "noisecore" madness broken up only by passages of flanged, spoken declarations. This is an obliteration of all music as you know it...no melody, no structure, and no relenting, just pure auditory violence. NOT for the sensitive, please know what you're getting into before purchasing.. $11.66

Intolitarian - Omnicidal Murderer 7inch EP ( Deathangle Absolution Records: DARINT01)
Limited Edition of undisclosed amount of copies. The first official INTOLITARIAN recording that was ever available and was the release to lay the groundwork for all that was to follow. Originally scheduled to be released Fall, 2011 by AUDIAL DECIMATION RECORDS on 7" Ep. Due to various circumstances, the 7" Ep never materialized and so, in its place were 10 handmade and personalized copies given only to close contacts. Following those copies, roughly 20 more were made and sent as promos to various contacts. Shortly thereafter, the "Berserker Savagery" Lp which was recorded the same summer as the Ep became the priority and the "Omnicidal..." Ep fell to the wayside, never being released past the promotional stage. In the over 3 years since it was sparsely spread, it has become a very sought after recording for those of the HATE LEGION who seek the works of ANTICHRIST KRAMER, of which this was the most rare of all. Finally now realized as it was originally intended to be.
Comes without plastic sleeve covering.. $9.33

IRM - Closure ( Malignant: TumorCD82)
This album marks the end of a trilogy that started with the ”Indications of Nigredo” 12” (2008) on Segerhuva and continued with the ”Order4” CD (2010) on Cold Meat Industry. Four years on, IRM now release the grand finale on Malignant Records. While the last album flowed between opposites and extremes, this new opus marks a kind of a return to more familiar ground, where traditional song structure and melody occasionally appear and are more suited to the shorter track timing. That’s not to say that this is an easy listen – this can be an electrifying and highly charged listen, that feels visceral and almost physical in nature, and there’s plenty of nightmarish circumstance to wade through. But the omnipresent narrative feel ultimately gives these recordings a nuanced and soothing edge. People familiar with subjects associated with IRM, such as flamboyance, exclusion and theatrical immersion will also find a home here this time around. Harder to grasp is what kind of existentialist limbo the perpetrator here resides in. Redemption - not likely. The album also features the stellar performances of English cellist Jo Quail and Swedish percussionist Ulrik Nilsson. Includes 20 page booklet."
‘Closure’ is a striking achievement on the part of the group." Noise Receptor.

Jarl/Envenomist - Tunguska Event CD ( Zoharum: Zohar083-2)
Erik Jarl has teamed up with David Reed (aka Envenomist) to create a sonic reenactment of the Tunguska event, a large explosion that occurred near the Podkamennaya Tunguska River in what is now Krasnoyarsk Krai, Russia, at about 07:14 on June 30, 1908” [Wikipedia]. It flattened 2,000 km2 of the forest and it caused glowing sunsets on the horizon. There are many theories concerning the cause of this particular event. Some scientists claim it was connected with an asteroid or comet that burst in the air above the region, others claim that it might have been a small black hole passing near the Earth. The mystery is still unsolved.
The music, presented here in five parts, is full of oily drones and industrial blasts intertwined with unsettling ambient textures. The sound on this recording is of complex and mature nature, which hardly comes as a surprise when thinking about years both musicians spent mastering their skills (David with Envenomist and Luasa Raelon; Erik both in IRM and Skin Area, and solo known simply as Jarl). It is an interesting piece of work for those who search for something on the fringes of electronic music.. $12.00

Jason Crumer - Ottoman Black LP ( Urashima: UMA092)
Ottoman Black is a masterful damn record, a definitive statement that makes most other noise records of this ilk seem immature, if not outright stillborn. From cover' s photography , presenting mundane situation with an air of isolated, hysterical desperation, to the track titles, presented in the style of an academic outline (I.,II.,a.,b.,etc.) this is a formally conceived and meticulously crafted 35 minutes, leaving nothing untitled or untidy. Ottoman Black is the very highest percentile of achievement, the top one percent of noise albums that come out in 2008. It is not something to nod off to, or put on while washing dishes, but a 35- minute symphony of dread, distress, and yes, betrayal. At the same time, the sheer depth of technological achievement (great sound/mastering/technical know/how) make it an engaging listen, and will assuredly continue to give up new information with multiple listens. As Urashima reissues go, this is on the new side of old, but its inclusion still makes sense alongside MB and Atrax Morgue and others. If Maurizio Bianchi's atrophied synth and Marco Corbelli's sickly moans diagrammed the depths of their despair and depression, Crumer processes his frustration and failure visually, recreating humiliation and defeat through lucid waking nightmares, recreations of the worst day of his life through sound and text. Ottoman Black still sounds as blazing and new as it did when it was released. It is not a museum artifact or dated in its style, even if it feels like it was created in a different time. Highest recommendation. Chris Sienko - The associate editor of As Loud As Possible magazine.
Lp has been pressed on 140 gr black vinyl with black label and black inner sleeve and comes in a deluxe silver silkscreen on black cardboard sleeve, limited to 199 copies w/insert in luxury 160 gr ivory paper with exclusive notes by Chris Sienko, Raymond Cummings, Tom Grimley and Ryan Jencks. Khost - Copper Lock Hell CD ( Cold Spring: CSR202CD)
With their debut “Copper Lock Hell”, Birmingham-based duo Khost provide an intense wall of sound. Drop-tuned, monolithic structures of super-heavy chords, interspersed with chilling, pagan soundscapes made for worship at the altar of extreme sludge-industrial-doom. Found sounds, glitches, esoteric / gnostic ideas form the backbone of this hefty release. The whole experience is tense and unsettling, and is a solid primer for their live shows. Beauty and death, light and darkness, invocations and spirits are the foundations on which she creates her evocative imagery.
The book comes with an exclusive audio CD by Russian esoterist LAMIA VOX. 3 unique ritualistic pieces were channeled to accompany Krist Mort's visions, adding a deeply mystical aural dimension to the visual work.

K.S.K.N.P. - Death Instruktions LP ( Malignant: TumorLP81)
As singular entities, Steel Hook Prostheses, Shock Frontier, Peter Nystrom (Megaptera/Negru Voda/KNO/Obscene Noise Korporation), and Stephen Petrus (Murderous Vision) have created some of the darkest and most hellish soundscapes of the last 15 years, so one can only imagine what happens when they collaborate as a collective, but that’s exactly what we have with “Death Instruktions”. ..a kind of “death industrial super group” that brings together the best aspects of all parties involved, dragging the listener into a nightmarish realm where the atmosphere is seething with depravity, the air rancid and stale, and the sounds of bloodletting and torture are on full display. Make no mistake, despite the number of hands in the mix, this is focused and incisive, where thick layers of morbidly squirming frequencies, malevolent vocals, sadistic ambience, and pounding, machine rhythms create a visceral and vile listening environment that takes what each act has done individually to a whole new dimension. Titles such as “Scorched Skeletal Remains”, “Conditions For Suffocation”, and “To Desecrate Angelic Flesh” reveal the depths of horror that exist within. Single handedly one of the most disturbing releases to grace the Malignant roster-as if you expected anything less. Lmtd to 250 copies with insert. Artwork by renowned artist, Brian VDP.
"...an intense and very dark vortex, nourished from nightmares and darkest visions". 9.3/10 Necroweb. $16.66

La Pietra - Lunare CD ( Lichterklang: LK027)
La Pietra Lunare's debut album is a concept album dedicated to the mysteries of Italy. It tells how, in the years between the two wars, in some small villages of the south it was believed that magic rites and amulets could have some form of will on daily life. Taking inspiration from some cult Italian books, such as Tommaso Landolfi's homonymous novel, these song show how neofolk music has an esoteric origin through their real popular beliefs. Recorded over five years, the album includes guests from the Italian neofolk scene, such as Egida Aurea, ZSP, Lupi Gladius and Antiqua Lunae. Their genre could be a strange kind of neofolk called "verist post-folk". Ltd x 260 copies in a digipak.. $11.33

Leila Abdul-Rauf - Cold and Cloud LP ( Saadi Saati: SS01)
Cold and Cloud is the self-produced solo debut of Leila Abdul-Rauf. A temporary escape from the worlds of her current and former projects (Vastum, Hammers of Misfortune, Saros, Amber Asylum, and more recently, Ionophore), Abdul-Rauf enters a world all of her own weaving brass and piano passages into filmic soundscapes inspired by the cold, dreary summers of San Francisco. Cold and Cloud tells an introspective story of loss from the haunting lyrical sections of tracks like "Tears in White Fluids" and "Questions", to the solemn drones of "Will I Be Sane?" and the funereal finality of "Separation".

Leila Abdul-Rauf - Insomnia CD ( Malignant Antibody: Treatment05)
As a solo composer, San Francisco based, multi-instrumentalist Leila Abdul-Rauf stylistically diverges from her current and previous work in much heavier projects (Vastum, Ionophore, Hammers of Misfortune, Amber Asylum, Bastard Noise), and finds a home on Malignant side label, Antibody. Insomnia represents her first CD release following an LP on Saadi Saati in 2013, and a collaborative 7" with Tor Lundvall on Dais Records in 2014. Insomnia brings the spirit of these earlier releases to a new level of dynamic richness, with additional instrumentation and several guest contributions. Brass, piano and various other textures are delicately woven into filmic soundscapes that echo the sounds of memories faded through time. Solemn vignettes seem to emanate from an early morning dream state, the late autumnal tones and noir-ish melodies drifting through fog, evoking feelings of quiet isolation and solitude. Recalling haunting and desolate places, a private world is exposed, where time and space are distilled down to what remain of distant pasts and hidden emotions, melded into a symphony of ethereal melancholy. In 6 panel digipak with striking and complementary artwork by renowned artist Mark Thompson, Insomnia represents some of the most beautifully emotive and introspective work ever to grace the Malignant roster. For fans of: Tor Lundvall, Caul, Lisa Gerrard, Dead Can Dance.. $10.66

Also reflections on life itself, the meaning, the burdens, the change and all what comes with living. While the music on “Broken” had frustration, this album has more of a feeling, or sense of being left all alone in a dark and misunderstood world. The vocals (on about half the songs) try to express this further but the music always speaks for itself. Machinefabriek - Stillness Soundtracks ( Glacial Movements: GM022)
"When Esther Kokmeijer approached me with the idea of making the scores for a series of short films she was working on, I didn't hesitate. Having seen a lot of her photography, I immediately knew how inspiring the footage she shot in Antarctica and Greenland would be. And this expectation proved to be correct. In quite a short period (we had set a deadline, to show the result at an open studio date) we swapped sketches and edits of the videos and audio, until the combinations felt perfect. The 'Stillness' films aren't documentaries in the sense that they tell a clear story. We're seeing the Arctic through Esther's eyes, slowly passing giant icebergs and simply being amazed be the impressive and seemingly endless landscape. While in other films it's mostly the other way around, in 'Stillness' the narrative, if there is any, comes from the music. When making these soundtracks, the idea was to guide the viewer through the images with a sense of abstract story telling. Instead of the original first thought of making dark, cold soundscapes, the bleak mountains of ice are now colored by lush arrangements and even quite romantic themes. Esther and I released the videos on a usb-stick, in a limited edition of 100, that was sold out in no time. Now the scores are presented on 'Stillness Soundtracks', including two exclusive tracks. It was originally commissioned by the Royal Opera House and premiered there in May 2014. The spectacular performance involves a lot of hi-tech interactivity between dancers and projected visuals. The theme of man vs/with machine is magnified by the music, which combines warm melodic pads with glitchy white noise and propulsive rhythms. A striking musical output, with or without the visuals. Maurizio Bianchi began to produce music in 1979, since 1980 using electronic equipment with the avowed goal "to produce technological sounds and in such a way to work on complete realising of the modern decadence". In the beginning, he published tapes under the alias Sacher-Pelz. Atomique Tape follow Industrial Tape and was recorded in June 1980 under the name MB. Atomique Tape is composed of two long and precious pieces, with dirty and virulent sounds. It seems to walk the sidewalk wrong, to walk on thorns without the rose petals. The petals were eaten by the dancers and irascible elves. Music is hardened by a hidden evil and melancholy, where everything does not want to stand in his place. No changes of pitch were made in the mastering process. In the beginning, he published tapes under the alias Sacher-Pelz. Industrial Tape was one of the first release under the name MB, recorded in May 1980.Maurizio Bianchi elaborates his abstract and exhausting art with care and great detail. Industrial Tape is a concrete example of decadent experimentation. Not remain quiet while listening to these tracks, it seems that something indescribable to happen. Melancholics - Solar Cafe CD ( Eibon: Mel092)
By combining found noises and field-recorded nature with minimal/fragile post-rock-guitars, drones and fuzzy low-end bass-lines, Melanchoholics create mad extensive soundscapes and almost cinematic soundtracks to psychotic euphoria and intoxicated wastelands. After releasing on Drone Records, MNDR and Deafborn, Eibon Records proudly presents their final low-end manifesto for low-end connoisseurs. On Solar Café, Melanchoholics once again have set their attention directly to the lurid sides of human personalities: desperate internal fears and simplistic structures and melodies fleshed out well with subtle textures and voices. The feeling is one of lamentation and dreariness as the sounds trudge along. Yet there is a warmth and smokiness to it as well. Mollusk King/Mold Crevice - Anatomy Lessened CS ( Drifter Din Recordings: DDR-XX)
With just one track from each band, and both coming in at under the 5 minute mark, it's a case of quality over quantity, but what's here is worth every penny. Mollusk King is the latest project from Tommuel Reynolds, whom some of you may know from his prior (?) project Content Nullity, and if the piece on Anatomy Lessened is any indication, good things are ahead; 4:45 minutes of taught, tension filled rhythmic power electronics with pummeling, pneumatic percussion, up front and deranged vocals, and modulating frequencies that by the end, just sound completely ill and unstable. Mold Crevice from Seattle does an admirable job keeping pace, delivering a vile little track of snarling, agitated synth noises with rhythms that alternate between a steady syncopated thump and heavier, assembly line clangs. Vocals and samples come into play as well, and the whole thing is just complete. Intense. Excellent across the board.. $6.66

Muskets, The - Allegiance To No Crown 10 inch ( Old Europa Café: OEMP16)
Four founders of American Neofolk music: "b9 InViD, THOMAS NÖLA, ERIN POWELL and DAVID E. WILLIAMS" celebrate the founding of the American nation itself with contemporary versions of battle songs from the period. While untraditional recordings and even performances of these songs are very rare, The Muskets march them into the twenty first century with acoustic psychedelia, noisy martial pop, and choral dark ambience. There is a hymnlike quality to these tunes, whether they express the dread of a loved one "gone for a soldier" or the joy of a last debauch before certain death. Weaving between the tracks like a doddering demented lion, a sour King George III condemns, laments and eventually accepts the triumph of liberty, to the accompaniment of disembodied trumpet and distant drums. This 10" EP features an unprecedented "supergroup" collaboration of 4 American artists of critical and popular note. Oh yes... and one sneaky Brit. A musician, writer, actor and filmmaker; b9 InViD performed as one half of Luftwaffe from 1997 to 2013 and now makes music as ET NIHIL. Thomas Nola is also an actor and filmmaker, most notably for THE DOCTOR (featuring Death in June's Douglas P as narrator), TO THE WOLVES and BLOOD JUNGLE. He has released numerous albums as Thomas Nöla et son Orchestre and Thomas Nöla & the Black Hole, and he is the founder and curator of the curiously notorious Disques de Lapin and Eskimo Films. A self-described "full-time Heathen, journalist, DJ and promoter," Erin Powell is the Texas-based recording artist behind the project AWEN. DAVID E. WILLIAMS has released numerous recordings of his demented chamber pop for close to 3 decades, but he has also collaborated with other artists, such as Rozz Williams (Christian Death), Deathpile, Blood Axis (as touring keyboardist), Jerome Deppe and Naevus (not to mention Thomas Nola). ANDREW KING, who appears here as George III, epitomizes the concept of an artist steeped in the spirit of Tradition while exploiting the technology of the Modern. He is one of the few neofolk musicians in the world with actual knowledge of actual folk music (encyclopedically so!) and his most recent undertaking is a song cycle related to The Great War (better known to most as World War I). The disc, pressed on solid red vinyl with a very elegant folding cover, is limited and handnumbered to 300 copies. OLD EUROPA CAFE OEMP 016. $14.00

In addition to running the Glacial Movements label, Tedeschi is part of a long-running Italian electronic scene that includes Alio Die, Maurizio Bianchi, Eraldo Bernocchi, and the late Oophoi, amongst others.
"Otherworldly Abyss" was part of a quartet of Netherworld editions Tedeschi realized for Oophoi's Umbra imprint back in 2005, realized on CDR and difficult to find even then. A captivating album investing stark minimalism into ambient's multi-hued aural shadings, "Otherworldly Abyss" is the premiere installment in Anodize's reissue program of Netherworld's early recordings.
Silver manufactured CD. Collectors art edition housed in a lustrous, hinged rectangular tin with window displaying the CD & credits sticker on back panel.. $14.50

Nubiferous - Mana ( Post Tenebrous Musica: PTM01)
“Mana” is a missing link in the chain of Nubiferous releases: these recordings, made in 2011 have never been released until now by force of circumstances. This album initiated experiments with acoustic musical instruments adding archaic and folk colours to the sound canvas of Nubiferous that harmonizes with the album concept: “mana” is a supernatural force or power that may be ascribed to persons, animals, inanimate objects or spirits.
70 minutes of pure and natural ritualistic dark ambient, reminiscent of early Wolfskin or Aural Hypnox. Comes in a handnumbered 4-panel A5 Digifile limited to 499 pieces designed with the author's photographs.. $12.50

Nyodene D/Wolves of Heaven - Split LP ( Anthems of the Undesirable: Und05)
Vinyl re-issue of a tape that came and went very quickly. This one's lmtd to 300, so be sure not to miss out on the second go around. Toronto's Wolves of Heaven is the less power-violent and more power-electronic counterpart to Column of Heaven, and give us five tracks of throbbing synth-based industrial, distraught and uneasy atmospheres and deep vocals. This proceeds at a very deliberate and constructed pace, with a palpable tension running throughout.
Nyodene D delivers again with some of the heaviest and most violent material he's done; massively scaled, pounding rhythmic throb, malformed frequencies, melodic layers melting beneath a molten hot layer of distortion, and vocals that ascend to new heights of ferociousness. Outstanding.
"No love for the total."Limited to 300 copies.. $14.00

Obscene Noise Korporation - Primitive Terror Action/The Rape of the Blue Planet 2CD ( Malignant: TumorCD78)
If Negru Voda is the bastard step child of Megaptera, then O.N.K. is the brutish, backwoods cousin with an insatiable thirst for schadenfreude. Pure industrial sounds and cold mechanized rhythms from the blackened heart of the legendary Peter Nystrom, this sprawling 2 CD collects every recording ever done under the O.N.K. moniker, and adds copious amounts of all new material.
Disc 1 contains not only the 11 original recordings from the Primitive Terror Action LP (1997) on Slaughter Productions, but also the track “One Happy Gravel Pit And The Death” from the 1999 Cold Meat Industry compilation, Esthetiks of Cruelty, and a multitude of demo tracks and otherwise unreleased material. Disc 2, The Rape of the Blue Planet, are all new recordings from 2013 and 2014. Collectively, you can expect nothing but the rawest and most primitive of factory sounds and analogue terror. Very little layering and barely any overdubs, just strictly saturated frequencies and pulsating chunks of distortion drenched monstrosities. It’s Swedish, it’s industrial, it’s stripped down and downright ugly, just the way you want your Obscene Noise Korporation to be. Features vocal input and additional sounds from J. Stillings of Steel Hook Prostheses and a surprise at the end a surprise track at the end exclusive to the physical CD.
Layout and design by L. Kerr (Steel Hook Prostheses) in 8 panel 2CD digipak.. $11.66

Ochu - Tvärsnitt LP ( Verlautbarung: Mitt38)
First full length work from this Swedish project, only seven years since the last tape. Long gone is the rotten noisy industrial of old, this is more into rougher delirious shriveled loops from found sounds and field recordings, parts reminds of some of Small Cruel Partys works but perhaps with a more narrative perspective. Also includes a live ritualistic metal scrape improvisation and electronics with two additional members. In pasted-on blue risographic print covers, with small folded insert. Strong recommendation. $19.00

Odour Sonour feat. Stone Wired - Earth Burial/All Shall Be Dead All Shall Be Not CD ( Exabyss: SN030)
Formal debut of this Hungarian death industrial/ambient project, Odour Sonour does more than an admirable job of capturing the obscure and oppressive atmosphere of something you may have found on Death Odors era Slaughter Productions (ie, 1994-1995) as it deftly alternates between murky and blackened isolationism to more noxious and putrid realms. Of course, all of it comes wrapped in a charred, still smoldering post-apocalyptic embrace and carries a generally negative world view that fans of Megaptera, Today I'm Dead, and Archon Satani can appreciate. CD contains the entire Earth Burial release by Odour Sonour, as well as six collaborative tracks with label mate Stone Wired.. $9.00

Organized Resistance - Day of the Rope CS ( Freak Animal: FreakCS026)
Finally reissue of this radical power electronics album! Chrome tapes, 1:1 dubbing on loud levels, lyric insert and double sided j-card with all stuff that was on CD, but also unheard bonus track from 2006!!
Here's the original write-up I did: "Tired of those bands that skirt around the issues? No guessing with Organized Resitance. This is about as in your face and as obvious as it gets! Three-member unit delivers ultra violent and aggressive power electronics highly influenced by the notorious book The Turner Diaries. Organized Resistance presents views on the U.S. racial situation more explicitly than has ever been heard within the realm of power electronics. Aggressive vocals of Brethren spit like fire on top of painful but varied sounds, including some nicely juxtaposition atmospheric, yet unsettling passages. Definitely not for sensitive types! You have been warned!. $11.00

Orghanon - Figures in Slow Motion CD ( Eibon: Orgo93)
Sergio Calzoni's talent in chiselling electronics like a master craftsman has already been made very clear in COLLOQUIO's albums. This time he flies alone, and what a flight this is.... ORGHANON's debut album offers a melancholy-filled trip through a congealed world where figures slowly drift in the thick air. Gentle melodies, superbly constructed electronic patterns, experimental passages create vast sonic scenarios that would perfectly fit in a Jim Jarmusch/Alejandro Inarritu's movie. Not only the sheer, marvellous quality of the songs but also a very strong feeling of walking into a brand new, undiscovered sonic territory will leave you breathless. $12.00

Raison D'Etre - Tales From the Tabula Rosa (early works 1988-1991) 2CD ( Old Europa Café: OECD200)
'Tales from the Tabula Rasa' presents raison d'être in its earliest form, when there was no past and only future. This was the birth of raison d'être and the creative music mind of Peter Andersson. In one way it can be seen as the first particles to the seed that later became the established raison d'être sound in the 1990's. In the other way it can be seen as the evil twin seed that was left to die in an early stage, like if it was a stillborn or an infanticide. Nevertheless it is a period of time that can not completely be forgotten; a time when the first chapter of raison d'être was written. The music is heavily influenced by ancient myths, legends, religion, philosophy and history. The output is referred to tales rather than songs. There is a story told in each and every sequence.
Most of the material is previously unreleased on CD but some are known from the collection album 'Reflections From the Time of Opening'. Almost all the tracks are taken from three unofficial cassette releases from 1991, the year when raison d'être was born. A small portion is even earlier, from a pre-raison d'être project called D:Combe, active between 1988-1990. All material has been reworked in 2014. To the large extent the tracks are still the same, only some very annoying sounds or parts have been removed, and mainly orchestral sound samples have been replaced with better and more expressive versions. Six tracks from the original cassettes were exluded on the CD-set since they were too irritating. The exclusion made place for the D:Combe material which has been undergoing a more cosmetic treatment through a harmonized reverb becoming more hypnotic and dronelike. The fragments presented here are from the most experimental recordings, and the normal D:Combe sound was far from this, but still very primitive. Also changed is a pair of known track titles, they have returned to their original idea of spelling.. $15.66

Rapoon - Fall of Drums CD ( Zoharum: Zohar078-2)
It has been a year since the release of highly-acclaimed album entitled "To West and Blue". After various archive releases (the second volume in the rarities collection entitled "Seeds in the Tide" plus expanded reissue of a classic album "The Fires of the Borderlands") and new albums on other labels ("Psi-Transient" and "Conduits And Estuaries"), Robin Storey aka Rapoon presents a carefully woven new masterpiece called "Fall of Drums".
The new Rapoon album marks his return not only to the analogue electronics territories, but also to ethnic rhythms which he was known for in the very early days of his solo project. We are back to Middle Eastern territories, to deserts, opium hallucinations and ghosts whisper amidst the sand. 4 long hypnotic tracks of staggering beauty take us on an hour-long journey into your subconsciousness. In other words, it is another top quality album from Robin Storey.

Rapoon & Promute - Machine River CD ( Zoharum: Zohar079-2)
Not only is Robin Storey aka Rapoon a very prolific solo artist, but also he collaborates with many musicians from all over the world. He has already worked with Mykel Boys, Wyrm, Pas Musique, Kinder Atom, Cisfinitum, Pacific 231 et al. This time he teamed up with Shaun Sandor aka Promute to create 8 haunting tracks.
This is the story of their meeting in the words of Shaun Sandor: This collaboration between Rapoon and Promute is a direct result of the 2011 Endless Form Tour. For several nights in a row in different cities I sat in a swirling mist of sound conjured by Rapoon. The music easily generated notions of timelessness and seductive landscapes. In all of this, I was realizing that the electro-acoustic set that I was performing seemed to be a natural compliment to the music of Rapoon. I created several dozen tracks of homemade instruments, prepared guitar and bass, and sitar and sent them to Robin Storey to manipulate, process and edit. I asked my friend Des Kashyap to contribute some vocals as well, and he agreed. Robin added his music and vocals as well and did the arranging and mixing.
The CD is housed in an ecopak sleeve and is strictly limited to 500 copies.. $12.00

Sewer Goddess - Painlust CD ( Black Plagve: Infect14)
Sewer Goddess’ 2010 CD debut, “With Dirt You Are One”, seemed to come and go in the blink of a rotted eye, and while there have been numerous tape, compilation, and live recordings since then, nothing could possibly prepare you for the evolution in sound that has occurred since then. Recent material and performances have certainly hinted at it, but “Painlust” goes beyond all expectations and delivers what is up to this point, their benchmark recording. Now backed by a full fledged band and recorded in studio, Kristen Rose and co. have taken a blade to the original Sewer Goddess template and ceremoniously cut the fat, leaving a lean, sinewy carcass that’s as much doom metal as it death industrial. The 6 tracks here are an asphyxiating death march that’s concise and devastatingly heavy, the lurching, sludge driven guitar, dissonant riffs, and bass all in a rigid lockstep with heaving, pneumatic percussion. Bound with bewitching and often maniacal vocal shrieks and moans, and heaps of ghastly electronic filth, it’s a brilliant dichotomy between human and machine, resulting in a listening experience that’s at once enthralling and terrifying. In jewel box with 8 page booklet, designed by Andre Coelho.

Sigillum S - Studs and Divinity ( Monochrome Vision: MV47)

Studs and Divinity isn't their most focused work, nor their best work from the time period (quite honestly, parts of it are somewhat awkward by today's standard) but still, it's a vital document, navigating through ritualistic, dark ambient realms, swirls of cybernetic noise, electronic mutations, and solemn orchestrations. Sigma Octantis - Dissipations ( Malignant: Treatment04)
Final release from this enigmatic French act, who over their 10 plus year existence, evolved into something very cerebral and innovative, fusing tribal rhythms and percussion with post-industrial and post-rock soundscapes, where cinematic textures and emotive melodies combine to create an eclectic, yet highly detailed and focused listening experience. Sigma Octantis has never been shy about their admiration of Morthound, and while that rings true with Dissipations, they have undoubtedly forged their own identity, the strength of their sound coming from an ability to take a template established 20 years ago, and expound upon it with a distinctive and broad palette of layers and complexities, where the overall arrangement of the tracks is structured and song oriented, but made surreal, unpredictable, and infinitely engrossing. A unique vision has come to pass, but will continue to live on with a strong end statement. For fans of Morthound, Deutsch Nepal, and the latter works of Caul. SPHÄRE SECHS - Enceladus CD ( Malignant: TumorCD83)
A follow up to the highly acclaimed and quickly sold out Tiefschlaf CD (TumorCD56, 2012), this project of Phelios’ Martin Stürtzer and Christian Striztel finds the duo traveling even further out into space, beyond the reaches of light and into realms never before explored. While the overall approach is similar to Tiefschlaf and there’s certainly some shared DNA at play here, the seven tracks that comprise Enceladus feel weightier and darker…a glorious amalgam of drift and synth drone that seems to extend beyond any visual measure, the tones and textures floating off into an infinite expanse, pulled and stretched by an unseen gravitational force. Space inspired dark ambient can be a tricky thing…a common theme attempted by many with some measure of success, but few capture the coldness, stillness, and awe inspiring beauty of the interstellar void so brilliantly as Sphäre Sechs. Streicher - Annihilism CD ( Old Captain: OCCD10)
Old Captain is proud to offer a CD release of a true non-conformist artist - Ülex Xane and his vehement project Streicher. Streicher is one of the Industrial underground legends. Starting in Australia in the mid 80s with early projects such as Psy.Phalanx and Nife Junger, Ulex Xane began his Power Electronics/nOise project Streicher with a series of tape releases on his own label Zero Cabal. Originally inspired by his contact with Come Organisation (William Bennett of Whitehouse) and Broken Flag (Gary Mundy of Ramleh), Xane developed Streicher into his own unique style of Power Electronics, which came to be known as 'Oi Noise', extreme noise released mostly on cassette and distributed through the tape networks up to the early 90s which are now sought after collectors items. Streicher utilises a mix of total power noise with covert military recordings. A monument to futility, Streicher's "Annihilism" recording is a stark comment on the current war without end. Recorded at Anal Ripper Studio in 1989-1991 and originally released by Zero Cabal in 1995. Old Captain's 2015 special 20th Anniversary re-issue edition of 200 copies in 4 panel Digipak.. $13.50

Strom Noir - Glaciology CD ( Zoharum: Zohar090-2)
Strom Noir, which is a moniker for Emil Maťko, amazed everyone with his last year's album "Urban Blues", which saw Emil exploring urban spaces with the use of ephemeral guitar melodies. On his new album on Zoharum Emil, goes to entirely different places: filled with white glaciers and snow-capped mountains.
The subtitle of Strom Noir latest album is "Four Songs about Snow and Ice." Emil Maťko skillfully converted the arctic landscapes into sonic structures. Four compositions filled with static guitar drones resemble a snowy picture. They unravel very slowly and subtly into one another. They require focusing on them. A 20-minute bonus track which is the full version of ”Niekedy Sa Vracaju” originally released on "Tanec Rusaliek" cassette in the shortened version, has a similar sense.

Theologian - Pain of the Saints 2CD ( Malignant: TumorCD76)
5 years have passed since Navicon Torture Technologies' 2009 masterpiece finale, The Gospels of the Gash, and the last time Lee Bartow recording something specifically for release on Malignant, so it is with great honor and pride that he is welcomed back into the fold. During this span, primary releases on Crucial Blast and Handmade Birds have established and solidified his "new" project, Theologian, as a consistent and fruitful source for epically scaled and sprawling industrial soundscapes, and the 2CD set Pain of the Saints continues that trend, laying forth a dizzying 2 ½ + hours of music. Once again, Bartow has sculpted an impeccable and highly detailed excursion into tortured yet brilliant realms, where contrails of burning frequencies and blackened atmospheres intersect with densely concentrated rhythmic pulsations, ethereal, blissed-out shimmer, and the majestic monoliths of smoldering, post-apocalyptic desolation. There's a lot to absorb here, but the focus is precise even as the palate of sounds is broad and varied, a true testament to the deft skills of someone who's spent the last 15 plus years creating some of the most inventive and revolutionary sounds in modern industrial music.
Largely produced in collaboration with Fade Kainer (STATIQBLOOM, BATILLUS), and featuring the core trio of Lee M. Bartow, Matt Slagle, and Kainer, Pain of the Saints also includes contributions from David Castillo (PRIMITIVE WEAPONS/WHITE WIDOWS PACT), Joan Hacker (FACTORIA/HEROINE), Christiana Key (DELPHIC ORACLE), Matthew Melnick (DARKSIDE NYC/ex-DISASSOCIATE), Eric Morgan (A PALE HORSE NAMED DEATH), Jessica Way (WORM OUROBOROS/BARREN HARVEST), and more.
Lyrically and thematically it represents Bartow's rallying cry against Christianity and more specifically Catholicism — an "Anti-Theist manifesto" — and sonic diatribe exposing hypocrisy within the church and a broader questioning of what sainthood means. In his own words, "...in many cases, it seems almost like a prerequisite for Sainthood is to suffer at the hands of the Church. It was common to imprison, torture, execute anyone with ideas that ran contrary to what the Church dictated, to brand them as a heretic or a witch, or an apostate, and then end their lives using some of the most brutal methods humans have ever conceived. Then, the ultimate hypocrisy: to turn around and dub these victims of the Church as saints, centuries after having murdered them."

Theologian - Some Things Have to Be Endured LP (Blood Red Vinyl) ( Crucial Blast: CBR104LP)
Finally here after a series of delays, Theologian's amazing Some Things Have To Be Endured is now available on vinyl, released on blood-red vinyl in gatefold packaging in a limited edition of five hundred copies, with download code. The album art for the LP is completely different from the CD version, and features the evocative and disturbing images of NY photographer Gretchen Heinel; it's equally as visually striking as the CD edition, and casts these eight tracks of punishing death industrial in an even more menacing light. The latest offering from NY synth-death master Theologian (aka Leech, also the mastermind behind the renowned power electronics/death industrial outfit Navicon Torture Technologies), Some Things Have To Be Endured features eight new tracks of punishing black industrial, apocalyptic darkwave frequencies, and nerve-rending electronic deathscapes. Endured is a collection of collaborations between Theologian and a lineup of female vocalists/artists from both within the industrial / noise / dark ambient / coldwave realm and beyond, with contributions from Rachael Kozak (Hecate), Kristen MacArthur (Sewer Goddess), Rachel Maloney (Tonikom), Nikki Telladictorian (Prometheus Burning), Patricia Benitez (Fetish Drone), Gillian Leigh Bowling (Teloahqaal), Christiana Key (Delphic Oracle), Joan Hacker (Factoria), Shari Vari (Void Vision), and professional opera singer Melissa C. Kelly. The tracks shift from grinding industrial dread to ethereal coldwave beauty, blasts of rumbling blackened synthcrush met with washes of haunting electronic melody, while always remaining rooted in Theologian's bleak, jet-black industrial sound.
Co-produced with Derek Rush/DREAM INTO DUST and mastered by James Plotkin, Some Things Have To Be Endured contains some of the most moving and dramatic music to emerge from Theologian's black sonic abyss.Track Samples:. $19.00

The Rita - Queen Sheets 2LP ( Urashima: UMA094)
Some time ago a colleague emailed me and informed me that an artist made a short video of herself knitting to THE RITA's 'Thousands of Dead Gods.' I watched the short video and thought it was interesting, but then also noticed that the woman had a link included on her 'Instagram' account for her sculptural works. I had a look at her work and was instantly taken by the sheer immensity and power of her structures, all exemplary of long hours of labour and provocative patterns behind the materials. The most notable structure for me was the piece 'Untitled Form (Barrier)' which was made up of timber, bricks, mortar and a semi-dynamic use of the material chiffon to hold bricks in a hanging fashion. The semi-opaque, stretching quality behind the white chiffon with height of almost 8 feet instantly brought to mind the focus of my past recordings that delved into the world of nylon and stocking fetishism, eventually contemplating the semi-opaque salmon pink qualities behind the tights used by classical ballerinas and the expanded practice and tradition therein. Looking at an imposing 8'4 x 8' structure like Megan Miller's 'Untitled Form (Barrier)' and it's materials made me think that any sound made by the structure's movement of bricks against each other piled in a virtual sling of moving chiffon would be perfect for textural, abrasive sound source. After some discussion with Megan, it was decided that a new structure would be built for a collaboration with THE RITA that embraced not themes of fetishism, but expanded utilitarian themes around the use of nylon; the stockings, tights and nylon that women wore to work, what our mother's wore for warmth, comfort, and most importantly the virtual make-up of the fabric, the inherent qualities it featured. Her eventual new outdoor sculpture was entitled 'Queen Sheets' and also made use of brick and mortar, expanding over a flat area with semi-opaque chiffon stretching over the whole of the area, covering it. 'Untitled Form (Barrier)' was also erected again in the same outdoor area, and this time the labor intensive building process of both sculptures was recorded for eventual processing by THE RITA. Sam McKinlay
‘'An exquisite and entirely feminine material, much can be said of nylon. It moves like us and with us, stretches like us and with us, and, although extremely delicate and easily torn, the fiber is strong enough to make me wonder if it could support bricks. Pantyhose become our second skin, our birth-skin held in its softness. The sound of its softness is remarkable – the sound of second skin of birth – skin and the light sweet between.'' - In a letter to Sam from Megan on March 31 th , 2014 - (in response to the Rita's ‘'Ballet Feet Positions'')
Both records are impressive, inspired and near perfect examples of Mr. McKinlay brutal sonic talents. This is easily one of the highlights of this year noise releases and a high point in the Rita discography. A must have item for HNW/Noise fans; but also a great entry point into the genre to see how one of the masters of the form performs.Double Lp has been pressed on 140 gr black vinyl with black label and black inner sleeve and comes in a deluxe silver silkscreen on black cardboard sleeve, limited to 199 copies w/insert in luxury 160 gr ivory paper, plus four color photographs. All package in a clear plastic sleeve to protect double Lp, cover and inserts from dirt, shelf wear and damage.. $31.00

The Rita & Herukrat - Red Imprint from Ankle Ribbon C30 ( Nilbymouth: NBM45)
After the joint work with Caligula 031, The Rita comes back on Nil By Mouth with a split tape with the promising american act Herukrat. The colour explosions and the sexual disease of SELF SHOP turns off its intense shades for a darker and deeper sound.
This collaboration is ideally connected to the recent CD “Ballet Feet Position” out on Old Europa Café /Elettronica Radicale, the legs of an imaginary ballet dancer are cut off abruptly by the sharp razor slashes of Sam McKinlay, a thick noise wall served with sick vocal samples. Herukrat joins the dance with a well-structured darkening harsh noise, a sort of death industrial with harsh features. Another piece to value this young but noteworthy project.
Limited edition of 150 copies. $11.50

Trepaneringsritualen - Ritualer, Blot & Botgoring CD ( Infinite Fog: IF-45)
Ritualer, Blot & Botgöring' is the CD re-release of Trepaneringsritualen's first tape, originally issued on Harsh Head Rituals in 2008 in a tiny edition of 75 copies. All head-experiments contained herein work on quite simple and primitive levels in the good, old-fashioned industrial way, with less focus on layering and vocals. Suggestive hell-drones and slow grinding dungeon electronics with a concrete edge - toward the inevitable, lifeless end. This CD edition includes 2 bonus tracks: 'Death Is Your Friend' & 'Seeing What I Suffer', one previously unreleased and one from the 'White Nights' compilation never before available on CD.. $15.33

Umpio + irr.app.(ext.) - Observation Affects the Outcome ( Monochrome Vision: MV48)
Collaborative project between Finland's underrated Umpio and American experimentalist, irr.app.(ext.). A surprisingly strong head trip of electro-acoustic explorations, with glassy textures and churning drones interrupted by a steady stream of creaks, mechanized whir, surreal noises and disturbances, that's much darker and and at times spookier than I expected.. $11.00

Uncodified - Hardcore Methodology ( Old Europa Café: OECD203)
In the past few years, Corrado Alteri (Candor Chasma, Monosonik, TH26)’s has been making quite a name for himself with his loudest project, thanks to the complex and highly differentiated styles of each release, always hoisting the banner of abrasive post-industrial experimentation.
Cold experimental atmospheres, concrete sounds, analog violence, pure industrial wreckage and full frontal power electronics are the many different ingredients that make Hardcore Methodology a real manifesto that shows the many faces and skills of Uncodified, though credit must also go to the collaboration with acclaimed and notorious projects and individuals like Simon Balestrazzi (TAC, Candor Chasma, etc.), Marco Wertham’s CALIGULA031 , Paolo Bandera’s SShe Retina Stimulants, Bologna Violenta and Gianluca Favaron.
With the help of these fellow gentlemen, Altieri successfully assembles his work by constantly comparing its compositions to the methodology used by directors of Hardcore movies, obsessively following the same flow and scenes visualization by means of the constantly-changing structures of his work.. $13.50

Uncodified - Vindicta II ( Old Europa Café: OECD201)
After one year from the first chapter, UNCODIFIED (feat. Corrado Altieri of Candor Chasma, Monosonik, etc.) and WERTHAM (feat. Marco Deplano of Caligula031 and Foresta di Ferro) return with the second chapter of the “Vindicta” trilogy , once again focusing on Sardinian criminal history and culture.
The sound slightly turned into more constructed high voltage power electronics, with stronger industrial structures and pulsating bass frequencies that do not betray the expectations of the previous installment. The two projects blend their experience into an avalanche of analog sounds, distorted synths, extensive use of samples and agonizing vocals that scream in Sardinian, Italian and English.
The concept slightly moves from the blood-feud/knife obsessive themes of the first work, toward the aftermath of the war between families that lead the protagonist of our tale to turn into a feral life style on impenetrable mountains, “living like boars and sleeping like foxes”, until his capture and subsequent confinement in the notorious Boncammino’s jail. The solitude of the forced mountain life meet the despair of 30 years of life in a cage of the notorious legal lager.
8 tracks, digipack, with a rich booklet with illustrations and text translated into English, “Vindicta II” is mastered by Simon Balestrazzi (TAC, Candor Chasma, etc.). Another collaboration betwene Old Europa Café and Marco’s label “Elettronica Radicale Edizioni”.. $13.66

Various Artists - T.O.M.B. / Clavicula Salomonis /Black Seas of Infinity / Bride - Split 2xC30 ( Danvers State Recordings: DSR57)
4 way split on 2 x C30s offering a diverse yet cohesive selection of blackened hopelessness and toxic atmospheres. First up is T.O.M.B. with three tracks of murky and opaque ritual ambience, that eventually moves into a more malevolent realm of clanging metal and soul crushing, hyper modulated, industrial noise.
Clavicula Salmonis is a new one for me with a 14 minute track of well composed and carefully constructed dark noise and atmospheric scourge, finishing it off with some serious crunch and grind.
It's been awhile since I've heard anything from Black Seas, but they've always struck me as a somewhat under appreciated act, though a lack of activity is probably more responsible for that. Still, nice to have them back, and the 15 minute piece is a good representation of their sound; lightless and bleak dark ambient that moves in slowly shifting patterns.
Lastly, Bride, which is a side project of T.O.M.B., focusing on ritualistic experimental and ambient sounds with hints of industrial and noise thrown in. 6 tracks.. $10.66

Vidna Obmana - The Ultimated Sign of Burning Death LP ( Urashima: UMA086)
Vidna Obmana (stylized vidnaObmana on many album covers) is a pseudonym used by Belgian composer and ambient musician Dirk Serries. The name Vidna Obmana, a phrase in Serbian, literally translates to "optical illusion" and was chosen by Serries because he felt it accurately described the music. Serries created music under the Vidna Obmana pseudonym from 1984 until 2007, when he official retired the name. Vidna Obmana's music has often been described as anamorphic and organic. He has been a significant name in the ambient scene for more than two decades, releasing over more than 50 solo albums and numerous collaborations. But apart from his main ambient colleagues, Vidna Obmana originates from the industrial cassette network scene (early eighties), releasing several tapes (on his own label and on others) over a timespan of 4 years and contributing to international cassette compilations. He now mostly works under his own birth name or in collaboration with musicians from the freejazz and improv scene, hence his own DIY label Tonefloat's A New Wave Of Jazz. The Ultimated Sign Of Burning Death is officially the first tape ever by Vidna Obmana. Completely recorded in his small bedroom at his parent's house in 1984, the music was performed on a KORG MS20, using self-fabricated tape loops of various lengths, vocals, a few effects and an old DJ mixer. All pieces were real-time recorded on a standard Marantz tapedeck, no overdubs were made considering it would deteriorate even more the already low-budget quality of the initial recordings. While only a handful copies were made on his own label, Belgium's Therapie Organisatie reissued the tape in 1985 for a limited run of 50 copies. Over time the reputation of this hard-to-find grew slowly but consistent. Now Urashima reissues this rarity on beautiful black vinyl, exclusively remastered by Dirk Serries. The record has been pressed on 140 gr black vinyl with black label and black inner sleeve and comes in a deluxe silver silkscreen on black cardboard sleeve with new artwork and layout , limited to 99 copies w/insert in luxury 160 gr ivory paper and package in a clear plastic sleeve to protect record, cover and inserts form dirt, shelf wear and damage.. $22.00

Weihan - Blodslitinn A Steininum CD ( Lichterklang: LK025)
Stronger than ever before and seven years after their last album, Weihan return with their impressive new album "Blodslitinn A Steininum". While the previous albums of the Belgian project were characterised by the divergency between Neofolk and martial based influences, Jurgen and Miguel used the long period to strengthen their music on a more sophisticated and variable version of Martial Industrial that is conceptually founded in Norsk sagas and sacrificial pagan rites. The title of the album therefore might also be translated as "The colour of blood on stone". Mastered by Axel Frank (Werkraum). Ltd x 260 copies.. $11.66

Wertham - Maladolescenza 7inch EP ( Deathangle Absolution Records: DARW01)
The 20 year anniversary release of this Italian PE/Industrial Noise heavyweight. Few artists in this realm can continue to create such essential and worthy sounds after 2 decades of delivering nothing less than superior electronic savagery and filth the way that WERTHAM creator has. Maladolescenza is once again another hommage to the ever-inspiring work to the homonymous psychiatrist, author of the controversial "Seduction of the innocents". Young offenders, juvenile delinquency, blunt force traumas, senseless violence, youth in distress, gender confusion and manorexia blend together in a pulsating outburst of violence, with trade-mark vocals, sickening samples and full-blast analogue power.
Featuring recently found never-released archive material recorded by/with several past collaborators. A release that not only acts as a fitting tribute to the last 20 years, but also as a glimpse into what lies ahead from its creator. Side A features additional input from Mike Dando (Con-Dom) and David Padbury (The Grey Wolves).

Yannick Franck - Hierophany ( Monochrome Vision: MV44)
Every release I hear from Yannick Franck confirms that his work flies under the radar. I mean, I don't think I've sold more than 2 copies of his collaboration with Craig Hilton and there's just no excuse, especially when it's going for a mere $7.00. If you're into heavier, industrial ambience, this dude is just plain legit; dense, powerful, massively scaled drones and factory atmospheres that build to formidable climaxes. With the past track record of sales, not a lot on hand, but I'll try and get more going shortly.. $11.00
